I had been coming here for about a year pre pandemic and had continued my membership despite massage appointments being impossible to come by. By some stroke of luck I managed to book a massage for last Friday - a receptionist always calls 24 hours before to confirm but this time there was no call. The day of I woke up feeling sick and knew I should cancel - called and called and called, unable to get through. Driving by the next day, I understood why no one picked up - the storefront is completely boarded up.Businesses are getting broken into frequently all over town, and thats awful, but as a business you need to have a plan to communicate with your customers especially when there are appointments involved. If I had taken time off work just to find a boarded up door, I would have been frustrated.I plan to use up my remaining credits somehow and then cancel my membership.
Do NOT go here. I’ve booked 6 massages in the last year and I’ve only gone to 2 because they keep getting canceled at the last minute. If you can’t be a reliable business then don’t be in business. I’ve been delaying writing a review, but last week I had a massage on the schedule for over a month and it got canceled, by an automated email not a phone call, two hours before the appointment. I made plans in my schedule that I couldn’t cancel, what arrangements are you going to make to make up for this?! I emailed the office and called the office several times with no response. I think this location should shut down. It would be best for your customers and employees to find a better place to work. Do not waste your time, money and definitely don’t buy a membership.
The ladies at the front desk were very welcoming and kind. The massage on the other hand was pretty terrible. I didnt want to write a review because I know that sometimes people have rough days and get tired however, I did reach out the store directly and never got even a response or acknowledgement that my experience wasnt great and that is why I am writing a review. I had scheduled a 90 minute massage, the therapist was late to bring me back and only did a 70 minute massage. The massage itself was okay... I had requested firm to deep pressure on my preference sheet and the therapist gave me extremely light pressure and then sometimes semi deep pressure. The masseuse didnt ask once if the pressure was good or not and I figured they are doing their job and will ramp up soon. That never happened and I felt uncomfortable the whole time in the room.What really bothers me is that when I reached out to tell the store about my poor experience I wasnt even acknowledged. I wasnt rude, I didnt ask for a refund and I didnt blow up on them, I just wanted to share my experience and get acknowledged. I have yet to hear from them. I will never go here and I will never recommend this place.RESPONDING TO THE OWNER RESPONSE: I did contact the franchised store directly and was not acknowledged.
So my 1st complaint is that they sent my husband to collections in the middle of the pandemic for his membership which he had canceled nearly a year earlier. They didnt respond to emails or phone messages. They got a new manager who said he was going to refund some of the money and give my husband some massage credits. We still have not been refunded anything.Today, I had a prenatal massage that had been scheduled for weeks. They called 10 minutes before my appointment as Im driving to them to ask me to move my time as they scheduled me with someone who doesnt do prenatal massages. They called several times to confirm my appointment and that it was noted a prenatal massage. While I can understand a slight misunderstanding I literally spoke with several people who confirmed it was a prenatal massage. This is so annoying and unprofessional.
My home clinic closed and after months of trying to get a problem resolved at other clinics, the assistant manager Shaina was amazing! It too her couple of days to get the franchise owner of my home clinics other store to change some stuff so she could properly fix the problem, se made sure to reach out to me daily to update me. I could tell she cared, and it shows. They also have several new therapists and I had no problem scheduling appts out through February. Ive seen TIEN, amd lauren and they are both amazing. The broadway location is by far the best location!!!
The front desk ladies were lovely and very welcoming. It was strange that there was no music playing in the room during the massage. My therapist was sweet but not very communicative. He would press to hard or be too gentle, there was really no in between. His nails were a bit sharp, leaving some light scratches on my neck. He helped release some tension but I dont feel that he understood my body well. He didnt really focus on the knots that I needed to be worked out. It also ended up 10 minutes shy of a full hour.
I scheduled a 90-minute massage, and the voicemail I have confirms that my appointment was for 90 minutes. I got there today, things went great, the massage therapist was lovely, and then she said my time was up. I told her no, I scheduled 90 minutes. She said her info said it was 60 minutes and she had another client coming in. She also said this has happened before with the front desk messing up appointments, so I should talk with them. When I went to the front desk to pay, the lady kept apologizing but said there was nothing she could do. When I got home, I called to speak to a manager. The front desk gal answered, took down my number, and said she’d explain everything and have the manager call me in a few minutes. Nobody has called me. I left more upset than when I came in. I don’t recommend wasting your money here.
I’m really upset that I have to write this review but others should know what they are in for. I visited last Friday 5/17/19 to get a deep tissue massage on my neck and shoulders. My therapist ended up hurting my lower back and it’s been spasming for 3 days. I’ve called to let the office know that I would like to cancel my prepaid 3 months. I’ve called everyday since the injury and they keep giving me the run around. They asked if I wanted to come back in?! I am in disbelief that there is no manager and they need to get corporate GM to approve my refund! Now I have to pay out of pocket to see a chiropractor! Do not come here if you are expecting a professional experience.
I have been unable to get a massage for months. The last massage was cancelled by massage envy and I have been unable to find a time that they are available for the past 4 months. I have called to cancel this membership twice. Both times they said they emailed me the information to cancel, but I received no email. This place used to be good. Now it is a scam.
