Such a great vibe, and diverse, nice music, of all type, and different artists performance, with great talents, of all kind. Nice drinks, food smells delicious, and look lovely. Although i havent tried any food as yet. Im always full when i get there, next time ill leave an empty appetite to try it out. I been there 4 times already, and its always awesome.
Bouncer said my friends fully real ID was FAKE. He said “Louisiana? Not real” then said it was fake. We even got it verified by a police officer and the bouncer said no. Sucks because I heard such great things!
Stop by for a show recently after having not been in a while and I had a great time. One thing that surprised me as I don’t remember food being on the menu, but to be fair, I mostly visited to get wasted but the food was better than I expected. The chicken sandwich when I tell you, it was delicious, it was delicious. Definitely something you should try!Oh and for the oldies, no open tabs anymore so be prepared to pay per drink.
I went on a Friday evening, got there around 7:30 in time to get some drinks before happy hour was over at 8, along with some tasty fries and a order of fully loaded nachos. It started to get crowded around 10pm when the upstairs opens up. I must say I loved the fact that the music along with people were diverse. A true NY Gem!
The wrap was very good. Its made with like a filo dough. Drinks are ok. Music was good. We went for HH but the Margarita machine was down the first hour..lol. all in all good.
I had a horrible time at this place. As a native New Yorker, I have obviously heard horror stories from Pianos, but... yeah this place is not great. I came here to listen to music-- the bouncers pushed me around, and told me that I looked like I took front shots from a girl who listens to Duster. I was deeply humiliated. The night was almost saved by a 10/10 dining experience, however. The french fries were divine! The music was great as well! They were playing my favorite genre, Rock and Roll. After stepping out for a moment, and trying to re-enter, I was told they dont serve my kind. The two men yelled expletives at me until I left. They called me slurs, pushed me around, and told me I had too much to drink. I couldnt really respond to the bouncers taunts, as I have intense social anxiety, but I dont even drink alcohol! As their hands struck my body, I could sense a great power within these men. I could feel their energy. A dark aura engulfed me. They did not care that I had already paid 15 dollars to watch the bands. It became clear; they are the taskmasters. Heed their orders. They wanted me to be their slave. Fulfill their every desire. I saw how one of them was looking at me--he was licking his lips. I was scared. As I gingerly walked away from them, I could feel their gaze still haunting me. I began sprinting. Eventually, I escaped their radius of terror. Upon reflection, I am thankful that I escaped Pianos with my life.
Extremely rude bouncers, long line for not much, ridiculous dress code and they charge men at their own discretion. Not going here again.
Always a great vibe! Have visited many years & still fun. Glad I was able to enjoy again while visiting NYC
Havent been to this place in years. The bouncers/doormen make it impossible to enjoy! One time I had 3 female friends come from Cali who were supposed to meet me here on a Thursday. They got they before me so I told them go ahead in. When I arrived the bouncer told me I couldnt get in without a female. So I told him I had 3 females from Cali inside. The other bouncer even remember carding them, so he knew I wasnt lying. Yet still wouldnt let me in. One of them even came down to get me, but the bouncer told us we would have to go to the back of the line and wait to get back in again. Smh Needless to say we contacted our friends inside and we all left and spent out money elsewhere.Another time I had a friend come over form London (England), celebrating her bday. She was dancing and stood on one of the little tables. They were signaling her to come down with flashlights, but she thought they were cheering her on. I get her attention and help get down and let her know she cant stand up there. 30 secs later the bouncer (who literally watched me get her down) grabs her and walks her all the way downstairs and kicks her out. She apologized and explained. He heard her accent and everything. Knew she wasnt from the country and didnt know the protocols, but was hellbent on throwing her out. All the doormen/bouncers ruined this place YEARS AGO (pre pandemic), and based on these comments Im reading, nothing has changed! DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME GOING HERE! Its NYC, there PLENTY of other better spots thatll treat you better.
Nice venue. Came for a freestyle Monday and got there early enough for a artist str8 from Japan named Simon. I had drinks and fries b4 the show. I had already eaten. I cant tell you how the food is. 2nd margarita did the trick. A few years back I had seen the California ensemble Moonchild here aswell.
Pianos used to be amazing, I just went this past Saturday to hopefully save my night after leaving a lame party. Hadnt been in a year so I was looking forward to the usual good vibes but didnt realize how much the place changed to now being such a generic type of club. Also apparently theres only a basement floor now that you have to pay 20 to get into and the usual top floor got removed?
The worst venue in New York City! I tried to reenter the premisis after smoking a cig but the bouncer told me I had to pay the fanum tax and he took my drink from me and drank half of it! Awful unprofessional demeanor from the staff!
Went during happy hour which ends at 7PM. The bouncer at the door was unnecessarily rude. We had a Margarita which was great, however also tried a Moscow mule which was terrible. I understand it is not a cocktail bar, but it was still $14 which is ridiculous! Other than that we enjoyed the music although it could’ve been turned down a little!
Speaking more from the bar scene: a really cozy, modern venue on the front end with a larger bar in the back (I did not go back). No cover. Theres was a random playlist playing with a variety 2010s to 2020s hip hop. We got there early and was able to secure some tables and chairs. The dj came later and transitioned more into house and dance. The drinks are strong; maybe too strong. The G&T was almost unable to be consumed.
Good vibes. Really cool people. Djs need to mix better but perfect for the crowd. Playing for everyone
Awful staff, watered down drinks, bad energy, terrible vibes, untrained amateur bouncers. Totally unprofessional, will never spend a dime there again. There are plenty of alternatives in NYC, don’t waste your time at Pianos
Fun place to vibe to the music! They were playing all the good classics upstairs, the downside is 10$ cover for upstairs but its pretty worth it!
Saw live music played downstairs then went upstairs to dance for a few hours on a Sunday night. The venue down stairs is small and will equipped for small shows. The DJ upstairs played an eclectic mix of older Hip Hop and new Latin music with a really random 90s boy band song thrown in occasionally that had a lot of us standing around looking at each other. The crowd upstairs was very diverse; there were people of every ethnicity all dancing together. That was probably highlight along with the drinks which were great.
Had a lot of fun here! The bottom floor is free but the top floor you have to pay $10 to get into. I loved the music. Downstairs was mostly hip hop. Upstairs was a mix of Latin and hip hop. Got a rum and coke for $14 but it was very weak the way the bartender made it downstairs. Upstairs i tried another and it was more to my liking. Id definitely go again.
