1. Server didn’t subtract $220 deposit from our bill, so I was charged an extra $220; scam (attempted to contact Vesper for a week by text, call and email with no response)2. We didnt receive an itemized receipt for items charged, fees, gratuity, tax, deposit redeemed, etc. (the receipt that confirms 20% gratuity is included in the bill and deposit was subtracted; This is a tactic servers often use to get tipped twice3. The establishment still appeared closed past 12:30pm although the event starts at 12pm (chairs upside down on bars, curtain in front of host stand closed, staff neglectful, no one greeted or offered to help until we walked behind the curtain)4. Your party can’t be seated or start the mimosa package until your entire party has arrived even though you’re charged a $50 min for each person in your party regardless; tactic to slow down liquor flow and make extra money5. 10+ mins after being seated, still no server approached our table. We had to notify the host stand and request a server6. We kept running out of champagne and having to hunt down the server. We were brought 1 bottle at a time for 11 people and had to request 2 at a time. (Tactic to slow down liquor). The guy working picked up our server’s slack and started getting us bottles quicker and clearing the table.7. Our eggs came out after we already finished eating brunch, not with the rest of our food.8. The unlimited mimosa package is worth it and the party is fun but the customer service wasn’t good.9. We were told our reservation would be cancelled with no deposit refund if the entire party didn’t arrive by 1pm even though you’re charged a $50 min for each person in your party regardless
These place is trash, for what they charge for, first of all they open late, because the had some kind of water pipe burst, than we had a party of 22, they try to put us at a table that hold 8-10 people, water was on the floor, than we went upstairs and it was enough room for us, but we order the mimosas package they didn’t have enough flutes, the food was served on 2 extra plates and only served 10 people, 2loaf of bread 1/2 toast and 1/2 French toast, bacon, eggs and potatoes. Other people who planned a party did not have a seat for their party, that place was like sardines in a can, I would never ever go there again. Overall we made do for my gf birthday because we came to far to turn back. It’s plenty places in center city to celebrate birthday and etc. PLEASE DONT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS PLACE, ITS TRASH
I would go again for the vibe but there was a bug crawling in my food. The manager said he’d get us a round of shots but that doesn’t make up for it being a bug in my food. The service was ok. The waitress didn’t really check up on us on a needed basis. The tables are very small. Kind of gives a hurry up and eat type vibe.
My friends scheduled brunch for my birthday this coming Saturday the 13th as a surprise, but it was ruined bc Vesper cancelled the reservation without a call or refund on the 9th. It was booked june 28th. We’ve been trying to call them for several days & DMing them on Instagram but no one will respond to either explain the cancellation or return the money already paid.We went here for a friends birthday several years ago and loved it, we wanted to go again but clearly Vesper is not attentive to business or interested in returning customers. Be careful with your reservations.
I can only speak to the customer service so far and it’s been HORRIBLE!I went to book online and received an error message while checking out. I attempted the transaction again thinking there was an error on my part- same error message again. I sent an email to the address in the error message with no response and no confirmation of the reservation. It’s been 4 days! The two transactions then showed on my bank account as pending, but I figured they’d fall off due to the error message.I decided to use the text line after 1 day of no email reply. They asked if I had a charge and I explained everything- they stopped responding. Text the next day as BOTH charges have now processed on my account and they tell me they don’t have a party with my guest count. They requested a screenshot which I sent and ONCE AGAIN stopped responding. If this is how customers are treated before stepping foot in the building, I would hate to see what happens upon arrival. At this point I’m better off disputing the charges with my bank.
Went for brunch on a Sunday. Definitely more of club than brunch, but had a great time! Could not stop dancing, a definite must go if you like parting.
After moving to PA a few days ago, my girlfriend and I are on a quest to find the best brunch spots in Philly and surrounding areas, and this was our first spot.We appreciate that this place does brunch both on Saturday and Sunday, we don’t see that a lot where we’re friends. We were pretty surprised at the price of endless mimosas, $25 for just drinks. Where we’re from endless mimosas are usually between $12-16, for $25 we could get an endless breakfast brunch. The food was ok. I got the chicken and waffles which I was a bit disappointed in. The chicken was more like adult chicken tenders and not fried chicken wings. The breading they had was very interesting but I hate it nonetheless. I would’ve appreciated some actual wings or something like that. The atmosphere was pretty fun, we got there at 12:30 and were the only ppl there. Next time we will make a reservation so we can come later once it starts getting full. The music was decent but definitely started picking up once we were ready to go around 4pm.All in all it was a cool experience for our first Philly brunch. Not sure if we would do it again on our own, maybe when we have friends in town.
