(Translated by Google)Visually pleasing concert hall, but the seats are very narrow. I am small, for me the chair was normal, for my husband it was cramped and not comfortable, and it is not clear how denser people should sit there. This is a big minus of this room. The armrests are short, wooden and hard and cannot be removed. On the website, the location of the seats looks a little different than in reality. In addition, it is very important that from some seats in the auditorium the view of the stage is partially or significantly blocked by a vertical wide black beam, and when purchasing tickets on the website we did not see information about this. My seat was good, but from the seat next to me, where my husband was sitting, the left side of the stage was partially invisible. And this is the situation on all sides of the hall, since there are several of these beams. For the rear seats, there are projectors/screens on the back side of the balconies that broadcast images of the stage to give the audience a better view. But the quality of this broadcast is terrible, considering that this is supposed to be professional equipment. When zoomed in on the stage, my everyday phone shows a much higher quality picture than the “professional” broadcast in the hall. The first hour of the show the sound was acceptable, but for the next 2 hours the sound was too loud. Lindsey Stirling was amazing on August 14th and we were also very pleased with her group of dancers and musicians. However, after the concert, when the crowd began to exit through different doors into the street, I got a little lost inside and went outside to the top step to look around the street and understand whether my husband had come out or was waiting for me inside. When I tried to go back, a huge security guard blocked my way, he said that I had no right to go in, that the concert was over, and he began to push me towards the exit. I said that I bought a ticket - its easy to check, that I went to the top step for a few seconds, and I said twice that I was trying to find my husband in the crowd. I stood calmly, waiting for help and the opportunity to return to the hall, however, the security guard didn’t care and instead of helping, he continued pushing me up the steps and called the female security guard to help him! And together they forced me to go outside. This is some kind of nonsense! The management of the concert hall should look into the situation and train security so that they do not treat visitors with disrespect and unpleasantness.
Outstanding venue. The Bleachers sounded great. The seats in the lodge were very comfortable, and the restrooms were the cleanest Ive ever seen. The extended bar behind the lodge was quite convenient. It felt very safe, with semi-reasonable parking just a few blocks away. After the show, we were back at the car park within 10 minutes. Highly recommended.
Im glad I attended my first Ringo concert at this very historic Philly venue. Outstanding staff, good seat views, restrooms are nearby when we need them. Taking a picture in front of that media backdrop, makes me feel like Im a Red & Gold Carpet Reporter. Speaking of technical things, I also like how the crew can raise & lower the fancy chandelier (in front of the stage). So that photographers (like me) can get clear photos of the entertainment!!!!
Wow, what a great venue. So clean and the seating was comfortable. Service was outstanding and I was able to easily upgrade my seat within a few minutes, they even took the time to walk me to and show me the upgrades that were available. Highly recommend this venue and will be returning in the future.
- sound quality is very nice at this venue and they have amazing light show capabilities. The layout for where you sit is pretty good.- prices range from what band is playing, but they drinks and all are normal prices for these events.- bathrooms are pretty decent, the womens bathroom had a lot of girls putting on makeup and everything and they were super rude and were blocking the sinks so everyone else couldnt wash their hands.- how they ran merch lines were a bit stupid and needs to be re-designed.- getting into the venue was not bad at all, but they do need someone out directing people cause everyone was just standing wherever which made it a bit annoying trying to get through the security checkpoint.- place was clean.- staff were friendly and helpful.- overall not a bad first experience at this location.
Smaller venue, allows audience to be closer to performers. Attended Justice: Live concert here. Had an ‘obstructed view’ seat, but overall was great for the price!! So rare to find reasonably priced concert tickets. Thankful for Justice in choosing a decent venue and keeping ticket prices affordable 🙌🏾
Roslyn was incredible at the club box door. My mom has a hard time walking and dealing with the heat and she was leaning on the wall trying to catch her breath. Roslyn went inside and got her a glass of ice water and was checking on her every few minutes. She is exactly the kind of person you want as the face of your venue! Welcoming and thoughtful! Give that woman a raise! People like her are worth their weight in gold! I just wanted to say how much we appreciated her! The venue was beautiful too but she was the highlight.
Absolutely beautiful venue. The acoustics are amazing as well, which made for a very memorable evening. The seats are close together, which is common in an older venue. It wasnt unbearable, and the actual seats were more comfortable than a number of other older venues that Ive visited. I would not hesitate to come back to see a show here.
This was a great venue for the Khruangbin show I caught in Philly this summer. The interior architecture of the building is beautiful carved-looking corners that were highlighted beautifully by this shows lighting design. (Mad props to the lighting designer!) The audio for the show was really good as well. The entryway was a bit confusing in the lobby the way they had things cut off and were routing people around for different things.I will say the sound and lighting design booth was right in front of us basically which was great but also distracting which I’m generally used to at shows but the set up left something to be desired not having that row either raised or the lighting booth lowered.Didn’t grab any food, just some liquid death but I remember smelling snack foods.
Went to see Sting May of 2022 unfortunately our seats were in the loge. Tight seating, stood for most of the concert. Elevator access only to the second & fourth floors. So, if youre a senior citizen make sure your seats are on the first floor. Never again. Other than that the concert was great, after all it was STING.
Great venue for a concert. All seats are good seats, even the cheap ones. Beautiful chandelier. Elevator for the top floor. Bar and restroom on every level. Popcorn, snacks and fast food available downstairs and at the bars. Standing areas and tables available for before the show and at intermission/between acts. Only negative is seats are a bit small. Still would be happy to visit again.
The Met in Philadelphia is a great place to see a show. There really isnt a bad seat in the entire place. We sat in the second row of the loge upstairs (note that there are quite a few steps to get up there) and had a great view of the comedians we saw that night; the picture of the stage in this review has no zoom on it at all. They have a number of bars that you can grab drinks at, just be aware that theyre pricey. Parking options are relatively close by, but also fairly pricey. There are also subway stops pretty close too. Its quick to get in and out of the venue, the staff does a very nice job.
