So fun! Wasn’t packed full even on a Friday night. The crowd is mostly 25-35 white people. I really liked the bartender with the sanrio kuromi tattoo. People were fun and respectful. The music is country and the dancing is fun. Plenty of boots and cowboy hats. Pricy watered down drinks though, one shot of vodka is 6$. And get your own water bottle lol
This place is a VIBE! Entry is $8 which isn’t too bad. Parking lot is very spacious and so is the dance floor. The live band was so good AND THERES A MECHANICAL BULL! $5 to ride plus you have to sign a waiver of course. There’s other arcade games here too! They mostly played country music while I was there but there was a brief segment of hip-hop and pop that I greatly appreciated. If you’re looking to get your yeehaw on on a saturday night, pull up and catch a vibe!
First time visiting. Very cool place with great music. You better enjoy crowds, cause it was packed out. I would go back but not all the time. Just to many people for me, couldnt get on the dance floor without bumping into someone. Other than that, the place was great.
I am obsessed with going. It’s my go to place on the weekends. My happy place. Normally I don’t like driving long distances, but I will happily do it to come here. I always talk about red river to anyone who will listen. 😂It gets more packed around 9:30ish and more fun. But love the dance lessons that they offer. Great way for a beginner to learn a little bit before and getting to know some people.
My favorite place ever. My happy place. Honestly have never had a bad experience here. They guys are great the girls are great. Security is on point. Bartenders are great mixers. It’s a fun time. You won’t be disappointed!
The place with in it itself is great. Drinks are okay. Music and dance floor are awesome. But the Bouncers are trash. They’re bullies with no patience or manners. I understand in a place like this you have to establish dominance as a bouncer with so many drunk people but they are just rude. For example I was looking for my ID in my wallet for a few seconds and a big guy says there’s a line behind you move in a tone. Mind you the line behind me was my entire group of family/friends. Then after 2 am like 210 one guy comes up to us yelling “I gave yall more than enough time to finish your drinks!” And snatched a cup from my friends hand. We have never seen this bouncer let alone heard him say anything. I hate to mention this because it’s 2024 but we were a group of Mexican and African Americans btw. Some LGBT. So hopefully this was not part of the reason why all us girls were treated this way. I hadn’t been here in over a decade but my niece enjoyed her birthday as she is becoming an adult. Her mom, aunts and cousins were happy to join her as this was her choice. Overall had a great time but was not a very welcoming place to brown women.
This place is incredible. Dancing lessons with Blake at 730 every night are super fun, instructional, and great icebreakers to meet people. The bar staff are friendly and fast. The dance floor is huge and a great balance of guys and girls for dancing. All in, it was a great night and it looked like a fantastic place to have a birthday party.
Such a cool place. Huge on the inside, great music, lovely bartenders, good amount of pool tables and the prices are good. 100% if you are in the area, this is a must see on the weekends. Also, the hotdog stand outside, unmatched, best hotdogs ever.
We definitely had a blast! I’m not one who ever pictured myself going to a country dancehall but I went to celebrate my sister’s birthday. She had a cowboy cookout dinner so we fit right in. I was suprised with the atmosphere of the place! The bathrooms had service for people needing hygiene products like deodorant, perfume, gum, hairspray, etc. Also, I loved watching everyone line dancing! It was a dope experience for sure! A concert, napkin throwing, and bull riding! I would definitely visit again.
Always fun to pop in for dancing. It has been getting more and more crowded and I find people on the dance floor are not as courteous as they used to be. If you go dont take your drink on the dancefloor.... be aware of your surroundings....
Live music, two-stepping all night long (with some party/edm sessions) and the friendliest bartenders! Christina and Jessica are the best. It‘s a mixed crowd of all ages and it‘s always fun here. No need to be good at dancing at all, it‘s very casual. Dress in cowboy gear and don‘t forget to go to Blake‘s free dance lesson on Friday and Saturday at 7pm!
18+ dance hall, gets really busy but still a lot of fun. Parking can sometimes take awhile to find and getting into the parking lot too can take awhile. Pretty unorganized getting in with multiple lines and no one has any idea which to get into.
Place is sexist and lame, they have a dress code for men but not for women. Women are allowed to wear next to nothing while men have to comply looking like every basic boring guy out there wearing just a t-shirt and belt looped pants. Women can go in looking like a glammed-out rave babe, men are forced to look either like a cowboy or like a hobo. More power to women, but I want to look good too when Im going out for a night of fun.
Edit (the place is already awesome. But playing some Wheeler Walker Jr. would blow the top off this mama 😏)This place is hands down the best place to go. No drama, great music, people dancing. Music is a great mix and diversified.Beer is reasonably priced. They have pool tables, a mechanical bull, food trucks outside, police on standby. You cant go wrong coming here.It doesnt even matter if you dont know how to two step. Just come on by. Someone might just teach you or just dance to the beat of your own drum.