Do not book! They canceled my reservation the night before my birthday event and I have not received a refund! Its been 6 weeks!
I reached out about the VIP dining experience and bottle service as I’m looking for a fun club to celebrate my birthday and I got no response… Thanks for showing me where not to spend my $$$$ to party!!!
This place is a complete SCAM! They are taking deposits and canceling reservations. (and also lying saying their place is shutdown because of leaks and floods) Then they block you on open table and won’t answer your call. After 3 weeks, we have not received a refund.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. I booked a large dinner party for my sister’s surprise birthday party. I booked it a month in advanced, paid the deposit, communicated with Gia the event coordinator several times. I received a text a couple days before confirming my reservation to have all my guests show up to a CLOSED venue! I received no call, email, or text from Vesper. I called them several times to no avail. My friends and family were scrambling to find a place that would accommodate 16 people on a Saturday night. 2 days later, still received no call or apologies from Vesper. I finally emailed Gia about the situation and all she said was sorry with no explanation, besides that the hostess was supposed to call me. I explained how upset I was because it was for a surprise birthday party and not just for a night out. She said she would refund me and provide me with a gift card. I did receive a refund BUT DID NOT receive a gift card. Absolutely horrible customer service!!
Booked again for friends birthday brunch because we had a great time last year. But their site tells me there was an error when booking and it wasn’t processed but I was charged 3x. I texted and not response. I IG no response. I emailed and got a response from Gia and she asked for my last 4 digits on card and never heard back. I told her I just wanted refund for 2 of 3 charges because I still wanted the booking. It’s supposed to be this Saturday and crickets….im not sure what’s going on since so many people had the same issue 😭😭😭11 months agoSunday birthday brunch was litty! Servers were very attentive. Plenty of security. Music was great! We did the bottomless mimosas and they were always coming to refill. My friend got a slice of birthday cake with a sparkler. It was fun and I would come back. FYI don’t bring mace, weapons or even bottles because they won’t let you in.
I went to an event in the basement. Great atmosphere, the sliders were delicious as well as the whiskey drinks. Service was limited for the event i was at, not sure why it as so sparse given the amount of people that signed up to be there... but it was nice. Def not for a crowd, more intimate setting.
Vesper was a lit bottomless mimosa brunch. The food was okay but the servers were great and very attentive. The bottles of champagne never stopped coming. A new bottle always arrives as soon as one was finished. The music was fantastic and if it’s your birthday, you will receive a slice of cake with a sparkler in it.
The new management is scamming people, accepting reservations and canceling without refund! I still didn’t get my money back
It was my actual birthday on January 14. I sent a confirmation email the day before to say I was coming. I was running 45 minutes late as I had an emergency and the convention was in town so traffic. I got there to find out my reservation was cancelled and no one called.
I booked a brunch reservation to celebrate my birthday and received a text message two days before my event saying they had maintenance issues and will no longer be able to host the event. I understand things happen but I did find it a bit unprofessional on how I was notified. Either way, I requested a full refund which I was advised takes 5-6 business days. We are now on the 9th business day and still no refund! I have reached out regarding my refund and received no response! Super disappointed with my whole experience with Vesper!
Came to vespers for the Sunday dinner brunch to celebrate my birthday and I must say I had a great time it’s hard to find a place that gives a vibe working in hospitality because we’re always working the hours normal people are partying. Ashley and Paige made sure I had the best night I had in a long time and I appreciate them dearly , DJ bry definitely did his thing had a little karaoke session with him too . My friends are already talking about planning another outing there ❤️
I got a Saturday nightlife section for my friends bachelor party. We had a good time, but we had A LOT of questions about how the money works and we couldnt call them, only text, and they hardly answered the texts. And we HAD to buy expensive drinks from a specific menu. Also our section was RIGHT in front of the DJs speakers and it was way too loud. I was not able to see where wed be placed and they said they were sold out for the night, but we didnt see anybody come to any of the closer booths that were farther from speakers and had more seats, and we were there till around midnight. And it was just way too much money. Our servers were good we just could hardly hear them. They absolutely NEED to dial back the prices and LET US CALL AND ASK QUESTIONS! Thats not how you do business, thats very shady and there was a club that was probably much shadier, that was easier to get in contact with and ask questions.
