We held our Crawford High 40th Class Reunion here on June 8th and it was perfect. Gary was super easy to work with! Drinks were great the atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for. If you are looking for a cool venue with an awesome vibe, look no more, Glampisphere @ the Air Conditioned Lounge is the spot!!!
We had our high school reunion at the Air Conditioned Lounge. Gary and his staff were incredibly accommodating, responsive, and flexible. We were able to use the caterer of our choice and bring in our own dessert. The mid-century modern decor is fun and classy. My only regret is that the patio area (Glampisphere) has to shut down at 10 p.m. because being able to use both inside and outside spaces was the best for our group of about 115 people. But I highly recommend this venue for medium-sized gatherings.
Really swanky little joint! Came here to see a friend spin some records and had a great time! The lovely bartender was so cheery and I was delighted by her level of service. Will definitely go here again :)
My business partners and I at UpDate Social recently had the pleasure of hosting a speed dating event at Air Condition Lounge, and I couldnt be more thrilled with the experience! The ambiance at Air Conditioned Lounge in North Park is simply perfect for any event, but especially for something as intimate and exciting as speed dating. The décor is chic yet cozy, creating a welcoming atmosphere that helped everyone feel comfortable and at ease. The Glampisphere outdoor patio area was a hit with our guests, offering a stylish setting that truly set the tone for a memorable night. The management team went above and beyond to ensure everything ran smoothly. They were attentive to every detail, from the setup to the timing, allowing us to focus on the participants and the event itself. The service was friendly, efficient, and always with a smile. Our guests couldnt stop raving about how nice the place was set up.Overall, they exceeded my expectations in every way. We’re going to continue to plan our next event here!Thank you, Air Conditioned Lounge, for making our speed dating night an unforgettable experience!
Wonderful venue! We had a high school reunion there with over 100 friends and classmates. They created signature drinks for us that were absolutely delicious. The staff was generous with their time and efforts. Love it!
Fun venue - booked for a private event and it was a great experience. Flexible and accommodating, the team did all they could to make sure things went smoothly and worked easily with our caterer. A gem of a spot to hang out and enjoy some good conversation
Unimpressive exterior, but then you walk inside and... WOW! great staff, cool theme, surprising open air patio in the back.Cool old school James Bond mural on the wall. DJ and some live music.Worth checking out.
Recently worked with this event staff to put on a large event 100+ participants with all sorts of needs, and have to say they were: highly professional, hard working and sweet about it in the moment when the crush started. Highly recommend Gary and his crew. I have put on events for the last 30 years, so I know a little about event facilitation. P
House Music Fridays is a great night at AC Lounge if you looking for a real House Music. Always great vibes, friendly people, pleasant atmosphere and affordable drinks.
Super amazing bartenders. The night we came they were playing house music. I tried their lavender and apple cider drinks and they were amazing. Would come again!!!
We had so much fun here! Totally laid back, very friendly place. The music was wonderful since he played a variety and he was smiling and emitted his fun dancing energy on us. The crowd was all very friendly people too and just there to have a good time. The bartender was very friendly too! I felt like I was at a home party dancing amongst family and friends. This is a great spot if you feel like dancing your heart out without having to put up with obnoxious people.
Was my first time going there. I went with a co-worker and had a blast. Wasnt too crowded music was good though I would have preferred a heavier bass sound, you know the kind that makes your chest vibrate or better yet the kind that you feel head to toe you know the one that blurs your vision that would be awesome. Cant wait to go back
Chill spot, younger crowd but Monday holds it against you if you are aren’t. Local DJ’s normal priced drinks. Worth a stop by.
Hidden Gem in University Heights. Love this spot, always hip and always very chill. From private meeting in the back for a work related meeting, rolling into a stiff drink when the work day is over. A great place to host meetings, private events, Hell, I got Married here!
I didnt love it....I think maybe I was too old to be in there..lol
Nice space but they shouldnt charge $5 cover on dead nights.. It works in their favor that people from outside cant see how empty/crowded it is.
We stayed at the vip section. The customer service is fantastic!! They were super friendly always talking care of out drinks. The best part is that there is no minimum or a fixed price to stay in the VIP section but you need to book it in advance you go to the place.I would only suggest to hire a different dj. They music he played was kind of lame and didn’t make anyone dance.
Small entity. Techno music which is not bad. Older crowd (I would estimate 30yo+) I like that they actually have stools at the bar unlike North Park Tavern and The Office. For a small glass of rum & pineapple it was $7 compared to North Park and The Office which charged $6. Bar service was immediate at entry. Id pick this place if I want to be lowkey.
