We had an amazing time! The DJ was great and the service was out of this world! Hannah was our server and could not have been better! She made sure we had everything we could possibly need. Can’t wait to go back!
I came here for my Bachelorette Party and this bar was the best bar I have ever been too!!!! Vibes were so great, came back two nights in a row and the best service so far - 10/10 recommend :) Also the girls are so pretty and just amazing with service again 10/10
ABSOLUTELY LOVED NICOLE!! What a gem!!! Celebrated a bachelorette trip with her and she made us feel welcomed and had such a fun time with us. Really made our night special and celebrated. What an amazing women to have a great time and celebrate with us!! :)
Visited this location with a few friends.Initially, thought it was a nice establishment, While there, my card went missing. When I tried to track it down bartender got lippy with me.Went to order a diet coke, bartender kicked me and my group out. Will never come back to this location.
Nicole was absolutely amazing!! We had a bachelorette party and she was so great!! She celebrated with us and was awesome with recommendations and everything!! Definitely telling all my friends to grab a table with her!!
Nichole was absolutely an amazing server!! This was our first bottle service and we did it for our bride to be! She was so welcoming and inviting! 100/10 service no doubt!
Hannah was so lovely, she really looked out for our bride for a bachelorette party while we were here. So very nice and would recommend
As a local business, we love Ink! The staff and our girl Hannah have such a fun vibe. 10/10 all around.
Very nice decor and atmosphere. Started with the hush puppies and they were very good. A little dry but the sauce that’s on top of them makes up for it. I got a cheeseburger with fries. Their take on fries is pretty cool, thin sliced potatoes essentially. Wife got shrimp jambalaya, it was very spicy but also good. Ability to watch a sports game with some light background music was enjoyable too. Service was sort of slow because we went on January 1st and they weren’t supposed to be open / understaffed because people were outside while they were doing inventory so they opened up the store. Not a bad visit.
Amazing customer service! Bottles girls are so hospitable and care to every and any need of mine and my friends! Victoria the GM made sure we had a night to remember ! 10/10 RECOMMEND!
Nicolle was amazing! She made our bachelorette experience unforgettable. the bride was beyond happy. 10/10 experience. would def come back as long as nicolle is the one working with us!
Nicole was an amazing server and really went above and beyond for my bachelorette party!! I could not have picked a better place to celebrate my special night and she deserves the world!! A QUEEN!!!
Had a great night out! Will be back again tomorrow! Patios, music, atmosphere are on point.Great service by James, Eric, Glenn and Victoria. Made our event superb!
$10 for girls $20 for guys, music is decent, lights cut on at 1:30am but it says it doesnt close until 2am
Ink and Ivy is a very cool restaurant with a diverse selection of fresh ingredients and chef inspired cuisine! The real magic is in the details of the dishes, the focus on customer experience, and what it adds to the Charleston food scene. The food is all served attractively, with an emphasis on it smelling delicious too! Ink and Ivy is well staffed and the theme of the place showcases some great art. There is one painting on the exposed brick as you walk up to the second floor that I found really cool. I didnt post it because yall should just walk in and see it!In the first picture is the bouillabaisse served in the cast iron pot with fresh herbs on top so when your server takes the top off for you there is an explosion of mouthwatering scent that hits you. This is their signature dish, the chef chooses all of the ingredients daily so you know the seafood is great! The muscles, shrimp, the grouper were all incredible! The second picture was the steak sandwich. When I say it disappeared as soon as it hit the table I mean it. The steak was so tender it was like butter, it did not come chopped but it didnt need to be it was SO TENDER! I would serve this to your grandmother and she could cut it with a fork. The bread was freshly made and you can tell. Seriously it was just too good!Third are the fried oysters, they were the perfect color, they were served on a base of black bean paste, with homemade salsa and salmon pearls. Super good!
Tonight June 1st 2024 I got hit by a cork on the side of my head from someone’s VIP section. I was in line for rooftop bar when it happened. Went to the bartender in a black shirt, dark brown hair with facial hair and he said and I quote: “ what do you want me to do about it”. OKAY BRO. You could at least of said I’m sorry that happened, we will make sure it won’t happen again. But no! No kindness. It hurt and I have a bruise and a headache. Do better and make sure where you shoot that cork. Be better. The workers need to take a “how to be kind to customers 101 course. XoXo.
I called 3 weeks before my big night where I was proposing to my girlfriend. They made my night absolutely outstanding. Victoria, the manager, had every last detail covered. And all the severing girls were absolutely amazing - To name just a few- Corrine, Cassidy, Caellin. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
Some drunk kid was being too much and the manager came out and deescalated every thing very gracefully. And he was abusive! Ink is amazing.
Had an amazing time celebrating my besties bachelorette party!! I would definitely recommend stopping in the atmosphere is amazing!
Hannah was so nice, here for a bachelorette party and she really went out of her way to make our night even better!
We stopped in for a drink when it opened at 5pm. We were the only people there. We had the lychee cocktail and it was fantastic, although sweet. The bar tender was friendly and it was a nice place to cool down. The decor/vibes were cool, seems like a fun place to go to at night. Their rooftop bar was closed.
The same manager, long brown hair, short, disrespectful and rude, is continuously making this place an irritating bar to visit. I paid to get into an event on my BIRTHDAY and the manager shoulder checks me in the middle of the dance floor. I had a confused an annoyed look as anyone would having just been hit incredibly hard. She started yelling at me telling me she was the manger and she was pushed too, essentially rudely telling me to “get over it” not apologizing once. I looked at her and said “okay and?” and she immediately kicked me out because she had an attitude. Being the manager I expect a much higher quality personnel and not a disrespectful, entitled child. This is not the first time she’s yelled at me over something stupid. The first time I was dancing too close to her table. God forbid anyone get near her or she has a conniption. Please remove her. She ruins the experience for everyone.
Brianna was the best server. Have had table service before at many different clubs. She was the best.
Me and my friends went for my birthday 02/04 and it was so much fun! There was a mixed crowd and really good music mixed with hip hop and pop. The atmosphere is great as well and I loved the color theme I definitely will come back!
