Soleful Massage

My friend told me about this massage but to be surprised that they can’t see us because we are late.We were not late my friend came on time for the appointment that he scheduled four days ago and was told to come back later. When we showed up later they told us that they can’t see us and we are late.

Booked an appointment four days ago at Soulful massage to be at Saturday april 20 on 7PMI have appeared 5 minutes before my appointment and been told to leave and come again in a half of an hourI came back after half an hour me and a friend of mine based on what we have been told to be surprised that there is no appointments for us and they cant see usWe have informed the front desk that we are going to report this incident to management and they seemed not to care if we reported it or notI and my friend are regular customers at Soulful massage for three years now and this is the second time something like this happens, they are not professionals

I was initially excited to visit this establishment based on the previous reviews. However, after my first experience/visit with Soleful Massage it was very disappointing. The first issue was with the online booking process. I went to book my appointment online, but after submitting your appointment a link appears that says “see other responses”. When you click on that link you can see everyone else who filled out the form with their personal phone number. That was a red flag.When I arrived for my appointment (first one for the day) I spoke with the young lady at the desk. I told the lady that I was here for my appointment and also mentioned that on their website it mentioned when booking that first time visitors receive the first 30 minutes of their appointment with a four-hand massage for free. Judging by her response I could tell that they weren’t aware of an appointment made for me, or the offer from the website. She went to the back and was able to resolve it with perhaps the manager, but that was another red flag.When the massage started everything seemed okay, but then the two ladies kept talking to each other for about the first 10-15 minutes of the massage. I’m not sure what was going on because nothing was communicated directly to me. The four-hand massage portion itself was a nice experience, but it was pretty underwhelming. The motions from both masseuses were extremely repetitive without any real pressure. Then at the 30-minute portion of the massage one of the ladies said “Sir, my 30 minutes of the massage is done. Can you tip me now?”. THIS HAPPENED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE MASSAGE!! I had to say a few times that I will tip at the end of the massage. She finally accepted that and left. That was ANOTHER red flag.The masseuse that remained then continued my massage. However, to be completely honest it felt that at times she was trying to find her way through the rest of the massage. She kept revisiting muscles that she already massaged with a lackluster effort in my humble opinion. It was better than the first 30 minutes, but it was still very underwhelming.In summary, never was I asked what my name was. Neither of the masseuses introduced themselves to me and told me their names, nor asked how I was doing. On top of that there was a lot of conversation in the hallway with what seems to be someone was cleaning in the back as well which all could be heard during the entire massage. I can honestly say that I cannot recommend this establishment. Perhaps it was an off day, or maybe since it was the first appointment of the day it was the reason for a subpar experience. Nevertheless, I would expect that if I am paying for a service to at least be treated decently.

My massage was supposed to be deep tissue and all I received was lite rubs. Although the lite rubs were nice I paid for deep tissue. My back is still in pain. I have been here multiple times and have always had a great experience except the last experience. Not sure of the girls name as she didn’t ask my either. Very disappointed

I called for a noon appointment and the girl who answered the phone said no problem. I arrive and she is sitting on a stool outside and asked me if I was the one that called earlier. I said yes, and she asked how long of a massage I wanted. I said one hour. She said no. Half hour only. I said OK, how much is a half hour? She said $45 plus $60 tip. So I said, you want me to pay you $105 for a half hour massage before I even get the massage. She said yes, things are changing. The worst ever. I have been here before over the last five years and have never run into this situation.

So this is what happened, I have been going here for about 4 yrs. Starting last year, they have all new people and employees and the quality degraded a lot. I think it is taken over by some people but they kept the same business name. Went from 5 starts experience in the past to a one or two stars.

I decided last minute to see if I could find a place to get a massage on a Saturday night. I wasnt very hopeful. I called Soleful Massage- open until 10pm on Saturday, and they were able to take me. It was, without a doubt, the best massage I have ever had. Minnie was fantastic. The perfect combo of pressure and relaxing touch. Her work on my feet was outstanding. And my stiff neck feels like butter today. It isnt the most glamorous place, but I will definitely go back. Thank you! I found my new massage go-to.

