Forbici Salon and Spa

I’ve been coming to Forbici for about 12 years and have always been satisfied with my results. However, yesterday I came in for hair cut and received probably the best cut and service I’ve ever gotten. I came in with VERY long hair that is naturally straight, that had no layers, no movement, no nothing and was ready for a solid cut. Kayce was so patient and descriptive with everything we could do to give me a nice and stylish cut. 6 inches shorter later, I left with the cut I’ve been wanting for quite some time! Worth coming here!

I have been coming to Forbici for a long time, my daughter, my best friend and her daughter, too. We all have Katie as our hair magician who never fails to make us look beautiful. She is talented and gifted always providing positive advice. She is positive, kind, professional and sweet. We love coming every month for our color and other services. Shes perfect and meticulous, accommodating to our schedules. Katie is a vibrant asset to Forbici and we love her.

I really love Dolores pedicures! She is meticulous and does a great job, even with tricky toes. The spa area in the back is the best, very quiet and serene, except when other Forbici employees are working back there they can be pretty loud, despite multiple signs telling the CUSTOMERS to keep the noise level down. That is the only flaw in otherwise perfect service.

I went to Forbicci for the first time one year ago, I saw Jess, I came in with carmel brown base and blonde highlights, I requested a root touch up and partial highlights, the outcome was pink hair, then she took me to the bowl and bleach washed my hair (without my permission) this has destroyed my hair, it was left orange and yellow/white stripes. The manager put a toner and did her best to fix, but with every wash the stipes came back. They gave me 2 free visits due to this. I saw Lisa, she is a Level 6, which I guess means the BEST, however, every time I went to her, when she would rinse the color, it would grab onto the blonde pieces and I would leave without any blonde, Ive had to wash my hair for 2 weeks to get the blonde back. Also without a cut, the charge is over 300$!I had an appointment yesterday but I wanted to speak to a manager about the services, cost, and my concern about always leaving dark - wanted to discuss a solution. The manager said - it was basically my fault that Im not happy.1. They ruined my hair2. I kept going because they promised to color correct for free3. They did not fix my hair- half has broken off due to overlapping bleach on my hair4. I was willing to work with them, I like Lisa, but again, its the clients fault. Isnt it funny, they ruin my hair, they stripped my hair of all pigment without my consent, and Im at fault. Shame on them!

I had an appointment today at 12 Pm for a blowdry and hair treatment with Dalia. She took me at 12 and washed my hair and added the treatment that takes 5 mins on the hair. She left me there 45 min on the chair while she went to cut/ blowdry and color someone’s else’s hair. She was finishing this other clients hair first while I’m here sitting on the chair with treatment. This is very unprofessional for clients as what is the point of making an appointment. What I went to do today should of taken no more than 1 hour. This is very poor customer service as well. I asked for a manager to complain of the service but got her come and be disrespectful to me with the other front desk staff. This is not what you expect from a customer service oriented service. The front desk was not helpful as well. Dalia was telling everyone in the salon that I was complaining like it was high school. The people in there need to grow up and attend the clients well. Very very unprofessional!

First time at this salon and went in for a haircut/blowdry and toner with Monica! She was so sweet and she definitely knew what she was doing! Trusted her with a copper tone and she did an amazing job! I was unsure of what copper tone to do but it came out beautiful regardless! Can’t wait to go back again!

Jess was amazing! I was rlly anxious about trusting someone with my hair but after our consultation she really eased all my worries and my hair looks amazing. I would recommend to all my friends & family.

Sandra has been cutting my hair for more than 15 years and her consistency and attention to detail are greatly appreciated. She always runs on time and is delightful to talk to. She makes my day!!

I visited this salon because my employer gives me a wellness allotment I used to buy gift cards. They didnt take them, on my employer. But they were so amazing went above and beyond. I will definitely be coming back. I got my nails done and they look fabulous. Sophia did so good Im obsessed!!!