Reserved a table for the Night Life VIP Service online for 10:30pm. We arrived at 10:45 pm and had to wait an extra 45 minutes before being seated. Music was good, but for the price the VIP experience should have came with a bartender or at least someone pouring or mixing our drinks plus appetizers would have been nice. We didnt feel like VIPs this night. Save your money 💰
I had my birthday brunch on the sky lounge (their largest section). In which I was in contact with the even person who came up with a package that best suited my party of 17, I paid the deposit totaling ($370) but the guest was giving a private link for ($70.49/pp). Majority of the party paid using the link, when got there to check in the hostess was very clueless had to call someone in which hey screen shot her a list, I asked her if I could see it and tell her who they are by email address but she was secretive. After waiting over 20 minutes cause she was confused she asked me and my party to step aside so she can check in others, I told her no because you need to focus on my party who was here first. After another 10/15 minutes we got seated but before she asked for my card incase additional charges was made. I said ok . Them the hostess asked about ordering, I explained to her we had the family style. She had to leave to confirm. At the end I was leaving she gave my card to someone in my party not me with no receipt but I was charged $340 but there was no additional charges everyone paid for their drinks aside of mimosa. Now I cant get in contact with anyone. Very unprofessional. I would not recommend or return.
My friend had booked a reservation here and the day before they TEXTED HER and told her it was closed. They did give her a refund but, they just said it was for maintenance. Meanwhile this reservation was for her BIRTHDAY. This conduct was unprofessional and we WILL NOT EVEN ATTEMPT to go back here. 0/0 stars.
Years ago, I played here as a contracted musician. My first time being there was a good experience, we were paid fairly for our services and given about a $25-$50 bar tab which includes food and drink (which is standard in industry work for musicians). The 3rd time being there was an awful experience. Everything started off pretty normal, me and my friend were playing organ duo and it came time for our break. While we were at the bar a customer next to us was eating the oysters. I had said out loud “oh those look good!” The bartender then offered us if we wanted to try them. Stress on the word “try.” Working in industry joints as a musician it isn’t uncommon for bartenders or servers to offer food or drink, so without hesitation I accepted the bartenders offer. However, at the end of our gig, that is when we ran into problems. Me and my friend both had the oysters but management saw it as us taking advantage of them. So instead of having a frank discussion about a misunderstanding the owner of this establishment handed us our checks before jetting off in his car and before we had the chance to open up the envelope and discover that we had been shorted of our pay. We were also never asked back even after discussing about them having us be there on a weekly basis. This was an incredibly passive aggressive move on the owners part and in all my years of working at many clubs this was the only time something like this happened.
The experience was actually nice the bar tender kept the mimosas coming but i bought tickets before coming and when i arrived they wanted my id and credit card not even sure why. I dont think i saw them do that for anyone else. They returned it when we left but the next day I realized they charged me $168 and have no idea why. And they dont answer the phones when you call
Good vibe!!! But for as much as they charge, it should be a lot cleaner in there. The floors were sticky & they just opened. The glasses were dirty the utensils were dirty. The waitress had an attitude because we ask for clean dishes.
My friends and I made up a party of 10 for brunch on New Year’s Day. We had a great time even with only two other parties there. Mimosas were good and food was okay. The bathrooms had water all over the floor and I almost slipped. I brought it to security’s attention and he said he would get someone to clean it, that didn’t happen….Overall we had a good time until the end. One person in our group of 10, the largest group at the brunch, lost their phone. They happened to notice the phone was missing at the end when it was to leave. We mentioned it to some of the staff but they showed little to no interest in the situation and rushed us out of the building. As a reminder we were one of 4 groups who attended brunch that afternoon so it would not have hurt to give us the appropriate amount of time to look. The bouncers except for one were very rude and demeaning when we brought up the issue. When I asked for a general managers name and contact information I was denied. Being someone who has worked in this restaurant and service industry I was highly appalled by the customer service when this issue arose. Maybe if the customer service improved the “brunch party” wouldn’t be almost empty…
Food quality dropped, food was room temperature/cool when it came out. Website does not reflect changes to family style brunch (items taken off and not endless anymore). Over decent experience. Would weigh against other options based on food quality/items and no endless food. Especially for the price (~$80 after entrance fee, taxes and fees)
I came here last weekend for my girlfriends birthday and the VIP hostess Alaina was extremely helpful with fulfilling my requests and accommodating them. We were communicating a week prior to the visit and we were taken care of by her and the server who was also fantastic. We really enjoyed the bottle service and the signs they brought out that made my friends celebration feel extra special. I would recommend Vesper for a birthday or any other occasion!
