I took my boyfriend here a couple of months ago & now we are both obsessed! We’ve been making two appointments monthly. We love the advanced students! They are so full of knowledge. This place is such a great deal & so professional! We always leave feeling very refreshed & relaxed. It’s hard to get in for appointments though, especially at night. So make sure you book in advance & also I highly recommend adding on the CBD balm (the green one is my personal favorite) or the hot towels! Went last night & my next appointment is in 2 weeks! Can’t wait!
Best massage school ever, I love the teachers and the energy they bring! Megan will always be my favorite teacher.🫡 I highly recommend this school to anyone wanting to get into massage therapy. Please don’t hesitate and start your amazing career with them! Best school ever!
Laura A. was my massage therapist the first time I tried this place, and even though shes still a student I feel shes already mastered the craft. No joke, after our session I was standing upright without effort! I highly recommend to anyone Healing Mountain Massage and Laura A.
5 Stars - Exceptional Experience!Jeremy at Healing Mountain Massage School is outstanding! The prices are very reasonable, and the service is top-notch. Jeremy is skilled, attentive, and professional. The staff are welcoming and knowledgeable, creating a serene environment perfect for relaxation. Highly recommend for exceptional massage therapy at unbeatable prices!
I love this place!! The staff is very friendly and Jeremy W is a great LMT. He asks about any problem areas or areas of focus for the session and listens to any concerns or feedback. Worth the money, and is such a great deal. Much cheaper than other spas for equivalent services. I will continue to visit on a regular basis.
Loved the massage I got by my Licensed Massage Therapist, who was Abby today. She was very professional, made me feel comfortable, and her skills were precise and on point to what I needed for my massage today (a good mix of trigger points were I wanted her to focus, and more gentle massages in other areas).
I had a great experience at Healing Mountain Massage School after a full day of travel from Europe to SLC. I scheduled the 50 minute massage....unsolicited advice is to go for a longer time massage if you can. 50 minutes passed so very quickly. A.J. was my massage therapist and he was personable and used the perfect amount of pressure. He found pressure points that needed work that I didnt even realize were there. I hope to return soon.
I see Jeremy W. who is a licensed therapist and he has helped me immensely with many of the chronic pain issues that I have. He is highly knowledgeable and always attentive to my needs. The students are always amazing too! For the price and service you can’t go wrong, plus I love shopping at the attached crystal shop.
Words cannot express how grateful we were for Healing Mountain Massage. Daniel and Jess were absolutely incredible and very attentive to the needs of our counselors. Each and every person felt rejuvenated and refreshed and it was just what they needed after a week of skiing. The counselors highly recommended that we put massages on the schedule next year - it was certainly a fan favorite!
I recently had the pleasure of receiving a massage from Sabrina at the Healing Mountain Massage School, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience. Despite being a student, Sabrinas level of expertise was astonishing. Not only did she communicate effectively, but her massage skills were also top-notch. As a daily swimmer, my muscles were in desperate need of relief, and Sabrina delivered just that. After the session, I felt rejuvenated and much better. I highly recommend Sabrina for anyone in need of a fantastic massage experience.
Such an amazing experience! Jill gave a great deep tissue massage. 10/10 would recommend. Amazing school and staff.
Emily C. took such good care of me. Best massage ever! She worked my trouble areas in my neck and shoulders. So relaxing. Looking forward to another visit. Amazing staff!
Jess C. is terrific, perfect massage and great personality! Healing Mountain Massage School is the best in every way!
I personally went to school here & I loved my experience here. From the teachers to clinic to the clients I gained relationships with! The teachers are passionate about what they do, and it shows through their teaching - it made me more excited about each modality and the possibilities of each. Clinic was wonderful, yes it was 300 hrs, but you can’t buy the experience that gets you. I left school, after doing the HHP program which is even more time in their clinic (I can’t remember how many more exactly) however, leaving the school after graduating I got hired at the Grand America. The time spent in the clinic and in class definitely propelled me into a genuine career, even allowing me to have my own successful practice on the side. I would highly recommend Healing Mountain to anyone who is genuine about their desire to have any career with Massage Therapy. My husband even went through the 900 hour course after I graduated & also had a great experience.
I attended school here and graduated in July of 2023. Since the completion of my schooling I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. The staff, the teachers, the facilities were all top notch and exceeded my expectations. I felt completely supported through my schooling process. I often times needed help from my instructors and I was never turned away. Healing Mountain sets up their students to be highly sought after once the program is completed. I believe a big part of that is due to the hands on hours that are included in the curriculum. After graduating, I was able to choose from multiple high end employers due to my experience gained with my clinic hours and also the impressive range of education that was provided to me. I highly encourage anybody wanting a career as a massage therapist to enroll in this school. It was a life changing experience.
I was lucky enough that there was availability in Melanies and Krystals schedules this week, and to say I was impressed with their skill and attention to detail would be an understatement! My neck and back have never felt better, I practically floated home after :)Im constantly impressed with the caliber of students that Healing Mountain has, no matter who you book with, youre always in good hands!