Overall ambiance is cool I’ll rate it 7.5/10 definitely worth going to. Although I’ll add that participants need to wear deodorant prior to attending for the sake of my nostrils…last time I held my breath this much was when I was snorkeling in Hawaii…
Ummm, this Minnesota girl lived her Urban cowboy dreams. Those Texas vibes are real here. This place is the most 👌Awesome cocktails and even better prices. Our one bartender was great and another one snapped at us for not knowing each bartender has their own till and you cant mix and match.😦The guy taking ids at the front door was awesome.Good mix of music and the live music was exceptional. This is a must-go-to place🍷Top 10% Google Bar Reviewer📷Top 4 % Google Photographer🍽10% Google Restaurant Reviewer
Pretty fun place. We were in town and stopped by after reading about it online. Good mix of music, lots to look at and do. Pool tables, mechanical bull, dancing.Only weird thing was one of the bartenders. Didn’t get her name but mid-40s, brown hair pulled in a bun, at the bar towards the pool tables. We wait in line and once we get up to the counter she just completely ignored us. I don’t know if we looked familiar or what happened but she started finding anyone else to serve and the line behind us just kept getting longer and longer then she goes to the other end of the bar to take shots with some guys. Finally the girl behind us asked what was going on and when she finally came up to her, ordered our drinks for us. She carried them over with her fingers in the drinks, and put them down so hard it splashed everywhere….no clue what happened there but it really killed the vibe of the evening.
First word that comes to my mind? Phenomenal. Cowboy Red River answers all your needs. Want to strap up some boots and get groovin’? Sure ✅Want to get rowdy and hop on the mechanic bull? Sure ✅Or if you’re feeling a more laid back kind of night, sure grab a seat and enjoy the live music. CRR has it all. Strongly recommend dropping by if you’re in the Dallas area. Will be back for my birthday.
On a family trip to Dallas, we wanted to find a honky tonk and hear country music. We are from Connecticut so this bar brought my Texas dreams to fruition -pickle back shots & mechanical bull included!!! It was my first visit time line dancing and so many patrons showed us the way. We had so much fun and a few cowboys asked my aunts to dance - which was so sweet. The club is so big and lots of different bars to grab drinks. If you want to try something different I highly recommend it!
This is the most fun I had in awhile,it is hard not to dance with friends. It is very crowded at the peak times such as 11PM. A live band with a variety of songs to sing ranging from country to Hip Hop. I danced with a few people but the highlight was when everyone did the cupid shuffle. Great drinks, also the waiter was very attentive. I would recommend this place for everyone looking to have a great time!
Im not a country music person, nor am I a dancing person, but I had a lot of fun here. They offer free lessons at the start and free entry. The drinks are cheap and they have more than dancing. I learned to two step as well as played some pool and watched friends ride a mechanical bull. A fun experience, but not one for the faint of heart. People will do drugs in the bathroom, some people there are just trying to find someone to keep them warm that night. Security is good and quick and knows the kind of people this place attracts. It gets crowded quick as the night goes on. Its my style and pace, but may not be yours.
06/10/2023Free Two Step Dance lessons on Thursday, Friday and Saturday (swing lesson) nights 7pm-ish. Ladies night is Thursday. Well drink specials are $3.50. Lots of bar stations/stands throughout. If you want to dance, hang around the entrances to the dance floor Lots of people will ask to dance. Hip Hop music starts about 10pm-ish and alternates with country. Live band at 9pm. Its clean and free of brawls. Huge parking lot. No food inside. But most nights around 8:30-9pm a sausage cart is outside.
Beers expensive after 9pm. The country music was awesome. The Hip-Hop was okay. The atmosphere is definitely for college kids.
I love this place! Its an awesome place to go to stepping. Great for First Dates especially if theyre not from texas. Give them a little taste of what country life is like here in the middle of the Metroplex
Live band was ok, not enough dance music played between band sets. Almost every table was reserved so if you don’t know to reserve a table then you’re standing all night. Or lol you can pay 500 to sit in the VIP HAHAHAHAHAHA. other people must think the same because it was empty. All the bartenders were fast and very friendly and the drinks are spot on.
Great place to dance with the circle dance floor and multiple bars around to access. Dance lessons starting out is a nice touch and keeps the music mostly country with limited line dancing .
This place is my favorite stop for honky-tonkin! Great country vibes and is very well run.
Highly recommend not going here if you want to get harassed by this bouncer. This bouncer was so incredibly rude to my friends and I. We are paying customers and the management should know better than to allow such behavior from their staff. Its completely unacceptable to treat patrons with disrespect, and its a shame that our night out was ruined by this individuals behavior. Well definitely be taking our business elsewhere in the future.
Love ladies night. Wish the carpet wasn’t sticky. throwing piles of napkins onto sticky floors that then glues to your boots, makes waking around feel gross, like scraping cow patties off
Let me spin you a yarn about the night Cowboys Red River in Dallas changed my life. So, there I was, trying to impress this country belle with my best line dancing, when chaos descended like a stampede of wild cattle. A rogue mechanical bull broke free, sending the dance floor into a frenzy. In that moment of panic, I found myself clutching onto a fellow cowboy for dear life, both of us laughing and screaming as we dodged the bulls path. But amidst the adrenaline rush and the laughter, something clicked. It was like I had stumbled upon a tribe of kindred spirits, bound together by laughter and shared moments of pure, unadulterated fun. It made me realize that life isnt about sticking to the script; its about embracing the unexpected, finding joy in the chaos, and holding onto the people who make every moment worth living. Cowboys Red River isnt just a bar – its a crucible of life-changing experiences, where strangers become friends and where wild nights leave you with memories that last a lifetime. And for that, Ill forever tip my hat to the rowdy, raucous magic of Cowboys Red River.
