Massage Envy

Today I had my very first massage in 36 years! I was a bit apprehensive about it at first but my husband suggested it since works is a lot of wear and tear on my body and I’m almost always stressed. I got Heather and she was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! She was kind and so comforting through the whole process. All the staff was! She knew where to find the spots and I walked out feeling like I haven’t in years! Thank you so much. I’ll be back next month!

WORSE MASSAGE EVER, I want my money back. I went there yesterday hoping to get a good ,relaxing full massage( I really need it). And I was very disappointed from the beginning to the very end. From the minute I walked in, I told her all my areas of pain and focus. I also mentioned I wanted DEEP pressure, and through the whole session, she never once went deep. It felt more like light rubbing, even when i told her i wanted more pressure. She said to me, i cant do that, thats not for you. I had picked this therapist because she works all pressuresThen she missed half of my body! And never even addressed my areas of pain. By the end of the session I was laying on that table angry and full of anxiety. Unfortunately, I woke up with my back still burning from pain and tension.

IMHO, the timbre of the reception desk would be better if it leaned toward being calm instead of chipper. Its great to be cheerful, but when I have a headache, Id rather encounter soothing.The massage rooms are grey, which for me is a depressing colour. Lavender, or a dusty lavender, would be more pleasant, and better match the stores logo.Still, the massage quality is so good that I bought a membership. Corinne is my go-to for working down tight calf muscles. She also found a knot at the small of my back that I didnt even realize was bothering me; I felt much better after she took care of it.You also get a bottle of water on your way out the door.Be advised that when you have a membership, gifting a massage to a friend is not straight forward. You must navigate several options. And there is a $10 transfer fee which I believe is beyond the individual stores control (basically, Massage Envy gets $10 when an employee does 30 seconds of data entry). This is still better than giving a gift card, because it doesnt happen until the recipient actually uses the service.Overall, good quality where it counts.

Came on Sat. Was denied service because I didnt mention I was pregnant and the therapist was not certified in pre-natal. Mentioned I was high-risk. Rescheduled to Tuesday with Pre-natal specialist and denied service while naked and on table because no one mentioned that high-risk needs a Dr. Note. Lots of miscommunication. Embarassing to be naked and pregnantnon a table only to be told I need a Drs Note last minute. Been very loyal coming to this location which is completly out of my way and not helpful being pregnant either. Sorry does not cut it. I refer numerous people here and now am reconsidering based off this. Spoke with Manager and although nice lady, sorry is not gonna cut it twice in less then a week. Just will go elsewhere. Thanks!

When I had a massage there, it was very nice. Nothing earth shattering, but it felt good and I was satisfied. Since then, I’ve made several appointments but they’ve all been cancelled by the store at the last minute. Three times now! My last massage was in September. Every subsequent massage I’ve booked has been cancelled due to an “emergency” with the masseuse. Once is understandable. The second time I thought — this is an odd way to run a business. When they cancelled on me the third time, I thought- I should get my pre-paid money back. How can a business operate this way? In any case, my advice is to find a more reliable massage business— one that actually delivers the service that are promised.

I have been to many massage envy, but this location in particular has different rules. I have been a member over 5 years. Olena is one of best massage therapist in South Elgin location. I had not ever missed my appointment. If I couldn’t make it, I’ll definitely call few days ahead.I had scheduled an appointment and got confused with the time, massage envy did not have the courtesy to call me that I’m running late. I had 90 min session and I showed up at an hour later due to the confusion. I understand they texted me as well, I didn’t check my phone With the busy Schedule and being a mom. It was a phone call they had to make. This is upsetting due to me being a member over 5 years or longer.I also had discuss this with them and they had became very rude. South Elgin will not get my business. It’s not about the money it’s about the courtesy that they should called. When I walked an hour later, lol they said they’ve been waiting for me. I was a client for over 5 years. Loved both therapists Lisette and Kelly. I felt forced to cancel my membership and forfeit several paid for massages because of their policy to not disclose if therapists are Covid vaccinated- or allow clients to discuss the matter privately with the therapist before booking a massage. In today’s day and age I expected more especially from a wellness facility. Management could have chosen a better way to handle this. I assume they’re doing very well and only want clients that don’t ask questions.

Worse massage ever. Massage therapist I had named Betty wouldnt stop talking about religion & politics. While I understand everyone has a right to their own views, I dont believe it should have been at my expense and time. Secondly, this location will flat out lie to your face and tell you there is no contract but yet youre signing one! They claim you can cancel at anytime but dont support their verbal promise in writing. Go elsewhere. I did and it was a much better fit and more relaxing

I have membership with location such a long time. I have set up my appointments over the phone. They are completely lying about my appointment and charging my credits. also Manager Maria hang up the phone on my twice plus told me that I am a liar. this is how you talk to your customer? I am very disappointed of Maria`s behavior. she is a manager at this location but no customer service.I guess one star is also more for this rude behavior.Owner has to train staff on customer service. horrible managed location.

