I went into this bar a couple different times because I had to pee and no other bathroom was available. The bar staff sucked. I needed to spend money to use the ladies, ok fine I played a dollar in the vp machine, won $6 in the end, and so cashed out. The bartender and a woman I can only assume was an owner? Were speaking to about me when I approached the bar and I heard them refer to me as the big winner in a tone dripping with contempt. So I took my $6 winnings and did not tip despite not actually buying food or drink. I always kinda thought I liked this bar, or would if I drank which I dont... The attitude of the owner? And the bartender however ruined it for me. Seriously I havent been in high school for over 20 years but it completely took me back. Bummer.
I love this cozy bar on the east side. Their food is delicious and the service has always been great. Its one of those places that is perfect for either grabbing a drink with a friend or just riding solo and sitting at the bar. Its unique style and atmosphere is why its on my Best of Portland list 🙂
The food here is amazing. The salsa is some of the best I have had since moving here. One of the few places this meat lover will actually order vegetarian dishes.
Visiting from out of town, excited to venture through Portland, I witnessed the most disturbing and disgusting behavior towards customer and her friend. I witnessed people yelling and was shocked after it settled down I talk the two young ladies being berated by the OWNERS, simply asking them nicely to put a dog on a leash. I have never been more mortified in this kind of behavior. Dogs off leashes where I’m from could result in tickets and a dog taken away. A simple request and the reaction from older people especially owners was disgusting. Portland needs to do better….smh
I originally thought this was a super meat heavy place, but they do have a good few options for vegetarian meals, they also accommodated a vegan in our group. Food was good, mimosas were large, id have to say Bare Bones is a pretty good place. Great for groups. Also theres ample bike parking and outdoor seating. Games in the back.
If i could give no stars i would. the way the OWNERS and friends of owners handled a situation was terrible. they had their dog off leash and it came up to another dog who was on a leash. the leashed dog began to become defensive/protective, naturally for some dogs to be when an unwanted interaction is happening. and the owners refused to try and bring their dog back to the table, and started yelling at folks and calling them names and telling them they were not welcome once asked to put their dog on a leash because it lives here. absolutely disgusting and disrespectful behavior, especially when they are whities on native land, with paying indigenous customers. i was not even involved in the whole situation which lasted about 30-40 minutes but i witnessed it all and paid close attention and heard multiple sides of the stories, but disrespect to that level for a valid request to put your dog on a leash is unacceptable and i will never be coming back. also ill let my friends know not to cometo bare bones.
The patio is always packed! Good vibe. Great food and fast service. The inside is dark and dingy (in a good way) and there’s a ton of seating in the patio both covered and uncovered.
My favorite brunch spot! Its generally pretty quiet, which I appreciate. The staff is wonderful every time Im here. The food is simple and always great quality. Its kind of a no-nonsense place, hence the name, but theyre not rude about it or anything. They have board games if you want to stay a little longer, and the music seems to always be boppin without being too loud for sensitive ears. It would have been cool for the murals to also have bones, but the murals are cool regardless 😋
My go to. Its a great place to eat. Use the WiFi. Its not the cheapest place to eat but you cant go wrong with any of the food here. My favorites are the roasted turkey sandwich with German potato salad as the side. Other favorites are bbq pork sandwich, grilled cheese with tomato soup and blt. The coffee, tea, beer, and ciders also hit the spot.
Great place, good coffee, could manage to have a few more drinks available.
An exceptional little cafe & bar. The cook and bartender are excellent. The atmosphere is dive bar is intentional and I can only guess beloved by the regulars. I would be a regular too if I was closer. The grill work is a exceptional, a masterful show of temperature. Creating the perfect cheese melt with a dark and crispy fridge and no burn. This place isnt going to win any michelin stars but definitely shouldnt be skipped.A great place to meet some friends.
For so many years Bare Bones has been there for when you need espresso coffee, breakfast, or just a great sandwich and a beer.