Ryan was SO HELPFUL all night!!!!!! made new years eve super special! lukas at the door was also so friendly and nice. amazing amazing service
Went for a Sunday brunch party. I would not recommend. I’ve attended a similar style brunch party at another venue in the city and was expecting something along those lines. Our party reserved in advance as most do. When we arrived, we were placed in a section that does not fit the amount of people that it was supposed to. Some of the guests had to sit in extra chairs that were not at the table side. The table did not have enough space to fit one plate per guest, and some ate with plates on their laps. It was also very hot inside. There are other party brunches in the city that will easily accommodate you for the same cost and a better experience.
Paid $811. For maybe one minute of a happy birthday with some “fire” and 3 girls to come out… listen don’t buy bottle service (2 bottles) Girls were nice dj was eh too much strobe lights. The “section” that you get is small and it’s not roped off so random people kept coming it to our area.. Only reason why it’s a 3 start is because the lady that set everything up was nice
Great fun place to party went for a bar crawl. Their tables are for renting so me and my friends had to hold our plates and eat but otherwise great place.
I will NEVER recommend this place to ANYONE!! I went this past weekend for my bday party brunch and it was embarrassing. The food was room temperature and not very good. The champagne flutes were plastic, which should have meant disposable but they reuse them evidenced by the cloudiness, scratches, and scrapes all over them. We even had to send some back because they had lipstick prints all around the rim. The cutlery was filthy & they tried to tell us that it was just water spots. It was just gross, we ended up eating with our hands. The bottomless mimosas were a joke. The “champagne” had to be watered down because a group of 7 of us went through 9 bottles without feeling tipsy at all. The service is SUBPAR!! We were seated 10-15 mins & we never greeted by our host. We had to ask security to get our her to come over. Also, I was reaching out for weeks to get information about my reservation via phone, email, and social media & no one ever responded. It’s overpriced and not worth it! Save your money and time, don’t do it.
Forgot my card there. Blonde bartender let a random person take it with them because she quote “ thought we were friends. So I gave it to them”…I said seriously and she smirked and laughed.Obviously a mistake leaving my card but her passing it off to a random person then laughing is mindblowing.
Amazing spot on Fridays. The bouncer Neeth is awesome and welcoming. And the staff inside. The Bar tenders were very cool too. And the djs upstairs and downstairs? Wow! Just wow! This place was bumping like crazy and I loved every moment there. What a way to open the first night in beautiful PHILLY.
I will NEVER go here ever again. They let their blonde hair white manager girl push me away from a table that was empty and not booked. WHO let’s an employee push customers. Whole body involved like she should respect no one. Yall should be embarrassed. Unfortunately, they’re not. I spoke to the “owner” who was supposedly sending me the video footage of her “just simply making a mistake”. He never sent me a video. Yes I’m a young black woman unprotected by lawyers, establishments etc, so I guess their blonde hair manager could knock me to the floor as far as they’re going concerned. Fun for a paying customer. Wouldn’t recommend you come here nothing new about who makes the rules. Very American White thank you for another experience of I shouldn’t get too comfortable. Liar of an owner and professionalism doesn’t exist anymore. Happy 2023..
Attended on a Sunday morning/afternoon with a party of approximately 10. This place has a great atmosphere. The music has variety and spans multiple generations. The servers are very attentive and beautiful to boot. Drinks are reasonably priced and bottomless mimosas for brunch on Saturday & Sunday will only cost you $35. You have to pour your mimosas on your own though. They give you the bottle of champagne and a bottle of orange juice on the table for you to perfect you mimosa combination. The biggest downside is that I had to wait 2+ hours for food. I ordered French toast and a side of bacon and it took forever for it to arrive. The rest of my party received their food and was mostly done before my food arrived.
What a find! Had a going away party here, and was pleasantly surprised at the place, the service, and the food/drink. All were top notch. Had a solo guitar player playing during our party. Staff was very attentive, and the drinks and food were quickly delivered. Would certainly go back again.
Not a great experience. Came with a group of girls after talking to one of the managers leading up to the event. Was supplied with a bottle list with specified prices. When we arrived, however, the bottle menu prices was completely different (prices were much higher of course). The atmosphere was fun for the most part, but something as simple as being honest about the prices is so simple. I am more than happy to pay high prices in exchange for a fun night, but if you want to charge X amount, do it and be upfront about the price from the get-go and dont try to be sneaky.
Walked in on a tuesday and was greeted right away. There’s new management and they were extremely helpful and polite. I even got to taste the menu that was coming out today! Cocktails are tasteful. I had the old fashioned (delicious with the vanilla), flower sour was so light and refreshing and last but not least i had to try the gritty. Thanks Ryan! See you soon
Saturday mid-day brunch felt like a Saturday night party at a modern trendy club. What a fun day my friends had last weekend. The mimosa deal was fantastic and the food was generous and tasty. The DJ, sound system, and TVs were cutting edge. Servers and hosts were first class. I begrudgingly went for a boy band themed brunch and had a great time. Ive had cocktails at the front bar several times but the back main room steals the show. Im looking forward to bringing a group for football and buckets of fried chicken.