This establishment is an absolute disgrace! Each visit has revealed a blatant discrimination policy: ejecting affluent gentlemen in favor of an exclusive preference for Caucasian females! The gatekeeping here reaches new heights of prejudice, with bouncers casting disdainful glances as if patrons were beneath them, singling me and my well-dressed companions out for rejection! Its clear theres a deep-seated aversion to wealthy, single men—those of us who have no trouble attracting companionship both inside this establishment and on the streets! Such blatant bias and objectification of women are appalling! My friends and I have resolved to boycott this place forever, and Im certain the women they so blatantly commodify will follow suit. Lets see how well they manage when the stream of sophisticated, affluent patrons dries up, leaving them to foot the bill for the very women they attempt to lure in. This place doesnt deserve our time, our money, or our presence!
This place was so incredibly lively and full on energy! We went to the Behaviorist EP release show and it was awesome. The live music area was a decent size and it fit an incredible amount of people. I was shocked that even though the place was hopping with people, there was no wait at the bathrooms and they were decently clean as well. The place was fun and the employees were upbeat and enjoying themselves as well. Overall a great place for a fun night and to see live music.
Gender neutral restroom why not but 3 restrooms for an all club that’s a problem !
Getting in was one of the worst experiences I’ve had at a bar. Clearly the bouncers are trying to start up a reason to kick you out. On top of that, despite their “best” efforts, the crowd is overwhelmingly straight and gross
Terrible check in service, i literally paid $124.11 for 7 shots, stepped out for a smoke break and the manager with braids said i couldn’t come in with slides. Before that i was let in already, paid my money, watched countless people go in violating their protocols and i was denied my access, i asked her what her name was and she refused to speak to me and i have several witnesses, also the security name was “J”/ “Jay” he wants to intervene when the manager speaks but then when i ask what your managers name is his response is that has nothing to do with me
Bouncers are terribly rude for no reason. I understand taking pepper spray/tasers/things like that, but no reason to be condescending and rude when young women have these items in nyc and are willingly giving them to you when entering a bar
Dope space for up and coming artist. Saw Hadji Gaviota there. Fuego. Bar is busy and the drinks is cool. Staff is nice as well, the lady that was checking the will call was dope and answered questions and her curly hair was cool.Honestly had a good time for the short time I was there. Even if you’re not seeing the a show they sometimes have DJ’s doing sets up there so it’s a nice spot if you feel like going to a party but don’t want to at the same time. And food in the area is good as well.
The security guy at the door does not let you in and gives you no apparent reason other than no guys. But he ask you for money to let you in. Overall is a great place for drinks and to have a fun time. Been going there for over five years but these guys are messing it up and i think management needs to do something about it. If you want to charge to get in just have a cover for everybody. I told the security guy that i will make sure that he stop this bs at the door. This is the first step. And if you are reading this, just watch what’s coming next. People just want to go in have a drink and nice conversation, not everybody wants to go upstairs which you guys have a cover for it. Guys buy drinks too.
First club in NYC Ive actually liked. Best music selection. Turn up time all the wayyyy
Super cool hole in the wall, great setting and awesome place to chill, have a drink and listen to music
I sat at the bar just for drinks! it’s a nice place, wanna go again for their live jazz performances. When I was there, it was live country music just a bit too loud, was hard to hear each other.
This place is always a good time. I usually always go upstairs to dance. There is a well mixed crowd (age, race, etc.) but we vibe well together. When folks visit town, I always bring them here for a night out.Security can sometimes be a hassle or a little rude, especially on the weekends so prepare for that. The later it gets, there is usually a line to get to the second-floor dance area and they will make you wait each time if you come down. Plan to arrive with your group at once or just wait for your friends upstairs!Drinks are usually pretty strong but definitely no frills. There will typically be a cover charge after 10 or 11.
Great place to hang out with friends. This place is divided by rooms, so each room has its own music such as hip hop, country music, etc. I am pretty sure you won’t be bored. Enjoy!
Total waste of time and money. Bouncers are overly aggressive and extremely rude. Will take your money and deny service outright. Preferential treatment is given to others for image. If youre not a gorgeous woman coming alone literally dont bother. Possibly the worst place Ive experienced in recent memory. The staff needs to be more respectful, this is a hippie bar not a government secret access area.
Pianos used to be a great spot for drinks and dancing. Now they try to rebrand themselves as an elite NYC club that only let a very specific look of women in the bar. Then if you’re lucky enough to meet the look requirements to get in, you are then hassled with a $20 or $30 fee per person just to get in. My girlfriend and I waited on line for 15 minutes. During this time I seen a countless amount of men and women get turned away because they didn’t meet the “specific look”. Once we got in, drinks were watered down, food was nasty, and the lively energy that made Pianos a good bar 2 years ago was no longer there. Will not be coming back here again.
Had to line up for no reason. When you enter, it is bright as day. Music too old, drinks were regular. Staff just staring at you making you uncomfortable. Couldn’t wait to get out
I am a 53 asian american that was physically ASSAULTED HERE on my birthday by agressive bouncers who were twice my size. As I was leaving Pianos, I went out near the front of the line to retrieving something of mine and minding my own business when I was first held and pulled by my ankle. The male bouncer then CHOKED ME. he grabbed my neck and attempted to pushed me down. My friend tried to record this (shes a vlogger), and the female bouncer prevented her from recording, broke her phone, and took it. Here is audio/footage of it all happening
The bouncers are honestly ridiculous. Aggressive, incredibly rude, and unprofessional (not to mention corrupt/shady). If youre willing to pay the huge cover as a guy, youll walk in and not be able to hear your own voice/have a conversation because the music is so insanely loud. Zero desire to ever go back to this place ha
Strong drinks, good prices, solid vibe all night.
I came here with my friends from town on a Thursday night. The atmosphere was great for a Thursday. A nice young 20s crowd was here. The music was pop and hip hop and there are two Djs, one on the 2nd floor and one on ground level. Overall a great night. Would recommend for college age crowd.
Great bar with multiple spaces. Went on a Sunday and the upstairs dj was great. Not crowded but great vibes from the other patrons.
I used to come to Pianos at least once or twice a month (usually Thursdays or Saturdays) & have such a great time. The ambiance, the music (Taela Naomi on Thursdays was the BEST) & the overall vibe was very different than other locations in NYC. Last week I came to Pianos with my best friend from New Mexico. I havent been to Pianos in about 8 months because I moved to a different state. I was looking forward to a great night out and showed up on a Thursday night around 9:30pm. There were 2 gentlemen at the door & before I was able to take out my ID we were stopped. One of the guys said, We cant let you in. If you come back with some girls we can let you in. I couldnt stop laughing at the ludicrous nature of that statement. Why in the hell do I need to find women for your establishment? Pianos isnt on the level of the 40/40 club or 250 5th Ave, or even the Empire Hotel so I dont know why Im being talked to in this manner. I found it unprofessional, unacceptable, & reprehensible that I spent so much money in that establishment over the years and I was literally denied entry because we werent cool enough to HELP their establishment up their quota of women for the evening. I AM ENGAGED & I dont go to Pianos to meet women. I go for music, drinks, food, & the ambiance. Its a shame that this place has fallen the way it has. Ill never waste my time coming to Pianos again. The discrimination was just pitiful & disgraceful.