Awesome x the othernite! Learning to dance. Instructor is great and very friendly. Great staff! Music was awesome as well. Got a little irritated on last Friday 3/12 cause ALL the tables was reserved for people w birthdays and none were available for others yet still had an awesome x and staff esp the bartender ladies rock!
It’s fine but please less tinnitus inducing music. I promise the bass doesn’t need to be ramped to the greatest maximum. Seeing grown men cover their ears made me realize that it was actually an insane amount of bass and I wasn’t being a hypochondriac. I like the bands that play but when the bands stop, they start playing their own music and turn it to the max possible volume to absolutely demolish your eardrums like I could feel them shaking in my skull. Other than that I always have a great time here with friends.
Went here for dance lessons as a bonding exercise. Had a lot of fun. Came back on the weekend and it was just people spinning around the whole time. You couldnt dance because of people trying to show off mediocrity.
My husband and I have been going to Red River since we’ve been together, and enjoy each time we come back. We love to people watch, play pool and dance to some slow songs together .
The door men had very dirty shirts and the carpet had leftover trash from the night before. I unknowingly sat at the preferred table of the Dance Instructors assistant before she arrived, she placed her stuff on one of the stools at my table and then this young lady repeatedly showed me a lot of attitude. Two thumbs down!!
What an awesome country dance bar!!! We went on a Thursday night. This is where the party is at. The setup is great. There are multiple bars with hot bar tenders. The dance floor is huge. The music is great. The night we went it was about 80% country dance, 10% line dance, and 10% club music. The locals here dance as well as anywhere I have seen (on par with College Station, which is really a huge compliment). Prices are very reasonable. Check it out.
My friends and I have been coming on Thursday nights to the dance lessons and stay a few hours afterwards. I cant say enough good things about this place. Everyone is kind and only there to have a good time and learn to dance. The music is great and theres always a band. I only met gentlemen so far who are respectful and not there to hook up. Its been a fun experience and I cant wait for the next time.
I have only been once, so I do not know if this is typical, but it was so crowded on the dance floor that it was nearly impossible to 2-step. The vibe was really cool - very high energy, but I was disappointed that we couldnt really dance. There was a band playing that was really good. I wanted to like this place, but we only stayed for a half hour before leaving to go someplace else. Then, it was difficult to get out. It was like leaving a concert - traffic was so backed up with people trying to get into the parking lot that it was difficult to get out. So overwhelming! Could be fun with a bigger dance floor and bigger parking lot.
My friends and I sat down at a table that had empty cups on it and they kicked us out because the bartender said we had been “drinking them.” We hadn’t touched them. Thanks for nothing Red River.
Had a great time came here for a friend’s birthday party. Danced and rode the mechanical bull. You do have to have cash for the mechanical bull just a heads up.
When the love band is playing is awesome. When they are playing country its amazing. When they play hip hop from the 90s! It sucks hard. They even played a Bollywood song the other night. Why! We dont have enough places to country dance.Once great thing about this place though. There really isnt a place to line dance. Which is awesome.
So much loud, horrible country music. What happened to GOOD country??Wait, was there ever good country?
Best place ever 10/10 recommend! Great music and so much fun. So much diversity.
Bouncers are inconsistent. One bouncer says put up your chain while another doesn’t. One guy also said military ID didn’t work while he let another in. They need to set standards.
Got roofied at this place last year and no one cared, not even the security/cops on duty. They just wanted me to go home. 0/10 recommend. Don’t go here ladies, be safe.
Where is the country music? Its just like every other city. Trying to conform to the YEAR N AGE. Naw.. do more country music. This place is gonna fall soon....Under fire
DISHONEST BARTENDERS Try asking the bartenders for a receipt and they will get “security “(bunch of kids right out of high school) to kick you out claiming you are drunk. This is the second time I come and they charge me way more than what I spent. BEWARE bartenders will put other people drinks on your tab on purpose! I tried to ask for a receipt and figure things out next thing you know security puts me on a choke hold and I am sitting outside with not hat or wallet.
Such a fun bar! Always a good time! The live music is always top tier
Quite literally the worst experience I’ve had a bar. The beer was skunked, had two beers and a shot and was asked to leave. The bathrooms smelled like a dumpster of throw up! The only enjoyable thing about the night was the band. Will not be back. If it’s your birthday and you plan on getting turned up don’t come here.. the 12 year old that watches you go in the bathroom will ask you to leave when you come out. Not a fan!
The place was crowded room. The environment was friendly the waitresses bartenders were attractive. Scantily dressed very vibrant atmosphere lots of dancing pool tables mechanical bull. Not sure I would go there again not sure it’s my thing, but definitely somewhere you can go to have fun.