This is an AMAZING venue with great artwork and has fantastic potential! The service team needs to step it up a notch, but where is that not the truth these days?!? The owners knew what they were doing when they designed the concept of something for everyone with the menu, prices, and building to match! The most Upper King establishment you can get, it has a great location and is positioning itself for great success! Worth a visit just to see the artwork on the walls!
Hannah was amazing and made our night so special. It was so fun and I highly recommend!!!!
We booked the VIP Mezzanine area for my wifes birthday and we had a BLAST! Victoria and her team checked all of the boxes and made sure we had everything we needed. Victoria and her staff was very professional and courteous when meeting our needs and it made for a very memorable night for my wife and our party. The was our first time coming to Charleston to kick back and have a good time, and the experience we had at Ink Rooftop Bar & Lounge did not disappoint!!!
So fun for my friend’s bachelorette! We got a table and bottle service. Great for a big group and very fun.
We always have a good time celebrating at ink. They take good care of us and their establishment and we’ll always choose Ink for our bottle service nights. Special shoutout to our server Skylar, y’all are awesome!!
Dont understand its 4.2 Rating it was simply great, i got a jalapeno cheeseburger wrap. All the ingredients were some of the freshest ive tasted and was cooked great, seasoned great.Live music was tasteful and great.I had their root beer cocktail. The drink was sizeable, cheap, delicious, and plenty stronger than other restaurants i have tried. They were attentive to customers. They had GREAT sauce in their food. Great as in probably the tastiest seasoning and sauce ive had. And the menu and prices were totally spot on.This spot is what i expect of any restaurant period. Good job to the owners.
Hubby and I were walking up King St. looking for food, headed in the general direction of a popular burger joint, when this place lured me in with a sidewalk sign reading Bahn Mi. It was an excellent moment of serendipity that led to an amazing meal. We were greeted warmly by the staff as the kicking AC sapped the heat from our sunkissed skin. The atmosphere was loose and comfortable, but clean and hip. We were seated by a sweet hostess and Kevin, our waiter, promptly took our drink orders and produced ice water as if by magic. They dont have a ton of beers, but their selection is choice. I got my favorite Stiegl grapefruit Radler and hubby ordered a Manhattan. Mine was chilled to frigid perfection and while his was not the best Manhattan he had ever had, he said it was right up there in the Top 5.Kevin took our appetizer and entree orders at the same time, and soon we were presented with my lovely cup of she-crab soup, loaded with handpicked blue crab (I can tell) and dosed with the perfect splash of sherry. Little potato pieces and the tiniest carrots enhanced the silky broth without overpowering or obscuring the gorgeous meat. Hubbys shrimp taco app was a meal in itself, with 3 tacos presented beautifully in a stand, loaded with delicately fried shrimp and a side of tantalizing pickled veggies that were the perfect foil to the creamy aioli sauce.Dangerously close to being full, we faced our entrees, delivered at the perfect moment when we had finished the last bites of our appetizers. Kevin is on point! My bahn mi was everything I hoped it could be, with tender filet cooked to moist perfection, seasoned boldly with chicory and other exotic spices. The bread was fresh, soft on the inside and crusty on the outside, the better to hold in the meats savory juices. There was a handful of cilantro on top which some may find overwhelming, but I found the perfect counterbalance to the rich meaty flavor. It was a symphony!Hubbys burger was ok, a hair overcooked and underseasoned, but the meat was flavorful on its own, the veggies fresh as could be, and the fries were worth writing home about! So crisp on the outside, with an almost panko crunch, and light, steamy, fluffy perfection inside. We headed out with leftovers in tow, blissfully full and glowing with pleasure in a meal well-done. We will definitely be back for more!
We tried Ink n Ivy because the restaurant we planned to go to was closed. We had seen the reviews when looking for somewhere to go, but chose the other one because it was less expensive. However, this had received good ratings as well. The server was very attentive and accommodating and the food was good. We were pleased at our change of plans.
Nicole is absolutely amazing! Here for a bachelorette trip and she made it so fun!
Best club in Charleston! Drinks and staff were 10/10. Location, venue and music were exactly what we needed to start/ end our night out on the town. The bouncer was incredibly thoughtful and went above and beyond to make sure we were safe. Can’t thank him enough!!Love this club and will be back next time in town
Nicole was amazing! Went above and beyond for our bachelorette!!! Would highly recommend.
Went on a girls trip to Charleston 5.14.21 - 5.17.21 and decided to go to the INK LOUNGE for our last night in town. We ordered 7 different plates for everyone to try something. The food was PHENOMENAL and the drinks were fantastic. The waitress was so sweet. I recommend this place to anyone who is traveling through the area.
We loved everything about this place, especially our server Brianna she was so attentive!
Nicole was amazing! This is our second time visiting Ink with a bachelorette and they have great service
I was celebrating Nicole was absolutely amazing! She was fast and efficient and friendly!
Nicole was great!! Ink is the spot for a good night. Good dancing, vibes, and staff!!!
Nicole was attentive to our table and a great vibe. I recommend Ink for any special occasion.
Hannah really went out of her way to make my bachelorette party even better!
Nicole was so sweet and helpful! I had an amazing time for my girls’ bachelorette.
Great music and vibes! Got a table and the service was top tier
We had such a good time, awesome DJ, our server Brianna was incredible
Hannah was amazing !! Highly request in bottle service
We loved our girls night out at ink, our server Brianna was amazing
Fun place but EXPENSIVE! 2 High Noons cost like $26 - crazy!!Added: They charged our credit card 2 months after we were there!!! 2 months!!
We had the most amazing time at Ink. From the atmosphere to the drinks to the music. It was the perfect mix of rap, throwbacks, house music, pop, classics. DJ for me is SO huge for a good night out. We celebrated a bachelorette party (if you are I highly recommend. Such good photo ops!) so we wanted everything perfect and it was just that. We worked with a different promoter who left but the GM took such good care of us. Honored everything the last promoter said, gave us 2 complimentary bottles of champagne, had the funniest & cutest signs. The bottle girls were amazingggggg. Always checking if we need something, making us shots. Like the whole experience was just truly unmatched. We went to a few other clubs the night before and this one was by far the best and treated the best!