They were charging $20 to get in, by the time we made it to the door (10 minutes later) an arrogant lady inside said Nope now its $30 doesnt matter what the bouncers outside said this is how it goes. Prices change. If it wasnt for a birthday we were celebrating I would have left. $20 drinks & a tight small crowded spot totally not worth coming back for.
Always enjoy places in nyc that are diverse.Have been here in a few years and had a great night. And no cover charge.Went on a Sat night. Not sure if they serve food.Usually just there to drink & dance
Pianos is cool, had a couple incidents here that were unfortunate but management is pretty quick to decide whether to help you or not. Vibe is pretty good and the people are okay, it gets packed sometimes though. Still don’t understand how it’s called “Pianos” but they ain’t got a piano in sight tho 😂
Bustling cocktail, live music, and DJ R&B bar with an awesome collection of people that come together for a rowdy night. Key is to go early around 9 when the upstairs first opens so you don’t have to wait on nearly an hour/two long line. $15 a cocktail. 5/5 stars as a night spot.
Absolute embarrassment of an establishment. We waited, paid and got in to the front. Upon entering, apparently we held the door a second too long, and we were hit with excessive force and told they were getting noise complaints. Instead of explaining this, the door person said “ I don’t have to let you in”. The lady at the door proceeded to lie and say we were disrespectful - as we got hit in the arm and told to shut the door. Charges for assault are not out of question. Rude management, with rude bouncers all around. Don’t come here for a good time.
Was here to see my nephews band, Vesiath perform. The venue was pretty cool.
I have heard about Pianos for a while but never made it in. It was on the earlier side of a Saturday night the brunch crowd was out I would think. I loved the music first off. The DJ was absolutely amazing playing some oldies and deep house a bit. It was a good crowd inside I am thinking this was the after brunch spot. They have food but like small bites not a huge menu. They have a back dance floor that was not open so we where only in the front bar area but still a good vibe. They do not keep tabs open so that is good to know if you are going cash it prob best and quickest rather than 5 swipes over the night. I will def be going back it was HH too which is nice to have on a Saturday. I am looking forward to going back with a group of friends for a post brunch bop. Staff really nice too! Even non bartenders where pretty chill I had my jacket somewhere I should not have prob and I notice the kitchen person trying to not mess with it even though it was in his way and when I grab it he was really chill and nice about it. Made me appreciate the place even more.
I had a very weird experience here, but maybe Im not familiar with tip culture anymore. I got two drinks from the bar upstairs and gave the guy a tip. Normally, I tip at the end of the night but start off with an initial tip. I went for another round of drinks and didnt tip that time, the bartender looked into my eyes and asked No tip? I said No. He then proceeded to cancel my card transaction and said no more drinks for you. This is a very weird way to go about things, especially when its supposed to be a fun and friendly environment. I decided to go to another bar nearby and spent the rest of the night there. I will definitely never go back there again.
The music here is great but the drinks are overpriced and the crowd is a bit young. If youre looking to dance the night away with college freshman this is the place to be on a Friday night! If you prefer a more mature crowd and quality cocktails look elsewhere. I ordered an old fashioned and it was served in a plastic cup and they used cheap bourbon.
Doing a review from when I went back in Dec 2019. It’s not fancy, you could definitely not worry about dressing up or wearing heels. Area is small overall, 2 floors but the upstairs is where the vibe is at. Place is a nice kickback, went around 10pm. I can see this more of a fun atmosphere, easily reminds me back in my college days. Music was great for dancing! Oh so much fun! Drinks aren’t great but definitely would go back for the vibe/fun.
Went here to see some live indie bands, I was definitely not disappointed. Didn’t spend much time at the bar, but the show was very good. Not a huge room, but good for new bands looking to get discovered.
I would highly recommend coming here to have a good time with lively music that just makes you wanna dance. I like coming before it gets too packed, which is around 11 PM in my experience.
We had a group of only people of color and they refused to let us in for no reason. we asked if we were too drunk and they said no. they said we were under age and we are all collectively 26 and over. as i was writing this they hit my friend because they were threatened
Pianos gets one star for inexplicably rude treatment of potential customers and poor communication. On the first and, thus far, only evening of my life in that part of New York, I twice waited in line to see this much discussed venue only to be unceremoniously dumped out of the queue on the verge of entry. No explanation was offered on either occasion. Four other guys in front of me suffered the same fate during the first attempt. None of the guys in the line were causing any trouble. A few of the guys were dressed down, and I had dressed on the preppy side that night. If it wasnt behavior or dress, I thought that gender ratio might have something to do with the rejection. On the second attempt, one other guy and I entered the queue with groups of females both in front of and behind us. The same irritating result occurred. The two guys were sent packing. If they are not going to let guys into the place for a time, the staff should communicate that point, not make potential customers wait for 15-30 minutes just to be ejected. The staff did not have a problem walking the line to notify people about the higher cover charge that night. They can do the same if some other screening criterion is in effect. Pianios = Rudeness and poor business practices
I just posted this review to say that the name of this company is not especially informative. Pianos? What type? What price? WHO MADE THEM? Adjectives were invented for a reason. Otherwise satisfactory, no complaints
Been going here for a couple months, this definitely isn’t a upscale club where you need to dress fancy. But I think it makes it more authentic. I prefer this more than bigger places in midtown that will make you pay 550 for a bottle. There is a general rule that you bring a girl when entering (to keep the ratio) but other than that if ur chill, and like dope music then there’s this is definitely a good place to go
0 stars. We had a group of 8 girls go in infront of us. Me and one other male friend went to come in (to meet our group of friends who were inside) and the bouncer literally said “we’re not letting single guys in side, come off the line”. Very rude and disrespectful.
Honestly seemed super shady to me. The bouncers were adamant about people staying in line unless they paid them off. They charged a $40 cover charge for guys (which of course was not disclosed at any point while waiting in the hour-long line). The music was good and the drinks were strong, but I have no interest in supporting the business. Do not recommend.
Bouncers literally thought my ID was fake. I’m 23 years old. They threatened to take my REAL ID away from me. Maybe train your staff to do their job better. 0/10 don’t recommend.Ended up going to mr. Purple— great vibe and nice service.
Nice music, the dj was playing commercial songs then people were singing and dancing, had a good time but nothing out of the norm.
Love it. Honestly it’s a great place to go with friends. Make sure you get in before 10pm. They start asking you to bring a girl after and ask for a $20 charge. But apart from that it really is great, upstairs is where the party is at 🥳🥳🥳
A friend of mine was kicked out of the bar for being the only man there wearing makeup. there for a couple minutes and had already paid the $20 cover that was NOT refunded for the short amount of time spent there, and kicked out for simply BEING HIMSELF. please do NOT go here if you’re POC/LGBTQ+ or consider yourself an ally. i don’t want anyone to have the same experience and i sure as hell don’t want anyone supporting a business who treats paying customers that way for simply BEING THEMSELVES.
