Chance did my massage. He was excellent! I had a pulled neck muscle he worked out. I felt like a relaxed noodle afterwards. He was very professional and caring to my needs and how it felt. Im sure I snoozed off a few times. Highly recommend him! Front desk was very nice also and clean relaxing atmosphere.

I have been a member of Massage Envy for 20 years. My membership started in Florida and then when I moved to Alabama I was thrilled to find a massage Envy in Mountain Brook. The staff has always been wonderful and especially so at the new location in Lane Park. Trina was my therapist for many years and sadly she has moved on. Yesterday I had an amazing massage by Meg. I arrived with a severe headache. I contemplated not even going but boy am I glad that I did. Meg was very knowledgeable regarding beaches and the related muscles and trigger points. She made several recommendations for at home care between appointments. She definitely has a healing touch and loves her profession. I booked myself weekly massages with her and highly recommend her to anyone with similar issues. Btw, I suffer from a very old whiplash injury that was not treated properly and causes me to have recurring issues. Bravo to Massage Envy management who obviously attracts very talented therapists.

I decided to treat myself on my birthday and get a massage. The process to sign up for a massage was super easy. I had the pleasure to have Thurston as my therapist. He asked me if I had any requests for work to be done in specific areas. He could also tell where you had the most stress located. You can tell, he knows his stuff. I could not ask for a better therapist. He was so sweet and knew what he was doing when giving a massage. I highly recommend booking with Thurston and going to this location.

Sparrow at the Mtn Brook location was AMAZING! She is so personable and easy to talk to. She made sure I was comfortable at all times throughout my massage. 10/10 for her. The front desk ladies were so sweet and helpful with any questions I had. I definitely recommend coming here.

Blocked me from all massage envy’s because I called them to cancel appointment & no one answered!

Brandon was my therapist for the evening and as always he asked me if I had any requests for work to be done in specific areas. I could not ask for a better therapist. I rate this location as one of the best I have ever been to. My wife and I always come together for our massages.Receptionist is wonderful she answered questions I have before our session and she got us scheduled for a couple of more appointments for later.Only issues I have at this location is the additional fees that the owner tacks on that are above our monthly payments.

Brandon was sooooo AMAZING!!! I usually go to Sarah who is SUPERB. I did question going over to Hand and Stone, however, due to the inability to book unless it’s months out. Also, the membership price at the Mountain Brook location increased- which doesn’t make sense when there are so few therapists to accommodate requested times. Fortunately, the front desk staff is great as well as the two therapists aforementioned.

I am a proud member! Last night I received a full body from Brandon at this location and he was GREAT. I highly recommend him. I have also received a few facials from Lauren and Whitney, which were both very knowledgeable and efficient. Thea, the store manager, is always helpful, polite, and professional.

My massage with Miguel. He was very friendly and asked me what my needs were. I always have a lot of knots in my back and he was able to work them out along with some other areas I was sore in because I’ve started working out. I left there feeling a thousand times better for my birthday weekend. I look forward to working with him again!! Highly recommended massage therapist!!

Whitney at the Mt. Brook location was wonderful! She did a great job on my facial and told me some helpful tips to maintain the effects of the facial for as long as possible. She also recommended a few products that I am really enjoying so far. 10/10 recommend a microdermabrasion facial with Whitney!

Had a pretty crummy couple of experiences. Wife gave me a gift card for my August birthday, so I booked an appt for 1 month or 2 out. Got a text the day before the appt saying the therapist had car trouble, my appt was canceled, next available is 2 months out. I book the appt for today (March 17), take a 1/2 day at work for this, and get to the appt 20 minutes early. 20 minutes after my appt was supposed to start, the therapist comes and tells me that because the receptionist forgot to give me my paperwork to fill out, we would be late starting and she could not stay for the full hour. She said my options were that I could either pay for an hour but only stay for ~30 minutes, or I could cancel. So I canceled. I had been there 40 minutes. Pretty frustrating.

Miguel was a great massage therapist! You can tell that he is very passionate about his job and very skilled and knowledgeable. Although Massage Envy had to interrupt my massage because the front desk employee was sick and had to close early, he handled it very well and finished my massage completely. I will choose massage envy (and Miguel) again in the future!