Last night was my first visit to the Met. It started out on a very depressing note when I found that my last row of Orchestra level seats might as well have been across the street. The mezzanine blocks the view of the stage! I felt like I was on the wrong side of the railroad tracks and looking underneath a bridge to see the stage on the far side. Those tickets should cost $10, not $110.Fortunately for us, the venue apparently recognizes that those are terrible seats and had staff walking around offering people the ability to upgrade to the balcony.I wasnt eager to spend an extra $30, 40, or $50 a ticket, but the view from the balcony was excellent and the view from my awful orchestra level seats was terrible, so I spent the money and had a great view of the show!
Ive seen a few shows here and they have all been fantastic. The acoustics are great, views from the seats are good since its not a massive venue, and the food (when available) is surprisingly reasonable - drinks are not...Two issues that stand out are:1. The size of the seats and the lack of legroom. Im 61 with long legs, and its a rough go for me, but once the music starts, I notice it less.2. Parking - get there EARLY! Parking in this part of Philly is a premium. But, as I mentioned earlier, this is a great music venue.
I am happy to say we returned for a second show and that one went off without a hitch. The Met has been redone and is beautiful inside. Excellent acoustics as well. We attended the Pentatonix show within a week of the venue reopening. We would have given it five stars except they changed the time of the show and many patrons including us were not informed. We missed nearly half the show.
Awesome place, great sound and the atmosphere is great. I have PTSD and was having a slight anxiety attack from the crowd of people getting in. The security was very professional and helped me get through the metal detection system. A+++ service. Sorry about the attitude, I was just experiencing good anxiety and bad anxiety. Thanks for everything.
The renovation of this landmark building is amazing and well deserved. However, this makes it a very popular venue, which makes the interior seem a little worn-out. The staff understands how to manage their audiences and usher them in and out of the building. There are bars and concession items like popcorn at fixed stands on every level or by a hawker patrolling the venue. It wasnt very clean and the seats small and worn. The acoustics were phenomenal and the place makes a great concert venue.
Came here for the first time to see Ronny Chieng. Bc we arrived 15 mins late there were only a few people waiting in the line to get in. Took less than 5 mins for metal detectors, ticket scanning, etc you know the drill. Once we got in there were staff members waiting to assist us towards which way to go for our area and even walked us to our section (since the show began and lights were off now) we sat in loge 4 on the second fl. This place is a lot bigger than I thought it was. Had very clean gender neutral bathrooms on both sides of every floor. Heads up if you’re driving there to take advantage of the upgrades and perks emails they send you before the show for parking bc there were only two options for last minute parking which was 100$ for valet or the parking lot across the street for 60$. 😩 which cost almost as much as the tickets but we had no choice. Besides that we had a great experience!
This place was disappointing. The lobby is too small for the amount of people they admit, many members of staff are clueless AND rude, and while this may seem like a nice concert hall, they try to squeeze more people in by placing a standing area directly in front of the stage. While that wouldnt typically be too bad, because its a concert hall and not a stadium, it forces everyone else to stand in a situation where many (like me) didnt wear shoes to stand for 2 hours because the venue is advertised as seated. At multiple points there were people, including myself, who had to sit down because we couldnt stand for the fullperiod of time. The only redeeming quality about this place was the artist I went to go see.
Parking a cross the street at an empty lot.$60.00 per vehicleBeautiful, historic venue.Wheel chair accessible, kid friendly, depending on what youre going to see.Very nice place. Ther are bars to within the auditorium and at the entrance to purchase beverages and libations.Very nice experience. The seats are very close together with barely any room to walk through the aisle if someone is sitting down.
The venue was gorgeous and the staff was friendly and efficient. I will probably never return to this venue though. Our seats were in the 3rd floor balcony and had a box to the left side of the stage. We were the first row, when we sat in our seats, the stage disappeared. The wall is too high for the seats once you sit down. The picture is from me holding my phone above my head and Im tall! The row behind us had bar height stools to sit in and I asked if they could see and that guy said not really, so it wasnt just us. The closest parking is $100 and the parking half a mile away was $50. For both of those reasons, I will not return to the Met, which is a shame - see my first sentence.
Saw the last leg of the Elvis Costello concert at The Met Philadelphia. The sound was great, and the size of the venue made the show feel very intimate. The seats were a bit tight and awkward to maneuver through but that is the only complaint. It was much cleaner than I thought it would be as well. Which was a nice surprise.
This place was so beautiful. I saw two shows here: one in the general admission pit, and one in the Orchestra 2 section. Both shows had many great points, as far as views (see photos) and comfort were concerned, but the orchestra section had AMAZING sound. The staff were friendly, and it was clean. We didnt have to stand outside in the cold to wait for the show, which goes a long way with me.
Seats are a little on the smaller, closer side but otherwise a beautiful venue. If youre tall, Id recommend an aisle seat or box seats.Came here to see Jill Scott and she was amazing. Wasnt a big fan of the gentleman directing the traffic into the doors referring to the crowd as People of Wakanda. I know he was likely joking but it was kinda in poor taste as he was a white man directing a mostly black crowd by shouting that through a megaphone. 🤦🏾♀️ Not a super deep offense for me but I know there were definitely people that were uncomfortable with the comment.
My wife and I recently saw Lady Antebellum at the Met. It was our first time at this venue and we had a fantastic time. The venue is like a time capsule, having well preserved the old opera house vibe. Great acoustics. Friendly staff. And the overall smaller size (compared to the larger venues in the area) makes for a much more intimate concert experience. My only gripes are; parking options are limited and the official lots are expensive ($50 for the D lot which was 3 blocks away). Also, seats in the Orchestra areas are very, very cramped.
Gorgeous venue that looks very well maintained. Just went for the Keshi concert and could not have had a better experience. My seat had plenty if knee room and even though I thought it was quite far from the stage, I had a great view. Acoustics sounded loud and clear. Never going to forget this incredible experience ❤️
This is a really cool venue to hear music. I would definitely go back, but one thing to note is that not all seats are created equally. 1st, if it says an obstructed view, they mean it. You will likely be watching the concert from a screen. Also, the premium level with the boxes is awesome. Private bars, a club lounge, and full table service at your seat. One big negative, is we had seats in a box, and they were in row C on the website. The seat map looked like the view from those seats would be fine. It wasnt. I decided to upgrade on-site, but that was really disappointing because if I had given the tickets as a gift, it would really have been not good.