I love pianos, upstairs is the best part in my opinion. BUT today I took some friends there pretty early in the evening and discovered that they serve food and its actually pretty good. I got the seasoned fries for only $5 and they were bussin we also got the nachos which tasted good but the cheese wasnt melted all the way. My coconut frozen margarita was also very good. This is my go to spot when I dont know where to go on a night out because the Dj is always good. They play a mix of hip-hop, reggae, pop, classic hits. Everyone is usually dancing and has high energy.First floor bar area is better for talking and the stage area in the back is also cool but the best spot is upstairs which they dont open until about 10pm.The line to get inside gets crazy these days because of all the NYC transplants but still a great spot nonetheless.(Attached picture was taken in one of the bathrooms, which are gender neutral)random fact: the bathrooms are labeled WC for water closet
I went here for a cool party and found out the manager of this spot is extremely rude and obnoxious..How can people keep coming back here if they treat people with such disrespect.Security was good no qualms there. The hip bartender was totally rude and ignoring the crowd that wanted to get drinks. He must be related to the owner..How this place stayed open for so long puts me in disbelief
I went there during a DJ set for my first time recently (even though I hear theyre more known for their live shows), and it was great. The music wasnt super interesting as they played hits covering 2007-2018, but everyone was dancing and the crowd was great in general. It was only $8 to go upstairs, downstairs is free. Note that if you bring a coat ($3) and/or a bag ($5), youll have to check both. The mixed drinks are overpriced and not that great, beers were fairly priced (I wasnt going here for the drinks, though). Heard the food was pretty solid.
Was not allowed in unless I brought a female friend. See the other reviews saying the same thing. I was literally asked if I had a female friend to bring. Once I said no, denied entry. There are so many cool bars/restaurants in LES, definitely skip this disgusting place.
The music can be a hit or miss, really good or just very iffy both up and downstairs. I love their margs & frozen marg though. Good drinks in general. Nice, dim lighting. Easy on the eyes.Just be warned that the men here can really be persistent & harassing. It’s the worst part every single time. It’s difficult to just have a good time with friends because they keep getting behind you, grabbing you, getting between you & pulling you away. It’s very constant, and interrupting because you have to be constantly vigilant of getting away from them.I have never experienced that at other places where 90% of dudes ASK, or can take a hint of you moving your behind AWAY from them. Here they just keep trying to press or squeeze in behind you, it’s ridiculous.Bartenders, security bag/id check, and coat check employees are always great. Tons of good Dj’s come around as well.
Group of two guys in front of us, same attire enter no problem. Door guys stop me and says we need to have a female in our group to enter. Then they whisper to me to walk around the side to bribe them for entry. Absolute scam, avoid this place and spend your money somewhere else.
The bouncers gotta be racist because they took me and my black friend’s ID thinking it was fake even tho we’re 24!!! They think no people of color can be from Tennessee, sounds racist to me. I thought this place would be cool cause I heard it in a childish gambino song but I was so wrong
Great time with my colleagues. Good drinks, and they didnt trip when my friend came in with her service dog!
I had a lot of fun here. Out of towners are welcomed and you will hear a lot of different music on the floors. Ive never seen so many different backgrounds and cultures all in 1 spot... make sure you have 5$ for a coat check fee and dancing shoes. Heels are not needed at this spot. Hold on to your dress, it will be a fun ride💃
Gender discrimination - We were told we had to have a woman with us to enter. Mind you, this is a bar, not a club. I used to go to Pianos and never had this problem. I dont know whats happening but this is weird, especially in an area like the Lower East Side. Do better Pianos.
Tried to go Saturday night with a few friends 3 guys 2 girls, the bouncer and a girl at the door were extremely rude, they wouldn’t let my friend in because they were “too many guys” so we just left. Although I have been before, it’s a really fun spot. Great place for drinks and to hang out, better on a slower night tho. If it’s packed it’s just not worth the hassle of standing in line just to be denied entrance if you’re one male too many...
$14 for the weakest vodka tonic I’ve ever had…$14 for well drinks? Come on. Older bartender was rude as hell - got my attention with a gruff “Here you go lady!” Sound system was abysmal - I only came to support a friend’s show. The only saving grace is how cute and kitschy the spot is. I have 0 reason to return unless another friend plays a gig.
Cool vibe on a Sunday evening, funky music; great crowd. Love that it’s got different rooms depending on your mood.A cool bar display with all the different drinks on offer. The security were super friendly and always good to get there a little earlier when the queue isn’t around the block. As an Aussie woman; I would definitely rate this bar a must on a Sunday
Music is amazing! They have three “rooms”. There is a main bar area, upstairs, and a room back. I went there afterA day party so I didn’t have drinks but my friend that did said the drinks were priced well and said they were good. The music was a variety of trap, drill, and Afro beats. They even played Atlanta bass music in the back room. The crowd is a good reflection of nyc. There were people that “looked” ethnically white, Asian, Latinx and Black. I would definitely come again.
*Bar/club review - You gotta get here before 10 if u wanna get in, but even with ridiculous lines, I was left wondering what all the hype was about. 70/30 male female split on my night out.
My friend took me here last night and I absolutely love this place! Its a gem! There was a wait to get in but it was worth every second of the cold. Great music, great drinks, helpful staff. Go here for a guaranteed good time. Definitely coming back here on my birthday.
I have been going here for years and its just one of those NY spots that just does not change. Needs an interior update - a freshen up but one could argue that it has aged well over the years.Always fun, especially as a last stop.
This spot is not for people that over 30years old, who is looking to actually sit and lounge on a friday/Saturday night.. Its small with 2 floors. It is more for the younger crowd. Music played differently on each floors. I must say the drinks are pretty good. Strong!
Got in no problem, place was not crowded. Upstairs was virtually empty on a Sunday night, so we sat by the bar. The bartender was nice to take some photos of us, however, it was 1:25am and there were no snack foods to munch on. We were told there were chips and dip, but they were out. Wouldve been nice to have something to eat while drinking.
This place is trash. We were literally screamed at in the line of the bathroom or finish in 30 seconds. I was with a group of guys and girls and we felt beyond disrespected and bullied. Like this is the bathroom line, not a cattle line. My friends and I had no chance to even get relief. NOT worth the $20 cover.
One of the worst places to go. They deny you entry for no reason even when you look better than half of the people already inside. The Bouncers are also rude, aggressive and highly disrespectful. Total waste of time.
This place is great. 3 rooms and often different music in each one. I have been going for 10+ years. The staff are cool when you get to know them. It’s unique and overall a great, lively hangout spot on a weeknight. It’s too packed on a fri or sat imo.