Had a GOOD time, mixed crowd and NO I was not the only colored there... I had a Damn GOOD time
Sure a fantastic place to have fun an meet ppl all the place is too good
Tried a 3 step dance - very different! Were rock n rollers and found it hard to walk as we danced as Were used to staying in one spot. Glad we tried though!! Enjoyed the band and watching the other dancers. Lessons available, different styles of dance on different nights so check which night you want to go.
Very nice place. Not too crowded. Love the 90s country that was played.
I love going on Thursdays for ladies night! Its so much fun and has become a regular thing.
This place is pure Texas and a great time. I came here for their Halloween party and it was a blast! There’s something here for everyone... even if you wouldn’t think you’re the type to country dance. Friendly folks and bouncers. Definitely a place to visit on your trip if you, your family or friends are in from another part of the country.
Its like someone started a nightclub as a prank to see how many country/Texas stereotypes could be jammed into one place. But then everyone took it seriously and it got pretty cool, even though you feel a bit embarrassed. Its the dogecoin of nightlife. Switch up the music a bit (the house band plays much more pop country from the 2000s then any real country music), stop throwing napkins (why?) and get the tabs between the bars linked.Seriously though, nice inexpensive fun all night.
The men restrooms in this place are disgusting, Im talking third world country disgusting. Not kidding... The doors are falling off (see picture below) the walls are rotting and have holes. The 30-40 years old tiles are falling off the walls. The toilets are clogged 80 % of the time.... disgusting. You can tell the owners of this place don’t care to maintain the place and the restrooms which is disrespectful to the people that go there.
Staff is amazing, great place for dancing. Came here as a bachelorette party and had a lot of fun.
Great country bar/dancehall.Pool tables are available and there are several small bars all around so theres never a big wait for drinks. Live music and free dance lessons.
I come to this bar every time I come to Texas, its always a best time with the music, drinks and meeting new people. Always a must when coming to Texas!!!!
Great experience at Red River!! Friendly staff with great service. What a fun experience! I will be going back often and I highly recommend this place to others.
Betsy at the liquor tub makes terrible drinks and has a horrible attitude. The bartender, Stephanie that used to be at that spot was such a sweetheart and made really good drinks. Also Betsy dresses like a customer instead of what all the other bartenders wear. I do not recommend going to Betsy at the liquor tub by the bull and punching bag her service was just horrible
Great place to dance and meet new people. Definitely coming back more often.
Great until we were kicked out for videoing and the entire bar everyone had a cellphone in hand videoing. Bartenders were great, generous with the shots. Lotta girls looked like tramps. Dress code not in place. But thats young girls these days. Guys looked nice, cowboy attire. Music was really good, current. The band was really good too. 3 🌟 is for kick out.
Was here once, the dance floor gets crowded, but I dont think thats a bad thing for someone like me coming to two step. I can dance small so all this meant is more dance partners. It blew my mind I never seen any place quite like it, I really enjoyed my time here. And the dance classes are recommended.
Such a fun experience, definitely need to try at least once on your visit to DFW!
A few friends and I (from a small town in Oklahoma) came out and had a hell of a time! Band was amazing, staff was amazing!! Still trying to understand the whole napkin throwing, but we had a great time! Will be back next time in Dallas.
If you own a cowboy hat and enjoy dancing with your boots on then this is your place. Plus there are plenty of women just looking for a reason to sweat on the dance floor. Being sans cowboy hat and new to texas its not quite my cup of tea (or mug of Bud Light). Worth the cultural experience for at least one visit, for sure!🤸
I love this place, the dance floor, the music are good and the people are nice. However everytime I drink liquor here I get sick. I have been drinking for a long time and I know my liquor, I know how much I can drink and what to drink. Here I have had a bad experience multiple times. I only had a few shots and and I got sick, I threw up and bad headache the next day! I am hoping is not what I think it is!
Coming from out of state, looking for a good country western place to dance, we had heard that this is a popular place. At first, we were impressed with the overall size of the place. The dance floor looked like it might be good, and truly, the polish of it didnt require even a dusting of the slick stuff. The problem with such a big place, is the amount of people it can hold is extreme and most of them want to dance, and that requires a substantial sized floor. Whoever decided to put a bar area in the middle of the dance floor failed design class. However, we certainly enjoyed the music.
Very fun place! The music is great and so does the atmosphere
I got turned away at the bar because I refuse to leave a tip like I told them I didn’t know we were required to leave a tip I though that was a chose for you to leave them a tip.
Best best place in Dallas. Victoria is great and management is on point. But that new valet spot is ridiculous. Needs to be back asap.Your traffic is the damn uber not the valet.
I went to Red River last night with my partner to give the venue a shot and see if it was any good. I am non-binary and I showed up dressed in flared black pants, a black t-shirt as shown, a green jacket, black lip stain and black eyeliner. I have a more masculine leaning body type, and the venue holds dress code standards for men including: Must have sleeves, No cuts, No elastic waistbands or athletic type shorts, & No open toe shoes, yet none for women or non-binary individuals. Though I was not breaking any of the dress code rules, I was sought out part way through the night, and though the employee delivering the message was respectful, I was informed that the owner insisted I wear my jacket if I wished to stay at the venue even though I was wearing a short sleeved t-shirt and had a neat appearance. I was irritated but complied and took note of the attire of the guests and employees when I went back in to the venue. I noted many feminine individuals with sparse and very revealing clothing and some masculine individuals in hoodies and ripped jeans and sneakers. It did not feel like this dress code was applied evenly across the individuals at the venue. I felt personally picked out and discriminated against for my appearance and I will not be returning to this dance hall. I would advise fellow LGBTQ+ individuals also steer clear of Red River.