Nice venue! Sound and performance excellent! The restrooms are co-ed, but pretty clean and the doors go pretty much to the floor. Fairly easy to get in, not much of a wait through security (metal detector). Bars located on each level in multiple areas (the drinks were overpriced as expected). I think there could be a few more trashcans placed throughout. Parking was hard to find, but eventually we found a spot a few blocks away. Pretty easy and quick to get out of the venue too. Overall a great experience.
The venue was nice!!! We went to see Kountry Wayne and we’re not disappointed!!! We got early access tickets which gave us access to the the upstairs bar!!! They had food and drink up there and it was set up super nice!!! You could see the stage from every angle and I would love to see another show there!!!
I visited The Met to see Matt Rife on a Friday night. Im fairly certain this was my first time there, although I lived in Philly for 10 years (what was I doing?!).I have nothing negative to say about it other than in regards to the horrible bathroom situation. There just arent enough. Period. By a LONG way. At the end of the show, the line was INCREDIBLY long and not moving at all. I stood there for at least 15 minutes, hadnt moved an inch, and decided that Id find somewhere else to pee. Youd probably be fine in the middle of the show, but who wants to do that?! I never actually saw the bathroom so I cant comment on its capacity, but I can say, unequivocally, that there arent enough. Even at the end of a show, the line shouldnt be that long and stagnant.Other than that, the staff was great. Entry was quick and painless. The bar staff was attentive, fast, and friendly. The ushers were great. Even the parking was fairly easy and I chose to attempt to find street parking. It wasnt difficult and I wasnt more than 2 blocks away. Drinks were fairly priced. The venue was comfortable and clean. All good, really, but the bathroom situation seriously lets them down.
I had a fabulous time here for the Kali Uchis, Red Moon Tour. The Met is a beautiful building. I like the light sign outside of the building that reads “The Met” and took pictures with it. It’s a nice venue. About 4 people passed out at the venue during the concert it was hot on the floor in front of the stage with all the people crowding. The event was also a little disorganized. But since I’m just rating the establishment it’s a nice one. I like the layout of it. It makes sense. Would be happy to watch another concert here. Everything was well kept and clean. Made a beautiful memory here.
Ive been here a few times and really love this venue. The staff is always great. The light rigging is spectacular. The sound is superb. Just be careful if you buy seated tickets, as Ive noticed some sections appear to have an obstructed view. The posted pictures were all taken from Loge 1 row H (a pretty decent spot to be).
Great concert venue was very nice and clean. There is a disconnect between the website and the employees. The website told us that If we bought tickets to the VIP lounge for $20 per person we could use the VIP entrance and would not have to stand in line, but the employee at the door turned us away so we had to go in the main entrance, wait in line, and then make our back up stairs to the VIP lounge, then no one even checked for the $80 worth of VIP passes we purchased, they just let anyone in. So I guess we paid $80 for the knowledge that next time we go, we dont have to pay for VIP we just have to walk in the main entrance and then up the stairs to the VIP lounge for free. If it wasnt for the blatant cash grab lies on the website it would have been 5 stars.
Beautiful venue! The seating was nice to be able to see the whole stage. It was clean in the bathrooms. I wish they were a little more strict with the mask policy since most people were not wearing them when the concert started. Also, they didn’t announce their COVID policy with very much time for people to be ready (vaccinated/tests).
The viewing experience was good for both shows. However, our second show tickets were on the top floor. There is only one modestly sized elevator and only one set of stairs to reach the fourth floor. On a return trip to my seat, there was a long line for the elevator. And after going up the stairs, I was told I had to go back down, since there were no stair or elevator to go up from the third floor. I looked where to find the right set of stairs, only to find it seemingly blocked by people standing around the entryway. By the time I returned to the elevator line, only 3 people were waiting. Still, it was aggravating.
Saw Matt Rife sat 4/27/24, while he gave a good sold out show, the unisex bathrooms make me so livid. There should be an attendant policing it and making sure there is toilet paper in the stalls. It was the 10 pm show and every stall was out. Women used paper towels or bar napkins. The septic tanks got a good workout that night. If you’re going to charge 100 plus a seat, can we at least have toilet paper?!
My wife and I attended the Khruangbin show on May 23rd. I paid a lot of money for what I thought were good seats. We were in the front row right behind the barrier set up for the general admission people. When the show started the huge crowd in the GA section pushed back so hard on the barrier that we were pinned to our seats. I tried pushing back but there were too many people inside the GA section to move it. Putting a movable barrier right in front of the front row of seats was a terrible decision. We had to leave and try to view the remainder of the show from a different location. Several times we were forced to leave where we stood and we ended up in the bar section looking through a window. The whole situation was completely unsatisfactory. I paid a lot of money for those supposedly very good seats and the poor decision to put a GA section with a MOVABLE barrier right in front of them made the show a tremendous disappointment. On top of that, their website lists marijuana as “Not allowed”. Literally half of the people in the venue were smoking joints, to the point where my wife and I could hardly breathe.
Nice historic ambiance available. I saw a Rock concert at this venue and wanted to mention a couple factors in attendance one there are no re-entries to the venue. They offer snacks and beverages and have indoor and outdoor areas to socialize before The show.Pricing was fairly standard for this type of venue. One thing to note was there was a significant quality difference in the acoustics at the venue and a lot of obstructed views in the back half of the orchestra section I would not recommend getting a seat I’ll be very careful to pick a seat in that area as they were also smaller seats.
Whoever is in charge of answering emails deserves to be fired. I was asking about ADA seating and the best they could tell me was to get there “early”. This was vague, and when I asked for clarification, they stopped responding. They also could not guarantee seating, just to get there early. Giving this 2 stars because a worker named Jake saved the day by reassuring me an hour before the show that I could get a seat if need be. HE is a rockstar and deserves a raise. The other staff were great with getting us water and making sure we had a good experience, but the anxiety of the unknown was unnecessary. Do better.