I would give zero stars if I could. Absolutely zero respect for disabled humans.I came into your establishment last night. My friend was buying art at the market in your cafe. We went to the bar next door to grab a drink.I looked up at the screen menu on the was only their tap list. I’m not a drinker, so I asked for a menu. The bar tender responded telling me to use the QR code. I don’t have the ability to do that on my phone, and as a neurodivergent person with learning disabilities, I struggle with technology immensely.I said out loud that I’m not able to view that menu. And all I got was a dismissive “oh sorry.” And the bartender moved on to taking my friend’s beer order. She looked at me and asked “do you know what you want?” “Well no, I haven’t been able to look at a menu.” “Sorry.” She walks away to get my friend’s beer.I turn to my friend and say “this is one of the most classist and ableist ways to view a menu that I have ever seen.” At this point I’m bubbling with anxiety and close to an autistic meltdown inside a bar. The bartender got back with the friend’s beer. The friend asked if they had any French fries (I was hungry… and again… sober.). “No we have like chips.”I responded with “forget it. I don’t need anything.” As they were wrapping up the beer purchase… I asked if there was free soda for sober drivers at this bar. “What do you want? Actually, I don’t think I should give you anything with how rude you’ve been.” “I haven’t been rude to you, I’m direct and _autistic_.” Bartender doubles down on not being willing to serve me now… and I threw up my hands being so done with this disrespectful young woman. This was a young (20’s maybe) thin white passing presumably cis woman. Short bob hair maybe. I think their was some green dye involved.I left the bar heartbroken and seeing in yet another establishment that I won’t be respected unless I wear a placard around my neck.I do intend to come back in today once the bar is open and speak with a manager now that I’m not having a neurodivergent meltdown based on your employee’s behavior. This is truly putting an autistic person through a meat grinder.
A very eclectic environment, good food and service.
I ordered two items thirty minutes ago...One person can work more efficiently then that, and there are at least that many people working. At this point, it really doesnt matter if the food is amazing. The turn around is too damn long.
When I came back to Portland a year ago, I was glad to find this place still exists. I dont live close anymore, but I still manage to visit now & then. Both the cafe & bar are great. The bar can get wildly busy, creating long wait times.
My wife and kids stopped by here to have a quick lunch in between soccer games this past Sunday. I have to say that the food was fantastic. My wife had the breakfast burger that had this awesome rosemary gravy over the top that was perfect. I had the pastrami ruben and my waitress suggested the German potato salad as a side which both were great! Our kids had plain hamburgers that they each wolfed down as well. The service was great as well! We look forward to stopping by again soon.
Great drive bar. Friendly fast staff.
Completely ignored even though we were the only people there besides one at the bar. The employees were talking to each other though. We felt very unwelcome. We were trying to be kind, and left a good tip, but it felt like we walked into a club where we werent invited. Very awkward environment. Our food was ok. They brought the wrong potatoes out and the server recognized it before we did, and the correct ones came out later, which was fine, I get it. But they tasted like they werent washed... They tasted like they had dirt on them and were still a bit raw. I guess they just wanted us to leave. And we did. Dont worry, we arent going back. You wont have to see us again.
The Bare Bones Cafe side is a great place to grab a coffee and chill with your laptop. And then if you are ready for a beer or cider, you can head over to the Bar side. Stomach rumbling? A small but tasty menu of treats will fill your stomach, and at a fraction of those McMonalds ripoff joints around town. The staff is always friendly and cool. But then WAIT. In the back of the bar is about 4 pinball machines and one of those sandy shuffleboard thingies! The atmosphere is chill, the ourdoor seating is great, and yes, there is a giant werewolf on site, in case you were wondering. Im not sure what his name is, he doesnt talk much. If you find out what it is, please be sure to post it in your future 5 star review.
Im not vegan by any means, but the grilled cheeses here would make the idea palatable even to me. Whether youre looking for a dark bar to keep working on your novel in, or meeting someone for what will inevitably be an awkward first date (leading to an even worst second one) - I can promise the drinks (or slushies, time of year depending) are worth the stop. Great staff, and the outdoor seating is abundant (covered and uncovered options).
I love being here. The whole staff is great and friendly, always patient and helpful. Very reasonably priced menu with delicious eats for any time of the day. Also with an adequate and good selection of beer. Plenty of seating, dark and earthy tones fill the room giving very comfortable and cozy vibes. A good mixture of music differeing between who is working. Definitely check it out!