Place is fun! Bartenders are good, and the layout is simple but efficient. Private area in the back for parties if needed. Parking in the area is a hassle so be prepared for that
The place is a tad on the small side but that just means when the party gets going... everyone is pulled into the fray. Ive been here a couple times and the first time I recall an amazing DJ mashing up old school 80s with house & hip hop beats. Many places in the Northpark area provide more of a social bar scene, so if you are looking for people who just want to dance then I suggest Air Condition be one of the stops you make that night.
Great staff, great drinks from some of the best (Award-winning actually) bartenders/mixologists, and great venue. Recently upgraded their sound system which for me was a very welcome addition and sounds great. They regularly have a variety of different events ranging from Hip-Hop to Latin to EDM - DJs and live bands. Plenty of seating and a decent-sized dance floor. Even has an outdoor area to chill in.
If you like DJs who skip around so much that you dont have a chance to dance to anything, like most, this is not the place for you. The DJs here actually keep a rhythm with their mixes and mix new with classics.
Retro vibe with plenty of seating. Lots of draft beers to choose from as well as full bar. Service is very friendly. Music was on point and had the crowd dancing the night away. Be warned of the bathroom situation though. It has a shared sink when you walk around the corner, and each door has a men’s or women’s sign. They are individual “stalls”. Ladies... Make sure you lock the door or you risk everyone on the dance floor seeing your bits.
Great place to head out for a fun and comfortable night out. I love how the main window can open up to the street, which is super convenient when it is hosting and act during the music festivals. One of the few spots with dancing in the Normal Height/North Park border area (30th & Adams).
Its okay. Ive lived in San Diego for over a decade and have heard about the AC lounge from a lot of people. However, it might have been popping about 10 years ago. Now, there are many other places to go and in my opinion, better options. Thats just me. I find the place to be rather small and nothing special. But locals still love this place for whatever reason. Its not bad, but its not amazing either -- especially if you compare it to other dance clubs in the area.
Think of this as a the neighborhood dive without the gross interior or the ego. Its got a retro yet clean decor and everyone from bartender to patron is both welcoming and fun. Great for a drink and sometimes they have dancing.
Ive spent so many nights at the bar. The bar staff is usually cranky and disinterested, but they also have to deal with people yelling at them for drinks, so I cant fault them too much. They usually have some pretty decent djs as well. Drink prices arent crazy and the cover is cheap.
Stumbled in the other night after many years and its just like how I remember. Theres no place like this one, with the groovy vibe and great drinks. Had a nice time remembering AC lounge almost a decade ago and had a nice time making new memories.
Hipster-esque bar/club keeps it as simple as the name implies. Not much to this place but maybe 5 booths which are first come first served, decent sized bar area and dance floor. Depending on what night you go the DJ can really make or break this spot but I havent been disappointed on any Thursday night.
Unfortunately I need to drop my rating from five to one star. Though I had great times here, including a large birthday celebration, I will not be returning until the owner Gary John Collins rescinds his support for the fringe Save 30th movement that puts peoples lives in danger.
I threw a 40th birthday party here this past weekend for my husband. We actually reserved the new outdoor space, Glamisphere, in the back patio. It was the perfect venue for a Saturday afternoon to relax and hang with friends. Everyone loved the atmosphere and had a great time. Gary was a very helpful host in the planning process and took care of dealing with the catering.. so it was one less thing to worry about. He recommended El Zarape Eatery which was very delicious! Also, shout out to Jill, our bartender, who kept the cocktails flowin and even made sure to hydrate our guests at the perfect time! Lol. Thank you guys, we all had a blast!