We were amazed at the musical advantage older incredible acoustics gave to the Brit Floyd show on 3/16/22. The venue is stunning, and I would love to experience more shows there. Not a bad seat in the place. Bathroom are unisex, different to have a guy washing his hands while you are. Now, I am sure if you are contemplating attending an event here, you are aware of the recent crime uptick in the neighborhood. I felt completely safe in and around the Met, Philly police and security were very active. We paid the piper and parked across the street for 50 bucks. It was safe, guarded and convenient to the Met, but come on for 50! Enjoy your visit, I hope to return someday.
The Met is one of my favorite venues in the city, from all areas. Ive had great times dancing in the pit, watching from the first balcony with waiter service, or watching from above in the second balcony and seeing all the other fun people. great sound, drinks and tickets are affordable, and the staff makes everything work great.they get great acts! I saw Muna, Billy Porter, and Janelle Monae
Its an ok venue. Could do with more variety of snacks/beverages. Not enough bathrooms. The entryway is small and crowded with zero crowd control from staff, especially for a venue that size. Leg room is ok as long as youre not any taller than 510 or so. The cup holders are the seats are nice in theory, but take up precious leg room.
If you appreciate the old architecture and layout, this is for you. They have bars on both floors and the ushers do a great job of keeping people from disturbing others during the show. The only issue I had was the seating. Yes, its cramped a bit, but thats just the norm with most theaters. My issue was the leg room. I dont have knee issues, but at the 2hr hour mark my knees were singing. The problem is that when you sit, instead of your knees being at a 90 degree angle or greater, your ankles end up behind your knees. Theres really nothing you can do about it, just keep it in mind.
Paid for tickets to a show. Drove to show, there is no parking. The Lot A hold about 10 cars across the street from the place. The other lot we found about a mile away charges $50 to park in a school parking lot. Traffic was gridlock making going from point A to B impossible. I would suggest if you are charging $100 per ticket you should build a parking garage. Center City has more parking. Never again
Went to 100.3 beat r&b fest 2024 at the met . My gf and I sat at ORCH6 we were able to see the stage from our seats but we of course moved up when the performers performed.Music was popping !!! The seats aren’t that big lol if your a big girl like myself and friend with wide hips but there was space for leg room in front of you . Drinks were expensive $22/refill $19 , Shots starting @ $13 . Our mixer was strong but good . Bathroom were clean and staff was nice . We took a Uber up and back a couple did complain about the price of parking and said they should have just took a cab . Over all for the first time at the met myself and my gf enjoyed ourselves.
We enjoyed the Kraftwerk show. However, there were 2 issues. 1st: parking is $50! At the Met Lot. We arrived at the lot, someone was there checking our tickets and a police officer was there. When we returned, no one was there and the gate was wide open. Why is parking $50 when no one is atleast watching over the lot?2nd: our tickets put us at the back ...lower level. We could barely see the stage and this was a 3D show! We spoke to an usher who was kind enough to move our entire party up into a new section where we could actually see the stage and enjoy the 3D features.Met ..why would you sell tickets in the lower Orchestra that customers wouldnt be able to see the 3D show much less barely see the stage? For clarification, there was a large support poke partially blocking our view....the other obstacle was the overhang (concrete support).Other than these 2 issues, the Met is much improved from our last visit. It is definitely worth seeing a show here....just be mindful of where your seats are and where you park.2 of the attached pictures are of: our initial seats and then the much improved seats.
The met is spacious you will have a great view from all angles of the venue...they have a great staff...whoever is in charge of the hiring process I want you to know that you have a great team ! My waitress was absolutely amazing attentive and had such an awesome demeanor...I look forward to visiting again when I can
Great venue for concerts and live shows! Old school opera stage converted into a modern hall with lots of seating and a bar! Parking is hard to find, only street parking in surrounding blocks. Try to take a rideshare or subway there.
We paid extra for boxed seats. The tickets did not say obstructed view or partially obstructed view. This was the view from my seat. Could not see 75% of the stage.. Very disappointed. I understand it may not have been the Mets fault (I blame Ticketmaster), but it definitely affected our experience.
Beautiful historical venue. It definitely feel like a step back in time with updated features and amenities. There are concessions on the main level when you enter as well as on the upper levels, which is super convenient. Not sure if it was the artist equipment, but the sound was distorted, almost sounded muted through the speakers, I wish they would have turned up the vocals louder. The other downside is that parking isn’t the most accessible. Either buy the add on parking through them or scout out parking beforehand. You can find it cheaper with a 5-10 min walk.
The show was awesome! Sound was great! The staff was super helpful and knowledgeable. Concessions were a bit pricey, but nothing to crazy... its what you would expect at a venue. I bought a 16oz Troges Perpetual for $11. Not terrible. Had an absolutely amazing time and I will definitely come back for their other shows!! 10 out of 10
What a fantastic venue! Such classic architecture and the nostalgic vibe of a classic theater. The seats are comfortable and theres plenty of leg room, even for a big guy. The acoustics are solid and theres plenty of bars at which to grab a beverage. Pro tips: There are 3 options for parking - $60 for valet, $50 for the gated lot across the street, and $40 to park about 4 blocks away (I chose the lot across the street and it was very convenient). There is food to order at one of the bars if you cant get dinner first but they cant serve everyone, so order early!
Porter Robinson @ The Met Philadelphia was wonderful. I had an absolute blast in my box seats right to the front left of the stage. From an auditory perspective, I probably would have had a better experience further back,Venue is mostly well staffed, some snarky, some not, it was a roll of the dice.Mask policy exists, wasnt enforced to my knowledge.Food and beverage options are limited to pretty small bites, but there are bars on either side of the venue that are well stocked and it only takes about 10~ minutes to get anything. Kitchen closes after the headliner takes the stage.Solid 4/5 Venue, 5/5 show.