Just had brunch there! Only in portland for medical appointments. I wanted to sight see while I was here! My partner suggested this cafe. Atmospheric, and welcoming! We felt right at home and among friendly faces! The eggs were delicious and the chai was subtly sweet. I could really appreciate the true flavors of the tea leaves. Partner had a breakfast burger and espresso. They can never find good espresso in town but here they’ve found it! We will definitely visit again next time we’re in town!
We love this place. GREAT happy hour; daily 4-7p. Daily specials as well. Their vegetarian tacos are actually pretty dang good especially for $5 on Tue and I think it even came with a PBR!Decent amount of taps. Jello shots and liquor slushies! Gambling, pinball, shuffle board, 2x pool tables, outdoor seating. This place had it all. Service is a little slow but I like to think its just b/c of how lax the environment...no rush here
Ive tried to go here three times and its been overwhelming each time. A couple of things: theres never anywhere to sit up front. Theres always 1 or 2 people at large tables who refuse to share. The wine choices are abysmal: Portland is in a huge wine region, why are you serving 17 Crimes? I guarantee your distributor has at least *one* Oregon wine. Its definitely not a good place for trivia..no seats in the front and tons in the back, yet trivia is in the front. I probably wouldnt go back.
I hate to post negative reviews, but my experience was just not good. Ill add specifics, but I can really boil it down to one issue: the food was bad.The menu on the walls is huge which seems nice at first until you go to order. I asked if it was possible to get my sandwich on a different bread than the multigrain listed, the server told me the sandwich I wanted didnt come on multigrain and said it like I should know, even though the menu clearly said differently. That by itself might have been fine, miscommunications happen and I certainly couldnt memorize a menu of that size and variety, but then the food itself was bad.My grilled cheese came with so much mustard it was dripping off of every side and there was hardly any cheese in it. My partners sandwich had scalding hot bread and lukewarm fillings, it had clearly been microwaved, which might have been fine for another sandwich, but this one had greens on it. The greens were sour and bitter and made the sandwich basically inedible, they took two bites and left the rest.I was there during an off time, so Im sure that was a contributing factor, but for our food to be so bad, I dont imagine it could possibly improve enough between lunch service and dinner that I would ever want to go back and risk it.The worst part is I got the grilled cheese because I thought it would be impossible to mess up.I think this is a classic case of an understaffed place with absent management and overworked staff. If they simplified the menu, focused on dishes that could be reliably reproduced in a delicious way every time, and supported their staff better, I would go back. Until then, if my friends ask if I want to eat here I will beg to go anywhere else.An edit for the owner, since its unclear how they want me to respond to them: First, the menu clearly stated that the grilled cheese would have mustard on it, its part of why I ordered it, I just didnt expect there to be that much. I added a screenshot of your menu from your website to show that I am remembering correctly. The Ham and Gouda Grilled Cheese comes with stone ground mustard. Second, I feel uncomfortable giving more details about my experience so that you can chastise your staff when clearly you do not even know your own menu. My service was not bad, your staff was helpful and did their jobs. The food was just bad and its not something that could be fixed easily.I understand that negative reviews arent good for your business which is why I dislike giving them, but I also think people deserve to know when a place is no longer delivering on the promise of good food. I could see your staff were working hard, so the fact that the food was bad is indicative of some larger issue and, given the few opportunities people have these days to go out and eat, I think wed all prefer to support businesses that support their staff and have good food.
Terrible service, i waited for 25 minutes and when i finally got my food it was cold and undercooked. I called back to get a refund and the person taking calls told me to never come back and shouted at me the entire phone call. The cashier was also ignoring me the whole 25 minutes i waited. All around not a good dining experience.EDIT:After i posted this review I was 86d from the premises, and when i reached out to the staff i was harassed and attacked by one of their employees. I work in customer service and i would never treat someone like this if they came to me with such an experience, it was wild, and i didnt even plan on coming. I hope this helps someone stay away from this place, people do not deserve to be treated this way.
