Over all the club is actually pretty sweet. Definitely loud enough. I will say that being a local San Diego resident, I was pretty put off by the bouncer taking my pen in lieu of some of the other substances that were floating around. Seemed pretty petty to start off, but to do that to a local? You don’t treat the locals with kind of disrespect, my man. But it’s all good and I’m not mad. I will definitely go again.
This place is insanely nice. Super clean, security everywhere, dude who could be a model in bathroom handing you paper towels, beautiful women behind the bar. Ive never been anywhere like this before. Very upscale. The sound system is impeccable. Cold air blowing on crowd with fog machines and confetti drops. I had an incredible time.
Disclaimer: this review is for the venue, not the performance.Terrible experience at Nova! I came to Nova for the Said the Sky by Lost in Dreams event. As I was going through the security check to enter the club, they confiscated my travel-size hand sanitizer and pür chewing gum. I have gone to countless clubs and festivals across the United States and internationally and NEVER had hand sanitizer or gum confiscated. I asked security why these items weren’t allowed inside the club and they cited safety purposes. They said I either had to take them back to the car or relinquish them, but they would not allow me to pick them up later. I checked the FAQ section of Nova’s website, and nowhere is it stated that these items aren’t permitted. In fact, there are no entry requirements specified other than dress code and Covid safety. I’m disappointed in Nova’s oversight to properly communicate what security measures they enforce and which items they permit/restrict in the club. I would understand if I had accidentally brought anything that’s actually dangerous or hazardous, but my items were purely for maintaining good hygiene. Do better Nova SD.
This is a skewed review. We booked vip bottle service around $1718.19 total.Upstairs table, 206? Dejay helped us with our bookings! Quick responses! It was a $250 deposit. Bucket of water was $150, 18 bottles, Belvedere bottle $500, clicquot rose $600, $75 entertainment fee (bachelorette night). Service charge was $275 for 9 people. Tax was $118.19. Didn’t get food.Menu can be found online. My first VIP experience and it was HEAVEN. They check in on us every 15-20mins. They come and made cocktails for us.If going with larger group to share cost, this is TOTALLY worth it.We were there in June 2023 for Valentino khan!!!Women restroom line was ONLY short during opening act of main artist. There’s service in the restroom and you can venmo to tip or tip by cash :) mouthwash, hairspray was provided 🤣🤣🤣
Politely, Made me go back to my car for item in my purse. So many men are in there with the same item!! Should have been a man. Music is good. Drinks are good.
Im pretty sure other events are okay here but for the Bassrush event that happened this weekend was a horrible experience for our first time. Starting with the security outside before you enter. We were told to go to a specific line (girls) and the security kept trying to tell my wife to go to the mens side for a pat down even if we kept telling her shes a girl. She kept yelling at us for no reason. The event started at 10pm and we got there at 10:45 and there werent many people but as soon as it creeped around 11:30pm, it got super packed!!!it felt like it was more than at max capacity. It was ridiculous. It was hard to be on the dancefloor. People kept pushing others and getting into other peoples personal space. Security wasnt around to delegate. They pretty much let everyone do whatever they want. Definitely not coming back to this venue. We left the event early so we could avoid the stampede at the end. Not worth your money unless you do VIP.
0/10 stars. If you’re queer, just know that this isn’t it.My group went to Nova for a techno event. However, because our group was made up of LGBT individuals and some of the members weren’t dressed traditionally (but not particularly revealing and very appropriate for the event) we were turned away. The manager was kind and caring with his explanation, but ultimately Insomniac’s (the organizer) rules meant that anyone who doesn’t stick to traditional masculine and feminine dress wasn’t welcome. It’s really disappointing for the club to have a stance that is so backwards. Crazy that in 2024 a club would essentially ban anyone trans, queer, or non-gender conforming.
The soap in the bathroom said lavender chamomile but when I tried some id did not taste like lavender nor chamomile. The little jello cakes in the urinal were far better. Overall 11/10 experience
Went to this club to see riot 10 last week and got turned around for having a tank top on when the event did not have any dress code listed anywhere! They let in plenty of lgbtq people with shorts but made me go all the way back to my house. The obese white guy at the door was rude and unwelcoming. The drinks were overpriced with little selection. The dance floor was very small with no room to dance at all. Will not be going back. What kind of edm club has a dress code for straight people but not for lgbtq? Good riddance 👍
Came here for for Noizu on my friends birthday. I go to EDM clubs pretty often in LA and Nova had the most rude bouncers i’ve ever encountered. Not even Knock2 had this rude and physical security. I got searched three times separate times, they took away my girlfriend’s tampons and I had to dig them out of the trash after having a hard time telling the bouncer why she needed them. My travel bottle of contact solution also was confiscated. Overall the experience was way too aggressive and honestly felt like i was getting profiled because of how I looked. None of my lighter skinned friends got the same treatment as I did.If this is what SD EDM clubs are like then I’d rather just stay in LA for nightlife.
Overall a fun experience, but for insomniac owning this night club it didnt really have all the bells and whistles that come with the name. Just seems like another night club to be honest.Drinks were average price, sound is good (bass could be better), Im sure it better then the old omnia and time could tell its possibility for the future.Things that could be improved:* better themed edm venue (to separate it from other night clubs)* Better screens for visuals.* less in your face security (other night clubs arent as in your face as this one)
Awesome venue and awesome performance! Cant wait to go back. Sidepiece was on point 🔥. I loved their new 2024 set, but missed a few of the classics. I hope they come back soon ❤️🔥
If I could give this place 0 stars I would. The bouncer with the interesting man bun piggy tail whatever you want to call it (get a new haircut bum) needs a reality check. All of the bouncers are on a power trip, you must be fun people to hangout with! Seriously grow up. Was picked out in line for “being too drunk” funny thing is id had one drink the whole night, do your job better Nova sd. Was harassed as well and brought out to the back alley where I was told i couldn’t leave. I can’t leave? Ight man. So I can’t get in and then I can’t leave? Pick a side bozos and face a reality check, bunch of fake tough guys working the doors, figure it out
Had a great time here celebrating a friend’s bachelor party. Tyler was the manager on site, he helped us book a table and provided a complimentary upgrade to a better location. The waitress was constantly pouring up shots, we never had to go looking for our next drink which allowed us to let loose on the dance floor.
Had a great time in the Alan Walker show, but the alcohol was watered down and overpriced. Suggest pre drink before going.
My third time at Nova and third time was the charm, staff was on point, drinks well drinks are in the normal drink range for clubs. The bartender made fire drinks, the lines were managed well to get them. Joyryde was a sold out event so it did get excessively packed prior to the headliner, the people need to be more “nice” (it’s ok to use your words and say excuse me) cutting in front of you. Why you would wanna get nut to butt when we’re all trying dance is not the move. All in all great venue in the heart of SD.
