Happy Head Foot Reflexology and Massage - Downtown

My wife and I got a couples massage. We opted for the 4 Hand Swedish massage for both of us. The hour seems more like 4 hours and you are thoroughly worked over - someone on your lower half and someone above the waist the whole hour. Just amazing! We walked out like limp noodles and would do it again in a heartbeat. Definitely recommend!

I love this place and the massage was so good! Got in the at last minute for an hour Swedish massage with therapist Amanda and she was great, she absolutely knows how to read the body and I can tell she knows what shes doing. The pressure was perfect and she communicated and checked in with me to make sure it was good during the massage. The front desk was very nice and helpful as well. Absolutely loved my massage here and definitely recommend... I will be back for more!

Came in on a whim before a red eye light. Best decision I’ve made all week. I can honestly say that MIA provided the best massage I think I’ve ever had. Extraordinarily gifted! Price and location is convenient and affordable. Very welcoming and atmosphere is what you expect. However, asked for a swedish for couples massage, but felt like it was a deep tissue massage provided by two gentlemen. Instead of feeling refreshed, I came out feeling like I got hit by a truck. Was expecting to relax...but i guess not.

I made a same day appointment and was seen for a Swedish massage. Establishment seemed clean and professional. The rooms had a bit of a weird set-up as they had an built in desk next to the massage bed. The bed was not heated but did have a button I could press if I ever felt unsafe or needed anything from the receptionist. The massage went well except that there were inconsistencies when massaging the opposite body part. For example, I’d get a full massage of one leg and only half the massage and half the time on the other one. Sometimes some of the techniques between body parts were skipped all together. Kinda bummed.Bring cash to leave a tip as they don’t accept tips via card. They do have an on-site ATM for you to pull out cash if needed.

Very clean and has a great relaxing Atmosphere.I don’t like that you can’t tip using your debit card and the massage was way overpriced for the quality of the massage. Good massage but not great. I pay half of what I paid for here in Las Vegas and get a better massage. All in all, for San Diego prices this was a nice establishment.

WOW! AMAZING experience in downtown San Diego. Stopped in as a Walk in and we were accommodated immediately. All staff extremely professional and masseuses were in uniform- a first for me. Luxurious ambience (see photos) and both of our massages were excellent. Ambience is extremely important to me for a massage, and this business owner has put tremendous thought into this, as evidenced by hypnotic soundtrack (soooo relaxing!) And sophisticated decor. There is even complimentary wine in the front lobby. Prices are very reasonable. We paid $58 for a 90 minute clothed massage, that included whole bode massage. The beds were very comfortable and there was no chatting in foreign languages here, interrupting relaxation- which happens at many foot massase places! I was so impressed. Bravo!!

Lady up of front Wednesday5/15/24. Morning. Weird customer service. For example. Ask her for my account, she says No. Then she went bragging about my cell . Didnt ask for my name. I ask for specific treatment and therapist. I got no answer. Kept talking and talking. Didnt take my name. Or said nothing about my account. Weird weirdo.

The place was amazing! I got the Prenatal Massage bc Im pregnant so I was not able to try their complimentary wine but maybe next time Ill be able to. Definitely coming back!

Very nice place. I go to a similar joint in my home state so it was wonderful to find this one while on vaca. The guy who messaged me was so strong, but yet gentle. I booked online which was extremely convenient. The common room was a little noisy, they didn’t shut the door where they fill the buckets and such. But it was a great experience.

I love all the happy head locations. Market street has free wine. Great masseuse. Affordable in many different ranges.

Had a great swedish massage. Probably the best massage Ive had honestly, just make sure to either bring extra cash for tips though the ATM fee is only $1.50. The lady who massaged me was very consistent and thorough and asked about comfort levels. Overall an amazing experience and would highly recommend.

I have had a lot of messages in my life and I do not recommend this place. The lotion they use is gross. The environment appears clean, but there is a language barrier with the therapist assigned to me because the only spoke mandarin. However, there is a button on the bed you lay down on. You can push for assistance. It wasnt comfortable and I couldnt relax. Finally, when it was time to leave, there was this hurry pay and leave energy. Its too bad. Though I tipped. I will not be returning.

Walked in for a 90 min combo, they took me in right away and I was led to a dim and quiet room. Once we established the pressure I was able to take, the massage was wonderful. It’s a perfect blend of eastern and western styles. I was really tight and she really paid attention to those areas without me having to prompt her. She just felt it in my body. Loved my massage and im still relaxed hours later. Thank you!

