Instead of fun. They charge a cover of $10 per person. You have several bars and environments. The dance floor is the best. The people who attend give me the impression of being very authentic, extroverted, sexy and spontaneous. Here you can get a guy named Patrick who walks in thongs and gives you an incredible massage.Go and have fun!
Had a long day and need some drinks in a great atmosphere? My go to has always been the Round-UP Saloon Dallas. The bar is timeless and echoes a comfortable spot for people of all ages, 21 and over. There are unique nightly events, they have the best drag shows on the Cedar strip and don’t forget about their famous parlor room with great karaoke. One of the reasons I frequent Round-Up are the bartenders, Greg Castillo is a great and excellent bartender! You have to come see him in action and taste his drinks. He always has a smile on his face and makes you feel welcomed. I highly recommend visiting Greg and the Round-Up Saloon Dallas.
Security is an absolute joke here! I came here with a group last night and right before we were about to leave, where they were doing karaoke we were told to not block the entrance at first, so my buddy and I moved in the hallway, then some short guy with a red cap and long beard was practically screaming at us to get out of the hallway just power tripping even though he did not tell us the first time to get out of the hallway. He told us to not block the entrance. Then eventually when I was telling everyone what happened and I was jokingly saying, “make sure you don’t stand in the hallway”, the security guard approached me aggressively “explaining” why they do that but it looked like he was trying to start a fight for nothing and I wasn’t threatening or harming anybody. I was just there having a good time. All of it was totally unnecessary and that security guard needs better training same with the other guy. Tell us the first time instead of being outright disrespectful!
Talk about a party. This place is amazing. Drove from San Antonio to check out the sites and stumbled across this place and right when we walked in the VIBE was beyond what I can imagine. No stop dancing and tons of friendly faces. Let me add that there are bars right by next door and a yummy pizza place next door that is such a perk. You walk into this bar you won’t want to go anywhere else.
It’s not the same country night club that it used to be. Since the bar owners Gary and Alan left its feels as if it lost its country feel. Its ok until midnight and the kids come in an take it over.
We love Mondays with Mike! Best dance teacher in town. Bar staff is always friendly. Fun and welcoming environment
Amazing place with a lot of different spaces. Very inclusive gay bar. Trevor V., the bartender, provided amazing service and was a good time during karaoke. Would definitely come here again!
Love round up!! Rocky the bartender is our favorite!!! We have a great time every time music is great and our favorite bartender keeps it lit, positive vibes always!!!
Bar staff were all fine, quite friendly, and welcoming. One was particularly humorous and handsome. I had a brilliant time and will tell all my friends. Go here if possible!
First of all, the atmosphere is amazing. The Bar staff is amazing and friendly. The reviews you see on line are because people don’t know about safety and or common sense. It’s THE LAW to have an ID whether or not you look of age. If you complained about not getting in because of your bag, watch and or look into LGBT shootings at Bars, get over yourself and have fun. Marcos(Floor Person) Trevor, and Mayo are AMAZING bartenders. The seasonal atmosphere is always and also welcoming. Anyways, Have fun!
The drinks are great. Good balance of alcohol and mixer. After a long day of work, since Im not far, I like to hit up the strip. Ive hesitated going to Round Up due to past experiences after I have not seen the karaoke host that used to be there years ago. Today confirmed my suspicion. I believe her name is Mel, I went up to do a song, and the pitch did not match the original pitch of the song. I asked her what pitch this was in, she said it was the original. In no way that was original. I asked to turn the pitch down, she instead turned it up. Seems like karaoke is only played towards favoritism to local frequent flyers of the bar. If you plan on going here for karaoke, just be ready to possibly get screwed out of a song you enjoy singing. However, the drinks are definitely good at least so if you are going just to enjoy drinks and people watch, good place for that at least to watch the frequent flyer singers. But I will say the frequent flyers are definitely good singers, so definitely not knocking them. They at least provide great entertainment.
No longer a legend. No longer country and western.Took a person from out of state there who’d heard good things in the past.Made a couple of requests (with a $20 bill) of old Round Up standards such as Killin’ Time and Telluride. Was told they were too slow and too old by a condescending and ageist DJ.His choices had few people on the dance floor. Please go back to tradition. I’ve been going to the Round Up for over 40 years.
Devon is the best, he can serve up some mean cocktails with a smile, makes everyone feel special.. hes great at his job, for sure!
Seriously why is this place over ran with straight woman. It would help if the DJs would stop playing music that caters to them. It’s become to the point it is an annoyance and I don’t even want to come anymore.
