RUDE RUDE RUDE! The chicken Suya I got was old and tasted like rotisserie chicken from Walmart that got recooked, ended up getting food poisoning.Called them to let them know, and this lady hung up right on me. Im at the ER because I started throwing up and feel so sick, stomach turning upside down. (Getting a note from my visit, and will be filling a complaint with the DSHS, as anyone should)Be careful of what you get on here, its not that sanitary and the meat is probably stored for the next day.Place seems so dark with no good lighting.
I pick up food for a friend of mine regularly here. The atmosphere(especially on weekends) is festive. The food centers around African delicacies and is absolutely delicious! I’m here about twice a week and the staff have come to know me and have been friendly and helpful since day one. Inside there are several different areas to be, and each one has its own mood. The place is packed on the weekends so it’s clear they’re doing things right.
I went on a Saturday night. It was a nice crowd, not too crowded. We were able to get a table quickly ordered drinks called back that a** up ( it was not good) it was supposed to had been a margarita with some added liquor! It was like a water ice with liquor on top! Too too sweet. We also ordered a straight shot of cognac and a beer. For dinner I ordered a whole tilapia fish the options were fried or grilled, I ordered mines fried. It came with vegetables( some type of greens) they were good! Seasoned very well. The fish was pretty good it was a little salty but that may have been the sauce they put on the fish, it came with plantain. Ordered a side of Jollof rice (Al La cart). We also ordered fish pepper soup (very spicy) but good! This place was decent had a live DJ pool tables ping pong table a dance floor etc. I would return, maybe not for food but I hang out.
I recently had the pleasure of picking up some delicious Poundo yam and Edika Ikong from Murphy Mansion, and it was an unforgettable experience. The combination of delicious Nigerian cuisine, top-notch event facilities, and live entertainment options makes Murphys Mansion a go-to destination for anyone seeking a memorable experience. I cant recommend it enough, and I look forward to returning for more exceptional moments.
Ate here 2 weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon. Took a while for someone to acknowledge me and give me a menu which was old and worn out. My 1st 2 choices of oxtail or roti were not available. The waitress was very kind and sat down and explained a new cook had taken over and was still getting up to speed. I opted for the curry goat but was informed they ran out of rice and peas so I had to have plain white rice as one side and chose collards as the other. (I like rice to soak up the gravy) When my plate arrived I was disappointed to see there really wasnt any gravy, just a few pieces of boneless goat with fat on them, a couple of potatoes, and one sliver of carrot. One of the pieces of meet was hard and dried out like it had been stuck to the bottom of the pot. I found the collards salty but ok. The taste of the goat was also ok but nothing special. My meal was served with plastic utensils and a small plastic cup of water. For 25.99 I was definitely expecting more. They also charge a credit card fee.
It has a nice vibe, I just wish they could put the price next to the drinks on their menu. I think the quantity of food for the price is ok but could do better. Nice service overall and atmosphere.
I love going to Murphy’s, love the music & the vibe. I really enjoy the new club area BUT it would be nice to get the same music or better music for the restaurant & pool area, it’s almost neglected. The SUYA is great! There should be better choices for late night ie. regular appetizers like wings, mozzarella sticks, meat pies, something easy. Lastly, many of the waitstaff are pretty friendly but a few are mean, very pushy & almost harass you to force you to buy something. Everyone that come to listen to music and just step out a minute don’t drink or is hungry. Thanks!
Im going tomorrow! Dont know just yet🗣*Update8-12-23.. nice music, & environment but I must speak truth! I cooks goat also& this was totally not a bang for my buck@all! I was atrociously disappointed 😞 due to the goat was tough as a vogue tire honestly i only ate like 4 small pieces as they all wer for $30!! They put the🔫 to yo head wen you order food, no sides, rice, nothing only goat, plenty of fat, bell peppers, & onions really hard& raw veggies, not sautéed periodt just threw sauce on them. The basket its in, they are so cheap that they cover it with foil to lift the food & make it LOOK full, NO PLATE! so tell me how can u use 🍴!?.. if u poke it, it falls through in the basket.🤷🏽♀️no dumplin, NO 🍚, nothing with..u have to order all separately!!😬then they only had beef & 🐐 the young lady told me like really. They really need to issue refunds, this was so lousy! The 3 folk sat across from us didnt eat their food nyther. My friend girl told me to try MURPHYS& I did!. No great experience on food which I heard was🤌🏽... but i must be honest👎🏽👎🏽. I only tasted hot,no food! flavor wasnt good@all like i said it was wayy too tough to chew.. confirmation in the pics. My plantains was 👍🏼 by the way michelob wasnt 🥶.. only cool. Waste of$ for the night here, only vibes. Sorry TBT.
Location has a lot of potential for a large crowd; be sure you include a dance floor. And the drink service was a complete bust. After 30 minutes, the bartender informed me that she was out of cups. I waited some more, but nothing happened.
The jollof was really good, the MacNcheese was mediocre, plantains were good and the cabbage was okay just a bit too oily and kind of bland. Now the server was pushy, a bit rude and there were roaches crawling in many places. Ive been here before and it was okay I like the place but a few things can definitely be improved especially the roaches crawling on the dinner napkins. Pest control is a must. Okay food, good music, a bit over priced but overall a nice environment. The place also adds automatic gratuity which is quite unusual speaking that, thats typically only applied for parties of 6 or more at your average restaurant. Majority of the sides on the menu dont include prices which I feel a bit scammed seems as if I was overcharged but no worries I support small local businesses. Drinks were strong!! Not bad on the alcoholic beverages I like, good stuff.
I typically come here and get ignored, but this time was different. Melody took care of my daughter and I Sunday night! She was very attentive to us and made our experience much better. I will be looking for her now every single time I come! Plus the Jollof rice and plantains were on point! Melody thank you!
Security is top notch. The waiters and waitresses are great. I usually order SUYA, it’s delicious. Management is superb. Keep up the amazing job.
