Massage Envy

The salespeople are incredibly pushy and use icky sales tactics to force rapport, it is the exact opposite of what I want to deal with before and after having a massage and only serves to significantly cheapen the experience. There is a focus on upselling, down to the fragrance in the room, and pushing their membership. My massage was good and if the massage therapist worked elsewhere I would return, but absolutely not here.

Booked a massage and facial yesterday for this weekend. They called today to confirm the facial and I asked about my massage. The agent transferred me over to a super rude manager who hung up on me twice when I was explaining the situation. I informed them I have a disability and needed to see if they could squeeze me in because I confirmed an appointment. The manager was very rude and refused to give me the opportunity to speak to someone higher. Would not be going to this facility .

First time getting a facial and was very pleased! I booked with Amy and she was phenomenal. HIGHLY recommend booking with her! Very kind and professional, will definitely be back because of her.

Terrible customer service, I could not book an appt online so I called and spoke to Mariah, she said she had tomorrow at 10am, so I said I wanted it. This massage is a gift and the person had already given his card info, she said she couldnt find it. I called him and he called and gave his information again, I called Mariah right back within minutes and she did not save the appt, and has nothing available. So rude! Ill go to my normal therapist, hes very professional and does a great job! I do not recommend!!!

They keep changing my appointment times without my authorization. I didnt say anything about it the first time but they did it again. When I speak to the person at the front desk, she doesnt know anything and the manager is not present to help her. The person who makes the schedule changes is not in the office, the manager may be there at night and she is trying to help without knowing what to do. Its ridiculous!

They scam you into signing up for the monthly fees. They cant keep employees so they have to cancel your appointment for lack of staff. You end up being a paid member on a wait list for eternity. The girls in the front are constantly gossiping about the office drama.

I really enjoy working with the staff at this Jacksonville location. They are very professional and great at what they do. I am super impressed with Gail!! She is a expert in her work and creates a excellent program to fit my fitness/stretching goals. Would definitely recommend her to anyone interested in going there, especially for sports/fitness goals.

I’ve been going here for 4 years and absolutely love it! I definitely enjoy options and as much as some of the people get scheduled out pretty far every so often, that can make it difficult to keep the same person unless you’re able to stay on top of your schedule and theirs. But to be honest, they’re nice, flexible and do the best they can to accommodate you or suggest what best fits for you. All in all, it is a great place to try out and figure if it is best for you and your schedule!

So I went a couple times! I really enjoyed the service! They were friendly and funny and did an amazing job! But unfortunately I ended up homeless and lost my job, I had no money and was seriously strugggling. When I called and asked if they would cancel my membership they said they wouldn’t because I hadn’t moved far enough…. But I was living in my car!!!! They told me I could freeze my account for a couple months but it would still charge me at the end of that. I told them I just couldn’t do that Anderson they said they would contact me later about it! They never reached out to me and I Even called multiple times within that freeze period, but they never answered and they never got back to me. I left emails and voice messages. In the end I was forced to cancel my debit card and get a new one. I’m absolutely disappointed at the lack of heart they had.

Good for massages in between spa trips. Leave the facials to spas though. I got a microderm infusion facial. My face was washed twice, the microderm wand ran over my face twice and then lotion to finish it up. They say facials are 1 hr long but I was in and out of the building in 45 min. Wont be getting another facial there.

Had my first experience yesterday at massage envy. It was a great experience! I booked online so I didnt know what to expect. When I arrived I was paired with an associate to discuss my preferences. Then it was time for my massage. I got lucky and booked with Gail! She was absolutely amazing!! I said I wanted firm to deep pressure. She was on point! She explained what she was about to do before she did it. She let me know where I had knots. She made me feel very comfortable. It was the best massage Ive had. My favorite part of all this was the heated massage table that was so nice. I will never get a massage without it again.After the massage I met with the same associate to discuss how it went. I didnt buy into the membership, I do think it is cost effective. I just cant afford it at this time. My only suggestion is that I wish they gave you a bottled water when you left. While you are there they do have small cups of water. This is fine for while you there bc you cant drink water during the massage but after it would be helpful. Especially for the price your paying they could handle giving you a bottle of water. Otherwise totally amazing! Def recommend it!

First time at this location! Highly recommend Vickie! I carry stress in my shoulders and have a bulging disk in my neck and she was absolutely stellar in ensuring pressure was at a comfortable level. I walked in with some pain and discomfort and left pain and discomfort free! Gals at the front desk are an absolute delight as well!! Thank you ladies!