There was a misunderstanding on my drink order and the bartender was extremely rude, yelled at me, and I ended up crying. :C Not a good way to kick off my birthday :|
Trevor was so attentive and fun!! Definitely will come her in the future if he’s my bartender :)
Drinks are cheap $5 and staff is nice. The karaoke hosted by Marcos is really lame because is basically him (the host) singing every two singers which makes it very long wait and he doesn’t even sings well or good. If you want host a karaoke put the people to sing.
Literally just old white bartenders who act like they don’t want you leaning on thir bar unless your their yuppie regulars love it
Wow what a unique gay bar experience. I wish i would have found this place sooner as i would have spent way more time and money here
Great way to have fun with a Drag show AND a karaoke show at the same time. The bartenders can be a little more cooperative (one refused to make me martini because he was too busy) but why be a Karen about it when there were 3 other bars inside? In addition, on my last visit I had the distinct pleasure and honor to meet Shangela, Rupaul Allstar and New York Magazines second most powerful drag queen in America. #HALLALOO!
Loved this place! Leaving a review because reviews almost scared me away but there was no cover at 9:30p on Saturday and the bar was super fun, I’m not a country fan but had fun in the karaoke fan and came with aGroup- you know not to bring big bags or backpacks so dont do it- upon leaving I hear of a $10 cover when I left around midnight so I think before ten there is none
Couldn’t. Get in because my wonderful coworkers purse was “too big” ugh. Visiting for work and was trying g to have fun. Lots of money but was too anti-woman to let that slide. Boo would have loved to give it a real review but didn’t see the inside
Trevor is so friendly, handsome, and make a very good drinks! Thank u!!
I visited this place on November 11,2023 when I came to Dallas as an visitor and the man at the door was very rude and denied my id stating that it was fake when he scanned it and used a blue light to verify with another staff member before he proceeded to start hollering and screaming exit out of the building and getting in the walkie telling other staff to reject entry. Not to messed up about the situation it just how it was handled. I do not appreciate that type of behavior and don’t recommend going to this location .
Not a fun experience with the bartenders. Dallas isnt really a city that deserves that level of ego.
I asked the bartender for tap water and they served me bottled water. When I said that wasn’t what I asked for they said they could do anything about it and made me pay for the bottled water. The service was poor.
Started coming on Tuesdays and met Trevor our first night and now we make sure to come every Tuesday to see him!
Bring Cash only because this place no matter if you give them a tip or not they will give them a tip and not fix the problem. I been going here for over three years and I thought they might stop doing this however they continue to tip themselves especially at the tequila bar. Don’t use a card at this establishment unless you want to give them between 10-60 dollar tip on two drinks.
Trevor gives good vibes EVERY SINGLE TIMEEE. me and my friends can’t stay away!!
I usually don’t have any issues with Round up staff, but last night was an exception. I tried to buy a drink at the bar on the right side ( next to the back door to karaoke bar) last night. It was a formed line of people to a bartender, but that dude had an interesting approach - he mixed orders people from the line and also from some random people who tried to buy a drink avoiding the line. After waiting a 7 minutes in a line I finally got to the bartender to order but he turned around from me and started to get an order from a guy who just showed up. When I pointed out to the bartender that it’s my turn to order I was told by the bartender in a rude manner that he was the one decide who is the next one and if I don’t like it I can just go to another place🤯🤔 After that I obviously didn’t wanna order anything with that bartender. I understand that everyone have sometimes a bad day and it’s hard be nice to everyone but to provide some basic costumer service is a must thing
Have been coming to this establishment for years. Always loved it. Unfortunately this evening the bartender in the Saloon was completely oblivious to his customers sitting at the bar. Even the person bringing empty glasses to be washed told me I better get up and go to the end of the bar to order, despite tipping 50% on my first tab. Giving that I was the only customer completely ignored, I can only assume it was because I am a female. Again, very disappointing and will spread the word.
The bar and the majority of the staff is amazing. The reason why Im giving it two stars is because of the bartender Rocky. He has a whistle that he blows constantly thats obnoxious and loud and shrill and multiple bartenders and patrons dont like it but management does nothing about it.
Typical Dallas gay bar. Good cheap drinks with good bartenders. Music choices are good and a variety and overall never had a problem!
Trevor took great care of me and my partner, we love him!!
Cute bartenders and dancers. Reasonably-priced drinks and good music. We really loved the outdoor deck area- especially with the cooler weather. My only complaint would be the bar back who spent the entire night obnoxiously blowing a whistle to try and move through the crowd. I could tell the bartenders were annoyed as well. Felt bad for them since they have to listen to it all night long. I understand its a club, its loud, and theres a lot of people, but it was seriously unnecessary.
I love round up so much! I hadn’t been a few years but we came out for Marduk gras and they even had free food in the back. Drinks are reasonable priced, staff is friendly, love the community, and drag shows were so fun. Love the ladies gays and theys here, will be back soon!