Don’t come here expecting chick fil a level service, because you’ll be disappointed. however, come here for the ambiance and the food! i got the curry shrimp with steamed rice and mac and cheese. the only thing i didn’t like was the mac. my mom got egusi with goat meat. *chefs kiss* it was amazing. also if you order a drink and want it to be top shelf, say that!! when my mom first ordered her long island iced tea, it was very watered down. that caused small wahala, the bartender ended up coming to speak to use saying he added two extra shots and she was like “but is it top shelf? that’s what i wanted” lol the server didn’t know to ask that… so you have to specify. anyways, if you come after 8pm, be ready to party because this place is also a club! if it wasn’t for the food, i wouldn’t have given this place 4 stars. that egusi was so good. they have american, caribbean, and african items on their menu.
I ordered food from here and it was horrible! The meat was like wood. I came back to return the food after Lillian checked the food and seen the meat she replaced my beef for goat meat. I will not be ordering food from here ever again and it was expensive the service stinks worse than the food… I don’t recommend ordering food from this establishment. Thank you…..
This place was nice, but the service was absolutely terrible. We ordered a drink that was about $14 each for less than half the glass. We asked the waitress if that was it, and she laughed and said yes. I hate I didnt take a picture. It was terrible. The restroom also didnt have paper towels or a working blower to dry your hands. This is a huge red flag at an establishment that sells food and drinks.
Went here on Saturday evening with a friend who lives in Dallas. His idea when I suggested I wanted African food. The waiter was torrid. She absolutely seemed unbothered with proper customer service. I will spare you the details. As we were leaving, I thought, instead of giving them a bad review online, let me bring it to the Manager on dutys notice. Maybe she shouldnt be waiting tables because of what we had just experienced. I was pleasantly surprised when the manager immediately addressed the situation. She engaged me in the conversation and apologized, got details and summoned her mom (owner/CEO) who assured us she would fix the situation and even offering to give us drinks. I turned it down because my aim was to get the girl retrained. It was nice to see that they were taking my complaint seriously. I will return when I visit Dallas bc the Asun they served me was unbelievably good. Next time though, I hope a different person waits my table. :)
I HAD TO GIVE A STAR just toDo my review and they don’t even deserve that ,I ordered over the phone the person spoke English and made sure to let me know how much it was but when I ordered BOILED YAM WITH STEW AND MIXED MEATS Which was on the menu but This is what I got , thankfully I looked at it before I left , And they refuse to give me my money back . Would definitely not recommend .
I had the Isi-Ewu here on the recommendation of a coworker. The waitress and bartender were nice but the meal took about 3 times longer than I was told so I was there much longer than I had planned. As for the Isi-Ewu itself, I lack any previous reference but it had a pleasant and pungent smell. Given that its mostly goat head, there wasnt a whole lot of meat but what was edible was delectable. The menu online is also outdated as the prices there are significantly higher. I also found the price for one serving of Isi-ewu far higher than necessary.
Took an hr to get my food, when the waitress finally brought my okra soup, there was no pounded yam. she then went to get the pounded yam, taking another 15 minutes. I was hungry. It took the grace of God to not give attitude and walk out. Food will get a rating of 2.5 out of 5.Customer service ZERO STAR
I ordered jollof, plantains and greens. Everything was old and you could tell it was reheated. I got the worst stomach ache from the greens. They used too much oil and there was no season. The lady in the kitchen was very sweet. She called me after the food was ready to pick up and met me at the door with the best attitude!
The only reason I’m giving it a 4 is because the customer service that my friend got was extraordinary. I am Nigerian and went to lunch with a Kenyan friend. He had Kenyan food (Ugali) and even the Kenyan chef came out 3ce to make sure he was doing ok, she and the other Kenyan Waitress made him feel at home. If you are from Kenya, this is a great place to eat. If you are Nigerian, expect the usual ‘we don’t care’ attitude. And if you are Yoruba, don’t bother eating the Eguisi soup cooked by the ibo chef, it doesn’t taste great.
The staffers will double your price more than what’s on the menu. They will also forcefully charge you tips calls it gratuity.I will advise you ask questions before ordering. We and our entire crew usually give tips because we appreciate the good work waitress and bartenders do but to forcefully charge my card when you didn’t have permissions or switch the price of food without any explanation is unacceptable. This restaurant is not recommended at this point. This review here is based on several experiences and from friends and family who has experienced the same situation.I hope management will fix it reputation soon.
I dont know how this is a club in this age and time. Went on a Saturday and they were so unorganized. Took over 45 mins to get drinks on my table of about 14 people. Food came over another 45 mins and the last sets of drinks came over another 30mins. We had to share from each others food while we wait for the remaining food. Drinks are supposed to flow fast in a club not at snail pace. The suya was as cold as a dogs nose and the grilled fish was marinated in maggi sauce. Who marinates fish in maggi sauce? I give the 1 star for the nkwobi which was nice. Need more staff or training on how to be fast with service. Wont be coming here again. The music combination was horrible on the left side of the hall. DJ must have been high on something.
Have menu items that most times we dont have it. How do you not have hot ticket menu items on a Saturday night? Your most money-generating night? Service is poor. Took almost 30mins from when we got seated to when waiter came to take our orders. Same sluggish service. Took another 30mins after we finished to get our bill.Plus youre automatically charged 20% gratuity *for orders >$40!!! REALLY? That just about every customer!, cos theres NO WAY you wont spend up to $40 there!IF youre going to charge automatic gratuity, THEN have your menu items available!!!Music was just there. Nothing to jive to. Came to dance but music wasnt even danceable so we sat, ate (not our desired option) and left. Just bare background music.Poor waiter service!
Building is nothing like the pics. Our group of 13 was seated at 6:42pm. There were only 3 other small tables with people. We waited 20 min for drink orders, over an hour for drinks, over 2 hours for average food, waitress rolled her eyes at 2 people when asked why over half the menu was not available. After eating and paying we left at 10:52pm. The security guard heard us complaining as we were leaving and asked us to wait for the manager. When speaking with the rude and arrogant manager he asked Have you ever been to a restaurant? This was asked to justify that as he stated he was busy with the other 50 people. Never again!
Club,Best of food,especially the grill beaf(suya) is superb 👌
Ok came back because boyfriend really wanted to try this place. I ordered the egusi with chicken and eba and moin moin and he got the jollof with beef and plantains. We both enjoyed my meal but the jollof rice was not cooked/seasoned well. Place was lively on a Friday evening. The waitress was really nice.