Wow. My Mom, Aunt and I came here as a birthday treat for my Aunt. Not only were all three massages INCREDIBLE, but the owner had a birthday cake waiting for her! I had Anna and she was absolutely fantastic. I will definitely be back.

Michelle my therapist basically lied to my face, i told her i wanted a back/neck/and head massage. She gave me a back massage and that was it. I told her you didnt even massage my neck or head she smiled and said ohh. And insisted I tip more...shes lucky she got anything at all, i went here because my NECK WAS SORE! Never again will i come back, Im sorry but this is why you should only do business with American owned business. $80 down the drain.

I happened upon this little gem over the weekend after my eye caught their Grand Opening sign. From the moment I walked inside, I was impressed by the friendliness of the staff and the cleanliness of the salon. I decided to get the $36 Hour Long Foot Massage. It includes a Chinese herbal foot bath, a head, neck, shoulder, and back massage, and of course the foot massage as well. The foot massage is performed in an open area with beautiful music playing in the background. Since this is a full clothed massage (aside from bare feet), privacy is not a necessity. There are separate rooms for the body massages. All I could think about as my hour was ending was, how much Id like to purchase some gift cards so my family and friends can enjoy this amazing experience as well. As I left, I was happy to receive a bottle of water as well. I will definitely be back soon!

Just had my first massage here this morning and it was wonderful! The therapist felt where I had problem areas and zoned right in on them. She was careful not to use too much pressure. Very nicely decorated rooms, tranquil music, Im totally relaxed!!! Ill definitely go back!

Its really hard to find a good asian massage around, but this place can offer you one.Masseuse Anna know how to provide you a good massage.Deep tissue massage was fantastic.I feel myself well rested and relaxed.Definitely will come back.Thank you

Ive been twice now-- both times were EXCELLENT. I had the one hour foot massage, which included 30 minutes of feet, and 30 minutes of back, neck, shoulders, arms, hands, legs, and face and scalp. They are WONDERFUL, PROFESSIONAL, and got rid of all of my aches and pains. This is going to be a monthly treat Im going to give myself- I need it and my body needs it.Thank you Soleful Massage! And thank you to the owner and employees for being so kind and courteous. Cant wait to come back again!

Ive been to Soleful Massage 5 times now... twice for body massages and 3 times for foot massages (both 30 and 60 minutes). Ive been very happy with the quality of the massage, attention to detail, and the techniques used. In most cases, Ive been spontaneous, and have never had to wait for more than 20 minutes. A real treat!!

Very very bad massage. I had a long day , I tried booking appointments at massage envy , but didnt find it as its same day appointments . I found this on the way. The person who did massage was on call fighting with her boy friend in Chinese for entire 1 hour...she literally doesnt know how to do massage. Worst massage center ever ...Looks scary Nd goofy...I went for deep tissue but she didnt even do normal back massage...my body is paining a lot...she charged 70$ for 1 hour ...she did only for 30 minutes ...wste of money and waste of my time ...she showed up after 20 minutes of i went into room...pls pls guys dont go fr this. Its a bad place ....people here seems very scary and try to do some scary things...And at last she is asking for TIP !! I said u didnt do well , she said Im sorry yes I messed up im talking with my boy friend ....sooo bad...unprofessional attitude.Hope there is no 1 star option in Google reviews so that I can give them 0 stars

The 45 minute head/scalp for $45 was awesome! I think it is one of the few massage places that offers this service. (At least I have not seen it advertised elsewhere.) I cannot say if it cures headaches since I did not have on going in, but it sure felt great. If I was rich I would get one every day.

Amazing! 90 minutes of pure bliss. Beautiful calm music, strong massage of your choice (you can do medium, you can do hard, you can do shiatsu, etc... ) and no talking. I fell asleep several times, I never fall asleep. For a tired mom or anyone really, this was incredible. Full body, feet, hands, head, face (they ask first) shoulders. LOVED it!!!

