Number 52 Sauna

Its ok, the staff here arent very friendly. The lockers are too small. The clientèle is generally good and a mix of types and ages. Place is dirty in some places and needs better cleaning. E.g. watery gunk around the steam room area.Edit: watch out for the older guy with glasses who seems to be the one running the place, hes a racist.

Seems to have changed hands. Although the sauna and steam room were nicely hot and pleasant the jacuzzi had excess chlorine. My eyes are stinging even an hour later and my skin stinks of it. They also seem to be carrying out cleaning during opening hours. I was asked to remove myself from the tv room and the jacuzzi so that cleaning could be done. This did not add up to a happy experience. Ill certainly be considering whether to go back.Lockers are really too small.

Finally pumped myself up enough to step in the doorway after months of putting it off and questioning it, just to be shut down almost immedieltey by the bloke in the tank vest on reception telling me oh ite £17 quid btw cus your not a member and there’s only 3 people in the building… great 👍👍 who would pay all that when it’s there first time going somewhere. wasn’t interested at n any other discussions just buzzed me straight out. I wouldn’t dare pay all that money when it’s me first time not even offered to give me a tour or nowt just 17 quid but btw where cleaning up shortly and people have just left. Way to lose customers with there RIP OFF prices it said £10 or £11 on the website after 6, won’t be coming back for a second look, sod yas!! 🙂

I have been there many times and every time I feel great and I can say that although it is small it is much better than many London saunas

I was on Wednesday and the water in the jacuzzi seemed full of bleach both from the smell and the yellow color of the hair after being there. Isnt there supposed to be chlorine?

Been here a few times now as a non member, originally quite reserved but the lad with the hand tattoos was amazing, cant sing his praises enough, always happy to answer questions and very friendly to everyone! A real asset to the team cant fault him at all! When Im back in Newcastle I shall be returning!

Roach motel, really nasty venue and staff to match. Literally a Hell Hole, you will come out of here itching with fleas, monkeypox and every STD going

I called at 8:40AM on October 7, attempting to book a room for the weekend. The young man on the phone was rather condescending throughout the phone call, first in responding to my initial request for 55 hours based on descriptions in the website. When he said that will not be possible because you close tomorrow evening, so I requested a 24 hour booking instead. He then said Id have to pay over the phone. I was uncomfortable reading out my regular day-to-day card on the phone, and while I was sorting out an alternative card to read out to him, he hurried me up saying Id have to be a lot quicker as he was the only one at the desk. I then offered to call back in 5 minutes. At this point, without saying another word, he slammed the phone on me.This behaviour and the general tone was absolutely uncalled for, and has turned me off visiting. As such, I will no longer be coming this weekend and will adapt my travel plans to do other things instead. Im just offering this feedback so you can improve the service and speak to the young man to at least attempt to be a little less rude. Speaking to the person who recommended Number 52 to me in the first place, he said, I may have dealt with an individual who is generally known to be rude, especially as a night shift wears on and hes had a bit too much to drink during his shift, someone named Kieron - I dont know if it is in fact Kieron (that is something youd be able to confirm based on the date and time - 8:40AM on October 7) but whoever it is, I certainly do hope the behaviour can change.

Been to a few gay saunas, this one was my favourite so far. Such a chilled out vibe. The jacuzzi was absolutely boiling (in the best possible way), first place I’ve been to where all the staff were all actually friendly, the prices to get in are the lowest I’ve seen, decent drinks selection, smoking area was ambient(but could really do with an electric heater for the colder days), actual sauna was a tad on the small side, but the best part of the place was how busy it was. Good mix of people too, old, young, all body types, all races were seen on my almost full day there. Definitely felt like an inclusive space, and there were certainly more than a few hotties walking around. Will be returning soon.

I experienced racism from your staff for the first time. I was not drunk so that should not be used as an excuse. This happened late Saturday early Sunday.I also got man handled by your security.I am very disappointed!!!!