The food is great usually, but their customer service is terrible. I ordered a drink while waiting on my to-go order that I never got. I finally just asked for my ticket, paid for my food and left. I had ordered curry chicken, but it didnt look fresh like it usually does.Ive been to this place for years and the food is usually great, so Im not counting my most recent visit against them, but the service is sub par. I do notice that the service is a little better when a game is on.
This place was horrible took an hour for drinks and 2 hours for food have the food per the waitress was not available due to takes to long to cook wth!! So we ordered wings and still took 2 hours. When we got our checks some of us were charged for things we did not order if you asked questions the waitress rolled her eyes. Was a horrible experience will not go back if I could give 0 stars I would I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE
OK, so I went last night around 9, I received a menu to look over for my order. After about 30 min waiting on a cup of water! I was ready to order. Now, the next issue was there was NOTHING ON THE MENU AVAILABLE!!! Everything I asked for was not available, I was dumbfounded, why would you offer me a menu to look over and there is nothing on there thats available. Second, the dance floor was in the middle of the tables, so there really isnt a dance floor. Next, the restrooms were nasty, had no paper towels, and the locks were broken on the stalls. Lastly I ordered one drink, it arrived in a very, very small plastic cup. (Tea cup size) When the bill came, it was $15.00. So all in all this is not a good night out place.
AVOID AT ALL COST!!!Service here by the security guards is appalling. Came here to hang out after a long day at the office only to be rudely told I wont be entering because I was wearing a sleeveless shirt. One of the guards even had the audacity to address me as an Uber eats delivery driver. For how hot is is during the summer, am I supposed to be wearing a winter jacket?Absolutely disgusting. The only saving grace is that their servers are actually very effective. Asides that, everything else about this place is absolute trash.I will never be returning here again and would be sure to encourage everyone I know to avoid this place.
We enjoyed the goat meat garnished with vegetables, it was spicy but good. Only draw back is that Murphys did not sign up with Doordash or other delivery services to reach their customers who may not want to be on crazy Dallas roads.
The menu/prices online doesn’t reflect the prices in the restaurant. There’s no happy hour when clearly on their website it says happy hour everyday from 5-8…. That was the whole point of us getting drinks after work on a Friday 🙄 Almost everything we asked for pork chops, ox tails, hookah etc wasn’t available! It was very hot at the beginning we had to ask multiple times for them to turn on the air and fans. Our group as a whole first time experience was not good at all. Our waitress Ms. Yolanda was great! She was fast and made sure we had our drinks and food at a decent timely matter. That was the only good part about the experience. Oh and the rum punch was good.
It is a good atmosphere, but to encourage people the way the cashier treats in the main entrance is not good enough; other thing is the music speaker has to be able set up like the way it not disturbingYonaszbarber
This is another place my lady and I drive far and wide to consume some of their flavorful food. SUYA to be exact. Nigerian bar-b-q! This stuff isnt for the weak mouths lol. Meaning its super spicy!! I love it and my pregnant wife loves it. You dont have to be a manner of their country to enjoy the dye-licious food 😋. If you are ever by here between 6pm and 2am, stop by and get you some grubbing SUYA. You taste buds will thank you for sure.
Walked on and sat down. Bar tender ignored me. 5 people total in the place. I left.
The 1 star is just to write a review . The staff here needs to learn ethics how to treat a customer. We approved the host to request a table and it was not the same with other customers. The waitress just ignored when we tried to ask her about the food and she just dint care to answer . This place doesn’t ever offer water if your dining in . I guess that’s the common decency at a restaurant to offer water .The prices are rip off and the food was smelling too bad . Oh yeah they charge 3$ for using your credit card and they add the tip with out your concern .
Packaged my stew chicken with my jollof rice soup oil was all over my bag an no soup was on my chicken was very dry maybe they should check package the soup separate from the rice
Its a chill place. First time going. American food, Jamaican food and African food are served. Tried the sautéed spinach with goat meat and a side of plantain. Ordered medium size and it was plenty and good. Spicy. Presentation of the food was appetizing. Friday & Saturday theres a cover charge of $10.00 per person. The music is African and it can be loud on the inside. Sat on the patio and it was just right. Theres security and I felt safe. The restaurant is clean and the staff courteous. Theres an attire policy. Basically come decent. It can be casual 😎 but decent.
A nice African club that has great food and a diverse mix of staff and customers. Everyone is welcome here. The customer service could be better but overall they seem to be understaffed. The music and dancing is great, and there are several sections to enjoy your night out!
This was a very nice place to enjoy African food. The music was a little loud making it difficult to have to talk but overall a great place to visit.
I’ve come to this place many times and usually the food takes almost an hour to get ready. I decided that today, I wanted to go out with my friend and we came to this restaurant. I ordered jollof rice and my friend ordered fish pepper soup. I didn’t really like my food but I ate a little. My friends food came and he did not like his either. He decided not to eat it after 2 bites. He told the waitress and when she returned it to the kitchen, a lady came out and asked us why we returned the fish. We told her we didn’t like how it tasted unseasoned and it tasted raw still. She got upset started yelling at us to not waste food. She said if we never ordered before we should have tasted it first before we ordered it. I was so dumbfounded and felt extremely disrespected. We explained to her that, we did not like the fish and we have every right to not eat something we don’t like. Then a few moments later a man came out and started yelling at us also. Telling us we had no right to waste food, he mentioned how all around the world right now food is expensive.I mean, the horrible customer service and the blatant disrespect was appalling! I WILL NEVER COME BACK HERE! I will very much report them to the BBB! This is America and people have a right to not eat food they DO NOT FEEL SAFE TO EAT! The fish was raw and my friend decided not to eat it. He’s not a kid! He shouldn’t be scolded at a restaurant for choosing not to eat it. If they had a policy of “once you touch it, you must pay for it” then they could have simply made it clear upfront. Embarrassing and disrespecting us was horrible a way to treat someone who decided to spend their hard earned money at your establishment! Guess what, we ended up paying for the food.I advise you to stay away from this place! It’s horrible, the food, the service is disgusting!