The salon is so clean+pretty and it was recently remodeled so it’s extra nice. The staff is friendly, you’ll be offered water/coffee/etc. I get my hair done by Rachel & I would definitely recommend her! She’s so talented & I always have a confidence boost after having my hair done here.

Dolores is amazing, she’s the one who brought me to Forbici. She takes her time with my manicure & doesn’t rush thru it, which I love! She helps me pick the right color that goes with my outfit and is very friendly & does a beautiful job on my nails! I feel very relaxed after my manicure with Dolores and always get many compliments on my nails.

Athena did an amazing job on my first hydrafacial. She took the time to explain what was happening and why. She has a lovely, calm demeanor that enhances relaxation during a spa treatment!

I went to forbici looking for a connection with a hair stylist and someone I could trust. My hair had been untouched and I was very nervous about doing anything to it. Jelena made me feel comfortable about the whole process and walked me through every step of the process. Not only that but she did an amazing job taking my vision and brining it to life. If you’re looking for a balayage definitely book a consultation with Jelena!!

I had my hair cut with Jenny Wills today. I could not have been happier! She definitely worked her magic and made me feel like a brand new woman! She is my new go-to and super stylist! Thank you Jenny!

Omg I love the haircut!!! I have a lot of curly hair and usually I feel like stylists run out of time and theres always something missing. But Stephanie cut my hair in like half the time of most stylists, she was open to some little revisions and the products she used were amazing! My hair was lovely all week!Color was done by Ms Wills (cant remember her first name at the moment) lol. Anyway, great consult, we compromised after we talked about the effects of different treatments on my hair.She made a whole plan for me!! Very awesome! I feel Im in the hands of a pro!

Jenny Wills has been doing my hair for the last 30 years. She had moved out of state for a bit, but now she’s back, and she’s amazing. My hair, and I, missed her. She is not only a color/cut/updo wizard, she’s fun! The salon itself is clean and modern, and parking is easy in the parking garage right next door.

I have been coming to this salon for many years after following my stylist, Kathryn, from another salon in the area (I highly recommend Kathryn as your hair stylist). The salon is clean and their shampoo bowls have a cushion by your neck which makes it so comfortable! The bowls at other salons didn’t have that and got uncomfortable.As previously stated, I specifically recommend kathryn as your stylist. I moved to Texas over a year ago but still fly back to IL every 3-4 months to get my hair done by Kathryn. While that sounds over the top, She has perfected my hair cut and her color services are hard to beat. I tried one stylist in Texas and was disappointed by the color service. Plus, I paid twice as much for a service I didn’t love, therefore the plane ticket is worth it to me (and I fit in visits with friends while there to help justify the trip haha). Side note; Kathryn always remembers where I part my hair which makes me feel valued and remembered! It’s the little things that make a difference.

A Mani/Pedi is always a relaxing pleasant experience with Dolores. She does a great job especially on polish as it lasts a good long time.

I had the most amazing bayalage and cut yesterday with Kalie. My long hair was in shambles when I walked in. Kalie applied the most gorgeous color to refresh my blonde, and cut my hair so it is clean and manageable again. Kalie asked questions as she worked to make sure that I got the exact look that I wanted. She also gave great recommendations for products to help maintain my look.

I have now been there 3 times, twice for a hair cut and once for special occasion makeup and updo. I have had a great experience each time. I have very thick hair and have a hard time finding someone who can cut it well. Rachel is fantastic and Iplan to keep coming here!

I took my daughter to Forbici for a deva cut with Stephanie. I never had a better experience at a salon than I did here! Stephanie was super friendly and extremely knowledgeable. She took her time to explain everything - from how to treat curly hair, products, styling, refreshing… the list goes on and on. There were several other clients there that popped over to say how amazing Stephanie was at explaining everything. My daughter came out looking great and her curls look and feel loved! I will definitely be going back and for myself too!

I can only speak as a guy, but if you need a waxing, Kat is the best. Barely felt anything the entire time. The cost was suprisingly low too. Dont think they know about the inflation thats happened the past two years, but I didnt complain. Couldnt be happier about my experience. Will definitely return in a few months. Thank you so much.

