Tricoci Salon and Spa

I asked and paid for a light ash brown baylage. I was very clear I wanted the ends lighted creating an illusion of a darker root. Instead I got solid brown in the back the looks like nothing at all was done due to the use of too dark of toner and in the front I got nearly blue grey blotchy streaks. Nothing personal with the colorist but I was recommended a top level colorist by a top level stylist and I couldn’t be more shocked at the result. It’s not at all what I asked for and it ruined my natural hair that I came in with and made me look so cheap. I am really not pleased with what I got here. Absolutely not a baylage!!!

Margaret was thoughtful and attentive with scheduling my appointment. The staff was very welcoming and helpful upon arrival. Alicia worked a miracle on my color correction. I arrived with hair that was orange after being highlighted, straightened and then toned at another salon. Alicia explained the color corrective steps and reassured me she could help me get back to my brown ashy shade. Not only did she accomplish this, but my hair has never looked better. Alicias professionalism and calm nature was exactly what I needed being extremely distraught after my experience with the previous salon. Double thumbs up to Alicia and Tricoci team!

Alicia gave me the BEST balayage I’ve ever had in my life. She was so quick and knowledgeable about the best approach to get the style I wanted. Olivia was so great to talk with and gave me a really nice haircut! Had a great experience with the both of them and I’ll be coming back!

I went for partial highlights and trim - left paying $250+ and need to go somewhere to have this mess fixed. The colorist I’m convinced has never done partial highlights before: hands shaking, no idea what to do with foils, got product all over the place, charged for me using extra product after the fact, missed huge sections, not near the root, thick chunks, immediately rinsed toner - everything was off. For the ambience and price that you would anticipate going to this place, I’m shocked. Trim was fine with another stylist, but I had to walk through multiple people’s hair to get to the chair - ick! A manager was not available that day and I was told they would call me. I called back two days later and a manager was not available, and a week later I’m still waiting for a call. Not the experience I would expect from a place like this.

Erini got me the EXACT look I wanted and even ironed out my hair at no cost to enhance the cut! I didnt request it, she just included it with the cut. I also got color from Beth and a manicure from Maryna that both came out fantastic! Can highly recommend them all! Wonderful job!

It was very easy to book and the experience was great, but the nails dont last as long as you would think. I got a gel full set expecting them to last 3-4 weeks but they already started falling off on day 11.

Love the Arlington Heights salon! Staff is friendly. Elle is a wonderful aesthetician and really knows skin care. Beyond love Galina. She gives the best pedicures Ive ever had. Really feel pampered. Wont go anywhere else. Thank you, Arlington Heights Tricocci!

EDIT: 3 of my last 4 appointments of color and style were canceled the day of or day before. Cuts were offered a sub, which was okay, but not the colorist. Had I canceled, Id have been charged 100%. Instead, I had to reschedule a MONTH later with no consideration. This had a domino effect for my plans in place for months.I wish they had accommodated me like I had accommodated them. **I always loved the colorists & stylists here since the 90s! Returned immediately after living out of state & right away found Courtney (colorist) and Olivia & Aubrey (stylists) - 3 *excellent*, talented, kind professionals who are creative & flexible. They listen,offer suggestions & help with my specific hair issues. I highly recommend them & this location in Arlington Heights💜

First off, 4 stars go to my stylist James as hes amazing and does a wonderful job. However, I am pretty disappointed with the salon and the upcharges and charging me for the wrong service. I initially booked an appointment for a balayage and a haircut with a blowout. The haircut/blowout was only supposed to be $55. I got a simple cut and they charges me $88. After my consultation with James regarding my hair, he ended up doing highlights instead of a balayage. When I went to check out the reception charged me for a balayage. I told her that he did highlights instead which was VERY evident (see photo) but she still told me that it was accurate and continued to charge me for a balayage, which was $155. I should have spoken up more and asked her to explain where the balayage was cause it was clearly just highlights. So, therefore, I do not recommend this place unless you want to get scammed on your hair. Super disappointing as I do love James work.