Today I got a swedish massage by Jessie, and OML this girl is amazing! I was told it was her first day doing sessions on clients, and I was absolutely blown away by her skills and consideration during our session. I have gotten literally dozens of massages - professional, advanced students, and beginners, and she is by far one of the best Ive ever been to. I have already booked another session with her, and hopefully beyond schooling, I can still keep in contact to continue working with her. Youve got a natural gift for healing bodies, Jessie. 🙂
Had an excellent couples massage experience! Gina I and Jessie were top notch! My wife and I will be back soon!!
Prior to becoming a student at Healing Mountain I was a client for nearly 2 years. The first massage I ever received here I knew one day I would become a student. Massage was a very important part of my healing journey. Every massage I received from Healing Mountain was wonderful. The students get a quality education and it shows in their work . The staff is friendly and knowledgable about the modalities offered to help each person find the type of massage they are looking for.I decided on the 900 hour massage program at Healing Mountain which requires 300 hours of clinic time. At first while attending I thought the clinic hours were excessive. However, now that I am graduated and licensed I am grateful to have had so much experience with clients. I was able to get so much helpful feedback from clients, staff and students. With nearly 3 times the required amount of hands on clinic required by the state I have found myself able to get offered any job I have applied for and have built a steady stream of my own clients as well. I was given a quality education with so much knowledge and am extremely confident in my work. I would highly recommend Healing Mountain Massage School to receive massage and also attend for a successful career.Side note: My partner attended the accelerated program at Myotherapy Massage Collage, this is only a 705 hour program with 100 hours of clinic required. This program is much to fast, leaving no time to absorb the information. The lack of clinic hours does not offer enough time to get feedback and make improvements on body mechanics, flow and confidence. Although Healing Mountain requires more clinic hours than Myotherapy I would strongly advise going with Healing Mountain if you want to build a successful career you can feel confidant about.
It’s been one year since I graduated from HMMS. I personally came from Idaho, driving back and forth 3 hours one way to attend this school. The curriculum was unbeatable. I have been a licensed massage therapist for one year now, running my own business and working souly for myself. Some days it’s hard to believe! I truthfully think that attending HMMS set me apart from other massage therapists in my home town. Between the education they give and the EXTRA clinic hours they require of students, I had enough hands on knowledge and comfort working with the general public to even consider working for myself. The extra clinical hours (almost double what’s required!) gave me the confidence to keep going. By the time I graduated I had a 47% clientele return rate a month. As a student I feel that’s basically unheard of but it gave me the confidence I needed to step out of school and show the world what I was capable of. My clients now give me the most amazing feedback. They typically arrive stating, “I’ve been to so many therapists in this area. I’m trying to find the one who will work for me and I’m not having any luck.” No pressure right 😉 they leave my studio asking when they can rebook! They tell my my technique is unlike anything they’ve ever experienced and their bodies haven’t felt this good ever. I can confidently say I’ve been working on the public for over one and a half years, while I’ve been licensed for one. That extra time to work on the public under the supervision and safety net of the spa and teachers truly set me up to succeed.
My massage with Leela - a first time student - was excellent! As a person who receives bodywork regularly I can confidently say it was a delightful experience and I will booking again! I also did the add on chakra balancing which was a spectacular ending. The facility is wonderful: tranquil, positive and clean. See you soon!
Absolutely amazing service, thank you so much. LGBT+ safe and friendly. Great atmosphere. I feel so relaxed. Thank you.
A great massage at an unbeatable price! Shelby was awesome! She addressed all my problem areas and listened to my requests. I was sorry I couldnt tip her, but that also makes it such a great deal. Thank you... Ill be back!
I like the ambiance and consistently good student massages. Had some trouble with booking and the manager made it right. Great customer service!
Gina was fantastic! She focused exactly where my problem areas were and gave me a lot of great suggestions to help.
First time massage. I have poor sleep posture and my shoulder blades and back were killing me. John did an excellent job, I walked out of there feeling like a stick of butter! He was very professional and skilled. I highly recommend him to anyone needing relief from pain. 💯👍
This is the 2nd time I come to Healing Mountain. The 1st time was not a great experience not because of any issues, but because the person giving me the massage was a little smaller and I needed someone much stronger to hit some areas for my deep tissue massage. As the front desk didnt ask about my experience nor asked about my preferences (which I still think is important) I decided to add a review talking about my experience. Daniel the manager contacted me. He encouraged me to give them a second try and I am glad I did. They arranged a deep tissue massage with Spencer. He was very kind to explain some things about how to keep my muscles in check. His massage was so good I was smiling half the time, I mean in part because of the muscles and knots being hardly pressured but it was super relieving, just what I needed, it was an hour of heaven. I already scheduled a visit for next week. The front desk guys were a little better this time as they sent me a review card online for me to give any feedback. If you are looking for a good and affordable massage place I highly encourage you to come see them. Also tell them if you have any particular needs so they are able to accommodate them. I am sure they will be doing their best for their students and clients.