First time posting a review on Google. First time ordering a drink at a bar in Portland. This was my first drink of the night. The bartender failed to ring in my drink on the computer, so when I asked to close my tab, she didnt have one for me. She believed that I had already closed my tab. She said that I was rude for wanting to pay for my drink and leave with my credit card. She believed that since I had no tab in the computer, that there was no way that my card was behind the bar. She never returned my card or charged me for my beer. She made no effort to look for my card behind the bar. Maybe she had drank too much to remember what did or didnt happen over the last 20-30 minutes. Now at the start of my two week vacation my card is gone because someone was careless.
Enjoyed several meals here on a visit from New York. Food is absolutely delicious, atmosphere is inviting and fun, and the owner is a total rock star. If I could give it more than five stars, I would. Highly recommended!!
Nice environment. Also way cool with letting one sit and work on computer forever. Yall saved the day. Awesome, full custom breakfast sandwich menu. Great game room that connects cafe side to bar. Patient, nice staff.
I really enjoy this cafe! The atmosphere is relaxed and a great place to get work done, create, chat and snack. The staff has always been friendly and helpful and Ive yet to have a bad meal here. While this cafe (and the bar nextdoor)is pretty awesome I have to admit I would go there waayyyy more often if I didnt leave feeling like I was covered in grease and smelling like I just worked the longest kitchen shift. IDK if something can be done about the ventilation but each time I consider going to this spot, I hesitate and consider if I can stand smelling like kitchen grease the rest of the day. Wish this wasnt the case!
Café or bar? Your choice! Its 10 AM and you need to work remotely, you hang out in the café. Its now 2 PM and time for a cocktail because work is driving you crazy, so you move to the bar. Best of both worlds with coffee and booze. Food is pretty solid, too!
Want delicious brunch? Cheeky midday drinks? Daily happy hour? Late night drinks? Check, check, check and check! Bare Bones may be my favorite Portland dive bar. If you want less of a dive bar scene, opt for the cafe next door. Also Im pretty sure theyre open everyday of the year.
We were having a nice time here last night celebrating a birthday, having some drinks, and getting the birthday boy some vending machine packs. However, one of the bartenders came up to someone in our party accusing all of us of not tipping. It was pretty bizarre. I bought a round and left a tip before that happened. Now I kind of wish I hadn’t.
WOW - my new fave SE spot! Been here twice now and just love it! Renee is wonderful and very inviting.Cafe is a fun, bright open space with a super chill vibe.Everything Ive ordered is absolutely fantastic and way above par. Best iced tea Ive had outside of Texas. Food has an extra touch to it that makes it so yummy! They obviously care about what they do and are doing it right.Worked from here with great, free wifi, and lots of power outlets. Quiet enough to focus but loud enough to make occasional phone calls without feeling awkward.Glad I have an apt nearby, otherwise, Id try to rent space, haha. In lieu of that, I will be back often!Thank you, Bare Bones Cafe!!!
I go here all the time for the chill atmosphere. I love working on my computer here for a few hours in the evenings, and eating brunch here on the weekends. The employees are cool people who play an eclectic mixture of music in the café. They sell delicious happy hour food, and theyll also fill a coffee tumbler for $1.
This cafe has a very comfortable atmosphere (why I did not give it only 1 star). All I had this day there was a toasted Everything bagel with butter, but it happened to be one of the worst bagels Ive eaten. It was low quality, a little soggy, not very hot (by the time it got to me) and did taste good; a bit too sugary. Previously, I have had coffee and their toasted bread and both were very good, but I cannot recommend the bagels, which cost $4.00. I could have had a good slice of cheese pizza from Baby Doll Pizza several blocks away for only $3.25. Sorry to say, I felt ripped off.
Decent place for a sandwich or salad. They were out of a few menu items when we went and didnt offer brunch at all because they had just catered an event. Food was good but the lack of a brunch menu and several of the lunch items will probably make me look someplace else next time
The food was so tasty and we got the best seat in the house! Low-key, self bussing, and they could use a little bit more attention to cleaning the tables, but I really liked the feel of the place and got some really good comfort food here.
Went to get some grilled cheese sandwiches and tomato soup. Was sick, so was thinking that would be good for comfort food.. It was way overpriced and tasted awful. This tasted NOTHING like tomato soup. Very disappointed. Im not even exaggerating but this was the worst tomato soup I have EVER tasted. Grilled cheese sandwich was a bit soggy and greesy. I could have made the same exact thing at home for very cheap. I dont recommend eating here.