Got bottle service and it was honestly the best we’ve had in Charleston. Request Brie!
Nicole took care of us for the night, appreciate yall for everything.
We held our wedding after party in the Mezzanine at INK on May 13th. We rented out the entire Mezzanine section, which ended up being perfect for our group – We had our own private bathroom, expedited entry into the club, and plenty of seating. We worked with Michols throughout the planning process and had such a great experience with him! He was available to answer any questions we had, give us suggestions as to which location to use inside the club, and made sure our group was well taken care of the night of our wedding. We had so much fun with our friends and the INK staff – It was the absolute perfect way to end our wedding night. We highly recommend booking your wedding after party at INK!
This place sucks. Overpriced cover and drinks. Spend your whole checking account if you want to. For a mediocre sTime
Brianna was amazing we had such an amazing bachelor experience would recommend!
Brianna is the best server at ink, 10/10 recommend for bottle service
Nicole was amazing, a perfect night with friends.
This club is amazing, reminds me of Miami. Bartenders are extremely professional and polite, specifically James and Greg! When I want table service I always request Joey, she’s very accommodating and always makes our experience 10x better. Anytime we needed something Joey was right there to assist! Too fantastic!
Great food and great atmosphere. We made it in here this past Thursday and it was an awesome evening. We had a cool waitress and she recommended the Brussels Sprout appetizer and we were blown away. They were pretty good and well cooked. Drinks were also well made, especially my 3 old fashioneds. All in all a cool place. Didnt realize there was 3 levels.
The worst experience. They kicked my friend out because a 20 year old was picking a fight with him. They let underage college kids in and let them walk all over the bouncers and staff… I will never come back.
The bouncer was extremely rude and mouthed off to our friend even though he let him in. Once inside, the vibes were off… we found out why when we tried the low quality food and watered down drinks. Save your money and don’t come here.
One of the worst establishments I’ve ever been to. My brother is a well kept young man, who had on some camo North Face pants which was the reason he was denied entry. The dress code is ridiculous and very much so judge mental.
We were excited to experience a great atmosphere and views from the roof top bar. In short, it was cheesy. In addition, my bourbon had 3 flys at the bottom of it. I drink bourbon often and pay attention if there are fruit flies lurking, but no flies were seen around. So the flys were obviously poured out of the bottle. When I made them aware, I could see the bartender state it happens...then I see him look at the bottle of Buffalo Trace and then he proceeded to pour it out into a large glass through a napkin to filter out the flys!!! Then he made a funnel and poured ot back into the bottle! No words. Definitely will not return to venue. Also, no apologies from the service team...they did remove the drink.
This place rocks!! The atmosphere was immediately welcoming, the staff were all super friendly, and the live music on Saturday night made the entire experience well worth it. The buffalo chicken salad was one of the best I’ve ever had and the blackberry Mojito was wicked good. If you’re looking for a laid back atmosphere to enjoy some good food and drink on King St. this is your place. Thanks Danielle for your service!!
We were visiting the area and we went here for lunch. I got the fried chicken sandwich which was pretty good and my boyfriend got the burger which was also pretty good. We also ordered some of the calamari which unfortunately was undercooked and very rubbery. Overall its a pretty cool place the decorations are really interesting and the food was mostly good. Something to note is that it was really quiet during lunch time, not sure if it was because it was around the holidays or if its just busier in the evening.
This place is off the chain. I was in town for about 36 hours and made three different stops there. The food is great. The peel and eat shrimp are great, along with the lobster dip. The happy hours is amazing, and Saturday champagne bottles only $15. I will make it my business to go back again.
Stopped here on a recent trip to Charleston. Historic looking building with very eclectic interior. We were seated quickly. Decided to try some cocktails that were a little out of the ordinary. Really enjoyed the root beer old fashion. We also ate dinner, lamb burger and a goat cheese burger. Both cooked well and tasted excellent. We will be back the next time we are in Charleston.
This place is the best, request Brianna for VIP she was sick!!
This is a great spot for a bachelorette! Nicole is great!!
Food was great, the food we got! Visited on a Friday night and they were understaffed. Ordered apps and one was never brought out. That one was canceled. Really wanted to try the tips! Had Mac and cheese as a side and that was way over cooked, complete mush. Loaded fries were a win. Burgers were great. Can not accurately say on service since our waiter was running like a crazy person all over all night! Bathroom was on the verge of becoming gross.
The vibe is everything!! When you walk in you feel like youre in Miami and you have ivy everywhere with fun lights and colors in all decor, absolutely gorgeous. There is a roof top deck, middle dancing floor, outdoor patio and first floor with tables plus amazing bar tenders. There is a photographer but the #1 is Brittany Reed; she is the life of the party and makes everyone feel so welcome, she works her magic on all the details, events and is such an integral part of INK. She understands what people want when they walk in and makes it the BEST experience in Charleston. I have only been here 3 months and she has introduced me to so many people and genuinely cares about the people shes servicing. Thank you Brittany for everything!!
Awesome time! Great music! DJ was exceptional at mixing! Friendly staff and service was prompt. We liked the fact that they have a dress code. Great ambiance! Highly impressed and we definitely recommend a visit! Will be returning for sure!
I love ink most of the time. I love that the bar is 23+ because as a 31 year old female I dont really enjoy being surrounded by super young college kids who just turned 21. The bartenders are amazing! Rob is a flair bartender and knows how to put on a good show, Greg is an amazing mixologist he always makes amazing drinks, and James and Nick are sweet and attentive. Ive honestly only had one issue and thats with the dress code and having my husband be turned away 🥴. Honestly since that happened my husband has had anxiety about coming out with me and not knowing he can even get due to dress code. I dont mind that there is a dress code however it was very difficult to find and I had to ask the a bartender, hostess, and security what it actually was. I saw they just posted a Instagram story about the dress code but it should be on their website as well or posted at the door.