The front desk ladies were very helpful and sweet.I had the best massage I’ve had in a long time from Andrew. He listened to me and did a custom massage. I left feeling like a million bucks.I would like to see reusable water/tea cups, though. This is Portland! I’ve also been to some locations that have real hand towels in the bathroom and give you a hot towel after to clean off the oil. 1 star off for sustainability
Experienced and professional talent, nice facilities and excellent value.Update: I just had a massage today, and I felt it was sufficiently noteworthy to update my review. I believe massages should be therapeutic, not relaxing. As a result, I often request firm massages. Today, I experienced a new level of therapeutic value. I must have been tense and tight, as my masseuse worked out more knots than an Annies Pretzels employee on overtime. I must have requested the Prisoner Interrogation level of pressure, as I found myself compelled to confess to a crime I didnt commit. My shoulders were getting worked so hard I thought I should have been wearing a leather mask, instead of cloth. So many toxins were worked out of my muscle tissue I had to wear a hazmat suit afterwards. To make sure I receive maximum benefit from the session, Im drinking enough water to receive federal funding. I believe it was worth it, after I get a massage to relax a bit.
I liked the masseuse I had, she was charming and very helpful. She made me feel comfortable and explained the whole process.Though they dont accept spafinder gift cards they have discounts for first time visits. They follow up when you have a booking with them and updates you id you there is any changes.
Liliana gives the most amazing facials. She gives a back facial that it like getting a facial for your face, but on your back.. and it includes a bit of massage. She is so good that I felt include to reactivate my membership.
Im not a person who spends the time to give reviews- that being said I just had such a terrible massage that it needs to be noted. The guy was AWFUL. He was talking about politics (not at all what you want to do while trying to relax) his massage style was sparatic and not fluid at all. He spent a lot of time pushing and not rubbing. I wanted a relaxing massage, and thats what I told him. He was heavy breathing, groaning, loudly yawning and hitting his stool on everything on the room when moving around the table. I am not the kind of person to complain. I have worked a service industry job my while life. It took a lot to complain about my massage when checking out. They were so nice about it! The receptionist comped my massage and scheduled me with someone else next time. I really appreciated how gracious they were. But David was not good. Sorry dude.
My rating just reflects my personal preferences when it comes to massages. I prefer music during my massage, in an environment that I connect with. Unfortunately, the commerciality of MassageEnvy doesn’t suit me as a person. That being said, I did not have a bad experience. The front desk was lovely and jovial, the waiting room was calming with music, and the massage table was heated the entire massage.
Our very first time here. My husband and I came in for a deep tissue couples massage. We were happy with our massages for the most part (my two star rating), however we wanted the main focus to be on our backs and shoulders and it wasnt. Also, we were called back 10 mins after our appt time even with arriving 15 mins early. Our massages ended 10 mins early as well which was disappointing. We were expecting a hour massage and only got a 40 min one. We considered buying a membership before our massages but after we have decided we dont want to go back or purchase one.
Appointment availability for female massuese are next to impossible to find (at any of the locations). I have several hours on my account that I would love to use and of course like clock work, they deduct $60 from my banking account every month. They keep calling me to book an appointment, however, the staff seems very indifferent and non accommodating when I try to schedule an appointment. I have asked to speak to a supervisor (Jena Staub?) with no response or follow up. Horrible!!!!!
Worst “massage” ever. I’ve used message envy and other places many times and I’m always satisfied. But Anthony was absolutely terrible. He spent a majority of the time wiggling me and stretching me and not actually massaging my muscles. Which is disappointing because I really needed a massage.He also wasn’t personable at all. Normally the massage therapist greats themselves and engages in light conversation. Not Anthony, he walked in the waiting room and didn’t even say hi, he just asked “Andrew?” And I said “yes, hello” then he walked away. Fortunately I correctly assumed I was supposed to follow him. And when the massage was over he just said “thanks” and walked away. No recommendations, not “I hope to see you soon”, it was just awkward...The only plus side were the girls at the front desk, they were friendly and understanding. Which is why I rated 2 stars instead of 1.
I just had a massage from David that was very enjoyable. He actually works hard on your muscles to fix them. It wasn’t a fluff massage and I liked it for that reason. Getting to the root of muscle problems is painful but it’s worth it. Speak up if something is too much. He knows what he’s doing and did a wonderful job!
My wife and I had a great experience at this location. The massage was great and therapist were knowledgeable and very professional. We’ll definitely be coming back to this location.
Trying to cancel membership due to lack of appointments. Have been waiting weeks with radio silence. They make it nearly impossible to cancel so think hard before you sign up.
The one massage I had from this place was alright. I’ve had two appointments cancelled at this location and am now canceling my membership. I’m very let down by this location.
Ahhhh. My shoulders were debilitating. Been going for months and I am in great shape now. Tempted to stop. But I would get in bad shape again. Worth every penny and every minute.

Always closed when I come by to pay my dues and are currently boarded up and looks closed permanently. Cant pay dues at any other location because I signed up at this location. Guess they dont want my money. Oh well!