If there was an option for zero stars I would give it. Made reservations for brunch in the main room and showed up on time and there was no host at the desk. Waited over 10 minutes for someone to show up while other staff just walked by us ignoring us. Finally after the host showed up, I was told there was an issue with the table and we had to be put in a corner by ourselves outside of the main room. If I wanted to eat in a corner by myself, I can do that at home and with better music. Save your money for places that appreciate your choice to spend it with them. And I planned on doing bottle service, but I guess I didn’t look the part.
I had an awesome time here over the weekend. I came for brunch with the girls and had Bottomless Mimosas. Our server Preach was an absolute delight!!! He made sure we had everything we needed before we could even think to ask! He made certain that all we had to think about was having a good time! And on top of everything the brunch and drinks were delicious! I would definitely come back again!!!
Great place to watch the game however do not get a table for brunch its overpriced the food was pre cook and the server is not worth her tips. The DJ was the best thing in the place
We were shamelessly overcharged for our group of 55 people at Party Brunch. The club told us they would count our guests, then told us they were charging per glass removed from our bucket. Um, whos to say another party didnt take our glasses to not get charged for theirs? Also charged us for a meal delivered to our table during the party that no one ate...again, was probably meant for another table. Good vibes, but wont go back because Ive already paid more than I expected and dont plan to give them more business. Chaos needs to be controlled.
Went here for bottomless brunch on a Saturday with a group of about 10 and we all had an awesome time. Our server Angela was great, it seemed like there was always a full bottle of champagne on our table. Its probably the only party brunch scene in Philly that is anywhere close to to what you can find in NYC. Would definitely go back again
The short version of this review is the the customer service is horrible and reservations are not honored. After making a reservation about a month prior I was informed that my seating could not be accommodated in the main room because there was a change in management. The management did not hand over any prior reservations and the only ones that were honored were the ones hand written on a piece of computer paper. This whole time I was talking to Tim who is apparently the owner and after dealing with him Im thinking he may want to be a silent partner but I digress. Tim took me to the main area to tell me that it is only for bigger parties and my party of four would only be able to sit in there on a slow day. He told me that even if my reservation was passed on that we would be bumped for bigger parties because they need the space. We made a comment about how that was not a good business practice and he just shrugged his shoulders. At that time he offered us a table by the bar/by the door and we would still be able to freely float between the table and main room. I expressed my concern with that because I am not ok with leaving cups and food unattended because there is the possibility of anything happening to my food or drinks, worse case drugging. Tim then became very upset and started yelling at me accusing me of yelling at him and insinuating that I have been drugged in his establishment. I informed him that I was not yelling and I did not say I was drugged. I then asked if he was going to help me as promised or not, he then told me to leave. While I understand that it may be a hectic time because all of the management left/was fired, I will not accept being treated and talked to any kind of way because of internal issues.
Went here for New Years Eve where I was guaranteed all you can eat food and an open bar. Unfortunately, I was not served a drink within 15 minutes unless I was WAVING around a cash tip (even after paying $120 to attend the event!). Also, it was mentioned that a variety of menu choices for the all you can eat menu would be available, including vegan options. However, the only thing that was prepared was a tray of ham and cheese scattered all over the table. Overall it was not a terrible experience, but it definitely fell short of expectations.
Went here for the first time with my friends last night thinking it would be a good atmosphere, and the bar staff was extremely rude. Very careless and slow on purpose. The bartender handed my friends drink to her and it spilled, my friend apologized and the bartender said in an extremely nasty way, “you act like it’s my fault”. Another bartender snapped his fingers at us and said hurry up when we were getting our payment out! I work in the restaurant industry and have bartended for 5 years and have never experienced such a careless and condescending bar staff. Made it a point to write a review for how strongly I feel about this and I’m not one to write reviews. Would stay clear of this place.
Dont take these pictures as the actual appearance and dont over-dress! Its not a nice place. The place is unprofessional and dirty looking from the seating to the tables! I dont recommend this place to anyone! I was just there for the fight and its not a place get all dressed up to go to. Not worth it trust me!