The atmosphere and music is great! Brittany and the rest of the staff are amazing. Top notch service across the board from everyone. The cocktails are delicious and a must for a night out in Charleston. I highly recommend!
This place is amazing. Brittany LaShae Reed is your one stop shop for all fun in Charleston, SC. She is attentive, detailed, organized, and extremely helpful when understanding my table, service party options at INK! If you’re out of town, or a local Charleston resident, looking for a fun, safe, clean, experience at a Club, go call Brittany. She knows everyone in town, she’s trustworthy, hooks people up with great times, and all and all is about her clients and customers rather than just shoving bottles at your table to run up your tab! I can’t speak more highly of Brittany as she’s helped me multiple times in my first 6 months here! They have 3 levels, outside, and the inside is decorated better than most every club in Charleston.
Easy Review!!! Great spot if you want to have fun! If you don’t enjoy fun, stay home because you’ll ruin everyone’s time. Always a great experience , Contact the manager Brittney, she has customized every need I’ve ever wanted from a private group, to bottle service and even food! She’s hall of fame in my book! Best club , lounge and rooftop in Charleston BY A MILE!
My husband and I tried Ink and Ivy last night for the first time. We loved it. The restaurant is beautiful in a funky, non-traditional, way (hard to describe). I was admiring the changing pics when my husband told me they were pics of tattoos, thus the ink. Oooh. Anyway, the good was great. We had the fried potatoes, shrimp and grits, Mac and greens, and shrimp. All were delicious. Our server was very attentive. There was a live band who actually sounded very good, so that made for a lively dinner atmosphere. What surprised us is that there was no crowd like the two restaurants almost directly across the street. We have been to both on previous trips to Charleston and like Ink and Ivy much more.
Women BEWARE…. My girlfriend was celebrating with a wedding party last weekend and experienced an extremely traumatizing event caused by Ink staff. She walked downstairs to make sure her friend got into her cab safely and upon coming back inside, the “security” was EXTREMELY aggressive and would not let her come back upstairs to retrieve her phone and belongings. This back and forth led to the the roughly 6’1 white security guard with sandy hair and beard shoving and pinning her against the wall, demanding she leave with threats to call the police as she attempted to defend herself by clawing into his arm with her nails. This traumatizing event and excuse for order by physical forced used on a 120 pound young women was completely inappropriate. Also me being local to the area, this is not the first time I’ve witnessed or heard of unnecessary and irresponsible physical force used toward people attempting to enjoy their night on King street. There are plenty of others clubs downtown that don’t have these problems where staff will actually support allowing you and your friends to have a good time. I hope women and men beware of ink for their own safety and risk for having a night ruined by this establishment.
My husband and I went to this bar with some friends and had a great time until my husband was shoved out of the bar by the bouncer as we were leaving, and now we are sitting in the emergency room with a possible broken elbow. I am completely appalled by the situation because my husband did nothing to be treated this way. As he got shoved, he was pushed into another female and myself and he was completely knocked to the pavement. To be honest they deserve zero stars after this situation. We spent a couple hundred dollars at this place to be treated that way? Absolutely unacceptable.
Great place for brunch in the morning! We came here 2 days in a row. They have 2 amazing slushee flavors to choose from first thing in the morning. Perfect way to start drinking again. Staff was friendly and accommodating as we had a huge group. 10+ people. On Sunday they had $15 mimosas where you get your own bottle and can mix it with any juice they had at the bar. People loved to order and MacNCheese burger they had. Looked really good!
This place is GREAT the bar staff was so nice and answered all of our annoying touristy questions. we did a bachelorette party in the upstairs part with a pole dancing-style class which was super cool. then at night like at 10pm the upstairs turns into a little club. it was our starting-point for the night and we had a great experience. OH! They had Rose on tap, that was cool and yummy
Awesome happy hour. The atmosphere is relaxed with uptempo music played at comfortable volumes. Conversation is easy and the employees friendly. Nice menu. Large, high def screens at the bar to watch the game. Two floors of tables to enjoy dinner. I would be a regular if I lived here!
Great environment and decoration, but dont get why you cannot buy single bottles. Minimum is 2 bottles ($350 each approx.). We went on a group of 4 and 2 bottles would be good if we could stay until 6am, not 2am.
Bouncer and hostess were incredibly rude and snarky because one member of our group was wearing shoes they didnt like. Hostess said every bar in Charleston has a dress code which is not true having lived here for years and bouncer followed up with a rude comment about us being clueless tourists which shouldnt matter if it were the case but also is not. Wont be going back
Our waitress Etta was amazing, made our whole experience. Service is more important to me than the food so in this regard 100%. The buffalo sauce for the wings is amazing but the wings themselves are sub par. I personally prefer crispy wings, and the ones I recieved were rubbery and not crisp at all. But if you like soft wings, they would be great for you.
Very interesting old-style space updated with modern decor. Good selection of beers and variety of food options including some seafood dishes. Food prices were reasonable compared to most other comparable eateries nearby on King Street. Fantastic happy hour from 4 to 7 for half off ANY drinks. I went at 5 on a Thursday, and it was not very busy with great service. A decent 2-man band started up at about 6. I had some good eats and good drinks for a good price and will be back next time Im in town.
Phenomenal vibe and the staff was very attentive. The food came out quickly, absolutely correct even after we made a few special requests, and it was delicious! Will definitely make a point to go back next time Im in town.
Best food in town! They have great burgers and entrees! The atmosphere and the art are FANTASTIC! Love the structure of the place and cant wait to check out then its a night club. Also, if your looking for a drink they have some great mixologist!
I loved the ambience of the place and the artwork. It was however a bit too loud. We were lucky we got a booth all the way in the back cause there was live music playing. Some of the drinks were delicious such as Little Willy which came in a whale glass and was mixed with two types of rum. The wings were AMAZING! best wings Ive ever had. I wish I had gotten more lol my meal was okay. Not amazing but did the job. I got a buffalo chicken sandwich with mac and cheese and my fiance got Korean bbq steak tacos. Overall I enjoyed my time there and would go back.