I love Roundup. It is my go-to place when Im in Dallas. Sometimes I go just to visit Roundup.
I have been going to roundup for 25 years to state the obvious not young. But still enjoy early nights leave by midnight more the cowboy crowd. I personally no Gary and Allen great guys and now being handed off for Gary’s son which is a nice legacy. I would warn to make sure and bring your id. The front door would not let me in even when I showed him my picture I’d from my iPhone wallet which is not a physical ID. I asked if Allen or Gary was there and he told me he didn’t care who I was I wasn’t getting in without my physical ID. I went and got it and brought it to the door msn and we had a heated exchange as I lost connection with friends by this point was over it snd him and as much said so. What happened next was shocking as he told me to leave and I told him what I thought but when I was outside I had four security guys on me and the manager finally backed them off. I told the manager what happened and also told him they should be careful with staff trying to manhandle outside the establishment on s public sidewalk. Good way to create a lawsuit All it would have taken would have been one of these boys to lay a hand on me snd it would have went there. The manager did a good job of de escalating but hope Gary snd Allen read reviews theses day. Maybe on the beach in mexico common sense woukd have been a better approach from staff
Don’t come to this bar unless all you carry is a wallet! You will be turned away for anything bigger than that…but ONLY if the bartender doesn’t think you’re hot enough. I wasn’t let in with my medically necessary bag, and then watched at least 4 other femmes let in with bags the same size or bigger than mine. Bouncer didn’t even let me measure my bag against whatever mystery sizing they have hidden inside. Just said get out. And be prepared for cops to watch you the whole time you’re outside. Real fun vibes here.
As most have already complained, the cover amount is ridiculous for a non-event night. The cover was more than a few other clubs in the area. The staff were not all that friendly. The positive, if you are looking for a country/western themed club, this place is for you. The dj was on point, playing notable country music.
The front personnel is rude and racist. Upon entry they did not want to accept my friend’s international identification. As an international travel this has never happened to me. Why did it happen here? This is unwelcoming the gentleman with glasses at the front did not hesitate to deny entry. This is concern in our community as we constantly are fighting against discrimination, not only gender equality, but racism. I am ashamed this establishment is not being supportive of our international/LGBT community.
Always a good time here.👍 Its country til midnight then todays hits/Dance music til2am.🥳Service is good, drinks are typical prices. It gets pretty damn busy here on Fri/Sat nights.💯 If youre visiting or new to the area, this is definitely a fun place to check out.😘 All age groups...open, friendly and welcoming to all and with a HUGE 2 deck outdoor patio!👍
This is my favorite bar in Dallas. This is where country chic meets modern everyday regular shorts t-shirts wear.Drinks are affordable. The music is always country amazingI absolutely just love the atmosphere Its still very 1980s inside and the smell is something I just absolutely love It just permeates and I can still smell it now I love it.Definitely go if you love a portable drinks and country music line dance with the mix of todays pop musicAnd on Thursday nights they have line dancing lessons.Theres a very nice patio area outsideGreat views of downtown Dallas and oak lawn. There are two inside bars for socializingAnd they have karaoke
What else is there to say about the Round-Up? I can say a lot, actually. During our latest week in Dallas we visited the Round-Up on several nights and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. To start off they have one of the best happy hours in the city. You can get your buzz on for not much dough. We dealt with a number of bartenders here but our faves were Sassy & Tyler. While we liked them for different reasons they were both awesome. The environment cannot be beat. I mean, were talking about one of the most storied gay bars in the country. Plenty of people to see and meet as long as you arent afraid to socialize a little. We had a credit card discrepancy occur when returning home and after talking with the owner (Gary?) and following up with David we cleared everything up in less than 24 hours. Considering I had left the state I was so pleased the matter was resolved so easily & professionally. We will definitely be returning on our next visit to Dallas. Thanks guys!
KJ did not provide the lyrics to the song we sang and then tried to act like we were at fault. Ive never walked off stage in the ten years Ive come here but I did tonight. The lyrics were not in screen. Thats not what kareoke is about! Good thing I know the owners. Thanks for giving our tip back that you did not earn. Pathetic. Ive never had this horrible of am experience at Round Up my life!
Iconic bar on the strip. Bring you dancing shoes!
Love Round up!Such a fun place! The staff are all amazing, wonderful people.A large selection of bar areas to choose from. The music is always great!Karaoke in the parlor every night!LOVE the patio (both upstairs and downstairs).Of course it gets a little crowded on the weekends, but thats to be expected.Stop by round up for a great time!