If you get booked for a table or bar upstairs for weekend brunch, cancel your reservation because its not worth it. You pay the same as people downstairs in the main room and youre not getting the same experience. Different DJ, different music, lights stay on the whole time. You can go downstairs but you dont have your own space and your champagne is upstairs. Disappointing. Upstairs should be cheaper if they are going to use that space.NoLibs location is smaller but there is not a bad spot in the entire place. Way better than Center City in my opinion.
Delicious food, spectacular service and an absolutely amazing voice by Genevieve, the singer, on Monday night. It was a quiet Monday night and we decided to celebrate my birthday dinner at Vesper. The food was amazing. Pork belly was the best we have ever had. Perfectly crisp on the outside and melted like butter in the middle. Our server was extremely knowledgeable and helped guide us through the menu. He went above and beyond to make our evening the best. I wish I remembered his name but he had a high pony tail.Genevieve was the best addition to an amazing evening. She sang with so much passion in her voice and we couldnt get enough. Highly recommend this place.
I come here ALL the time for the fun atmosphere and delicious food. I dont know who is back there making the chicken but its amazing. Its not your typical brunch spot either- that place is bumpin! The guys at the door are strict with the dress code, so you have to come correct. Ask for Danny Diamonds!
Had such a great time. Best brunch I’ve been to in Philly as far as atmosphere music, mimosas and, lots of tv’s! I just had sides chips and guac potatoes etc.
Been here a bunch for various reasons and it never disappointed. Watched a Sixers playoff game here, Phillies regular season game (because you know they NEVER freaking make the playoffs), and an Eagles game here. Probably one of the best environments in town to watch a game. Also been here for a night out. Got bottle service and partied til last call. Saw a couple celebrities and Philly sports athletes. Even got to see the infamous air cannon over the dance area. Good times, highly recommend!
Virtually nothing on the menu especially for the main course to choose from, overpriced small plates, most food is too salty. Cant hear each other speak if you are eating there during an open mic night - so there is obviously no sound check going on for each performer. Bar is good and deserts are good though.
Food was good, but overpriced. Service was terrible; they were understaffed on the night we went; although the manager did comp us drinks in return, when he finally made it over. The classic supper club atmosphere was non-existent, due to the managements unwillingness to muzzle a table full of 15 loud drunks in the middle of the dining room, who were totally ignorant of the other diners. Most amazing epic fail: the music - it was BLUEGRASS! No offense to its fans, or to hipsters who read in Rolling Stone that its cool now ( or to the band, who were talented - Man About A Horse ) - but most people who are hungry for a return of the classic urban supper club vibe would agree - this is the least appropriate genre for that venue; north of Alabama...! We wont be returning...
I celebrated my birthday the past 2 years and they were both a huge success. I booked private parties with Angela and she was the best! great communication with her before, during, and after the day. She went above and beyond to make sure my birthday was perfect I have sent a couple bachelorette parties there as well and they could not have been better! I cannot wait to book more events with Vesper and Ang in the future!
We arrived at Vesper expecting a fabulous brunch. Not the case at all walking in this venue. We may have been late however the nasty service and unprofessionalism was out of order. Utterly classless. We have received better service at the Ritz Carlton in Center city!!! Who asks for 200 dollars to hold on a credit card when we are paying cash!!!! Two hours wasted. We paid for hourly parking to come to Vesper. Philadelphia is not close!!! We all drove an hour. This was supposed to be a celebratory day for our sister whose relocating!
Food is fine, club scene is fine, but god damn. They should not serve brunch or need to figure out a way to serve it in the club setting because no one can hear anything when they are trying to serve food. Everyone is confused and food has to be tried, realized it’s not right, then passed to the right person. Feel like there are simple solutions to this problem but just ignored. Def moreof a club which is fine, but figure it out if your going to offer it as a combo sort of thing
Came here for my birthday over the weekend and had an amazing time as usual. Angela was our server and made sure we had everything we needed. She went above and beyond to make sure the night was amazing.I will definitely be returning soon and will request Angela again! Thank you Vesper!
Philadelphia has been lacking a consistent brunch day party scene forever. It was refreshing to finally find a place that catered to exactly that. DJ Solo was amazing. The setup with the bottomless mimosas is exactly the feel you get from other popular cities like Atlanta and Washington DC. This place will be a staple in my visits back home to Philadelphia
Was her for nft Philly also been before for open mics. I wish I could bring that back maybe someone will let me do a private show upstairs or downstairs in the private room that would be dope. If you can guess the entrance.
Great place for a nicer dinner or cocktails. Different nights of the week bring a different crowd. Sometimes low key, other times more party. Food is delicious, but on the pricier side. Vegetarian options. Staff is friendly and accommodating.