I had a customized facial with Tamiya. She didn’t even introduce herself. She did not talk me through what she doing and did not tell me what she was applying on my face. The experience was good I would like to try someone else next time.

I previously worked at a different massage envy for 2 years. I am also a esthetician. While in Columbia we spoke about employment options for when I moved to Jacksonville. Now that I’m here. I’ve called the location multiple times. The front desk staff would not take my number informed me the manger can look it up in the system and she will call me back. Never received a call. Decided to go into the clinic in person to find out when was a good time to speak with the hiring manger. They said if I was willing to wait she’s in a meeting and will be with me after she’s done. Sat in the clinic for a hour for the front desk staff to tell me she will not be able to see me today. I asked if they knew a good time for me to come back and they informed me once again she will call me. I’ve still have not gotten a call back. If this location is not looking to hire anyone at the time I completely understand. I was not trying to be a burden or annoy anyone. The hiring process made me feel this way. Front desk staff was nice and clinic was very neat.

Joined massage envy after I was gifted a massage from a friend. Had two massages and everything was great. That is until I couldn’t make an appointment I had and CANCELED when they called to confirm appointment. I was going out of town and couldn’t make them. They charged me for both appointments on top of the monthly fee. I called to explain everything and was told that she couldn’t help me. She’d pass it on to the manager, but there’s probably nothing that could be done. I will make sure to tell everyone I know NOT to use massage envy. I deal with hundreds of people daily for work and I will spread the word. HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED with the customer service. Piss poor way to run a business. Update: Received a voicemail from someone that said the manager would refund both charges. Maybe the person who answers the phone could be a little more accommodating next time because she made it seem as if there was no way they’d give a refund. So now that the situation is resolved I’ll change the rating back based on the service prior and that was great. The massages I’ve had have been awesome. Thank you for the prompt resolution.

I wish I could give them a -5 stars. If you dont want a massage come here. I reserved a spot for a couples massage for my husband and I, our 10th wedding anniversary, and they cancelled it on us without even letting us know! We showed up when we were supposed to, since I called and reserved a spot, gave them my credit card information, and then they had the nerveto tell us we canceled it! Who cancels a massage?! And when I kept telling them I never canceled 5 times, I asked when was it canceled then and they said, oh well it was when we called to confirm your appointment and you did not answer so we canceled it. So yall canceled it, NOT ME! That is just wrong. Ugh, talk about a let down. We will NOT be back to this place, ever. And we have told everyone we know about what happened and they even said we made a mistake by trying to book a massage with them. Ive never had such bad customer service, ever. They blamed me for canceling an appointment that THEY canceled and then made me feel bad about it and didnt even offer me any kind of compensation or apology. If I were late or did not show Id still have to pay. I am actually glad it didnt work out now because I am sure it would have been as bad as the administrative department. Absolutely awful, awful place. Thank you for ruining my anniversary.

This evening I received a customized facial by Tamiya. Her knowledge blew me away and her technique was absolutely A1. I highly recommend her for all of your skin care needs. Her touch is so confident and reassuring that I was in great hands. Im so glad I was able to have he and Im so excited for our next session.

This place is an absolute sham. Fortunately the facials were amazing but the contracts are criminal!!! I paid monthly which was fabulous until I needed to cancel my membership. Of course the appt where the paperwork was to be signed was cancelled due to covid. When they opened back up they started charging my account and when I tried to cancel they kept charging. Credits racking up so when they finally cancelled my account my last appt was actually charged because they expired!! Unbelievable!! Criminal at best!! I do NOT recommend this money stealing business to anyone! Massage Envy should be ashamed of their lack of customer sevice.

I transferred my membership from AZ as soon as the Jville location opened. It definitely took a few weeks for them to get into the Massage Envy swing but they are knocking it out of the park. The staff that answers the phone and greets you and checks you out are wonderful and very knowledgeable. I have seen Christopher every time and he is great! He really understands when I tell him what is bothering me and works those areas very well. I usually go to him at least once a month and my back and shoulders have felt so much better!! I highly recommend both him and this location!!!

This is a great location! Everything was very clean and they maintain a relaxing environment. Vicky is absolutely incredible! She was able to put a lot of work into the areas that needed it and also make the massage relaxing and enjoyable.