Music was great and drinks were decently priced. Personally, I dont like having to look over my shoulder every second of me dancing with a girl because the dance floor is so packed. I think this place could be a 5-star dance hall if they replaced the middle bar with more dance floor.
Me and my friend minors went in to dance and just have a good time. We had never been there before so when we entered a bouncer let us in not telling us we were supposed to pay or get wristbands or anything. After 30 min being there another bouncer came and said we needed to go outside . We followed him and said that we needed to leave because we did not have x”s on our hands and we tried to explain when we had came in we were not told but they thought we were lying then we got accused of being drunk and the other person next to the bouncer said if we didn’t call an Uber and leave he was going to call the cops on us for pretty much no reason. This place is extremely rude and they do not even give you the chance to talk. They also took our licenses and wrote on a piece of paper. We have no idea where those papers went or even what it was for. They were so set on us leaving that we were extremely disrespected. Y’all need to do better and get better security the ones there are total jerks.
A very wonderful, we were enjoying, but when I went out from inside to smoke a cigarette, I met the guard , he told me where u frome whene i tlld him france he be ride and told me go home and dont ask me question im not ur friend and he vrey diced i dont know lw why but he verry verry verry rude
Really good place to dance at. Been coming here since 2019 and met some great friends along the way! Bartenders here are the best and super friendly. There are police outside for safety because you never know. But over all a really great place to twostep and mingle! However, there are no line dances besides Cupid shuffle and cotton eyed Joe
We had a layover in Dallas and our flight was cancelled so we got to spend the night on the town. We hit the jackpot when we found this bar/dance hall. Amazing floor, (race track style) great music and free dance lessons to boot 👢February 2022
Always a good time at Red! Lots of great dancers and a fun community.
You’d have a better time at Billy Bob’s. The parking is absolutely insane and if you try to park in a neighboring parking lot they will absolutely tow your car and you will have to wait in an hour plus line. Billy Bob’s is worth the drive and cover charge. There’s no room to move inside here without getting felt up and the A/C needs an update. Spend your time and money elsewhere if you’re looking for a true honky tonk experience.
Love it there sexy black men in cowboy boots and the place is really nice
It’s cool they give a free lesson prior to the music beginning. The live band is always great. The bartenders are exceptional. The two downfalls are how crowded the dance floor gets, and the complete lack of dance etiquette. The fast dancers should be on the outside. They dance wherever which causes confusion and clusters of people runny into each other. I think every 15-20 minutes they should announce that fast dancers should be on the outside.
Door man don’t let us in because we short it too hot in Texas not making sense
I loved the setup!!! The bar in the middle, oval dance floor around the bar 🤗, and live music on a stage!! Oh!, and a mechanical bull SO MUCH FUN. I also like the staff/security was good to see. And all people there seemed to be chill

Apparently, there is a new policy that they do not allow people with neck tattoos in. We started to walk out when the old dude in the front allowed someone in with a neck tattoo in. I pointed it out and the old dude dismissed me. I asked the old dude why he let that man in and not my brother. The old dude ignored me again. The other security guy told the old dude the guy had a neck tattoo and the old dude said don’t worry about it and let him in. I started to ask AGAIN why this man was allowed and not my guest. The old man said “ we can’t catch them all”. To which I applied well sir he’s right there. He said repeated him saying and I said well it’s your policy sir there he goes, but it’s not fair you didn’t let us in. He then said it’s on a case by case basis. I did become upset and did say it was discrimination and he got upset and he told the other guy not to let me in for complaining. This place is a waste. The drinks suck. It’s too packed. Restrooms are dirty. They say new policy but on case by case…just not worth it
Stage needs work. Mixed crowd. 3.50 beers Thursday night. Was ok has been better.
I cant believe they can fit that many people inside at one time! Thursdays nights are INSANE here!
Loved it! Dance lessons, mechanical bull and live band. What more could you want?!
Great place to have a drink and do some dancing
Fun place, but they have a very discriminatory dress code. People with neck and face tattoos are not allowed in the bar, and must negotiate entry with the owner. Our friend got rejected and we spoke to the owner who refused to budge. He had no explanation for the rule and just said it was their policy. So, if you are heavily tattooed I would suggest finding another place!
I really, really Enjoy myself and I will go back.. The only thing I didnt like was the drinks. Everyone doesnt like those drinks, have a variety of drinks.
