Dark, dirty and in need of major updates. This place was fun years ago. It has definitely fallen behind the times. Bartenders are rude and I feel very unsafe while there. The Parking lot is too dark to feel safe walking to and from your car. Also the highest cover charge in Jacksonville. $10 a person on a slow night with nothing going on. Just go down the road to Park Place where there is no cover charge and better atmosphere.

Happy Hour specials really good. All the bartenders are great, especially Billy! Very personable & friendly staff. Mix of lesbians and gay men. A little more smokey than what I like, but the drinks are good and the people are friendly.

My wife and I love this club. We go on Saturdays and always have a great time. The piano bar is fantastic, especially since you can sing with the piano player. Later in the night the club really becomes fun. You have a drag show in one room, dancing in the main room,(with a drag show too), and the piano bar all going full throttle. So if you are looking for a great Saturday night, this is the place. Just an FYI, I would suggest getting there around 10PM. Thats when the club begins to pick up. HAVE FUN!!!!!!!!!

I love Metro, its one of my favorite clubs. But the drinks are just way too expensive. They do have a lot of different types of entertainment and unique shows. The staff is excellent, professional and fun! Metro is also very welcoming to everyone, regardless of sexual orientation or identity.

I came from Michigan on vacation with family and wanted a night to get out and have some fun. I took an uber to metro and was kinda nervous about going out alone. As soon as I ordered a drink all my anxiety was completely gone!! The bartenders were both great. Within minutes I was meeting locals at the bar and having a great time. Even got to see a drag show while in town!! All in all highly impressed for a night out!! Will definitely return for vacation with friends!!

Well first off, I randomly googled gay friendly bars in Jacksonville. The website made it seem pretty cool so I decided to check it out on a Thursday night with some friends. When I first pulled up my first thought for some reason was old creepy motel.. We walked in and paid $10 for the all u can drink special.. Yeah right. The bartender barely even will look your way unless youre waving a tip$ in your hand. Then one of the drag queens will announce in the microphone IF YOU DONT HAVE ANY LIQUEUR IN YOUR DRINK ITS BC YOUR NOT TIPPING! So pretty much u end up having to pay more than the advertised special if you really want to get tipsy and be able to enjoy the half empty room with one guy dancing on the stage the whole time . Once the show started I was halfway drunk so it was entertaining at that point. Lol. Cream on the crop is when I go back to my car and see someone has rolled my window down and tried to break in!! Everything is thrown everywhere from the glove compartments just thankfully they didnt steal my car! I had a decent time (seeing as how I never go out) outside of that and the bartender. I may go back on a weekend just to try it out one more time but this time I will park near the door.

LOVED the Easter theme one of the dancers sported! SO CREATIVE! Havent had this much fun at the metro since sneaking in under aged 15 years ago.As to the employees, your jealous stares were visible across the entire building. Next time maybe use creative (guest) dancers to your advantage, schedule appropriate and work together.Best for people between 18-25(tops)

Several choices in the Metro where you can party! Have a wonderful night enjoying the drag performances and comedic MC!!! The drinks and cover charge are affordable so have a terrific time everytime you go to the Metro. The parking lot is kind of nondescript and this makes the Metro sort of hard to locate if you dont already have an idea where it is.

Amazing! Bartenders are the sweetest! The drag shows are stunning!So much room!And Kareoke with Chase on Wednesdays and Thursdays are such a relaxed time!

I’m giving metro 5 stars because the staff here is amazing! They make great drinks and are super friendly!! Only negative I would say is the place definitely needs a remodel. But if you go to metro you will have a great experience!

Place is so run down not even funny. Lack of maintenance. Disgusting bathrooms, floors, horrible music and even worse entertainment. It’s such a shame that the owners are so complacent with how things are run. Not sure how it stays in business. Not like there are many other options in town either. Anyone who has to do a $10 all you can drink sounds desperate to me. True shame. They should sell it and let someone else take over who cares.

If you hate cigarettes, avoid! My clothes reeked of cigs afterwards. The bartender that I had was very loud, seemed like he was on something, and refused to take my order initially whenever I told him I wanted a typical cocktail over some random concoction that he made. Asked for my bill, he ignored me twice, and kept trying to flirt with my partner and I. If you want to enjoy a classy night club in Jacksonville, go to a straight club. Have been multiple times to Metro while visiting and it’s always a let down. No wonder everybody goes to Orlando and Miami for nightlife.