UPDATE- I received the kindest call from Janysa who is the regional manager. She not only apologized but also refunded me for the appointment. I truly appreciate them going above and beyond to make things right.Summary- I recommend Nancy for makeup but not Carmen for hair styling.I usually go to the Old orchard location for my hair cuts and I have only heard great things about hair cutting at all their locations.Wedding updos are a whole other issue it seems…My mother in law visited this location on May 12th at 2:45pm with Carmen and had an unpleasant experience. She went to this location for a trial before the wedding day and the stylist (although very nice) explained why the look my mother in law wanted was not achievable ( my mother in law has very long hair and wanted a braided ponytail updo).Unfortunately, the alternative style the stylist did was not close to what my Mother in law initially wanted and when she looked in the mirror it was extremely messy. After explaining this, the stylist applied some type of gel and that did in fact neaten up the hairstyle. It just wasn’t the quality expected from having to pay $120 without tip. My mother in law ended up curling her own hair for the wedding and it ended up looking better and she isn’t even a professional….She had Nancy as her makeup artist and really loved her makeup at the wedding.

Carmen is one of the best! She made me very comfortable and took good care of me!!!

I had a (“keratin” $350) done and my hair is dying. They definitely have no experience with this procedure, I dont know why they do it. 😣

This was probably one of the worst haircuts I’ve gotten since middle school. I asked for it be an inch or two lower than my jaw when it drys curly and it ends up being well above my jaw. The ends are also so uneven it looks like a four year old used safety scissors on it. Would be safer going to greatclips

My husband had worst experience during his haircut today. Stylist was so rude and was using the comb on his head so hard that it was hurting him. She finished the haircut in 5 mins. The appointment was 45 min long and my husband was out of the salon in mere 20 mins. For all this he paid 65$. Seriously??? Worst ever place and we are not going here again. It’s an Arlington Heights location.

This rating is not a reflection on my massage therapist Elizabeth. She is terrific and I would continue to return, but your recent price increase is ridiculous. A 50 minute relaxation massage increasing from $90 to $115 (27%). How in the world is this justifiable? I can go to one of your competitors in Northfield for a 60 minute Swedish massage for $75. I’m so disappointed.

Went for a prenatal massage. Miho was fantastic. Helped so much with third trimester aches and pains.

Tricoci Arlington Heights 4 bad experiences in a week:*made the appointment thru the call center for highlights(BLONDE)with Toni and a haircut with Aubrey right after.1,2 and 3: The call center overbooked Aubrey so they called the AH location & put me in with Olivia WITHOUT calling me to explain. Showed up for my appt on 10/18 only to find out they screwed up. So I said NO I dont know Olivia & so only had highlights done with Toni who decided to put lowlights all over to cover my slightly gray hair without me knowing & I left looking like an old lady, salt & pepper. Pissed beyond believe, the manager Hannah was great & got me in the next week, today 10/25 with Toni for a redo. And today, 10/25 she wasnt nice & put very few blonde highlights back in. Tried to scare me that my hair would break off if she put more in~4: Now the haircut that had to be delayed because they overbooked Aubrey ended up to be on 10/20 & I wish I never had her cut my hair, uneven & I look like PRINCE VALIANT. This girl has 9 years of experience, so she says, but she is a total Amateur.I will never go back to Tricoci even if it is for a manicure...These people are OVERPRICED AMATEURS & my total cost for this nightmare was $290.00.This wouldnt be bad if all had gone right but I am outraged. Think twice before using Tricoci...They are just a name that got spread around & at 1 time they were good, sadly not anymore. The blonde one with me in a red shirt was my normal hair, the selfie takien at Tricosi was what Toni did to me. last 2 pics are the uneven chopped cut by Aubrey and the color(from Toni) is now brownish red instead of my beautiful blonde I once was.....AND NOTICE NO RESPONSE FROM THE OWNER AS THERE IS ON ALL OTHER REVIEWS. LOW LIFE SALON

I highly recommend Zuzanna esthetician for facial treatment and hair removal. She is the best!

I will not name my aesthetician, but I had a terrible experience with my bikini wax. I knew it was bad when the first patch took her multiple tries to extract anything. All in all, the experience was torture. I still tipped 10%, because Im not a monster. But the worst part? When I got home and took a shower and felt around? There were still hairs there. An hour of pain for full baldness would be one thing. But for my aesthetician to have missed a spot or two? Is just unacceptable. I will ask for someone else if I return. And that is a big if.