So this place was great... the music was phenomenal...not too loud either... there were plenty of bartenders and wait staff... lots of security... the electronic bill was ok but if you arent in shape and looking hot they dont give you a good ride, just buck you off. The dance floor is horrible since they have a bar in the middle its like being on a race track at Talladega.. there is zero courtesy as far as fast dancers being on the outside lane and slower on the inside. So we didnt get to dance but one song. The drinks are good and well priced so its not too expensive. I doubt Ill go back but it was a nice experience for my first Texas honky tonk
This was the best place to party it up for my sisters bachelorette party!!! Their VIP service is absolutely phenomenal and all the bridesmaids were so impressed. We were looking for a real cowboy experience and they gave it to us. Tavia confirmed and was super accommodating the whole time, she provided the best service we have ever experienced. They make you feel like VIPs and everyone had a blast. We will be visiting Dallas just to come back here.
We had so much fun at Honky Tonk night, dance lessons, live music, great ambiance, huge hall. Staff is super super friendly, definitely must do in Dallas area!
Had a great time. Use caution when or if riding the mechanical bull however drinks are tasty, music/house band is great and staff is welcoming and makes sure all are have smile on their face. Get your boots on for a two-stepping fun night!
Get here from 7-8 for the dance lesson on Saturdays! This was such a fun Texas experience and I highly recommend. My friends and I came here for a girls night on a Saturday and we danced the night away! As long as you stood by the dance floor there were plenty of partners who’d ask you to dance. Around 10:30 they sometimes switch up the music to club and then it will go back to two stepping. Our bartenders were so friendly and fast and waters were only a dollar! We will be back for sure.
I enjoy the bands and always a good time dancing !!
The bouncers were rude and did not treat our group in a respectful manner.
Definitely a must visit place for locals, travelers and people new to Texas. They have free dance lessons on Texas Two-Step Thursday and Friday nights at 7 PM. Thats great as there is no cover charge before 8 PM to get in. Drinks are good priced. There is plenty of parking. I have never felt unsafe here. Overall, its a fun place to dance, listen to country music, people watch, admire the dance skills, or just to hang out.
The owner has a neck and face tattoo rule so if you go here and have neck or face tattoo make sure it’s covered up!!!
We love coming here! Good music and drinks!
Great live Music, big Dance floor! Very nice Bar Tenders and Security personal.
I was in this place for less than 3 minutes before getting kicked out. Upon entering I was marked with a sharpie because I’m under 21 and it was bleeding all over my hand because of how wet the marker was. When I entered I went to the bathroom and washed my hands after (obviously because that is what you do when you use the toilet) and some of the ink bled off in the water. The ink coming off was simply due to the thickness of the marker and the act of washing. Realizing that the ink was running, my friend made a comment about making sure to rinse it off so it didn’t stain our clothes (my top was white). An employee heard this and assumed (wrongly) we were scrubbing off our x’s to attempt to get drinks. The X’s were still incredibly visible (see photo), but when she said she was taking us to the front to get remarked, we did not complain, we were not rude and we followed her to the front. When we reached the front door we were immediately bombarded by another employee (male) who began to intimidate us and yell. The group I was with (three young girls with not a drop of alcohol in our systems and x’s still on our hands) was cooperative and attempted to stay calm as we were berated by a man who was not letting us speak or share our side of the story. We were told to leave the property and had no opportunity to re-enter with fresh marks, nor were we allowed refunds for the cover we paid. It is despicable that grown men were okay with treating innocent girls this way and I will never be returning. I cannot believe that any establishment would ever allow this treatment of customers regardless of what their age is.
Great spot on a weekday to dance. Can be very crowded on the weekends.
Great Place. Nice Crowd. Staff are respectful. Only problem is wait time at the bar for drinks, but its a busy environment so I understand. Giddy Up! Im city born, and enjoy the country feel in this place. Will go again eventually.
Hadnt come in area in long time got my pool sticks stolen even 2 outside bouncers security saw their walk out w my sticks. Then come back inside I found his asked theif about my sticks after asking 3 strangers and 1 bouncer who all saw him walk out w my pool sticks and they asked him and I to leave. Im out my pool sticks theif gets off stealing. Terrible terrible security management. They dont care tht my pool sticks were given from deceased friend.. Would never come again. If I CLD give 0 stars I wld
Normally love this place but management fails. Manager named Derrick has too much of an ego to admit he was wrong and STILL kicked my friend out for flipping off a bar tender after she confirmed it was NOT him. I hope an owner would address this and not let a manager bully their guests and ignore other employees.
WATCH OUT FOR UNANNOUNCED COVERS! Went at 10pm on a Wednesday evening when no band was playing, just general playlist of country songs and line dance music. We were asked to pay an $8 cover for entrance which was not listed on any of their social media posts (consulted before driving out). I will not be suggesting this venue to my friends or colleagues anymore after this evening.
It was my first time and had a blast! All thanks to my friend that also does competitive country dancing and know how to lead a newbie lol.The ambience is great and its a hard party!
Nice atmosphere and great setup. Service was slow at the center bar while the waitress talked and talked to some clown she said was the owner while ignoring the line up of people waiting for drinks. If that was the owner, you need to focus on your business instead of trying to pick up your wait staff. Other bars inside didnt seem to have the same issue. The dance lessons are a joke. Instructor had really poor instructions and moved way too quickly without good explanation.