Great prices on food and drinks. Staff is well spoken and friendly. All in all a nice place to hang out with friends on a weekend. Gets crowded on saturday’s , friday’s , so you would like to get a reservation done well in advance. Prime location so getting a means of transport to get back home is not an issue. There is no connection between the Bar-name and the ambience. Do not expect anything in that department 😛
Overall Id give this place a 5 star. The main favorable features is the service(very kind and helpful), the quality for the price, the range sold there(beer, coffee and food) and the size! The place is huge and wraps around to the bar area. Its a weird in a good way, cozy place.
Two stars because I liked the aesthetic of the place and had some nice artwork, but the food and drinks were awful. Ordered the ahi sandwich which was tough, over done and smothered in a gross sauce I can only guess to mask the flavor of the fish. The bloody mary mix tasted liked spiced ketchup. The first drink I attempted to order, they didnt have the ingredients for.Edit: added an additional star because the owner clearly cares about their business and patrons. To the owner, I appreciate your generous offer, but am going to decline at this time.
I love this place.Great atmosphere, very friendly staff.I got the Fried Chicken and Biscuit and an everything bagel with cream cheese. It was all very very good.Reasonably priced too! Can’t recommend it enough.
The cafe side is my current favorite neighborhood breakfast place. The food is good and prices are reasonable. Theres plenty of space to hang with friends for a leisurely coffee and you can get drinks from the bar on the other side of the building. Win!
I called to place an order and the person who answered asked me to hold on a second. I waited and they never picked up the phone. About 30 mins of waiting and hearing them take orders, welcoming new customers, talking about emersion blending to the cooks etc. Was really disappointed in the service they provide. They have good food but its not worth the terrible service. Unless your buying drinks or have a big top you arent treated like valued customer.
Nice staff. Food quality was ok. Lots of skeleton artwork. Nearby table of healthy bike delivery-type people . Talked about tattoos- they should be paid for advertising products on their body. My brother is very particular about his food, but doesnt express correctly his needs sometimes. He did like the pork sausage.
Everyday is halloween at this gay friendly bar! The chicken nachos are amazing! I ate every last bite! They had round chips and nacho sauce not shredded cheese. Soooo good.
This place has everything you could want. A great happy hour, fantastic food, good music, interesting decor (we went around Halloween and they really went all-out), and the staff is good too! On my list of places to bring friends who visit from out of town, which is about the highest praise I can give a place.
Food is so good! And the pint glass mimosas are genius. Was in the area for a few nights, and usually I like to try all sorts of different places, but we were hooked! Went back almost daily!
Local in the neighborhood, i have frequented this spot for a while but no longer probably. the low score is for only one reason:have you ever walked into a place and realize the business owner has given up? i mean, super old stuff, filthy walls, broken booths and chairs, completely understaffed (order at the bar, bus yourselves, and wait for the one overworked barback/server/tender to give you attention)? a good-not-great menu where the only thing updated in 5 years are the ever inflating prices? yeah, this is that place. dont invest in a business that doesnt invest in itself
One of my favorite Portland haunts. The cafe is tasty for breakfast, lunch and dinner while the bar is everything you want from a dive bar. Definitely a good neighborhood place to make a favorite.
We came in for the first time today and had some sliders deviled eggs and a couple beers. We enjoyed it. We also got to play some pin ball too very unique place to hang out.
I really want to like this place more than I do. Gonna give it another shot when things fully open again. Food is good, just something felt off when I was in... You should always give a place two chances, everyone has an off day. Again good food, just the vibe was a bit off.
10/10! if youre looking for a low key monday, Bare Bones is the place! to! be! great drinks (get the dirty shirley, you wont regret it)! food for all, well ABOVE average bar food, prepare to have your socks knocked off!!
Favorite bar in SE currently! They DON’T skimp on the drinks and With fair prices, outdoor seating, and great music playing always! Recently I tried the breakfast at the cafe and was extremely pleased!!
