My new favorite gay bar in SLC! 😍💖It has been an amazing night (even though it’s Monday! 😅). The staff is amazinggg!! 💘💝🎀💕💞I’m absolutely in love with this place 🙂↔️💗💓🌸✨ Shout out to Seth (bartender) who was absolutely amazing and helpful! 💘💝🎀🌸💞I’ll be coming back on Thursday night for karaoke 💖☺️💗🌸
This bar is my new go-to place! The environment and the staff are so welcoming. I have always felt incredibly safe here, everyone looks out for each other here. The staff is absolutely amazing! Great service, fast service and cheap drinks. The bartender, August, Was one of the best bar tenders i have had, my sister and i came on a slow night and he made sure to make us feel welcome, as this was our first time at a gay bar and we were a little nervous- he introduced us to the regulars, gave us a tour of the bar and hung out with us. He told us about events and even asked my opinion about a possible a lesbian event night. The other bar tender named Kevin was also great! He makes the best drinks, if you’re looking for a good cocktail, let Kevin surprise you and you’ll get a tasty drink that’s made by someone who truly loves their job!
I really enjoy meeting up with my pals there and having a few drinks. Because the train station is only a few blocks away, its convenient for me. The establishment needs a thorough cleaning because there is an unpleasant stench near the bar, and the customer service should be improved. The patio is fantastic, but it could use some TLC. One of the DJ small frame is not friendly. Aside from that, its a nice place to meet new people, have fun, and be yourself.
My besties and I came a few weeks ago for drag bingo. We had such a great time and enjoyed the atmosphere! Hoping they can get a few more bartenders hired so they can have a faster service. Thank you for all the fun!
Great drinks at a great price and the location never has incidents. Ive hung out with staff a few times and each one just made me feel better and better.Karaoke on Thursdays and all kinds of events! And the crowd around here is really cool
I love coming here! The drinks are cheap and the people there are friendly. Great place to come and rewind. Being a gay femme man in a straight bar sucks, but here, where I am surrounded by my LGBTQ+ family, I feel at peace. I definitely plan on coming here for a long time. 😃🏳️🌈❤️
Kevin-the only thing you’re good at serving is attitude. Congratulations, you win I’ll never see you again. I didn’t break any laws, your bartender was disrespectful and I simply asked to close out and leave. You however are certainly unprofessional and your original reply to my review shows just that. Nice try trying to change it but any establishment that admits to putting something nefarious in their customers drinks should never be in business. I will post your original response below. Please do better or get out of the business! WOW and liar too never added anything….not sure where you got that from other than telling straight up lies. Good luck with your life though will be more than happy to never see you again!
The classic OG gay bar of SLC. It’s a little ghetto but in all the right ways. Zero judgements, come as you are, chill vibe, crazy cheep drinks, bear night is 🔥🐻🔥
Absolutely love this bar. Such a welcoming vibe and everyone is so kind. August is the best there ever was. Highly recommend coming and feeling like part of the family.