We randomly decided to check this place out since me and my coworkers had two days in Dallas. We had so much fun! I have never been line dancing before and the atmosphere was amazing! If you want to try something different I highly recommend it!
The atmosphere at this place is incredible. Good music and just a lot of fun. While we were there we made sure to get our drinks from Sara because from the first drink we ordered til we left she was always smiling and having a great time. You could tell she loves her job. We really enjoyed our visit. Even if youre not big on dancing, just sitting listening to the music makes the visit worth it and with people working there like Sara, its no wonder this place is doing an incredible business.
Ive read a few of the comments, and some of these people are crazy. I started going for the cheap drinks. Fell in love with country music and dancing and started going 4 nights a week. Ive traveled all over with the mission of saying Ive danced across the country. Still havent found a better place. My only complaint is that they dont force people with drinks or people not dancing off the floor like they should.
Definitely dont go by yourself if you dont know how to two-step swing . I watched with amazement with all the dance moves on the floor. There is no service you gotta go to the bar but no problem with that, staff was friendly from the door to behind the bar. DJ and band were good I stayed three hours and couldnt dance. I watched the end of the Mavs game, drank a beer, plus watched people shoot pool and fall off the bull.I gotta learn how to do those dance moves, I saw they offer free lessons!
This was my first time for both my husband and I. We had a wonderful time and loved the early learning class they offer before music and band started. My son and his girlfriend attend Wednesdays and Saturday and invited us to try this Saturday now we will try a Wednesday which we plan on doing so soon. We are new at this type of dancing but I had so much fun. This is a country two step, great for new beginners and for two very novice dancers. If you want to enjoy something new and enjoy new country music, you need to try country two step.
Great place to grab some drinks and hit the floor with your girl
This place rocks. Live music is great. And you don’t have to wait long for drinks so many bars the staff knows how to make a drink and the dance floor is packed with so many good people. One of the best cowboy dance bars I’ve been too
Three years ago, I wrote a short precise review. Today I will say, Christina, the bartender in the middle, is awesome. Always pays attention to whos at her bar, whos next, and service with a smile. The band was great, lights and sound were perfect, and the dance floor wasnt so so busy you couldnt dance. I love this place. I always have and still dont have anything bad to report.
Been coming here since I was 18! Love it here !
I had the best time of my life for going out for the first time in Texas. You can ride a bull, dance, and have a lot of available bars. Great staff, fun crowd. If you are new to the area and want a feel for Texas and see the “Texas dancing “ lifestyle, this place doesn’t disappoint! Great locals. It was recommended from a friend too, so u know it’s great!
Love that they have Dance Lessons for Country styles every week & definitely makes for a really fun date night any night of the week! Fantastic crowd and amazing live music some of the nights together make for a truly American experience!
First time in Texas and some friends brought us here. Great atmosphere. Huge dance floor, little bar stations everywhere, live music, pool tables and mechanical bull. Definitely recommend this place.
If you like two stepping in a circle, this is the place for you. Very crowded on a Saturday night. In the 5 hours we were here there was maybe two line dances. Drink prices are so so. Bartenders are super fast and friendly. It was very easy to reserve a table. The live band was really great, but incredibly loud. Ears are definitely ringing the next day.
Love the bar! It’s so fun!
Its okay live music is only 66 minutes long out of 6hrs there open compared to San Antonio. It should be longer with 3 different main vocals, DJ sucks!! We come for the live music. Your live music should be 4 set of 45min not 3 sets of 22. Bos barn plays live music everynight 4 sets of 40 minutes yall are a joke in three rivers.
This is an awesome place. The music is not so loud it hurts. The music selection is good too. They actually play new and old music. I have been going on Wednesday nights the live bands are awesome
Bartenders are GREAT!!! The band is very good but the dj plays way more dance & hip-hop music than country. Itd be nice if hed balance it out it. It can be over-crowded during spring break & days before holidays. Theres soooo many napkins thrown around & on the floor it looks like everyone has toilet paper stuck to the bottom of their boots so be prepared. Its definitely NOT like Cowboys Arlington was.
Got kicked out and the bouncers said i drank something when i didnt 😂
Some of the people working there are discriminatory. Certain people sitting at a table or near the dance floor were not asked to move out say they cant sit there but somehow I was told to move out get off wherever I was sitting. Cowboys red river was cool the first few times I was there but the staff changed and it sucks now.
I love the atmosphere but it is always overly warm in there unless you are right at a vent. It would be nice if there were ceiling fans or other air movement.
Honestly I use to love this place but the last couple times I’ve gone and attempted to get a drink it was impossible I was infront of the line waiting my turn and the bartenders literally just skipped me and got every other person but any Mexicans I feel that the bartenders are super racist and only take care of there kind and put u last if they have any spare time they could give to a paying customer, they must have a assumption thinking a Mexican won’t tip them but they’ll will not take care of you till the very last minute or end up saying they’re closing tabs so why would i even dare to tip them so they could be “nice “ to me if the whole time I’m there I feel like there’s hatred towards my kind of people and the worst part is if u ask them for a drink before they ever come up to you they’ll be extremely rude and keepIgnoring you till you leave … there should be a talk with the bar tenders or hire more people at the bar so they can attempt to “take care “ of paying customers ….And of course rr will not reply become it wasn’t a white person having a bad experience
Had a blast on new years eve! Sadly they stopped selling alcohol at 2 am which is very weird to me as German bars/clubs sell alcohol until they close around 5-6 am...Nonetheless good music and good looking barkeepers
Great place to see beautiful down to earth women in tight blue jeans. Great vibes!
