We had about 6 hours to kill before our flight. Wanted to find a spot to watch some of the WNBA All Star game. Loved that they had the game on multiple tvs and volume up. Awesome eclectic guest patrons. Looked like folks from every walk of life.Food was pretty good. I had the Denver burger no bacon. Solid pick, a little heavy on the jalapeño cream cheese but great flavor. Husband got fish and chips. Good choice. Cool spot with great vibes.
Fun place but food was not great. I got the salmon tacos and was done after two bites because it was not good. A friend got the fish and chips and the fish was extremely dry. We also got wings as a table and those were also super dry. Maybe it was an off night or something or maybe we ordered the wrong things but I was a bit disappointed in the quality of the food. The one thing that was pretty good was the fried avocado!
Stayed in SLC for a night, and honestly I am so happy I found this place. The vibe was perfect, the rooftop was exactly what I wanted. No A/C but they have awnings, fans and a slight mist up there. The service was good, & the food was also good. Wish we were spending more time here so I could come back! 10/10 recommend.
This is a great old building and it has a good atmosphere. The service was great, the server was cheerful, helpful, and attentive. The downfall is the food and the prices. Lunch for 3 was $103 before any tip! I had an Angus Burger and it was served way overcooked. The meat was dried out and even crunchy and the cheese was like leather it was so overdone. Either they dont know what a juicy burger is, or they have an under experienced cook. There was some online hype about their chicken wings being the best in Salt Lake City, but they werent. Overall, this is not a place to go for good food.
Service was great, food was good - nice fun place to pop in for a brew and bite! Tried the Chili Verde Nachos and the pork was tender and flavorful - tastes homemade in a delicious way! The Reuben was fantastic and discovered Uintas Brewing here!
Great food, even greater people! These guys are total professionals but still have that je ne sais quoi that make up any valuable waitstaff. Stick around long enough and you’re bound to hear a funny quip or two, the kind of thing that elevates Green Pig from “just another downtown bar” to a place of real care and community.
I went for the Pride day celebrations and was amazed at the Green Pig’s ability to handle such large crowds. All the staff was on top of it! Even with hundreds of people and large crowds the wait time for food and drinks were not affected. Staff were so friendly and attentive. They were well prepared for the day! Amazing job Green Pig!
A pretty substantial extra charge was added onto my credit card after we grabbed 2 drinks here yesterday. I called about it the following day and was told they were too busy to help me and there was nothing they could do today. I understand you were busy, but I am also customer in that moment and I should have been treated with the same level of priority as someone currently at the space and ordering a beer. Horrible customer service.I wont be returning to this bar any longer.
I had an amazing experience at the green pig and big kudos. To the server that served our table. Her name was Jess. She was so fast at providing us quick and speedy service when it came to our drinks and our appetizers, and our entrees.I would highly recommend that if you are in Salt Lake City, you go to The Green Pig and ask for Jess in specific because she is so good at everything that she does.
Really great bar. Staff is always very attentive. Never feel like Im waiting long for another drink. Food is pretty good for bar food. They do a great trivia night on Wednesdays thats really fun but you need to make reservations ahead of time. Not sure how frequently but they do have music sometimes. Last time was st Patricks day that I saw music there. All in all just a great place to hang out with lots of TVs if you want to watch a game.
Everything was great but I learned one huge and important lesson: I dont like blue cheese. Ill never again in my life order anything with blue cheese. Food was otherwise perfect and yummy!
A nice bar; had a nice view on the 2nd floor to enjoy and relax while you eat & drink.I ordered a salmon salad and house fries. The food came out really well. The salmon was perfectly cooked.
We’ve been to the Green Pig several times and we’ll keep coming back. Certainly one of the most popular spots in downtown SLC. This time, we enjoyed the Avocado rolls, and drink specials. Parking is easiest in the ramp a block behind, street is limited, or Uber/Lyft. Sierra, our server was prompt, professional, and energetic. Great experience!
Fun atmosphere, our waiter was a gem! The food was great! Will definitely come again. I dont personally drink, but my friends do, and they had a great drink menu for them and also plenty of choices for me. Great place!
I tried their steak tacos and I was not very impressed. The steak was not tender and the tortillas were getting hard as I started to eat them. I had a green tea and i felt like it could’ve been better. They do have a great place to meet friends and also a roof top deck as well to hang out. There was a live band getting ready to perform I did not stay to watch.
The rooftop really sets the Green Pig apart from other bars downtown. We don’t have many of em!Luckily the views are great, they have misters for those hot months and they typically will have some kind of deal on drinks on a weekday!Menu is typical bar food but the food is actually good! My drinks weren’t that expensive.I ordered about 4 cocktails and a chicken tender basket and it was ~$45. Pretty good if you ask me.The space was also packed and service was pretty good! Given also the amount of people that were there.Overall worth a visit!