The prices on the online menu WILDLY differ from actual prices..a to go bill that was supposed to be$40 ended up being $71.Also they automatically add tips onto your bill hoping you dont notice. What a rip off. There are better African/ Caribbean restaurants in the vicinity
It was ok, food was not good,I had the curry chicken absolutely no flavor only thing that had flavor was the coconut rice and plantain s. Music was so loud, but the service was good very attentive
Lively with good music with clients who aren’t shy to get down and shake some bootey. There’s a sheriff (cop) stationed in-house so security is guaranteed and what’s more? They have “suya” bbq’d peppery beef on the grill on the patio outside.Did I mention they have lots of local delicacies as well as continental foods and there’s quite several options for beers (imports and local) which means you’re covered. It’s Dallas’s hotspot. That’s Nkwobi, a Nigerian exotic dish in the photo.
Atmosphere was perfect. The DJ was on point with the songs. We went to a couple of bars tonight and this one was my favorite. Everyone was pleasant.
This was my first time checking this place out. Music, and atmosphere was good. Drinks were trash. 2 or three people in my party ordered a tequila sunrise, and it was gross. Someone asked for more orange juice to try to make it taste better, but come to find out the juice was old. We asked to swap the drinks out, and they said there was only one swap out per table. I wasn’t buying that. You serving drinks with old juice you are going to swap all of them out. The waitress said she had to ask her manager in which she did, and they swapped them out. We were going to order food, but bc of the bad drinks we decided to pass.
Nice place to handout, but the waitress always expecting huge tip from customers and when you dont tip or give you something below their expectations, they give you attitude. The management needs to do a better job to check the waitresses and probably retrain them. Thier attitude towards customers regarding tip is obnoxious.
HORRIBLE SERVICE!!!!Table of 4, we paid for a drink tab then ordered dinner. One of the parties ordered a meal and food to go. They brought out 3 out of 4 meals along with the to go meal. The waitress never came back to check on us. We had to ask the manager for the status of the 4th meal. Even then, it still didn’t come out until after everyone else was done eating. We tried to speak with the manger and he didn’t care. Take your money elsewhere. The food is extremely salty and so are the waitresses!!!
If I could give this place a zero star I would, called to order a goat platter drove 35mins to go pick up my food and upon arrival waited 20mins before anyone could attend I had to call their phone while standing by the bar to get someone’s attentionShe finally told me oh they are out of goat meat, none of them had the common sense to call me to let me know , she told me to wait and never came back. I had to walk out of the restaurant so I don’t get upset I usually don’t do African spots! This is why- zero customer service and mostly zero common sense
If the suya is fresh, it is great! Their traditional Nigerian foods are great as well. Wings are yummy! mixed drinks aren’t good. Customer service is usually a 1/5, they come to you like every 30 mins & it’s usually packed on the weekends so it’s hard to find your server yourself. But I did have a great experience once with a bartender when I ordered to-go, she was nice and attentive. The vibe is fun to go with a group of friends or your significant other to catch a chill but fun vibe!
I won’t be coming back here. The food I was served was so stale I couldn’t eat it and had to return it. The jollof rice my friend ordered was tasteless as well. This place is not a good place to eat Nigerian food.
I would not recommend ANYONE to this place. My first time here was with some friends to enjoy ourselves and although the place was filled with nice energy we had to ask more than several times to clean the table. We was greeted by a young lady with an attitude and We ordered drinks and had to reorder 3 times. I wanted to order food but was afraid it would take hours to get served. We had a good time and although I would love to give a good review, I can’t due to the customer service.
The Atmosphere was great. The Dj was awesome 👍😎. Now the waitress smelled of fresh cut onions.
The service there was very poor and unfriendly. Was told my order would take 20mins to be ready. After waiting for more than 50mins the food I ordered wasnt what I got. And I was served with a plastic cup for my stout and plastic utensils for the food. They clearly do not value the patronage of their customers.
1st- the waitress with light skinned and the 2 pippy long stocking braids on her head was completely rude. She literally would go sit at the bar and not service us or see if we needed anything. The other waitresses even told her to go to our table to check on us. She was rude and has a horrible attitude. She rolled her eyes at my husband and walked off when she did come to the table. When we boxed our food up, she went at sat back at the bar for over 15 mins and never moved or brought us the check. My husband finally got fed up and had to leave the table and tell her to bring us our ticket. The entire time she sat at the bar we were looking at her waiting for her to come.2- The food was great, but my husband did end up with food poisoning that same night. We went Saturday on 4/30/22 and today is Thursday 5/5/22 and he’s still sick.We will never go back there and will not recommend that anyone else goes. Customer Service is important and the fact that the waitress was as bad as she was and he ended up sick just puts an overall horrible taste in your mouth about the business ethics.I hope he didn’t leave her a Financial tip because she definitely didn’t deserve it. She needed a Scripture or two to turn from her wicked ways and repent.
Food is definitely overpriced and on top of that, came out cold, some of it was box food! The service is the worst part! The waitresses looked and acted like they were forced to be there. We had to keep going to the bar to get our own drinks. She never came to check if we needed anything! It felt like she was rushing us to order. It’s sad because The place has potential, just need better management I guess!!
I was here 7 months ago and gave a great review based on the quality service I received. Today I ordered take out. It was the most horrific experience I have ever encountered. I waited for an hour for my food. An hour later I was told they ran out of one of the items I ordered. I asked for a refund and the manager Steady was rude and nonchalant about it. The refund took an additional 20 plus minutes to be processed. I DO NOT recommend this place. Poor customer service, a waste of peoples time and a dont care attitude. I will never come back here for anything!
Its so much fun here. The food is absolutely delicious and the DJ is really good too. The manager is quite nice and very considerate. Hed listen to you if you need assistance with anything. Definitely visiting again for the food, music and atmosphere.