The place has some racially based clothing restrictions such as no durags but you can otherwise wear hats.Brought some friends that just recently graduated college in Illinois and were visiting Texas over here and this interaction did not leave a good impression at all.Very disappointed. This is the first time I’ve encountered a policy like this.Additionally the dance lessons are very gendered which also was not great.I wish I had know about these things before visiting. It’s not a welcoming environment
If you like 2- stepping, youll enjoy this! The layout is perfect for dancing. Lots of bars distributed around, with drinks and great country music. Very communal, random people walk up to you to dance. Missing a star simply because Im neither a big night life fan nor a a big two stepping fan, but I always have a great time when I go here with friends! It could sometimes get really crowded so just be very aware of that.Great location right off Northwest Highway, great parking and its pretty affordable to get in.
First off, I like this place. The guys at the door are very friendly, and the bartenders are very nice and are reasonably quick, but sometimes you have to wave to get their attention. The reason why I gave it three stars is because its more of a club than a country and western bar, and Im not really much for clubs anymore. At midnight rap music comes on for an hour, and girls get up on the bars and go crazy. At that point I lose interest. But the country dancing is great because there are many people who frequent this place that dance very well, and are very friendly! If you are here and you see someone who dances well, compliment them and ask them how. They will be glad to teach you! Overall the place feels a little small for the amount of people it attracts, and the dance floor is an interesting racetrack design. This keeps people moving on the floor but it can get crowded quickly, especially on Friday and Saturday nights around 11. I definitely recommend this place for people who like country dancing and country music, but this place is more of a Dallas style country bar than a Fort Worth style country bar (if you know what I mean). Billy Bobs is more my style even though the dancing is not quite as good.
Loved the vibe!! People were chill too. Place could be neater if everyone just cleaned after themselves but besides that I love the place. Ive been on the mechanical bull lol so fun!! The music is mainly country and for a little while they play hip hop I had so much laughs and fun with the crowd I was with.
Great place to go to have a fun time and learn how to line dance!
Absolutely awesome. The club is very good lots and lots of dancers. Grest atmosphere great staff and crazy crazy with the napkins. Love it the Bands were great too. 6-23-23
Fun place to visit. Great music. Fantastic live band where 3 lead singers take turns singing. Free dance lessons. Large bar in the center of race track dance floor. Mechanical bull. Beautiful bar tenders.
I reserved tables for my coworkers birthdays at this Dancehall. Me & my coworkers felt like we were pushed to the side for all the college students that came. Then we get inside and asked about my reservation and was told to go by the bull area ok cool nope they act like they didnt know what I was talking about. Then instructed to find a bouncer they have the list ok cool right nope funds the bouncer tell him he leaves comes back says we dont have my reservation uuuummmm well check again comes back & they found the reservation wow right gets to the tables and theres people sitting there so you would think the bouncer wouldve ask them to move but nope I had too but says if they have a problem tell a bouncer WOW really. Tables didnt get cleaned off, drinks werent brought to our tables no set up didnt get to ride the bull or anything 😕 I gave 2stars only cause my coworkers were able to dance on the bar but we didnt stay at all
Very popular with the locals. Absolutely PACKED! Awesome circular dance floor. Smooth wood surface. Great drink specials and LIVE entertainment. Older crowd leaves by 9 PM. LADIES NIGHT is Thursday and it gets super crowded after 10:00 p.m. Well worth your time if you love dancing!*FYI, country etiquette does not exist at Cowboys Red River. It gets so freaking packed that the guys who are supposed to be the lead do not look to the left or to the right and they just toss their ladies or do Aerials or dips with zero concern of who is next to them or behind.*FYI the front door man who is always there looking at IDs and putting a wristband around your right wrist frequently does age discrimination. He does not check IDs for those that he says that he knows and yet if you look 25 years or more older he will still card you.Dangerous on the Dance Floor! Always look out for number one without stepping in number two! A quote by Rodney Dangerfield
Amazing place to dance and meet new and people!
Went with friends. Great atmosphere.
Super fun atmosphere. Some of the working females were pretty much naked so if thats your thing then have at it. Bull ride was super fun and they have non-alcoholic beers.
Honestly I’m not a country type of person at all!! I was here last night omfg!! I had the BEST EXPERIENCE, the people there are so fun! The bartender and staff in general are EXTREMELY SWEET, ugh I want to go back!! I had a great time! They don’t play just country they have a mix of music, I absolutely love that!! However they throw paper napkins ALOT!! 🤣🤣 Thank you everyone there, y’all are AMAZING!! I would upload photo but I only have videos 🤗 GREAT PLACE STRONGLY RECOMMEND! 10/10 you will have a blast!!
