I have visited J Spa about 3 times now. This place is excellent. The ladies who work there really know what they are doing. Im used to getting deep tissue massages for the past 5+ years and let me tell you, this place knows what its doing. A 60 min service is about $85 (after the fee they charge for using the card machine). I usually tip another $20 on top and the employees really appreciate it.

Paid $120 for a 90 minutes massage. Lady was real thorough and got in good and deep when she walked on my back, gave a good head massage too. Then time came to tip, website suggested 20% as a decent tip (as theyve had issues with this before), so thats what I was going to give, she then insisted on a 30% tip and went ahead and tapped in on the screen without my say so. Decided not to say anything, but definitely wont be doing business with them again.

Wendy is Amazing! I just got the best massage of my life from her. She was very sweet and strong. And has a great personality as well, made me feel very welcomed. They got my husband and I in today for a 90 minute couples massage for $240(+$5 for using a credit card), going rate where we live in Florida is $210 for a couples 90 minute, whatever. The massage therapists were great but when trying to leave a tip they weren’t satisfied with $20 each, they wanted 30%, $36 tip each for an additional $72. They had an attitude and tried pressuring us to leave more, that’s not how you do business. We already paid for a service, a tip is above and beyond that, not required and should not be expected but appreciated. They’re lucky my husband still gave $40, I was about to walk out and give them nothing, greedy. If they’re making waitress salary I understand living on tips but for a licensed massage therapist I doubt that’s the case, maybe the owner should pay their therapists more so they aren’t pandering clients for a bigger tip. I would never go back after the way they treated us and made us feel and apparently we aren’t the only ones after reading the reviews. As a business owner I’d be reading feedback and changing the way business is done and how to treat a customer.To the owner. NO, that does not clarify anything, every massage company offers deep tissue, you’re the only company ‘requiring’ a 30% tip. Also, not everyone reads every section of a website, I booked over the phone for a 90 min couples massage, not once did I say a deep tissue. You can ‘expect’ whatever tip you want, doesn’t mean you deserve it or should be ungrateful for what tip you receive and treat a customer that way. Amazing experience getting a deep tissue massage from Jenny. I knew from the website and the reviews on here to tip 30% or more for deep tissue. For me, it was worth it. My technician targeted a lot of chronic tightness and pain I have in my shoulders and mid back and quads. Even though Im visiting SLC, I would come here again the next time Im in town. I felt comfortable and safe, everyone was really professional and kind. The facility was calming and very clean. Thanks again!

BEST MASSAGE I’VE EVER HAD! I’m not even kidding … Annie was amazing.I don’t live here … came to Salt Lake City for a conference. My shoulders were so tight and I looked at so many different places, but I’m so grateful I ended up at J Massage.I walked in with so much tension, knots, and pain in my back. I left barely able to walk because I was so relaxed.The price is perfect, but I tipped 50% … not something I can afford, but absolutely what Annie deserved. I wish I could’ve given way more.Thank you, Annie, for a job well done!

Pros: able to schedule on short notice, decent massageCons: they have no change for cash tip. They started late and ended early.Explanation: At the beginning, I asked for change to tip at the end. The receptionist informed me that she had no change and to ask the masseuse... at the end, I said, I need change 2 tens for a twenty. She took the twenty, began arguing with the receptionist, turned back to me and said, I dont have change. I take 20 for tip. I said, No, I want to tip $10 She responded, No, I keep $20. And put the money in her pocket. It was a great way to ruin the relaxation I felt from the massage while getting robbed.

Worst massage place ever! I do not recommend coming here! My regular therapist was not available so decided to do with another one. When I came in, i was asked if how many hours. I told one hour first and if I liked the massage, I will avail the extra 30 minutes for 40 bucks. The receptionist/manager told that should be fine. 1 hour is 80 dollars in their list of services but I payed 85 because according to them I used credit card. Cmon it’s 2024 and everybody is using cards now. I think 5 dollars is too much. But I let it slide and not the main issue.The one hour massage was done but my hands and feet was not massaged. I asked to extend for 30 minutes (additional 40 dollars) not because I liked the massage, but it felt incomplete not massaging my hands and feet. The therapist insisted that she could only do 1 hour. I just told ok and did not ask why.When I was at the counter to pay for the tip, I asked how can I edit the options on the card machine because I wanna pay 20 percent which I am sure is very fair enough. The therapist insisted that I should pay the minimum tip of 20 dollars!I disagreed and told that I will only pay 16 dollars which is 20 percent of 80 dollars. She talked too much and started to raise her tone and eyebrows on me telling massaging is hard to do etc.. I said I totally understand that so I am tipping 20%. Not 0 amount.I told her TIPPING IS VOLUNTARY, NOT MANDATORY and it is not my problem if their salary or commission is not enough. She was disappointed and just printed the receipt for 20% (16 dollars) and walked away from me. I talked to the manager on the phone after.People like this should not be in this kind of business. They want income but they are rude, arrogant, and taking advantage of customers who has no voice to speak up.I agree with all the previous negative comments especially about the TIPPING issue. I live out of state but when I’m here and have time I try to book a massage here with Darin. I found Darin on a whim years ago when I was desperate with low back pain. I walked out feeling like a new person. I might have even cried in relief a little. Darin is absolute magic. He is incredibly intuitive and can read the body well and finds spots that need attention that you haven’t mentioned and then treats them with expert precision and patience.J Massage is very clean. I used their restroom before my appointment and the bathroom was impeccably clean as well as the lounge and rooms.The only odd thing is when I booked online they charged my card for the service 9 days before my appointment. Perhaps they refund if you give them more than 24 hours notice but I kept my appointment so I can’t be certain. I had to sign my receipt before my appointment which I also found interesting but I knew I was in for a good massage so it didn’t bother me. However, I imagine it’s tough running a business these days and they have to protect themselves.**Edit addition: Thank you for clarification J Massage. ✔️