I’ve been a regular here since I moved to Dallas but today was the last straw. Won’t be returning. Not only is the service trash but the majority of the waitresses are full of attitude and have no people skills at all. After ordering a drink, I ordered food to go and the girl brought it out cold. I asked for ranch and s check and literally had to chase her down for it because she legit continued to ignore me. Very disappointing! I really used to love this spot and I brought so many friends here. Oh well. Time for better
I enjoyed myself, its pretty lively on fridays. But I have to say this because it can be an issue with future customers. its always important to acknowledge a customer even if you cant get to them right away when you are busy with another customer which is understandable. A friend and I was not acknowledge at the bar for nearly 15 minutes to buy our drinks, no eye contact at all as if we were being avoided. I figured there were new employees working the bar, but the veterans shouldve led by example and show the newbies how its done. Hopefully this helps. My next visit I hope my time and money spent will be well worth it.
Payed $17 for some cold food. Placed a to go order jerk chicken plate with rice peas and cabbage at approximately 7:56pm was told it would take 20-25minutes I arrived at the location at 8:15pm to pay ahead when I walked in it was a 10-12 servers yet not one person asked if I needed assistance when I finally talked to someone they went to the back to check on my order told me 7 more minutes. The sever came back out and handed me the plate it had no heat to it what so ever or steam coming out as FRESH prepared food would! I told them it was cold and they responded that they cooked it soon as I called instead of just recooking a new plate they’d rather argue with you…Will not be ordering from here again!
My first time there. Its cool, good DJ, pool tables for those who like playing pool/table tennis/darts. However the drinks and food are just ok. I ordered fish and it was over fried to the point there was barely meat left. So disappointing because that was my 1st time having Nigerian food. The flavor was good just over cooked. Also they didnt have lime juice for tequila then when I switched drinks and ordered a long island, it didnt taste like a long island. Ill try this place again because the staff is really nice.
Beware of 419 , always pay attention to your bills, the servers charge extra money in each transaction, this is second time they charged me what I didn’t order, and took some extra money for gratuity without my consent. The first time was last weekend I thought it was mistake , but today I really paid attention to the transaction and catch Nancy! Remember this (Not everyone is drunk 😀).The girl with dark skin and medium height, is the only person I trust she always give the honest service and she never charged anything extra.
I ordered to-go, but my brief experience was amazing, especially for a restaurant that serves Nigerian cuisine.Ambience:I visited in the evening not late at night, so it seemed pretty chill, not congested, everyone seemed to be having a good relaxed time, music was not too loud.Service:The person who took my ordered smiled and was helpful throughout, made me a good drink, the food came out faster than expected, and they thanked me for being patient, all while smiling. If youre a person who frequents restaurants especially Nigerian restaurants, youll appreciate this form of service.Food quality:I ordered some goat pepper soup and nkwobi. While it wasnt the best Ive ever had, it wasnt bad for the price point, volume, and comprehensive service. I was not disappointed at all in the food quality. In all I am satisfied and will be visiting to try more from the menu.
Customer service is absolute trash here. And that is EVERYTIME i come. Stood for almost an hour at the bar waiting to be attended to for drinks. The bartenders will literally ignore you. The one time i ordered food, it took forever to come out and it was cold. Im not sure what is going on here. Other than that, the vibe is okay and chill. Just dont expect good or any customer service. I have met the owner of the place and he is very nice as well.
The food wasnt the best, had rice with stew, plantains and beef. The beef was good though, liked the crispy outside. The bathroom stalls had no toilet paper and this was not rush hour 3 or 4 in the afternoon, there were only 4 couples in there.
Worst place ever! Called my order in 25 mins b4 I left mY house. Was told food would be ready in 20 minutes only to get there its nit ready. White girl says sorry would I like a drink while I wait only to charge me. At this point 30 minutes pass by still no food, I get mad only for get to hv my order wrong then try to charge me again for her mishap. BY THIS TIME SOME BLACK girl who bring her child to work circling around me like she wanna fight cus Im telling them about my order Wont be back
It was peaceful and the food came pretty fast and fresh. Nice variety menu catering to Africans and Americans. Nice mix of music. Not sure how It is when busy but my husband and I got plenty of attention.
Tried this place after a few Nigerian friends recommended it. We ordered Jelloff Rice and it wasnt that good. I was hoping being one of the traditional dishes, that will be good but I wasnt amused with it. It was bland and didnt feel fresh. Havent tried other dishes. Will surely give this restaurant a visit again in a couple of months.
THEY STEAL, THEY ARE THIEVES; IF YOU HAVE NO OTHER PLACE TO GO AND FIND YOURSELF THERE PLEASE PAY ONE ITEM AT A TIME IN CASH - not card. The environment is good, clean and inviting but all that becomes irrelevant at the end when they hand you the bill. be cautious!
Nice environment, good food, and clean. I liked that they had someone constantly cleaning and wiping down tables. They would ask if you want your table wipe even it your sitting there. With the coronavirus thats a plus for me.
Please do not come here. Especially if you are a female. You will not be attended to in a professional manner, I’ve experienced poor customer service 3 times now, I keep saying to myself that maybe it was just that one experience, but it keeps happening. First thing’s first. Majority of the waiters do not have name tags. I waited 1 hour before I was attended to. My waiter would constantly attend and check on gentlemen and forget about me and my friends, this has happened on all 3 occasions. One time I waited an 1hr 30 min before my peppe soup came out… today I waited 45 minutes, for oxtail which was cold. I asked a server who was texting in a corner if she can call her manager for me, since my waitress was nowhere to be found. She gave me attitude and told me to find my waiter. At the end of the night, It took forever to receive my bill, as well as the payment process. I do not recommend this restaurant to anybody!!!
Dont use your Debit Or Credit Card here. They Scammed me. I will never use my card here again. They over charged my card thinking I wouldnt see it. I went there for them to fix the issue, the manager kept running away out of guilty conscience. So I went ahead to issue refund with my credit card company. The server who did this was NANCY. Busted. They also charged me $50 for 2 suya, but I told the server I want $20. Also never give your receipts to them. They decided in my favor by my credit card company.
My server was Lilian. She is Sooooo sweet. The Food was amazing. I came back twice, same weekend. Music is goooooood. The Staff was very attentive. They looked like they came to work and cared about who they where there for. I really like the place. It is a great hang out spot, good native food and chill to music( variety). If I have more time, I will come to take advantage of the night.Thank you Lilian 😊 💓Definitely not like Aso rock ( terrible service/staff. ).