Place is pretty cool and the staff was very pleasant. Feels like a small town bar with great beer and light food that tastes great. Would definitely be a regular if I actually lived here
I always like coming here. They have pretty good happy hour specials, and trivia on Thursdays is always pretty popular. We come here sometimes to study after work on weeknights. Not too quiet but not too loud
Friendly staff, wide and tasty variety on the menu, great beer on tap and good liquor on the shelf. 5 out of 5! Get the pastrami!
This place is the best. Its probably my favorite neighborhood cafe/bar! Employees are awesome, food is delish, and the artwork is always changing. Super cool spot- highly recommend!
The vegan sandwich I got was amazing! Portobello mushrooms with veggie sausage, hash browns, avocado, and hummus on ciabatta bread! Service was good, drinks were great, and brunch was amazing!!! Definitely recommend!
Good cheap food isnt completely dead yet in Portland. If youre bar hopping or drinking in the neighborhood this place is a great option to get a beer and some food and keep going.
Love the outdoor patio here! great dive to have a first date or to meet up with friends.
If I remember correctly Bare Bones Bar is attached to the cafe. How I remember how stiff the drinks were Im not sure, I actually spent a significant amount of time here when I was in town last. Always a great time. Make a point to go to trivia night. Maybe its different now but I remember Bare Bones setting the bar for me and how I judge trivia at other bars. Oh yeah when you peel yourself off your stoop in la manana go over and get a coffee from the cafe.
I ordered the Lamb Gryo, and Pecan blue cheese Salad with a mimosa. It was DELICIOUS! friendly customer service. 10/10 ❤️
Food here is great. Also a very nice open space to hang out while you eat and drink..
This place could be cool, came at the wrong time. Two stars is for everything there, the lack of three stars is for poor service. To be fair, I came in around 2:30--after traffic dies down. Medium coffee was warm and dripping, dark coffee was legit cold and dripping. I told the gal that the medium coffee was lukewarm and asked if she could replace it. She kindly said yes and disappeared into the kitchen. After 20 minutes, I asked a new girl managing the front if she could replace the coffee. She proceeded to charge me, but I told her I already paid. She nodded. After 15 minutes, I asked her again. She asked if I was getting more. I told her that the coffee was out. She said okay. After 10 more minutes I proceeded to lean through the door of the kitchen, I just want coffee. She brought it out promptly smiling. I dont care why it took 45 minutes, it was just plain ol poor service.Garden burger is tasty, but not gardeny (brown patty on white bun with lettuce). Salad was leaves and dressing. The coffee taste good.
Consistent, friendly, quirky spot with good food, vegan options and plenty of space. Greeted with an enthusiastic “what’s up dawg?!” and some well-curated 90’s punk rock.
Great spot for breakfast sandwiches and coffee in the morning. Spend the afternoon and night on the other side. Great bar food menu and daily specials. Welcoming crowd, great staff, local art. 10/10
Honestly, just keep walking. Then staff was a bit rude. Im a van-lifer who gets coffee every day. Some days, I look scruffier then others, and on the day I went to this shop, I hadnt washed my hair in three days. Maybe that was why they glared at me and my friend when we walked in (I swear one said, You know you have to buy something but denied it when I asked), reminded both of us that we only get one free refill, and just generally implied we werent welcome.Objectively, the coffee was so-so (Vienna Roast was ashy, couldnt try the French Roast because they were out and seemed annoyed when I asked) the music was so-so (dad rock Pandora) the bathroom was so-so. There are about a million coffee and tea shops on this block and we came to this one because it looked unpretentious. Unfortunately, I left feeling very judged.
My favorite bar/cafe in portland. great staff, excellent food, generous bartenders & overall chill environment
I thought this establishment would have a more earthy, cabin-like vibe, but there were no hog heads, no dear heads, and definitely no bear bones. The drinks were good and I really liked the brunch bagel.
Plenty of vegan options, a great crew, delicious food, and the ambiance was amazing. This place feels like old Portland. Aggressively chill. Youll love it.
Bare Bones has quite literally my favorite Bloody Mary and biscuits & gravy in town. The rest of the food, however, is sometimes my absolute favorite, and other times is terribly disappointing. But I always come back for the crapshoot, because hey, its worth it, and its a freaking dive bar, what do you expect!
Been coming here for 8 years, cause its on my block and meets all my needs. From coffee and breakfast to dinner and a drink, pool, pinball, sports tv, its a great Portland spot, great crowd.