She did work on the spot I needed massaged out, however it was an unusual massage. I’ve had many massages done before, and this masseuse didn’t seem like she knew where tendons, muscle and knots were. She tried to up charge me during the massage while I’msupposed to be relaxing. I declined. Before I left the parlor I tipped 20%, and she asked if I had a credit card or more cash because she wasn’t happy with the tip. I would not return.

Was told my 40 dollar tip wasn’t good enough so they have a lost a customer.Even though we paid 280 for 90 min.If this is the way the owner replied and teaches their worker to act. Don’t go there to spend over 320 for a hour and a half of work just to have them look down on you.The worker took my tip and was staring at it like it wasn’t anything and then told me I need to tip more. How awkward is that?I am in customer service and I would never look down at any client for a tip because anything is appreciated. If I could, you would get a 0 star

This is a place 2 get what is needed. A Great combo reflexology massage. My 4th week N SLC. I am ashamed 2 say I went 2 other places due to the busy schedule n unexpected scheduling I had. J Massage is a Very tasteful, very clean, super elegant. Eva is the hands to see if I may add. Educated, Experienced. There is a language barrier, but once Eva spoke, I know I had to request for her very beautiful presents. Cant put a price on a healthy outcome when u arrive n leave. We went to J Massage after 3 days of skiing and it was well worth it. All 3 of us enjoyed our massage. My masseuse was Erin and she did a great job. It was a great way to end our vacation.

SUPER SKETCHY. I booked a couples massage for my wife and I the night before. The day of, right before the scheduled time, I got an email saying the massage was canceled due to the card on file being stolen. They had contacted the card holder about the charge and canceled it. I booked the massage online with my name, email, and phone number. Funny how they accepted a text from a number that wasnt on file to cancele the massage but when asked for the number that said the card was stolen, they wouldnt answer.

Sadly I am changing my review to one star after being haggled by two different therapists to give a 30% tip because most people do even while I often provide the customary 20% cash tip. In all my 35 years of receiving massages I have never been told I needed to tip more, and this severely impacts the experience. I will not return because tipping is a choice and certainly they can refuse to provide me a massage.

I had two massages with Li Li. Previously never had a thai massage, I was pleasantly surprised. The first time I had her go soft, the second massage, a bit firmer. The payment is upfront. The tip is upfront and if using a credit card, there’s a five dollar fee. I would love to find a masseuse like Li Li where I live. I had some pain in my right mandible from TMJ. After the second massage, she worked the right side of my back and it was gone. It had been pain I had for at least a year and I kept getting progressively worse.

I recently visited a spa that I had booked in advance, arriving on time only to be informed that there were no available therapists to perform the massage at that moment. This resulted in a half-hour wait, which was far from ideal. When I finally received the massage, the experience was mediocre at best.Despite the underwhelming service, I still left a 10% tip as a courtesy. However, I was taken aback when the staff suggested that the tip was insufficient and expected more. Another unusual aspect of this spa was their billing practice. I was required to pay upfront at the time of booking and immediately sign a bill upon entry, agreeing to the payment before receiving any service. Typically, one would expect to sign off on the charges after the service has been rendered and to their satisfaction.Overall, this was a disappointing spa experience, marked by an unexpected wait, average massage, and uncomfortable situation regarding the tip. Additionally, the payment process felt preemptive and contrary to the standard practice of post-service approval.

Very great experience my therapist knew exactly what my body needed to relax and she got rid of my pain Ive never had anyone walk on me to massage but it did the trick I walked in with pain and a migraine and left with no pain and my migraine was gone worth every penny that I paid and she was very welcoming

Weird place, was reading the reviews beforehand about how they pressure you to tip more. Went in for our massage and what seemed like the owner came out as well to pressure us to pay more for a tip. The website clearly says “tip as you like”. Seems like he’s underpaying his employees and demands the clients to pay for it in tips

Terrible massage. The lady did not know what she was doing at all. She consistently elbowed my bones and applied pressure in painful parts of my back, not on muscle but on or near bones. Even after a bad massage, I intended to pay $15 in tips for a $80 massage and the lady demanded that I pay 30% instead. I refused but she continued to insist until I made it clear that I would not pay more.I understand that tips are expected but you should not be bullied into tipping the amount they expect out of you. Poor customer service. I will not be returning and recommend others to look elsewhere.