TOTAL WASTE OF YOUR MONEY!!!!!!1. This so call establishment excels in the fraudulent labeling of prices of their meals/foods with respect to their menu. They go the extra length to tell you each time you call to place an order that the prices have gone up! However, the prices labelled online have not moved or changed. Each server, therefore dishes you a different price hike all in a bit to square away cash into their pockets.2. The so call servers there are a total disgrace! No sense of customer service and no sense of hospitality when it comes to taking your order and making sure the order in prepared accordingly! No regards on the parts of the server to exercise the basic notion of working or serving!3. When it comes to the food, I would rather say they SPECIALIZE in the ART of SELLING PEPPER rather than the meal/food you order! Pepper is the ingredient of the day, every day and all the time.
Went for Reggae night but no reggae music was played, only afrobeats. Didnt try the food but the menu was extensive. Liked that there were tables available and pool tables.
Waitress INSISTED on taking the order for our table for 4 people without writing anything down,.. We asked her to PLEASE write our orders down,.. she was adamant about how experienced she was and how “she got this”,… but of course the food came and it was 4 orders for 4 OTHER people,…. Not Us,… the music started playing,.. we paid anyway, and walked out,….. good place to dance, but you should probably eat before you come,..
This place is horrible. The food is good but I believe they are robbing people over there. They told me the prices on the menu was not correct so they give you prices of the food verbally. What business does that? This is a complete money scam. Be careful out here. I told the manager that I will not go back again. Fix the business
The food here isnt bad. Not very consistent but its good food. Just get ready to wait for the food to arrive. You can place your order and probably drive to the airport and come back and it still wont be ready. Again there isnt much consistency across the board regarding the quality of the food and the service you receive but there are some foods they make really well. Worth a try for sure! They also have cuisines from different regions of Africa so East, West and I believe North. Not my favorite African food restaurant but if Im close by and craving some motherland food, Ill stop by!
Spicy food and dance floor doesn’t go along ! Keep ur resturant completely partitioned from dance floor !! Decent hookah and drink go with club not spicy steamy food ! Late night bites are good at a different room though !!
Amazing atmosphere, food was good but the west African vibe was excellent! Music was a little hip hop with aftican r and b and there was relaxed night club feel to it. If you are looking for a busy place to get some night life culture or are from Africa and want to feel at home THIS IS YOUR SPOT
I give this restaurant 6 months. They should rename it Murphy’s Dingy, Ratchet Mansion because that is exactly the type of service I experienced here. First of all, the waitresses are EXTREMELY rude and they are THIEVES. They overcharge your bill with strange orders and they claim that they can’t pay you back (which they can, and they did after arguing for several minutes). The reason they are doing this is because they are losing money and have resorted to stealing from customers. The food was bland, disgusting and cold. The restaurant is musty and there are flies everywhere. The waitress also forgot our orders and it took an ungodly amount of time for the food and refills of water to arrive. We had to remind the waitresses 5+ times before they refilled our water cups and she rolled her eyes and dumped a water pitcher on our table. This is the WORST service I have ever received in ANY restaurant. If you don’t want to be subjected to rude waitresses who overcharge and serve you gross food, save your money and go to another restaurant.
Went there about 3 years ago, loved it; reminded me of back home(Nigeria).Went again recently, food came one hour after ordering, was hoping to hear some Nigerian/ African music, but nope; they were playing American music. Dont have to go there to hear that. I can go to any bar or lounge to hear that.
Loved the music, very spacious, energy was good. I didnt try the food but it looked great and smelled wonderful. Definitely trying food next visit. Drinks were very reasonably priced and will return
Ive been here 2 times now. First time on a Friday night and second time on a Saturday night. Both times I had a great time. It was not crowded at all but may just appear that was because its so spacious. The staff was wonderful. Food is delicious. DJs awesome. Great place to bring friends and hangout. If you are wanting to try something new this is it.
Murphys Mansion is a good place to go to when you want a nice vibe, good music, good drinks. The food is mixed so depending on what you want it may not be to your expectations. We ordered the Okra Soup, Jollof Rice, Plantains and Egusi. It was a bit bland including the rice, it’s not bad it’s just not what you maybe used to. Great service and good music! The Suya is good.
I must say their Food was great. But the service. Lord the service is the worse. I went their with no expectations of good service but they outdid themselves of even more terrible service than none. My friends and I got there, no waitress came to our table to take drink orders. It was early and waitresses were just standing around. What we did notice is they were attending to the male customers alot more than female customers. They were really working for those tips. One of my friends asked for water, the waitress brought one glass of water. There were 4 of us sitting at the table. Smh.We made sure and ordered fast because it was 2 for $20 before 8pm. We didnt get food til 8:45. And finally got drinks also. They had an event there that night that started at 10 and the flyer stated rum punch for ladies all night. I asked the waitress about the special she took my phone with the flyer on the screen and asked multiple waitresses and bartenders. She came back and said they were out since the night before. We got there early to get the food special and take advantage of the all night run punch. At 9:00 She came back while we were eating to tell me that they have rum punch and I can have some if I wanted it.When it was time to pay at 10 we couldnt find our waitress, we had to flag somebody down to go get her. She came over to tell me that the rum punch special started at 10om and that it would be regular price. Mind you I ordered 3 of them. I told her thats not what the flyer said and she didnt tell me that after she took my phone and asked multiple people. She brought her manager then she lied and said she didnt know anything about the flyer. Really???? At this point I was done and just sat there cause I had nothing to say. I told them Im not paying regular price. So he said he was going to talk to the owner and see what he could do. 1.5 hours later he finally came back with the check. Needless to say I did not tip anyone and I wont be back. We didnt even stay for the event. I love my island people to death but customer service is their detriment. I wish them luck with that.
Great food fun atmosphere my first time visiting I will come back.Visited Murphy Mansion yesterday 7-22-23 .I ordered the Jerk chicken and jolia rice .. Well the chicken tasted OLD and REHEATED the DJ was lit at first then he became dry with the music 🎶. I dont know what happened to this place it used to be lit and the food was on point.