Booked a table through Leila for a bachelor party. Area that we got was right on the main floor close to the DJ. Prices for the bottles are what you expect so those who know wouldnt be shocked. What stood out the most were our hosts. We had Kellen, Christian, and Carolyn serving us and they all were TOP NOTCH! Super friendly, making sure we were ok, and pouring shots / drinks for us. I offered for them to take shots with us but being good employees, they were obliged to decline (but appreciated the offer).Lastly, I left my wallet there that evening. I got notified early the next morning that they found my wallet. Picked it up Monday morning with everything in there...including all my cash.Super dope place to party. Will definitely go there again next time im in town.
Edit: I had to go back to change my 2 star to a 4 star because of the security at the place. They are awesome. Helped out my friend in need. Venue may be a bit crowded at times but the crowd control and venue staff are always on it.old review: Its an okay club, but they didnt tell me my margaritas were $35 each until after they scanned my card and handed me a receipt 😑 Dont buy any drinks without lubing up first. You have been warned.
Absolutely a trashy place. Their security took my vape and when I came out and ask for it back, they said we don’t give them back. But a lot of other dudes vaping there. When we get out and ask for it back, then another guy came and said oh we allow vape here??????
I’ve been to NOVA 10+ times because I live in SD and enjoy the music, but Im tired of the dance floor consistently being way, way too overcrowded. Even for smaller shows with less popular acts, you’re being bumped into from all directions every five seconds, and theres basically no room to dance. And because everyone’s frustrated and fighting for space, the crowds vibes tend to be pretty bad.Management is aware of the problem, and if you read their replies to other reviews, they make a lot of statements that are technically true, but which dont solve the problem. They expanded the floor when they purchased the property, but its still not enough, and because they cant grow the size of the building, its not getting any bigger. The venue isnt technically oversold or a safety concern because theres a ton of non-dancefloor space upstairs and on the roof, and they do have emergency exits, but that doesnt stop the floor from ending up overcrowded and being a terrible experience. For the amount of tickets they sell, the floor will always be too small and extremely overcrowded, and the venue will always suck. That said, if you want to do the VIP experience or hang out at the bar/upstairs and vibe, sure, you’ll probably have an alright time because you’ll have some space.
Definitely best club in San Diego at the moment.Big space, three floors, outside patio, good service.Great music, best DJs. Last one was KSHMR and it was incredible!
Celebrated my 30th birthday here for Whipped Cream’s show on Oct 6!! I reserved a table way back in May LOL I wanted to be prepared! Mark was my VIP host the whole time and he and his team truly made it a night to remember. We even had a situation where I thought I won tickets, but they turned out to be FAKE. Despite this, Mark still honored the tickets so a couple more of my friends could join. It was the BEST night with the best people. I think he may have even upgraded our table from the balcony to the floor which made partying with my friends who didn’t have VIP sooo much more convenient and fun. Would recommend Mark to anyone wanting to invest in a special night at Nova.
As an avid convert raver, I highly recommend not going to Nova: it’s a very small venue and they will kick you out for any reason. I’ve been here purely for the artists. The quality in the service and performances has gone gone down in my opinion. I would say sticking to LA venues if possible, in the California area
My party and I reserved Novas largest table which included 12 guests but it only sat 8 I guess its because they assumed people would be in and out on the dance floor. I think all of the tables are the same size regardless of if you booked for 8, 10, or 12 but didnt get the chance to see the tables on the 2nd floor. Other than that good service, nice club, and good vibes.
If you like EDM and/or Vegas, this place is for you. Paz is awesome, he hooked it up and was super nice to me and my girls. We saw Steve Aoki and it was insane, the sound system was perfect, the up and downstairs were super cool, the staff was super nice and attentive and I haven’t had this much fun in Downtown San Diego in a LONG time. Highly recommend and thank you Paz!
It’s a nice venue, I like it. What takes away from it is that you’re in San Diego at a DJ event and the dress code is too strict. They’re asking only pants, no shorts. No tanks: no tanks ok fine. But if you’re on their giant dance floor at a DJ event in 85 degree weather who wants to wear pants? Was this well thought out? I’m just curious why this would be an obstacle to admission. So I wore the pants and I got in but yes it’s too hot for the dress code they want. The service was good the crowd was good as well, I didn’t try the food but the drinks were decent pours for the price (pricy but thank you for not using the shot measure). I’d go back only if they relax a bit on the dress code- not worth visiting otherwise and I wouldn’t expect them to survive long term if they keep trying that.
Me and a group of friends came to this venue to have a good time. The dance floor was super packed with people just standing around, a bunch of weirdos and creeps were in the crowd , vomit was every where in the bathrooms , the price of drinks was outrageous, and the laser set up was a joke. The staff was very rude , and the owner of the venue or who ever was in charge, was the most unprofessional and rudest person working there. If I could give this place 0 stars I would, i spent 255$ of four tickets and the place was so bad that we stayed for twenty minutes and just ended up leaving.
Im genuinely saddened by the discrimination my husband and I experienced last Friday, November 3rd. We were treated poorly simply for looking into my purse for what felt like too long. Perhaps it was because we were a larger group or appeared younger, but who knows the exact reason. The manager of security, named Ali, was incredibly rude, ego-driven, and a poor communicator. He took us outside and searched our belongings in front of everyone, making a scene. He never apologized for his harsh and rude behavior. We have decided that we will definitely not be returning to that establishment. Instead, we went to Bloom, another nightclub, had an amazing time!!
This place is insanely high priced. Paid about $100 per ticket per person, didnt mind this because it was an artist I wanted to see. Went inside for a drink ordered 2 double cocktails. I asked for well but the bartender said only Titos or grey goose although I found out later friend of mine that order with another bartender got well. The most insane part, the bartender charged me $45 per drink. I got my reciept and she informed me that there was also a mandatory 18% gratuity over a certain amount my total was around $100 for 2 drinks! On top of that she asked that I tip her additionally on my reciept. Ive never paid over $25 bucks for a double even in Vegas and Festivals. I felt absolutely furious, Im not sure if it is the fault of the establishment or the staff for not informing patrons about pricing prior to serving customers. Needless to say but I did not have a great time after feeling absolutely recked by these prices. i didnt get any additional drinks, although I would have been absolutely happy too had I know prices before or if the price was more reasonable. I will not be returning to this establishment and I dont recommend that you do either.
I went to Mortens event the other night and am still reminiscing over how amazing it was!!! Overall 11/10 experience! The staff were very nice, professional. The venue was clean and stayed cool throughout the night! Which was a nice surprise! One of the security guards, Joseph, ensured I was safe throughout the night and had a great time. He even brought me a sealed water bottle when I was caught up at the front of the dance floor by the DJ booth! Felt like I had a personal body guard for the night!:)
A scam club! I bought a ticket in advance, and they denied me entry for no real reason. Avoid this scam place!!
Pretty mid experience here. $25 a drink, staff and crowd isn’t overly friendly. Music was generic and boring. They have multiple floors but everyone crowds on the bottom. I wouldn’t recommend this club unless there’s an artist you really want to see.
First EDM club I went to and the vibe/atmosphere was not what I expected it to be. The crowd was just standing around and wasn’t really vibing to what the DJ was playing. Place was expensive to get into as well.