Dont ever go here, customer service was TRASH. The girl who works at the front desk has such an attitude. They even gave me a male therapist it was so awful. The massage was alright, it felt really unprofessional.

Ive had foot massages all over the world and this was one of the worst. He started by digging his thumbs into a 1 square inch crown of my head for like 10 min (I should have just left then). But that was the end of the thumbs. He then poked my feet with sticks for over 60 min without massaging them at all. Any other hand therapy was open palm just pushing my arms, quads and back. That is not a massage, just an irritating waste of time and money. Zero concept of muscle groups. I went in relaxed and came out angry. Wish I had that 90 minutes of my life back.

Ouch! Not a fan yet.Recently booked a couples Swedish Style relaxation massage (you know, one that incorporates long flowing strokes of light to medium pressure designed to encourage a deep state of bliss) and we were both completely surprised, distracted and uncomfortable by the level of pain endured. We repeatedly stopped masseurs to request they pull back on the deep and hard pressure - and use of elbows - but neither gentlemen appeared to speak english. Perhaps we will try again in the future.

This place is amazing! My sciatic nerve was inflamed and was in severe need of a massage. I did my research and booked immediately! I had the Asian fusion and it really kept the promise that you would walk out feeling like a new person! Thank you so much for the most amazing stretch and massage combined. I was a witness to the experience below. I copied and pasted from the review of the person who had their watch stolen. I am a rideshare driver and my passengers had had their watch, stolen during their massage. When I took them to go back and retrieve it, the employees there claimed that the watch was not there, and they couldn’t help them any further. I watched as my passenger decided to call the police, and suddenly an employee came out with said, watch in hand, claiming they found it in between the dryers. There is no way that was possible, as the watch was sit down on the table with her other jewelry. Very shady… I’m sure they have gotten away with this before.Original post:“These people are thieves !!! Received a massage a month ago here. Aside from the yelling and slamming of doors outside the massage room by their employees that provided a not relaxing atmosphere. The guy massaging was sick and coughing the whole massage. Ironic their intake form asked if we were sick when their employees can massage and provide a service while sick. They guy coughed the entire time and then coughed DIRECTLY onto me. It’s been one month and I have still been battling whatever sickness he gave me and bronchitis now. Will never return here as I also provided feedback and never heard back.

The woman who answered the phone was polite and very professional. They were able to fit me in last minute/day of, and in no way made me feel like it was an inconvenience. Everything was clean and well maintained. The massage I got was in their main room, which was totally fine. Honestly, the beds were farther apart than tables at a restaurant, so I felt very safe. The masseuse kept her mask on the whole time and even though it was a 50 minute massage it felt so much longer.

Receptionist (Owner) was highly accommodating and professional. Asian back and foot massage was amazing. One great room with 10+ bedsfully clothed is how they make it Economically priced. One of the best massages ever had.

I was in San Diego for a conference and decided to get a massage. Happy Head was close to my hotel so I decided to try it out based on the good reviews.Cons: If you have never had an Asian massage before be warned that it uses very deep hard pressure. The man doing my massage did not speak English so when I asked for lighter pressure that it was too hard and was hurting he didn’t understand. The front desk person interpreted for me but the pressure never really let up when he was doing my back and neck. The next day I am still achy and sore from the massage. There is a foot soak (in water) but it starts out warm and comfortable but soon your feet are dangling in cool water which is not very pleasant.There is not an explanation of the full massage; it would have helped if I knew that my full back (and buttocks) were going to be massaged after my legs. This was done fully clothed but the buttocks part was uncomfortable.Pros: the place was clean and neat. The common massage room was quiet was nice music. The price is good for 60 minutes. The leg/foot part was fine. The front desk girl offered me a $5 coupon since I wasn’t happy with the massage hurting. I didn’t take it since I am not local and would not use itOverall for me I wouldn’t return, too sore today to make it a worthwhile experience. If the leg/foot massage was offered on its own without the back/neck and face I might recommend it.

I chose this place on a whim because of the awesome and super convenient scheduling, which included same day options. I was massaged by Jordan and he was excellent. The decor is chic and the front desk staff (especially Ali) are warm and inviting. I can’t recommend this location more highly!