I see Rachel here and she is awesome! I really love the experience of Massage Envy. My first massage was with Massage Envy and I have had a membership ever since! I have found cheaper massages in other businesses, but honestly was disappointed compared to the experience I have at Massage Envy. I love that they have heated tables and nice comfy linens. I usually select one of the aromatherapy massages and it really enhances the experience. Rachel is awesome because she checks in to make sure everything is going well for me, and always gives me what I need. I recommend this location to anyone!

The massage therapist was really good, and did a deep tissue/ trigger point massage, although the massage was only 50 minutes, not 60 minutes. The facial was good, but nothing spectacular. In general, the services are over-priced unless you become a member and get discounted prices.Warning: Only become a member if you are sure that youll want to commit to coming there once a month, for an entire year - yes, the membership is for one entire year! I happen to have chronic pain in my neck, shoulders and upper back that isnt going to be going away anytime soon, so I figured a year is realistic for me.

I have to give the ladies on the front desk & Rachel, who gave me the most wonderful, deep tissue massage-a total of 5 stars. Although there were problems encountered with my gift card, (the gift card was purchased for me from my daughters) I cannot hold the ladies at the South Elgin location responsible, as the gift card was purchased at a different location. And that is a whole other story, one that I wont get into on this review. My daughter is currently looking into the matter. Anyway, THANK YOU, Ladies, for a relaxing & wonderful experience. Ill be back!

Had the most AMAZING massage from Rachel. Her hands are magical and my body hasn’t felt this good in so long! Would recommend her to everyone, my new go to girl for all massages.

The receptionist was very nice. The manager was irritating she jumped into our conversation without introducing herself . The therapist lacked empathy and so did the manager, my massage was 50 min which I signed up for a hour. Regular massage nothing to brag about. I complained that she didnt massage the parts I wrote on the paper. They did nothing, after I drove 30 min to them. Thats another thing dont sign up!!!! once you sign up you can never get an appointment again. They are always booked , EVERYWHERE!!!!!!!!LOL

This is a horribly managed location...most of the time you cannot get a weekend appointment as they are over sold. I quit my membership because of this, and when I asked for an extension to use my remaining sessions which had piled up, and because they are closed for remodeling, I had to convince the manager who would only extend an extra week beyond even though I explained I would be gone for the following week! Will never recommend this company! Oh, and btw you can go to a chiropractor massage therapist for the same price! And I noticed the owner never responds to negative reviews....

I have had many massages, but this by far was the best. Alycia has magic hands. She found issues that I didnt know I had and worked them out. I am so thankful. My husband said the same thing with his massage. When we travel back to IL we will be stopping by again. What a wonderful experience!! I recommend this establishment with a full 10 star rating!!!

My experience was great. From reception to the massage and checking out, everyone was very welcoming and friendly.

I wrote an earlier review which I still want to keep because of my experience as a nonmember wasnt good. However I am a member now and the services Ive received from all of the masseuses were fantastic so I want to give them public credit for the great work.

My massage therapist was great and seemed well experienced. They try to sell you on a package, and I understand theyre just doing their job but it gets a little sales ish and I honestly just wanted to check out and leave.

Roland provided an incredible prenatal massage. He made every minute count, was completely professional, and thoroughly addressed the many aches and pains I had at 35 weeks pregnant. Thank you!

I have a bad neck and shoulder for years now and it had gotten to the point I could barely lift my arm. I found an amazing massage therapist named Laura H. at Massage Envy in South Elgin. Laura H. is so good, Im sure my words wont do her work justice. She finds my knots and I feel and hear the crunching as she breaks them up, then shell find the next one and the next. I feel her dedication, she never seems lazy or uncaring.. like shes on a mission to actually help me! Shes very nice and down to earth too so I just really wanted to share her name if anyone needs help. She seems to be the answer for me, I am a regular now!

I absolutely love this place! As someone with fibromyalgia, the trigger point therapy has greatly benefitted me and gets me through each month! Billy is absolutely amazing in everyway! Could never thank them enough for how much care they provide me each visit!-Evelyn

My experience with massage envy has been good ever since I found a good therapist. Before that it was very poor.

I expected a generic corporate feel in here but it wasnt like that at all. They had so many different services to choose from and I didnt even know what some of it was. The staff was really patient with me and answered all my inane questions.

I came to see Jessica for an hour long massage today. 10/10 she was so kind and did a good job

I will not be going back to this location after my last experience with my wife. I would not recommend a couple’s experience here.

Every time you make your appointment its always has to be with a different person you can never get the same personand they say its supposed for your massage and its never an hour and a half and you tell them about it and they say theyll fix it next time enough time never happens

They took every precaution to ensure my safety. It was an excellent massage.i totally recommended them.

Clean professional and a great price they have a monthly membership that brings the price of a massage dramatically down for those who frequent it more