This club is very limited… Not very great for supporting the community…. Absolutely horrible for people from out of state..The manager, or whoever was in charge named Kevin very respectful… seem to really make an effort…. Way more than I can expect in situations like this….. that said it seems like this establishment would rather 100% comply with archaic laws and rules rather than support their community…I can also say amazing wonderful things about the person who work the door as a bouncer, very respectful, great, at describing what the issues were, had a wonderful demeanor…. Both the doorman and Kevin tried to be as mature, respectful and decent as they could even though lacking in accommodations just a tad…However, the Dj needs to find a new job…This person prefers drama and making a scene rather than supporting their community….When someone put a drink down near the DJ booth…. This self-centered person had to draw attention to everything and stop the music to make a big scene not the first time they did that in the night…..No, where is it posted no drinks can be sat down near the DJ…. I suppose this toxic human being, who does not support LGBTQ expects people to be mind readers….Now Utah has some very archaic laws that are not posted anywhere in the club…This is how we know this club is not gonna be the destinations for Queer’s in Salt Lake…A destination place would advertise archaic Salt Lake laws everywhere so no one would be in danger of violating such horrible statutes… major failNot to mention, these type of establishment should be on the forefront of lobby to change these kind of laws not just rolling over on it…But make no mistake. Stay away from the dance floor at this club. Feel very safe with Kevin and the bouncer, but stay away from the dance floor….If you don’t want to have immature, disrespectful, dirty looks rather than respectful adult conversation. Don’t interact with the DJ…..Not to mention, his music was all 30 years old and anyone, including Spotify or Pandora could do just as good of a job without the attitude…There will be more reviews of this Dj and whY to stay away from this establishment throughout the Internet…I’m sorry to Kevin, the bartenders and the door person/bouncer because they did a good job…But they enable this toxic DJ, by not stopping him, not telling to treat people with respect and allowing him to still perform…This is a disservice to Queer people throughout the west, Utah, Salt Lake, and anybody wanting to visit these areas….Apparently we’re here we’re queer get used to. It is not the tune of this establishment. Certainly not the obnoxious Dj….They seem to follow the tune of please don’t make our behavior illegal. We’re happy to roll over and conform to whatever archaic laws Salt Lake and it’s religion decides to push on us….Completely forgetting the fact that in this country, we have a separation of church and state and no city no bar no state should be run by a religious establishment….Pretty disappointing it’s sad that this club is not at the forefront of supporting this community….. and rather helps to oppress the community…If you’re not part of the solution, you are part of the problem, Mr. Dj you’re a big part of the problem….
Cool neighborhood bar. Bar staff is great. Shout out to August and Seth for becoming top-notch bartenders!
First time here and August was taken care of us and the service was AMAZING! Have been back multiple time since and will continue to come back due to August being friendly and very accomadating! Keep up the good work guys!
It was my first time here last Saturday. The parking lot is well lit and I felt safe. The person checking IDs at the door was friendly and welcoming and the bar tender was very nice and helpful when it came to drink selection.I really enjoyed the patio and the ambient lighting out there. The music and DJ were great and the other patrons were friendly also. I’ll be back for sure. I’m glad I found this bar in SLC!
I went here at 9 on a Thursday, and it was karaoke night! Super nice crowd, and the bartenders are awesome! I’m gonna come back on the weekend when it’s a little more lively, but it felt super safe and inclusive!! WLW and MLM, safe for trans and it’s disability accepting/accessible!
A relaxed, judgment-free queer space with no cover charge and the cheapest drinks in SLC. Multiple pool tables & themed nights. The relaxed at atmosphere sets it apart.
Really good prices nice bartenders and fun events (especially fluffparty)
August is amazing! he was very attentive & had such a positive attitude !
Its a great local gay bar that has been around supporting the community for a good while now. The drinks are cheap and I absolutely love Underwear night (every 3rd Saturday of the Month)! Try the Blood of Christ cocktail, its HUGE, sweet, and very red. Ha ha I reccomend dancing to help start up the fun there, the crowd is usually very shy but once they see a few people dancing around they tend to ease up and the place turns into a real gem. 😊
Kevin and the rest of the staff are amazing. This is the kind of place that fosters community. Be kind to them and tip well!
This bar is such a safe space for me and my community/friends. I come here to get away from non accepting stress I feel at home, and they never disappoint. The staff is so amazing and accepting, the drinks are so well priced, this bar is definitely the best lgbtq+ bar I’ve been to. They care about the safety and comfort of all folks and will turn away people who make us feel uncomfortable and unsafe in SECONDS. Amazing staff, amazing owner, amazing environment. Definitely check this bar out. As a transman, this is the ONLY bar I feel truly safe at because the staff and the regulars (family) protect one another and ensure that this is a safe and fun space for ALL of us. Every now and then there may be cockroaches, but the owner has been the best exterminator, any roaches are gone within days. 10/10 would recommend.