This was my first time with Aqua after for over a couple of years being with some one else and finding out they were gone; however, the wait was so worth it! Aqua was absolutely amazing and some of her techniques were not from her training but Her Gift of Touch! She has an awesome gift and I’m glad she is now my massage therapist!!🥰🥰

Started out great and the massage therapist here are fantastic. Once I signed up for the monthly membership, I quickly realized that you are not able to schedule appointments for weeks sometimes months in advance. After quite a while of this I finally booked an appointment, only to have it cancelled 2 hours before. Upon an absolutely horrible customer service experience with the manager there (Thea), I have not heard back from anyone at the location regarding rescheduling. But whats the point, could be weeks from now and may get cancelled last second!There are plenty of local massage therapist around the Birmingham area, a quick google search and you can find many.Cancellations and inability to book within the month time frame of the monthly membership are reoccurring themes in the reviews, scroll down for more.

DONT USE THIS LOCATION!!!Not the same place Ive enjoyed for 7+ years! The person I spoke with about a billing issue, Thea, was so rude. The week before I called to schedule an appointment and was told they had nothing open for 45+ days out! I already froze my membership due to having so many sessions banked (due to having a hard time even getting an appointment). Thea went on to make an excuse about the current employment condition nationwide, however I was able to call another local Massage Envy and get an appointment THE NEXT DAY! The MT. Brook location had 3 therapists quit lately, I can see why! Huge difference in the other location at Lee Branch and this one. In the process of getting my membership transferred to the Lee Branch location because this one no longer cares at all.

Cindy gets a 5 star rating for her skill at massage. I came in with a very painful back and she was able to smooth out the knots. She was responsive to my requests for more or less pressure.I have been a member at this branch for a couple of years. Recently there has been a price increase but yet they have this on going problem with making appointments and cancellations.This is supposed to be a monthly service yet they are unable to make monthly appointments.My last 2 massages were cancelled by my therapist. They were unable to reschedule my appt until weeks out.I waited over a month to get this last appt. and was encouraged to make several future appts so I could get my massages in. I currently have 8 services banked and yet I am still paying a monthly fee of $80. I am rethinking this whole idea.

Truly enjoyed my experience with Brandy. She was considerate, thorough and I felt truly relaxed and refreshed after my appointment. Definitely would recommed Massage Envy and their staff to everyone.

I absolutely loved my massage with Miguel. I had initial reservations at first since I usually have my massages done by a woman, however he was extremely professional, respectful and it was absolutely the best massage I’ve ever had!

Trina did an amazing job! She listened to me when I said I had some neck pain but also wanted to feel relaxed and she conquered both of my requests! If you ever need to just feel relaxed and maybe take a quick snooze, she is your go to gal!

Stephanie was my esthetician and was fantastic! My appointment was accidentally canceled but she was still able to see me right when I arrived. She is very friendly and helpful.

I got my first facial with Whitney yesterday and I loved every minute of it! She was so nice, personable and knowledgeable. I took her recommendation and will be seeing her again in a month for a microderm facial!!!

I’ve been seeing Cynthia for the last 3 or so months, for tightness in my lower back and she went to work on the afflicted area. Since then my back spams have reduced and my flexibility has increased. I would recommend Cynthia to anyone.Update 4/3: i had health issues and not able to see Cindy for 8 months, she remembered my previous issues and knew just how relieve my stress. Thank you Cindy.

The staff here was so very accommodating. Loved every second of my experience upon walking through the front door!!! If you’re new to Massage Envy, ask for Lexi- she will explain everything and answer any questions you might have.

Sarah always does an excellent job. My husband and I are not happy with Massage Envy because you will not let us move our membership from another location therefore having to pay $20 extra for a massage. Sad to say we are looking for alternative solution.

I was having pain in my neck and shoulder. Brenda did an amazing job of massaging the knots in my muscles. She gave me so much relief. Will definitely go back!

Ever since Covid, ME hasbecome one of the hardest places to schedule with. There are therapists in and out so no longer is there a such thing is scheduling with your preferred therapist. Its definitely get in where you fit in and thats usually up to a month out. Then, Ive been contacted days prior to those appts only to be told the therapist is no longer with the company and I should call to reschedule.... another month out. Not sure how long a company can last when they cant fulfill their end of the contract. Just trying to use the credits I have and end mine as Im seeing so many others are as well. My most recent massage was easily the worst Ive ever had as I sit here in pain still after asking the therapist to please ease his pressure. But Im sure going through so many new people, the quality of employee is no longer a determining factor...

Miguel is always so nice and accommodating. Checks to make sure I’m comfortable and so pleasant. Miguel is always willing to have conversations if I’m feeling talkative or sit in silence if I want to relax. Thank you!

