Unless you are already part of a click that attends this bar, it is just like any other gay bar in Dallas. You try to mingle and meet people, yet they dont care unless you are known by someone within the click. At least the bartenders are nice though. If you can get in early and get seat with the bartenders then youd at least have someone to talk to every now and then.

What a brilliant place. Very friendly folk. Clean, well thought out pub with pool tables a great professional friendly place to unwind and meet your mates.Good drinks, casual attire, and some right good times. Go here once and youll want to return. Its one of the best gaybars in town.

The hidden door was my go to when I wanted to step out due to cedar springs not being my crowd. But I think I’ve got to revert to going back to straight bars. After being threatened by security last for talking in the parking lot with him drawing his taser and then his firearm on me and friends. I refuse to spend my hard earned at a place where I could end up on the next t-shirt! Definitely felt racially profiled! Never thought I’d feel that from the Door. All you have to do is show me I’m not welcomed once…

Only true Gay bar left in Dallas. Its a dive but so fun! Hasnt been coopted by the non-Gay and non-Lesbian they/them crowd. True to its original crowd.

I couldn’t find it!! The red secret door wasn’t there but I was only 11?? I was able to go through the back in though and was served papers? I don’t know?? You tell me is it a gay bar or not. Are you in the hood? Am I black or white. ??Ps my sugar daddy is CarmelWas i bleeding or did I gravitate towards the red ceiling not the what floor. I like carpet but I cut it under the stairs for accurate measurement so there

More bartenders would be beneficial as the lines for drinks tend to be quite long. However, the quality of the drinks is satisfying and the bartenders are extremely friendly. Despite ample space, it can still get crowded at times. The patio effectively utilizes mist fans to keep patrons cool on hot days. While finding parking may be a slight challenge, it is not a significant issue.

Unbelievable that a longtime patron was grabbed by the arm and shoved out the front door by the so called security guard while simply trying to get some fresh air while waiting on two of us to join him!

By far my favorite bar in Dallas. I’ve never been much of a bar/scene person as I usually tend to frequent bar/grills as they’re more relaxed, better vibe and less drunks/drama, plus they have food. However Hidden Door has come to be my favorite thanks to the cheap drinks (cash only), great staff, nice outdoor area, and let’s not forget the best part - the crowd! HD hosts many themed events but is fun even without the events or at events that aren’t your interest. Even without offering food I like this place a lot. And usually has plenty of parking options

Only rating good for the service. The patrons can be very disrespectful most of the time. But the service and prices are amazing!

What can i say. theres nothing good to say about this bar. smells like bad bo inside, rude disrespectul bar patrons.lots of arrogant drunks who insult and try to grope you. i mean i had total strangers trash talking me for no reason. i got tired of having to yell at people or having to restrain myself from punching some jerk.course the bigger problem is the bar serving people who are obviously intoxicated . wont be going back to this dump ever again.

BLACK, BROWN, AND LATINO MEN BEWARE!!!!!A friend and I came to the Hidden Door establishment on Sunday 10/15/2023. We decided to check this bar out after a friend had told us about it. Upon our arrival we were greeted by a skinny white man who looked to be high off something and he was sitting in a chair, and black heavy set female security guard with uneven dreads and dark glasses, and piercings on her face. The female security guard opened the door for us as we walked in. My friend went to the ATM machine to get money and I went to the bathroom. Once I was done using the bathroom, both my friend and I went to the bar to get a drink. We stood in line, got our drinks, and carried on to this large patio area. We had found a small area and decided to stand there. Within 5 minutes of standing there the black female security guard who opened the door then approaches us and says that the Skinny white man at the door sent her to us to see if we were smoking weed, she then says that the white people who own and run this establishment do not like guys like us who smoke or bring weed in, she then says I know you don’t have any weed or anything like that, but he thinks y’all do because of the way you smelled when you walked into the bar. She then says if you light anything up in here, you got to go.The security guard saw our faces, because my friend being a Black man 6’1 and an executive director of a nursing facility, and me being Puerto Rican who works for a major Real Estate Firm were shocked that we were being faced with such disrespect. We honestly thought the security was joking, or maybe herself intoxicated due to her slurred words and random accusation. Now the white man was the one who felt this way, but he sent the female guard thinking because she was black we would not take offense, nor would they be in trouble with any kind of race altercation. You could tell she wanted a reaction from us, but we are both professional and classy men we let her carry on and embarrass herself as she spoke, and then walked away. My friend and I did not say a peep which I am proud of my brother for that, and what’s good its all on film.After she walked away these were my thoughts:A) We were being accused of something that no one witnessed, and why did they not stop us at the door, why wait for us to get drinks and head outside where we stood in the midst of lots of people who I am sure would not appreciate weed smoke in their face, nor in front of two DJs and other employees. We would have been kicked out before we even got to our corner if we were smoking weed.B) Were also being confronted and threatened to be removed for behavior we did not display nor act outC) The security guard and door man created a narrative based off a scent, no real concreate proof. Mind you this is a bar where you smell tobacco, poppers, alcohol, weed, and other weird smells. Also, people were coming in and out like the train station, and so why wait all that time till we get a drink and settle down to then confront us. Why not stop us at the door, if that was your impression or thought.D) Also, make sense why she is security guard and not a real cop. As a security guard you’re supposed to observe then act. This lady acted, with no observation. Get you a real security team, I know times is hard and money is tight but low budget security companies could cost you a lawsuit or a hate crime suit.E) Also, with her being a black woman she should know better than to approach two men on something that is pure speculation. Even if a white man tells you to do something you should still understand the code of ethics and morals, which I think this bar lacks training on ethics and morals.F) Lastly, we were judged based off our street clothing and race that we were smoking weed or were involved with some kind of drug.We did get this on film, but do not want to release due to ensuring our LGBTQ places are protected and not taken from us, but the owner needs to do a serious ethics and moral training, and re-think security protocol.