The front desk was welcoming and even knew my name when I walked in. The masseuse was small but she gave a great deep tissue massage! She knew so much information to help my hips and back. The manager even made sure everything was good. All around great location to get a professional massage.

They got me into a massage therapy program where I can pay a certain amount a month and I get one free massage a month. I opted to pay while they were closed for Covid. I accrued about 3 and a 1/2 hours. 🙂 they have no limit on when I do it. I recently have been seeing Dominic, who is medium to heavy pressure. He is WONDERFUL. He takes his time with the whole massage and actually works on the areas you him to focus on. The staff is super friendly and all of them are professional.

I called to make an appointment and had some questions as well and the girl on the phone wasn’t all that friendly. I found it odd that their people are trained only in a specific type of massage. I’ve had a lot of professional massages before and all the massage therapists I’ve seen are trained in multiple types of massage. Then I was told I had to put a credit card on file and if I didn’t show up I would be charged for the entire service and if I didn’t cancel with 24 hour notice it would be a 50% charge. That’s odd and I’m not ok with it! I’ve never heard of having to do that for a massage...Hotel yeah but for a massage heck no! I’ll take my business somewhere else. That’s just a red flag for me!

Massage therapists are average at best. Your 60 minute massage is more like 45 hands on time since every therapist runs behind schedule (even though you’re asked to arrive 10 minutes early?!?) They make money by selling you products and services you don’t need. Once you become a member, cancelling this service is a pain in the butt - they do this so you will just stay with them rather than going through the whole process of cancelling. Once you cancel, you have 60 days to use remaining credits - even though they’re nearly completely booked and you cannot get any appointment at a reasonable time (because of COVID reduced hours) you’re still only given 60 days to use credits. There are better places (Hands on Health) in Jacksonville that I will be using in the future. Receptionist are perfectly nice people who are just doing a job. It’s the company that doesn’t provide a good service. They aren’t focused on customer satisfaction- just getting your money and churning out half baked massages.

Very relaxing, staff was very friendly as welcoming. I saw Sarah and she was amazing. She made sure I was comfortable and that I understood everything that was going on. Definitely will be back, along with buying a membership!

DO NOT BECOME A MEMBER HERE.1. They make it so hard for you to cancel membership.. its almost like you have to become disabled.2. The manager is either always on the phone & they cant talk to you or she is not there. I had to call their main office in Arizona for her to call me back.. which also took some time.3. I had 2 more massage credit.. to which I was told I had until the end of the month.. I called to set an appointment.. apparently it was expired over a week ago. Which leads me to number 4.4. The ladies at the front needs to pay attention more or something.5. The full body stretch.. forget it.. its like nothing happened.The one star is for Chris because he is good at his job. Other than that Id check out the other massage places.

I love it here. I can only go once a month but the message is awesome. I just had the hot stone massage and it was incredible. I am looking forward to having another session in the near future. Well worth the money to get a great message.

I had booked an appointment for June 17 at 2pm. When I arrived and called in as asked I was told that my appointment had been cancelled. Some stranger had called into massage envy cancelled my appointment and snatched it up. What kind of business doesn’t verify with the person who made the appointment. I will never go here again. They couldn’t even tell me the name of the person who cancelled my appointment.

Absolute AMAZING time. Noelle and Laura were fantastic. Great mood and atmosphere. Ashley explained our visit with exquisite detail and answered all of our questions. Everyone was extremely nice. I can never reach them by phone. They talked me into a year prepaid that I was really looking forward to. Now I cant get an appointment that works for me. I dont have my work schedule 3 to 4 weeks in advance like they now tell me they need to book a massage. I have wasted all this money and cant get a refund would NEVER recommend them.

Logan is fabulous, and so are some of the other therapists. it’s just too difficult to book a massage. Appointments have to made so far in advance making scheduling extremely hard. So paying for a monthly massage that I’m not getting monthly... 🙁

They didnt cancel when we submitted the paper and refused to refund. Didnt give us enough time with their availability to even book the credits we didnt want to buy & then refused to refund our help in any way shape or form. Manager was also rude.