Honestly a great club experience. Went here for Riot Ten last weekend - drinks weren’t insanely expensive, wasn’t too crowded, line didn’t take an absolute eternity to enter, security was thorough but not ridiculous. Only thing I’d say is the sound was way too quiet for all the opening sets. Once the headliner came on it was good, but prior to that, you could have a conversation in a normal speaking voice (not usually something that happens at a dubstep show). All in all, great night! I’d definitely come back.
This was an awesome Venue! Went here for the first time this past weekend for the Taylor Swift Rave. I will definetely be going back in the near future. ☺️
This is by far one of the best clubs in San Diego yes it gets packed in there but people are enjoying and having fun vibes. Tickets can be pricey depends on who is performing that weekend but it’s really fun.
To whom it may concern:I would like to start out by saying my wife and I have been to hundreds of EDM shows and festivals over the last eight years. Thanks to the military, weve been to almost every EDM festival and nightclub in the United States. Pasquale Rotella and Insomniac always do a great job of putting on amazing events. Pasquale Rotella and Insomniac are about one thing and that is the fans. That brings me to Nova SD. I have been to this club multiple times since being stationed in San Diego. The security are rude and disrespectful. They are clueless to the EDM culture. My wife and I get questioned about are attire everytime we go there. We wear classic rave attire such as brightly colored fun clothing with the kandi bracelets and necklaces like you would see at any EDM festival and nightclub around the world. We wear Nike Airmax 97s because we like to dance/shuffle. If you know anything about EDM, EDM and shuffling go hand in hand. These shoes are what 90% of shufflers wear. I am so sick and tired of having ask to speak to a manager, everytime we go to Nova. This club is all about one thing and that is the VIPs. They cater to the VIPs who are clueless as to who the DJs are and the EDM culture.Oddly enough, Pasquale Rotella and Insomniac own Nova. Pasquale would be disgusted if he were to pop in. Lower level managment and security dont understand the mission of Insomniac which is:We strive to create an environment where you can celebrate life, love, art and music, and be the truest version of yourself. We encourage you to spread good vibes and connect with your fellow Headliners by sharing stories, exchanging hugs, and giving high-fives. Positive energy is the core of our amazing community, and it always comes back to you.Dance, dream and have the time of your life.None of this would be possible without you
They over sell tickets and security guards are very rude. Nowhere to move or dance or even stand to enjoy the artist.
Got a table last night here for timmy trumpet and WOW!! What a show! This place has great energy, great service, great bottle choices, great prices, overall 10/10 recommend especially getting your table through Mark. He took care of me and my group quick and easily and has great energy on and off the dance floor. Definitely coming back!
I attended Nova this past weekend and let me tell you, beyond impressed!! Some of the best customer service I’ve experienced in a Nightclub environment. Tyler, our VIP Host was amazing! He provided our group with all the necessary information beforehand, checked in on us throughout the night, and walked us out of the club after we finished! Definitely will be back with my group for VIP in the future :)
The club itself was cool, not a long wait to get inside, not a long wait at the bar, ($101 for 5 shots of tequila though, but I guess that’s too be expected soooo just pregame if you drink lol) loved the use of Lasers and the screen behind the stage BUT THE PERFORMANCE! , that’s where the 5 starts come in, Saw ATliens and they put on an Amazing show, the use of mist and confetti just made the experience that much more fun! Crowd all together seemed very friendly too (as most of the true EDM crowd usually is
This place is a nightmare, if you are an LGBT person, avoid this club… BOTH of the times I went here I was treated extremely unprofessionally and disrespectfully by the bouncers as a gay man. I stood in the male line to be pat down and then was yelled at to stand in the female line when I got to the front (very rudely called ma’am), I informed the guy that I was a dude (i have long hair and dress fun for clubs but i have very clearly visible facial hair and I’ve never had this problem anywhere else), which was met with “ohhh uhhh go to him, he will pat you down instead” and when I walked over there the guy just puts his hands up like (hell no) and I’m like thanks guys, I don’t want to be touched by you regardless but you don’t have to be so disrespectful about it. This EXACT scenario happened TWICE. Not to mention we went to a show there and one of the openers was playing straight up gore as “visuals” for well over an hour. Disturbing. Got bad vibes from this place the first time I went and it was solidified after this last time. Save your money for a better club, this place is overcrowded for anyone worth seeing. I have never left a review for anything before and consider myself someone who’s very hard to offend, but this place takes the cake for worst club in SD for me!
Had a fun time celebrating my bach at at NOVA. It was lively but not overcrowded. Good club if you like EDM. Thank you to Mark and the NOVA staff for helping us feel pampered and making sure the delicious drinks were always flowing. Beautiful rooftop with great views and chill music.[4.5 rounding up]
Great EDM lineup, among some of the best Ive seen in San Diego. Crippled by one of the worst sound systems Ive ever heard in my life.On the dancefloor, its all bass to the point where its impossible to hear mids and highs. There are times where I literally cannot tell what song is playing because all I hear is a baseline. From the second floor, its slightly better -- but then it becomes clear how BAD the sound resolution in mids and highs are. It sounds like somebody took a pair of cheap $5 earbuds and redlined the bass to the expense of everything else.I cant express with enough words just how disappointed I am, especially with the sheer calibre of artists coming to this club. Such great potential sets are crippled by the speakers. If Tieso or Armin came here for free, I wouldnt come because I wouldnt be able to hear anythung worth listening to.The worst part is that the rooftop speaker system sounds MUCH better than the one on the dancefloor. Please please please fix the sound system. I dont buy that artists are pushing sound systems beyond what theyre capable of, because Im 0 for 3.
Have been here a few times since it opened and at first, it was great. But after my first two visits, every other time Ive been here has been awful. Bouncers are rude, loud, and pushy. Crowd is more so. Dont expect to be able to sit down anywhere at any point. The last night I went there, my friends and I had been dancing for a long time so we got tired and went up to the roof to get a breather before the headliner came on, tried to sit down at one of numerous empty benches and tables, and were told to get up every time. They purposely make the experience miserable for you unless you buy a table. They oversell their tickets too. Its always ridiculously packed to the point where you cant even hardly move on the dance floor, even at the back, because they have everyone packed in like sardines. Oh, and not to mention, theres only one entry/exit onto the floor. Thats it. So unless youre willing to fight your way through the rude people packed shoulder to shoulder, dont expect to be able to see the stage. We werent even allowed to stand towards the back because every time we tried to find an open space, even when we werent in the walkway, security came, shined flashlights directly in our faces, and yelled at us to get out of the way.Drinks are overpriced too. Expect to pay $25-30 for a simple, two-ingredient cocktail. And they pour weak. Not worth buying. All in all, they have some great artists, but every experience Ive had at NOVA since early July has been awful. As much as I would love to go and see some of my favorite DJs play, I will never be returning to NOVA.