I came here with a friend because of the diverse menu but was utterly disappointed! Poor seveice! I ordered red snapper and they gave me tilapia! Totally different taste to the person that is knowledgeable about seafood! And the cost is also alot more for a snapper.Be aware that the prices on the menu could be e alot more once you get your bill. They add gratuity so no option to decide how much you pay them for piss poor service! My first and last time coming here, wouldnt recommend this restaurant at all!!.
Extremely poor service. We came on a Sunday evening. The whole place was crowded with people makingso much noise. We found an empty table and sat ourselves. The table has not be cleaned after the last customers. We waited for 50 minutes while trying to get attention of the attendants. No one was paying us anymind. There were not enough people working and it was just horrible.
This place needs to be shut down. The waitresses had a horrible attitude the whole time we were here. We had to KEEP ASKING her to bring waters and missing food. One of them rolled her eyes when we asked like sis this is your job... We Then got over charged for our meals and my boyfriend (who paid for the meal) was upset about it and had to go off on the idiot waitress. The waitress had the audacity to yell at my boyfriend and call him out his name. I had to contain myself because I almost knocked her the hell out.The manager was an idiot as well and was not helping the situation but only making it worse. This place is very unprofessional and a wast of space. The food is not terrible but the people they hire should be a lot more classier. DO NOT EAT HERE!
Dont come to this establishment! This was my FIRST and LAST time going here. Our first waitress was rude, and we ended up switching tables because we had more people in our party. The second waitress was nice, but we had to wait a ridiculously long time for our food to come. We were sitting in heat with no AC for a while before they finally turned it on. The food is overpriced. Im never stepping foot here again. It was so disappointing on what was supposed to be a fun night with friends. Our night was ruined!
Drink was good, music is ok. The only thing I didnt like is when you leave the premises, anytime you will have to pay again. Come on, we are in pandemic, I came to support, why charge people like that? And the person at the door is really rude.
Nice place to eat some Nigerian delicacies with a touch of class. The waitresses are quite attractive but still need to be more professionally trained my the management. Lighting in the restaurant area isnt all that and could be better.
I called and placed my order 40 mins before I arrived. When I got there I had to wait 30 additional minutes to receive my food. Mary the waitress who took my order was accommodating and apologized for the delay. However that was good enough for me. It shouldn’t take 1 hour and 20 minutes to make food.At no point did the manager come out to apologize for the wait.
Wow - my first time at a Nigerian restaurant and it blew me away! The flavor and taste of the food was just marvelous. I tried the charred chicken and the goat pepper soup and they were both great! Also, the Jollof rice was super good too. They can improve the cleanliness of the place a little bit and may be make it a little more bright inside but if you are looking for the food, you would be delighted!
This place is worth a try if youre in the area. It still has all the pool and darts it did when I took my soon to be EX there 12 yrs ago, but plays better music and is very low-key, relaxed. I would say ALL are welcome to hang out and have a great time. Owner came by to make sure all was well and that my buddy Gatortail and I were having fun. We were so Ill definitely be going back.
I went last night for the first time.. and it’s definitely my last! It was EXTREMELY EXTREMELY HOT!! There was no air circulating in the main club.. I noticed there was another section that was EXTREMELY COLD inside, but you had to buy bottle service to get inside. The only thing good about the night was the rum punch! It was really good..
🪳🪳My sister and I bought bought Suya as we were picking at it at the bar we see a ROACH 🪳!!!! We left the Suya there and they didn’t give us our money back. NEVER AGAIN!!
I always order to go orders and send my friend to pick it up for me. A lady name BLESSING usually takes my order or someone else. But they are fantastic and food is awsome!!!! Only thing is if I place an order why when the person arrive to Pick up they have to wait a long time as well. That I dont like but customer service is good and food is AWSOME!!!! Great place to order food.
The food was delicious but the portions were too small for a baby bird. Very disappointed in the tiny portions of food such as the goat they charged 25.00 for. Do better Murphy’s. Smh.
Service there is excellent and the food was served in a timely mannerThis is an edit:we always visit this restaurant but last weeks treatment was the worst. They had a party in one of their rooms so service was horrible slow which was fine but what made me mad was the fact they were serving only people they were familiar with, a few people came in and pretended they had ordered to go and ate it right in front of us... the people sitting behind of came 40 mins after we arrived and they were served...We waited for 1hr20min and decided to leave. That was ridiculous, bringing Nigeria mentality into ur business
More or less like a sports bar or restaurant, however you pay to go in!!! This is a first time for me to pay before going into a bar/reasturant. Ordered some bbq beef(suya). It was ok, I have eaten better. The service was quick, the atmosphere was good, but I felt the music was too loud, we could bearly hear ourselves. The drinks were ok, prices were average, the bbq beef was a bit high. Overall nice place to hang out and have a great time.
Had a blast hot wings were so yummy. Bar tenders were friendly. Had the best liquid marijuana drink Ive ever had. The only negive it took about 10-15 minutes just to get in. Not because there was a line because it wasnt but because the card machine could not process out pay due to some1 being on the phone keeping the lines busy. They couldnt find who was on the phone the whole time and we just had to wait. I figured hey just let us in we been waiting and trying to pay for a very long time customer service in that area was not at its finest. I still had a great time.
The customer service is not good an the drink prices to high for what you get. Its a ok place but would not running but would not be my first choice to go at all.
It is a new spot. The night I went they had a comedy show on one side, music with a club atmosphere and another area with music and pool tables. Their is also a potato area that is small but nice. They serve food and have a limo service if you need to rent that service. Their was not a cover fee to enter. I did not drink but it appeared they had a full service bar as well. The restrooms were very clean.
Food was Excellent However the Customer Service was Horrible. Our Waitress Was Very Rude I’m not sure if she was having a Bad night or what I kind of felt like she was going out of her way to be rude honestly but it’s cool she just missed out on a Good Tip Her Bad Her Loss. Other than The Rudeness Food Was A1!
I’m giving 4 stars the food was excellent however we ordered 20 min in advance arrived and still had to wait additional 45 minutes (mind you this was on a Friday afternoon not busy at all ) Waiters was seen socializing with each other but failed to come check in on our table . Please do better this will cause me and my family to take our Buisness else where .