This place is awesome, it was my first experience anywhere and I would say they didnt disappoint me. I was lil skeptical booking with a student but man I was wrong. Malcolm is experienced, I would say a great student. Please do visit this place. Its good, less expensive and great atmosphere.
The advanced student massages here are such a great deal! I had an awesome deep tissue massage with Ashlin W, and I wish I could have tipped her, but since that’s against the rules I thought I’d give her a shout out here instead :) Super professional and very relaxing atmosphere
Great value! I have been going on a monthly basis for the last 6 months, and it has done wonders for my back. (It was the only outing that I allowed my self during the pandemic.) And, I have been able to get to know the staff and students. They are all very kind and professional. Tally H is an amazing student and has work with me over the months--improving every time! She is incredibly professional and kind and sensitive to my needs. I literally cannot highly enough about her. I have looked for a good massage therapist for years, and I finally found one that I can consistently go to and feel better.
Megan was highly skilled, professional, fixed my lower back pain. Its now been 24 hrs later & my back still doesnt hurt. Also reasonable price & good environment & courteous staff as well. Thanks Healing Mt Massage School!
Before signing up to this school know that the parking is at KFC one light away, they require 300 clinic hours instead of 120 like Myotherapy. Their teachers show up late or no show and it’s your responsibility to come on a Saturday to make up for that no show. They charge you 1,000 for a table that costs $50 Myotherapy waves that fee. You feel like being ripped off or stressed out and overworked? This is the place to be.
Being a graduate from this school I am confident in their ability to provide not only their spa customer’s with a high quality experience, but also their students. They truly care about our education and helping us build a foundation for a lasting career!
What a wonderful experience! The staff were very friendly and kind, and my massage therapist was professional and made sure I was comfortable during my time there. The massage itself was great! I left feeling like a whole new person. I could not recommend Healing Mountain Massage more! A great experience at an affordable price. 10/10 will visit again.
First time coming here and it was so much better than I could have expected. Ive never had a massage before, but the massage I got from Theo the other night was great. They made sure I was comfortable, and had the perfect amount of conversation to check in and make sure everything was feeling good while still letting me relax. You could tell the entire school was taking COVID seriously with temperature checks beforehand and sanitizer available for before and after the massage. Overall, I was really impressed. In fact, we booked a return trip almost immediately to go back in a couple weeks for round two.Highly recommend this place!
Every time I walk in to the building I am immediately put at ease by the atmosphere and the music. Not sure what the complaints about the front desk are, I have never had a bad experience and I am there at least once a week. The staff is friendly and professional, the students and therapists are definitely worth more than the $25-$35/hour you pay. Chris, Arnie, Melissa, Drew, Jared plus dozens of other therapists, and I have never had a bad massage. I know I am not the only regular, I see many familiar customers each time I visit. There have been some major changes, and each one for the better. This place is definitely on of Salt Lakes hidden gems.
Oki was amazing! Respectful, considerate and most important an OUTSTANDING therapist. One of the best and most intuitive massage I have had. Oki gets a 12 out of 10. I was very disappointed that I could not tip. He deserved it.
This massage school program requires you pay many hidden fees throughout your time as a student here, from massage supplies to missed class fines that are not included in your tuition. This ciruculum is heavy on energy work, which is great if that is your cup of tea, but strange considering the administration and teachers are at times very hard to deal with, no good vibes here. It almost seems as though the teachers are unwilling to demonstrate techniques and would rather lecture the entire time while you sit on the floor. They are all about business here, so be ready for a large class size and very little one on one time. Id recommend one of the many other massage schools in the state that dont happen to be located in a part of town where you are very likely to get towed / have your property stolen.
This is THE place to get a massage at a reasonable rate while ensuring very high quality of service! Jacob(student) was very communicative when necessary and made sure to apply as much pressure as I needed.
I had An Amazing Gift!! Katia Was my massage student today. She is Awesome...(better than some Professionals that Ive seen in the the last 34 years!!!) I received the Distressed Package and Was Blessed with Katia Healing Touch!! She truly has and is a Gift!
I’ve been coming here for over a year now and everything about Healing Mountain Massage is amazing. It has a great aura, the staff/students are fantastic, not to mention you can’t beat their rates. Every massage may not be perfect, but remember, you’re going to a SCHOOL where people are learning and doing their best, at an extremely low rate. I’ve also found a bunch of beautiful hidden gems (literally) in their crystal shop.
Highly recommend. I have lived in SLC for 10 years, and have been a patron for the past 6. I really like the consistency of the space; quality service, comfortable ambiance, interesting deals/massages. Ive had several friends go through the school program and have heard only good things. I cant say Ive ever had a bad student massage. Lastly, the reception desk representative is always perfectly on point and really completes the experience!
I would only go here if you have been referred by someone you trust to a specific massage therapist. I went for the first (and only) time and paid for an Advanced Student, thinking it would guarantee a decent experience because they were advanced. Nothing terrible happened but it was the worst massage I had ever had. 50 minutes and nothing even felt good. I definitely didnt feel better after - in fact the entire thing just felt like a waste of time and $35. The massage was awkward and the advanced student was just not good - she was nice but I felt like she had no idea what she was doing. Ive been to other massage schools about a dozen times and never had a bad experience. I wonder if they arent teaching their students well or if she was just an exception. The front receptionist was nice and helpful so I wouldnt say the staff is bad - but my massage was kind of a joke.