The place sucks! You ether have to know the guy with the tattoos in the face. Bring a girl with you or give him a hand shake with money to get in. He says oh there are more man than woman so youll have to wait. You might as well not go there. Also the crowd that goes there is so classless, you can tell by the way they behave when you see them coming out. Not worth it at all, if they have dumb people as their customers. Try other places!
Worst experience, employee was horrible, Ill try to find a way to report it so it does not happen to anybody else. So many great places in the area, avoid this one
We called before we came and the person in the phone said there was no cover charge but a tab was required to get in which was fine but when we got there the guy at the door said we would need to have a female with us to get in. He said he would help us out if we gave him $40 And he would let us in. What a scam. We walked away. Don’t waste your time here.
To thumbs Way up!!! Place was definitely popping..Located on the lower east side opened late. A bit pricey but DJ spinned some nice cuts of Hip hop and a little Jamaican flavor.
So many memorable nights here. Never know which band you’ll end up seeing. Always a great crowd and the best bartenders .
Super fun place.. there’s always a bit of a line but never takes too long to get in. It can get really crowded so def not a chill night out, but great dance spot. Only complaint is that it’s so hard to get in contact with them. I’ve emailed, called, dm’ed/commented on Instagram and no one has responded in over a week! I’m just trying to find out if they have a lost and found as I left two important items there but I don’t live close enough to stop by
So much fun. Had drinks before dinner at a nearby high end restaurant. DJ played terrific dance music and the patrons loved dancing along - energetic vibe. Brand in the back room but DJ music in the front was fun. Would def go back next time in neighborhood.
My issue w this security guard is he’s not consistent with his words. He told me that I can’t come in without girls but he’s letting other groups in without girls like at least be consistent with your words. I literally saw him let a lot of guys in without girls in. Like how ? They come in groups pull him to the side and walk straight in like he did that in front of me since 1 a.m to 2a.m. Is hard to understand that 🤷🏾♂️
The surrounding neighborhood gets pretty wild after dark. Nonetheless though when you get into pianos its pretty worth it. Music is 🔥, the woman beautiful, and the drinks good. Cover charge when you get in and you either party upstairs or downstairs. Just please behave and dont start no trouble there so everyone can have a good time as everyone should lol. Looking for a fun night? Pianos is the spot.
This bar used to be great, but recently it has become one of the worst bars in the LES. The security guards act like it’s an exclusive club and let their friends in and take bribes to let people skip the lines. It has been one of the most disrespectful establishments I’ve ever been to. In particular, I had an experience with a terrible female security guard tonight (tall black female), we were waiting for 20 minutes in the line in the pouring rain and she kept letting her friends in in front of us. Then when we were finally towards the front of the line, she told me and some people in front of me to “get off the line because we’re annoying.” I was so baffled by this unprofessional remark, I asked her I’m sorry what are you talking about? We’ve just been standing here patiently in line. She responded that we were “pushing” mind you there were several people behind us that kept pushing up closer to the front and I tried to explain that to her but she completely ignored me and continued to be rude and extremely disrespectful. I will be calling this establishment every day to file a formal complaint about her until she gets fired, because the manner in which she treated me and the people in front of me who were just patiently waiting was extremely disrespectful. Don’t bother going to this place unless you want to wait on line for 30 minutes for basic music and overpriced drinks.
If you’re looking for a guaranteed good time where you don’t have to dress up… it’s the spot that doesn’t miss. It has two levels which breaks up into about 3 rooms. Two bars on the first floor in separate rooms and one bar upstairs.I alway go upstairs but there’s always a line to go upstairs. It’s always packed and hot. Prepare to sweat it doesn’t matter if it’s winter it be hottttt…..but lit!Ya welcome 💖
Had a great time for my first time going there but it seems they put the good DJ up front and the bad one in the back to even out the crowds. He kept switching between genre and time zones which is fine as long as you do it right. Also they would let the whole song play out as if they didn’t have enough to run the night or was just lazy to do a better job. This was my first time so I’ll leave it at 4 stars. Hopefully my next experience will be much better or I’ll be handing the DJ my flash drive LOL😭
Careful ladies - if you’re assaulted outside this bar and visibly upset, the bouncer won’t let you in! In fact, he’ll tell you to “get your emotions under control” and that it’s “not a good look.” My sister in law was already having an obviously terrible night and her treatment here was insensitive and rude. Just beyond the pale to not have compassion for a woman in distress who is attempting to patronize your business.
Great burger and fries! The chicken and fries were awesome too. The atmosphere is causal with a modern flare. I accidentally split the last 2 drinks of my beer, I was so looking forward those last drinks, then went to the bathroom and came back to an beer with just that had 2 drinks in it. Awesome service!!!
The happy hour prices were great, but I knew it was too good to be true. The house liquors tasted so bad, and I had a pounding headache after drinking only 2 drinks there.
Def an iconic bar and i rlly like the music venue spaceI dont love how expensive the drinks are in the main section of the bar and when i was in the 1st floor music space the bartender guy in that room kept giving different people different prices on drinks depending on how they looked which wasnt cute lolIve been here twice and sometimes the staff is super friendly and amazing and sometimes theyre cold and disinterested. So it goes
It’s ok. Can be lit depending on the DJs. Small space and gets hot. Coat check before waiting in line to go up otherwise will have to go back down and get on line again
Definitely more of a place for drunk college kids. Two female friends I was with walked right in. I was stopped and told that I’d have to pay $20. None of the other bars in the area seemed to be charging cover, so we left.
Good shows in the back. Terrible music at the entrance and usually hip hop upstairs. Upstairs is usually over packed and smelly but you rather be there than downstairs. The Asian bartender with red hair is honestly the only reason to come here. Hes amazing with service. No hats allowed and if youre a single male forget about it.
I couldn’t come in with a backpack. That’s fine because I can check it. Then 3 people walk in with a bag. Um ok. Bouncer says in the rudest possible manner “Um sir YOURE GOING TO HAVE TO WAIT FOR IT”. 20 minutes go by. I’m standing there and pulling friends out, “Oh do you have friends in there” yes I was with them.Don’t go here, it’s ridiculous.
Horrible! The club is completely overrated and the doormen are always giving folks a hard time unless you grease their pockets. Plenty of other places within the area to have a good time.
Apparently you need a girl with you Anyday of the week and if you don’t you will be charged 40 dollars. Being charged 40 dollars on a Wednesday for a bar is crazy. They treating it like a nightclub even on calm days. This place is trash
Went here last weekend, headed upstairs to the dance spot and it was 🔥. People having a good time dancing and there was a decent music selection. Played a good deal of contemporary hits but also had a good balance of late 90s early-late 00s hits. Definitely gonna go back in the near future.
