Dong Fang Massage & Spa

My husband and I scheduled an hour for a couples massage on his day off. We show up, checked out the front waiting area and just looked at minor details of the first look of the place (first impression). Clock at their waiting area had the wrong time (no big deal) and a lady came out and asked if we had an appointment. We said yes and she laid out two forms for us to fill out at the front desk. Whipped out one pen and left. Ok, still no big deal. I looked around to see if they had another pen to give to my husband so he could fill out the form and managed to find one behind their desk. We fill everything out and then another lady comes out and asks us to pay. Now, I have had many massages throughout my life time and never have I ever been asked to pay first. Right off bat I’m perplexed and ask her why she’s asking for payment if we haven’t been massaged yet and also at this point I’m thinking is this a legit place or is this some kind of scam? We read the reviews before booking the appointment and everything seemed to check out so it was a bit uncomfortable to have to figure this out right before we’re supposed to have a nice relaxing massage. She starts to talk, but her English is not that great so then she goes to the back and starts conversing with the other lady in another language. The other lady comes out and starts to tell us her reason, but I also can barely understand what she’s saying. At this point I’m just getting frustrated and just tell my husband if he just wants to go somewhere else. We left and were beyond frustrated at the whole situation. So definitely not happy with the initial experience and wish that if this was a thing they did (pay first) they would say that at the moment the appointment was booked and not once we are there. Again, I’ve never been asked to do this before at any massage parlor I’ve ever been to so I just thought this was something shady. Too bad they just lost out on our business because of their initial first encounter with us.

Very nice exp - my wife and I did a couples massage. The massage therapists were both very good. The price was reasonable at 140 for an hour for both of us.The reason for 4*s is that they have credit card fees and for my amex they tried to charge 6$ extra for the fees.I wish that businesses would just include the cost of their card processing fees in their price.

We had a couples massage for our anniversary and it was an amazing experience! Although we had a little miscommunication with the scheduling they got us in within a hour and it was WORTH the wait! Thank you again ladies!! We will definitely be back the next time we are in Pompano Beach!

My lower back pain feels 100 percent better since the massage. My husband is in construction and he stated he feels 100 percent better. Very relaxing. Just got a couples massage. After flying and traveling all morning, it was a great spot to relax and unwind our tired muscles to prepare for our fun Miami weekend ahead. I can’t believe this place has more than 1-2 stars. This was one of the most unprofessional and LEAST relaxing massage experiences I’ve ever had.The woman that came to get me at the front spoke almost zero English, made me pay BEFORE the massage service (which I’ve never heard of before), couldn’t explain why she was charging me $63 instead of $60 that is listed (apparently there’s a $3 credit card transaction fee) so we wasted 10 minutes on her speaking into Google Translate to try to explain which didn’t work, so she ended up calling a friend while pushing her phone to my face to translate, which was an extremely frustrating process. Then she brought me to the room, and left me in there alone with just a small sheet not covering my feet for TEN MINUTES. I had an appointment at 5pm, didn’t end up getting the massage until at least 5:20pm. I was cold and confused, and honestly thought I was getting scammed. She didn’t ask if I had a focus areas, used BURNING hot hot rocks that was extremely unpleasant, her phone was on loud and dinged 6 times, she left the door to my massage room OPEN and was talking to the woman outside for about 10 minutes throughout my massage!!!! I mean who does that??? At the end she stood at the door and repeated “tip, tip, tip” which just felt super pushy.All round a very bad experience and I will absolutely not be coming back, nor do I recommend anyone going here.

Coco is excellent! I’ve been experiencing intense pain from cervical stenosis and something going on in my lumbar spine, and I feel very much more comfortable after one visit with Coco. She paid attention to detail and applied many variations of pressure and technique, especially in areas where the entire muscle was knotted. She took care to assess and work into the muscles above and below the problem areas and knew when to give them a break and come back. Before I came in for a massage today (this was my first one here, and my first one in years), I could barely turn or nod my head from the pain. Now I have more range of motion and I’m confident that after a couple more visits, I will feel good as new. Thank you so much for your patience, skill, respectful atmosphere and care.

I booked a couples massage and even after requesting firmer pressure and pointing to the problem spots, she didn’t follow the request and rubbed my back instead of massaging the knots. When we were checking out despite the horrible massage, we tipped $10 and she said “is that all?” We explained we were not happy with the service and that is all. When we tried to exit to the door, she yelled at us saying it should be $30 per person tip.Do not recommend unless you want a horrible massage and to be harassed!