Fantastic spot for a low key Sunday breakfast. Delicious biscuits and gravy, readily available coffee, upbeat music, and super sweet staff.
Delicious biscuits and gravy, drinks, and sliders! 🤤The bartender was very friendly and helpful and made us feel like we were friends!
Love this bar, love the bartenders, and Ginger is the best!!! Love her and all the service there!!! Love the sense of community here. Great place for bomb food and a stiff drink with great company!
The dankness in a low key setting. One day I saw this postmates driver flip out on the cashier and the whole crew was not having it. Badasses, all of them. Oh and the chicken curry salad is bomb
Chicken fried steak was one of the best I’ve had! Barista was very kind:) Very good!
Great food and laid back atmosphere. Easy to get some quick work done, read casually, or visit with friends or staff. Love Renee!
Pretty nice dive bar. The wait staff is friendly, they have a few menu items that might surprise you for a dive bar, and they have a decent drink selection.
Stopped in here for a cappacino today and it was the best cappacino Ive had in years. The foam was perfect and the espresso was delicious. Definitely worth a shout out for this place.
Called to set up a time for a company lunch and had a few questions. I asked to speak with a manager or owner. The owner Joah, came to the phone. I introduced myself and my company (which i planned to bring in the next week for lunch) and the very first thing Joah said was You know were a restaurant right? I replied yes He then said You know what time it is right? I said Yes it is 1:30 He then asked why the hell I would call a restaurant during lunch hours? I couldnt believe it. He then promptly hung up on me. I would never in a million years treat someone that way over the phone. Service starts at the top then works its way down. With that kind of rude tone over the phone I can only imagine how snobby the service must be. Call and ask for him and see for yourself. arrogant and smug
Dragonfly tea is poorly made. Too little tea leaf, too many spices. Chicken waffles were okay. For $30 for breakfast for two Id expected much better.
Great dive bar with a menu that includes(but is not limited to) breakfast served all day! Large gathering area in the back with pool and pinball. Trivia on Thursdays
Apparently the bar is not open in the afternoon but the lady was really rude to me and when I went in there shes like oh were not open right now but the cafe is around the corner there are two dogs in there so I would not recommend this place to anyone because of their attitude rude so I will be back
Delicious and affordable coffee and tasty no frills breakfast sandwich... Great experience overall for a neighborhood joint. Well be back!
Its a bar that has some snacks and CBD drinks for when you need to slow down. Patio is dog friendly. Highly recommend.
Great prices, great service, great food, great pinball! Bonus points for the best vending machine ever. All around an outstanding bar.
Bar is that fun classic dive, queer friendly, great staff! Food menu on the cafe side creative and tons of options.
The bar staff here was great and the frozen drinks were a hit amongst my friends on a rare hot day in Portland
One of the most underrated breakfasts in Portland
My favourite neighbourhood cafe. Owners are welcoming and coffee is good. Good selection of 90s hip hop too.
Its been a while since Ive been here (Moved out of OR) but it was my favorite no nonsense lunch spot. I would settle in to a cup of coffee and a cheesesteak and all was right in the world for a moment.
Always a good time. Fairly priced, roomy physical layout, variety of seating options, and good drinks.Pinball, pool, and shuffleboard onsite.
A few pool tables, great food, tons of space; cheap drinks. Lots of pinball. Plus a Johnny Mnemonic machine (hard to come by; left flipper sticks)
Dope bar with a nice patio and hard working staff. The happy hour on Monday was wild—$3 well drinks y’all get it 👌💕
The food is amazing. The staff is friendly. This place is so incredibly Portland. Whats not to love?
We discovered this place due to a MercPerk. Its not terribly expensive, but it feels more like a coffee shop that offers food than an actual restaurant. GF options for those that need it.
Order some takeout from here. Give the independent owners your business during these times. They make a great reuben!! We need these kind of businesses around!!
Food is pretty decent for bar food (tuna deviled eggs were alright), but they have pretty great prices on good beers.
This place has the best menu for gluten free folks. It’s seriously hard to choose and I go here all the time. Love this place.
Outdoor seating is super appealing and the patrons and staff are friendly. Very inclusive :)