My absolute favorite place to go! I have been going to healing mountain for about 4 years and I love it. The front desk is always very nice and give great suggestions based on what you like. I usually just get a Swedish massage and switch between Anthony and Jeremy because theyre so amazing! I have to switch off because they book up fast since theyre so awesome! I moved to Ogden 2 years ago and still drive to Salt Lake just to get a massage. I booked my mom a few years ago and she is also hooked. She lives out of the country now and whenever she knows she is coming for a visit she has me book an appointment for her. The prices are great and I just love the atmosphere and how personable everyone is. Cant wait for my next massage!
I had a massage with Melissa and she did a wonderful job. Healing Mountain is my favorite!
The first time going to the massage school was a pretty decent experience. The student was receptive to my feedback and established good communication with me from the beginning of the appointment. This second visit I had the opposite experience. My appointment was for a deep-tissue massage and I felt like she was just lotioning my skin really well. I asked her several times for more pressure with no improvement. At the receptionist desk they asked me what I wanted to tip - I didnt even want to pay the extra for the deep-tissue! When I asked them for a comment/feedback card they gave me attitude. At that point, I just left.
I graduated from Healing Mountain last year in the Accelerated Program. As an alumni, I wanted to write a brief review of the educational program they have here. This review is for anyone interested in the massage therapy education Healing Mountain offers. I was in a program that was completed in about 9 months (January 2015 to September 2015)Why I liked my experience: Most of the people in management or teaching positions are very talented massage therapists themselves. I love how many different classes I got to participate in. At times I had to take more than 3 different classes a week, I literally was at Healing mountain every single day of the week when I was in their program. They try to immerse you in massage until its all you think about. This was perfect for me, I went here looking for a massage program that would force me to become the best massage therapist I can be. They required about 300 hours of hands on clinical experience. Attendance to all classes and clinical hours was mandatory and you couldnt be absent or late for almost any reason. I specifically looked for a school that demanded that. If you are a potential student, looking for an easy way to get a LMT license, sorry this place is not your answer. This school taught me to become a muscle whisperer.A few things that I have expressed as areas to improve: There were some classes that were (for the sake of time) not covered as well as I would have liked. Its true that there were some instances, due to changes in administration or miscommunication, that teachers did not show up or were late. However, I really loved most of my instructors. And although I liked the structure of the program, they almost had so many rules that was borderline ridiculous at times. You have to be very detailed oriented to manage so many classes at the same time. In such a small school, its a perfect place for a lot of drama (which can sometimes get in the way).In conclusion to this lengthy review.... I loved my experience at Healing Mountain massage school. I felt honored to be taught by such experienced body workers. Theres always more to learn and Im looking forward to attending Healing Mountain again sometime in the future.
I attended Healing Mountain Massage school in Salt Lake City, Utah last year. It was one of the best experiences I have had. The curriculum is a perfect balance of clinical and energetic techniques. The classes are small and your classmates are in your life for a reason. F29! Every teacher there genuinely enjoys being a teacher. They have creative ways to make sure all styles of learning are honored. Their doors are always open. They have a working knowledge of the Massage Therapy field, and they are passionate about body work. This becomes a instantly contagious energy.Going to school for body work was an intense journey for me. You are put in your body and there is so much self healing that occurs. Attending this school truly was like climbing a Healing Mountain. What a climb! It takes a lot of hard work but the view after graduating it amazing and full of infinite , creative possibilities.I am so grateful for the amazing clinic experience. You can earn a paycheck while you get your hours. That is how much they value you there. Your study area is located in the relaxing spa atmosphere making studying a soothing/ fun experience.I am so grateful for every staff member. There were a couple of tough moments and they knew just what to say to encourage me.I felt very prepared to enter the Massage Therapy field immediately after graduating . They supply you with all the tools and resources you need and they are still there for you after you graduate.I am a proud Healing Mountain Graduate! I can recommend this school 100% to any one interested in becoming a Massage Therapist.
Twice we scheduled massages. First time we scheduled a couples massage month in advance they cancelled the morning of the appt. The second time we scheduled two independent massages as they stated it is too difficult to coordinate a couples massage. We scheduled two independent massages one for me one for my wife at the same time 3 weeks in advance. A week prior they contacted us asking to move the appts 30 minutes later in the day. When we could not we cancelled. I would discourage using them for a massage. Scheduling is an important aspect of conducting business. Time off was requested for this and both times it was cancelled at no fault of ours. The school needs to hire better schedulers.
If I could give them more stars, I would!!! We had Healing Mountain come to an event at our Elementary School and everyone was absolutely blown away at their skill. THEY WERE PHENOMENAL. Really. They were on time, did a fantastic job, and were so easy to work with from start to finish. 10/10 DEFINITELY recommend!!! Invite them to your event. You. Will. Not. Be. Disappointed.