My husband and I have been going to Dong Fang since spring of 2020 when we bought our home in Pompano. We go at least 2x per month and enjoy it so much! It is always clean, professional and welcoming! I am always amazed at how they always no what areas are bothering without having to tell them! Highly recommend!!!!!

Went in for a couples massage. The ladies that helped me and my husband were nice , however we kept getting interrupted because she had to answer the phone and greet people who walk in.Then after the massage, when we tried to leave she stopped us and asked for a tip even though we paid in cash. We gave her $20, $10 for each masseuse. They told us to give them $10 more. We told them we had no ten dollar and they said they have change. I found that rude and unprofessional. That was unnecessary to tell us how much to tip. They are nice but I wouldnt want anyone to get caught offguard like we did.

Felt amazing! Sarah and Jessica did a couples massage for my husband and I. It felt great, I loved the addition of hot stones. They also wiped all the oil that didn’t absorb off at the end which we appreciated. I’ve never liked walking out of a massage feeling greasy all over. Pressure was perfect, overall a great experience.

I hate to post negative reviews. I went for my birthday with my stepmom. We did a couples massage. When we arrived, they wanted payment upfront, which I thought was weird, but we complied. I told them we wouldnt leave the tip until after our massage.The 2 women spoke so little English. We were trying to get a copy of the receipt, and there was no getting through to them.They had no music on. The 2 women kept chatting back and forth to each other... and not quietly at all. (not relaxing) The one who worked on my stepmom left 3 times to answer the phone. The door was left open. My lady took what sounded like a personal phone call for about 7 minutes on her Bluetooth.The actual massage was decent but not consistent between sides of the body. I imagine the massage would be better if they had someone dealing with the admin/phones etc.I would not return :(

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my massage at Dong Fang. I found them on a whim and did the 45 minute deep tissue massage. Sarah was phenomenal! She knew exactly what to do and used the right amount of pressure. The masseuses were very knowledgeable and pleasant. Overall my body felt relaxed and a lot of the tension on my lower back gone.🙏🏾

Just left from an awesome massage. I haven’t had one in a long time and Sora definitely did a great job. I’m very pleased with their service and glad I came across of this location, especially being new in Florida. I don’t understand why anyone would rate this place with less than 5 stars. They’re very professional and nice with great talent. Definitely recommend.

I had a horrible experience here within a span of 10 minutes. I booked appointment 2 days in advance and received a coupon code and confirmation text for my appointment. When I showed up everyone looked at me like they didn’t know who I was or that I even booked an appointment. There was an exchange between employees and then the woman who greeted me called another woman and pushes the phone towards me to begin speaking … the woman on the phone proceeded to tell me that Jessica, who I booked my appointment with, was unavailable. Why confirm my appointment then? She then told me another woman could take my appointment and then they hung up the phone and I sat there waiting and confused. After another minute or so the woman at the counter asked if I had paid already and if I had a coupon. After calling the woman on the phone once again I could hear her on speaker phone screaming about the coupon. All in all I felt extremely uncomfortable and left never to return again. I booked with this place because they had the highest rating in my area but their customer service was absolutely terrible and they need a better system for booking appointments. They tried calling me several times when I left but I will never go back here again.

After a long drive to visit family and friends my neck and back were stiff and sore. The girl an Dong Fang Massage took her time and worked hard on my back and neck. I felt great when leaving. The place is clean and professional. I had no problem communicating with the girl who helped me. Excellent massage, when I am in town I will be back.

Do not come to this place.I came here looking at the reviews and thought to myself wow this place must be amazing . I took my Mom (which also left a review) under the impression I can have her relax since she’s been a bit stressed . This place added more stress to the both of us. HIGHLY unprofessional, HIGHLY rude with constant interruptions by opening and closing the door. She left the door open majority of the time and didn’t place any music to listen to. The door bell kept ringing and all we heard was distant conversations. Mind you, everything that was going on showed that my Mom and I, as paid clients were NOT the priority. When we were about to leave , they were more interested in tip then anything else. Money hungry environment and I will NEVER recommend this place to anyone.AGAIN, DO NOT GO HERE.

Called to confirmed they had room for 4pm, the lady confirmed they did. I even received a text confirmation. Im 7 minutes away and I receive a text canceling the appointment I literally just made. I call and the lady says sorry I made a mistake and hang up... how professional and what a great way to make a reputation for yourself!

I dont know where all these great reviews come from but my daughter surprised me with a massage on Valentines day. It ended up being the worst massage ever received. First of all they dont speak English. My massage got interrupted several times, because she had to greet the people coming in, music on and off and the door wide open. They even ask for tips $10 and up, unprofessional. I wouldnt recommend this place to anyone.