This place is extremely UNPROFESSIONAL! I called and sent multiple detailed messages... via voicemail and email regarding my sisters 40th birthday! .... NOBODY BOTHERED TO CALL ME BACK OR TEACH OR ON ANY LEVEL! I called both locations and the same HORRIBLE.... LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE! ITS OK.....I just took my party off 15 along with our moneyto an establishment who wanted and appreciated my business! The sad part is Ive been here before which is why I wanted to celebrate such an important milestone bday there. So now my whole family and guests knows to stay FAR AWAY from BOTH of your establishments! Learn how to exhibit PROPER customer service and learn how to reply to messages... or remove messages s an option and answer a phone! That was another part of the problem....I literally called more than 5 times which is unacceptable on every level! I wish half a star was an option because thats exactly what your business would have received!
I have been signing up for a membership for about 3 years to become a member of the day club and I still have not gotten anybresponse. I’ve called, emailed, texted, and even reached out on social media everyone says the same thing “they’re still taking applications “ but NO ONE REACHES OUT ! They ask for your credit card information during the sign up but can’t inform you on your application status. I understand this is a private facility but common courtesy as a business is very appreciated. I wanted to have a private party but I cannot due to me not being a member. I know that they are open and have accepted a lot of applications. I’ve been waiting for to long just to know about a status.
Not a very diverse crowd at all. 🥴 DJ was decent. But the people are just so drunk and out of control. The space is small so people just bump into you for no reason. Heard they have a brunch - its a Hard Pass for me.
The food was good, but there were inordinately long wait times in between courses, and also at least twenty minutes between our asking for the bill and actually receiving it. We are not calling back.Full disclosure: We were there for restaurant week, but I think thats not a good reason for poor service.
I would give this place 3.5 stars.Positive: the lobster busque, filet mignon, and seabass were fantastic! The jazz singer was nice. The negative: mojitos that were ordered did not taste like they have ANY alcohol. Upon bringing this to the waiters attention, his reply was that if we order more drinks, he would made sure they would include extra alcohol. The spinach and mash potatoes were WAY over salted. For the amount they charge i do not think this is a good value.
Love it, love it, love!!!! I have never had so much fun in the middle of a Saturday than I had here. The music, food, and atmosphere are all great!!!
Went for a birthday brunch. Food and service were good but the air wasn’t working so will not be returning.
Came to vesper for an event. A burlesque show. I would have had a great time if I didnt feel ignored. In addition to the show there was supposed to be a cocktail hour and food. Drinks took forever and we werent seen by a waiter to order food until the show is almost over. I think they should rethink the event spaces size and the # of ppl to a show so that everyone is easily accommodated in the future. I would say 2.5 stars.
Loving the redone style, Vesper! Was very surprised that on a late Tuesday night, this place still had a live, talented artist playing and there was a decent amount of people inside. The drinks are...legit. So given that I am a recent college grad and am only recently developing a palette away from vodka in plastic handles, I was surprised. The martini, the manhattan, the cosmo, all legit. No frills, no fruity add-ons. Like Ron from Parks and Recs would probably love this place. While I might just opt for a fruity drink next time, I appreciate the vibe they have going and how they are true to their image.Friendly staff!
Definitely a place with great quality service. You never know what to expect from Vesper. I enjoyed the people and the secret password that was used. I was well taken care of and I am sure you will have a great time too. I dont want to spoil the fun time I had learning about Vesper so I encourage you to witness it yourself!
This establishment changed owners in the last year and they refused to honor a coupon in a Philadelphia dining book. This is not the same place the previous reviewers are describing. The food is just regular bar fare.
Dont let the 4.2 fool you... this place is top shelf! The service and food at Vesper made this 5 star review not only much deserved by the Vesper crew but a must! My fiancé and I had an overnight layover in Philly and decided to drop in on a whim for some late night food. Before we even arrived, we called ahead to make the sure the kitchen would be open. Jeanette (who makes a mean cocktail by the way) answered the phone promptly. Score! Kitchen closed at 11pm that night. This speakeasy-esque establishment greeted us with a killer oyster service (nope, we arent embarrassed to say we at 2 dozen), a stocked bar, an amazing app & entree menu curated by chef Corey (who is a total sweetheart). He even took the time to walk us through his menu AND make personal recommendations. I had the crabmeat stuffed trout (which was caught the day prior). My fiancé had the bone-in NY strip (he wouldnt stop raving about it). Overall, this place just straight up kicks ass.