Ronald Twiggs went above and beyond tonight both in professionalism and empathy. I live two hours away (New Brunswick) and i work in Philadelphia, I commute both ways nearly everyday. I came straight from work and he allowed me to store my belongings after seeing how distressed I was over having to bring them with me. I didn’t have another option and his care and attention allowed me to see my favorite band. He deserves more than praise, he made my night and quite frankly my year. I was devastated when I thought I was going to miss this concert due to having to carry my work belongings with me. When I as able to get last minute tickets to this show I was elated. If I had missed it due to coming from work I would have been devastated. He went above and beyond and his kindness is not lost on me. We need more of him in this world. Mr. Twiggs if you’re reading this, thank you, thank you, thank you. I appreciate it more than words can describe in a simple google review. I hope he gets the recognition and blessings he deserves.
What a fantastic place to see a show!Beautifully restored theater with fantastic sound and comfortably cushioned seating. They gouge you on the drinks(alcoholic and non) and snacks though. I guess they have to make up for the money sunk into the resto.Parking is idiotic. $60, $50, and $40 tiered parking. Prepare to walk a bit to avoid that rip off.
The venue was so accommodating to my mother who was recovering from a broken ankle and had limited mobility. Theresa and Pacman specifically went above and beyond for us. Cannot recommend this venue enough!
The matt rife show was great! The security was a bit obnoxious!I had a row seat on the floor. Several different security staff continuously walking up and down the isles blocking the view of the show.Matt rife was specifically doing crowd work he even stated it towards the end of the show and the security was pestering a couple girls across from me for interacting with Matt rife and was telling them not to shout out like that. They was not asked to leave, but they left anyway. Even when Matt rife was interacting with them.Disappointed how the security is run, with them pestering people and blocking the view!
Me & my girlfriend went to see Ashanti, Loyd, Tamia, I parked off of Broad & Girard Ave, We bought drinks it was $23.00 Dollars for the drinks,Refill was $19.00 I only bought 1 drink we sat on 3rd level, Boy O Boy they do not have no elevator @ all!!!! I had the climb so many steps, It was a good show!!! I will be back for other conserts!!!!!!
The auditarium is very nice I was impressed that the bathrooms were clean the facility itself seemed pretty clean. Staff were friendly. Seating was great We were in the Box seats it was a little bit crowded but crowded but we managed. I didnt notice the 4 seats didnt appear to be on top of one another.. The concession prices werent too bad. My only complaint is parking should not be $60 there should be more parking available.
Zero stars to the customer service! Spent over $300 for a ticket that they said was “just” an add on And not an actual ticket. The box office did absolutely nothing to solve this issue. There were multiple people that were scammed into thinking they had tickets for the show. I traveled three hours to get here and now with tickets that have no weight to them. If you’re going to sell an add-on ticket, you should have a requirement to have the base. My tickets said that I had a seat number and cost so much. Customer service don’t seem to care and were rude about figuring it out or helping resolve the issue.
Paid $218 for 2 box seats in LBOX1 (Row A, Seats 5 & 6) for a show I COULDNT EVEN SEE. The photo shows what my view looked like. If I leaned all the way forward on the chair with my butt barely on the seat and craned my neck, I could see SOME of the stage. This venue obviously knows what the view is from this area as I see someone else posted the same complaint, yet when I purchased the tickets there was no warning that the view was non-existent. I obviously would NOT have paid money for these seats and would have chosen a different location (although I see other areas in the venue are an issue as well). At one point I leaned forward even more to try to see what was going on, not realizing that the seat flipped up as I did so, and almost landed on the floor when I went to sit back down, scraping my back on the bottom of the chair. I tried to keep focused on at least listening to the show since the act was good, but kept getting distracted by the fact I paid good money for a show I couldnt even see. Ridiculous. This was the first time at this venue, and I cant say Ill be going back after this extremely disappointing experience.EDIT to add... as I scroll through reviews Im seeing a lot of them that say not a bad seat in the house (exact wording) - I have to wonder if the venue is putting people up to saying that, since obviously there are a number of bad seats to be had here.
Venue looks great. There should be regular box office hours to purchase physical tickets. Everyone doesn’t have a smart phone. Seniors especially. Also, having one person looking through women’s purses is evasive & time consuming! There has to be a more efficient way to thwart weapons being brought in. It isn’t thorough anyway. No one checked my coat. Ridiculous smh
1st time here for me! Not a bad venue at all. Sound was great. Drinks were a little expensive. They could have had the AC on a little more. It was a great time no matter though.
First time at this venue. An old opera house, it has a lovely interior. The acoustics were great as well. They had good options for food and several bars that never seemed overly packed. There was parking nearby and getting in and out was pretty easy. Good artists coming through so looking forward to more shows there
I have been to two concerts here. It is a historic, fairly intimate theatre so there arent too many bad seats, good sound quality and a feeling of community. Access is easy - clear bags or small bags only. They have a beirgarten weather permitting with a bar, DJ and food truck. We had a beer and Liquid Death canned mountain spring water and the Thai vegetable spring roll special. Lots of GF and Vegan choices at the truck and inside snack stands. The merch line is easy to navigate and the bathrooms are close by. The staff are very helpful. Note: we stayed at The Mint at the Divine hotel right down the street and parked at the Giant parking garage on Broad street. The Mint gives a 20% discount on this parking.
Great show, great seats, very gracious staff. I have a disabled son and they went above and beyond to make sure we were well taken care if
Stunning building. It was redesigned very well and has ample seating. I have attended both a concert and a comedy show here and the acoustics were great in both locations (concert in one of the balcony boxes off center and comedy show in the upper level to the side) the view seems to be great from any seat as well. The cost of attending an event there is generally higher but worth attending at least once. Parking is limited in the area so I would suggest public transportation or a ride share.
Nice venue, seats definitely tight. I sat in lodge 2 seats 12-13. Im sure they had an elevator somewhere. But the climb to get to the lodge section was unbearable in heels.. my made it up no problem. We saw Set it off stage play. 2 bottled 20oz sodas $5 each bag of peanuts and a pretzel $5 each but that is to be expected. Enjoyed the show overall I would go back to this venue.