Loved this pub!! Outdoor patio on top of the roof. More than decent beer menu and amazing food. You get a beautiful view and atmosphere. I got the fries with Utah sauce and that sauce was to die for! My friend got some salsa verde nacho and it was more than enough for 4 of us!!! Thats right!! 4 of us. First round of beer was flat but the bartender was more than happy to replace it. Cant cant cant wait to come back
This was one of the first dog friendly places we found during our stay in Utah so we had to check it out!We came for the food but the views from the rooftop patio and the staff made it worth it!!! Extremely kind staff, LeAnn noticed ourtable was wobbly and immediately fixed it!They are dog friendly until 6 pm and they prefer seating you on the patio! They gave our puppy a water bowl and a dog bone treat, which he loved! The vegan tiger wings came with a side of ranch, my husband loved them. The wings tasted like real chicken!!!! They were dressed in a honey sriracha sauce and tasted sweet & spicy, if youre into that. The chicken tender basket was my basic girl meal. The tenders were hot & fried fresh served on top of a BASKET of fries. They had a couple different options on which sauces youd like, I picked thejalapeño ranch which was delicious. They added a side of chipotle ranch as well it kinda tasted like mayo & ketchup mixed up but my husband enjoyed it!10/10 will definitely come back when in town again!
You want to sing, do it outside the bar because they’ll pick anybody over a newcomer so don’t bother. The karaoke people “rule their fiefdom” by never allowing a new person to sing. Expect every off-key singer to go 5 times before you ever sing your first song. Don’t tip either, makes no difference, they totally don’t keep track so don’t think actually paying for their time helps. 2 hrs and $30 later just for one songstill doesn’t mean anything. I would give zero stars but the bartender actually did a good job, if they used the same pace as the karaoke people you would get one drink every three hours. Thankfully the bartenders actually care about their tips.
I ended up here via a recommendation from a local, and enjoyed my time with friends. We later find out that the server charged us individually and then charged my friend again for our food and drinks, leaving her with an almost 200$ bill. While I’m sure this is an honest mistake, I would make sure people going here and charged the right amounts.
Its a great place to eat delicious food and drinks, watch a good game, and cheer on your favorite team with a bunch of strangers! Both upstairs and downstairs is enjoyable.both upstairs and downstairs is enjoyable.
Good is somewhat above average, but nothing to write home aboutService is pretty good, but they dont come around very often. FriendlyWe went right as they opened, so this might have affected our experienceI ordered the Denver Burger. It has mixed reviews, so I wasnt sure... Its a decent burger, but the gimmick (jalapeño cream cheese) doesnt really add to the burger. It would be better if they just kept it simple with some pepper jack or fresh jalapeños.The bacon on the burger was cooked absolutely perfect. Fries were over done
Its a great bar in Central Salt Lake City. If youre around on a Wednesday evening, then make sure to make the weekly bar trivia (7pm start). The staff are good, and there is a good choice of beers, food and screens to watch sports.
Great food and atmosphere!! Fun mix of younger and older. They are the fries I miss from eat a burger. The 2 mule drinks are the only thing I might not get again. Very small cup, lots of ice. A couple of swallows of the yummy drink and its gone. At $8, I ordered a Green Pig Mia Tia for my 2nd drink for less. Yummy but still a lot of ice.
The Green Pig is the perfect place for Sunday football. The downstairs has each game in a couple of TVs with volume on. If you want a quieter viewing experience they do have one TV in the upstairs rooftop area as well. The service was great! They have a good beer selection and the food was fresh, better than your standard bar food. Definitely recommend coming here to watch the game!
Great food, I have food allergies, and they were very good about ensuring my food was prepared properly. I ordered the Bison Burger, it was flavorful and juicy! My hubby and friends ordered the tacos, and everyone was quite impressed and satisfied with their meal. Prices are good too! Get there early and enjoy the live music. Service was great, I highly recommend dining here!
This pub was part of the Cinco de Mayo pub crawl on Saturday. We got there at 350 and were told they werent going to honor the VIP Taco anymore, that I was told would be honored until five. They were not out of tacos they were just going to charge for them rather than giving them out like the event said they would. The drinks were great but service was slow and they didnt honor the contract that they had set with the event. Ill never go to this club again.
Dive bar feel for sure in my opinion. Grungy and dingy. Grimy in a good way. Come to this place if you like karaoke. The host on Thursday had a killer voice. There was a lot of young people Thursday. Lots of dudes hounding the girls. You can get most drinks as their bar is pretty extensive and pretty large. Not my go to spot but it’s a fairly popular bar in SLC.
Got the Cubano. It wasnt bad but I didnt think they were made without bacon, especially at a restaurant with pig in the name. Wish it had bacon. To be clear the menu description was probably fine, I just made a poor assumption. Waitress was fantastic.