I’ve been coming to Forbici for a few years now, all the hair stylists have been great. Specifically, Kathryn, Jane and I now go to Gina. Gina has been wonderful. My first appointment with her, she cut my bangs the exact way I pictured/explained them, even though I was nervous for a change, they came out ideal. This past week she listened to what color blonde I wanted my highlights, & dark brown low lights, it came out perfectly just as I imagined it. Will be returning!

Jennifer did an amazing no chip pedicure! The owner even came over and said hello and made sure I was enjoying my service. The place was so clean and the color options were so pretty! They even explained to me how their nail care line is a good option for my specific nails, I was experiencing some dehydration. I feel so pampered! Thank you Forbici!

I just got home from getting a deep tissue massage at Forbici Salon. This was HANDS DOWN the best massage I have ever gotten- I had to immediately write a review to recommend this place to everyone! My masseuse was Diane. She was very welcoming, personable, and you could really tell that she wanted you to genuinely enjoy your time there. The service was great at the front desk as well. Everyone makes you feel very welcomed and special. I will definitely be returning there and recommend it for everyone!

I’ve been getting my hair done by Rachel for the past six years and always love the results, my hair has never looked better or been healthier thanks to her knowledge and skill!The rest of the staff from the front desk to shampoo-ers have always been so welcoming and kind. The overall service at the salon is wonderful and I always feel like a valued guest.

The staff is so helpful and welcoming and I love my hair stylist, Christa, whom I followed years ago from another salon. Barbara is just as sweet and a fantastic nail technician and friend. Elena is phenomenal at skin care and has a very gentle demeanor about her; so kind. Everyone seems to love working for the owner, Jackie, and I think shes wonderful; feels like home there.

Staff is friendly. Acoustics are terrible so if youre hearing impaired like me, you will have more trouble than you might already be anticipating. For a place that markets itself as a salon and spa, youd think there would be better ventilation. My eyes were burning the entire time from all of the bleach in the area. Pricing seems on par with the area. Great location right near a parking structure and easily walkable restaurants if you want to make a day of it.

Got a fantastic braid done! It can be hard to find a nice place that does a good job, but it’s here! Pricing is more than fair. Everyone’s friendly :) They got me in on short notice which was pretty nice as well. I’ll be headed back.

Staff is very friendly.... Suzanne cuts my hair and I love how good she is! We love our dogs so its always a party when I go in! Laughing about the shenanigans they each get into!

I have always been happy with Forbici service. Jackie, the manager is great! When things do not go perfectly she goes out of her way to make it right. My stylist, Elle, fell in love and moved to Colorado to pursue her dreams. I am happy for her, but miss her great service. She made sure I got a new stylist. Absolutely impressive! Thats the first word that came to mind when I stepped into the salon for the first time. Ive walked past the front door hundreds of times visiting different downtown Arlington Hts establishments but never Forbici....until last week.I was blown away (no pun intended) with the safety measures they developed to protect both the staff and customers-other salons should take a cue from them! Since it was my first time in the salon I was given a tour-WOW! One can certainly tell a lot of thought and detail was put into its development. From the hair, to make-up areas, mani/pedi to the spa rooms, all beautiful and relaxing!I received a full highlight with a touch of color and a cut. I have never had a stylist be so particular with the color - AND I LOVE IT!! The cut/color was exactly what I wanted-I will definitely be going back! Im looking forward to trying out the other services they offer-particularly the SPA!!If your looking for a new place for hair you will NOT be disappointed! I couldnt be happier with the service I received!! Forbici see you in 5 weeks!!! OR SOONER!! :)

I am so thrilled with the cut, color and style I received at this salon. It was definitely the best I have ever had. The peaceful atmosphere was simply a bonus. Coloring my roots, and then applying in highlights, and low lights throughout my hair, can be challenging but it came out PERFECT!! I highly recommend this place!