Just came from London . Absolutely fantastic , taken care of by the bar personnel . Honestly cannot fault it . However it is Wednesday . Hopefully they will remember me come Saturday .Loved the place and definitely worth the trip .I was in the top bar , regrettably I was a little to worse for the beer and a ten hour flight . However felt at home and looking forward to visiting this great establishment and bartenders again ….
So fun, definitely recommend checking out a show 🌈
I would like to take a moment to appreciate Tyler in the front bar(parlor). no matter what his day has been; hes always a compassionate smile abd a giggling friendly face. Any and all bad afternoons seem to melt under the care and attentive nature of true Men like him. Its important to recognize people who make your day a little easier EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.GOD DOESNT MAKE MANY LIKE HIM.
I went to get a shot with a friend, I came out fully blacked out not knowing what had happened, this happened on a Tuesday 6:30pm. Got a urine test tested positive for some drug called Buprenorphine.Luckily I was able to make out safely as my friend gained some consciousness, but just be aware that this is happening, I put in a police report and sent the video of the guy at the bar.
Friendly, attentive staff; good drink specials, quality drinks, and Rocky!! These are all good reasons to visit the Round-Up. Wonderful rooftop beer garden to accommodate the needs of smoking patrons. Visible security adds a level of security to your night out. My only complaint would be the lack of bathroom accommodations for the female identifying customers.
Wonderful place to go. The staff are awesome!!! The drinks and priced very well and its just an awesome place to go especially if you like to dance. This is my favorite club in Dallas and I highly recommend going in there! Always clean and always fun! They deserve more than 5 stars! Id give them 100 stars if I could! Love this place!!!
Once or twice a month they have disco night here its really really fun out of all the places in cedar
One bartender was making my friend feel like his service wasnt important enough. The bartender was apparently playing favorites with his regulars and not really paying a whole lot of attention to my friend, basically making him feel like his service was not appreciated. I kinda got this same vibe when I ordered a drink. We ended up leaving early and my friend told me he wouldve been happy to stay and spend more money had he gotten better service.
This place is a different experience altogether. During the weekends it gets packed, and you have a wide variety of people. Sure enough youll get a good amount of cowboy hats, music, and dancing. The drinks are fairly priced and theres regular brands and top tier options which you can ask your bartender to use. The bars are spaced across the square space surrounding the dance floor, so make sure you jump in and dance along with everyone else!
The bartender near the restrooms was extremely rude. A friend of mine had one question and he said “We are extremely busy have you ever ordered at a bar before?” In a very condescending way.
I cant give enough stars! Was in there last week and stop by regularly when Im in Dallas. Bartenders are nice looking and friendly, and the atmosphere is upbeat and fun. On top of that, I had a flight to catch and left my phone at the bar. After getting in touch with a manager Kevin, he shipped my phone home to me the next day. Best service Ive ever received all around. Thank yall, especially Kevin, so much.
I get it were in a pandemic but attitude from one of the bartenders in the middle bar is not acceptable. I ordered 3 drinks. One was a bourbon soda. He made a bourbon seven. Ive bartender for 5 years. We hear and make mistakes. But to be rude when i come to you asking for a correction. Is just poor manners. It was the bald bartender in the middle tonight. Round Up Im a long time patron and was happy to finally come back till tonight. Youre better than that behavior.
Bartender threatened to Punch me in the face because I was apparently shoving my card at them, same person also refused to give/sell my friend a water until she bought a drink. The rest of the staff was wonderful, but this one person kind of ruined everyones vibe.
Went frequently during my 5 years in Dallas. One of the best gay night clubs Ive been to in the country. Great for dancing and karaoke!
This bar isnt what it used to be. has gotten a big clickish and unfortunately does what a lot of gay country bars have started doing by catering to the gay dance music crowd late nights and on sundays. The crowds on weekends can get really rude and obnoxious and drinks are regularly spilled on the wooden dance floor .A lot of intoxicated people too.Thats why this place needs professional bouncers, the bussers and doormen have jobs to do and shouldnt have to double as bouncers.
Denied entry because I had a Louis Vuitton bag in hand on a Wednesday night so I dropped it in the trunk of my car and proceeded back for approved entry. Its too bad the place doesnt see money when it walks through the door! The brut at the front door stated my bag was too big but per the picture I shared of the Hello Kitty bag allowed in the bar (my bag was smaller), it seems he just discriminated against me because I was a male carrying a bag! Id love to present the picture to him and challenge his judgement but to be honest, Im afraid the guy might assault me for being called out for discriminatory practices!I wonder what he would have said if I walked in the door wearing full Hermēs equestrian couture complete with a Birkin 40?Ive been on weekends and they could use a DJ who can beat match, understands keys and can mix tempo.Let me know if you want to reconcile my review and lift your stars up.......