By far my favorite place to go let loose, fun crowd, lots of parking, security to keep the peace, best bartender I’ve ever met Robin knows everyone’s favorite drinks. Sisters of Perpetual Indulgence preformed last visit. Had a fantastic time.

Talk about hole in wall bar! Its hands down one of my favorite gay bars in town because everyone is down to earth and even makes a girl like myself feel welcome and safe. Drinks are moderately priced but soooo good. My favorite being the G spot. The back patio area was nicely extended and accommodates more folks. Bathrooms are a little questionable but since the main clientele here is men, I dont have much room to complain 😅 Its got a fun vibe with great music and the bartenders are PHENOMENAL!!! These guys really make it a blast.

Avg gay dive bar,nice bartenders but too many rude drunks. a lot of guys want to grope you and are very disrespecful. used to be all men, unfortunately women come in when they should go elsewhere.

Got kicked out for saying I was drunk told him when I wasnt that drunk. So was told to have a good day. Was told that the police the cops would be called to take me out. I am in my right mind and not too drunk. I feel disrespected. Will never be at this bar again. I understand that for safety bartenders are supposed to kick out customers are supposed to make sure that they arent too drunk to buy and be possibly kicked out, but I am not that drunk. I am sober enough to know where I am at the time and the date also the place I am at the place Im at, I was not too drunk to understand the psych eval that was not performed by the bartender that has enough training to understand how drunk. I went in to get the bartenders name but went the bartender went out to get the security guard who by the name is Officer Brooks., The bartender failed to care to give his name for unknown reason. For this reason, I feel that this business cares less about their customers and more about who serves their drinks. Regardless of their own safety they can give at least a first name. This speaks on their customer service ethics. I do not appreciate being treated like not a person when I can self-evaluate myself and was not being evacuated by the bartender. Therefore, being treated as an animal that needs to be put outside.

I come here because it is where my friends go and its a good time. They have to do something about the ability to get a drink. When busy yoy wait in line about 30 mins. The bartenders are doing their best, its just volume at peak times. Adding a bar outside for just beer and water would really help.

Last TBRU was my first time there, I loved the place and the environment, amazing patio, the only thing I did not like is that they take cash only, but they had an atm so wasn’t a big deal. Highlight recommended.

Calvin is rude and tasteless. Someone broke into my car and I asked for footage. I didnt bother them and keep calling I gave them time. When I called to check on it I was nice and asked to speak with a manager and he said that it wasnt respectful to ask for a manager when everyone is a manger. How would I know? Calvin also said I was wasting his time by asking for a manager and kept cutting me off when I was talking. I went ahead and filed a police report because he said good luck with my footage 🥹 its sad cos he told me this has been happening all week to the employees and they havent done anything. Goodluck with your business Calvin.

Cheap cheap cheap drinks. Thats the highlight of this place. It has a funny smell, but most whole in the wall bars do. Staff was friendly, wouldnt mind going back for another round. The music that played during my quick visit was current radio hits which was another plus. Thumbs up in my book!!!

I love this bar, it feels like home. However, past few times Ive been since the reopening, its been good but the area they opened in the back with the port a potties is kind of gross.. Ive seen many guys go into the port a potties and soon after another guy follows. How gross can you guys be? Really? Wait until its time to leave or go home and come back. Also how childish is to rock a port a potty back and fourth while someone is in it?

Its a great local watering hole with quite a few regulars because of the drink prices! Ive been going since they opened. The staff is extremely friendly and they dont tolerate any drama or drugs! The bar and pool tables are always well maintained.

Its a good place to meet up and have a drink. The staff is friendly for the most part. The drinks are ok as far as strength but expensive, even for happy hour. The place smells on the inside but has a great outside patio area. Its a good place for one drink.

Great gay bear bar off of the beaten path. $0.75 beers, and typically a strong pour.for other drinks. Great patio with misters when the weather is nice. An anything goes bar that is extremely comfortable and casual.

Hidden door is great. Love going here with friends to get a drink and catch up. The people are welcoming and the atmosphere is so fun and lively. It’s also just an easy place to have fun and let loose. I recommend this place to anyone

I bartended at the hidden door over 20 years ago and remember it fondly. I knew Jim Roberts, the founder and Tony who inherited it 🙏 And in its wilder days , it was fun, Fun, FUN!!!I HAVE MANY HAPPY MEMORIES 😊