I received a gift card for my birthday to get a massage in August in December I walked in to this location and booked an appointment for February 12th. When I walked in to get my massage the lady told me that my appointment was made and then canceled immediately after I booked it by the person at the front desk. It wouldn’t be too much of a problem but I live 2 hours away and drove all the way here for this. The next available massage is 3 months away im VERY unsatisfied and wouldn’t recommend them to anyone!!!

As always a great massage. I have found Cynthia to be friendly and professional and have returned many times. Just what I needed to work out the knots I sometimes didn’t even know I had.

My appointment starting 10 mins past appointment so no full hour massage 45 mins tops. I was just sitting in the tranquility room. Also the power went off the remaining time 10-15 of massage and I could hear everything going on outside. Finally the girl checking out couldn’t count my cash back to me. Probably won’t return.

My therapist was very kind, but I kept wondering if her hands were really as rough as they felt… Until halfway through the massage, I realized she was wearing gloves. I’ve had a lot of massages through the years, but this was the first with the therapist wearing gloves.Massage is all about “human touch”, and that just doesn’t happen with latex gloves on your therapist’s hands. I wish I’d been bold enough to ask her WHY ? Is she such a germaphobe that she thought that touching my body (which had just been showered before coming for the massage, as I figure most normal people do) would give her cooties? Or Covid or what? If she’s that paranoid, she really needs another job.When I checked out and told the upfront lady, who was very very kind and even apologetic for my less than stellar experience, I was told my therapist was “one of the few in-house who wore gloves.” Sorry, but not my style at all.

The therapist knew her job and ask me if there was any problem areas that I had. I will be going back. Lois was very professional and courteous for this being my first massage.

While we’ve had some issues with scheduling, my experience with Brandon was great. He always asks what I need worked on and follows through. I left feeling completely relaxed.

Constantly cancelling appointments, you’re lucky if they cancel before you spend the time, energy, and money to get up there for the appointment. And then you can’t rebook for 6+ weeks yet they continually charge you for credits that you can’t even use.Highly disappointed and would not recommend this place to anyone.

In response to the other Taylors review in this section. My wife had a 6 Month Membership at the Hoover Branch of Massage Envy and it was supposed to end in May. She had the membership cancelled in May to make sure. They have since charged her card 3 times. Once for June, July and now August. We have called numerous times...had countless notes put on her account to please quit charging and refund our money. No one can find the manager or knows where he is and everyone says there is nothing they can do to help us. Do not...I repeat do not go there for anything...its not worth the hassle and no existent customer service. The guy who owns the Mountain Brook Branch also owns the Hoover one.UPDATE: The manager contacted my wife today and said that they will be refunding the money this week. She said he was courteous and that they had a nice conversation. I will update if the money has been returned and this situation is resolved. I do wish this had happened sooner, but if all goes well...we can move on and harbor no ill will.

My girl Trina is the BEST masseuse ever. I had some stress an fatigue in my body cause Im in menopause she got me so relaxed. I cant miss my time with Trina. Being a nurse I need these massages BAD!!!!!!

Sara is amazing! She is always great at working on your trouble spots. She is very knowledgeable and has helped me post surgery.

Brandon was amazing! I went in with a great amount of muscle pain from working out. One I finished stretch therapy, I felt amazing!

Worst Management I have ever seen. I have now been trying to cancel my membership for 4 months and they continue to run my card each month. The guy who owns this one and the Hoover location could care less about customer service. Some masseuses are good but most are not. If you are lucky enough to get a good one only schedule with them but be prepared to schedule out a month in advance. I recommend you look elsewhere for massages.

It can be hit or miss here. I recommend once you find a masseuse you enjoy, stick with them. Otherwise its no telling what your experience might be. I had ones that seemed almost scared to touch me (hey, Im not great looking, but Im not known to make people sick to their stomachs) while others just didnt seem well trained. Also, its hard to get all the services they offer. For example, I requested the Deep Muscle Therapy when I was booked, but once I got there, it couldnt be accommodated as the masseuse was allergic to the product. I definitely dont want anyone to put their health at risk, but if you know he couldnt use the product why assign him to me? Otherwise I have very little issues with the company itself, more the management at times. Also, dont use their website to book at this location. You arent actually booking, you are just asking them to call you to schedule an appointment. Sometimes they call you back, sometimes they dont.

Horrible customer service! I attempted to book a couples massage in January, and was met with incompetence from staff and a birthday surprise ruined for my significant other because they called his number to confirm the massage after I specifically requested them not to. I am currently trying to end my membership and did not receive a response from my first cancellation email, and when I asked one one of the employees a question about cancelling my service, her response was that other customers figure it out, without explaining what was needed of me.