Chill bar with a rooftop section and several vegan options that are delicious and come in great portion sizes. I got the vegan cheesesteak and cauliflower wings.
Decent pub in downtown Salt Lake with an Irish theme. Especially popular during St. Patrick’s day, and on weekends. Food is good, drinks are good, service can be lagging when it’s really busy.
Sometimes I want to unwind after work, and the bouncers wouldn’t let me in after leaving and trying to come back, claiming I was “too intoxicated” after 2 drinks? I didn’t fight it because I was sensible enough to find a better place to relax enjoy my time
I love this place. Door staff is always in a good mood vegan options like crazy. Good beer options and call drinks. Great place for karaoke or to watch sports or just kick it.
Everything about this pub was awesome! The food was great! The drinks were yummyyyyyy! The people there were awesome!! We had a great waiter! He was so nice and funny! I can not remember his name, but he was an older gentleman. He was very sweet as well. We loved the decor, and the over all atmosphere of the place! We will be returning!
The Green Pig Pub. Now I’ve never seen a green pig, but I’ve definitely seen a delicious burger and fries, right here at GPP. It’s Utah, so no, the drinks aren’t going to knock your socks off or get you tipsy, but think positively and they are helping you get into heaven. Come for the food and have a drink... it’s much easier to repent from 1.5 oz than a free pour. Just saying you’ll thank me in the celestial after life.
I overall had a great experience here, there was just a little thing I would have changed with the burgers my server was Kristi and she was super cool. I had the denver burger and it was really dry, and the fries were basically like chips towards the end of the fries. Maybe I will try it again in the future.
Nice place. Fair vibes, cool drinks but moderately weak. One of the servers is a sarcastic old bat who is quite rude and doesn’t like being called out for it. Now she keeps eyeballing me as I think I made a mortal enemy out of her because my elbow was on the bar top 2 inches into her space she wasn’t in. Very territorial!Music resembles that of a lame Florida adult entertainment facility, such as one in Pasco county
Yall, they got VERY delicious fries, and the beer I had was super tasty too. Even my friend who hates beer enjoyed it. Also the staff was super friendly too. Defs recommend
Came here on a Saturday night for a beer and some food and it was PACKED. We decided to risk it and were so glad we did - we were checked on within a minute of sitting in a booth and taken care of consistently throughout the night. On top the amazing service the food was fantastic - can’t wait to order the avocado rolls and Buffalo wings again. Thank you again ChiChi for a wonderful night!!!
So not the best experience at this place . I feel stupid because I’m the one who suggested coming here, which I will not make this mistake again!!!. They either need to train their staff on how to use the payment system or find one that’s more user friendly.
Kat is literally the best. We came here on karaoke night which has potential for bad service cause it’s so busy. And she was ON TOP OF IT. She slayed so hard. Even at the busiest times she was taking care of us. I know it’s an impossible ask but I want her as our server everytime.
Amazing place! Bree is a great server. We had a big group and she was helpful, efficient, and friendly!
I’m from Boston and my wife and I were in Salt Lake City. We asked if there were any bars that were around, and someone mentioned Green Pig was close by. So we went, and instantly knew this was not the place. The vibe is strange, it’s overpacked (no idea why), and the staff is atrocious and incredibly rude. The food is decent though but sorely overpriced. We went to another bar called Lake Effect and that was an incredible experience. Don’t recommend going to Green Pig.
Everything was wonderful except for those fries. You taste the grease and it seems like the fries were out for a while. I would go back
Food was good but realistically just pub food, nothing particularly stood out as being exceptional but it was solid and fair priced. The atmosphere was fun eclectic mix of new, retro, and Old West bar theme, played great and diverse music selection, really solid beer selection even though I stopped drinking earlier this year I thought it was well thought out with something for most everyone with one exception, no seasonal brews, I was surprised no Christmas ales offered. Even though I wasnt drinking the rest of my party was and the waitress made sure my drink was never empty regardless where my companions were with their beverages.
They had a fun bartender that made great drinks. Didnt have any food so cant comment on that but had a blast dancing with my girl
What an experience! Beautiful location, loved being next to the rock and mineral exchange building and watching the trains go by. Definitely a pub, and what I mean by that is that is LOUD. Good beer selection, and top tier bar food. If you’re into bar food, you’ll be pleased. If you’re into vegan bar food, then you’ll be most pleased! Definitely impressed with the vegan bar food selection. Would come back for that. We sat inside with a group of 7 and had a really good time. The staff were very friendly and helpful. But it was too loud for my taste. If/when I go again I’ll want to be on their neat roof patio.