Oh man, where do I even start? The massage was just okay, and thats being generous. The one upside? They got us in pretty fast, but after that, it went downhill--fast. Absolute Nightmare – AVOID This Place!!!!!!I recently had a really bad experience with this place. From start to finish, it was an absolute disaster, and I feel compelled to share my experience to save others from the same nightmare.To begin with, I booked my appointment well in advance and received confirmation. However, just one hour before my scheduled time, I received a call from them asking to reschedule. Seriously? I had made arrangements and adjusted my schedule to fit this appointment, and they had the audacity to inconvenience me at the last minute without any apology.If that wasnt bad enough, they had already demanded prepayment during the booking process – a practice that should have raised a red flag. Why on earth should customers be required to pay upfront for a service that hasnt been rendered? As if that wasnt insulting enough, they insisted on obtaining my signature before the massage,The real disaster unfolded during the massage itself. The masseuse named Eva left in the middle of the massage, without explanation or apology. I was left lying there, bewildered and furious, wondering if this was some sort of sick joke.Rather than attempting to rectify the situation by sending another professional to continue the massage or offering any form of compensation, the manager simply shrugged off the issue. It was clear they had no interest in customer satisfaction or maintaining any semblance of professionalism.To add insult to injury, when I requested a refund for the botched massage and the overall nightmare of an experience, they flat-out refused. Its unfathomable how a business can take your money, provide absolutely no service, and then have the gall to deny a refund.This place is an absolute disaster. Save yourself the time, money, and frustration – avoid J Massage!!!!

I just went there today. Called at 10:30am and they had availability. When I got there they immediately took me into a room. I didn’t have to wait at all. The massage was AMAZING. I got a 60min massage with cupping. I had a lot of pain on my back. Now I feel sooo much better! I will definitely be making this a monthly thing. Thank you so much for relieving the tension on my back. I feel like a new woman. I wish I got the name of my masseuse but I didn’t. Hopefully she is there again next time. I’m definitely recommending this place to my family!

I love J’s…I never have to wait, I’ve enjoyed the work of many different therapists, the price is right and the location is convenient. The therapists each have their own style, which breaks up monotony, and they are all very polite, professional and great at what they do. The environment is clean and inviting, I highly recommend J’s to everyone that asks me where to go for massage.

Every time me and my boyfriend go here we always get a couples massage and it is always taught tier amazing the last time I went she started with walking on my back and finished with a Swedish massage and I could notell you how amazing I felt after. The place is always very clean and smells amazing they dont talk a lot which is honestly one of the best things we have been to a few places where all they do is talk to each other leave the room walk in the room and it just is not as relaxing. We have made this our top spot for getting massages on top of that they are always really sweet to get you in quickly and are really amazing at doing same day appointments which is hard to find. I take my wife for a massage to this place, and at the end, one of the ladies says and ask for a tip. The way they this lady asked it was very rude and demanding, I understand that in this case the tips are optional and depending how much you like to tip. But this lady’s attitude is so bad and makes feel uncomfortable, never come back! Not recommended place!

Weird experience. I booked just a 30 min couples massage. When I got there, the lady sent me in the wrong room where another couple was already in there naked lol. Also when it comes to the massage, I felt like it was 30 minutes of being… “pressed”? Like i was expecting my knots to be kneaded and more thumb action. I wish I had known, I would have said something in the beginning requesting a different type of massage. But oh well, it was only $60 and they got us in the same day.

Im not sure how to feel about this place. I went there because of all the excellent reviews but found that my experience was supremely disappointing. Firstly, there was no sort of screening or assessment. Any professional massage place I’ve ever been to has you sign something that goes over counter indications for message. That should have been a red flag. Then the person who did my massage asked if I wanted them to focus on a specific area and I did. Well not only did they not focus on the area but they also had no technique whatsoever! So basically I paid $150 (price & tip) to be rubbed down with lotion. 😩 seriously so disappointed! I don’t feel like I had a message at all. Big waste of money. I will say, the place is clean and orderly, hence the two stars.

Jenny and Annie give the best massages I’ve ever had. My body is a wreck. I’ve had so many surgeries from from playing hockey and they help me so much with my pain management. Whenever you call Candy answers and she is so nice and accommodating. Such a welcoming place with the nicest people. I would come here every week if I could. 10/10

Absolutely fantastic! Was in town for a concert, standing around we had some significant pain in our legs and back. I called and they told us to come in asap, taking us in instantly! I loved this place, next time were in town we Will be coming back. They were very respectful of our privacy, the lady was very gentle with me as this was my first time. Incredible service, friendly, and did an excellent job.

Clean and decorated business. Professional lady’s working there. Got two great massages. The cupping helped relax my back and leg muscles. I am not as stiff and tight as I use to be.

Booked a massage for my wife. I prepaid for and scheduled a 90 minute massage. Confirmed via text the day before.When we arrived they had no idea we were coming. I had to pull up the confirmation and receipt in my phone to show them.The lady told my wife that since she was getting a 90 minute massage, she could have some time for free after the massage in the sauna.She gave a 45 minute massage then sent her to the sauna. So we paid for a 90 minute massage and got 45 minutes.The woman used hot stones during the massage. We booked a relaxation massage. No problem about using the stones except she made us pay extra at the end for the massage.Of course she added that charge after the bluntly asked for a tip.My wife said the massage was very nice. But being charged extra for a massage that was hair at long as what we paid for us terrible.I would definitely never book a massage here again.

We were on a cross country trip, so since we’ve been really tired from several hours of driving, we decided to get massage here in Utah. Everywhere is booked out! And we were so happy that this spa have availability on that day! Honestly, this was the BEST massage we ever had in our entire lives (as travelers, we can tell)! I’ve been having neck pain for months and I am really surprised that the masseuse found my triggered point! For real! I didn’t even communicated this with them. We just told them we want couple massage with deep tissue massage and that its! Get 2hrs massage! Worth the money!