Really nice establishment, very spacious on its not so busy nights during the week so you can actually walk around and enjoy the space. The dancing is a nice touch, very entertaining on top of some entertaining drag shows. Wish they played a wider variety of music but they do country very well. Come often and will continue to come, one of the nicest places on the strip.
I first set foot in the Round Up in 1982-I was tired of going to straight bars & getting hit on; I had a nice neighbor who was gay, and he suggested that we go there. The minute I walked through the door, I felt welcome-the bartenders were friendly, the atmosphere was great, everyone looked to be having a good time, the dance floor was full of (mostly) men, and oh, could they dance! Not being shy, I asked a fellow to dance, and the rest is history. I danced there for many years, had many wonderful partners, and had some of the BEST times of my life there! Many hearts were broken when it burned down, but we made do until the new one was built, and then came back in force when it re-opened, making more happy memories. It truly is a wonderful place, and has stayed that way over the years. Itll ALWAYS be a source of happy memories for me, and I recommend it highly!
Be careful, they will decide their own tip after you paid and marked out zero for the tip. I left cash as a tip, so he got double. Never heard of a bar adding gratuity after you sign, usually if it’s a bigger order they already include it.
The staff here is not very friendly. If you can ignore that you’ll have a good time. Drinks are good. Staff is does not know the concept of customer service in a bar/club setting which is key to success. But outside of that it’s a good time.
Rude staff and they used to be hot. Now they all look homeless. Its become a joke of a bar. Their drinks and music are weak. Save your money and go to another bar.
Went there with friends the other night to enjoy some karaoke…but what happened to your old and very nice kareoke dj? That new dude does not have a good selection nor a good variety of genres. He’s to fixed on Pop and Rap plus he purposely kept messing with the lyrics of the song I was singing, and kept fast forwarding it, but acted “confused” and really seemed annoyed. Ya need a different job girl! Please bring back the guy that used to be there for years and years and had great great selection of music genres.
I’ve been going to the bars on Cedar Springs for 10 years. S4 used to always be the spot you had to end up at. Not anymore the staff is rude and they steal things. I’m not sure what changed at Roundup but the management has been killing it these past few years. Great music, great dancing, good bartenders, decent pricing on the drinks. If you’re ever visiting in Dallas and People tell you S4 is the place to be, skip it. You’ll have more fun at Round Up.
Fantastic bar with an authentic country/western feeling. Always busy, with an active dance floor. They have free country dance lessons Tues-Thur, that Im hoping to start taking someday. The Parlor has Karaoke occasionally. The addition of the upstairs patio was very nice. This would be my go-to bar, if only I liked country music!
We loved the environment, we had a really good time and we felt like everyone was there just to be themselves and have fun. Would go back anytime!
I would give 0 stars if i could. Both bouncers at the back and front are so mean and pretentious and kicked my friends out for having a “fake id” when it was REAL and kicked another one out for being foreign. OMG WHAT????? racist. Bouncer at the back also physically touched my friend and they were both yelling GET OUT at the front and back. telling all my friend to never come here again. DO BETTER ROUND UP
One of my favorite gay bars in Dallas and a must if you are visiting. Its a great spot thats combines a typical gay club setting infused with the style and charm of the Texas. No where else have I seen more guys in tucked in plaid shirts, denim blue jeans, and cowboy hats!
$30 cover for a typically half empty bar? No thanks. Also to the bouncer asking rudely if we thought it was free… well buddy, most bars don’t require a cover to get in. Leave the cover for the under 21 crowd. This place has gone down hill after the pandemic and it shows. Attendance has been significantly impacted.
Great bar to go have drinks at. Enjoy the outdoor patio and have a good time. They will make you smile. Good music and lots of fun. Go get drunk or just go enjoy some company of other family. This is a gay bar, just so you know!
Used to drink there until I was victimized by a bartender that served me a drink with spit and chewing tobacco floating in the glass and trying to blame it on the dishwasher I was sitting were the dishwasher was at and all the dishes he washed he turned upside down . Didn’t get a sorry from the bartender and he obviously denied it because the management said it was he said/ he said and said there was nothing they could do about it. I recommend anyone that comes to this club bring your on glass and be carful who serves you !!! 🤬🤬🤬 “a rocky place” keep in mind herpes has no cure just looking out use your own judgment. Thumbs down 👎
The new bouncer at the front is very rude and due to his attitude 10 people left and would not even go through the door. After a pandemic you should be nicer to customers and more inviting to make them want to come to your establishment, not drive them away.