Good vegan bar food. Great beer. Even better staff!Had just gotten in from the airport around 9PM and they were still open. Me and a friend had 4 checked bags visiting SLC and they were able to hold our bags while we took some time eating and drinking. All employees asked us if we needed anything else and were the friendliest employees at any bar I’ve ever been to!!! Will come back when visiting SLC.
21+ ONLY. This is a bar that serves high-calorie heavy fried and grilled meats and potatoes. Popular with delivery apps, like GrubHub and DoorDash.
I love Green Pig! The food is amazing. They cater to meat eaters and vegans alike. There is always a $10 special, which is a steal in todays economy! The staff is amazing. Always extremely friendly. Definitely an awesome place to hang out!
One of the best bars in salt lake in my opinion with great food and a fun atmosphere. Cocktails are decently cheap and delicious! Foods a little more pricy but worth it. One thing to complain about is how slow the service is. My boyfriend and I went in when it wasn’t busy at all and it took almost 15 minutes for a waiter to even greet us and take our order.
The first time I went to the green pig the bouncer checking ID’s started interrogating me heavily for no reason (probably because I appear younger than 21 when In fact I am legally over 21 years old). Which can be understandable. When I went tonight the bouncer checked my ID and “scanned it” then told me it wouldn’t scan. I was watching him scan it and it looked like he didn’t even go over the barcode. He asked to see my boyfriends ID and he scanned his properly. He then accused me of it being fake and how he’s “been around the east side” or something so he “knows” his way around. Told us it wasn’t acceptable and to have a good night. I have gone into over 20 different bars and many liquor stores, clubs, and bars with my current government issued Utah state identification card. I’m sure the man was discriminatory and had a strange power complex. The first time I was able to go in it was overcrowded. Everyone was mean, the staff didn’t care to attend to you. The vibe is off. Don’t recommend going to this place because you will likely get harassed if you’re not a middle aged straight man who loves to watch sports.
This place offers great classic bar food. They also have a fantastic junk food style vegan menu that I highly recommend.I wouldnt recommend getting a cocktail since this bar serves dive bar drinks at city bar prices. I would recommend pregaming unless you like beer.Dont expect good service. Prepare for long waits and rude staff. This almost feels like a training bar for servers who are not experienced with alcohol, so I wouldnt ask questions about the cocktails or beer menu (just google it). With that said, the door guys have always been really nice. The food is worth stopping by if you arent in a hurry and if you are craving some good ol greasy bar food. Also, this is a great bar if you like watching sports (Ive never asked, but dont be surprised if you get a side eye for asking to change the channel). The rooftop is also really cool and cozy.
Love the food, Guinness on tap, fun atmosphere. Awesome service every time Ive been
Приятное место, живая музыка, очень дружественная атмосфера. Вход только с 21, просят ID, права также подойдут. Кухня - средне. Большой выбор пива и алкоголя. В любом случае, весьма достойное место в Солт Лейк Сити.(Translated by Google)Nice place, live music, very friendly atmosphere. Entrance is only from 21, they ask for an ID, your license will also work. Kitchen - average. Large selection of beer and alcohol. In any case, a very worthy place in Salt Lake City.
Our server Keaira is the best server we have ever had! She is absolutely amazing!
Cool little sports bar. Our waiter was very friendly and quick with the service. Just got a couple drinks and nachos. Nachos were very fulfilling. A group of other diners came in and sat directly behind us. Immediately a punk of the group tried to stir up some ish soon as they sat down chanting Lets go Brandon!I have no idea what spurred that out of him but I began to chant lets go Ravens since Im a Baltimore Ravens fan and I dont give a F about politics.Another guy of the group who was a Packers fan joint or table and we all just start talking about football for a while until his girl started whining about how we stole her man away from their table. All in all, it was good fun.
Very good service and the food is pretty good and the beer is very reasonably priced for downtown.
Have been an avid customer here for years but today the bartender said didn’t have military discount for food ( not drinks). Every time we’ve gone there, they say they can’t discount drinks but can on food. Not consistent with policy or respectful to our military population. I wouldn’t chance it if you are a vet or active duty.I used to hold this place in high esteem but a bartender who won’t follow policy for military is ridiculous and I have an extremely sour taste that “there’s nothing they can do”.
The 3 ☆☆☆s can go to the staff and the fact that its dog friendly. Everything else was a fail for me. We have been dying to try this place for years and we were very disappointed. First off I ordered a Paloma it had no lime no soda just grapefruit and tequila (it was gross) the avocado egg rolls pictured were probably the best thing they had some kick the sauce was good but they werent anything to rant and rave about. But my main course was awful. I ordered the Cesar salad with steak, the steak came out it was like rubber. The flavor of the dressing was bland and little to no crunch in the salad.I was really excited to have my bday meal hear and it was a huge disappointment. The staff tool care of our disappointments but the damage was done. I wont go back.