Brianna took the best care of us, ink is the spot to be.
I went here with my wife for our date night. After a rough start we ended up here. Im extremely glad we did. The live band was great, when they left the music choice was just as good. We got their brussel sprouts that are air fried, special sauce and fetta cheese, and it was outstanding. As a life long brussel sprouts hater, I can safely say that I ate a majority of the plate. Then the entrees, I got their Korean BBQ tacos that are both savory and sweet and my wife got their shrimp tacos which had plenty of kick for her. All of the tacos were phenomenal. And then come the drinks! I got the root beer old fashioned while my wife got Bates peach bucket. My drink was made with precision and my wifes tasted extremely smooth. Lastly was the staff, very nice, quick to refill, and had lots of knowledge on the menu, helping us make the right decisions. Will definitely be going back again and sing high praises to anyone who is willing to listen.
Food was interesting. Upscale in presentation but pretty normal in taste. We had the moto moto rolls which were tasty but not easy to handle as finger food. The hibachi was ok. Drinks were so/so i had a whiskey sour, my wife had Margaritas. We went with friends so we were in a good mood either way.
My wife and I decided to try Ink N Ivy during Restaurant Week, and we were actually a little impressed with how good it was. Fried potatoes, asparagus salad, eggplant lasagna, and bourbon whiskey chocolate cake. Does that sound bad to you? It wasnt bad, It was fantastic. Plus a quite unique atmosphere to enjoy.
Had some friends visit from out of town and decided to take them here because I heard good things and we were on king street. Most stuff on king is good. This is on a Saturday night mind you at 9:30pm. Ordered the Brussels sprouts which I thought would be a good app. I was wrong. They had incredible potential but they came out dry and flaky. It looked like they had been in the oven too long and they came out burnt. I like a little crisp don’t get me wrong but they tasted and felt burnt. My friend ordered the lobster dip, thought it was ok. Generic in my opinion. I got the burger, burger was good but the bun was burnt. I was dying laughing. How hard is it to toast a bun. I should know I have worked in FNB all my life. I’m not one to complain at the point of contact. I make mental notes and just don’t go back. I probably won’t eat here ever again. Interior is cool that’s about it. I hope no one has the experience I did. Maybe they didn’t have an expediter running and surveying the food before it came out. Hard to get a server to come refill water drinks. Seemed like they were too busy talking with each other to care about customers. Need to get some evening management in there to control the food and the staff.
I went here for a birthday dinner for my friend a few days ago. The restaurant was nice and staff was very friendly. I was pleased leaving but became very angry 2 hours after l left because I began to get alerts from my bank telling me my card was being used at the restaurant. I checked my wallet to make sure I had my card and I did. The server had stolen my card information and began using it in the restaurant
Really neat spot with great food and a fun atmosphere. The drinks were really good too. Our server was new, but attentive and did fine even though he wasnt super experienced. Id recommend it.
Loud and fun! Beautifully designed interior space makes this one a must see. A good all around barstaff and good looking champagne girls. Fun for parties! They have food(idk why you would eat here its too fun?) Great djs and excellent sets.
The food was great! HOWEVER, this place is also a bar and my experience this afternoon left me very frustrated. I was in the other evening and noticed that they had a bottle of Old rip van winkle (which for bourbon lovers falls under the Pappy Van Winkle family tree). In other words very hard to come by.I passed on a shot that night to bring my family back for a surprise drink a few days later. When we got there, however, they wouldnt sell us a shot! Apparently the bottle wasnt in the system and they couldnt figure out how to price it without the head bartender on duty. Needless to say I was upset making the trek only to find out we couldnt actually buy it before flying out of town. The waitress wasnt exactly helpful with making this request happen either.I hate ever saying anything negative, but I thought this would be such a fun surprise and it got ruined. Hopefully someone will have better luck with it than we did :(.
The staff was fairly nice and the atmosphere was cool, but the drinks were garbage. Particularly the “smoke show”, their take on a mezcal drink. It tasted more like a water with half an alka seltzer in it. Also the bathroom had no soap in it, not even a dispenser.
Only reason it gets more than 2 star is because of the live music. Other than that its absolute trash service. Waitress was terrible. Food was decent. I do like the $10 burger and beer deal. Waitress left a bad taste in my mouth. Ruined the experience
Loved ink n ivy. Great atmosphere. The Brussels sprouts were amazing and I would go back just for those! Everyone in my party enjoyed their food. The calamari was pretty average but that was about it. Our evening was truly made by our amazing server, Paris. What a doll! So sweet and attentive!
The grits were amazing. A little cold, but I was the first one in the door for brunch, so they probably went quite ready. Still very good. Service was excellent.
We had family from out of town visiting who wanted to experience the Charleston food. Needless to say we were all very disappointed. The server did not seem to be happy to be there at all which is understandable I guess. The appetizer was decent for Charleston standards however it was all downhill from there. It was nearly an hour between the time we received the appetizers until the salads. We actually had to ask twice. Once the salad finally did come out the main course came right behind it. Personally I had the filet mignon and I can say Ive had better Walmart steak at a cookout. Finally when it came to the desert there were two options one of which they were completely out of the other was a blueberry cobbler. The problem was there was absolutely no shortbread because they were out of that as well. So basically you got a bowl of blueberries. The poor table beside us had an even worse experience. They waited nearly an hour and a half before they got their main course. Not to mention while they were waiting a DJ who the restaurant uses later on in the night began setting up his table and basically asking them to scoot over so that he can fit his stuff in. Finally just before we were getting ready to leave the manager came by and ask how it was. We explained the situation and he basically blew it off and just said yeah I know. Its a shame because not only did I and my family have a bad experience, this type of service speaks volumes to the restaurant industry in the Charleston area for tourists.
I am staying at the Hyatt nearby and ordered to go. Food was awesome. We had Steak Bites, Brussels Spouts, Shrimp Tacos , loaded fries and Lobster dip. All was great and it was quick and easy to pick up.
