Extremely disappointing experience (zero stars is not allowed). First, they sold me the wrong price for the chemical peel to have me sign the membership, and I found out after my first session when I had to pay almost double the price that was previously discussed. The manager (Theresa Williams) refused to return me my credit card until I agreed to pay and replying “you signed the contract” instead of listening to what I had to say: that her employee (Brandy) provided me the wrong price for the chemical peel package. I was obliged to return to them because any call I made was left unanswered, every visit I made the manager wasn’t present... and I did not want to lose my money. My surprise... After finishing my second appointment they gave me a bag with half filled containers with the products (pic 1) they were supposed to be given in a sealed box (pic 2). I just couldn’t trust the content of that bag and discarded it... lost $38, retail price. Again, I kept calling and going personally to finally end my membership... after one month and a half of trying they finally cancelled the membership and reimbursed the payment of a third month that they said they would not be charging me. In terms of results: The mediocre results of the two peeling sessions couldn’t do enough for the months of stress dealing with such poor and ill-mannered costumer service.
I have maintained a membership for 2 years at this location. My favorite therapist was working there and for the most part that WAS the only thing good about this location until she left.The staff show a false sweetness that smiles in your face but does actually nothing to help you with your requests or concerns. The policys that they have seem to change frequently. The managers are no managers at all, more like a bunch of assistants that pass the buck between themselves as part of a runaround to not help with any issues.The owner or anyone able to make decisions dont get back to their patrons. The staff say they call multiple times however my call log shows no such calls. I can only assume its a lie to cover the negligence.All in all the 16 paid for massages that I was never able to use is $1120 waste of money and this location is the worst. Conditions are clean, but I dont blame the therapists for leaving as quickly as they come in. The people so called in charge are just saccharin sweet but are unwilling to help in a reasonable way.Even after calling and emailing Massage Envy Corporate multiple times and was promised calls from Federal Hill within 48hrs no one from the location called at all.Federal Hill Massage Envy is mismanaged
I am writing in reference to an issue at the above store. I, perhaps, waited too long to do so but wanted to give the Owner a chance to speak with me and she has refused to do so.As a fairly long-term client (in fact two states) I maintained a Massage Envy membership even after relocating from Bend, OR to Baltimore, MD.I am frustrated by the ownership at the Federal Hill location.Several weeks ago I showed up for my appointment on Sunday to find the store closed with no sign on the door indicating why. I called several times with no answer so I left a bit frustrated.Over one hour later I received a call from the Manager who explained why the store was closed. The explanation was reasonable and rational- the police had asked her to vacate as there was concern about a person on a nearby rooftop. I completely understood the reasoning but felt that the Manager was being petty and condescending when I asked a few questions. The questions were:“ well I get it but I was able to get to the store with no issue on time since the restriction had been lifted. Why didn’t you have someone there at that time since the issue was resolved?”“Why did it take well over one hour to return my calls since there was no longer a safety issue and I could have returned.”When she got petty and childish I told her I thought she was acting untoward and requested that the owner call me to discuss it. I gave her 48 hours for a return call and never received one.I am now leaving that store and considering changing my allegiance to Massage Envy as a result.
Terrible customer service both from the front desk and from the message lady that I was assigned with. I had to wait for 30 minutes in the waiting room because the message lady did not know that she had me on your schedule. The whole time she was fussing,in a rush, not professional and rude. The front desk also did not explain that it was just 45 minutes hands on message that you have to pay $80 for, because as they have explained, you need 5 minutes to change your clothes and 5 minutes consultation. Seriously? In fact they already knew what you wanted when you call to make an appointment. Also they will give you a bottle of cream with no labels or instructions on it for you to use. After the session, they showed some simple movements of how to relax your shoulders, but because they didn’t know the entire proper way. They said you can YouTube it. If that’s the case, why am I spending $80 for?
The massage therapist, Jeremy was very good. However, the front desk girl is horrible. I booked a 90 minute session a week ago and when I got there they “had trouble finding my reservation.” Then today I tried to book a reservation for this afternoon and she told me I have to have a credit card on file to book a reservation. I have been to several massage envy’s and this has never been the case.
Customer service is horrible. If I could give it 0 stars I would. I called to make an appointment, the person that answered the phone, had no time to be bothered. I called back to inquire about the following week, the person put me on hold and left me there for 10 minutes and 10 sec. While I held the line, I called from my husbands phone and the same person answered and assisted me, while I could hear the prompt for the other line being on hold. Which was me by the way.Thank you Federal Hill Massage Envy for showing me that you dont value your customers. When you have quite a few reviews with the same complaint over the years and nothing has been done to rectify this. Thank you for showing me how you treat your loyal, paying customers. This was a cheap lesson learned, to take my business and dollars elsewhere.
I know when you see an esthetician you will get feedback on your skin, but I didn’t appreciate the bedside manner of the girl who did my peel. She kept saying over and over that I’m red and that I have acne, ( even though I had maybe 3 pimples) and I didn’t get my money’s worth at all. She barely did anything because “I was red” The last thing I want when I go for a treatment for my skin is to be bluntly told over and over again how horrible my skin is. And I have good skin, so I hate to know what she says to someone with severe acne. I paid 2 credits for a half done peel that has made NO difference to my skin, and to have my confidence lowered. And then she decided to continue discussing my “red face and need of extractions” in the hallway where other people are walking by, adding to the humiliation.She barely did a peel so I paid to be bluntly criticized, and since she is the only skincare person at that location I will not be back. You need to have a certain amount of tact in that business and she does not have it. She also discussed the “very bad acne” of the person that was there before me which I found very unprofessional. This is the worst massage envy experience I have had and I am tempted to cancel my membership as soon as I have had the required year timeline.
I am a member of Massage Envy Spa and this location wowed me. I had a 2 hour session, and I was given excellent whole body relaxation, with extra care to my back, and hot stone and hot towel treatments...something I never got in my hometown clinic. Definitely ask for Minh Le! He is amazing :) Will definitely return before I leave Baltimore.
Ive gotten a 60m massage at this location, which was subpar at best. The staff there are inconsistent and constantly changing. I just recently went in for a 60m massage, which I never received due to the therapist being late. The staff here are unprofessional, lack punctuality and skill.
Lack of knowledge on questions I asked about prenatal massages. Or why pregnant women can’t be exposed to lavender scents. Only concerned with payments not the actual customer. Front desk customer service was terrible. Canceled my membership!!!
The massage therapist there damn near crippled me. I put on the paper to be careful of my neck and lower back. Large black woman have me a massage and pressed her arm across my lower back and put her whole body weight down on me. That was 3 months ago and Im still having problems with my lower back and siacta nerve from my back to my butt all the way down my leg. Im not sure what type of certification process they go through there but they dont know what the hell they are doing.
I have a lot of massages every month so I have plenty of experience with places and this location was very good! Not too hard or soft, and really focused on my pressure points and knots so although it felt gentle, I was really sore afterward, a good sore though!
Anthony is great! He is knowledgable and nice and did an excellent job on a few trigger spots I had in my lower back and shoulders. Highly recommend.
Terrible, the locations dont communicate, they dont call you back. I have been trying to cancel my membership for 2 months and they dont call me back-- even the general manager! DO NOT get any massage envy membership. Such a headache
I work with Josh now that Mr Minh is gone. It takes awhile to build up a trust rapport and rhythm with a therapist. I like Josh Ill continue to work with him.
Ive typically had really good experiences but this massage was mediocre at best.
My favorite masseuse is Danielle. I have subscribed to their memebership program.