Im very active and I needed to recover from soreness. I bought a 50 minute deep muscle massage. I selected a student message therapist to save on money. I felt relaxed and invigorated after. Healing Mountain is a great choice for a skillful massage, with the best prices.
Seriously the best school out there for massage. They are a running day spa so you really get the feel of how working at one feels like. They’re instructors are AMAZING! They provided me with all the tools I needed to become successful in this career. I’m currently running my own private practice and I couldn’t be happier!
They are amazing! Super cheap for the quality of massage and very accommodating. I was 8 minutes late to my last minute appointment and they were really nice about it. Rashal (I think) did a great job and had awesome communication. Will definitely be going back!
5/15/18 UPDATE. When I had a not-so-great massage, the spa manager reached out to me to get some feedback and make things right. I appreciate when businesses do things like this. Its clear that she wanted everyone who comes in to have a good experience, and she was grateful for the feedback regarding this specific massage therapist.-------I dont usually take the time to write online reviews, but when businesses do an exceptional job, its the worth the time to let people know. Healing Mountain is my go to place for massages. I have only used LMTs, not students, but I have literally never had a bad or mediocre massage in my 2-3 years. It seems like everywhere else I go, its hit or miss, and thats for businesses where Im paying $70-$80 for a 60 minute massage. Here, its only for a $40 massage. I never have to feel nervous if the LMTs I usually go to arent available, because even if I get someone new, the massage is great. This is the only way for me to turn off my brain and relax a lot of times.
There is clarification needed with a review signed by a Mike Smith. I am the student Mike Smith who has been an enrolled (soon to graduate March) since July 2015. My experience at Healing Mountain has been nothing short of top drawer. The Administration, Faculty and Staff are second to none in this facility. What a great and grand adventure it has been to be a student at this school. Thank you all from the depths of my soul for your kindness, reassurance, wisdom, care and thoughtfulness. I long to continue to work amongst such a diverse, fantastic bunch of colleagues. If anyone reading this has an issue of any magnitude with Administration, Faculty, Staff of Healing Mountain.....There doors are always open with ears waiting to hear.Michael A. Smith
I went yesterday and had Steven as my massage therapist. I had been in alot of pain and he was able to make alot of progress for a short 50 minute massage. I was not disappointed at all. I will be back to see him next week for an 80 minute! Also, I had a friend coming with me for a massage at the same time and their therapist called out an hour before we had to be there and Healing Mountain made it right by letting us reschedule my friends appt for next week with no charge. This place is professional, clean, amazing results and the staff is so sweet and friendly. Definitely recommend!
I tried leaving this review with the site personally as to not deter future customers. However, I never received a follow up..so here it is. I’ve been here one other time and enjoyed my experience. So if they have any intention of keeping this massage therapist without further customer service training, I advise you to ask for someone else.I came here to get a massage for my birthday and my massage therapist, Andrea, was incredibly unprofessional. She talked loudly, very loudly, the whole time about herself. Asked my advice on her dating life and the dating apps. Without one question about myself. I’m a hairstylist so I’m used to it... but it’s not okay when I’m the client. This is not my first massage, so when she started to massage my feet, I was relieved that it was close to the end... Evidently, she had more questions about herself and instead of finishing the massage like a normal massage therapist or at least taking more time on my feet, she moved back up to my head and with her hands, that still had lotion on them from when she rubbed my FEET, she put them in my HAIR and proceeded to rub my face. Maybe I should have said something or asked her to stop, but I have social anxiety and for some unknown reason didn’t want to hurt her feelings. But as I talked it over with a few of my friends that are professional massage therapists, I’ve just realized she needs to be informed and it needs to change. I wanted a massage to relax. Not to give advice and then go home and wash my hair for the second time that day.
Jennifer and Aly provided amazing, relaxing, therapeutic chair massages to our healthcare team! They were very professional and energetic! The massages were top notch!!!! The nursing team felt rejuvenated and relaxed afterwards, so definitely a huge success! Being on your feet for 10-12+ hours a day is very draining! This was the best gift imaginable!!! I cannot thank you enough!!!