My favorite place to go out by far. Can get a little packed but all the servers are SO KIND and friendly. The bartenders and bouncers are also great. We had a waiter on the rooftop last night that always checked on us & even watched our drinks for us while we went to the restroom. Obviously love the vegan options but all their food is pretty good too! Grape Tart drink is the best one on the menu. Drinks aren’t too expensive either
Update 2023: Ive been several times since the review below and felt it needed to be updated. The staff has been much better and the food the last couple of tries has been excellent. Not sure what changed but theyve deserved my business again with the pleasant experience lately!Been here a few times and most experiences have been mixed. Their food is awesome. The service is not good, everyone acts like youre bothering them. This has been the last 2 times that weve gone. Definitely a popular spot.
Unfortunately, the cocktails were weak, but being new to yeah, that seems to be a thing at a lot of bars. But they were cheap. The beer selection was actually pretty good.Food was generally just good bar food. One of my buddies ordered a second Philly sandwich because it was so good.Service was pretty good too. Friendly and generally prompt. The DJ was great, making me and my wife pretty reluctant to leave. It was also cool that there was a mix of people from their 20s to folks I assume were in their 50s. Overall it was a solid 4 out of 5.
Such an awesome, chill, welcoming space! Punk rock vibes, great food, and excellent service.
Went here for a dinner after a long day of meetings. We had a large group, 25 people, and our server did a great job of keeping up with our food and drink orders, I think she went by Coco. We were seated on the rooftop patio and it was very open and had some great views of downtown Salt Lake. The food is great and drinks were good as well.
Fun bar with a nice rooftop deck. Good food and drinks and great service.
Live music, friendly staff and a late night menu. A life saver if you need a quick bite to eat in a sleepy town. The staff were wonderful, their beer selection were generous and the food is fitting for the wind down after whatever shift you pulled. I got lucky when I came in for Jazz night as they have trivia nights hosted along with other themed nights.
I had such a great experience here. I had a big group of twenty or so for my birthday and got a reservation a week prior. They kept in touch to confirm everything when it got closer. Our server Kirsten was AMAZING. Attentive, quick, accurate and so incredibly friendly. Our food and drinks were delicious. The green pig will definitely be a new staple in my going out plans.
Update 11-01-23: The fries are good again! During the past few months, the fries have been getting better each time we visit. Ignore previous comment about microwave.Orig: Short walk from the office so before the pandemic we used to eat lunch here every Monday. Still visit every week or two. The fries almost never fail to disappoint, they are soggy 95% of the time (Im pretty sure they microwave them). However, the entrees are always pretty good. Nice selection of drinks and the space itself is cool. Servers are always helpful and friendly. Really enjoy the upstairs patio when the weather is nice!
Great atmosphere, but the food is awful. I havent been back in a while, so maybe its gone downhill or perhaps today was a one-off. Either way, the Denver burger was WAY overcooked and the bun was old and dry. A small sneeze-worth of fries comes with it. Awful and dry.
Cobb salad and chicken was large enough for two and the sweet mustard dipping sauce served with soft pretzel was delightful. We sat up on the deck and the server was attentive in ensuring we were kept cool but not bothered by the fans. Will absolutely be back.
Like 2 bars in 1, with classic feel with long bar and tables and then a rooftop party bar. Fantastic and friendly service. Decent menu with a few surprises. The rooftop is open air but theres a roof structure, so doesnt feel as open to the outdoors as I would have preferred but does provide shelter from rain and sun. Definitely come back again.
Good food and great daily drink specials! Its your classic sports/college kind of bar but if its not a game night or some kind of event, its filled with totally normal people. Trivia is fun too but can be tough to get a table if youre not there early or reserve.
Fantastic place! All servers were smiling and enjoyable atmosphere. The music was fine and the food was filling and delicious. The patio was well designed and the second bar up top was a nice touch. The only complaint I can think of was the patio was a bit chilly, despite the added heaters.
My first and last time dining at this institution. The beer from the draft up in the patio was warm & watered down. I ordered “the Denver burger” & was disappointed to say the least. They threw an undercooked patty on some buns with a terrible sour cream spread. The meat was undercooked & caused me food poisoning. I was fighting for my life on the toilet for about 4 hours. If you love getting food poisoning I would definitely recommend this place !
I dont see myself going there anymore. Food is nasty. Ive tried it a couple times. Before leaving I was asked to leave a tip which I had a hr before leaving.
Great food for an amazing price. Will definitely be coming back!