I agree with one of the previous comments in this section. It can be hit or miss. It is hard to get them on the phone. Hard to get the day and time that you are looking for. There were frequent cancellations until I found Gary. Gary is great! The last massage I had was at a Huntsville location. It was very disappointing it felt like someone just putting lotion all over me.

Worst customer service...i had an facial appointment with head, shoulder and hand massage but just received facial and hand massage. Did complain about this at front-desk they told me that manager will contact me but its been 12 days since then but no response from anybody. I tried to contact the manager but they keep telling that she is busy or not available and she will contact you back but still she haven’t called me back. I tried to contact her for 4 times in this 12 days. I don’t like to give such negative reviews But after all this i have to. I called 2 times today as well she was busy so they told me that she will get back to me then I called again and got to know she already left. Also the facial was not satisfactory. The blanket was smelly like it was not properly dried when washed. It has some weird smell. I would not recommend this place.

I would strongly discourage anyone from joining Massage Envy.I too was unable to cancel my membership for months. I filled the form to cancel, and once I followed up was told that it was sitting on the managers desk, and that he would contact me. I called the Hoover branch countless times only to be told that the manager would get to it. I asked every time to have him call me. I finally found a phone number for a National office and was able to leave a message. After this the manager called to apologize, and let me know my membership would be cancelled. For good measure he charge my card one more month! Hes is an impish little boy, with really bad hair!

Whitney always makes me feel like a million bucks! She has the most amazing touch and goes above and beyond for the customer.

I believe that session was the best ever! Sarah a true talent. So happy that I’ve joined Massage Envy, this is just as good as it gets.

SCAM ALERT - The people who work here are fantastic and very professional. Dont think for a second that just because you are in Mtn. Brook next to Whole Foods in the high rent district that you wont be ripped off. My issue is with the management and ownership not honoring services that have been prepaid for. I had prepaid massages that I only wanted to use, I did not ask for my money back. I called to try and work this out and they would not even meet me in the middle. They tried to sign me up again for another subscription, Seriously? So glad I didnt after reading the other reviews of how they went back scammed people a second time. They would have still made their fair profit on services rendered, but decided to just keep their ill-gotten gains hiding behind a misleading contract. Massage Envy has taken my money and given me zero services. They hide behind a contract you sign and say it was in the contract. I cant justify bringing an attorney along to read over a contract when I just want a massage. These agreements are made in bad faith and a total scam. I own my own small business would never take someones money and never deliver any product or service and then justify it by hiding behind a contract made in bad faith. I make mistakes too, but I always make it right when I do. I like being able to sleep at night. Common sense dictates that this is wrong and unconscionable to operate a legitimate business this way. Whats more is that those conducting these deceitful practices hide behind the good people who work there and make them do their dirty work of scamming customers. I feel sorry for them. I had a facial with Lauren which I throughly enjoyed. She always greet me with a pleasant smile and she is courteous, professional and I leave with my skin looking and feeling amazing.

Its just ok. Its hit or miss who you get. My massage was wonderful but the girl talked to me the whole time which defeats the purpose altogether. I didnt feel relaxed when I left because I couldnt concentrate from feeling pressured to answer her. I probably will be back but Im going to try other places first.

I give THIS Massage Envy a SIX star rating for their work, but today Corporate Massage Envy debited my bank account for almost $900 for 3 years in arrears on payments on a club account I cancelled. Apparently I did not sign an agreement to cancel. NOW they tell me! I am angry beyond WORDS!

Avoid Kennedy. I used to purchase gift certificates for my wife from this place, but no more. She was humiliated with the way Kennedy treated her. No one should be subjected to such an experience, much less pay to be insulted. If you get him, do yourself a favor and reschedule.

Made an appointment to surprise my wife but they assigned a masseuse that was unqualified for the type of massage indicated, thus the only solution given to us was to reschedule for 2 weeks later with the properly qualified masseuse. This took away the magic of the surprise and the poor service didnt help the situation.

I was trying to pay for two massages with gift cards. The cashier somehow charged $550 to the credit card even though I had the total cost in gift cards. Im still left with a $150 charge on my card that Ill have to dispute with visa.

Absolute terrible front desk service. I have tried to call and schedule an appointment several times, and they are always eager to get me off the phone, unhelpful, and at least twice asked to hang up in the middle and call me back, but never did. Also the request an appointment thing on their website appears to not work because they never emailed me back. I will be taking my business elsewhere.