We just wanted an appetizer for a light meal. The bartender was very attentive and friendly although she was so busy. We shared the buffalo quesadilla ($11) which was very good - may be a bit spicy for some. It had lots of chicken.
I went to Ink n Ivy a few weeks back with a friend of mine. We sat at the bar and had Logan as our bartender. Logan made me one of the best Jack sours Ive had in a while and this absolutely amazing green tea shot. I ordered the fried calamari, my friend had shrimp tacos, and we split the mac and cheese with collard greens. The food was spectacular. I highly recommend going there when Logan is bartending. She was fantastic.
First place we ate at in Charleston and it was delicious! Service was great, decor was really cool...we sat on the 2nd story inside balcony. We shared 3 apps: calamari, brussels sprouts with pork belly, and crispy potatoes, all of which were great. Finished off with a shared piece of pecan pie and a couple drinks and our total was only $60! Highly recommend.
The only thing I cant understand is why is the place called ink, has tons of tattoo inspired designs inside, but you cant wear a shirt with an image on it? 🤔. Rap music, drinks, food. People dancing on tables, but I cant wear a t-shirt with an image. But you CAN wear hoodies. Lol. Ugh.. But overall fair bar to chill at. Just dont wear any art inspired clothing in ink
Cool concept! It adds a nice touch of character to King street. The drink selection is unique. The food is fitting. The manager was kind enough to give us a tour. I enjoyed our experience. We will be back
We got in town late and were scrambling for something to eat. The place was directly across the street from the hotel we were staying in and pretty much the only option for a late dinner. We ordered take out and our expectations were low.First of all, I don’t typically order burgers especially takeout, two reasons, 1 they don’t travel well and 2 they are a mess to eat in a hotel room.Let me tell you, the Ink Cheeseburger nailed it though. It is a double cheeseburger and packed in the perfect travel package. I added bacon and it hit the spot, the fries were crispy and not soggy. The only reason I can’t give this is a 5 star was because there were no napkins or condiments in my takeout bag.
The food was AMAZING. My friend told me that I needed to try the appetizers...so I did and they were all EXCELLENT! I had the tuna wontons, brussel sprouts and sweet and spicy shrimp. Everything was cooked to perfection and we received our food with very little wait. I thought my experience couldnt get any better but it did! Our waitress Rebecca made my experience beyond exceptional. She had great recommendations and was very knowledgeable! I couldnt thank her enough while we were there for being so sweet and helpful! I recommend stopping by Ink N Ivy and trying them out, make sure you ask for Rebecca!
Every drink we ordered was really watered down. Ordered margaritas that tasted like water so I ordered two more shots for my guest and I to stiffin up the drinks (Patron mind you). Brought two shots and we tasted it before mixing; at least 50% water. Was very disappointed. Nice place, bad drinks. Hope it improves
Cute place, loved the decor but the bartender was terrible. We sat at the bar for about 10-15 mins before he even came to us to take our order. The bar was empty it was lunch time on a Sat. He only took 1 order at a time, there were 4 of us sitting together. Than it took about 3-5 mins in between each of us to get the 1 drink order he took. He was not paying attention at all
Decor is absolutely beautiful but was disappointed with the selection of food. Options were creative, taking an inky attempt at Charleston classics, but lacked vegan and vegetarian options. My friend got the shrimp and grits, which he said was fantastic. I had the Cesar salad which was drenched with dressing and hidden beneath a thick layer of parmesan cheese, combination of those made it extremely salty.
Only complaint my group saw a couple of cockroaches in the corner almost near bar top scared my friend to death! but v cute place all in all !
The food was amazing, and the DJ was playing just the right music and at the right volume. The wait staff was very attentive and knew the menu, which is always good when trying out a new resturant. Lastly, to be only open a short time, it didnt have that vibe!
I went in the other night as I am new to Charleston and wanted to experience what’s to offer. Around 10:30 pm -11:00 pm, somewhere in between, I go in and provide my valid ID and told it’s only 23 and over for that night. I didn’t believe it so I called and got forwarded to a texting system where I directly texted someone working that night. They told me all hours and everyday is 21+. So the bouncer denied me entry with a lie for no reason. Why run a business if you don’t want to fill it with customers? Why hire people who are going to give people a bad experience and then give your business a bad review? I’m tempted to go again and see what I’m told then. Maybe I’ll adjust my review.
I have talked about eating here since they opened. Tonight was the night! After eating at many many restaurants in Charleston SC I can honestly say this is by far my favorite. The menu is not big but the food is! This is the Best Southern Shrimp and Grits in SC! Im on Keto diet and the Califlower Mac with Pork Belly is Devine. The cheese is creamy but not too creamy with just the right amount of seasoning! Maureen was so sweet and knowledgeable! She helped us choose the best drinks and told us all about the food. The atmosphere is edgy and eclectic! I will be back again..Next time I am trying the Goat Cheese Burger!
My friend was grabbed by an employee without warning after she had been asked into a VIP section. Before having a very simple conversation, she decided to lay hands on her and subsequently requested all of our removal from the bar. Just hours before, we had spend 100s of dollars, and was left in very bad taste by such unprofessional and rude staff. Multiple patrons and the bouncers witnessed our unjustified removal.
The service was nice. Our server helped us pick out meals and was very pleasant. He aalo shared with us about his band, but wasnt pushy. I had the steak sandwich. Holy balls, that was the best sandwich Ive ever eaten. The locally raised beef was so tender it melted in my mouth. The garlic aoli didnt overpower the steak at all. Each component of the sandwich was distinct and delicious. It was searved with coarse cheese grits. Please go there and eat this sandwich. It is only $16 for a sandwich to remember.
Great experience. Loved the art work. One of the best double decker hamburgers! the frozen drinks were good as well! The band was a nice surprise.