Absolutely disgusting. Came here last weekend and my bag with all my belongings was stolen. When I asked to go back upstairs to look for it, I was denied. (Almost like they didn’t want me to find it). Save yourself the stress and avoid this wasteland of an establishment.
Review on the nightlife from a resident DJ at Pianos. Pianos truly is a staple of New York. If you want to hear some of the best DJs spinning pop, RNB, trap, rap, reggaeton, afrobeats, and drill, this is the spot. With three different rooms to choose from, you’re bound to find a DJ that suits your mood. Tips:*Yes Pianos cares about gender ratio so that your night is better. If things went unchecked you’d be faced with one of the biggest sausages fests in NYC. That means don’t expect to pull up with 4 other dudes and get in. Girls will have an easier time getting in.*Come early in the night or else you will absolutely have to wait on the line*Be kind to the bouncers and staff. They oversee the safety of hundreds/thousands of people and a lot of them work there quite often. Give respect get respect*I recommend the frozen margaritas…strawberry or mango in particular*If any person does anything inappropriate let a bartender or one of the girls at the door know.*Have fun!
I went recently, and honestly it’s not as fun as it used to be. It’s way too packed now and they just play decent mainstream music instead of having awesome live bands like they used to.
Great musical acts fill each night. Unfortunately the upstairs showroom has no filter from the bar 5 feet away plus the downstairs noise/music can be heard upstairs. If you are going to the main showroom then it is run well with good sound and a small bar. Restrooms are generally clean. Have not had food there but it does smell good when it comes out.
Been here twice now. First time was really fun. Was able to go to the dance floor in the back. Second time going they had a $10 concert in the back so it was locked down and it was $5 to go upstairs and dance. They make you check your stuff to go upstairs. Music is hit or miss depending on the night.
As the other reviews state- bouncers are on a huge power trip here and are looking to fight (even women). I stepped out to smoke and was told I could not go back in. When I told them my bag and coat was inside, they completely ignored me. There is no reasoning. I kept insisting, then a bouncer (tall heavy black dude ) grabbed my by both of my arms to almost drag me outside of the line. I was so shaken up to have been physically grabbed by a man almost four times my size. Completely ridiculous to be manhandled by an another adult.
Someone stole my purse such had my phone on it. I was able to track my phone was still inside. The guards and manager refused to let me in claiming that theyve looked everywhere and cant find it until a man pleaded with them to let me in. Took me two minutes to find it during next to a bar tender with some of my things missing. If I were to me let in an hour before Im pretty sure I would have found all my stuff
I really really like this place. I often go on weekdays cause there is no line, but still enough people inside. Upstairs its always fun and everyone has genuinely good time. Im surprised that everytime I go there (even Wednesdays) the people are always in a party mode and even if you are not feeling the same, it will eventually make you wanna dance too in the end...
Visiting New York for the first time. Stumbled on this Bar on a Wednesday night. Good drinks. Upstairs is where the party is. Good hip hop musicFrom current to early 00s with a sprinkle of 00s Rnb.
Really fun, but a lot of caveats. The place is actually pretty popular despite its relatively dilapidated appearance - it was maybe something else before being what it is now, so this is cool to people that want to drink. What this means is that lines are long for everything, and everything is priced appropriately (not so expensive, but certainly not even close to dive prices). The place is spacious, but again, it gets packed - sometimes to the point, it can be tough to move. A highlight, even for someone who doesnt like to dance, is an upstairs dance floor, small enough so you can edge around it with your drink, but large enough to cause some serious dancing (like dance-off style grinding moves, or whatever the kids do these days). The bathrooms are clean enough but the line makes it not worth it. Overall, a fun spot, very lively, nice enough area, even a bit later at night, and easy access to transport, taxis, subway, etc.
Extremely aggressive bouncers. This guy with tattoos on his face pushed me and my friends when we were out of line on the public sidewalk. I am legitimately considering pressing charges and have started talking with the police. I do hope that the owners see this and consider hiring professionals
Great music, but the set up of the space is too small for the amount of people that show up.I perform Go-Go dancing at this venue. Its fun, but no one really tips. Its a very cheap crowd. We dance with DJ Nebraska every third Saturday of the month.
I think the drinks may be watered down, but they were only $5. I may have been there during some sort of happy hr on a Sunday. Music is usually the best on the top floor; great for dancing. The main floor is cool to chill and talk to friends.
Came here for a show and just really enjoyed the space. The show was in the back room which holds maybe 50 people. Before hand we were hanging out in the bar downstairs which is nice and we even spent sometime in the lounge upstairs. For a thursday night the crowd was good and the bar tenders friendly. I recommend this place for a show or grabbing a drink and hanging out.
Terrible choice in staff, When me and my friends arrived at 9:30 pm we immediately went upstairs because thats where the fun is. Drinks are over priced but the music is great. We left for a smoke break and when we headed upstairs they stopped us and refuse to let us go unless we pay the cover charge. We explained that we were already upstairs and had a table with all of our stuff. They decided not to listen and the bouncer shoved us to the side for upcoming customers. I had to literally beg them to listen so our things wont be stolen. After what felt like an hour, he finally agreed to let only me go upstairs while he holds my I.D so I can gather our belongings to leave. We will never return to this bar , there were 11 of us. The area has too many options to except this type of treatment.
Strolled into this place for the first time yesterday, and had a good experience. It was happy hour, so the beers and food were cheap. This places happy hour puts to shame any happy hour in any bar Ive been to in NJ. They had Sierra Nevada on tap, which earns the place at least one star, right off the bat. The atmosphere was chill, and the place has a lot of character. Which leads me to the characters. Lots of local characters. Good tunes playing. Plus, I ate dinner there. I got a nice, fresh, tasty salad, and a banging chicken sandwich with asparagus and artichoke hearts all for $6!!! And it was GOOD!!!I will return.
Music is good. The place is for young 20 year olds. They have 2 levels and 3 rooms of music. The bouncers are a bit aggressive and to skip the line you gotta pay a good amount of money on top of $20 for men $10 for women. They ask for your vaccination card but idk how strict they are with it. Top floor is the best floor imo. Won’t be going back though.
Extremely loud. Dont come here expecting meaningful conversations with your love interest. However it has a great happy hour. The nachos and English muffin burgers are not only cheap but very tasty. The drinks are a bargain and people know it. Even if you think youve gotten there early to beat the happy-hour crowd, you will be disappointed to see that all the seating has already been taken. Do not come here with a large group if you expect to sit together. During evenings they will have music upstairs and it is a comfortable place to lounge and listen to music.
I would not recommend this place to anyone. Bouncers are SMOKING WEED on the job. Appalled at the unprofessional behavior. This was around 8:30 on 4/27. He was hitting a dab pen. Looked like he was purposely turning away from the cameras. He was facing the street. Not sure about the other bouncers but I know one was.