I had originally made an appointment with another spa, but when I did my research and checked the reviews I found a lot of negative ones. So I called J Massage and talked with Candy. She was so wonderful in answering all my questions. She was kind and polite. I called back the other spa and canceled to come to this one. I am so grateful that I did!!Ken was my masseuse and he was incredible! He incorporated pressure point relief along with deep tissue. Everything I could want in a great massage. He kept asking to make sure the pressure wasnt too firm as I am a thinner women, but I enjoy deep pressure, so it was fine. Also Candy was exceptionally nice afterwards and went out of her was for me. I was on vacation from New Jersey and I walked from my hotel to get the massage, about a 10 minute walk. Candy was so sweet she even offered me a ride back.Also, I see other people complaining about the credit card fee. That is nothing new on the east coast, with the rising prices of inflation it keeps places competitive and they can keep their services lower. I got a 90 minute massage for $110 plus $5 card fee (which is fair) and Ill tell you in New Jersey or New York that same massage would have been over $200. You get a wonderful deal here and an amazing experience!! Staff is professional and kind and the place is neat and clean. I highly recommend this spa!!

The best massage I have ever received. Super friendly, quick service, and very thorough but gentle massage. Got out knots I didn’t know existed!

When I booked my massage, they charged me a deposit and said that they would charge me the remainder of the massage when I get to the appointment. So I get to the appointment and I tell them I already paid the deposit and they still ran my card for the full amount. They ended up processing a refund, so it wasn’t a huge deal. At the end of the massage, I went to tip them and they asked me to tip them more. I explained to them that my card was charged an additional $75 by mistake, so I wouldn’t be able to give them more of a tip. They were very upset and very rude and continued to argue with me. The whole experience was very uncomfortable and rude. I will never go back here or recommend anybody else.

After a long couple days on the slopes we thought it would be nice to get a massage. Because it was last minute and during a holiday week. A lot of places were booked. We found this place and decided to give it a try. The lady that took our reservation was very nice and accommodating. We booked an 11am slot for two. The facility is tucked back in the corner of a strip mall. Nothing wrong with that I just add it for a reference.Upon arrival we were greeted promptly and politely. Payment was requested immediately. We paid in cash because they pass the credit card processing fee to the customer. They were very polite and asked if we would like separate rooms or the same room. It was not biggie to us but it was nice that they asked. We were shown to a joint room. They also asked if we preferred a male or female. Again it didnt matter to us but I did say I preferred a stronger more sports like massage. We ended up getting a lady and a gentleman. The room was very clean and nice. Fresh linen on the two tables. We disrobed and settled in. They came in promptly and started.The massage was lovely and felt great but it was not the same kind you would get from a more traditional spa. I had the gentleman and my husband had the lady. It was a lot of using the forearms just pushing up and down. He had very strong hand and did work out the soreness that I have felt. However he did not seem have any formal training. There was no working out of the knots. There was no following of the tissue connections and muscle groups. For the most part what he did on one side he did on the other side of the body but it was not always the case and the same technique.When grabbing more supplies (Towels, Oil/Lotion, Ect.) from the credenza it was lout and disruptive. Just banging through the drawers. as this was right next to my head it really threw off my relaxed state. The rest of the massage continued like this throughout.Our 90min massaged finished up. we got dressed and met the therapists at the front desk at 12:20. So if you are keeping track that means our 90min massage consisted of us showing up 11:00 -> check in -> pay -> get shown to room -> undersees and get on table -> Actual massage -> get dressed -> walk to front desk at 12:20That entire processes was less than 90min.The kicker to this was after all of this we tipped our folks 20%it was a 110$ per person.The lady that worked on my husband then stood there with cash in her hand and asked for more tip!! This was also right in front of what i assumed was the owner at the front desk.I would say that if you are considering this as a better value than going to a more traditional spa maybe consider the complete experience. The place was clean and nice. The massage felt lovely and felt good. It just wasnt as professional as you might expect. The ask for additional money on top op the initial cost as well as 20% tip was extremely off putting.

Massage was low-average quality. I paid for a 60 minute 4-hand massage but got a 50 minute massage (so I really lost out on 20 minutes of paid time due to there being 2 people). So that was disappointing. I let the owner know about my experience over text, but didnt hear back, so Im posting this here.I read the reviews about tipping pressure beforehand, so I planned to tip at least 20% and even more if it was really good. But being that it was just average, I tipped about 20% and still got attitudy looks from the massage therapists.

Don’t know what all the complaining is about with the other reviews. But they got me in same day. They were very professional and polite. They didn’t ask for a tip. But I gave 50%For a job well done. Still cheaper than most places. I definitely will be going back. It a 35 min drive for me so that’s saying something.

Darin did some work on me that no one has been able to do, I have been searching for years for someone to relieve my pain. I carry a lot of weight in my shoulders and neck. Conveniently located downtown SLC. They are very accommodating and seem to be able to work you into the schedule quickly if it’s last minute. I have met with Eva. She is more of a deep tissue pressure therapist who does a fantastic job at working through soreness very well and works thoughtfully with/around injuries.