If I could give 0 stars, I would. My girlfriends and I were visiting Charleston this past weekend and went to Ink N Ivy for drinks on Friday night. The upstairs club wasnt open yet because it was 9:45 and it opened at 10:00 so we decided to grab a drink at the downstairs bar until after 10. The drinks were terrible- way too sweet. Around 10:15, we went to the bouncer at the stairs to go up to the club- he told us that we couldnt enter this way and had to go outside, make a left and go up those stairs- so we did. Not even 2 minutes later, a group of white girls were allowed to enter through the main staircase from inside the restaurant. If were already inside your establishment with our drinks, why was it necessary to make us go outside and enter through the other entrance? Dont pick and choose who you let enter from the different entrances. Additionally, I ordered a CHILLED tequila shot at the upstairs bar and got warm tequila both times. Teach your bartenders how to make drinks. Bouncers are clearly racist.
Nice establishment but the waitress was not attentive and the dj was not up to par. I couldn’t even request any of the known birthday songs because it wasn’t a cocktail song. With very little people you would think you could at least request one song
My friend and I were I Charleston for my birthday trip. We wanted to go Out and this place looked great. The vibe was there, music, drinks, bartenders, and at first the people were quite nice. Towards the end of the night I started getting hit on by a drunk man who wouldn’t leave me alone. My friend and I tried to push him away and he ended up putting his hands on my friend. We were standing by the bouncer, and a bottle girl, and he did nothing, just told the man to “get off” and that was it. The bouncer stood behind us the whole time, watched the entire thing unfold and did nothing. In the end not very happy with the bouncers and bottle girls here as they allowed women to be harassed and did nothing.
1st time there meal was great and so was service. 2and time omg total 18 . Service was poor. Ordered same dish as before but came out as totally diff entree. 1/4 the size, incorrect ingredients and then was told entrees are made on advance. Waiter dissapeared to get manager and then avoided is. Manager didi right think and did not charge for entrees and did ask if wanted another choice. We did not want another pre-made choice.
So much fun!! Bartenders are fantastic, music is great, and we had an uncomfortable experience with a guy and the bouncers took care of it. Thank you Mark!! We appreciate you!!
Awesome food!! Awesome Prices!!Our Service was 10++++Rebecca or rachel. I cant remember her name , she was Fabulous 😎 we were the table with the Crazzy old guy. LolDefinitely will be back, and will definitely ask for her. Thanks for the Fabulous service, thats so hard to find today...
The best managed Nightclub in town as well as the Top of the line Bartenders.. if your looking for a great hospitality, fast/organized service and the most prestige Cocktails in the Lowcountry this is your place…Worth every penny!
This place serves minors. Had a guy hitting on me that was 20 years old. He clearly had an in with the staff.
Had the filet...so tender it was like cutting through butter. Well seasoned and delicious! Great atmosphere, friendly waitress and good music. Would come back on my next visit!

Bartenders are cool, DJ was getting it, skinny white dide at door was chill. Went to upstairs DJ club. Security was creepy and one had his underage daughter and friend there. They acted really weird and place stayed pretty much empty. If it wasnt for the hot chill brunette bartender and her blonde coworker probably wouldnt have drank or danced here. Military definitely steer clear of upstairs club.
Food was decent. The menu is very small and if you are looking for lots of choices, this is NOT the place for you! My one of my friends and I got the wings (Korean bbq and Nashville hot) and the lobster dip and shared them. The Korean bbq flavor was amazing, but the Nashville hot was lacking in heat and seasoning. The lobster dip was to die for! We also had drinks. At first we tried the Ketle One spritzer drinks and if you are on a diet, then these drinks are definitely for you! As for my friend and I we didnt enjoy them, so I got the Its so lit (Long Island Iced tea) which delicious and she got the blackerry jito which she also enjoyed. Once our other friend arrived she got the lobster dip also and the brussel sprouts. Those sprouts were dry and over fried. But the atmosphere was nice and the music was great.
Pub-style food was very good. Service was friendly. Enjoyable all-around experience. With the exception that their specialty drinks were terrible. At least the two we had were.
I was there for a night party and in one moment feel that I need some fresh air - I stay on the street for a while and then when I try to come in they don’t let me go. Without any explanation why. I even could not close my bill. So if you plan to visit this place be ready that they can drop you out and don’t let come in anymore. It’s not acceptable for a place on King street.
The Shrimp and Grits was absolutely amazing, the tasso gravy was perfect, the char on the shrimp was on point. Maureen was wonderful! Very relaxing atmosphere. We will be returning again.
The top Night Club in Charleston SC! Closest you’ll get to the big city life club! Great staff, amazing drinks! Never a bad time!
The place is cool, good entertainment, delicious food but for 2 days in a row after they sat us down they left us unattended for at least 20 mins. The second night seemed like a bigger deal so we ended up walking out which wasnt ideal because we loved their food so much to come back. Anyways Hopefully it doesnt happen to others!
Was told by a bouncer to put my jacket back on because I was wearing a tank top. Most of the women at this bar were wearing tank tops/tube tops, cut offs, or backless tops so I guess this rule only applies to men.
Great food and wait staff. Our group of 8 ordered a variety of dishes and all of it was delicious. The kitchen is still working on the menu and there were a few hiccups but the staff made everything right.
So the food wasn’t the best, the drinks were okay, and the live music was too loud, which I can get over... but the service was truly terrible. We asked for the check as soon as our food was brought out, and it still took forever. We had our card on the table for a long time while our server was talking to a coworker by the POS in eyeshot of our table. And side note, I asked for a club soda, which was forgotten initially. And when it came out, it a had a wedge of lime on it that was brown and slimy. Yes, brown... like two weeks after it had been cut brown.
First time visiting the very beautifully decorated resturant. As soon as my friend and I walked up to the restaurant we were greeted outside and inside. We were seated and served our beverages in no more than 10minutes. Quite fast for a DT restaurant. We ordered some drinks and food. I got the cheese burger w/ a fried egg and my friend good the Ink Signature Salad i think its called. My burger and fries were delicious af!! It so juicy and just plain delicious. My friend said her salad was also really good and that the house dressing made it taste evan better. Our waiter was very nice and attentive the whole way through. I really do love good service. So way to go Ink&Ivy. We will definitely be back and Ill be recommending your restaurant to my friends, family, and coworkers.
