Where to even begin… we always stay at the pendry and always hung out at the pool house! I decided to have my bfs birthday weekend in San Diego. So I went ahead and booked a cabana. Mike helped set up everything and did amazing . Zack had took care of us since walking in along with our server/hostess Jennie. Both were very attentive and overall great customer service. Jennie even helped me pick out what to say on the marquee sign for one of the rounds of bottles we had brought out. The dj, the vibes, a packed pool house with all our friends, it was a weekend we won’t forget. The food was delicious and the mixed drinks we ordered on top of the bottles and mixers was great. I recommend getting a pitcher! Safe to say we will definitely be back! 10/10 for everything.
This review is based solely on the $40 fee to sit poolside. Yes, the 40.00 goes towards food and/or drinks you may purchase, but if you dont plan on eating, then youre paying $40 to sit by and swim in the pool. I left and went to Float @ Hard Rock, where theres no charge for the pool.
Came here for a Happy Hour a few months ago. The scene is great, the layout and ambiance as well. However, the wait for the food was outrageous. We waited an hour to get a lobster roll and some sashimi and oysters. Everyone was nice and apologetic, but it was still irritating to wait so long nonetheless. The food, once we did get it, was quite good. I especially liked the sashimi and lobster roll. Im sure well come back again, but probably after the summer rush, when the kitchen flow can be more manageable.
My team and I chose this place for a lunch bite since we work off G Street. I’m so glad we did! I had the poke bowl with a side of chips. I also tried some of the fries off my friend’s plate -crispy and delicious btw. Highly recommend the poke bowl, it was fresh. Although I don’t eat chicken, the buffalo wrap my coworkers got looked delicious.
Great customer service. Mike invited me to check the pool/bar out while I was walking by. Very clean, good prices!
Was just denied entry due to wearing pants but other men wearing pants were allowed entry with pants right after me. Dress code not posted on the website. Doesn’t make sense.
Came here for a nice, light happy hour and we got what we wanted! They were very accommodating to our one-year-old daughter and got her a high chair from a different restaurant. We were very pleased! The fish tacos were great, and I enjoyed my wine. Beautiful location, no cigarette smoke, and a perfect place to dine in the sun. Service was fast and friendly.
My second time at the Pool House. It is beautiful and the food is good. Just be prepared to wait and spend awhile. The service is super slow and the reorder for drinks takes forever to get someone’s attention and even longer to get your drink. So my advice is if you have some time to kill and want to hang out this is a great spot. Just order two drinks at a time so you don’t get thirsty waiting on the service.
We had an amazing Sunday funday here as well as a very relaxed Monday recovery day at the pool. The place was super clean and upscale. The food was really good and the service was amazing. We will def be back!!
So much fun for a bachelorette party! Rented a cabana for 8 girls on a Friday. Food and drinks were delicious. We had such a great time relaxing in the cabana on some chairs and in the hot tub. We liked that it was a cool vibe not a pool party vibe so highly recommend a Friday if you want something low-key. For 5-6 hours we spent $900 to give you an idea of pricing.
One of my favorite spot in San Diego to start a weekend outing. I typically start here around 5pm its typically less crowded and its just nice and chill. The watching the sunset from here isnt really completely ideal but it brings some great lightning to the place around that time. The drinks a reasonably priced and appetizers are okay too. Servers are mostly friendly, all the staff are.
Attended a party here. It was very well done and this place created a nice setting for pockets of conversation and easy relaxing but still professional environment. The staff was very attentive and kept trays of food coming. I was also impressed with the bartenders who with a limited bar menu were able to keep up with the incoming requests. BUT when it was time to go the bouncers were no nonsense when they informed us in no uncertain terms that we had to go and go now!!
Limited food menu during the evening. What they do offer is really good and perfectly sharable. We got an order of fish tacos that came with three and chips with guacamole. The ambiance of the place was super chill as well with lounge chairs set up in groups. With covid 19 regulations they keep everyone distanced but it didnt have the feel of having to be separated. They also would come and clean everything with disinfectant once a group left.
Great place to attend in Downtown. Good cocktails and light snacks during Happy Hour, great flavor and beautiful presented. Shoutout to Kari for her outstanding service. Highly recommended.
Im actually sad that such a nice place can be so disgusting. The place has beautifull women, if you catch the right time. The pool is for guests staying at the hotel; even if a person spends a generous amont on dining. Staff was over the top rude and I had better service from a Wal-Mart Grocery Store. The hotel policy states they are not bias nor due they discriminate. I was asked several times if I was going to pay, because I got up several times using the restroom. Got tired of being harassed by the staff that it esclated to security. Guess what thanks to the level of unnecessary escalation the 214.68 bill on the house. Just a tip dont come to this place looking a bit thuggish or homless. If you do just make sure to order and eat the food before security give you the boot.
We live in downtown SD and decided to check out this place for a few drinks. As we were leaving, a waiter stopped us by the elevator ( mind you not our original waiter ) asking if we paid. OF COURSE WE PAID!!!!. And why would you even ask that. We were definitely profiled bc we didnt look the part. Dont judge a book by its cover. You really did lose a potential loyal customer due to your rude judgmental service. I will never return.
Very chill & posh experience. Wish there was more room for dancing but overall very classy ambiance, crowd here. Also would’ve loved to hear other genres of music other than edm & house.
The name is deceiving as is their website. I went there on a Sunday with out of town guests thinking it would be relaxing to do their advertised Sunday pool party. Well they dont allow non-hotel guests to use their pool or even lounge near it, so youre confined to a small uncomfortable area to eat mediocre overpriced food. Seems to be a new policy based on what others have told me. Staff is stuck up and fake to boot. Never again.
Loved it! Staff wore cool, comfy looking gear (uniforms). Having a tasty meal next to vibing pool is super chill. Will be back and next time stay in the hotel to enjoy the pool.
Nice pool and great service. Jen and Paige were very friendly and took the time to recommend some cool spots to visit around the area.
This pool is great if you are staying at the Pendry. Really cool atmosphere with incredible service. Food and drink selection is everything you could want from a rooftop pool. It is definitely a place to see and be seen
If you like over priced drinks this is your place. 52.00 bucks for 2 modelos beer and 2 small vodka cocktails with lousy service...what a joke
First time I had poke was here and it was pretty darn good. Service was amazing and the view was gorgeous! The whole hotel is pretty top notch!
I love this place. Accidentally somehow left a 1 Star review so I am fixing it! Great vibe, reasonable pricing, lounge chairs are free.
Cool vibe, good music, doting staff. Great way to spend a classic San Diego evening out.
The pool house was a great place to bring my girlfriends from LA. Josh Duncan was amazing! We will definitely be back .
Went here for Gary’s birthday. Great service. Shout out to Rico for holding us down.
Fun atmosphere. Great food. Yummy cocktails. Friendly service.
These guys kicked us out an hour and a half early. And they karate chopped a girls neck when she tried to tinkle. Kind of embarrassing.
Food and Service was great I will definitely be back. The environment is great as well.
Great happy hour drink specials. Menu could be a bit more diverse and focused more on snacks.
Typical Irish bar, but the live classic rock band makes the experience.
Great drinks good looking people and California sun what else do you need?
Beautifully designedGreat little hidden gem of a place in the middle of the Gaslamp district
Great spot for happy hour, relax and chill under Sunny San Diego!
Crazy pool party! Its a younger crowd and pretty crazy! Drinks were a bit on the higher end!