Two levels for music, the upstairs is mostly acoustic. They get lots of good bands. Theres a good, nice-sized bar on the main floor. Sometimes a DJ sets up at the end of the bar. No food served here, but plenty of good food nearby
The venue was great a few areas within the bar. My wife and I paid to see the life music...for Halloween weekend it was a great lineup and did not disappoint. On my way out I grabbed two waters in plastic cups and the bouncers outside harassed me, physically grabbed the waters from my hands, dumped them on the ground, and threatened to punch me in the face. I couldnt believe it.
I went to hear singer Emilie Mover and Marcos Varella, bassist. I love Emilies songs so much. I hope she comes back. It is a lovely venue and a great East Village location. I remember when they sold pianos here. I am glad there is live music. It is a beautiful club. I am so happy I went. I hope to come back. I can tell the management loves music. The atmosphere is conducive to a good time. I love it a lot. Good bar in the front.
Pianos never disappoints. It’s not super classy or bougie but you will always have a good time. The second floor always has some pretty fun djs. And you are bound to see a celebrity or two. The mandatory coat check line can be a bit long in the colder months.
It was a nice well lit bar with chill people. I just so happened to arrive before an 8pm meetup and so found parking pretty easy. LES has changed so much as my car was totally safe in front of Pianos. I didnt get to see the upstairs, but the downstairs had good music and decent drinks. All in all a fun time. I could see that it gets rowdy / uncouth there because cops showed up as we were leaving.
The bouncers are very wack with very inflated egos. They literally go out of their way to be d***heads. Aside from the hellish experience of getting past security, I had a good time.
They have the BEST thai chicken burger that I have ever had in my life. I once went there twice in a week just for the burger.Always a good vibe. Came here on a Tuesday night and it was popping. Their happy hour specials are so cheap and all of the food that Ive had here has not been short of delicious.
I love this place. Good music. Coat check is mandatory if you go upstairs. Lively crowd. Decent drinks. Great area. Sometimes they charge to go upstairs but I guess its worth it.
Great place with good music and delicious frozen margaritas. The staff is very friendly and caring. Special thanks to Paul!!
Great indie music in the back and some pretty good food. Drinks are strong and delicious. Ive heard good things about the food but havent tried it. It can get hot without any apparent AC (or at most, AC on low) and many people crowded into a small room.
Pianos is a great music venue in the back and bar in the front type of place. They got security checking I.D. at the door. D.J. music spinning vinyl. Great selection of beer and drinks at a reasonable price. Ive never had the food before but i hear it is really good. Bathrooms are small and downstairs . There is also an upstairs nice space with good music as well. If you never been here before I definitely recommend checking it out at least once if you are In the area.
It sucks to see that people had bad experiences here. I had gone here about a year ago on a Sunday night and it was possibly my best night life experience ever. Not only is Piano’s aesthetically pleasing upstairs, but they have different vibes and atmospheres going on downstairs, as well. There was live music playing downstairs, with the whole party scene going on upstairs. I absolutely loved it. I also loved how they had seats. The music wasn’t what I expected, but I wasn’t mad at it either. So many upbeat, funky genres. Though we were only there for maybe an hour and a half, the energy not just from the DJ but from the people who didn’t even know us but had us all dancing together made Pianos my favorite place that I haven’t even gotten the chance to return to.
Decent lil spot and I do mean lil, DJs were ok, the crowd was friendly with a lil vibe to it the bartenders were cool and drinks were nice
Depending on the night the vibe is awesome . I love that their is different rooms with different music . It’s like a different atmosphere in every room . Only complaint why it isn’t 5 stars on Friday and Saturday’s after a certain time, the security guards if you’re a man trying to come in by yourself, will charge you 20 at the door. pianos is free to get in . They will say if you’re not accompanied by a woman you can’t come in or pay 20
They do begin to over charge after a certain time but youll be having such a dope time plus they dont charge at the door so u feel like you should spend a little more for the experience anyway good idea andd good bar im deff coming back
If youre supporting a friend whos performing here you are definitely coming here to go to the second floor because its lit up there. If youre a woman, single or with one others friend you shouldnt have a problem getting in quicker than the sausage fest on the line. I recommend everyone go on a Saturday night if you havent already.
Great music!! Two floors full of great vibes. Super packed after 11pm so you better come early so you can have a spot to dance!
Lots of great late night performances can be seen here for a fraction of the price and in an intimate environment. You can also linger outside the main room for drinks but prepare to pony up some green backs if you want to see the bands. The second floor is a great scene but get there early, as the night goes on the place gets filled up! The line to enter the bar is maned by a strange dude in a busted suit who sifts thru the line keeping a weary eye. Come with hot women or be prepared to wait!
Great live music, great atmosphere with a mixed crowd. 2 levels of music and bar action and a rear usually ticketed room for certain live performances. Moderately priced, restrooms are down a set of stairs for the main floor but, are clean. A+
Pianos is a cool spot with three different rooms playing multiple genres of music. The bartender Matt is not only easy on the eyes, but his magical hands are pleasing to my drinking palette! The food is pretty ok. The security are a lil too rough and they need to work on communication skills. Otherwise its a great spot and youll have a great time!
Super small but super cute! Lets call it intimate. Small space is there for live acts so you can catch some live music on the right night.
Went there solo on a Thursday night while traveling through NY. This place has a really great vibe, lounge bar / with a good sized busy dance floor, a mixture of after work drinkers and your weeknight club-goers. Youngish crowd 21-35... A good mixture of nationalities, DJ playing some new and classic hip-hop / R&B.
The bouncers are so racist. Seemed like a black people place only. They were letting black people in and to us they said that the entry is closed. Cant wait to invite black people to my place and tell them its closed
Great crowd and music - there are live bands playing at the back, although you have to pay a cover to hear them. It is particularly popular with young hipster crowd. There is a great cocktails selection.
Used to be my favorite place to go clubbing but it’s mad packed now and they only do cover charges. (Never know the cover charges now because it’s different every time I go.) very sad :(
This place is fun and horrible at the same tine. If you are a regular and that usually means tipping well... then you can get in like a rock star. Also helps to know a bar tender or two. Money talks in NYC.If you can get in dont sweat it... move on there are a million bars to have fun in and the people you are with are usually the party.Have seen so many great performances here... get on a list... its easier than you think. Tip. Youll get a drink faster after you tip well the 1st time. And - yes...Sometimes there are so many bridge and tunnel types here you want to shoot yourself.
I have been here a couple of times. The first time was a blur with the amount of alcohol that was consumed, but I did have a lot of fun.The second time I popped in for a quick meal at the bar. It waa decent, typical bar food, not much to rave about.
Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday this place is a complete waste of your time and money. You might as well go to kind regards or no fun which are way better lounges. The music here is mediocre, but the main issue was the girl at the front who ran in and grabbed my homegirl by the collar and yanked her out of the bar. She doesn’t let cute girls in the bar and she disgustingly flirts with guys on the line. If you do reciprocate her advances she’ll either charge you or kick you out. It’s sad, but on the flip side king regards no fun are wayyyt better !!
Partied here with a couple friends and had a blast. The music was different, the DJs in the back always got the best and newest music, and really know how to mix it well. I believe its not far from the university, so lots of young people around.
Overall, Pianos is a nice spot, good drinks, music and dance floors. Yesterday I brought my girlfriend here for her first night in NYC. I was left with a sour taste in my mouth however as I had never experienced that level of gender based price discrimination on covers before. DCA
I must say this is one of my favoriteeee placessss to go in nyc!!!! You can go on anyyyyyy nighttt from mon-sun and there is always something going on each and every night until 4am !!!! Bartenders and stafff are amazinggg I recommend 5 starssss !!!
Pianos is a very popular nightlife club. That features a variety of music simultaneously in its upstairs and downstairs styled lounging area. The night I went I paid USD$20.00 to gain entry. The top floor was a melody of Caribbean focused music and the bottom a blend of house and other genres. 5 out of 5 stars worth the experience.
My friends and I wanted to come to this place to enjoy our Monday night and see a rap battle event they were hosting -- they turned us away at the door, and asserted that my friends ID was fake and could not be allowed in. My friend is 100% of age, and insisted that they scan the ID to verify its authenticity-- this man refused and yelled at us to leave. He told us to call the police if we had an issue... Ive never witnessed anything so rude or disrespectful and I cant ever recommend this place after receiving that kind of treatment. The bouncer was even apologizing to us and saying he was sorry but he couldnt let us in because of this rude, drunk man. I dont know if he was the owner or someone who ran the establishment, but he told us to never show up here again -- and we wont. We will gladly never take our business here again. Thank you :)
Stopped through with my girls for the first time. We went straight upstairs and hit the dance floor lol. Its kinda if small but the dj was Niiiice
The quality of the drinks here have decreased in the last 5 years. The frozen margaritas used to be so strong and cheap! Now they are watered down and pricer... such is life. The mediterranean nachos are a winner here. Very tasty and unique , dont think Ive seen this on many peoples menus. The happy hour is nice, I wouldnt pay full price here off happy hour. The vibe is very downtown cool , typical LES.
Great vibe. Three different areas, so you always find the discs to match your mood. Open minded staff. Real people. No attitude. There will be a line on Fri and sat. Its worth it.Its definitely worth the visit
How great can a lounge really be if they can’t even answer client phone calls?? I lost something and was advised to call the next day to see if the item was returned, but NO ONE answered the phone. It’s extremely unprofessional and honestly quite suspicious. If the phone number doesn’t work, or the operating system is not working properly than it should be addressed, or your employees, at the very least, should be a able to provide a more useful way to contact the lunge.
$5 frozen margs during happy hour. Need I say more? It’s a fun performance space with two different stages and upstairs can get dance-y at night. Can get crowded and humid but such is LES in the warmer months
Pianos had a really great happy hour with $5 frozen margaritas. The atmosphere is usually pretty lively and they have fun dj’s most of the time. I loved their Indian style chickpea nachos but the last time I went they had a new chef and their nachos were terrible...
DO NOT COME HERE if you are trying to have a good time. Bobs Bar is way better. I felt unsafe at this location. They treat you by the color of your skin and not the content of your character. All people of color (Red or Yellow, Black or White) should feel offended as this is not representative of the false reputation that they are trying to project. I repeat: DO NOT COME HERE if you are trying to have fun.
Fun happy hour crowd and fabulous DJkeep you entertained before you tear yourself away for hours of great live music in the back. Mediterranean nachos make for a savory meal while listening to nonstop tunes spun for pleasure. Even when Im going to other venues for bands, I stop by Pianos for dinner and drinks. Theres no beating the quality and price.
Bartender Friday night upstairs on 9/21 was the rudest Ive ever met. waited in line calmly, but still refused to take my drink order. never even looked in my direction despite no one else waiting to order drinks
The vibe in this place is nice. Great spot to chill and listen to some music with some friends. The dj upstairs was killin it, her mixes were dope. The food is good and the best part is they have vegan and vegetarian options.
Always so much fun. Whe. Ylu go upstairs it gets crowded and hot though! Younger crown Im 30. They def were like 21-25 which is cool I just wanted a fun night.
A friend of mine was kicked out of the bar for being the only man there wearing makeup. It literally makes me sick. This place should be reported for a hate crime.
Be very causes with this if you decide to go to this place!!! Bouncer is very provocative and highly unprofessional, he will try to find a reason to provoke you and possibly started a brawl that might turn into the physical fight. He is tall, muscular has dreads and wears hat.Place it self is very cool, and its a lot of fun! But its not worth it! Most likely you will get humiliated, disrespected and maybe physically assaulted.
Dropped in around 5:30pm on a Friday. Place was already pretty busy. Bartenders were a bit slow, but friendly nonetheless. Drinks were on the stronger side. Cool place to catch live bands.
Great music and they also have a live jazz band. Mostly stayed at the top floor but the two floors generally play different type of music. So if youre not feeling one DJ you ca always go to another floor
Loveeeeeeeeeeeeeee their food. Absolutely hate the service. Cant be shy in here, you must get all up in the employees faces to order, even if its not crowded. Also dont expect to get food here after 9, itll be too busy and you wont get an order in. Aise from that, its a cool place to chill. Drinks are crappy, but the atmosphere is fun if yourr into that sort of thing. Definitely try the food if youre early, its worth putting up with the bad service.
EDM and Hip Hop non stop until the early morn on the second floor with lots of people dancing. Live band in the second room and another DJ on the main floor where you walk in. There are two bars, one on each floor. All in all its good fun. The space was crowded but not too crowded.
Bouncer didn’t let me in because I did t know the name of the dj. Other people in line didn’t know the name either, I knew because I asked them. Bouncer let them in. Very negative experience here
I came across this gem years ago , at first it seems a but too uptight but once youre in there time literally passes you by. They have a room in the back with love music and you never know what you will be in for. Upstairs is loungy with a bar and DJ. The menu is small but the food is fresh and delicious.
Really popular bar/club so theres always a long line to get in after 11pm Friday and Saturday. 2 dance rooms one on main floor and 1 upstairs which sometimes ask for cover charge. Great music and vibes.!
This is the place to be! You party for cheap and actually have fun! Its super packed but the line to get in moves relatively fast. You will be dancing all night with a college crowd thats super diverse
One of the go-to spots to party. Always good-looking people. Not a place to catch up with friends. A place to go with friends to dance and drink to start the night off. Great place for young people to stop by if youre visiting NYC. Known spot to meet people.