We were able to quickly book a massage here. They had lots of availability and affordable prices! Our massage therapists Annie and Eva were phenomenal and unbelievably strong! My friend and I talked all day about how this was the best massage we had in a long time. Relaxation obtained and mobility restored! 10/10 we recommend!

We loved our massages here. We got the 60-minute massage plus 30 minutes of reflexology (package on their website), but Im not sure it was different from a 90-minute massage. Either way, it felt great.One issue we had was that we booked it in advance, but when we showed up we werent on their calendar. We had to come back a couple hours later, which worked out. I would recommend confirming the booking with name and phone number.

Not gonna lie, I was nervous about coming here for a massage since I wasnt familiar with the area. Hands down one of the best massages Ive had. I do like a lot of pressure during my massages, so keep that in mind. She really dug into my knots and I appreciated that! Friendly and gracious.

My flight was delayed a day and I was able to book a massage same day here. I dont know my massage therapists name but she was excellent. It was super relaxing.Her back massage got into all my tightest spots. She got the pressure just right- firm but not painful. She was also very considerate and asked how I was several times.My only wish was that she would have spent a little less time on the back and a little more time on other parts like hands or neck. I should have spoken up but since it was my first time at this particular place, I wasnt sure how it would go. Might have taken the hot stone massage if I had known.Overall an excellent massage place, highly recommend!

Despite the dramatic reviews, we decided to give this place a chance. My husband and I got a couples massage. The room was clean with fresh linens. The only thing I would suggest for better ambiance is maybe a diffuser with a scent and a little louder music.Our massage therapists were amazing. My husband had a female that used the ceiling poles for a foot pressure massage. I had the gentleman as my massage therapist. Weird and won’t go back. We went for a couples massage. I’ve never had to pay 50% to book and then the balance BEFORE the massage. Then $5 for using a credit card. Then the dude was “careless” with the draping on my wife, which IMO was intentional. My massage was a 6/10. At the end, I tell him to put a tip of $45 on the card—more than 20%. He literally says—let’s just make it an even $50.

Good massage, a little too Intense for me. If you want a good strong, deep massage, this is the place. They can walk on your back too, but not for me lol. The little masseuse had the strongest hands ever. I kept having to remind her, not so hard lol. Maybe I am a sensitive. Super nice, good customer service, clean and welcoming.

Me and my husband came here on our honeymoon for a couples massage. We were greeted by a very funny and friendly woman who checked us in. The building was extremely clean and tidy, I could tell that they have been keeping up with sanitation guidelines. Our room had a large bathroom attached with a shower and soaps for us to use if needed as well. We got to enjoy an hour of full body massaging front and back. The girls were professional and nice. Our room was comfy with relaxing music. The beds were heated and clean. They were able to work out a lot of tension and we left feeling like we floating. Prices were amazing and we are very happy with our massages!

Good customer service 👍🏽 we had a 1 hr massage was more like 48 minutes we where then offered hot stones during the massage she said I would be a better massage we said ok when we where leaving the lady on the front desk asked how we where paying for the hot stones $20 each after paying $70 each for a massage and leaving g a $20 tip to each girl. One of the best couples massages we’ve ever had. J Massage was able to accommodate us on short notice before our flight home. Only 10 mins from SLC Airport. The couples room had fresh linens, nice music, and ambient lighting. The heated tables were a plus after 5 days of skiing. I had Ken who was fantastic - definitely very experienced and knowledgeable about massages. Even did some facial massaging/gauy sha which was great. My husband and I tried cupping for the first time - it’s intense, as are the circles left in our backs but worth a try! We will definitely come back next time we visit SLC.

This is the best massage place in salt lake city UT, amazing deep tissue with skilled staffing that can focus on knots. The staff is amazing, I go at least once or twice a month since I found this place. My body feels amazing, thank you and I look forward to my next session.

Unlike some other reviews, I received no pressure to tip but was so happy with the experience I tipped each $50 on top of what I thought were very reasonable prices.Mia and Sherry made my wife comfortable and above all else, very relaxed. This was my wife and my 3rd couples massage with J Massage. Like the other 2 this one was great. My wife has difficulty finding a masseuse that can give her a hard deep massage. Ken was fantastic and lillian was great. Wendy has done my massage all three times and she also does a great job. J Massage is our go to place when we are in Salt Lake County! We will be back!

Nice place with friendly staff. I was traveling so I was glad that they were able to take me in for a same day appointment. The place was easy to find and inside it was clean and comfortable.Wendy was excellent! She communicated to make sure the pressure was what wanted and focused on my problem areas to help loosen them up. I appreciated the conversation as much as her versatile skill set. When I am in the area again Ill definitely be coming back.

My fiance and I were in town and decided on a whim a few days ago to get a couples massage. We called and they were able to get us in that day. The workers were very nice and helpful, and when it came to the massage itself they did a wonderful job! They made sure along the way that we were happy with the pressure they were using. Left feeling great, and the price was very reasonable. We will definitely be back here the next time we are in town and will be getting a longer session. Very highly recommended!

Not a bad place, my massage was great. My complaints are they seemed a bit disorganized when I got there. I paid for time in the sauna which was fine though its just a small prefabricated one. The whole time I was in there the staff was running around talking loudly. Not very relaxing! Once I got into my massage it quieted down. They asked if I wanted more time, which was fine but insisted I paid right there instead of waiting until my session was complete. Overall not a bad experience but also not my best.