The night club is very energetic. The dance floor has fantastic atmosphere, and roof lighting makes it even more happening place. The manager and staff are awesome. Food n drinks available. May be acoustics need a lil improvement with bass and second floor has a nice dance floor view. Overall it was great fun🤩
Great club, great people, great time! Mark is a wonderful promoter there who will make sure your evening goes perfectly. Nikki, Dj, and many more are some of the awesome staff who are just lovely. Everyone I encountered there was kind, respectful, and just there to have an awesome time. Saw one of my favorite djs there, Timmy trumpet 🎺 , and it was a fantastic evening. Highly recommend ❤️🤘
Was going to purchase tickets as the EDM part of this nightclub sounded very intriguing. Reading these reviews, sounds like this nightclub might end up being more of a nightmare, better have that Employee meeting asap boss! I dont doubt the reviews.
Staff was extremely rude. Didn’t communicate well for a major event. Didn’t allow open towed shoes and rejected people without proper notification
I really wish I could leave no stars but here we are at one. Recently a group of friends were hanging out and decided to give this night-club a try, heard good things about this place untillllll trying to enter. Everyone in the group was able to enter but the bouncer stopped the last member and told her she was cute but not cure enough to get in🤯 who says that? This was disgusting and I will never want to enter an establishment that turns someone away because the bouncer thought they werent attractive enough 😕 Maybe because she was black but who knows. He either needs to be fired or taught some manors.
I love this place! I love dubstep, and there arent many great venues that host dubstep artists. I have been able to see so many of my favorite DJs perform, and I have had an amazing time every time I go. Brigitte is one of my favorite bottle service supernovas. She and the rest of the Nova staff always makes us feel welcomed and we are always planning our next night there! (:
Hands down, one of the worst clubs I have ever been to. Security was rude and pushed us multiple times throughout the night. We were told to stand in a certain area then told to move. This happened the entire night. The bartenders were also very rude!! Never coming back here.
I went to NOVA SD for the first time on 8/27 and was really disappointed and outraged in how rude, untrained, and unaccommodating the staff were.I went with friends, one of whom uses an electric chair, as he cannot walk. The outing was for his birthday and we were all excited to celebrate it with him.He was denied access to the dance floor numerous times, told he was in the way of people and asked to move by staff. When he tried to move, he was told he was blocking a table (that was unoccupied along with a bunch of other tables). NOVA staff targeted him due to his mobility equipment when people standing and blocking right in the walk ways, were permitted to be. I would expect staff to be better trained at a place where they charge you 20 bucks just to get in.They also took his brand new pod to his vape pen when he entered even though it hadnt been in use and smoking was permitted on the roof. The over-all space is pretty, the audio was good and the artists were awesome, however that doesnt justify how he was treated. I support the effort event spaces make to create inclusive places as best they can.Dont think Ill be coming back here purely on principal.
I really enjoy myself at Nova now. Its sooo much better than when it was Omnia (nothing but horrible experiences there.) They have a nice relaxed dress code and the staff is friendly and efficient. I remember when it was Omnia, having tickets for the show and couldnt get in. They were really disorganized and rude. Big ups to Nova! They are doing a MUCH better job and bringing consistent world class talent on a weekly basis!
Bouncers at the front door like to steal things from people after patting them down. If you decide to come here make sure you come with pickets empty because the bouncers are either under paid to the point where they have to take things from their customers or they just were raised by animals by the looks of it.
Worst experience that I had in a club! I was dancing with my friend in the dance floor, something hit my friends head (a beer bottle or glass) and all I saw was blood on his face. The club is not safe at all. GM was so rude too.
Oh so much to say about NYE at Nova. Note - my expectations were high having seen Klingonde at the club NYE 3 years ago when it was Omnia. Zedd, the headliner started his set 3 minutes before midnight. I assume he was late due to having an 830pm set in the inland empire at countdown. Weird that they double booked. The drop at midnight was extremely weak…. No confetti… it was extremely disappointing. It was raining fairly hard upon leaving and there were easy ups in the walkway for patrons. At 1:00am before the club was even closing the bouncers forced people out from under and closed them forcing patrons who just spent 500 - 5000 dollars into the pouring rain. It was so heartless and unnecessary. The greedy club was still selling 200 dollar tickets 30 minutes before closing. I can’t express loudly enough my disappointment in the new ownership of this club. Save the money and go anywhere else.Still a cool club but if you are going to play EDM music try to adopt the culture of looking out for one another. Really not cool yelling at people who just spent a bunch of money at your place of business and pushing them into the rain. Maybe have a team meeting around culture of being kind, making sure everyone is safe, people > profits, etc.
I have been to many edm concerts at places similar including vegas and I have never seen so many people get dragged out by EMS or by bouncers barely responsive. Also have never seen a place so overpacked. Not even in Vegas. Not even room to walk from the area that’s not even where the standing room for the DJ is. Doors opened at 9:30 but the first artist started at 9:30 and they did not start letting anyone in till 9:45 and they were very slow so we missed part of his set and that’s why we flew into San Diego in the first place.
Way better than the old Omnia! I was skeptical but pleasantly surprised and impressed. Bottle/Table service is the way to go. Our host Mark went above and beyond making us truly feel VIP status. He was constantly checking on us and made us feel valued as customers not as dollar signs like most other venues. I will be coming more often and highly recommended
Had a great time. Great music and vibe. People are cool. Staff is excellent, Especially Thomas. Dude was very cordial and polite.
Just went to Nova San Diego for the first time since Insomniac took over the venue. Had an amazing time and of course we went big for Memorial Day Weekend and saw International Superstar DJ Benny Benassi so we booked a table to party in style! Their VIP Table Service was top notch from beginning to end! Be sure to ask for VIP Cocktail Hostess Taylor Ashley she was a Diamond all night and delivered the best party experience ever!
Not a safe place to spend time. We were on the dance floor and something was thrown at our friend from top floor or the cieling. Lots of bleeding. The manager was terrible and didnt even acknowledge their responsibility to find the cause or sympathise and even kicked us out!
0/10 never recommend going here if youre trying to see an artist. Horrible place for music. All this place cares about is shoving as many bodies in as possible, and catering to those that pay for bottle service/a table. Ive been shoved to the ground and picked up by random men and security doesnt do anything because they cant even get through the oversold crowd themselves. Only go here if youre into the club type scene and have money to burn, but even then, why?
Had a great time over MDW for Acraze. Mark B. was an excellent host that made sure me and my ever-evolving group of friends who were in town for a wedding had the best table available. The bride and groom loved their bottle presentation. Thanks again for a wonderful time!
Came to see DJ Pauly D had a blast and great music!Thoo the drinks we purchased last night must had been the most expensive drinks Ive ever paid in my entire life. Never have I had to pay $160 for a double shot for 4 people. Ive been to so many bars and clubs. Way over priced. Not only that they messed up and charged my friend 160 on his card and told him that his card declined but ended up charging his card anyways. Then I paid the $160 on my card since we thought his declined. So we ended up paying $320 total for those 4 drinks. This is terrible and Ive read a few other customer reviews on this club and they ran into the same problem.I dont recommend going to this club unless you can afford 10x the liquor price 🤮
This club was definitely needed in San Diego as there hasn’t really been a large EDM club!! The staff is friendly and helpful! The security at this club really knows how to speak to customers as some clubs security gets hot headed and at Nova the security team are all very pleasant and know that people who come to nova are all PLUR vibes. Also the bottle service girls, all come out with high energy and the presentation they do are over top (in an amazing way)!! It really sets the vibe for the night and makes it that much more fun!