Would not recommend this place to anyone. The service was horrible. When we initially sat down all seemed pleasant, it wasn’t until we had to beg our waitress ‘Luna’ to take our order that things went downhill. She was very aggressive and took our order as if it was an inconvenience to her. After giving our order she came back a total of 4 times to ask us to remind her what we asked for. Then it got worse when ‘Zach’ came to deliver our food and was yelling the names of the orders. Then when my obviously pregnant sister asked him if the plate he set down was vegan or not (because we had also ordered the same dish not vegan) he said “i don’t know does it look vegan to you?” After that we decided to complain to the manager & only then did Luna change her attitude. Zach decided he would continue to be verbally aggressive to our entire table. While we sat and ate our food Zach and Luna sat at the bar staring at us and obviously talking about our table. Will never step foot in that place as long as they are there. The rest of the staff was fantastic. Can’t teach someone how to like their job i guess.
Walked my 2 black labs around downtown for an hour in 35 degrees on a Thursday evening around 8, trying to find a place to grab a beer. I tied them inside the patio fence and walked in to buy a beer. The bouncer yelled at me as soon as I opened the door. I told him Im going to buy a beer and hang out with my dogs on the patio, there is no one else out there. He said, not tonight dog, come back in the day!I cant even sit on the patio with my 2 dogs when no one else is outside & you yell at me? I wont be back ever, this place couldnt be less dog friendly!
We had Zach J as a waiter. He was very attentive and was able to get us what we needed. He was extremely personable as well. We spent a few hours here watching a football game and he took the perfect care of us. Zach J was perfect!!!!!
The Green Pig serves cold draft beers (and Bottles) and good pub food. They have daily food specials which are reasonable, usually a 5-6 dollar and 8.5 dollar sandwich or enchilada etc. I used to eat at the Pig at least once a week for lunch b4 the Covid. It has changed a bit since then. It does have a rooftop patio which is good in summertime.
One of my favorite downtown bars. Love the upstairs patio, and the prices are reasonable for what you get, both food and drinks. The servers are great, just sometimes a little understaffed but that seems to be the case with a lot of places and you can tell they really are trying to provide great service.
Kinnison took amazing care of me all while taking care of all the bar staff, food was amazing as always!
Great experience! Husband and I are on a roadtrip to GA and staying in SLC overnight. Stopped in for a couple of rounds and had a fantastic time chatting with Coleen. Thank you for the Pie Hole recommendation!
It was fun, but every drink I ordered was super watered down. Other people were also having the same issue.Paying $9 for a watered-down drink, Id rather stay home. Also, Im pretty sure the waitress was double charging all of us, and we also had cash come up missing that never got resolved.Ended up with $160 bill by the time we left. Not what I call a good time. Lol
I love this place. Theirs always a vibe. Cool people and great food. I dont drink, but this is a place where I take friends who drink. When the weather permits, I like being upstairs. You get a great view and cool ambiance
Courteous staff. Enjoyed the soup and loaded grill cheese. Bartender was very prompt and Courteous even though she was serving tables and working the bar. Would definitely go back on my next visit.
Great local bar with friendly staff and cheap drinks
Very cool pub!! Sat on the rooftop and watched the Stanley cup!
The food is great and I love that they have vegan options, but Im giving 3 stars because they are still using styrofoam for all of their takeout containers. Makes me not want to go there or order takeout from them. Please switch to biodegradable packaging!
Awesome gluten free options. I got the Cobb salad with salmon added and didn’t get hungry again all day. Fresh and delicious. Our server was rad, friendly and very attentive. We enjoyed the view on the rooftop for lunch and kept cool in the shade and the misters. Will return for sure
Cool place in Salt Lake. Went on a Sunday when mostly everything else is closed in the area. Dog friendly was a plus. We sat on the top deck, had a great view, but service couldve been a little better. Waited 5 minutes (maybe more) before anyone even asked what we wanted to drink, no menus, looked it up on our phone so we wouldnt have to wait long to order. Food was great and drinks were really good too. Will definitely give it another try next time Im in the area.
Green pig is my go to!! IF IT WERENT FOR “ALICE”THIS EXPERIENCE WOULDNT HAVE BEEN AWESOME. She did an awesome job in attending us when no else would pay attention to us thank you ALICE WE APPRECIATE YOUR HARD WORK 😎💯
Good drinks, neat atmosphere, and some of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had anywhere.
Had a veggie burger the last time I was there and the meals (non vegetarian) prior were great! The staff is cool, drinks are priced well, I personally love either sitting on the roof and looking at the city or in the front and just watch people.
First time here. The place was fantastic. Good beer selection. The french dip was great. The bar staff was friendly and responsive. Top notch all around. Will return.