Cant recommend going here for any of their services. I had to wait for 20 minutes despite having booked online beforehand. I wanted to tip 10$ afterward and was explained that I should usually tip 50$ or more. I was denied the option of tipping anything less, after which the manager came to the counter and explained that I should at least do 30$... Will never come back.

Mia is awesome. I have had this little knot in my lower back for 6 months since I got in a minor car accident. The first relief Ive felt was after her massage. I started with 60 minutes, but she spent so much time working that area with a deep tissue massage and did such a great job that I switched to 90 so that the final 30 minutes could be more relaxing, which it was! Very therapeutic massage and kind staff. I appreciate this place. The furnishings are nice, new, and comfortable as well.

Friendly and skilled staff. And the deep tissue massage is excellent. I came here with a shoulder tendinitis, and my range of mobility has increased a lot from the massage here. Darin is very well-informed about the musculoskeletal system and always helps relax my sore muscles. Worth every dollar !

I had a massage with Darin that was absolutely life altering. I woke up a week ago unable to turn my head to the right and with an intense pain in the shoulder blade. Not only did Darin release the pain in my shoulder blade but he restored feeling to my fingers I didn’t even know I had lost. Could not recommend a massage here more.

I had a deep tissue massage with Sherry and it was wonderful! My shoulder was so tight and painful. I called and was able to get right in. Sherry is an amazing masseuse and did an amazing job. Ive had a few massages before, but Ive never had such a DEEP tissue massage like this before. Its been three days since my massage and my shoulder feels so much better. I will definitely go back.

Woke up today with tons of knots and tension. Was able to call and make an appointment for 90 minutes later. Parking is easy. The place is quiet, clean, relaxing.I did 90 minutes + hot stones and it was so nice! Exactly what I needed, and the therapist was very kind and helpful. She checked in every so often to make sure I was doing okay and that nothing was too hard or too hot. She did a fantastic job! I forgot to ask her name, though. :(Will definitely be coming back next time I inevitably mess up my back and neck.

I often not giving a bad review because I’m doing businesses too and I totally understand how reviews can affect the business. But this time I really have to do!!I visited this place because I saw many good reviews. We had a couple massages which was JUST OKAY. However, before I left I was asked for giving tips and I actually don’t mind them asking even though I know how system works and also I was thinking to give them at least 20% tips for each one.So, I gave them about 25% tips by cash BUT a girl (I don’t know her name) pressured me to give them more. I was shocked, I went to many spa/massage places and it never happened to me because I always give them a good amount of tips. And this time I already gave them 25% which is good enough to show that I appreciated their service. I asked them are you really ask me more and they didn’t let me go and kept asking me. I was in a rush and didn’t want to create a scene, so I ended up giving them 30%This was very unprofessional and unacceptable by aggressively asking costumer to put more tips. I’m sure there are others many good massage place in Utah. So please think about it before you go!Would give it 0 star if I could!!!

I have never gone to a massage parlor before but it was my first day of my honeymoon and to start it off great we decided to get a couples massage. We were nervous at first but after we were told how it would go we calmed down and we received an amazing massage. I hurt my shoulder at work and they worked it enough were I could finally lift it up and move it around! I swear it was a miracle. We both felt relaxed and we plan to come often! Please dont judge this place from the outside once you go inside its a whole new world! I wish i could give a higher rating!

Professional, clean, good COVID protocol, great value for the price.They got me in on short notice and my masseuse, Michelle, did an amazing job! She payed special attention to my problem areas and found knots that I didn’t even know I had. She was also great at communicating with me to make sure I was comfortable with everything. While the massage itself was great the over all experience was awful. First off the prices advertised on the website are lower than what you’ll pay in store. The website states that a 60 minute massage is $65.00. However, they will charge you $70 when you arrive. They also charge a $5.00 “service fee” to use a credit card. On top of that you have to prepay for the service. After the massaged you are pressured to tip. I did enjoy my message and I said I would tip $10.00, they repeatedly said $15.00. Their reason is that they don’t have a way to charge $10.00 for a tip. It was handled extremely unprofessionally. My experience was totally turned off my the way the financial aspect of it was handled. I would avoid this location and go somewhere with more professional office staff.

Pros: they were able to accommodate a couples massage same day. A little above average massage. Seemed very clean.Cons: they charged me before the massage which I thought was odd. I didn’t know who my masseuse was, he didn’t introduce himself, another odd thing. He left during my massage for like 5 mins during a really sore part of my leg, but didn’t do an extra 5 after to make up for it. That made it so there wasn’t enough time for him to wipe off the massage oil. I’m still oily. Then (and I know there are a lot of reviews about this) I was asked if I wanted to leave a tip on my way out. I tried to leave an amount I thought was appropriate but was pressured into leaving more. It was super unprofessional and not what I would expect from a professional establishment. I might have gone back because he really helped my neck but not after that bizarre tip thing.Maybe add a sign that addresses that you may tip on the way out so people aren’t caught so off guard and left with a bad taste in their mouth. You are driving away your business.

My wife and I got a couple’s massage 2 days in a row here with Ken and Eva. The place is very clean and the staff is very accommodating. We had no trouble getting an appointment. The massages were so good!! We will definitely be back!!