I had an appointment today at 12:15, called to say I was running ten minutes late. I came out here from 45 minutes away and there was an accident on 290 that slowed everything down. Receptionist says she will let Kevin know. I get here, check in, sit down, only for her to come out and let me know that Kevin won’t see me. I ask what changed in the ten minutes since I called. She says that he is saying he won’t have enough time and is booked for the remainder of the day. I explain how far I drove out here and that I am more than willing to wait. Nothing. Offers that I can get my hair cut if I want (not my primary reason for coming out here) then asks when I want to reschedule my appointment for. As if I would waste my time to come back out here after this nonsense. The only thing I will give credit for is not charging me for the appointment.

I had a custom RX facial with Madi and I left in tears from how rude, delusional, and unprofessional she was regarding my skin. She let me know “this is the worst skin she has ever worked on” and thought my dermatologist was insane to have me on a retinol. Then proceeded to advise me to “try buttermilk and apply sunscreen every 90 minutes”. My entire facial was her rambling about outdated practices, myths, and topics completely out of her scope. Respectfully, please have your estheticians stay in their lane. They are not medical professionals. Either Madi’s morals are way off or was trying to scare me into buying her products. I will never step foot into this salon again.

The Hair Colorist Beth in Mario Tricocci’s Arlington Heights location is fantastic and saved my hair who someone else totally ruined. She is an absolute professional and takes care of you 100% with honest advice. Her color correction was totally amazing and I had a great time too. She is also fun to talk to and makes you feel relaxed .I definitely will recommend her to my friends and family. We all know how difficult is to find the good hair colorist and hair stylist. BTW Carmen is another amazing hair stylist at this location. Carmen is professional with good bedside manners . Thank you for very good service 😀

I have spent hundreds on massage and tried a haircut 2,months ago which was awful. Thought I’d try with a different stylist and had an appointment for today for short haircut $50 and did the usual confirm a couple of days ago. Today on my way to appointment I get a text to contact them . They wanted to let me know that the $50 haircut was for men and that it was $70 with this stylist! I immediately cancelled and eventually got a call from manager Bree to say they have had other clients confused by this and that they would honor $50-too little too late-never again!

I really like the concept of a salon that pampers its patrons. The decor was warm, inviting and tasteful.The stylist was only slightly late, which only slightly annoying, but was personable. My service/color was enjoyable as was the shampooing. Overall, the experience was pleasant but I left feeling this experience fell short of leaving me satisfied and slightly slighted. Im willing to use this service again before I make a final determination because my expectations, set by marketing, did not match the service received.

I love the Arlington heights location. Front desk girls were amazing as well as my stylist Meganne. Alyssa the front desk girl was AMAZING! She helped me so much with purchasing gift cards and letting me know about the promotion!

As someone who sparingly leaves reviews, I’m writing this to say I’m very disappointed with the colorists job on my hair. I came in here asking for my hair to be lightened or at least a root touch up, and I received neither. My hair looks exactly the same if not DARKER than when I walked in, and I paid $120! I was additionally charged $40 for a gloss, a service I never asked for. The staff was friendly, just the actual color and added charges was upsetting.

I have been a customer at this salon for well over 10 years. I liked my hair stylist and makeup artist, and trusted them as the vendor to get me and my 6 bridesmaids ready for my wedding last month. The scheduling process was easy as corporate has someone specifically in charge of weddings. Our H&MU came out great, however, the checkout process was an abysmal nightmare. No one had any idea how to check out a wedding party with individual means of payment. Later, I discovered a charge of nearly $100 on my card they had on file (which I did not use that day). After several weeks of back and forth with the General Manager Brieanna and promises that a refund will be issued in 5-10 business days to no resolve, I finally had enough and reached out to my credit card company who successfully refunded my charge. I do not trust the management of this location, I will not be going back, and I do not recommend this headache to any future brides.

I went to get my makeup done on the day of prom and not only was the makeup lady - Elle - extremely rude to me, but she did not cater to any of my needs within the makeup look. Secondly, she began nearly 25 minutes late and was extremely rude and disregarding to me. As a woman of color I needed a proper color match which she did not cater to, once again. I would not recommend getting your makeup done by Elle.

Had an exclusive manicure and essential pedicure with Daisy. She was very thorough and had a nice touch. Left my nails and skin looking fantastic. The overall experience was very relaxing. The products felt and smelled really nice and the nail polish was clearly very good quality. Didnt leave any streaks or bubbles. The pedicure area also felt like a nice little lounge. 5 stars all around. :)

Been coming here since 2007 and had my hair highlighted. I recently booked an appointment with a top colorist because I no longer wanted Balayage but something different since my white hair is becoming more prominent. I explained this to the expert colorist and she said she was going to balayage it . I said that is not what I wanted but more of an all over blond. She then told me to leave, so I left and never returned.I’m glad she told me to leave because I found a great colorist at Avalon who has gradually disguised my white hair!