I have been to Healing Mountain Massage School about 6 times and it seems to be hit or miss with who you get. All the massages I have had have been descent, nothing spectacular. Last time I scheduled a 70 minute massage and when I got there they had me down for only a 50 minute and couldnt change it since they were booked. The last time I went I marked down and asked for more attention on my left knee and more time spent on my legs since I had just completed a Marathon. There was no attention to either. Their prices are really great though and the atmosphere is just fine. The massage therapists have all been really nice and friendly.Another time my wife and I went in to get a couples massage that we had rescheduled and I had already paid in advance for the massages. When we got there they didnt have record of our payment. The owner came out to discuss it with us and didnt believe us or have any records to back up that we paid. We said that we had proof that we paid on our bank account. He still didnt believe us so we asked if he had a computer that we could pull up the transaction on our bank account. He let us use one of the computers to pull up our statement and stood right over our shoulder the entire time. We had to ask him to turn around as we entered our account information and to hide our other personal bank information. After we pulled it up he still didnt fully believe us until we showed him more of the statement where it said the Banks Name. It was very uncomfortable and annoying. It was our anniversary date so I didnt want to start anything and just wanted to get a massage with my wife. After 10 minutes of this he finally let us go get our massages.Massages-6 out of 10Management- 2 out of 10
Every massage I have gotten from here has been outstanding, even from the student clinic. You can tell as they progress that they are picking up new things and learning new modalities. They are always accommodating for my needs when I need to reschedule if I give good notice. They really take care of the clients and therapists and students there from what I gather
I want to preface this by saying the past 3 massages I have gotten here have been amazing, but this last one I just got was so bad it turns me off to coming back here. I understand they are massage students so receiving a bad massage is always possible, which is why I always select to get a massage from an advanced student. This girl barely touched my skin the whole time despite the fact I asked about 5 or 6 times for firm pressure. My muscles are still just as tense as when I got there. My requested focus areas were not focused on, she also didnt get to the whole body even though it was what I was supposed to get. Then I got to the receptionist and she asked how it was and I said not that great and her response was oh good! I am pretty sure she didnt even listen to my response. Very disappointed and not sure Ill go back again.
Had a 80min Swedish Massage with Cara M tonight. She did great and really worked out my problem areas. Will definitely go back to see her. Thanks again Cara!
Overall the experience was good. I knew I was getting a new student and they did a good job although it was supposed to be a focused massage on my lower back and they only spent about 4 minutes there, tops and the massage was cut 5 minutes short. The massage was supposed to be 25 minutes long, it was a focused massage after all, therefore those 5 minutes matter.
Very rude front desk staff and in consistent communication regarding cancellation policy. Spa director interrupted me while I was addressing my concern and I could tell she was struggling to being polite and professional but really didn’t care. When I called to asked “if there were any other appts available with Another therapist for the day?” the staff member immediately answered no and it was apparent they clearly didn’t offer or even attempt to check the schedule. I thought this was a bit odd so I checked online there were tons of openings. I called back and mentioned that I saw plenty of openings. It was then they told me that it has to be rescheduled with the same therapist. As a customer it’s not fair to be lied to. I would have been fine with “there are openings for the afternoon, but unfortunately you have to book with the same therapist” when I explained this to the spa director she had an attitude, but I could tell she was struggling to be professional and courteous - it wasn’t genuine. She said she would take this feedback into consideration for future training. Clearly these people don’t care about their customers. I will never come back here.
Massage was outstanding. Jeremy provided a muscle structure lesson as he stretched and relaxed in my upper body. Perfect balance of Therapeutic and relaxation. Space is clean and professional. Can’t wait to return on next trip to slc.
This was my first time going to Healing Mountain, and will be my last. And my experience was so poor, I will steer everyone I know away from ever going here.I paid for a 90 minute massage, which is really an 80 minute massage. I got 70 minutes, which included my changing time, because the student started late but ended on time. I asked specifically on the paper, and told the student more than once, that I was there to have my deep hip rotators worked on (I booked an advanced student for this exact reason), and may have gotten a glance over of the glutes. I got everything else worked, which I didnt ask for. I left the massage in more pain than when I left. When I complained at the front desk that I did not have a good experience, all I was asked for was if I wanted a punch card. Um... no. So I stupidly paid with my VISA instead of Amex. Found out after, when disputing the charge for the abysmally poor service that VISA makes you pay regardless.Healing Mountains response to the dispute said I received an 80-minute massage (I did not), said I requested a Swedish massage (absolutely NOT-- I never get a Swedish), and that I could have told the therapist at any time that I wanted something else. Um... I did. Repeatedly.Horrible experience.
Like people said, it’s hit or miss by therapist. After trying for a long time I’m Salt Lake to find the right massage therapist to visit regularly, I finally found Jeremy W. I’m hesitant to tell the world about him because I always want to be able to easily get into see him, but he is too talented to not brag about. I need a very firm massage and often I can’t get therapists to go deep enough. Jeremy W is not only strong, but he has excellent technique to go to a level of depth that allows the muscle to actually relax and he is great at working with your breath. He is a true professional and one of the best therapists that I’ve ever been to. As a former dancer, I’ve been to my share of therapists over the years.
The staff was great, the receptionist was really nice. I have actually been here a few times and every time I have had no problems. The student massages are actually pretty good considering they only have so much training. The only hiccup I have had is they can get pretty busy. Not their fault though. Cant help that they get a lot of business.
My husband and I came in for a massage and it was amazing. My massage therapist Taylore did exactly was I asked and was so nice and very professional. My husband loved his massage as well. Brandon did an amazing job and made him feel comfortable for being his first massage. Elsie and Koko were so professional and there were so many people up front and they made everything go so smoothly. thanks
Today, I came in on short notice for a 25 minute pre-natal massage, my therapist was a student named Luke. He was very attentive and gave a wonderful much needed massage . Thank you 💗
I went in to get some information on the classes and certificates offered.I was absolutely sold because of the registrar, Andrew Ross.He was pleasant and he really seemed to enjoy being there. He did a wonderful job setting the tone for a peaceful, well-managed environment.Ill probably still go there, but sadly, the young woman who shares Andrews office started contradicting Andrew, as though she were trying to appear to know more that he does.I just dont know now if Id want to commit to be around a negative person like her. It is hard to focus on the things being taught there when one staff member can ruin the mood in an instant.