Small, yet energetic. Multiple people made comments about what a beautiful venue it was, especially taking note of the extravagant chandelier. Employees provided water throughout the show to those who needed it. Totally unforgettable experience.
The 110,000-square-foot building at Broad and Poplar streets near Temple University was built by impresario Oscar Hammerstein in 1908. At the time of its opening, it was the largest theater of its kind, a coliseum-style theater with four levels and box seats and 110-foot ceilings and neoclassical decor. It was added to the National Register of Historic places in 1972.
We went to a Joe Russos Almost Dead show at The Met.It was our first time at this venue. Parking was a few blocks away, $30 which isnt too bad for the area. The staff at the venue was very friendly (well as much as can be with a sold out show filled with tons of hippies!)The venue was absolutely beautiful, architecture was stunning. Acoustics were outstanding, even from a few rows away from the stage, in the standing only pit area. During set break it was super claustrophobic trying to exit the one small staircase to get to the lobby/bathroom area. Bathroom was clean and well stocked with TP and hand towels. We are avid JRad friends so it is always a good show, and The Met did not disappoint!!
Decent theatre. Seat layout on the floor could be better and easier to locate but still good. Pricing for food/drinks is what you would expect. Almost 20 for a single drink.
Love this venue.Use caution buying seats on the sides if not in the front row. There may be limited stage views. The rest of the place offers outstanding amenities and great views of the stage. The sound system is legit but may vary by the act youre seeing. The in seat bar service is awesome in select sections.
Attended Deadmau5 Cube V3 Tour on both nights. The venue was smaller than expected, both the lobby and auditorium space quickly became crowded. Whats nice are the seating behind the GA floor for those who rather sit and enjoy the opening shows from afar. In the case of the ladies washroom, there were several stalls that, in any occasion, I never had to wait for an empty one--a great plus imo. And they were kept clean. The security check-in was a breeze and the staff were friendly. Overall both nights were filled with electrifying energy all around and episodes of witty humor from Joel!
Went to There to see Tank. Theater was a bit old but I have no complaints about it. I was in Orchestra 4 section, which was kind of like floor seats. I would go back there again
To Big.Sitting in the mezzanine is like being in the nose bleeds at a football stadium..As with all live Nation / ticket Master venues. Every aspect is Over Priced.Starting with the random any where from 25% to 45% of the value of the ticket, ticket fees imposed.Down to the $10 - 15 beers.Sound wasnt too bad. But that will very by act.
Paid the extra money for the early entry VIP lounge but wasn’t allowed to buy merch before the show. They started letting general admission in as early entry was still being let into the pit because they wouldn’t take us down to the pit before general admission started going thru security. I parked half a mile away at 1416 wood st for 15$ and walked to the venue and then got an Uber back for 9$ (19$ with tip) which was still cheaper than paying 60$ to park across the street. Outside was crawling with bootleg sellers so be prepared for that. Staff is agressive about making people leave immediately. One girl asked for a cup of their complimentary water after the show and was refused. If you want a venue that cares about patrons go to The Mann instead, they let people get merch, food, drinks and use the bathroom after the shows and staff are trained to actually care about the patrons. All in all, I probably wouldn’t go back here unless it was an artist I absolutely love and tickets were dirt cheap.
The experience was a Great one!! Very pleasant, the crowd was awesome. I saw Jacob Collier there and I was blown away. The Met is a Great Venue to experience Great music 🎶🎶
Nice venue, but when I went to retrieve my checked luggage, the lady said I needed to leave the building. This was quite inexplicable. Luckily, I found someone else with more sense, but I will think twice before returning. I was seeing The Black Crowes.
I went to the Lady A concert at the met and it was great! The staff was very friendly and helpful. It is between Temple and city hall on broad street, so there is an abundance of street parking if you are willing to walk a little bit. There are also subway stations for the BSL about a block away in either direction. The building itself is very cool and is reminiscent of an opera house.
I give this place 5 stars because I had an incredible time at the concert that I attended. Not sure why I gave the vibes of carrying a concealed weapon and being pulled off separately from my daughter to go through a metal detector. But hey, at least theyre trying to keep everyone safe.😁
The Met has to do better. It was hot in the theater no air the vendors or concession stands they had were highway robbery $25 for a 10 Oz caprisun packaged drink $15 for a kids size bowl of food. Let me not say even Bill Belamy cracked a joke about how beautiful the pics are of the place he was performing only to be met by the Pepboys auto store with the homeless and drug addicts across the street. The building WAS A DARK AND DINGY the place needs a good ole fashioned clean and freshen up. Its a nice venue but I could have spent my coins elsewhere based on all these things not to mention the 4 blocks I had to park away since parking is almost non existentI dont mean to bash but I wish I had enjoyed myself better if Im going to take my chances of being out amongst a crowd with COVID-19 out here at least let it be a better experience. This is my 2nd show at the Met I though maybe because of everything opening back up in Philly I excused the poor conditions only to be Met with the same my 2nd show... they also have to have hospitality training for the door people they have to do better. The good thing was they booked good talent. Show and entertainment was good but the building needs help.
This theatre was recently restored and is exquisite. The acoustics are wonderful and its a great place to see a concert.
Beautifully redone north philly venue. Good capacity for anyone too popular to play at the Fillmore. Clean, several bars including in and outside the concert area. Prices are steep as expected for parking and alcohol. Parking is available on Broad and surrounding, no need to pay the unbelievable rates if you get there a bit early. If you are getting “unofficial merch” after the show get it quick! They done enjoy our local friends selling knock off shirts! 🤘🏻
This is one of my favorite venues. Ive been in the seats and on the floor. Its intimate but you still have arm and leg room.
A beautiful old theater with nice staff. 1 star removed only because my seat had a slightly obstructed view and they didn’t note it on the ticket.I sat in the VIP section (for Bon Iver in March 2019) which meant no lines at the bathroom and drink service at my seat. There are nearby parking lots for $5/$6 for the whole evening, if you’re willing to walk a few blocks, so I recommend not buying the online $30+ parking passes on the Met’s website.