The place is awesome, good music if you like HOUSE then go behind the bookcase that opens out to walk downstairs to dance to HOUSE music, DJs Ricko and Tony will keep you jamming on the dance floor, Its also multi leveled for different party atmosphere, I always have a great time there 💃🏽🍷🍻🤯
The waiting staff werent too friendly, we as a party of eight did not feel like we were welcomed. Food menu could be better.
I went out to have a fun night with my friends, and the bartenders were extremely RUDE! I’ve never been spoken to in this manner from anyone in the service industry. It is very clear they do not like their jobs and don’t want to serve people by the way they treat their customers.
We had a great time except the bride of our Bachelorette party kept.getting drinks spilled on her
I did like Vesper. It has a real neat surprise in the basement, BUT their Moscow mule was horrendous. The worst I have ever had and to for the prime price it is not worth it. I hope the bartenders see this because come on! You guys would be ashamed!!!
Cool place. Service could improve a bit. Food runner was more concerned about what the server wrote down vs what was order by the customer. I also asked for a medium burger it came out extremely well done. They also ran out of henny after two drinks.
Manager was very rude. We made reservations for 12pm on a Sunday and we’re not given a table because a party of 20 came in just before us without reservations. No accommodations were made for us & the bartenders laughed at us because we were upset.
Last night, two friends of mine were roofied here, and we were in a private section. When I looked on Yelp, there are signs this might be a common occurrence here. PLEASE BEWARE
I had the worst experience at this place. As I was leaving waiting for my Lyft inside. The guy at the door says you can’t wait and hereyou need to get out cuz I’m trying to get home and close. As im trying to explain to him I’m waiting for my Lyft and its cold outside and I’m by myself he tells me I don’t care I’m trying toGo home and as I’m trying to exit he slams the door quick as one of legs is half way out and slams the door on me. I ask him what is his name and what is the owners name and he rudely says I’m am owner which I know someone as rude and ignorant as him was not. He was an African American male who works the door who needs to be fired. I will be contacting the better business bureau on this place and will not not be returning and would advise no one to visit or spend money at this establishment if they are ok with hiring people that act rude and nasty to the public like that.
I came for the super bowl party from 2 hours away and this place was worth the drive in its self top shelf atmosphere the DJ was great the drinks were served very quickly especially with the crowd being so large the bouncers were great I had one issue with a misunderstanding on a charge and Drew had my issue taken care of in a matter of hours that most businesses would have taken days or weeks I will definitely be traveling down for a weekend trip to the Vespers again
It was OK, the DJ on the 2nd floor was good but the drinks are ridiculous. 3 shots $52
WARNING!!! DO NOT reserve in advanced if you aren’t 100% sure you can go. They are unresponsive via text, phone call, or email. They will never answer you.
Had a good time today want to give a big shout out to are server who did her damn thing Deanna. Thanks again turn up
This place is such a waste of time. They charged me over $1000 for a bottle when they tried to pin a robbery on us but we never did it. Never go to this place again and don’t waste your time here. Staff lies and cheat.
Very loud and crowded with okay music. Their website states complimentary coat check, yet they charge $3... Not fighting to go back any time soon.
Atmosphere and vibe were great (before 10pm at least). However, the food and service left a lot to be desired, especially for the prices.
Fun time but too small for the amount of people they let in. Thank God we had vip.
Waited over two and half hours to get food I understand it can busy at times but just let your guest know about the situation going on
Amazing place, very beautiful, awesome set up. Staff was really cool, drinks were perfect and food was amazing !
Bartenders are rude!!. they play good music but the venue itself is terrible. dont waste your time folks
Very HIP little place in CC.. great music and service... Ive been to the Vesper Poolclub before. Definitely would party here again
Great place for brunch
Good bar and atmosphere, drinks are expensive and some of the people who go are pretentious and stush. Good night out if you catch the right crowd.
Tried to get in with my girlfriend, the guy on the door was really rude and said it was “closed” when there were clearly people come in, and it said it supposed to close at 12am (it was 8:30pm)
Cool atmosphere. Downstairs bartender was awesome. Burlesque show was entertaining as well.

It had great music but the dance floor is insanely crowded
Great Food, Service and a great live blues band and singer the night we were there.
Fantastic drinks and great bar staff... Awesome music on Wednesdays
Great vibe, especially when Philly Jazz Nite Out hosts one of its jazz shows.
It was a very nice day club. Its looks like a night club, once you get inside. I would recommend it.
Worst place ever ... from the drinks poured wrong ... to the band equipment blowing yours out ... to miserable food . You couldnt pay us to go back EVERRRR
Great food, great drinks, and awesome crowd. Pricey but a great time

Trying to get a hold of these people is impossible! No one answers the phone or texts. Very unprofessional!