This is my favorite massage place in SLC! I have always recommended Healing Mountain Massage to my friends and family. Checking in is nice and easy with their kind and soft spoken front desk. I have had many great massages over the years, but the most recent one was hands down the best! Rachell, LMT is amazing! I slept like a baby after weeks of neck pain. Their prices are very affordable, clean environment, and a relaxing atmosphere.
I live in another state and I enjoy coming here to unwind. It is a calm peaceful place. The staff are respectful and meet my needs. I would be surprised if anyone wasnt satisfied. It is up to the client to communicate. These are students in training and they need to read the body as well as listen to their client. Ill be back next week. Yippee!
Remember to consider how much youre paying when you rate. Students are $25 for 50 minutes. If you dont like the variety of skill/technique then you can pay a little more and get an Advanced Student or LMT. Ive used students and Advanced students. Still cheaper than ANY other Ive found (Have found some $25 30 minute massages, but thats just enough to get you starting to relax). This school has the best bang for the buck, period. Yes, sometimes the front desk seems to have some hiccoughs. I never call. I always book online. Never had a problem. Even most of the students Ive seen are better than the pros at 60/hour or more. The point is, I have a bad back and chiropractic is to pricey and rehab through Intermountain isnt helping. I NEED a massage at least once a month just to help keep the spasms down. And Healing Mountain is the best place to do it for the money.
The staff were very helpful in letting me know all of their techniques and what would be a good choice for my problem.
Do not waste your time or money here, at least certainly not with a student. Horrible experience. Didnt get at all what I asked for and still have residual foot pain from an area he would not stop pressing on. It is now a month later and I am starting to wonder if I need to see a doctor about it. Expressed his interest was not even in doing massages but rather in understanding why people walk the way they do. I went in with strong back pain and asked for that to be the focus of my massage, with lots of pressure. He had no idea what he was doing, would not stop rubbing over scars I have that are very personal, and applied next-to-no pressure on my back (even after 3 rounds of me asking for more). He quickly left my back and spent the remainder of time (3/4 of it) on my lower legs and feet (his apparent areas of interest). Went in with high hopes and left with a much emptier pocket, just as intense of back pain, and a newfound pain every time I take a step.
Got a prenatal massage from Victoria, she was great. Awesome massage and she was very good with making sure I was comfortable and relaxed! Definitely wish the school let you tip the students they deserve it!
In the crystal shop the gentleman was so knowledgeable and helpful. He shared his passion for his pieces and gave really great insight. We spent good amounts of money and can tell the stones are worth it just based on the energy within that little shop. Awesome find.
This place really is hit or miss and Ive gotten more misses than hits. Had two massages booked today and just got a call (2 hours prior to the appointment) that one masseuse wasnt in today so they needed to reachedule. Ok, I understand, but this has happened 4 separate times now over the past year. Once it happened two weeks in a row and when I made a fuss about it, a LMT became available and gave the massage. There is no consistency between the students capabilities and the level. I usually go with students and if I get a good one, then stick with that individual as they become advanced. Ive never had a good LMT. Some students are great and others are bad. Most do not target areas you want targeted and you get a pretty generic routine. I feel sorry for the great masseuses Ive had because those individuals should get 5 stars but there have been too many bad ones. The only thing that brings me back is the price. Thats no longer much of a draw and if my next rescheduled appointment isnt good I wont be back.
This place has, on mulltiple occasions, treated me with horrible customer service. The masseuses have been fine, even the students do great. But in terms of customer service policies and management this place should not be in business. Would highly recommend staying away.
Probably one of the best massages I’ve ever had! I wouldn’t have even guessed my therapist was a student. I told her my problem areas and she found places I didn’t even realize have tension. I will definitely be back!!
I have to be honest I was very dissapointed when I went here. I paid more money to get a licensed massage therapist and felt that she did not do a good job at all. Ive been to licensed therapists before at other places that do great massages, however the girl I had at this school wouldnt push hard (I requested firm so that she would push somewhat hard). She would just simply push on areas that I actually wanted massaged, or she would just lean on areas. I asked her to spend more time on a certain area and she really didnt. I was very dissapointed and felt like I did not get my moneys worth at all.
Some of my most treasured and prized possessions have been hand crafted by Aaron Nikola (owner of Healing Mountain Crystals). His work and craftsmanship shine brightly through his delicate works. I would highly recommend anyone who is looking for a beautiful gem or stone of any sort to visit this shop. You will not be disappointed.Much Love-Dane Patricks
Applied to be a student here a in 2016 and was told i dont qualify because i didnt have a diploma or GED. When i asked about their continuing education courses, Colleen told me, “even if you get licensed with another school, we still wont accept you into our program.” What a way to welcome people to your school. Definitely gonna recommend other people go here… 🙄
Harmonie basically saved my life; lower back, temples&jawTmJ, top notch! & as always, HMMS is pleasant, clean, friendly staff, excellent! Thanks!!!!!