Place is huge, warm, welcoming. I been to other Tricoci salons but at this location experience was not up the mark. Many hair strands are unequal.I expressed my concern about hair volume at the begging and Meganne gave me flat haircut and blow dry. My hairs are naturally straight and after blow dry it looked like regular air dried hair. No texture no volume. I would not recommend this location.

I usually go to Tricoci Vernon Hills but needed my highlights done ASAP. The lady (Jade) made me sign a waiver to have my hair done even though it’s only been highlighted twice. She kept telling me that all my hair is falling out and that it is immensely damaged. At first I was in shock and wondered why my other regular hair lady didn’t tell me anything. But I realized my hair wasn’t as bad as she said it was. I asked for white blonde highlights on my brunette hair and ended up getting chunky lines as well as orange tones even after toner. My experience felt extremely unprofessional and I still paid in full+tip! If you want good highlights I would recommend going to someone else at this location or just going to Vernon hills.

I received a great cut. I was hopeful that all the reviews I read about cost were people just being frugal. I’m happy to spend money on quality service in an upscale environment. Unfortunately, the facility was not what I would have expected for the price I paid.

I went in for hair color service which was nice. I booked my appointment online so I selected color service. When I went there, they colored my hair, washed it and showed me where the hair dryer was and where the brushes were for blow drying. Later, to my surprise, I was informed that I had to blow dry my hair on my own and there was nobody free to do that for me. I asked if they needed to charge extra, they can but I don’t go to a salon to blow dry my own hair so when I refused to do that, they said “we are ready to check you out then”.2 minutes later, I was out in cold, water dripping from my hair crying in my car.Not the salon experience I hoped for but I guess teaches me a lesson to get things cleared before sitting down on the chair.

Amazing people. Amazing environment. I had long hairs and i wanted to cut it short. I have never cut my hair short till shoulders. It was my first time experience and i wanted it to be the best shot. For that, i needed someone who understands me from where i am coming from. Olivia, was my hairdresser and she did phenomenon job. I didnt appreciate her that much because i was in shock 😱😱 like a good shock! Olivia, you did amazing job. I would highly recommend her. She will guide you and comfort you by answering to all of your questions.

My husband and I were celebrating our anniversary first stop was here. He got a massage and I got a pedicure. No complaints here! All the employees were very welcoming. Luda did my pedicure she was so nice and easy to talk with. She did such a nice job on my toes. If we didnt live a hour away I would definitely go back there.

From haircuts to color to massage, I always love the services here. It is so luxurious. Everyone is professional and friendly.

All i asked was for long lasting curls like the picture, so that my hair would look voluminous for my quinceñeara and they did a poor job. She didn’t know how to put on my crown and I had to give her directions. The lady also brushed out the curls which caused them to fall out right away because my hair was originally pin straight. I thought she would re-curl it but instead she said all done and left me with messy hair that looked nothing like the example I had showed. Not only was the job poorly done, they then continued to charge me $85 for it and with tip it ended up being over $100. Definitely go somewhere else if your want your hair to last long and look good. I ended up doing my own hair at home FOR FREE, what a waste of time and money. Wont be coming back. Way too over priced and overrated.

I had my wedding hair done here in September, Audrey did a gorgeous job!! She made my wedding hair vision come to real life. I also had my makeup done here, also a fantastic job done! My makeup stayed on the entire day/night and still looked perfect at the end of the night. The pricing was very reasonable also!

For about 15 years I have had Kelly exclusively color my hair, and have always been super happy and receive compliments on my color all of the time. My favorite hair stylist left years ago and haven’t had much luck finding another until yesterday when I had Shannon cut my hair. Not only is she really sweet, she cut my hair exactly how I wanted it. I love it and I love the products she recommended.

Got my Balayage with Alicia today, first time working with her and had a great experience , back to warm blond and couldn’t be happier!Followed by professional haircut with Victoria, ( so glad I got to meet her few years ago, she is one and only ♥️♥️♥️)Thank you Tricoci team for excellent service!