Love the Green Pig. Ive been coming here for years on a random at night for a night out dancing with drinks & friends. Drinks are cheaper here than most bars in downtown Salt Lake. Bartenders & staff are friendly. Food is good too if youre grabbing a bite. Love the rooftop area and outdoor areas. Good place to mingle and have a good night out on the town. If youre visiting Salt Lake be sure to visit the Green Pig! 5* ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Decent Pub food. Lots of vegie options outdoor deck is aaesome
We had a great time until closure; everything was so cool the vibe , the music from the jukebox, the drinks everything and the service . Cali was an awesome server she took care of us at all times and was super patient taking our pictures and all. We liked the closing time for a Sunday in Salt Lake and everybody was welcoming from the patrons to the bartenders and the servers . I highly recommend this place to anyone visiting downtown Salt Lake City and wants good drinks after normal hours.
The bad first. Only 1 pickle piece on the Cuban and a huge chunk of lettuce heart in the Caesar salad. The good. The Cuban was amazing! Perfect blend of flavors even though only half had pickles it was still amazing. The Caesar salad was fantastic. Great flavor and the marble rye croutons were a great touch! Will be eating here again!
Love this place! The food is amazing, there is so much to choose from, the staff is very friendly and helpful. The rooftop patio is great. They have bingo nights, make sure to get a reservation if you want to participate, they book up every week! You wont be disappointed with this place?
Monday night 9pm blues night is the best day of the week.
We were with a party of 12 and our waitress did an outstanding job keeping the orders and separate checks straight. She was very pleasant, which is a rarity these days. I ordered steak tacos which were very good, and the chips were excellent and seemed homemade. All of the plates looked good!
Service is terrible. Sitting on the patio now and the guy server has hardly paid any attention to us. A table full of girls came in after us, got their drinks before us and food. The server has looked at us multiple times and I have looked at him and waved and he just turns around and stands at the bar. I had to go up to him to get a new drink. He also got our food order wrong. Just terrible service.
My group and I had Sarah Rose as our waitress, and could not have been happier. She was such a delight, and so hospitable. The bar was out of a liquor for a drink I ordered, and she made an incredible substitution drink. Her customer service skills were amazing, and she was such an absolute babe inside and out. Cant recommend her enough, she really made my experience stand out. Ive been here before and didnt think much of it, but thoroughly enjoyed myself this time round. Thank you Sarah!!!!
The overall experience was great. Our burgers took a little longer than expected but when they arrived everything was hot, fresh and full of flavor. My friend was delivered the incorrect burger. However; the staff quickly owned the mistake and made it 120% better. Their desire to fix the issue and ensure we had an excellent experience really shined through. This is a wonderful place to stop in for a lunch or business meeting during the workday. We will definitely be back.
If youre here to review an altercation that took place over someone speaking Spanish, that did NOT happen at the Green Pig. One of the women in the video was wearing a Green Pig shirt, but the establishment at which the incident occurred is a different business altogether. Ive been coming to this bar for 8 years and never once witnessed the staff behaving as alleged by some of these hastier reviews. The Green Pig is not affiliated with the business or individuals currently under fire for that altercation.
The vegan menu options were great. They offer a delicious vegan ranch!I’d recommend Green Pig if you’re not sure where to go. We went there around 4pm on a Wednesday. The hostess bartender was attentive and polite about recommending drinks and discussing the menu.Note: The seating upstairs looking over the street is a great think spot or casual first date seating.
My husband and I came here on Halloween. We ordered their Halloween drink specials, that were very good. It was kind of busy, I think the staff did a great job moving fast and were friendly. The atmosphere was fun and they have a upstairs balcony with a bar and good view. And the most important was they are dog friendly 😉
It was pretty busy when we went, but they said they would get us a table when one opened up and it wouldnt be long. They took a drink order while we were waiting. After 30 minutes they had not gotten us a table or the drinks we ordered so we left.
Green Pig is a great bar if you like kicking back and letting the drinks come to you! Walk in, grab a table, and enjoy good food and great prices. Bored on a Wednesday? Come on down to GP for trivia night. Feel like singing songs you have no business singing? Come on down on a Thursday! If its a nice sunny morning in the summer, enjoy the upstairs patio for brunch!
Their pride whatever thingy they have is trash, $20 dollar cover for wacky vibe. The guy at the entrance told me it was going to be over at 1:40am, when I asked at 8pm. I went out at 9:15 to smoke, same guy that told me if was going to ve over at 1:40am didn’t let me back in, said his boss said not to let anyone in again. He did me a favor cause it was dead inside and at the block party the whole time, I was just trying to make my money worth it by going back in. Horrible experience, not worth the money. Go somewhere else to enjoy your pride activities. Don’t throw $20 down the drain.