I wouldn’t give this place star at all, we were from out of town and didn’t know we couldn’t smoke in there and my girlfriend went to restroom, and while she was the restroom a worker came up to me and immediately starting yelling at me forcing me out the door. When I went to restroom to try to tell her they were kicking me out he began shoving/cursing at me to push me out. This was completely unacceptable as a patron he could have told me to put it out without being so aggressive. I won’t be spending any of my money here. I will also be contacting the better business bureau and the health department to file a complaint because the place was disgusting.
This goes out to the Gemini karaoke host who loves to hear themselves sing. If you say “Let’s hear it for the gays, let’s hear it for the lesbians, let’s hear it for the straights, let’s hear it for the bisexuals because if you’re going to buy me a drink then imma be sexual” and then proceed to leave out the trans and queers in your hoo-rah then I’m going to be upset and continue to think that round up is not a safe place for the T’s and Q’s. Let’s not forget the backbone of the LGBTQ’s. Karaoke Parlor 1 out of 10.
I honestly think the name of this place is all about rounding up the best of everyone in, and supporting the gay community and giving them sexy bartenders and strong cocktails, and calling it a hot night. Look for Rocky’s bar if you want a big “Hey Girl” that feels like a hug. The gay socialite loves this place.
Canned all drag shows with no notice to the entertainers. These hard working people that carried them through the pandemic are being replaced with...pool tables and a quarter machine. Im shocked because the owners have a better reputation than that.
The bartender here are borderline racist. One of the bartender only served the white people around us and when we asked for a drink, he was extremely rude and made a disgusted face at us( mostly a group of brown and black people)and literally only took the order for the only white person in our group. I don’t know how else to take this experience other than them being racist.
The Round up Saloon is one of the best country western clubs in Dallas Texas. The bartenders, the managers & music is the best for getting down with the sounds! Drinks are great as well. Everyone is welcome with respect! Larry swann
This place is amazing. It was SO BUSY during pride and I thought it was gonna take forever to get a drink but all the bartenders work really well and quick. Also they play the BEST music and everyone is so nice to you on the dance floor its magical.
I was visiting the city of Dallas and decided that I wanted some entertainment. After not caring for a couple of the bars on the Strip, I walked inside of the Round-Up Saloon. At first I was a bit skeptical because of the older, bear crowd (not my type at all), but I decided to stick around. I got my drink from the fabulous bartender Chantelle in like 30 seconds. Apparently Tuesdays might be a Karaoke night because I walked right in to the middle of an Aladdin song. This was the only bar I actually had fun at! The others were not welcoming to strangers but here all the bears were just a fun crowd!
Round Up is great. As someone whos a little more introverted, I love it during Saturday and Sunday afternoons.Chris is the best bartender ever. He works the back bar on Saturday afternoons.
This bartender was rude for no reason I promise you. We literally just stood there:
Bike hostile. Rode my bike to this bar from downtown. Had a backpack on me to hold my bike lock. They wouldnt let me in. Offered to have them inspect it. Offered to let them hold on to it. No dice. Ridiculous. They need to realize it isnt the 1980s anymore and young people dont have cars.
The atmosphere has changed, the customer service can be a hit or miss, ugh like Glenn total douch!, he didnt even want to take my order and I was the only person that was there at the bar; started to kill my night out with my friends but it if it wasnt for the MORE experienced bartenders like Jordan (My FAV!), and Kirt (Professional & Aswesome!) and seeing the familiar faces made the night fun.
Had a great time with my love. I was skeptical, being a northerner but they played a variety of music. Mostly guys but they were welcoming to us ladies. They also have a karaoke bar attached.
I love coming here with my coworkers, I’ve never had a problem. Great shows, they have karaoke, and great drinks prices. I will always come back here. Great vibes!!!
On of the best bars I have ever been to, great environment & vibe. when in Dallas will definitely return.
The round up was such a fun place, but 3/12 when I took a friend we were treated so rudely. Maybe if the door guy wasn’t so busy drinking in the corner he wouldn’t have to come screaming at us in the middle of the bar to check IDs. Hmm... embarrassing and not cute.
Coming from out of town, I wanted a place to dance, relax, and enjoy a night out. This place is friendly and welcoming. Go on a Wednesday for amazingly fun dance lessons. The teacher is hilarious and helpful and by the end of the night, you be hanging the time of your life.
If youre up for some boot scootin awesome thigh slapping good fun then round up saloon it for you. Great crowd great staff great music and real good prices on the beer. Some of these gentlemen take their Texas two step very very seriously!
Although I dont hit the clubs much anymore, and honestly I was too afraid of looking like I had 2 left feet to even attempt to two step in front of anyone, The Roundup Saloon has always been one of the friendliest, welcoming and most comfortable venues for sure in the Oak Lawn area, and probably in the country. They donate time and money and even their dance floor for charity events and shows and often have something nice grilling on the back patio. This is a big BIG place so for the day crowd, the front bar serves as a perfect place to saddle up to the bar and enjoy your favorite beverage with down to earth people who will actually talk to you serve you a cold one without the side of Dallitude. Look....just go....day, night, drag show, Karaoke, or dance floor full of boot scootin hotties, its a guaranteed good time!!!