Went to see Svdden Death over Labor Day weekend, and security forced me to go across the street to a bar to buy a t shirt since they didn’t approve of the jersey I was wearing, even though artist merch was supposed to be allowed. Later on in the night, I slipped on a drink that someone had spilled, and security brought me into the back room to talk to EMTs, claiming they’d been watching me and thought I’d had too much to drink, even though I hadn’t had anything to drink that night
Saw John Summit, he’s 5 stars, the venue not so much. Cool place, roof top was sick, but way too overcrowded. The ventilation was a life saver, but I’ve never been that packed in at an event before. Highly recommend selling less tickets to improve customer experience. Not sure if I’ll be back here.
Where to start.. we picked Nova to celebrate New Year and Bday and rented a cabana and bottle service. On the way out of club security guys were extremely rude and racist toward us and were pushing girls and guys out of the club. Ive never experienced treatment like this in my life. This is how you treat your clients? This is how you treat people that spend $$ and bring you business? To top this off, my boyfriend was pushed several times and then two heavy security guys literally pulled Rolex watch off of his wrist. When he started asking them where was the watch, they simply left and ignored our requests and all the attempts to find out what happened to the watch. Please do not go to this trash place as they are a bunch of rude people who rob their clients
My boyfriend & I went to Nova SD to see Bennie Benassi and the show was Amazing. We were so excited to go again and brought my daughter and her boyfriend this time to see Joyride. This was the worst experience we have ever as we got there and waited for over two hours listening to what sounded like a broken record with the same beat over and over and over and over again. After asking 2 times when Joyride was going to start and being told in 30 minutes both times we finally got the clue that this was a bunk night at Nova SD.They claim the are a club and not a venue....if this is the case be more clear on your advertisement and clearly state that the DJ people come and want to see start at a certain time. The club is uncomfortably cold and standing around with DJs that cants spin more than one beat is a waste of money & time. Extremely disappointed after telling so many friends how amazing this place was!
Despite the big name headliners, just another club. The main center, which is not that big, is not enough to house all who purchased tickets, so youll be standing in the very back next to bars if you dont come early to camp it or would have to push through a big crowd - way too packed. Youd think there would be crowd control given the limit to ticket sales.Drink prices were near $20 with what seemed like a normal amount of alcohol for one drink as opposed to other heavy-handed, expensive club drinks. At this price to alcohol quantity, not worth it.Way too much security to even groove that are standing around hovering you and shining lights everywhere - too excessive. Kills the vibe.If you dont have a table, dont even bother unless you want to check it out. There are other better spots for the price to vibe ratio.Theyll eventually get bought out yet again and replaced like all the others before it. Reassess your business. First and last time here.
Fun nightclub but really weird about dress codes. Men cannot enter with shorts. Same issue with bartenders- women in thongs/ bras and the men with pants/tshirts. Let people wear what they want when it is not offensive to others. People do not mind mens calves for goodness sakes.
Saw John Summit for his debut. He was epic. Club was subpar not to mention the crowd that this place attracts is beyond juvenile. Let’s start with the club. Sound system 7/10. Highs were awful. Vocals in tracks were drowned out by the mids and bass. Which were not very great either. Need more staff. Waited too long for drinks. Bathroom situation. Awful. There’s like 1 per floor. Example, guys line was always longer than the ladies. Maybe more dudes in there than woman. Could be the case. I guess that’s another issue if you’re going there to meet woman. All in all if was fun but only because of John Summit. So if you’re favorite dj is showing up. You’ll have a fun time. Don’t expect a Vegas club. This isn’t it.
If you go to this club you need to be careful. The bartenders intentionally give you the most expensive alcohol in mixed drinks which runs up the tab aggressively. Also, they charge you for mints in the bathroom - absurd!! The music is mid and everything is over priced. I would recommend going somewhere else so that you don’t end up spending hundreds of dollars and taking out a second mortgage.
Went there twice for James Hype performance and Discolines. It’s overflowed with people which you can’t move at all let alone dance. Unless you want to be in the second floor.Drinks about $20 which is okay.Bouncers they acted so cocky.Male bartender in the first floor he’s nice and sweet.
This club was Omnia before the Pandemic. Bought out by Vegas promoters. 3 story venue with bars and restrooms on each level. The 3rd story is an outdoor terrace and smoking area. We went to see Tiesto ( Techno DJ). This was an amazing show. The sound system was great. Lasers, video display, lights, smoke machines, confetti all super. However, ALL seating was roped off and VIP. VIP is $$$$, thousands of dollars. The thing you hate about Vegas is now in San Diego. Dance floor was overcrowded and the VIP booths were not completely occupied. No place to sit! Water was expensive and the AC was inadequate. San Diego weather was in the 50s outside and we were in a crowded Venue sweating. Nova needs some improvements and has potential to be great.
Had a fun night at the Night Trip event. Secret lineup brought out 3 great djs and boi the venue was great! Friendly staff all around, it’s the people who get hammered and take paraphernalia who make the night worse for everyone around or leave bad reviews 5/5.
Lacking hospitality but might land you in the hospital.First off illenium, himself was great, but he can just preform in your backyard and just be as great. I’ve seen him many times and he’s amazing. The women who checked me in were nice and the bartender was friendly, but other than that the staff needs improvement. Bouncers were aggressive and made me feel uncomfortable. Some of the bottle service girls just stared and never smiled. Even when they ask if I wanted a drink they looked bothered. One bouncer literally almost knocked me over for no reason. There was nothing urgent and there was a bunch of space next to me that could of fit 5+ people standing. There was no reason for human impact. Luckily I was in sneakers because if I wore heels I would of fell and seriously been hurt. Another one just kept standing in front of me and blocking my view. My fiancé told me they kept shoulder checking him all night. (Two days after his shoulder was actually in pain). We love illenium so we tried not letting that get to us. But they were next to us 100% of the time and didn’t leave us alone. we tried getting a vip table but it was sold out so we almost got the dj table but decided to see how the venue was first. I’m not impressed. Dj table is basically watching tv at your own home because you’re so far away you have to watch a screen. This club needs a staff meeting. Please retrain your staff or replace them. What’s the point of having bouncers supposedly there to protect you when they’re actually the one who physically hurt your customers for absolutely no reason. Also negative and rude staff kills the vibe. Very uncomfortable. not worth your 8k maybe more $30-50. It’s far from upscale. I was really hoping this was going to be our new replacement for The Armory since we just moved here and love going to shows every weekend.