Paid for 60 minute massage for my mother and sister.Jennifer was actually pretty good according to my sister. She targeted the areas my sister wanted targeted and also hit the rest of her body in a pretty balanced and unrushed manner. This review would have been 4 stars if it was just Jennifer.Now, moving on to Britney G., who was my mothers masseuse... she showed up 15 minutes late for my mother, massaged ONLY the areas my mom specified needed some concentration, and finished the massage 10 minutes early! My mother, being a sweetheart was to shy to say anything. And she had to wait til we got home to tell me because she knew I would have shared words with the staff becausw of this.Not sure if massage envy only massages the areas you specify but that to me is very weird. If my mother said to concentrate on her right hand, would Britney G have only massaged her right hand the entire time??I was looking to treat my mom and sister to something nice and relaxing for their last day here in Jacksonville but looks like Britney G butchered it for my mother. Not only was she 15 minutes late but the massage only lasted 35 minutes... not 60. She only massaged the areas needed concentration and that was it.I cant say I dont recommend the place over 1 crappy masseuse but I would ask for Jennifer or someone else.

My boyfriend scheduled an appointment for me to get a facial today. He has a plan where he can get massages/facials for around $60.00 a month. I went in for my appointment at 5:00pm. I had to wait almost 10-15 minutes before being helped. Then there must have been miscommunication on their end and they had the facial scheduled for him instead of myself. So I ended up having to fill out paperwork which took another 10 minutes. Mind you, my appointment is for 5:00pm. After filling out the paperwork and going back with the estechian at 5:30pm that had already cut 30 minutes into my time. The estechican and facial was great, except it was less than 30 minutes after having to get undressed which was another 5-10 minutes. All in all my facial was 15 minutes. To make matters worse, at the end I was charged $55.00!!!!!!!! for a freakin facial that wasn’t even an hour long. Not to mention I wasn’t suppose to pay for the facial because I was suppose to be using one of his services for the month. I called back after talking to my boyfriend and the receptionist says that he needs to speak with his manager and that they would call me back. I asked if there is a manager in and he says no. He then stated that he would have to find out if his manager would allow a refund. I’m pissed that I just spent $55.00 for a facial that was all of 15 mins AND that I wasn’t even suppose to pay FOR THEIR MISCOMMUNICATION. I will not be returning and hoping to get my money back!!

This place NEVER has appts for the days I need them. As a result I’m stuck with a membership that I can’t even use the benefits for. Absolutely insane, y’all should really stop signing people up for your memberships if you’re at capacity and can’t get people in accordingly. Really sad and it shows the company only cares about money upfront.

I went in for a chemical peel on March 22nd 2019 and I had Rebecca as my esthetician, she was amazing. She answered all of my ?s and made me feel comfortable.When I walked in I was greeted right away!! I will be returning no doubt. Thank you guys for making we feel welcome🥰

Dreama is AMAZING! I got a much needed deep tissue massage. Many therapists are reluctant to work deep enough to really be effective on my pain. She listened to me and constantly checked in with me to make sure I was ok with the pressure. It was wonderful! I highly recommend a membership for massage enthusiasts!

I scheduled an appt for a 60m facial, we started about 15m after our scheduled time and finished at 1150. I was pretty disappointed with the timing of the facial as it really only lasted about 30-35m, which made me feel a little robbed of the services. Hopefully next time will be a full hour.

Wish they were more flexible with auto payments. Shouldnt have to call corporate in order to stop them. Love the masseuses though. All are very professional.

The front desk associates are so kind, helpful, and good at their jobs. The therapist I had was also wonderful! I would recommend Massage Envy in Jacksonville to anybody!

Not all therapists are the same... so go see Annie (or Gail!) They’re amazing.Make sure to book about 3-4 weeks in advance.

Great place with a staff fully prepared for your service. I have been coming here for a long time and have had great service. They really try to cater to your needs. Price are really good to.

Husband and I had a couples massage I had Troy he was amazing I have a shoulder issue and he worked it perfect. He was kind and took his time.

I love this area and practice. They are kind and work with you and your schedule. It is a relaxing atmosphere and you never feel uncomfortable.

I went for my first ever massage today with a gift card I received. I enjoyed the massage.

Visiting from out of state and tried making an appointment. Was told I have to leave a credit card on file but I did not have one being I just brought cash with me. Was told they could not help me. I guess customers aint important to them.

Awful couples massage. The massage therapists were laughing and whispering to each other the entire time. Very unprofessional. I will never go back.

Got a couples massage with my boyfriend. The 2 who were giving the massage were giggling and whispering the entire time to each other. So uncomfortable and so unprofessional.

Can get in quick, cannot take your own oils in thats a bummer, but their prices are affordable.