I love that they always great you very nicely also they always ask if we want lemonade or some water. There hair cuts are really good. I have had less experienced hairstylists do my hair and they do amazing. I am always impressed with how my hair cut comes out. I really like when they straighten my hair or curl it, it looks flawless! One thing is that they are kind of pricey.

Gina is great, she knows exactly what to do. Especially with my short pixie cut. Very personable and makes you feel at ease. The front desk is so sweet and really helpful they do not get enough credit for what they do. They have been extremely helpful and I appreciate that!

Brianca is amazing. She gave me back my confidence, and did such a great job styling my hair. Definitely recommend visiting here.

Right when I walked in the salon, I knew something was going to go wrong. When you get a cut and color, you get your color done first. I was with Annie. It was my first time with her and my appt was at 11am. She didn’t come to get me until 11:20am. And then she takes me back to her chair to go over the color I want in my hair. I showed her a picture AND specifically told her I want a violet tone. She asked “did you want it orange or more violet?”. I again said I want violet. She was already running late because I believe an assistant was letting her know how much time she had left with me. She then brought me to my haircut appt and once I saw my hair I was beyond frustrated. I asked WHY my highlights in my hair orange? She has no explanation. I told her you need to fix this because I am embarrassed of how bad it looks. Even my stylist said “what did she do to your hair”. I then showed my stylist the picture I showed Annie and my stylist said that my hair was nowhere near the violet I wanted. I was brought back to Annie after my haircut and she used this chemical to take the orange out to make it more violet. It took her 3 washes to do this. She had to let it sit for a few minutes in between and she went in back somewhere and when she came back, she reeked like cigarettes. I was already upset at the fact she did the complete opposite color to my hair and now I have to smell cigarettes as she is rinsing my hair. The color was close to what I wanted. I was somewhat satisfied but not completely. At checkout, the ladies asked how my service was and I was honest and said it was not the best. The GM, Nikki was right by me and asked what happened. I told her what happened and said that I don’t deserve to pay almost $300. Annie did ADD the extra charge to my bill to rinse the orange out. So the GM went to talk to some higher up person and then came back and deducted some of the bill. A couple days later, I was told that my hair smelled like chemicals...bad chemicals. I washed my hair 3 times and the smell is still here. Some of my hair is falling out. I called MT, and asked for the corporate number. I believe I spoke to Yanna. She asked what was wrong and I told her what happened about my service and the after math with the smell of the chemicals. She said that I will be getting a call from corporate in regards to this. I highly recommend for those who get their color done here, do not go to Annie. She ran 20 minutes late AND can’t even get the color right when I showed her multiple times.

The phone call was right to the point. I have a nose piercing and wanted to see if they jewelry to by. I like how the guy answered and said “no piercings”. Straight to the point.

Went in for a pixie cut, which I’ve had several times before and loved. Olivia did my hair first and cut it more than an inch shorter than the reference photo I brought. Went in the next day to get it fixed by Lana, a more experienced stylist, and it looks even worse now. I’ve never cried over a haircut before. Do not spend your money here or at any other Tricoci location.

This was my first time here and I cannot say enough good things about my experience! I get breakouts now because of the masks we need to wear. Veronica helped me decide on a custom facial specifically to meet my needs. Not only was the facial relaxing, but I left feeling immediately smoother, tighter and my skin is glowing. I highly recommend Veronica and Tricoci!

Awesome place. I went here to get a fancy haircut for senior prom and everyone of my friends, family, prom date etc said how attractive i looked.. ive been going there ever since, like 10 years now.. Ive been seeing Gina that whole time. Shes amazing. Everytime I leave people are impressed by my hair.

Today was my first time at a Mario Tricoci, I had my hair cut horrendously in November by a different salon. I was very scared and saw Izzy, I thought its Mario Tricoci they wouldnt just hire any random person with no skill. It is okay to choose the $40 stylist vs the $80 stylist. I was very specific, I brought pictures. I showed her exactly what I wanted and showed her a picture of exactly what I did not want. I had specific pictures, I trusted her and was very scared. She did exactly what I told her I DID NOT WANT. I was crying in that chair just waiting for her to finish. I couldnt help my tears from rolling down my eyes. I am so upset, having to go to work with this mess on my head. I regret ever going to this place. She stated she cut at a 45° like I dont know what that is. I have a Bob cut on the side, and my hair is cut on a straight 90° in the back. I cant believe how she ruined my hair after I was very specific, if its not a cut she is familiar with why not tell me. I will have to look at this for the next 4 months. I feel I get more upset by the minute. The ladies up front told me next time theyll refer me to a better person, why would she be working there if she doesnt know what shes doing. Of course I should have chosen the $80 stylist at a place with such prestige like Mario Tricoci. I refuse to go back and risk a horrible hair cut for a 3rd time. Im just distraught by this experience and will be reminded of this experience for the next 4 months while it grows.