First time being here and I like a lot better than sun trapp. It’s quite, it’s chill, the people are great, mature and respectful. I love they’re taste in music. The music is diverse, it’s not your typical pop gay playlist. The only thing I would say they need to remodel their bathroom. The walls are disgusting, and not sure how often they keep it clean.
Disgusting atmosphere. Horrible service and the owner is a distraction for the LGBT community. I wont ever come back and their bar is filled with roaches. I am not surprised by the awful rating on Google. Literally any bar in the area has better reviews and you should heed this warning ⚠️.I am glad that this place is open. It serves a purpose in the community as a magnet for the few dirtbags that love this dumpster fires🔥. Any bar has better management than this one and the reviews reflect this. If you are a dirtbag then this is your bar.Underwear night is the best part of this place but its not worth lowering your energy to the few dirt bags that love dumpster fires 🔥. Everyone loves fires but if you are a good person save yourself and stay away from here..... There are some good people here but its not worth lowering your vibration to fit in..... The owner is heavily involved drama constantly. He feeds off twinks like an energy vampire and gets involved with drama and fake rumors like a cockroach 🪳.Even if you are so desperate to visit this bar DO NOT go into the bathroom! Its like a scene from Saw 👀 🧟♂️ You just want to cut something off in order to get out of there. Even if its a part of your body, you will realize its better to sacrifice a part of yourself and get away then stay another minute. 💯
This is a great place to go to meet new people. The staff was friendly, the patrons were nice, the drinks were great, the bartenders knowledgeable (and not to mention attractive ;) ), the atmosphere was great. Overall, a pleasant experience.Bottom Line: A great place to go for a drink. Would definitely go again. ;)For the one complaining about a cover charge, one: Thats only on Fridays and Saturdays, two: Its just two bucks, well worth it, if you ask me.
Told they didn’t know how to make a lemon drop and then got ignored when asking for something else.
After fighting for rights for love, peace and freedom, your bar disgusts me. Your place is an unsafe space for anyone that doesnt believe in a popular opinion. Your bar singles out people and causes a divide. Your bar projects discrimination at its finest. Everyone has a choice to be what they want, to believe what they want, to love who they want. Your body your choice. Its your privacy. STOP SINGLING PEOPLE OUT FOR BEING DIFFERENT.
I love this place. Good atmosphere, reasonable drink prices. Feels like it could be the gay Cheers. The staff is awesome and the theme nights are great!
Worst DJ ever! He was playing music where no one could dance to,,,long lines at bar was a shame. Took me 30 min just to close out tab. How is this place still open?
Went out on New Years Day to find out they closed early which seems to be a pattern with this bar. Went out a few days ago and closed at 10p.m. What club/bar closes early because their slow? No other bar does this. You can go down the street and all the other bars stay open even if their slow. SunTrapp stays open until closing so I recommend them. 👌Actually you were closed at 12:15a.m. when we arrived. There were 8 of us and have no reason to lie. 😉Your liars and been before when yall closed early. Even had an employee tell me yall close early when not busy, and its recorded. Either have set hours or put a sign up saying we close early when we have nobody. Your welcome.
I could tell this is where the pretty people like to go. Im so sorry that my buddy and I were inconveniencing the bartender on a week night. We walked in and were literally the only people in the joint besides the drunk car to the right almost passe out. The bartender was clearly not wanting to be there. It started to get busier but I guess since we were out of towners, he had more pressing business with people he knew. After about 2 hours the bar got a little busier and everyone went out to the patio, including the bartender. I could have jumped over the bar, gotten my own drink, taken my credit card and left.
Great, low-key, place to grab a few drinks. Came here on a Sunday afternoon for Drag Bingo, which was a lot of fun. Everyone I interacted with was friendly, the vibe was chill and welcoming, and the drinks were well priced.
This is the first time last week that they started charging $5 to get in. They should have it for free still just because Sun Trapp is closed, you don’t need to do this to us as permanent customers. You should be helping us as we help u be in business and not be charging that much all of a sudden. If you want us back, have no charge again! Don’t be greedy!