I went back to see Zedd last night and wow that was a amazing set. Security and overall staff stepped up. They were extremely friendly and the guard standing by the vip table was extremely nice and friendly. Bartenders were heavy handed too. The security guard let my gf go past the rail and take a video of Zedd and the crowd. It was great!!! The crowd did get extremely pushy at one point but elbows out and people got the idea 🤣.Overall amazing experience. My right ear is ringing. We got to see Zedd on the streets after. So thats cool too 😜.Good job nova. Thanks for stepping it up!Old post:Some security here are extremely rude. I was standing by a wall with my girl and a 64 tall security guy straight shoved me and my girl extremely hard and almost knocked us down. The rest of the security uses flash lights to get through. We talked to other people and they were getting shoved also.He threatened to kick us out when we were just dancing. We ended up talking about his behavior to another security guard. He proceeded to stop pushing people and started to use a flashlight. Some security were super helpful and nice and others were rude.Went to the Jauz set. It was not that great of a set as its more geared towards a club event rather then a edm scene. Which is understandable. I really wanted it to feel like a mini festival but wasnt.Place looks great. its has a nice layout but over all experience was subpar.
Nova is the top of the line for a clubbing experience in San Diego. VIP host Tyler has gone above and beyond each time I’ve visited and really he goes out of his way to take care of you/ your group. Highly recommend Tyler & Nova for a night out in SD.
EDIT: since going back to see Oliver Heldens, I had a much more pleasant experience. Firstly, they had like 6 industrial fans above the floor and they were BLASTIN. Such a nice feeling. Service was great and security was too, only interaction I had was when they asked us to move because we were blocking the path. A bit crowded but still room on the dancefloor if you find it.Jauz and Diplo should have been great club experiences but this place cant decide who they are catering too, club or edm/festival/plur vibes. Poor ventilation, even for a club. Overcrowding was a huge problem too. If it werent for the killer lineups, this place would not be as cool. Really thought insomniac would have managed this place better than they are. Please for the love of God make some serious improvements by Oliver Heldens.
So…I was totally nervous about going to see Cash Cash here after seeing all the negative reviews but it was sooooo much fun!! Could be bc Cash Cash always puts on an amazing show but everyone that worked there was actually super nice!! The bouncers, door people, bartenders, everyone was just nice and it was such a good time!! We are so used to going to EDM shows in Houston (my husband is from there) so Nova had a lot to live up to but it was actually not bad at all. It’s not actually like a club vibe I feel, it could also be that I was just so into the music that I didn’t see anything else but literally everyone was just dancing together, it was a lot of fun. Definitely give it a chance and also, do not wear heels!! I opted for Doc Martens so I could jump and dance, sooo worth it!!
The worst manager works here! Not a safe place at all. My friend’s head just got hit by a glass from the upper floor while he was dancing. It was blood everywhere but the manager even didnt care to apologize to us. They were so rude. Dont go there at all.
Gets way too packed on the main dance floor and the entrance and exit is too small. When you open your tab you have to go to the same person you opened your tab with in the first place. No re-entry into the club. Overall it sucks and the staff is rude.
It was my birthday on Saturday and I decided to celebrate at Nova by seeing my favorite artist, what a terrible mistake. I was kicked out for being “too drunk” after buying ONE DRINK... BUYER BEWARE: What really happened is that the bouncers hang out right in front of the exit and as the night goes on, and the nightmare of a crowd they oversell fills up the space, they will start pushing you out the door for whatever made up reason to make space when you walk anywhere near the exit. To the owner who might make up some excuse of a response, I am really not interested in your mediocre apology. Your team of bouncers are composed of incompetent men who received little to no training in how to work in the entertainment industry. Claiming you will retrain them does nothing. You need a clean slate and to hire a new team who actually cares about your business and the customers whilst creating value for you instead of deterring the people who spend money and support the venue. I had the absolute worst birthday of my entire life here. I will discourage everyone I know from coming here. I will also be visiting the BBB and reporting this place.
Why does security pat down ladies with their hands instead of a wand when they enter the venue? Also security looked through my niece’s Wallet and credit cards. Why? You tossed out a personal little hand sanitizer from Bed Bath and Beyond. Why? None of these actions are posted on your website as being your policies. You are not Airport TSA. Even on a plane I can take a small hand sanitizer.
Always have a good time coming here. Lucky to have this place in San Diego♥️. they have hosted some of my favorite EDM artists like Vicetone, Han Solo, Deorro and Alan walker. I hope you guys can get Barnacle Boy in here someday.
Dangerous doesn’t even begin to explain this place. Apart from the poorly designed floor with one staircase to the dance floor that causes Travis Scott level crowd packing, security is completely incompetent. At Kaskade, there were two huge fights that broke out on the 2nd floor that went on for 10 minutes each and were never broken up by security despite the fact that they were standing nearby. They were fighting so close to the balcony one of the guys could have been thrown off. My friends and I were just trying to vibe to Kaskade and instead, I was hit by a random punch meant for someone else and my friend had a drink thrown at them. It was absolutely disgraceful and honestly, a complete embarrassment to Insomniac. I hope it doesn’t take someone getting seriously injured for you guys to realize you need to do better.
MARK B & Nova staff! Thank you for hosting us and showing my guys a wonderful time🙏 As usual we are always met n greet in the best way escorted all the way, even our personal security to the mens room! Hats off n hands down. Much love crew🤙🤙🙏🙏♥️♥️
Insomniac Music Club in San Diego. Have gone to 4 shows with the same experience. Unfortunately the PLUR is out-weighed by the sloppy straight bros (likely visiting) who push and shove with no finesse. Would have been nice to have the club designed by someone who understood that it may be nice to have more than one small exit/entry from the dance floor. Don’t worry ya’ll, once you leave you can get a $25 shot to help you forget the misery. The artists are fire but better seen somewhere else.
They have the most annoying bouncers. You basically pay to be treated like a criminal. Every second they keep nagging you to move. Wherever you try to stand they have a problem with it. I went to have a good time, not to be annoyed. The only reason I go is because they sometimes have DJs I love.
This is a nightclub. Dont come here expecting anything else. I think for a nightclub it was alright but of course drinks are expensive and the crowd is too packed. There is a lot of security and a strict 1:45 am ending time. I will give four stars for the security acting insane about people standing anywhere near the venue after the show ended.
Thank goodness for Nova SD! I am a huge EDM fan and this is the place I’ve been waiting for. Awesome DJs, super friendly staff, killer drinks. This is 10 stars above Omnia(rip)! If you have questions or need something above and beyond, Ashley (Ops Manager) will get back to you promptly and make it happen. Most nightclubs these days won’t even respond. Ten stars!!!
It is not a dance club. It’s a sold-over-capacity standing venue.
I came to Nova to see Illenium and it did not disappoint! The sound, lights, fog machine, and confetti created an amazing atmosphere in the venue. All the staff were super friendly :) I had a great time and I cant wait to come back for the next show!
I liked the music, but the drinks I had were some of the worst tasting Ive had, while also more expensive than the drinks at most music venues I go to. Would be 1 star if it wasnt for the music and dance floor.
Came here for the first time, I was dancing with my friends on the main floor and someone stole my phone out of my purse that was ON MY SHOULDER. I was completely shocked and embarrassed. My driver’s license was inside my phone case. I went to the front desk and tried to tell them what happened, they said I had to wait until they closed. It was 11:45pm and they close at 2am. I left and tried to call the next day. No response. Bad experience and I can’t come back, unless I bring a lock on my purse.