I came to forbici for highlights and a haircut, and i’m pretty happy with how the highlights turned out, though i don’t know if they were worth the price. what i am most upset about is the “cut and style” i received. i asked my stylist to cut three or four inches off and she only trimmed half an inch off, an inch at most (i would’ve asked her to cut more but the appointment took way longer than i expected and i didn’t have time). she then asked me how i wanted it styled and i told her she didn’t have to style it, i was happy with it just how it was. the stylist then pressured me into letter her “run a straightener through it” even though i knew i could easily do that at home for free. this is why i was shocked and furious when i looked at my receipt, i was charged $62 for “cut and style”, in addition to the highlights. she barely cut my hair at all and i didn’t want her to style it. plus, later that day i ended up cutting a couple inches off myself because i was unsatisfied with the length, so that was sixty two dollars straight down the drain. moral of the story, only go to forbici if you’re independently wealthy or a trust fund kid.

The best hair service Ive ever gotten! I have been getting balayage & highlights here for years. I will be a long-time client of Abbeys for sure. Great customer service, great salon atmosphere and the employees are the sweetest. Highly recommend!

Very poor communication. I ran 9 minutes late to my haircut appointment and after being asked to wait 10 minutes in their waiting area, a staff member came to tell me that the stylist couldn’t see me because I was late. If this were the case, this should have been communicated to me when I arrived, not after waiting for 10 minutes.Also, this would have been a new stylist for me because the one I used to see regularly moved salons. I was not notified about this change until I called to make an appointment.I will not return to this salon.

Forbici is the best salon! I go to April and I always leave extremely happy with my hair. The employees are professional and friendly and make the experience a good one. The salon is clean and well kept. I definitely recommend them!

Abbey is the BEST colorist/stylist ever. Truly a magician with hair. On top of that shes hilarious and an awesome person. The reception staff is also very friendly and professional. The salon is upscale, but not snooty. LOVE THIS PLACE.

I became a client 17 years ago and although the same stylist does not do my hair I continue to recieve so many compliments. Sandra not only cuts my hair I recieve a mini keratin every 2 to 3 months. It keeps my curl frizz free. Sandra and mini keratin are awesome!

Editing my 5 star review to a 1 star. After being a loyal customer of your establishment for the past 7 years. Sadly, I will never step foot in your salon again. I cannot support a business that publicly shames and wrongfully terminates innocent employees while manipulating the situation to make their business look better. I also cannot support a business that uses a national crisis to line their pockets.

Every aspect of my appointment was done perfectly. I would never go anywhere else for hair coloring, cutting, and Styling.

Staff was overall friendly enough, showed me around the salon, made me feel comfortable. My pedicure was ok but I noticed after I left that polish was smeared on my cuticles on the sides of the skin on my toes. My no chip was terrible. I had gel polish all over my cuticles and skin and the polish had dried my skin to my nails. I had to go home and clean it all up. I ended up taking it off a couple days later because it started lifting from four or five different spots on different fingers because it had been fused to my cuticles. So, beware. I dont recommend this salon for pedicures or manicures. I probably wouldnt visit again to get any other services, because I would be leery, but this was my experience.

This is overall a great spot for hair and spa services. I have been a client for several years and frequently recommend Forbici Salon & Spa to my friends and family. Jackie Lewis is a hands -on owner. I have worked with Jackie and her staff, who are pros in what they do and also keeps current with trends. They are knowledgable, professional and very friendly, creating a positive experience. Worth the visit to downtown Arlington Heights.I’m going to update my review with some recent photos of my last visit with Doni. Doni has helped my hair health and colors and cuts to get it right. I have a crazy schedule sometimes so I have used quite a few different stylists. I personally can recommend Doni, Lisa, April, Nicole, and they are all knowledgeable and skilled. Trisha is my favorite for facials. Pamper yourself at this salon. It is worth it.

I had a wash and blow dry by Maggie. The best scalp massage ever and my hair looked great.Everyone was friendly, and the coffee was perfect. Definitely going back!

Gentlemen, all I can say is that I have never received more compliments about a haircut like I did after coming here. I would highly recommend Joana if you’re trying to look for a new hairstyle. Her service is the result of a great work environment provided from Jackie Lewis the operating owner.