The absolute kindest staff on the planet and such a fun bar! the manager and whole staff went above and beyond to make sure we had a good time and made it home safely! i would recommend this place to anyone :)
Great place! Snuck a bottle in every time I went so security was below par in their regards, but great place! God bless, burn in hell ♥️
Had a good time playing pool with a good player.Got really pissed having to pay $2 extra to walk in because it was after 9:30 (9:37) with no special event.3 stars on this visit. Normally they get 4 or 5 because they are so friendly.
Went there several times and they were closed during business hours. What bar does this? How do they expect to keep customers? This is not a fun lgbtq+ club. 🤥 I guess they expect regulars to make their rent. Was hoping to have a good time. 👎
My husband and I have been coming here for years, its the friendliest gay bar in all of Utah. Come early for pool, darts, or the TouchTunes jukebox. Be sure to stay late for karaoke every Thursday, First Friday Bear Night, Third Saturday Underwear Night, or Second Friday Leather & Gear Night.
Great place, good drinks that are inexpensive, fun patio. The ownership supports causes in the community and they actually care about community organizations. Patrons are friendly and its a great place to enjoy a weekend evening or a sunny afternoon.
The Vaccine mandate makes me feel protected and makes me feel like they are protecting my community. I appreciate the work that they are doing to make the community a safer place for us to gather. Drinks are fire too
My girlfriends and I went on Bears night, and had a blast. It can be hard being Trans* around SLC, but the atmosphere was so great. We had a great time and loved it so much were going to try Furry night next.
Fake woke vaccine mandates, good luck with your bar, I’ll give another bar $100 tonight. We were fairly regular customers and will never be back/vaxxed.
I applaud you for your vaccine mandate! Without it most people - myself included - wouldnt feel safe right now with over 1,500 daily new infections in Utah and ICU beds at 98.8 % capacity.
Well in Salt Lake City there are three places to go Jam, Green Pig, Try-Angles. The differences. Jam is suuuuuper nice, it venues and its building is fresh. Guys are hot, but conceited. I dont mind cause im a top and everything they say....anyways. Green pig is a great bar, although its more of a sports bar for straight people, but very gay friendly. Try-angles has fantastic prices, hot gay men, and POOL TABLES! i love pool lol. but seriously coming from jam to TA is a pretty good change of pace. I give it a 5 in terms of service, drink price, atmosphere. Except the bathroom...its...dirty. But everything else is great!!!
Love this place! Friendly atmosphere, cute bartenders and staff! Great prices on cocktails and an outside seating area thats heated in the winter! Check it out, youll love it!
I love the vaccine mandate and the music and atmosphere but I hate gendered bathrooms. No bathrooms available here for nonbinary people. I was hoping to avoid that frustration here.
Boppin. Always. Hammy and B-money are incredible. 10/10 karaoke (but don’t come because I like singing lots of songs)
Gendered bathrooms, and theyre gross. But drinks were good and cheap.
Club was closed hour + before closing. (Happens regularly)Five friends and I were going on New Years Day but went to the SunTrapp instead since they stay open during hours instead of this place.
Amazing place!! Everyone is so precious, nice and accepting. As a non binary person I feel truly safe here. Please come down and hang sometime!!!
Bars are more often about the people than the building, and Try-Angles is no exception. I know when I go here, I will find fun people to hang with. This bar also gives back to the community.
The place was ok but the bartender needs to improve on his skills on how to offer drinks to ppl that actually dont have a clue of what type of drinks there are
I love this place! Always fun! Only complaint is the parking lot needs work, but other than that I love it here!!
Worst place ever. Everyone is nice except the DJ.. Good music and when I tried telling him that... He ignored me, shook his head and told me to go away. Dj has no good customer serviceTWO THUMBSDOWNI would put half a star but the computer is being too nice.