Worst massage of my life. Got the 30 min head massage. Laid down into the paper towel covered face hole and immediately regretted my decision. As the therapist began her assault on my scalp, rapidly and aggressively removing a layer of skin from my head with the tips of her knife fingers, the table pressed painfully against my face and nose. I readjusted multiple times and briefly considered leaving before simply resigning myself to thinking about happier times and massages. The only thing pulling me out of my daydream was the occasional sound of gurgling water or slapped flesh from the adjacent room. Left in a daze...still recovering...

I took my wife here for the Chinese traditional foot massage and elected to get one, myself.Both my wife and I really enjoyed it! Soothing music, attentive masseuses, pleasant-smelling oils... It was all very relaxing, very enervating. My wife went in with a sore neck and shoulder from a pinched nerve and came out feeling totally back-to-normal. The foot massage really included most elements of both foot massage and body massage: Head, face, neck and shoulders, lower back, knees, calves and feet were all massaged as part of the total package. The advertised price was $39 for the hour-long massage, but was discounted on the night we went to $35 each. It was a great deal for a great massage!

This is by far the best massage I have ever had in my life. Amy is so amazing!!!!! This is a place I will be definitely coming to often. She hit ever place in my body I was having issues with and I didnt even have to tell her. I reccomend this massage place for the excellent service and the price.

Made an appointment for this afternoon. When I got there, she apologized but told me she forgot about the appointment. She hadnt yet taken in the walk in that was there...but chose him over my booked but forgotten appointment. This was the second time they blew off an appointment that I had scheduled. Never go back! Found Chinese Foot Spa at 1709 N. Rand Road in Palatine, called them, went in and Leo gave me a wonderful foot, back and head massage! Well, Soleful, you lost me as a customer for life, but I found a new sanctuary...and now so will others!

I had several weeks of neck and lower back pain. A friend recommended I try a massage at Soleful Massage to help with pain relief. My experience at Soleful Massage was excellent. The facilities were clean and the staff was friendly. The massage therapist was superb. She was very knowledgable about the acupressure technique. I had immediate relief of discomfort and feel better than I have in weeks!

The best head massage I ever have. I had this headache and neck pain for hours. The head massage I was given from Xiaoling was amazing! everywhere she touched on my head felt soooo good. Every spot she pressed I felt it was exactly where bothed me. I could not believe all my headache and neck pain was gone after the headmasssge. Highly recommend this place. They sure know what they are doing! Thanks Soleful Massage!

Came here for a massage because i had torn a muscle and was sore from a recent power lifting meet. atmosphere was very relaxing and calming and it was convenient that they had a free shower to wash off the massage oils.very reasonable price as well and i left much more relaxed and loosened up than when i came in.

My mother goes to this place and lately she found “Amy” who takes care of her. “Amy” is really good, friendly, professional and the BEST. Ever since we found Amy here, there is nowhere else we want to go except Soleful massage.

It was unbelievable. I had a very bad headache and went to Soleful Massage. After 45 minutes of head massage, my headache was ALL GONE! Love their music. I wish they open an other shop in my area.

I don’t recommend this place cause the play games, when you go there they tell you sorry cash only and the machine is down and then I said that’s fine but you should say when I called, and then she said that they’re available only 30 min not one hourToo much drama

This is my go to place!! I get full body massage 60min. Yaya has seen me several times but everyone Does a wonderful job. Very professional and easy. I hate when people talk, Im here to relax. This place is it.

60 minute foot massage was only 50 minutes, staff talking/shouting at each other throughout so I couldn’t relax at all. Barely touched my shoulders. Disappointed

We drove by Buffalo Grove the other day and Ive tried their head massage. The acupoints they apply to on my head helps me to relieve tension and stress from work. I feel so relaxed afterwards. I will defiantly come back :)

Amy is very professional prompt and responsive to my messages. I would highly recommend her at Soleful Massage. The facility is very clean and the all the staffs are very friendly.

Not the best, same old upsale to 60min massage, didnt focus on area I asked and not the most experienced masseuse to put it politely.

The massage is amazing. I live almost an hour away but I make the effort to come in.

They will hunt you down and insist you tip 20%…even if you didn’t think it was worth it. I can’t go there anymore just based off principle.

Had a deep tissue massage and I have to say the experience was good, prices are good, its a thumbs up.