Dated salon and stylists, owner is knows in the neighborhood to have an extremely harsh bullying personality. Majority styles seen remind me of Steel Magnolia movie. The chairs at wash sinks are old, broken arms, super uncomfortable and the water is frigid, not relaxing! My stylist kept taking breaks to brag about how much she loves to drink beer and she doesnt care that she is the mom that looks frazzled taking her daughter to school every morning while she is still in pajamas. Poor kid! YIKES!

I have been going to Forbicis for close to a decade for multiple services. Each and every time I have received excellent, professional treatment. That professionalism has only increased since COVID protocols have been enacted. This is a place that keeps you safe and follows stringent procedures. I have never been disappointed!

I had been following this salon on IG for about a month since I had an upcoming trip to IL. I decided to cancel my appointment as their political views are widely visible. They had publicly shamed an employee for expressing opposing views. It seems pretty disrespectful, as a company, to do this. I feel alienated as a client, and I would hate to be treated poorly because I do not agree with their views.Ill just not go in. No, thank you.

Perfect color and always the best choice for my cut!

I have been going to Forbici for years , Jordyn is my go to girl. She is amazing at everything she does, highlights,cut,color and the best pedi I have ever had! when she washes my hair I get this wonderful scalp massage and she will wax my eyebrows while Im deep conditioning My sister and I had a wedding to go to and I had my hair done the day before, Im sitting in the car outside the salon waiting to pick my sis up, ( who also sees Jordyn) and here comes Jordyn with a comb and some spritz to fluff me up. I mean where esle can you get that kind of service! Jordyn has taught me so much about my hair, what colors look best with MY skin color or the cut that goes best with my face shape. she talks me through it on how to style my hair as she does it. She recommends the products that work best with my hair without beening pushy, but remember you cant do what she does if you dont use what she uses. I highly recommend Forbici and Jordyn she is not only my hair stylist and therapist ( shes a great listener ) but shes a new friend that I made at Forbici. THANKS JORDYN!!!

Yesterday I experienced an astonishing response by a client taking my jacket. the salon called the lady her name is Nancy she didn’t think that she needed to return the jacket she seemed to be very happy with my new Northface jacket and she left this dirty White gray (my is Snow White) jacket hanging for me ? NOT!! I must agree with her, I would prefer the new Northface jacket, however, there’s another minor problem with her not admitting itsNot your jacket, therewere black gloves in the jacket and maybe one of my pups potty bags. I would think at some point you would know that jacket isn’t yours and you would return it and you wouldn’t wait until Saturday. So I went home without a jacket in the cold bc I wasn’t about to wear an unwashed Columbia jacket

This place is the best of Chicago and very friendly lm so happy whit my color hair she make a good job l was embarrassing whit my hairs lol 👒💇🏼💆🏼🙍🏼🙆🙆😼🙀 but thank God l feel another woman she do the best color hair for me she is amazing l will recommend this salon ! Best facial Ive had in years!

My hair is absolutely perfect. Christa is incredible, and I am thrilled with every haircut, blowout, up-do, highlights, etc. Cannot recommend Christa or Forbici highly enough.

Client for many years, then my Stylist left .. today I had appointment with Nicole she did terrible job left me with color For over 48 minutes . Then I watched how she is doing other lady hair … basically Terrible experience and to make it even worse manager calls me trying to explain me how she didn’t do anything wrong and I have a much darker roots terrible please don’t go to lady Nicole

Well I wish I could provide a review but their website is broke and I cant buy gift cards. Then when I called them to buy one for my wife, they put me on multiple holds. When I finally talked to someone, she put me on hold again. going somewhere else.

Jasmine was best, the best hairdresser is the one who listen, observe, understand and then perform haircut slowly and patiently and she possess all those qualities..

I have been to Forbici Spa several times for massages. BOTH of the masseuses are great. It is better here than going to a franchise kind of a massage place. I highly recommend.