Music makes or breaks a club. The DJ is so old that I didnt hear one song from after the 2000s. Admittedly, one or two songs got me dancing, but made for less of a fun evening
I waited over 45 min and a bartender wouldnt even speak to me. I finally asked someone for a drink and they said they couldnt make it. Wow, Ive never had an experience like .that, stay away, worst bar in town .I was just trying to order a vodka water. 🤷♂️
From Chicago here and didnt know liquor laws in the state only run til 1. But had a blast for the hour and a half we did go
They’re vaccine nazis here. They go against the science showing that vaccines don’t stop the spread so why discriminate? It’s just a bunch of dirty old men here anyway. Won’t be missing it.
It seemed cool. Everyone we saw in there looked happy to be there. But it wasnt what we were looking for. People were very laid back and just chatting or playing pool.
I like it here. Staff and bartenders are friendly. Drinks are well priced and the atmosphere is always fun.
Love going here. Very fun to hang out at. Does get a little crowded on the weekends, but its a very social group. Always making new friends.
I think this bar is just fabulous. The owners are great, the drinks are great, and the social aspect is as amazing as ever.
We have between coming to Tryangles for a number of years. We love the place, Gene always makes us feel so welcome. We love you Gene.
Friendly staff, great atmosphere, cheap but delicious drinks, and frequent fun events
Literally the best bar experience I’ve ever had. Staff is super friendly and great vibe ant ambience
Oh my golly gosh, this is the best ever. Great people, great drinks, great staff, great atmosphere! Oh and its super gay!
Lovely place for the event nights with friends.
They have a great atmosphere and very friendly patrons. Wish they had a speaker for music on the patio.
Most unfriendly stingy LGBTQ bar in the valley. Do not go here. Staff hates their life.
My favorite place to chill. Great staff and right next door my favorite barber Daniel at The Shop Traditional Barbers.
Here on a Sunday with friends...four of us...you would think the bartender would be nicer...since we came here to spend money and tip him. Nope.
Cheap drinks, great staff, and a great place of you want to go out for a drink without all the hustle of a club.
The bartenders are always nice and have great service, always a great weekend escape and play some pool with the friendly patrons.
THIS PLACE IS THE BEES KNEESA community hub, good drinks, fun crowd and bitchy (in the best way) service.I love this place.
Clean, friendly, enjoyable atmosphere for the young LGBT and anyone looking for a night of Lights, Music and Drinks.
Its home away from home! The drink are strong, cheap, cold, and the bartenders are welcoming!
Super cold beer! Coldest in town. Jukebox has some good tunes!
Bear Night is amazing with DJ WinwizrdAlso this is the lowest cost drinks in the city!
LOVE that you have a vaccine mandate! Thank you for believing in keeping the community safe!
Great place with friendly locals and some of the cheapest drinks in town :)
Its an ok bar... kinda small but nice just to sit & relax
80s Music and Good drinks! Billar and Karaoke.
The DJ on Saturday pretended he was mixing and had the audacity to walk away and music kept mixing itself haha
Deceivingly large place with big outdoor area. Fun on weekend and very crowded.
Good drinks, nice staff. Jim makes great drinks.
Really chill bar, great patio and awesome staff
I love this place. Excellent service and awesome owner/staff. Best place in SLC
If you like women and steak come Fridays and Saturdays I did.
Dive bar. BUUUUT sometimes youre just looking for the dive bar experience. This would be your place.
Great atmosphere! Its divey, but thats whats great about it!
Only been a couple times but i enjoyed it
Good drinks, nice people, no riff-raff
Dive, not even cute, cover charge even on a dead Friday night.
Try-angles....they should try alcohol. Mixed drinks were pathetic.
Best gay bar in the whole state of Utah
Bigoted and discriminatory here. Do not recommend!
Its a lively place for hanging outs
The best bar in SL, UT!
Almost always a good night
Daniel is super cute
Loved it.
Rude staff
Is being a turd still a thing?
Epic