I am impressed by the consistent great service that I have been getting at Mario from greeting with a beverage to rewind after busy day at work to getting my fine Curley hair done with satisfaction. Tony is great at touching up my hair and Sarah is excellent hair stylist. She did awesome job styling my hair for recent wedding that I attended, I would strongly recommend both of them at this location.Thank you for maintaining such great service.

Jade is an amazing colorist! I get so many compliments on my hair in the weeks following my appointments with her.And Zuzanna is an excellent esthetician! Very thorough and never made me feel rushed.I’ve had nothing but good experiences at this salon & I always look forward to my next appointments.

A few months ago my fiancé booked an appointment at the Mario Tricoci in Arlington Heights. He told the woman on the phone that hed be proposing to me that night. He asked for the best person to do my very first balayage, and she said Courtney. This was my first time at a Mario Tricoci Salon. When we got there, Courtney said it was in the system as only a touch up, so bottom line was, she didnt have time for us. She talked to us and handed us off to Kim. We didnt book a touch up, the confirmation e-mail was for a full balayage session. Kim proceeded and worked on my hair. While my hair was still wet, I got my make up done and just needed a quick blowout to be on our way. As she was drying my hair, I saw that it was awful and needed to get redone; it looked as though my hair was just bleached a few inches from my roots, which were still dark. I was so mortified that I did not think to take a picture of the aftermath, which I regret. After a few minutes, the manager pulled Kim aside and Aileen and Jade tried salvaging my hair. They kept reassuring me and saying, this never happens... were going to make this right... hopefully you give us another chance... so... that felt to me like someone basically saying Yeah, this is a legitimate BIG mistake and its BAD. I think not paying for Kims mistake goes without saying, but we still had to pay $150 for people to try and salvage my hair. Thats not all, we were stuck at that location for about 8.5 hours total there.... we got there at 11:45am and left around 8:15pm (without a chance to eat anything all day)... if I knew this was going to happen, we would not have paid for my make-up, it was a waste. I was sitting around the salon all day, trying not to cry, because I didnt want to ruin the expensive airbrush make-up and lashes application I got. Another thing was, the manager had come by twice to pull Kim off and check on me while I was getting toned, however she left before I was done, and wasnt around to make sure that nothing else went wrong.A few days later we called the location just to express our frustration from that entire day, and our engagement plans being ruined. Also, the fact that we had to pay for the fix to their big mistake, while being there an additional 4.5 hours that we didnt need to be. After a few phone calls with the manager, she refunded what we paid for the hair. A few days later, after telling our parents of my horrible experience at this salon, my future mother-in-law called Mario Tricoci corporate, and they very upset that this would happen at one of their salons, and were more than helpful in making us feel better about going back in the future, to a different location. I want to thank the corporate office for making this whole experience a little easier to deal with. Because of them, we will be going to a different location to give them another chance. Also, thanks to my fiancé for keeping me as calm as possible, by being there with me the entire time.

Just received the most disappointing facial. Was looking forward to a relaxing morning and my service provider was 10 minutes late for my appointment that I was early for. She was rushing the entire time and I could feel her looking at the clock every few minutes. She didn’t ask or offer any of the specifically facials and assumed I would want the cheapest one which I did not want. Did not explain any of the products she was using and overall very disappointing.

The services we’ve received at the Arlington Heights IL salon have been fine but the attitude of the employees is so elitist it’s really off putting. Elle the makeup artist was very sweet but the manager, the desk staff and the hair stylists have been very unfriendly, it feels unprofessional. It’s a shame that the majority of them give off an air that exudes “you are so lucky we’ve agreed to service you”. I’ll go back for makeup applications because that happens only once a year or so but I won’t subject myself to the others who appear to believe that they’re doing the public some special favor. I certainly hope the Tricoci schooling doesn’t encourage that lack of humility and gratitude for business.