Beautiful theater, great acoustics, great Norah Jones concert; but getting to and from the Met is a hassle. Parking lots are ridiculously expensive ($50-$100!), subway isnt safe, and getting an Uber or Lyft after an event is a chaotic mess.
We loved seeing Regina Spektor at The Met! Everyone who worked there was super friendly and helpful. Will definitely return!
It doesnt matter where you seat @ the met. The stage is pretty close and you can see the entire show clearly. BE AWARE, DO NOT BRINT BAGS, they wont let you in here with a bag. I wish it was stated when I bought the tix. The entire experience was nice. Got to see the show I wanted to see. The tix prices in the mezaine were affordable.
The Met Philadelphia, located at 858 N Broad St, is a historic venue that has been a cornerstone of the city’s cultural scene since its opening in 1908. Originally built by Oscar Hammerstein as an opera house, it has served various roles throughout its history, including a movie theater, a sports venue, and a church. After years of changing fortunes, The Met was reborn as a concert venue in December 2018, following a complete renovation. Managed by Live Nation, it now boasts the city’s largest performance stage and auditorium, hosting a diverse range of events from concerts to talks, with a capacity of 3,500 people. The Met’s acoustics are internationally recognized, and its historic value is certified by both the Pennsylvania State and National Registers of Historic Places.
Very nice venue, plenty of ways in and good access to bathrooms.4 stars for price of drinks/snacks, but thats typical.
We attended the Alfred Baptist Church Experience at the Met. A beautiful entertainment venue, the sound system was perfect, Met Services were friendly. You must search for Parking Availability for any visit to Philly. They have overnight parking using EZ Parking or street parking meters & you can add money to the meter Electroniclly, you must use the number on the poles. Or use public transportation to the Met.
Saw the Hallelujah concert, had a great time. As for owners of Met Phila. I thought they would have done a better job with the floors (level the floors) they never touch just three a rug on it. They are still scary & horrible from last owners, trying to walk down hillside with shoes (or pumps) For those that have been there they know what Im talking about.
The Parking Lots Cost alot but we easily found Free Street Parking. Right around the corner. We got in Super Fast. But if you use LIVE NATION & Save it to your phone. The Live Nation App wont work anymore. ( it will take its a Screen shot) so you have to use the Gpay or wherever its Saved on your Phone. Stupid. I know.
Please take some time to read this review, although it is lengthy it covers several points that need to be addressed in regards to The Met. I witness The Met receive criticism all the time from concert-goers, yet any complaint is treated as people being unreasonable or are just flat out ignored by the venue.First things first I would like to say that the sound and sight-lines inside your venue are an absolute atrocity. Not only are some seats fully obstructed by hollow beams that seem to serve no purpose (which mind you, are not advertised when buying tickets) but, there are several pockets of the venue where the sound is completely unbearable. I was at the Dr. Dog show on Saturday 9/21 and my ears still hurt, I know several people who had to LEAVE due to how bad the sound was. Every single performance I have seen has been an absolute botch job, whether it be visual or audible, and has left myself and others completely unsatisfied, if not angry. The fact that your venue does not even warn ticket buyers of OBSTRUCTED VIEWS when buying tickets is beyond shameful. The way that you have been introducing premium features such as the lounge indoors, which you advertise as something anyone can attend...until you find out is a 50-60 dollar up-charge on top of an already overpriced ticket. What is most bothersome is you are introducing these premium features while cutting out basic services (such as cleanliness, bar service, proper sight-lines & sound, and just general operations of the venue). The production team you have there is completely careless, your drinks are triple the price (this is not NYC), and the venue, all in all, is just an absolute stain on the city. It is in a terrible neighborhood with nowhere to go before or after the shows, and it is quite frankly, dangerous. At this point, it would take a miracle for me to attend any events at The Met considering how disengaged your entire venue has been to the people who go to the concerts and the feedback. Those people (like me) are responsible for your name, and reputation, and let me tell you...it is not going well for the Met. Word has been spreading like wildfire to avoid any concerts there due to the points raised above. Are you really satisfied with your venue design and operations? or is bad customer service, treatment, tastelessness, and carelessness just representative of your brand? I dont believe for one minute you could or would be.Get your act together.Look at the pictures, arent you so happy customers paid tons of money to see.........a hollow beam, or nothing at all?
I had a a great time at the new Met. A usher an American man showed me the way to a bar closer to my seat. It was a personable experience. However a lady midway through the concert was extremely petty. Yes don’t know her name but she had hair like Elvira but the 2019 version was extremely petty. I stood in the space way BEHIND the seats I paid for and she felt the need to intervene with any and everything she saw me do. I simply was standing and she addressed me hanging my jacket on the below the waste pole and tried to address me standing at all. It was a vibe an Erykah Badu concert (she was amazing)and she was exerting her power for no reason, she was Being extra. Over all my experience was good . She was extraordinarily petty for no reason.
Fantastic old Opera House.Great acoustics, clean restrooms, friendly courteous staff. Plenty of parking lots available.Great place for a concert.
I have been to this venue several times in the last 5 years and I love it. The venue is architecturally beautiful, clean and tidy, parking is always easy, the staff are super friendly and helpful, the bathrooms are clean and non-gender specific, and they run their shows on time. And at our last visit the food and beverage costs were reasonable.(we once made the mistake an ordered a martini- which we should have known better- plastic cup martini for $19 is not my idea of a cocktail)I digress. Its a great place to see music and comedy and I cant wait to go back.
Nice clean secure venue. Beautiful chandelier (see picture) Just be forewarned if you have tickets on the mezzanine upper level, there are about 6 staircases to handle. One person in our party has trouble with stairs but we found an elevator on the opposite side of the building to go down for her so she didn’t have any trouble going down.