Closed due to covid restrictions. Used to be my favorite place when they were open until one night I forgot to close an open tab and the bartender gave himself a $40 tip on a 2 drink bill. I called repeatedly and even disputed with my credit card company but since I never had a receipt they won. I would probably never go again.
They kicked our DD out saying she was drunk (i guess she had too many bottles of water?). What a trash bar. Don’t waste your time or money, it was better pre Covid.
The check-in guy was RUDE tonight. I’ve never had this experience here until tonight. The management better change out this guy, or I’m NEVER coming here again, and I’ve been coming here for a long time. He completely ruined the vibe.
One of the largest gay bars in the city. Primarily country but has a popular karaoke lounge. Weekends will get extremely crowded and parking is a nightmare. No valet.
Love the Round-Up! Rocky is AMAZING!
There was 13 in my friends that are coming into the roundup because my brother is from Connecticut and his wife and it was three brothers were coming in for his birthday.I went in early kind of set it up and I realized that I got a super small backpack and they refused me and told me no that you cant come inWe havent seen each other in like a couple of years so the concept was eight people times 20 imagine that for like profit and they refused itMaybe random look for crystal meth somewhere else or heroin not inside of my tiny backpack sorry you lost me as a customer Ive been coming here since 1990
Me and my friend Grant and another friend went to the round up last night we went and sang a couple of songs at karaoke I did the rose by Bette Midler and my friend Grant did a country song and one Beatles song and my other friend he just enjoyed us singing and the wonderful drink prices the wells were $3 a piece we always tiped them a dollar or two The bartenders are very courteous and friendly we had a great time!!!!!✝️♥️♥️♥️♥️🇺🇲😊🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
Fun atmosphere! Great dance floor! Bartenders are awesome!Drinks are a little pricey if it isnt happy hour, but its worth it!We will be back!
Great music and the bartender offered a very good service. definitely one of the best gay clubs. I think its the best one so far in the area. 100% recommended.
A must visit for any out-of-town guy looking for a Texas gay bar experience. Its a big place with lots to take in, but we had a good time - even the straight boys I brought.
Trevor is great!!! Highly recommended.
Not what it once was. Since the pandemic the staff and bartenders are rude and dont care anymore. Bought a drink and asked for a glass of water and they said no you have to buy a bottle of water. Clearly dont need to support this bar anymore.
Easily the hottest gay bar in dallas among those in cedar springs. Great music, large spaces, outdoor areas, a food truck, hot bartenders. Seriously a rainbow must-go
It’s okay, drinks are relatively cheap . The major issue with this place is the lack of diversity in music and drag show. It’s the same thing over and over and over. After a while it gets boring.
I’ll give them 3 stars because the bar has good music and a very nice dance floor but the bartender that works in the middle area that is right next to the bathroom has a rude diva attitude that doesn’t know how to make drinks… 🍹 🤮 👎🏽
The music they play goes from okay to good to immediately undanceable.Only good at after 12 M CT and even then their music choices are questionable...It feels like tonight they had a substitute dj...poor music choices make the night boring.
This is my favorite place to come dance. Always a good time to be had. Usually very busy and can have long lines at the bar, but definitely worth it.
I was unfortunately discriminated against by the staff at the establishment
Best gay bar in Dallas! Friendly staff and awesome events. Just here visiting but came every night and felt treated like a local!
Apparently if you dont have teethe you can be kicked out if you try to get between other people so I wont be back.... You people should really try to ensure that your passing customers are able to have a good night
Decent gay bar with big dance area but rude bartenders have been killing the vibe for several years now. I have no qualms tipping 0 from now on 🙂
Every time I go to the bathroom there’s men in the stalls having sex and it doesn’t bother anyone in there. So gross and nasty.
Love everything about this but except the dance instructor. Just because he has a great personality and he is nice does not mean he should be teaching line dancing. No. Please.
Worst bar ever… hahaha really this is the gay clubs in Dallas? Hahaha 🤣
Sorry but they need to change the DJ, is to old to find new and fresh music.I have been coming to this place for close to 12 months and is always the same music.
Good time except was overcharged. $52 for 4 bottled beers and two well drinks. DO NOT START A TAB!
This is single handedly the best bar in the entire world. Have visited a few times from Australia and describe as a mix between my Disneyland and Mecca.
Nice bar. The atmosphere is really nice, along with the friendly people who attended. Definitely a place you would want to check out.
Richie is the best! Great bar!