The smoking indoors is just disgusting. They should consider having an outdoor area for smokers. The drag show seemed more focused on getting tips instead of entertainment. The music was great but the atmosphere needs an overhaul.

Very nice place, I had a blast. Great staff, awesome people! Dance floor was nice, piano bar for a more chill vibe. Its got everything you could want for a night out.

Its kind of funny I cant see my review anymore. A couple months back I had went there one night and had a pocket knife thing on me but was never wanded down with the metal detector. Im a white passing Latino. I sat and stayed in clear view of the front door. The only people I saw get wanded down were two black people wearing spandex suits. If they had any weapons on them it would have been blatantly obvious because of how tight-fitting spandex are. When do you say thats a problem that only the black people were getting checked and nobody else?

Closest thing to an upscale nightclub in Jacksonville. A little less than “first-class,” but a good approximation at a really affordable price. Really great on Saturdays with a passable showing the rest of the week and major, frequent community events.

Well New Years (last night) was our first time ever to Metro.... We recently moved to this area from Columbus Ohio. The area seemed kinda scary so we tried to park as close to the building as possible. The older gentlemen at the front door was very friendly and told us the layout of the bar. We was waiting on friends to arrive so we decided to get a drink at the front bar where the dance floor was... Bartender was very unfriendly... we both kinda just stood there in shock as this was a first for us... considering bartenders moreless work for tips... so we walked to the other room where the pool tables was and the bartender in this area was so much friendlier...Our scores for this club would be as follows:Area: 1/2 star... becareful is all i can say... do not leave nothing valuable in your carOutside of bar: 1 star... considering this is a gay bar you would think it would be nice on the outside... but it looks run downStaff: 4 stars... the front bartender i would give a -1 starInterior of bar: 2 stars... Was not quite what we was thinking it was going to be... I guess the bars in Columbus Ohio spoiled us... they are very niceDrag Show: 5 Stars.. The drag shows would be the only reason we would ever revisit this bar.... they was greatSo if you want to see a great drag show then you should visit the Metro... Just be careful...

Such a cool and friendly place! I went during a slower part of the day and David, the bartender, introduced me to me to his group of regulars and made me feel right at home! I will definitely be back!

The employees were extremely rude and unprofessional. One made my friend feel very uncomfortable. Another one continually bothered us for no reason. Also, the whole place is just super dead. I think the employees just had nothing better to do, so they just decided to annoy the patrons.

Biggest disappointment of all time. First when we arrive...BAM!...Huge mud puddle to ruin my shoes. Second twenty dollars worth of a disaster. Thinking 20 dollars would be worth it...No... instead I got a sad batman and rocky from rocky horror picture show. We can say how gorgeous he wasnt. For a Saturday night after legalizing gay rights everywhere this was horrific. Thank you for destroying my look at the gay scene for jacksonville Florida. Good job!

I had soooo much fun. I am straight but enjoy having fun with everyone. An experience I will never forget. Next time Im in Jacksonville this is a must do again.

It is a great place to go with friends to drink, have fun and watch shows ( if it is a night they are doing them ). Not a big crowd when I went. I guess Saturday night is the best time to go.

Threatening patron had me scared to stay after two minutes on arrival. Threatened me saying he would crack a pool stick over my head drunk. I should have called the police. Outside is dark and often unpatrolled. Inside is bleak and rundown, smells like piss. Go to Incahoots, way cleaner and happier vibe.

I was a student at UNF and used to come here a lot in the weekends. The scene was great, very spacious, multiple bars, people r really friendly...if I could rate this place higher, I would....miss my hometown Jax...

Several different bars in one, each with its own atmosphere. A game room with several pool tables and space to play not dodging others. An established club of more than 20 years.

The place is too big so it never gives the impression of being full. Music is outdated, the dancers are skinny. Pros drinks are cheap. The place seams to host for an older crowd.

As the mom of a gay son, I enjoy the Metro. I can go with my son and watch the drag show and feel at home. I find everyone working there very friendly.

Typical Jacksonville gay bar. Boooring. Run down, poor service, average to below average bartenders, cover charge, frequently 5 to 10 people in the entire club. Do yourself a favor and just go to Orlando.

Metro was pretty cool. I had a fun night out with the girl. And the piano player that was there Friday is an awesome awesome guy. Will definitely come back

Cheapest drinks in town. Best bartenders in Jacksonville. Assortment of different bars with different vibes. Something for everyone.