WORST MASSAGE I’VE EVER HAD- Don’t let their swanky lobby fool you, and save your time, money (and sanity) and go elsewhere.The massages my friend and I received at the downtown location of Happy Head was delivered by two individuals who had had a massage once several years ago and were told to recreate the process. There is absolutely no way they have had any training or accreditation. Completely unprofessional (I have gotten 1-2massages/ month for the last 8 years for context) “massage therapists” aside, the we had to ask them to turn the lights down several times in both English and Mandarin, the music was blasting and only broken up by the sounds the automatic paper towel dispenser throughout our massages, and shouting in my ear when the guy giving the massage left in the middle of the appointment. Absolutely atrocious, and even if the location is convenient the service is not. I had to get another massage the following day at a different spa to help overcome the terrible experience here.

Came in to try their $39 1 hour full body and foot massage. It was the best massage I had ever received at any price. I booked a 1 hour deep tissue massage for the next day and it was even better. Best prices I have ever seen at a massage studio. Excellent customer service on the phone at booking and in person from when I arrived until I left. CLEAN! and relaxing, and perfect. I’ll be back.

I was seen here today at 10:15 AM when I first arrived there was a different girl at the front Mexican descent with glasses she was Very short but I get it they were running behind ! Jordan was my masseuse he did not get into the room til 1025 so I was a little upset in the beginning but boy did he make up for it he was absolutely amazing I always go to the point Loma location today was my first time visiting downtown and I’m glad I did he did so great I ended up bringing in him a second tip he was already going back to work so I left it with the receptionist who was a different girl from when I arrived (African American) I did not get her name but she was a whole vibe too!! I love this place Yal.Only reason I did not get five stars is because my appointment was scheduled at 10 they did not open till 1015 which caused me to be there a little later than expected but I would definitely be back absolutely no complaints at all

Fantastic experience! I was very satisfied. I have neck and back stress from my desk job that it really helped. I had John who hit all the spots with the perfect pressure. I had a 90 minute deep tissue. I like it deep! I loved the head and foot massage. Cash only tip, give it directly to your therapist after. There is an ATM on site. My only feedback is I prefer the attached headrest to the hole in the table they had. The pressure gets uncomfortable on my throat. The staff was friendly and helpful. Ill definitely be back since the stress never ends!

So I was looking for a good massage for a good price and boy did Happy feet meet my needs. I made my appt online as recommended per other reviews. I paid using my credit card but stopped at the ATM to get some cash for a tip (also as recommended) Only thing was I didnt have time to break the $20. Once I arrived the Receptionist checked me in and went over the services that they offer in case I decided to try something else besides the Deep Tissue Massage I booked for. I thanked her and told her that the Deep Tissue massage would be good enough for me. She then explained to me the process of how she would be taking me into a private room for My Deep tissue Massage. As she opened the door to the main room There was about 10 massage chairs in a big open room with 2 of them being occupied by customers who were getting there $39 Happy Massage (Which I heard is awesome, but only 30 mins). The receptionist then explained to me that the masseuse would be joining me in my room after I undressed then lay under the 1st sheet on the massage table The Receptionist will offer to break any bills for change to tip your masseuse after your massage your Masseuse will greet you at the front desk with a glass of water, (this is when you tip). The rooms were very clean and the ambience was peaceful, There was soft listening music playing throughout the building with the dim lighting I found it to be very tranquil. My Masseuse came in and proceeded to move my arms above my head and then started in on my shoulders. The massage was a deep tissue massage that was 1 hour long it was worth every darn cent. Ill be back there for another massage before my 7 for 7 offer expires. (get $7 off your next full body massage within 7 days of your 1st visit.

I had a headache and was sore all over from working out and decided to get a massage. This was the first place I called and they fit me in in just an hour after I called. I scheduled a 1 hour Swedish massage and was super impressed. My masseuses name was Wendy and I will definitely request her for next time! She asked me a few times if the pressure was OK and when I told her at one point that it was too hard, she remembered exactly what point I had said that when she was on my other side. I dont get massages super regularly, but Ive been to some upscale places and I can definitely say that Wendy knew what she was doing. Very skilled and professional.There were only two things I didnt like (and I saw other people say the same things in reviews:1. You are not introduced to your massage therapist before the session starts which is a little awkward.2. Half way through the massage, the therapist left the room to wash the lotion off her hands and get warm towels, but did not say anything before leaving. I was confused at first, but I could hear her washing her hands so I figured she was coming back.I can get over these two minor things - especially for the low prices ($48 for 1 hour)! Ill be back!!

I do jiu jitsu just about every day and sometimes need a massage sooo bad. I wish i could give Happy Head more stars. This place is excellent. From the people working the front desk who are always friendly and attentive, to the professionals giving your service. I have 0 complaints.