If you choose to get a massage here just know that you will end up paying 10-20% over the menu price. The massage was great, and for what the listed price on the website was (which we were charged before the service) it was a great value. But after the massage was complete, as we were walking out, they asked how we would like to tip. Id never run into this practice of tipping after the fact as a separate charge and was caught a little off guard. I did think the value of the massage was worth a tip though, so we agreed to tip. They asked how much we would like to tip, and so for a couples massage having two masseurs, we tipped an amount for each masseuse. They then insisted that we tip that total amount to each of them, doubling what we were comfortable paying and saying it was standard. It turned into a haggling experience (over the tip!) that I never want to repeat that soured the rest of the evening. We wont be going back.

100% recommend! We had some time to spare this afternoon and were looking to relax. We called and they were able to get us in pretty quickly. My husband and I went in for a couples massage. I was a bit iffy on the location based on the reviews but we gave it a try anyway. I am soooo glad we did!!! I didnt get the names of the massage therapists but they were so nice and soooo good at their job! I had the male massage therapist and my husband had the lady therapist and he said she was sooo strong!! Lol my therapist was soooo good. I currently have a lot of knots in my back and he definitely alleviated some of that pain.As far as the tipping I can see why people get weirded out about it because they actually make you pay before you get the massage not after. Luckily, we had some cash so we tipped them cash when we were done :)Give them a try you wont regret it.

Actually their massage technique is totally not bad, unfortunately their customer service and attitude is extremely horrible. First ,if you pay by credit card you need to pay 5 bucks more. At the end of the service, I went to the front desk , they are not happy about the tip and asked is it that all for both of us ?, which made me need to get extra more from my pocket and paid to them. I asked for can I make an appointment next time. Definitely they were not happy about the tip still and they dont want my business ,they grabbed my twenty dolla note and said, you call for reservations . How rude is that. I will never come back anymore nor recommend to anyone.

Amazing couples massage, thorough and nothing but good things to say, can’t wait to come back! much better than other timid and rushed massages from other places in the salt lake valley, treated us so well so we gave a $45 tip!

My wife and I got a couples massage which was okay, but we both felt like they were pushing way too hard, even when we asked them to go softer it was still uncomfortably hard. They didn’t ask about what was hurting, what kind of pain we were having l, or if we have any prior injuries (which would have been helpful for both of us because we both have prior ankle injuries). We both have pretty significant knots in our backs and they would dig their elbows into the knots and roll over all of them in one hard, quick motion, which hurt really bad and was in no way helping the knots go away. At the end of the massage we found out there was a mandatory 20% tip that was not disclosed before the massage. Considering you pay for the massage in advance, you would think they would let you know about something like this before or even just have you tip before the massage considering you don’t have a choice in the matter. Wouldn’t go here again even if it was free.

Mia was awesome, I love the fact they have the set up to walk on your back. And I didnt even have to really tell her what I needed, she knew exactly from the range of motion I had and just how to get to it. I felt totally comfortable even though I usually dont in the business set ups. I usually go to the in home ones to help with anxiety. But it was great.

Thus review is based on Customer service alone because I did not make it to my appointment. I am a truck driver and had made an appointment for 8pm. Sadly I did not make it into salt lake until after 8. It was going to take me about another 30 minutes to arrive there so I called to cancel my appointment. The lady I talked to you on the phone was very professional and understanding and courteous and even offered to stay late and wait for me to arrive. Next time I come through I will be stopping in to see them.

They fit our party of three in pretty quickly (2 in one room, and one in another).The ladies were very professional and it was a good massage. I had Tiffany and she was very nice and did a very good job. The foot massage (ashiatsu?) on the back and legs was really cool!

I had a massage at J massage! Definitely worth every penny, all my problem areas in my back I’ve had for years completely gone! Pain free never felt so good before! Beautiful spa, nice wood flooring, right when you walk in, you’re welcomed with a nice fireplace and a HUGE TV! The best part about this place? They have a sauna! You don’t see a lot of spas here in salt lake with a sauna, definitely a memoriable experience. Will return, very happy customer.

Overall uncomfortable experience.The massage was really great up until the end when the therapist asked that I tip her $20, which made me uncomfortable. Then she was also the person who checked me out. This on top of the $5 card fee. Ive been getting professional massages for years and never had anyone ask me this. Also, a 30% tip is much higher than the recommended 20% for this industry. I saw below that the owner already said they would address this, but apparently has not because it is still happening.

Walls are thin here which may not be a problem if other people are quiet.Biggest issue was the guy standing in the hallway staring at me the whole time I was leaving and paying. Before visiting J Massage I had never pre paid for a massage. This is a requirement according to the manager , because people run out without paying. This seemed a bit suspicious to me, but my wife and I decided to give it a chance anyway.The therapists did a nice job in performing massage. The upsell for hot stone treatment was not very clear and led to frustration when it was time to leave. Suspicious manager demanded twice what the upselling therapist had suggested. Demands for tips were made.Disappointment ensued for all parties involved. Language barriers were definitely a contributing factor.

I had an amazing experience here. Received the most relaxing massage right before my flight, and then realized that I had left all my jewelry in the room. Despite it being holidays and all, they were super helpful mailing them and making sure I got them back. Ill be sure to come back next time

I got a massage from Bella yesterday and it was awesome. My left shoulder has a bunch of issues from a prior snowboarding accident, but Bella spent extra time working on that area and now my shoulder feels better than it has in years. I will definitely be back soon.