This venue is absolutely gorgeous. The 80 million dollar renovation brought this structure back to life. However, our seats were a bit disappointing. We sat in the mezzanine box seat 2. Very high up but, you get a birds eye view of the entire place. But, ee were quite disappointed when Mariah Carey walked up a few steps (a stage prop) and she was GONE! Our view was completely blocked by the wall next to us and what looked like a lot of speakers, stacked on top of each other in the shape of a HUGE letter u. And, right above our heads was a large speaker. And, the seating... barstools covered in red velveteen fabric! LOL I kid you not. In my opinion, it probably would have been a good idea to eliminate this box completely. But then... We may not have been able to afford tickets. Yes, I believe these were the least expensive tickets. And, seeing Mariah Carey was on my daughters bucket list. ( she is 33, btw)So, all-in-all, it was a great experience. However, it may be wise to choose different seats. Then again, I DID like the fact that there were only 4 seats in this box. And, our own private (not really ours) staircase, which gave us fast and easy access to exit this place.Would I return to this venue? Absolutely. Employees were very helpful and very professional. Oh! That reminds me! I forgot to mention the valet parking. Once again, its not a deterrent to returning but thought this was worth mentioning. You can pull up to the front of the place and they will park your car. However, they do not bring your car to you upon leaving They will walk you to your vehicle. Ours was parked around the corner. We didnt mind. I just thought it was worth mentioning. And, they were very friendly.
I had an amazing view from my seats in box 18. I wish the seats were a little bigger, however. Im a tall guy with a little dough in the middle and they felt extremely tight. Thats the only negative. The staff were very very helpful. The bathrooms were extremely clean. Wait staff was very prompt and we had our drinks in no time. Great experience overall.I could see Tori amos play like I was right above her. Amazing.
Wish I could leave a 0 star review. People are scamming people out of tickets for this facility and their only action is to tell people they can buy another showing for full price. Discuted. 30+ others were at the box office with the same issue. Pathetic
Cool place... we saw the group Kraftwerk here in June 2022 at 8pm which was great, but we paid $20 extra each ticket for some Grande Salle VIP experience that apparently included early access to a lounge area by skipping the normal line and had complimentary non-alcoholic drinks, but when we got there at 7:30pm and went to the VIP line the guy at the door said we were in the wrong line and lead us to the regular line that was around the block. The show was cool, but probably not worth the Grande Salle VIP add-on.
The Met is a great place to see a show. Beautiful lobby. Check out the woodwork and paint job. Beautiful chandelier in seating area. Parking can be difficult - get parking reservations as close as possible to the venue. Be careful, alert, and aware walking in the area. There are typically many fans walking on Broad Street before and after the show. Just dont linger, and dont be alone hours after the show.
Awesome venue. Everything was very clean. Main downfall was that the parking was about the price of a ticket. Otherwise, everything was great.
Went to the Met for the first time to see John Legend. One thing the Met has going for it is that it’s a medium sized venue. it’s big enough to fit seats and you don’t have to stand like some of the smaller more intimate places, but small enough where you have a fairly good view unlike the liacouras center or Wells Fargo where depending on where you sit you probably have to look at a jumbo screen.I understand it is a repurposed building but oh my gosh, the seats. The seats! I can’t speak for the ground level, only the loge section, so maybe down on the floor it’s better, but If you are on the smaller, shorter side, you will be fine. If you are above 5’5, wear a size XL or bigger, and you come with someone or sit next to someone like that as well, be prepared to be uncomfortable. Actually, uncomfortable is generous. I would honestly have rather sat in air plane seats for the three hours, that’s how tightly packed the chairs were. No wonder they require vaccinations or negative tests (which I appreciate regardless) for entry because you are right up on the person next to you. I wasn’t expecting luxury seats as if we were in a private box/section, but sheesh. Luckily John and the rest of the musicians were beyond fantastic, so I didn’t let it stop me from enjoying the show, but I don’t think I could go back. It’d have to be someone I love and I’d spring for the special seats. The other reason I can’t rate it too high is that even for venue prices, drinks were high and not worth it. I know venues are trying to recover after being closed for months, so I actually don’t mind the upcharge, but still, If I am going to pay ~$20 for a drink (a double), I should at least have a buzz when I finish it.I will say the staff I interacted with was lovely. So that was a high point. If I could review them separately, they’d get five stars.I know it’s a historic building and that’s why the seats are like that, but I really, really, hope that’s a change they make in the future. Probably not, though— people are still gonna come.
Awesome! Got to see Bob Dylan. It was beautiful. A little peeved that they kept my knife from security though. It was a small pocket knife that was a gift that I use for protection walking around the city alone. Totally forgot i all had it on me. They couldnt even hold it until after the concert. Said they were all destroyed. In 2 hours? I can get another pocket knife, but I cant get that particular gift back.
First off, the theatre is beautiful. We were lucky to get a parking spot directly across the street; $60 but we split it 4 ways. We had box seats on the side and had our own quick and easy entrance, with basically a private bar and bathroom. On the other hand…we were sent to the elevator with the gold doors. Another employee told us no such elevator, and he directed us to the sole elevator with silver doors. We saw Brett Goldstein last night. We enjoyed what we could hear; the sound was absolutely atrocious! In fact, we didn’t even comprehend most of the opening comic. For what we paid, we were quite disappointed that we couldn’t enjoy his show as much as we would have liked. On the way downstairs in very dark stairwells, I could only imagine how we would have all been trapped in an emergency!
Nice venue on Broad Street. Here for the very first time. Easy access from I 95, I 676 and I 76. Parking around the corner was expensive, $35, but any parking in Philly is expensive. Nice view of the stage from the Loge. Leg room of seat a little tight, so not ideal for anyone who has some height. Very friendly and helpful ushers and other staff. Decent selection in from the concession, however it is very expensive. 2 bottles of water, 1 soda, 2 soft pretzels and a draft beer - $37.Highway robbery, if you ask me. So its a good idea to eat before you get here. Bathroomd were very clean. For the number of people here, they were spotless. All in all a good first experience.
Really beautiful venue! The staff were helpful and did their part to keep everyone masked up. The space was perfect for live music. Came here to see St. Vincent with my partner, and it was easily one of the best shows I’ve experienced!Downside: the drinks are SO overpriced. I’d generally expect that from a venue, but we bought a $23 margarita which came in a keepsake shaker that doesn’t even close. Honestly, I’d suggest saving your money by visiting a nearby bar before or after the show.