The salon is clean and organized. Of course the rating us all about the colorist and cutter. Jade the colorist 5 stars. Aubrey the hair cutter sadly 1 star. This is the second time Ive been unhappy with my cut. Her skills do not include cutting short hair.

I have never made a decision until I complete my due diligence and again, the hardwork pays off. After researching local salons, I decided on Mario Tricoci because of their reputation and price point. The easy part was Tim. His work and commentary on social media quickly convinced me that he was the right choice.Tim is affable and laid back as a stylist. He listens and applies his extensive knowledge to what is capable of being done. Hes not aggressive but clear on his suggestions. Hes earned my trust after two visits.Pick Tim.

I called this hair salon and asked how much they charge for African American natural hair and they told me prices start at 40 but depends on the beautician. When my mom and Igot there the lady didn’t lay one hand on my hair before she said she’s going to have to change me 90 because of my hair texture. I felt discriminated against HEAVY. The guy my mom was assigned to told her he would charge her 60 before playing in her hair for over an hour then told her he would have to charge 80. This shop is NOT FOR BLACK PEOPLE. If you are African American go to the MARIO TRICOCI HAIR SCHOOL IN CHICAGO ON SHERIDAN. They do a great job and only charged my mom and I 22$.

I spent over $200 for balayage which ended up being patchy highlights and their attempt at fixing the issue left me crying in my car at how rude they were to me for coming in again. No thank you.

I had a bad experience with highlight because of a price disagreement. The stylist was understanding and helped out. BUT A TIP make sure you specify the hair you want and ask what the price will be before you start. For example; highlights $90 with a stylist #1, (miscommunication and you accidentally get the wrong hair style) highlights with stylist #2 $130 because it’s not her fault #1 was confused about the kind of highlights that were asked for. Just specify and ask questions. Overall very lovely place spa, nails, and hair (offer water and oj)

First time and last time. Came in for highlights and got darker and uneven. Even yanna the manager said it was darker. Came in with blonde hair and left as a brunette. Cost me $110. They better redo my hair or refund me my money.

I had two terrible experiences at this location. I went to get a haircut and showed the woman two pictures of how I wanted my hair to look like. One picture was of myself to show exactly where I wanted the length to cut off at. The woman cut my hair WAY too short and looks NOTHING like I wanted it to. Her name was Lana and is considered a senior hair dresser. She even touched my back of where I wanted it cut and my hair does not even touch my back anymore. I was so upset with how I looked so I went back and scheduled a consultation meeting for hair extensions. The woman that gave the consultation is named Carmen and was extremely rude. She was blaming me for showing TWO pictures to Lana and said that it confused her. She made me feel like I was an inconvenience to her and she kept saying my hair looks like the first picture I showed. Clearly she was trying to defend the salon instead of addressing the needs of the clients. I tried to give this salon a second chance by scheduling this consultation but I will never going back to this salon again.

I absolutely love my hair! Jade is the best!! So kind, and did exactly what i asked for! I cannot thank her enough, because I am so obsessed with how my hair turned out!! I absolutely recommend this place and Jade!

I was at the salon last Sunday with a photo for red color base hair with blonde highlights. The hairs technique of Kim was poor and she was not able to get even close to the photo. Front desk girls were polite and they did offered re-done. I did set up appointment with another hairs technician and he just added some strong red highlights on the top of my hair considering that I would like to look as a fall tree with red, orange, brown, black strips on my damaged hair. I set up a third re-done a week later and the specialist said that nothing can be done my hair to be fix and I need to wait more days to get a base color and blonde highlights. The time I loose and the dispoiments were not worth the price I paid. Unbelievable what was done with my hair at this place. I will not recommend this location to no one .

Sobbed for hours after getting my hair done. I came in for a blonde balayage and walked out with a full head of bright white gray hair. When I complained to Kevin (my hair colorist) about what he had done to my hair he would not own up to his mistakes. I tried to tell them I shouldn’t have to pay for this because it was not what I came in for and they forced me too. I’m sixteen and was clearly in distress after the coloring and no one showed any remorse not even Kevin who has done this monstrosity to my hair. He tried to blame it on toning but I’m smart enough to know toning doesn’t do that to someone’s hair. I’ve been going to Kevin for two years and this was completely unprofessional of him and because of his humongous mistake which is my hair he and Mario triccoi have lost a loyal good tipping customer. DO NOT COME TO MARIO TRICCOI ARLINGTON HEIGHTS AND EXPECT WHAT U ASKED FOR ESPECIALLY IF U HAVE KEVIN

I had a Balayage with Alicia and it was amazing! I showed her an image of what I wanted and she did such a great job. I love my new hair and will be coming back soon!