With my busy schedule I never have time to do anything for myself. One night I finally decided to get a massage. I got the signature Happy Head Massage, and it was the best massage Ive ever had. The location is so nice and clean. They have a way of making you feel eased and relaxed. Afterwards I was able to go home and sleep like a baby. If youre looking to make yourself feel like a million bucks, I recommend Happy Head.

My husband and I decided to get a couple’s massage on a rainy day. I had the 90-minute Asian Fusion treatment and it was probably the best massage I have ever had. Note: I like a very deep tissue massage and receive treatments regularly. I was VERY impressed with the quality, especially for the price.

Absolutely amazing! Went here with my wife while on vacation for our anniversary. Made a 7pm appointment , went by 2 hrs early and they got us in. The staff are extremely nice and professional and the massage was perfect. It was the perfect finish to an awesome vacation and if I lived here Id be back on a bi - weekly schedule!

My wife and I were celebrating our wedding anniversary and all other massage salons were completely booked. Happy Head was very flexible with our scheduling. We booked a 60 minute Swedish massage each and had a private couples room. I would have given 5 stars, but a couple of things did deter me.As previously mentioned in another review, they have wooded slat blinds on the doors, which does allow for a little bit of visibility (we could see people walking outside our room in the hall, so were they able to see us?) The massages were great and relaxing, the masseuses were nice and friendly... However, one other small deterrent from giving 5 stars was that my masseuse farted a couple of times (little loud, luckily no smell). I would highly recommend this place

We had a couples 1hr shoulder and foot massage after a long day of walking around. It was excellent. We had to change our appointment twice due to issues with the ferry from Coronado and they were very accommodating. Highly recommend for the price and value.

Best massage I have ever had, and Ive been getting them for the last 15 years from various places. I had sciatic pains ever since the birth of my son last year and after my Swedish/Thai combo I walked out like a new woman. It was firm yet relaxing and I could not have been happier with the massage therapist. He always asked how I was doing and if the pressure was ok. It always was since he was already so intuitive as to what my ailed body need, but was great that he still asked. Would give 6 stars if I could!!

I have gotten massages for the past 10 years and give Happy Head and especially Chloe a 10 out of 10. The place is very clean and stylish. Chloe gives one of the best deep tissue massages I have ever had. I would highly recommend her to all of my friends. Massage cost $48 and is well worth it.

I love this place! Location is right down the street from Horton Plaza. The facility is clean and very relaxing. The therapists are fantastic! The front desk staff is very friendly. The best part is the prices. You can get the fancy spa experience without having to break the bank.

Sorry to say but by far the worst massage ever. I usually go on Zeel and get regular massages but I had a long drive and I thought I would get a nice massage prior to that. I had an elder lady who could not speak English. She didnt apply any pressure although I asked her to, I did not feel anything, she was just applying lotion, she kept moving around going back and forth to waste time. She did not release any tension, not the slightest knowledge of acupressure nor reflexology. I told her in the beginning and I ask her a few times to apply pressure but she has no idea what shes doing. It just felt like somebody is applying a cheap lotion on you in a very slow motion that was actually aggravating. I thought they do head massage as claimed, she did nothing but move my hair around and press slightly on my scalp. I get more pressure combing my hair.Do not recommend and I doubt theyre even professionally trained. The only good thing about the entire experience was the ladiesat the front desk which is why I didnt get up and leave!

By far the worst masage I ever had! It was supposed to be a relaxing day after a long week of work, I couldnt believe I paid for a uncomfortable painfull massage. First time and last time at this place. Not to mention parking is a hassle and the therapist will hunt you down for a tip..I cant believe I paid $120 to be sore for a week! Never again

Don’t bother making a reservation. Booked for two at 8:30. Arrived and they told us they didn’t “record” properly and the lady was new and that there was only a spot for one left. They did offer a $20 gift card but I would rather have gotten the massage I called in and booked.

If you want true reflexology do NOT go here.We travel to San Diego once a year and got a foot massage a year ago as well, and the experience was similar.The lady massaging my feet was simply rubbing. Not actually touching any pressure points or “digging in” as a true reflexologist would. I even told her to press harder, and she repeated what I said, but continued with the same light rubbing (she didn’t speak English well). We also called ahead of time and requested hard pressure before. And indicated when we arrived that we didn’t want to turn over to do back, and wanted more foot instead. The girl working the front said “ok” and wrote it down, so thought we’d be good here. When the masseuse kept telling me to turn over, I had to tell her no back and more foot 3 times and she didn’t understand, so I just got up with about 10-15 minutes left in the massage.What’s interesting is that when I went back to the lobby, not one of the 3 receptionists noticed I got up early, and didn’t ask how it was either way. I didn’t feel like complaining as I did a year ago & that did nothing. Someone simply wrote in the system “did not like Tiffany” but no manager followed up with us. And the girls at the front certainly didn’t care. Our payment was taken up front, and everyone had moved on.Shame on me, at this point, for thinking the experience would be different. If you want true reflexology, seriously do NOT go here.