Great brunch. All the items were $10 and also you could get a bottle of champagne for $15 and use their juice bar to make your own different types of mimosas.
Simply the best chicken and waffles I’ve ever had. Nashville Hot Fried Chicken on a pablano-cheddar waffle with fresh jalapeño.My best meal in our 4-day trip to Charleston. Please go try it.
Definitely satisfied with the environment and the music the drinks were blended well and the staff did a hell of a job I came here on a Thursday night and I feel this way so I am kind of excited to see what happens on the weekend
I stumbled into this bar on Saturday night and first of all, the atmosphere was such a good vibe & the staff was super nice minus the bathroom guy upstairs but we were probably really annoying so I cant fault him for that hahaha BUT I unknowingly left my wallet there..full of my credit cards and IDs, etc.. I woke up to a Facebook message from a bartender there that he saw it and snagged it for me and had it safe! I told him that I probably couldnt come that Sunday because I lived on the other side of town, this man offered to meet me halfway or near my house to return it. You just dont find people like that anymore. I am SO grateful for Rob!!!! In the future I wont remember how the drinks or food were, or anything else about it really but I WILL remember this kindness of this guy and will return there & hype it up for the hospitality alone. THANKS ROB!!!!! GOOD KARAMA IS COMING YOUR WAY MY FRIEND!!!!
Fish, Eddie, and Zack, thank you for a fantastic night!! If I go anywhere in Charleston it will be here. The service and food were top notch and our group truly appreciated it.
Went for lunch at the place and got the Ink Burger and was plesently surprised at the quality of it. One of the best Ive had. Shame its only on the lunch menu. Also the atmosphere is pretty cool with tattoo art all over the place which is cool.
Arrived at 1241pm. With clients from out of town fora nightcap.Do not bring anyone important here. 23 patrons inside. The bouncer indicated they were closed. We are going down the street to spend the cash we took from the atm.Worst door guy/front of the house in recent memory. Id guess this is my final visit to this establishment
I can’t even review the food or atmosphere because it took me and my party of eleven THREE weeks of phone calls and emails (which went unanswered) to finally get a manager on the phone and be told I was emailing an address for all their places ( he never even asked me which email I used) but once I told him it was for the king st location, he hung up on me!!!! Who wants to eat somewhere where they apparently don’t even want to get you in their doors?!?!?!
This place is awesome for brunch, we had the chicken and waffles. Out of this world good!!! Great service , enjoyed the place . Would recommend to everyone. Big tvs to watch while eating. Great place!!
Service was 5 stars food was 5 stars downside, paying customers cant wear a hat but employees can which doesnt make since when I was leaving I out my hat on as I was walking out the bouncer told me I had to take it off, told him I was leaving but asked why paying customers cant but employees getting paid can he replied idk policy ..ok.. I asked again but what is the point he got rude and asked if I had a problem little human first off size doesnt matter but was he a alien? Why little human? If there was a problem where your bouncer gets easily offended they shouldnt be a bouncer and if he sees this you see my name
Had an amazing night at Ink with our crew. Service and vibes were top notch. Make sure you ask for Joey when you go there…she’s the real deal
This was one of our go to bars Charleston. The food was good, but I drinks were creative and delicious and the atmosphere was really cool with an awesome Playlist and pop art all over the walls.
Great place, bartender has awesome customer service and the food was very good. Would love to get their tomato soup recipe. It was the best tomato soup I ever had
This place is a presumptuous atrocity hiding on the every widening cesspool of cookie cutter southern fusion food sources in this town. The rice was cold and undercooked, the rib eye was a piece of sirloin that was burned beyond recognition, the scalloped potatoes were from a just add water/daddy issues box. Please, for the love of John C Calhoun, step up your food game for 16$ a plate.
Delicious food! The Brussels are too good. The servers were super helpful and kind. Helpful with gf options. Super cute and fun.
Our waiter was great and he mentioned they were short staffed today but I didnt notice. Food was amazing. Mac and cheese burger need I say more.
A very nice new experience. Food was really good and Olivia was a GREAT waitress. Live music was pleasant as well
Incredible service for a bachelorette!
Everything was good food the service was good . My boyfriend had his hat on when he was the leaving and the bouncer told him to take it off and called him a little human.
One of the best places to hang.
Overcharging! Plenty of better options on the street.Just paid $16 for a shot of bourbon that costs $24 a bottle max. Michael was manager on duty, disputed my bill.. read Wellers bourbon as Michters as the line item and he would not correct item or charge. If the Bar owner is reading, Michael should be reviewed Re: costing strategy and performance at least. Our server Jimmie was great, but was toothless in the 2nd hand conversation between mgr and customer.Ill set my calendar to repost each week until I forget.. which could be a while as I have not been messed around with this badly for a while.See you soon Michael 🙂
The atmosphere wasnt really my taste, but the rest of my group had a good time. The bartenders were friendly and quick.
Excellent service from our waiter. Food and drinks were great. Messed up one drink but fixed/replaced with no problem.
We (a group of 4) had a horrible experience at Ink & Ivy with an extremely rude hostess. I have never experienced such a negative attitude. We did not stay and will definitely not be returning.
The decor and vibe is really awesome, definitely a fun/unique place to check out. Their Margritas were good and the food was delish! Definitely worth checking out.
Good drinks and nice staff, appetizers were awesome, get the fried cheese balls! Love this place and will be back next time in town.
Rude staff. No one even greeted us. We sat there for about 10 minutes and no one came to take our order. 2 hostesses so busy looking at their phones they were completely oblivious to the customers.
Bartender was not only rude af but after 4 bars by far the worst old fashion i got all night had to be 3 ounces of simple syrup it was crazy sweet ..... would def not ever go back less than 40 people on st.paddys day weekend
Ambience was spot on! Lighting was low, energy was at just the right frequency...cold drinks, delicious food and beautifully designed..a MUST if you a searching a good time with great people!
Awesome experience!! Went bar hoping in Charleston and I stopped here 2x . Very friendly environment and fun vibe !