Worst experience I’ve ever had. Extremely oversold. We were told where we could and could not stand/dance. The $2000 plus tables were EMPTY and once they got ppl, they overflowed because these tables were sold at 18+ persons but could probably hold 10 max. Don’t go expecting to experience your DJ, and expect to pay minimum 16 a drink.
The clubs in LA are so much better. We saw one on my favorite DJs here- the middle was too crowded, weird circle layout so people kept bumping into me, trying to exit. The bad reviews on Google are true lol. Won’t be going back.
Came to club NOVA SD for a company event. They rented out the entire establishment. The club did not dissapoint. Truth be told I HATE night clubs. But if they are something you enjoy I dont think this one would dissapoint. 3 levels with a bar on each. VERY clean seating, tables, floors and bathrooms. I mention the floors because in every night club Ive even been in, they just feel tacky and gross. NOVA was a high end club, by comparison to most. Recommend it if its a downdown experience you might enjoy.
Edit: I am upgrading my review which you can find below because insomniac has done a lot of work in the last few months to improve the place. The security is much nicer now. The girls are more festival like. The talent for the opening acts has been really decent if not amazing at times. The production is slowly improving but is an area that I feel still needs work. More lazers, more screens, less darkness. I know they can deliver a truly immersive experience if they keep upgrading. They also just need to stop overbooking events. The club is too small for some of the talents they put on and when the place is packed it can make for an unpleasant experience with nowhere to stand. All in all I look forward to what insomniac will do with the place.I was expecting a lot more from insomniac. It doesnt seem like they did much with the old omnia. Best they have to offer is the banger headliners, but they could have done better with talent playing earlier in the night. Overall I had a good time, but I think insomniac could have done more to provide a more immersive experience. I wasnt sure if I should expect plur vibes or club vibes but it was more like a bad mixture of both.
Im giving it five stars because the review should stay high and everyone should see it. This place is really bad, the security guards inside warn you like the traffic police even to tell you at what point to wait. security at the entrance is much worse. By the way, I saw two people fighting with knives in the toilet. My girlfriend and I were very scared.
Went to see Jauz last night and was so stoked to have an insomniac run joint in downtown SD so we can stop making the haul to LA - however this is NOT it! If you are looking for these headlining DJs to come and throw down some of their music think again. Every song merged into the next with zero change and before you knew we were leaving after listening to the same beat for 2 hrs. Let me be clear - THIS IS A CLUB not a venue which I must have misunderstood when following the buildup for the opening first few weeks. We danced and drank so overall still a good night out but I will definitely think twice before buying any tix to shows at the NOVA. The palladium smashes this place to pieces. Such a bummer Pasquale :(
Bouncer took my wallet and opened it without permission, i had 4 $100 bills in it and after he gave it back i had 3. I lost some business cards and other stuff too. You do not take someones wallet and open/check it while they are giving you their back. You do so while they can see what you are doing. Never coming back.
I took a group to Nova a few weekends ago to see Zedd. Zedd was incredible- to be expected. We had bottle service on the floor level and @Taylorashley813 was our server and hostess extraordinaire. We had such a good time! Taylor took very good care of us, and the sound quality and energy at Nova were just what we were looking for to kick the summer off right. We will defo be back- can’t wait to see what other big names they get over the summer.
Went here for the illenium show ,Ill start with the great parts of the venue , the staff was amazing , Vip/ booth made you feel like a prince or princess, the bar was amazing great vibes and the Top floor with the projection of the set at Dance floor was absolutely amazing. What the Club in my opinion got wrong enough to take away from my experience was the immovable dancefloor , not good flow , but as to be expect for a sold out show , the sound system needs a major update , parts of the dance floor you could just look over and talk to the person next you , the lyrics from the many artists didnt sound clear . Overall I feel like a club so focused on the talent with the new brand Name Nova , would upgrade every part of the guest experience as far as the show and sound goes.Over all I hoped Nova being Insomniacs new project would take inspiration from all of the other beautiful things they do , It felt like a reskinned ominia, and more of a real-estate acquisition and in my eyes. In my opinion detracts from the Insomniac name and doesnt add to it. I dont know if they wanted to keep it buttoned up as a downtown, suit and tie / black dress venue. But that is the vibe It gave me, gathered from the lack of decoration.Sandiego is becoming a new hub for Edm culture, just look as far as petco parks booming shows , and the embarcaderos latest successes.I recommend bringing set and festival designers in for a decoration upgrade to elevate the vibe.Even with the gripes , I still had a good time ! I just believe there is room for improvement. Big thanks to the amazing staff for adding to the night !
An awesome, up close venue to the DJ’s you wanna see.Feb was Deadau5, last night was Diplo.Table service are Vegas priced, but giving the seating capacity, likely a strong choice for larger groups.Don’t pass up a chance to check this place out… all the complaining reviews really don’t make sense. It’s a super fun time!!
The service group here are literally racists, especially the guy name Thomas, I’m not sure if he told me the real name, he’s the white dude with beards. Because my friend and I are Asian, he asked us how long you’ve been in America while checking the id and questioned it. Even tho we were born and raised here in California
A very memorable night club. One of my personal favorites in California. High Quality Service and Layout. 2 DJs too. Roof area amazing
Suzy and Mike at the front door are definitely at the top of people working in nightlife in San Diego. The best door staff you could ask for.
Walked in off the street to see one of my favorite DJs. Mark came up and helped me out. Rolled out the red carpet for a lack of better words. Made the night super special and checked in on me throughout the night to make sure everything was perfect. Cant speak more highly of the service and club. Thanks so much Mark. We will be back!!
Had an amazing time at Nova. We had a table, our VIP host Mark was the best. Staff was great, Zedd put on a great show. 10/10, will be back.
Got tickets for the Phantogram DJ set. The doors opened at 9:30 and they hadn’t come on by midnight, so I left! The played the same DJ for HOURS before and it was horrible. I heard people all around me complaining. Definitely not coming back.
Bouncers are cool. Managers outside are weirdos and take their job too seriously. Short manager tried hitting on my girl and didn’t let her in when she rejected him.
They oversell their tickets then have security yell at you for being in the only places available to stand. you’re better off spending the money you’d spend to see your favorite artists somewhere else. this place was a complete bust.
Bouncer was clearly methed out and tried to claim my brand new Drivers license from the DMV was “photoshopped” as his jaw tore through his skull. His co-workers clearly saw what was happening but didn’t say anything. Luckily i had a copy of my passport but I’m 30 - and don’t look close to a person under 21 trying to sneak in. Absolute joke. Still got in and had an okay time but when the staff is clearly that high it’s a sad sad state of things.
Bad experience. Club was super oversold everyone was crammed in so tight it was a fight to even get to the bathroom (I’m not even talking about the dance floor I mean the walkways). A friend of mine was kicked out for being ‘too drunk’ after we hit the bar literally once, which seems like the clubs way of dealing with overcapacity.Yikes
Enjoyed my time for Matroda! Got a table through Mark B. Super helpful and made it easy. Will be coming back again soon!