I came tonight and I was quite nervous because it was my first time coming to Number 52. I was greeted by the manager at the door who answered all my questions and really put me at ease. The other lad with tattoos was very friendly and professional and nothing was a bother for him. He served me food and drinks with a smile. The sauna was very clean and tidy and smelt really nice. The jacuzzi pool was a little busy but relaxing all the same. It was really busy tonight with lots of men around the same age. There wasnt many drunk people around which was a suprise for a Saturday night. The toilets were all really clean and the rooms were clean and tidy with everything you need. I had lots of fun tonight and I couldnt of felt more welcome. I will definately be back but I just wanted to say a big thank you to the manager and the other lad with the tattoos. I would definately recommend a visit here especially if you have never been before. See you again very soon!

I drink 660ml budweiser from tescos(daily 12 bottles at least except for the 19.08.23 after 12 when got paid. So when at sauna and some kid cuts off your intake and keep in mind was compos mentos (if that was said/spelt correctly) only had 6-7of the miniature size budweiser and watched and listened to how they refused other people just because they couldnt be bothered this sauna is now a piss take staffing and prices I wouldnt waste coin on this dump!

Great sauna. Well kept and clean. Saturday afternoon was busy with all types. Really enjoyed my time and would highly recommend it

What can I say. Lovely and friendly staff the private rooms are spot on dead comfy even comfy with a tall muscly man next to me. Hot tub very clean and warm to relax in.

Love this sauna. Its cheap, clean and full. My only issue is with the temperature of the jacuzzi. They say it is the temp it is supposed to be but I know thats not true. Ive been in many jacuzzies and never have they been that hot.

Been here a few times. Staff are brilliant apart from the bald bloke who thinks he rules the place . Obviously someone with debt/ chip on shoulder problems or similar as he he treats his colleagues the same. ( sack) . Rest of the staff spot on .Clean and welcoming .New staff being trained on arrival and seemed a decent lad too .Great times in here both with customers and with staff .Cafe is pleasant but get rid of the bald guy please - it puts the muppet in the muppet show !

It was going alright untill I saw a poster saying under 30s is £8 on the days Im in and was charged £16!I even said its my first time and that was taken advantage of.Not an honest business unfortunately

Very clean, excellent staff too. This is a fantastic place to go to meet new people and socialise with them. Nobody here judges anyone on their body type or preferences. The staff are really friendly and helpful. The food served here is great and at a decent price too.

Friendly and clean, the staff constantly cleaning which was good to see.Went with my partner both enjoyed the hot pool nice and hot perfect.Not enough young guys or Asian or black guys sadly as there my preference.

Was recommended this place when I asked the /r/newcastleupontyne subreddit what would be a good place for my family (wife and two kids) to visit when we were down for the day.I was instantly met with confusion from the person behind the desk as me and my family walked in. After telling him that Im from the Newcastle subreddit, he instantly led me by hand to the sauna room whilst getting another staff member to usher my family out via the entrance.I was escorted into the room, to which I was surprised to see a group of 50+ men having fun with each other. Their eyes instantly darted to me as I walked in, like a group of tigers looking at their next meal. I was shocked at what I was witnessing, therefore recuperated myself and asked the gentlemen if I was in the right place after explaining how I found this establishment.They all nodded in unison as they explained to me that they were actually the moderators of /r/newcastleupontyne

Sauna, steam room and jacuzzi nice and hot; showers are pretty strong and don’t dribble on you; helpful friendly staff and good food! What more does one need to say? Oh yes, very close to Newcastle train/metro stations!

Always enjoy visiting here, only an hour from York. Friendly and very reasonable prices, very clean and safe. Looking forward to seeing you soon when restrictions allow your reopening.

After going to H2o sauna for a few years and not happy with it as late I decided to go to 52.Well what a difference. Nice and friendly staff . Very clean and everything works.I have decided that this is now the sauna I will be going to in future.Also I had been wandering what had happened to guys that I used to see at H2o .They now go to 52.

Very good big sauna with nice spaces. Lot of hot guys. Friendly and cute staff. Great place to have have fun. You can also have a drink or enjoy the hot tub. Great!!!!

Unbelievable, there is no hot water in the shower ! only cold :( and its cold in the sauna cabin!for which it charges 16 pounds?

The new staff discriminates against clients because I am not English, said I am not a member because he could not find me in the system and stated that I was drunk..

Really needs to work on safety, some weirdos think its okay to grab you. Plus why is jacuzzi always closed.