It was our last day in town we were looking for a couples massage. We went in were greeted immediately and lead to our room. Due to Covid other locations were not allowing couples to be in the same room but luckily we were able to be. They worked out kinks and knots; my husband was even snoring at one point. I would recommend this location 110%. The service and price was better than some chain locations we have visited. Enjoy 😊

Very accommodating with my last minute couples appointment. Jessica and Sarah were amazing with just the right amount of pressure. We also had a foot mask which I highly recommend paying the extra $10. We felt so relaxed and plan to return.

Does BEST massage. Yo Yo did my first massage and she was so GOOD requested her again. Once again she did not disappoint. She is extremely nice and did a very professional job. Very clean and organized!! But foot massage was okay! Not the best but not the worst! she did 40 minutes and I paid for 60 minutes so that was bummed. She Did finished with a back massage even though I said foot only. So it was okay.

Probably the worst massage I’ve ever gotten. My ears were burning red after masseuse finished rubbing them super hard. Very painful! And hardly massaged the shoulders or legs, it was basically rubbing oil all over my body, except for my ears! Random! Also kept talking to other lady (we had a couples massage- and other lady was massaging my husband next to me) and leaving to pick up the phone when it rang-not sure if they happened to be understaffed the day we went but I just hated this place/massage. So many other better options in Fort Lauderdale.

Without going into greater detail of the issues, bad experience. Thought the other reviews were guiding me to a good spot, I was wrong. Uncomfortable. The time was not only cut short but also interrupted several times, so I did not get the time I paid for. Despite that issue the masseuse still pressured me for a higher tip at the end even though I had already tipped over 20%!

Sora gives a great massage. I have problems with my lower back and she really worked on my problem. The place is clean and quiet so you can relax. I especially like the hot towel on your face followed by a facial massage. I recommend this place as it’s a good massage for a fair price.

Just got a Massage today here for the first time. I am a big review women Checked reviews and I seen all the reviews on sora and decided to try this location out since it is 5 stars and I was out of the area of my usual place I visit in Cooper city. This was HANDS DOWN the BEST Massage Ive had in my whole life! I told her where the pain was and she focused on those specific areas with the perfect amount of pressure and movements to remove the knots and there was lots of them!As long as Sora is here this will be the only place I go going forward.

First time here at the dong fang spa (funny name 😆).I called to make an appt.for a SCALP massage. Was met by a nice receptionist, who showed me to a nice clean dim private room. Didnt remove a thing except my visor, layed down with a sheet and listen to spa music, pleasant & relaxing. In came Gigi (?) wearing scrubs, mask and gloves and began a great massage, starting with Scalp, neck, a little face, arms, hands, legs and a little back. $38.00 for 40 minutes, well worth it, very relaxing!!!♡

I went in on December 2nd my birthday btw, I just wanted to do a little something for myself. Service was ok, after a while I was able to tell my massage therapist was getting tired, I seen her a few times checking her watch back to back when I was facing upwards for my massage.. when I went to pay, I couldn’t believe I was asked to pay tip! I’m sorry but you don’t ask for tip in any circumstances. For ONE that comes from the customer, it all depends on the service, and that is up to the customer in general. I gave her a $10 tip & can you believe she had the audacity to tell me since I’m only giving 10$ I need to write a good review and give the place 5 stars. I couldn’t believe it! Still can’t. You just never know someone’s financial situation and for you to demand a tip & make such a rude comment after getting a certain amount was so wrong! Maybe if you change your greedy ways and actually earn it you’ll get better service. I was truly disappointed & turned off. I regret coming here for my birthday :(

I went in for lower back pain, I’ve been suffering with this issue since high school and from time to time the pain is unbearable! So I need a massage sometimes and they woman that took care of me was amazing and even went an extra step to apply some cream like icy hot to ease my pain after the massage !

Massage was ok. Will touch your face after having oil all over them from a different portion of the massage. Then at the end they will hit you with “we have an minimum of 20$ tip fee”. Not a very good experience.

Huge disappointment ! To fleeI arrived at the institute for a full body massage at $70 for an hour,after 20 minutes of massage the manager interrupts my treatment with the technician, to tell me that she will not be able to provide the entire treatment but only 30 minutes, because there is an appointment that has just arrived.She leaves me no choice.The lady had massaged my back and in 10 minutes remaining she touched my limbs and told me that it was already finished.No goodwill, no solutions and no excuses. She gives me $20 in change, so I have to pay $50 for 30 minutes of totally shoddy massage.I do not recommend!This is theft