My husband & I had a couples massage to celebrate having our baby boy. It was fabulous! We both relaxed & ended up falling asleep. Darin was terrific & included some massage of my abdomen which felt wonderful. We will definitely be back soon.

He knows what hes doing and doesnt hesitate to dig in and really work on problem areas.My neck and upper back have been really tight and in pain for a very long time, and Im ecstatic to find an affordable, knowledgeable, friendly, professional masseuse.Also very important to me: J Massage is very clean, and require masks.

Ask for Darin! He is awesome! Fixing your issues/problem areas as well as feeling relaxed is what youre in for. After my visit, my body feels so rejuvenated. He really focuses on what you need but can also do what you want as well. Its nice to have options. Speaking of options, they also do couple massages as well for a sweet price! You cant go wrong.

I had been looking for a good massage place for some time. After trying a few, I tried J Massage. Glad I did. The moment you walk in, you can tell this place is a cut above. It’s tastefully appointed, and the people are at once welcoming but professional. My massage therapist was excellent. I left feeling great. I’ll be back.

REVISION TO THE BELOW-- they reached out and have offered me another massage, assuring me that my experience is not indicative of the majority of experiences at their business and that they want to ensure they offer good quality service.I recommend getting a massage elsewhere for the following reasons:First, I asked for a deep tissue massage and even pointed to the area on my back that I needed work done, at which point I was told that if I had lots of pain I should be going to a doctor instead. Funny— the doctor told me I needed regular massages.Second, the woman who performed my massage stood on my back, holding herself upright via the wooden poles the descend from the ceiling, and then she proceeded to step along my back, mostly on top of my spine, which I’ve been told numerous times is unsafe. Not only did she risk injuring me by placing her entire body weight on my vertebrae, but she didn’t spend much time digging into the area that I mentioned.Third, she didn’t wait for me to finish changing before she began changing the table spread and tidying up the room, so I didn’t get to enjoy any privacy while putting my clothes back on.Fourth, when I offered a tip at the end, she demanded I pay at least twice that. This is completely unprofessional and inappropriate.

They offer the best couples massage in town. Make sure you ask about the table shower at the end. Perfect way to end the service. Candy is our favorite. She really knows how to work those muscles and remove those knots. Best deep massage Ive ever had! Worth every penny!

On my way out the door, a different person was at the receptionist station. She asked if this was my credit card receipt. I said it was. She said I should leave a bigger tip. I said I tipped what I thought was fair. She said I got a good massage and I should give my masseuse $5 more. I declined to leave anymore money, I already paid more than I was expecting due to the $5 credit card fee. I left very angry. Its too bad, I would have been back but not now.

In town for work and booked a 90 minute massage which was average, but enjoyable after a long day. All was fine until the end when the masseuse complained about the tip I gave her and would would not let up. I travel to SLC regularly, but there is no way in hell Im returning to J Massage.

As an active individual, I spend a great deal of time lifting weights and putting a lot of stress on my body. The massage here is amazing and leaves me feeling rejuvenated. Most importantly, it has been a tremendous help with my back pain. This has been my go to spot every time when I travel to Salt Lake.

I have been to j massage on two occasions. Shorty worked on me the first time, and Candy the second time. Both women were awesome! They definitely knew how to find the knots and worked them out.I am scheduled to see Candy later this afternoon!

I dont want to be overly critical but I also want to share my alarming experience.I sheduled a couples massage for the weekend. The schedule had gotten mixed up, so we had to wait. Thats forgiveable and understandable. Because of it my wife and I were in different rooms. Daren massaged her (she later said it was one of the best massages shes ever had -- way to go Daren!).The room I was in was set up for ashiatsu, but I was expecting an oil massage. The massage therapist came in and climbed on the table. I was not expecting it, and it made me really uncomfortable. I relaxed near the end, but it wasnt what I wanted and kind of killed the relaxing vibe.I would go again, but I will communicate exactly what I want when I do.

The massage was really professional and really good, michelle did an awesome job on my back.BUT, on the way out i left a tip i thought was reasonable and i was agressivly pressured into leaving a bigger amount while the manager told us that they are not making a lot of money in order to make us pay more.Massage was good, costumer service was bad.

This is going to so cliche - but it’s really the best massage I’ve ever had! My husband and I were up in salt lake and decided to try and find a last min massage and this place was able to get us in. Very friendly, but I love that they don’t make you talk and you are just able to relax and enjoy an amazing massage! Most DEF will be coming again when we’re in town! If you’re debating - stop and go here!

Amazing experience! I’m an athlete with lots of aches and pains. After a deep tissue massage, cupping session, and there awesome sauna I felt like a million bucks. The next week I went in for a foot massage and watched the olympics during the massage, then had another cupping session. I have yet to find a massage therapist that can compete with J massage. A+++

Darin is the best. He is a mechanic of the body and is able to make my muscles relax and enable my body to move freely again. He can either make it relaxing or require you to breath through the tough moments to make your body feel better. I highly recommend J Massage. Shorty gave a unbelievable deep tissue massage. My legs and back were extremely sore and tight from skiing. She worked out all the kinks and the next day I felt like new again. This place and Shorty are a hidden gem!!!