Wow. hands down/up/in/out, Olivia gave me the BEST massage of my LIFE! i went for the 90 min Asian Fusion Massage (the perfect mix of thai, swedish, and deep tissue massages) w/ CBD oil and it was life changing. i could tell my masseuse (Olivia) took great pride in her work. i had withdrawn my tip from the ATM before my massage; but the session was SO good i had to withdraw more money to increase my tip amount before leaving.do it. you won’t regret your decision.

I told them at front desk I needed someone strong for reflexology on my feet & legs.I asked the guy who did my massage to apply more pressure 3 times. He did for about 20 seconds each time which was great, but then went back to rubbing the top of my foot for about 2 minutes which had a really annoying effect!No pressure applied at all when rubbing my legs which is all he did, no pressure points at all. 😕Maybe he was tired out by the end of the day??

I was groped by the Male massage therapist for 2 hours. He massaged my butt and pulled the sheet over and exposed me. He then proceeded to wake me up by saying hello beautiful. I told the female receptionist what happened hoping she would be helpful. She told me he is the most requested therapist. She then took me and my mother out of their system. They completely disregarded my experience and defended the perpetrator. DO NOT GO HERE. They do not protect women.

Been here on 2 occasions. First time got the foot massage for $40 and second time the thai massage for $60. nice atmosphere and they allow online booking. Foot massage is fully clothed massage, they do work on more than your feet. The Thai massage is yoga stretching and private room massage..best $60 I ever spent!

I tweaked my foot, so I got the foot, etc. massage. The first thing they did was try to upsell me to a much more expensive massage. I declined. They said that they would ask my guy to focus on my hurt foot, but he didnt really. All said, the massage itself was pretty good. Would give 4 stars if the overall customer experience had been better.

Ive come to this location this year and last year while I was in town for a conference. I had the foot & arm massage and I had the swedish massage. Both were AMAZING! They know what their doing, its relaxing and the price is ON POINT! I wish we had this place where I live.

Massages can be great if you have the right person doing it. The main reason I am not satisfied is their app. My phone broke and I lost all of the massages I accumulated. Their app has no login to sync it with anything so once its gone its gone. Had I known that I would have kept the card instead of app.

1. Would have preferred to be told the masseuse was a man, it would have influenced the massage I’d chosen. 2. He spoke little English so I couldn’t communicate when uncomfortable 3. No way has this guy been trained at all. No technique, no method, no rhythm. It didnt even feel good. 4. They have you facedown on cot with no way to breathe and a towel over your face. 5. Masseuse stood hovering as I gave feedback to receptionist, awkward 6. No real apology, coupon, or discount for my bad experience. Clearly this shop targets the business travelers in the many nearby hotels for the convention center (I was one.)

Great find - was looking for a foot massage and tried the hour foot - body combo. Super relaxing and a good value. Would try the full body if I had more time in town! FYI you tip in cash so plan accordingly since their masseuses work hard!

Great massage but poor facilities management. Old-fashioned one-size-fits-none tables. Everything I brought on there reeked of the nasty perfumed detergents they use in the laundry and left my sinuses burning.

My friend and I got appointments quickly and easily. My massage was wonderful. The front desk was very friendly. Gratuity is cash only but they have an ATM in the foyer.

Called a little bit late in the afternoon and there was a bit of shuffling to get me an appointment, but eventually I got a fantastic massage. Would recommend.

The guy I had this time wasnt that good. Had the Swedish massage but he barely did anything with my shoulders and legs. Pretty much did my back and that was it. Ive had much better experiences here in the past but this time was very disappointing.

I tipped well. The girl knew up front my concerns and my masseusse knew exactly what he was doing. I have fibromyalgia, RLS & osteoarthritis just for starters. Its been a week. I can still barely move. Youd think he did it on purpose. It was supposed to be Swedish not medical!

Terrible. The air conditioning did not work and the lady at the front did not even say anything. I came back out, complain that it was very uncomfortable I could not relax and there was absolutely no consideration or discount given. Only interested in making money.

You can relax your whole body at a relatively reasonable price. I had to laugh bitterly because I didnt understand that the tip for the therapist who treated me should be split between two people.