Great price, awesome massage! Some of the reviews got me nervous, but I gave it a shot. Im sure students massages could be hit or miss but thats fair with the price. If you go for the advanced therapists you wont be disappointed!
Ive been getting a massage here every month, beacuse its so affordable. I always go to Kelly LMT shes amazing! I love that she respects my time and focusses on the areas that are bothering me. I really dont care for the front desk thou they seem the have something stuck up there butt. But I dont go to see them, so if you can ingnore the rude owner and his front desk team. Then this place is for you.
As an alumni of the school, i am absolutely disgusted with this place. The school does not follow through with commitments and promises, even when thet are in writing. The spa experiencal program has absolutely no compassion and is not willing to work with you as a student. Many times my class would show up and there would be no instructor. The admissions will tell you almost anything to get you to sign up and you are now seeing class sizes rise, which decreases the intimate experience and instruction between the students and teachers. When you are looking for a massage school you dont want to be treated like a child, because you are not, nor do you want to ne hearded through school like cattle. If you are choosing to become a Massage Therapist, remember this school sounds awesome, but they talk a big game and very rarely follow through.
Been here quite a few times and love it.Very professional atmosphere and they always focus right where i tell them.I always have a student work on me because it gives them that extra hour of credit towards being licensed.Highly recommended. Remember to always tip.
The honey-salt scrub followed by a Swedish massage was heavenly. I had Mercedes and Garrick and they were both courteous, friendly, professional, and did outstanding work. Worth every penny and then some. Thanks!!
An amazing spa and school. I have always loved my massages from Healing Mountain. They are always polite and reasonable in prices. Also an amazing crystal shop is attached to it.
I would give it 5 stars but the receptionist girl who checked us in wasn’t very friendly or helpful. It made us feel like just a number. I called back 6 months later to book an appointment for my wife’s birthday and spoke to Kelly. Kelly was awesome and super helpful. I do love this place.
Excellent facility. Excellent students. Excellent services. It is a school so their prices reflect the experience and industry standards. Which is great! I am convinced that regular massages are good for the body mind and soul. The hot rocks are my favorite. 😄
The short of it i complained that the 80 minute massage I purchased that the therapist only worked one area the majority of the time. I complained to the front desk and they said its my fault for not communicating. But in my experience I tell the therapist I want them to focus on an area but they also give me a full body massage. Not going back but I dont think they really care.
Healing Mountain is a great place to get a wonderful massage from well trained students at a great value !
I had a great experience at this massage school. I have a lot of tension from the stress I carry in my shoulders and Rashell really helped me! Will definitely be going back :)
Terribly unprofessional staff. Id sooner pay a homeless man to massage my back with a weedwhacker.I tried calling to reschedule an appointment and was sent to voicemail seven times. SEVEN times. Once is understandable (maybe the receptionist is away from the desk, or maybe all the lines are busy), but SEVEN separate times to voicemail? What kind of business doesnt bother answering the phone during normal business hours? When I tried to go down in person, the address given on google maps is wrong. Finally, I located the place and went inside, where the receptionist explained that it had been very busy, and it was just her at the desk. Of course, that makes it all okay, since being understaffed is a perfectly valid excuse for poor customer service. While she explained this to me the phone rang, and without even looking down she hit the button to send it to voicemail. Absolutely ridiculous. Some hipster stocking shelves in their little crystals and oil shop tried to explain that it was googles fault that their address was wrong, and that theyd tried to fix the address several times. Frankly, I dont give a crap whos fault it is, but the least they could do is update their voicemail greeting with some kind of location data, at the corner of X and Y or something.Part of running a business is making sure 1) your customers can find the place, and 2) answering the damn phone.
Everytime I come I leave happy. I love the crystal shop so much, Aaron is super knowledgeable which I havent experienced in other local shops. I LOVE THE STEAM BATH, its amazing, and the price is great as well.
Absolutely enjoy coming here with my aunt. Sheena is literally heaven sent and is so good at what she does!!! Highly recommend this place and Sheena L, if she’s available.
Devani and Annabelle were amazing!! We had a great massage and enjoyed everything about the service. Thank you so much!!
Great opportunity to get a lower cost massage, and the students are all professional and kind. Looking forward to returning.
Went once and loved the atmosphere. The student masseuse did a great job too with a deep tissue massage. Cant wait to book again.
Jacob did really well and listened very well with my needs
Quite honestly just received the best massage in my entire life from Brandon C. I will 100% be back.
Love this school, Ive felt very at home the entire time Ive been here, if it was a massage it always went very well, if it was a school night I was always excited and if it was for work Im always engaged and happy to be here!!
Staff are friendly and helpful. We got a couples massage and it was wonderful. We got to use our Pass360 app and it gave us a nice discount.
Really love going to Healing Mountain. I always have a great experience and leave feeling as if the work done has made a great impact on my body. I will continue to go back!