I find it ironic with the current state of HVAC in all these new clubs, dance halls, gastropubs, etc that yet again I wound up at AC Lounge. As we all know some of the biggest downfalls of places is their ventilation. Hot, humid, sweaty and not in the good way. All the new clubs have this issue Bang Bang, Fluxx, Voyeur, Bassment, Tipsy Crow, etc. Notice I always end up here. Its never been my plan in all these years to go and check this place out, but each vitis as a fall back to a plan B squared its the Dennys in that regards of the University Heights Scene. AC is not the issue here.I prefer my weeknight meanderings or rendezvous with locals to the weekend rage sessions of the whole Saturday bottle service experience. I dont like coming here with large groups or when its crowded because too often there is no separation of bar and dance floor, plus you have to walk all the way through the floor to get to the bathroom. I like to order my drink and in good form drink elsewhere versus belly up like so many people do and all too often there will be some drunk couple bumping into bar patrons and to me thats unacceptable..I find the drink prices to be cheap like V&T, R&C, etc. Beers are what youll pay for as they do carry drinks like Spaten. The bottle service is pretty reasonable even if the tables are sunken. They dont have all the fancy lighting and machines other places do, but the DJs are apparently local talent I dont recognize, you get the DMV gamut of party animals here so beware on weekends.Service is good as in good bartenders for the basics, dont look for the PP experience from across the street. The bathrooms are a little janky and whats with the weird guy hanging out there. Design is unassuming from the outside, but this is all post big sonic chill days now. Actually coming to PP actually re-acquainted my with AC again after a long lay off of a few years. Its not overly loud, especially at the bar where a conversation can be had. I prefer the crowds of other places, but sometimes the cheap bottle calls to me.If your going to come with a posse, get a booth and bottle, but no need on the much less crowded weeknights. I never quite understood the décor. James Bond wasnt the Double O local.
Very cool vibe! 60s theme to all the decor. Bartenders were awesome and a nice draft selection!
Love the lights the DJ was on point and I met someone special. It’s an intimate setting for a bar and dance floor will be back.
Great place good security very cool vibe I really think they have a good strategy here all staff on the same page !! I was able to go outside smoke a cig with no worries highly recommend Dominick very perfesional gentleman myself and my wife felt very comfortable and happy in the atmosphere great place to go if you like kind people and a positive vibe!! 10/10
The bar itself was nice, polite staff. Lived up to the name. It was nice inside despite the large group of people dancing. I wish the doorman told us what music was playing that night.
Super cool little bar, the conversation pit with James Bond is awesome. Jill is an awesome bar tender, had a fantastic time! Highly recommend ❤
Although the website said they opened at 5pm I told friends to be there by 630 for a surprise birthday party. When we arrived they said there was a private event and we couldnt come in until 9pm
Crowded but in a good way. Happy hour offering may be the cheapest in north park at 3.50 a pint. However, prices rocket up after this so get in early
Nice neighborhood bar. Back patio area is redone and very nice.... relaxing and chill.Thank you to all the staff who made the night.
Lacks dancefloor. The only bummer, because beer, ambiance, and music is the bomb. Otherwise, be strongly forewarned you will be touched, bumped, maybe even accidentally groped.
Came in after happy hour and they let us bring pizza in! There was a DJ playing already and it wasnt even 7 pm yet. Good experience.
Music is always bumping, security professional and service friendly. Clean space, lighting and decor was on point.
Photo booth. Really picks up after 10. Decent place for music if you want to dance. VIP lounges, and bottle service.
Service was amazing! The dj nick was awesome. The music was one of a kind. This is one of the best nights of my life!🥰🥰🌹🌹
Check out the new outside renovation it looks great ... Have had a couple great time there. DJ was good and staff made the night Fun
The staff was great in supporting the American Initiative fund raiser on a day when the lounge is normally closed.
Great spot for house music on Fridays. Thursdays are fun too. Nice crowd and low key.
Intimate and lively. If you love techno and house, come here and dance the night away. No cover before 10!
Great little spot, good music, good vibes. S
The decor is fun, but this place is past its prime. Good spot to stop at, but not an all night kind of place.
I have djed here mamy times great spot
Lounge type environment with semi-regular dancey events. A solid, local choice with my personal affinity for the semi-regular libertine events.
Cozy lil club with good djs, a fun lil dance area with cool light effects the night i was there, and moscow mules.
Love this place. so chill, just the right vibe. great music and the staff is very friendly.
Kind of small, but bar service is very quick. They also have a photo booth.
Nice little local neighborhood nightclub. Good house music on Fridays and good drinks
Favorite spot for music, dancing, and Trivia.
Amazing place, great atmosphere, AWESOME event space!

Always love the AC lounge. They make the place relaxed, comfortable, and fun.
Cool place! Not large, but very cozy with a pile of personality!
I like that they have good music and it is not too pretentious.
House music on Fridays is the best!
Sort of a divey pit. People there were rude. But the music was takin it back to the 90s
Househeads will find their peoples here on Friday nights, danced and never stopped!
$10 for a shot of Patron at happy hour l. Rip off
I didnt love the energy here. It was definitely not a bad experience.