The French Dip is by far the best French dip i have ever had. If you havent had it you have to try it..🤤🤤🤤
Decent Enough Place but they overcharged my card causing an issue. I have to fix
I first called the restaurant with a couple questions I had, before placing an order for delivery through Grubhub and the woman who answered the phone was very kind and friendly and had the answers I needed. When my food arrived, I first noticed how delicious it all looked, how well-packaged it was, and how my special requests had been met perfectly. I ordered wings and asked for all flats and got just that. Very meaty and tasty. Well-sauced too, which can be rare when ordering wings to-go from other places. The French dip is fantastic and I was given the extra au jus I requested. Just a great job all-around! My only regret is not being able to tip the people at the restaurant who put all these to-go orders together for us.
Loved this spot! Laid back atmosphere and very friendly service. Cocktails were spot on! And a tasty and reasonably-priced vegan menu for those who prefer plant-based. Wonderful that this location is super dog-friendly. If I ever find myself back in SLC, I will certainly visit Green Pig again!
What an awesome place with great view of the city and the mountains, low priced drinks, yummy food and a great mist to refresh you in hot days! I was visiting Salt Lake City with my friends, and we only stayed in the city two days, and in those two days we went to the Green Pig Pub and we had a great time there. The staff was awesome and sweet and we have no complains at all. Thank you guys for everything and please continue to prospere. I hope to come back one day to this lovely city, and I’ll for sure again visit the Green Pig Pub.
Food was bland, Zach gave us the worst service we’ve experienced in a minute. Wouldn’t recommend to anyone, try one of the many other bars in the city. If the manager reads this please re-train Zach. He is awful at his job.
The small upstairs deck area was almost completely full, but had two wait staff serving the area (which should have been plenty), but it still took forever to get served. The food was only so so at best.
Fantastic food, good beers, and great atmosphere.
Tanager is awesome. So fun to talk to and to look at too! Always running around with a big smile on his face! Check it out on game nights!
I came here for the first time after a hard day just trying to get some comfort food and left with much more than that. Allyssa greeted me at my table and was the most kind server I’ve ever had. She made sure I was doing well the entire time and made small talk throughout the night. I could tell she genuinely cared about me and all her other tables and truly wanted everyone to have a good time. She paid attention to every detail and I left feeling better than when I arrived. It was nice after a hard day to have someone be so kind and sincere, especially to someone she didn’t even know. The food was delicious and I definitely would come again just because of allyssa. She truly made the experience that much better.
Overview: great porch and upstairs rooftop bar. Gets crowded during games so plan ahead!Vibe-such a cool vibe. I really like coming here to watch and sit. The staff is very friendly and attentive as well.Drink selection-decent drink selection, but the basic cider selection and only white claw if you are looking for that. Massive beer selection and the cocktails are pretty good too.Food-food is pretty good. The fry sauce taste about the same, but it’s good! Fries are a mix between the thick and the thin fries. I also had the pretzels which were 2 and came with a beer sauce (ok) and mustard. Lots of selection though so a variety of tastes could enjoy it.
I would have given it more stars because the nachos were bomb but I kid you not this was the worst experience at a restaurant/bar I have probably ever had. The waiter messed up and forgot our drink order 3 times and our food. Between every mistake was a 15 minute wait. Felt like I was in a simulation to test my patience. I’m actually still waiting over 10 minutes after I asked for the check. Pretty gnarly experience. Sad really
We got into town a little late in the Green Pig was one of the only places still open that served dinner. I hadnt been to this bar in over a decade so I didnt know what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they had a pretty Good menu for a bar.The waitress was helpful and knowledgeable about the beers they had available. She made some recommendations on the food that turned out to be great. They even offer some vegan food options which is very rare for a bar.The Green Pig exceeded our expectations and really was a great place to get an amazing hamburger and some local beer.
We came here on a Friday. First time coming here. The food was terrible and there was no alcohol in the cocktails. The lemon drop martini tasted like sugar water with a twist of lemon. Do not recommend.
Great pub and people, TVs and all sorts of activities going on nightly.
There is surprisingly a lot of vegan options here. All that I have tried so far have been good. Today I had the vegan street tacos, and a Stella Artois. The tacos were insanely delicious, I could have eaten a whole other plate.
Atmosphere seemed ok. Gave me the incorrect food order 3 times in a row (at which point I stopped sending it back and just ate what the brought) which seemed odd because the menu is fairly small. Food was ok at best, soup was served cold.
The Green Pig is one of my favorite places to eat in Salt Lake. Their clam chowder is so good, as are all their soups. They have one of the best burgers in the city and very unique fish tacos. Yum!
The food was great, Zach was amazing! & Something I dont think that is mentioned enough but is important, they had clean restrooms.
I have definitely had my opinions about this place... But all in all, what a good pub to be at. They LOVE dogs and will fawn over your pup no matter what. Sincere people work here!!! I LOVE their vegan options! So many good interactive nights with quizzes and entertainment! Go here for a good night 👍
Enjoyed our first visit, the place was buzzing on a Thursday, service was great and the food was pretty good as well. The tacos were really nice, so you have to try them out.