The best hair cuts and color service EVER! They fixed my hair after highlights went wrong at another salon. I love the cuts Ive gotten there. Havent tried their other services.

WARNING!!!DO NOT GET YOUR NAILS DONE HERE!!! We come for an experience and superior work and I can honestly say I have been robbed!!!I went in for gel overlay and they were lumpy and cracked after a week. Technitian was horrible and lazy. The manager is entry level at best and has no idea how to resolve to help customers. MR.TRICOCI this location needs better trained staff for the price you charge!!!!!!

Good work but I think theyre overpriced. Can get the same work done with same quality at much lower prices at Regis or Visible Changes.Too much confusion with signing up for coupons doesnt help much. Just put em up on the site instead of forcing customers to signup with phone numbers to a slow system that needs 24 hours to send a coupon.

I always enjoy my appointments at Mario tricoci. Alyssas is a fabulous colorist and she is sweet and friendly. Chriss gives a great cut and we always have nice conversation. Very happy with Marios!

Get eye lash extensions from Nancy. She is the best eye lash cosmetician I have found. I am lazy and do not like to fuss with makeup. With eye extensions I do not have to wear any makeup and I look 15 years younger! Nancy has changed my life.

This is the only place I will get my nails done. Clean, professional, and the polish lasts very long!

My daughter went in for a balayage and hair TRIM. Not cut but a TRIM. She asked for her dead ends to be trimmed off and agreed to 1-1.5” off the end, keeping her long layers. Nothing more. She comes home with about 5-6” off and NO LAYERS. Just a straight chop. What the hell is this? Do not go to TIM. He has done this to others.

I had very bad experience with hair color not with the blow dry .the product was very strong that I had to wash my hair the following day after I paid 150 for color and blow dry I just wasted my money I had very bad head ache for days. Never again come to this place for color .

Worst ever experience here! Becca cut my hair and she literally chopped them all off leaving my hair till my neck. I told her I don’t want too short and even while cutting i asked her but she said they’re the same length. My bad I trusted her. Worst experience I don’t think I’ll ever go back.

When I travel to Chicago as I do a lot of lectures in the Chicago area and teach some classes on chakra balancing and On intuition 🔮so I needed a quick place to go have my hair done didn’t have time to do it before I left New York to my surprise I got the best color and blowout 💇🏻 Got a facial which was not all fluff very results driven facial however he gave me that extra boost of confidence I needed that day I’d love the salon

It was my birthday and I decided to get balayage done... I am soo upset with the services they offered.. on the website balayage is written categorically $110 depending on the length and density of hair...So I assumed it will be $110 for me as I have very light and short hair but when I spoke to the stylist, I found to my surprise that toning was charged extra for $30 bucks... I have been to many places but no one charges extra for toning.If this wasn’t enough, when I got the color done and hair washed, the stylist left me like that saying u can dry hair on ur own using the dryer... first u can’t just leave anyone with wet hair and after coloring your job is not done till the time hair is dry... when I asked her to dry the hair she asked me $20 extra for the blow dry... I didn’t ask for the blow dry or any styling all I asked to dry my hair that’s all... none of the salon leave u with dripping hair after you get the coloring done and top of that your services are not cheap so client satisfaction does matter...

Roxy was my colorist, she did a great job! She listened to what I was looking for with my highlights, I would highly recommend her.

I love the whole experience here from the locker room with plush robes to the relaxing atmosphere, deep tissue massage and customer service. Ask for Tammie! 😊

As someone from out of town, I tried calling to ask a question before scheduling an appointment online and two separate times I was on hold for over five minutes with no answer. Why would I get services from a place that doesn’t even have someone answering phones?

I would not do a color or highlights with jessica. She basically ruined my hair.. It literally was an awful experience. She was a mess.

I get my hair highlighted every 6 months to cover the grey, and use whatever colorist is available when its convenient for me. Everyone of them does a perfect job! Shoutout to Kevin, Beth, Kelly, Annie, and anyone else I missed! I love my highlights everytime!