The best bar in Dallas! Really like all of the different areas/rooms. Amazing $1 jello shots!
Since when did they start charging a cover? One of the bouncers is also rude AF. Its a shame, this place is not what it used to be.
Always fun a great bar to come and be yourself. Nice outdoor seating. This bar is in the fruit loop or the gay strip.
I prefer coming between 7pm and 11pm, when they’re still playing country music. Great bar.
Great atmosphere. People are super friendly. Come prepared to dance
Despite the ridiculous COVID rules that you cannot dance, I love this place...The staff, drag queens, and patrons have been very inviting, friendly, inspiring, and uplifting...Also, the square footage is huge which enables large distance between other customers...KEEP THIS PLACE OPEN FOREVER
Great atmosphere, gets pretty crowded on weekends but the bars keep up with the demand. Dancing here is great, outside areas are well kept.
Loud n proud had a ton of fun that night , danced with some nice cowboys, great bar , friendly patrons nice types , love it recommend.
Was living right down the street it was an easy to block walk to go dancing have a couple of beers and do some karaoke!
Servers were rude , forcing tip, when we were done ordering drinks.
The Bar staff is slow with a 20 people line waiting to order, they have attitude when you order like if you were asking for free drinks when you actually pay
Even when it is not so busy the people watching is very fine. When it is super busy then expect to be social and elbow to elbow - or better.
Old school country gay bar... Nice bartenders, nice staff, quick trips to the bar... Rarely much of a wait! Oh, and generally speaking low attitude crowd
I was attacked by the guy at the door yesterday. I don’t care who you are, you don’t touch other people just because you are in a bad mood.
Bartender was the rudest. He literally ruined the ENTIRE night.Sue Ellen’s was a way better vibe anyway !!!
Trevor is the bomb!!! Best ever!!!!
David was a great host at round up! love coming here!
My favorite gay bar in Texas. Yeehaw!
My friends and I love coming here for a night out. It always proves to be interesting. Great atmosphere and I love the crowd!
Horrible bar back, kicked my friend out after they got offended bc he pushed them after they pushed them. No accountability for these nerds.
Was our first time there... not a lot of people, but it was Monday night. We still had a great time! Well be back :-)
One of my favorite gay bars in the country. Great vibe and friendly atmosphere
RU is the “go to” spot in Dallas! The atmosphere is great, and after midnight they play great music.
Raquel at the drag show was amazing. If you’re thinking about going to the drag show I would definitely recommend
Great Bar to hang out & meet people. With a large dance floor. Frank is by far the best bartender.
The most diverse bar on Cedar Springs. It’s a no-brainer to drop by on a night out. Always a great time!
Such an amazing place! The staff is amazing!Bar service is 10/10
Round up Saloon is a place where women feel comfortable hitting men and expect nothing in return.
Great food and amazing service! i loved being here and will definitely be back!
When I went to visit dallas. Went to to this bar. It was fun the drinks are well made, had to good time.
Nice place, very clean and well kept. Everyone seems pleasant albeit not overly friendly to newcomers.
Bartender was friendly. We were there early so we didnt get to see what the night crowd was like.
Best bar in Dallas for meeting friends (old ones and new ones!) - Friendly, but gets VERY crowded on the weekends.
Racists. Don’t come here. Lowkey the bartenders were rude and lowkey racists.
Such a fun place to be at! And David was amazing!
That guy with the whistle needs to get cancelled.
Great place to have a blast. Great drag shows. Drink prices suck.
Cant wait to bring my partner and tear up the floor. Was a nice friendly crowd so welcoming. See yall soon
Very interesting bar. It was fun to check out and the drinks were strong!
I was told by a co-worker of a co-worker that the masks here are sometimes alarming but its a good place to meet a roommate.
One of the best clubs on the strip!
Fun
Awesome place the bartender was so sweet too
Great bar to do some line dancing! Had a great time! 👍
Absolutely love this place. Truly one of a kind establishment. Great fun for all!
This is place is definitely a most go on my list. It offers everything to have a great time.
Great country gay bar. Always a good time. Bring your boots.
Rudest people I think I’ve ever encountered. Very unfriendly atmosphere.
Super fun place full of love!
Great drinks, good special, friendly staff, and a great patio.
Really fun. At 11:45 it switches from country to hip hop & Latin music!
Great energy and good service. DJ is great and provides a fabulous experience!
I would say this is one of Dallas most popular gay bars/dance club.
If you like hearing the word no, then this is the place for you. They act holier than thou. Not a fan.
Place sucks. They dont ever play country music. How can they be called a country bar when they dont play country music.
Love cornhole nights here!
Drinks are super expensive. Thought this was a Country bar, but no country music in over 2 hours.