Came to see KSHMR, which in ticket it said it starts at 9:30pm. But when I arrived and waited for 1 hour with some DJs not interested. The staff told me KSHMR started at 12pm. Doesn’t make any sense! Waste the money to buy the ticket and waste of time to wait there. Don’t go!!
Paz took great care of us this last weekend. He was attentive, nice, and detail oriented. He definitely made our night!
10/10 do not recommend going to this club if you wanna have a good time. Oversold and not worth the time spent trying to force yourself to have a good time despite being shoulder to shoulder and having no room to navigate the dance floor or the walkways. Do better
Worst VIP service. $3000 for what. To be accused and not told any information after one of our friends was taken to the hospital. Rude owner & staff. The only cool nice person there was the lady who checks the bags. Do not recommend this trash place.
Insomniac has brought some awesome talent to San Diego! Great DJs and a VERY friendly staff! Love to see all the improvements each time I go in!
Had the best time celebrating my birthday! Paz booked our table and he made sure we were taken care of the whole night.
We already had our tickets yet would have had to wait in a ridiculously long line with everyone who needed tickets? Not cool. Luckily Gaslamp has plenty of other spots to enjoy.
Awesome night club! The hospitality from our host Mark Banez was top notch! He is very professional and made my experience a memorable one!
The Nova SD nightclub has brought some of the best edm artists to San Diego! The staff is hardworking and service is 5 stars
This location has safety problems, with objects falling from the ceiling and the upper floor. The staff is very rude, and the manager is the most unpleasant person Ive ever encountered.
My friend got hit in the head and no body took responsibility , they were all rude , there was no one form medic just security personEven though my friend was covered in blood but no body cares , manager came and not only he did not apologize to is but also he threaten us to not call the policeAnd the end we had to call the police make the report and they sent us medical help
Club was a vibe. Staff was great. Bottle service girls kind and sweet.BARILAN AND HABSTRACT WERE FIYYYEEE !
Small over packed club! Dangerous to get into the crowd with no room to move or escape if a bad situation arose. Can’t even stand on the outskirts of the table area, almost forced to go into the packed and dangerous crowd. Never going back!
I was really impressed with the talent, all throughout the club. Well designed space and stellar bottle service as well.
Not a safe dance floor, very rude and disrespectful staffs. We had horrible night. Won’t come back again and won’t recommend this place to anyone!
We always have a great time at Nova because the staff is very courteous and friendly, and the people are very PLUR 🫶
Cool place but insanely over priced, auto tip on anything over $70, and they pack you like sardines into the floor. They also have like 500 security guards which just adds to the chaos
Very trendy and has great artists, but is overcrowded and overpriced. Be prepared to sweat, push through people constantly, and spend a lot!
Told me my federal government issued Military ID was not a real form of ID.California law has already stated that military IDs can be accepted for entry to bars and purchasing alcohol.I guess they just hate service members
Paz was the BEST and got us a great table this past weekend- we had an awesome time. Hit him up!!
Pretty bad concert venue overall. Its very much a club with bottle service type of place. Definitely wouldnt recommend it for seeing artists.
Not a safe place to go. Someone throw a glass from the top floor and hit him in the head. Very rude gm manager. Will never go back again.
Save your money and go to Spin Nightclub. One drink is 35$. Went to go see James Hype who didn’t start until after 12, when the club closes at 2am. Only giving two stars for the fans blowing and the lights.
Brian gave us excellent service the other day he is amazing we had a great time the food was great not to mention the pace of how fast our bartenders gave us drinks shout out to Brian for making sure we felt welcomed
Security guy tonight was absolutely impudence, ruined the whole imagine of the club !
Probably had the best experience last night. Amazing people, great vibes. Amazing security and staff.
Horrible experience. Bouncers are very rude. Worst place in SD.
Love this place!! Clean, safe,Would appreciate the AC being turned up a bit more when everyones dancing but I go here once a month and always look forward to it
Bouncers and doormen are rude, only real way to enjoy this place is with a table. No room to dance, poor bar service.
Amazing atmosphere. Really large multilevel club. Can get pretty crowded!
Cool club. Nice remodel and good vibes.
Security knocked my $20 drink out of my hand and just kept it moving like nothing happened. Hold on to your drinks tight because security likes to basically start mosh pits.
Way too crowded don’t want to dance
Nova is absolutely the best nightclub I’ve been to . Great environment good music and the servers are so beautiful and nice .
I have been to nova in the passed it was fun but last week when I was just picking up a group of friends one of the security guards threatened me because I was standing on a public sidewalk.
Haven’t been out much recently, but our host Mark made sure we had a great experience that I can barely remember!
Venue itself is amazing, but drinks prices make Petco Park look cheap.
Went here for my bday super cool!! The staff was very professional and the venue was big and beautiful!
Most magical night ever!!
Drinks are $20-50 each, they will literally spend the entire night telling you that you cant stand here but the music is good
Great place to have lots of fun. Highly recommended.
Avoid this night club. Bought tickets to see a show and the host didn’t even show up. Security managers are also rude and disrespectful.
Great club and vibes, Mark is awesome and great at setting up bottle service for us. Thank You Mark
As someone that works in Law enforcement and a former security guard one of your security guards was power hungry I was biting my tongue the entire night to not put him in his place.
Good vibes, great drinks! The DJs are on point!! 🔥 This is the spot to see the next big show in town!
They overbook to the point that theres no standing room. Practically like a can of sardines. You are constantly being push around.
Highly recommend If you’re a fan of EDM no club can compete.
My favorite club is back! I liked the Omnia name better tho haha. Looking forward to many more shows here!
Super fun! Plus that bartender Austin is such a hunk. I always love Austins.
By far the best EDM venue in Southern California. Nova SD is a vibe!
Blocking side walks to make it look like alot of people are there, inside is a dump. Don’t waste your time.
Saw Illenium last night, couldnt have been better. Packed dance floor. Good vibes all around.
Finally a good reliable club in San Diego. Insomniac always does it right. Massive production and massive names go check it out
The bouncers are extremely aggressive and do not care about guests.
Speakers are blown out! As much money as they make here, they can definitely invest in a better sound system.
Horrible bottle service experience here. They still have a lot to figure out.Edit: Thank you for the reply. Google does not allow me to reply to your question. Only edit my original post.
Like a Vegas club but much less regret in the morning. Great staff, especially Kellen behind the bar.
Coming from Canada. Definitely different dress code. I dont recommend
This place is amazing! Showed up just for the vibezzz and ended the night with WAYYY more than just that.Five fire flame emojis I love this place!!
Stay away from this place. Very unprofessional and unsafe. I wish I could give them zero star !
Nova is cool but its kinda cramped I hope you have a table
Great club and hospitality from the host Mark is very professional and made my experience comfortable recommend it.
The most stupid place you want to go on a weekend, the rudest manager you could encounter!
Great venue and amazing production. An unforgettable night!!
Decent .Way too overcrowded however to the point it becomes a nightmare to even move which aggravates people. Mostly me.