First of all I did not expect them to take that long. I was not buying food and only wanted a drink. I was told it was $12 and when I checked my account they had taken $16 out of my card. I did not want to make it a big deal at first so I called to ask the price of that drink and I was told was $10. So why was my card charged more? I called and asked to talk to the manager and she told me $2 was tax and the other tips. I did not authorize for tips to be taken. Why would it be charged without at least telling me. Please in case anyone decides to use their cards at this place make sure you are not being charged more because this to me is very unethical and unprofessional. I am still waiting for their call back. But that was a very bad experience I had. and on the receipt I signed $12 and not 16. My first time to there was not good at all. And to tell that I was only passing by and did not sit to have my drink just collected it and left. Please be careful when yall use your cards there for purchases.
I order Jollof rice at any Nigerian restaurant to stay on the safe side but surprisingly the rice was so soft and mushy. It was over done and I couldn’t finish it. You can’t mess up Jollof. Was very disappointed and waste of my money. They charge for every little thing and the food quality doesn’t reflect the price. And service was as expected, not good.
Absolutely notorious is an understatement! The servers need to learn how to properly treat and serve guests. I went to this place because I read good reviews, but that was a bad idea. I didn’t even get water, had to sit in a hot, humid room, and was completely disgusted with the overall experience! Please don’t go here if you don’t wish to be insulted!!
Food is good..if you go for safe dishes. Dont try something you arent familiar with because if you dont like it, you wont be able to order anything else- theyll actually refuse to let you order anything else. Bartenders are cool though.
Horrible lounge both their services to their restroom arena, filthy as hell with the outdated dirty carpets and roaches all over the place!!!This lounge need to be shut down, not hygienic at all, my stint there not something to talk about at all, not sure if any governmental agencies ever been there in recent times 🤔Will NEVER visit even for a second 👎👎👎
, just try to Improve on Customer service. I know you guys can do better. The customer service was HORRIBLE. I came in with a friend from out of state who wanted to visit an African Restaurant and disappointed. Please improve on the customer service. Customers are the heart of any business. Thanks.
This was my first time here and overall I liked it. Friendly staff, big venue, good music and good food. Downside is it literally took 45-60 minutes for us to get our food from the time we ordered. It also gets really loud so its not the place for intimate conversations.
I think this place lacks honest reviews. Theyre only concerned with collecting entrance fee and service delivery is zero(0). I paid the *entrance fee* with high expectations only to realize nobody was willing to serve us. We left 45 mins after getting in.
The best authentic African food youve ever tasted and nightclub after 9 everyday from 2 p.m. to 2 a.m.
Their prices increased, and they automatically added gratuity, which didnt happen on my other visits. The total was almost $100.00 for 2 drinks and 2 entrées.
Where do I start...the isewu was cut in big pieces and it was imposible to eat (50.50$). The asun was made with a tomato base and no rice was offered (29.50$). The suya was great(29.50$) The goat roti is not west Indian at all (17.99$). The roti didnt have chickpeas nor did it taste west Indian. Last but no least make sure to look ask for prices because the menu doesnt have it for all the dishes and website has all the wrong prices. Sad to say but none of the food I got was worth the price
I didnt even make it to the restaurant to try the food. The girl who took my order was extremely rude when taking my order over the phone so I called back and cancelled. Ill spend my money somewhere else. No wonder this place has so many 1 star reviews for the service. The food probably good but I wont be finding out unfortunately. I dont think the girl even realizes how rude she is and shes not very friendly.
This is my first visit and Ill be back. While they actually delivered on the music and the ambience, I gave it a 3 star because the bar service was ATTROCIOUS. They had about 6 bartenders that night (Jamaica independence celebration) and they were all stationed at one end of the bar. My advice, buy ALL what you need to drink for the night and then go back to enjoying the music.
Great atmosphere first time comer. People are nice and friendly. The only issue was that the server tried to overcharge us. She overbilled 2 bottles of wine by $40. When caught, she claimed that prices on menu are subject to change(only on food which is also not right)and lied that she let us know before . We ask to speak to the manager instead she came back with a modified receipt claiming that the mgr aggreed to change but will not do it again next time (right)... This is really dishonest... So watchout and always pay attention to your items price on the receipt so you wouldnt get rip-off by servers who already get 10% tips on receipt.
I only stopped there too pick up an Uber passenger. I suspect that their clientele is all black/African, which is fine, but Im not sure how others would blend in. It does look like a fancy place, but louder music than I cares for.
Omg. Customer service is soooo bad. They are soooo rude .I am not sure why the owner allow this kind of thing . You literally get anxious trying to go get food. I only go there when I am literally out of option . I just cant. Nigerians need to do better when it comes to Customer service.
Murphys mansion is a cool and laid back spot the only issue is trying to order food and drinks. If there was a better system for that then it would be great. The music is mostly reggae and a bit of Caribbean. The food I have not tasted so I can not speak on it. The vibe is chill and the drinks are amazing.
Had a great time, the music was entertaining, the drinks were banging. The suya was good just expensive for the portion amount. The jollof rice was life but the chicken that came with it was tough , and the goat pepper soup was satisfying. They need to hire more waiters because it took 45 minutes for me to get my food. I started getting hangry after awhile.
I loved it best African club in Dallas. I didn’t eat but the music and drinks are the best take all your friends with you!!! I went one Friday thought it couldn’t get any better then Saturday was lit!!! They play American music too even old school just awesome just go you won’t be disappointed I’m still trying to find a better place here in DFW
Very bad service. We called our order in for pickup 40 minutes ahead. When we got there it was not ready, then they charged my card for somebody elses order and said they couldnt refund or fix it until the boss got there so we just needed to wait. Weve already been waiting to have food made. After fussing with the waitress for some time she finally gave us the difference in cash. Boss still was not there when we left.
We had suya meat and it was good. The shrimp was okay but fries cold not good. Still i want to go again. Had a good time. Like the music.
Good food and atmosphere. Waiters can get overwhelmed at times and there is at least a 20 min wait before getting served if dinning in. Gratuity is included in billing.
Their service is extremely poor! My goodness! If youre a lady its gonna take like forever to get attended to. The waitresses were more concerned about the men. It was just so annoying. It took forever to get the food out. Damn!
If you need to eat any African (especially Nigerian) food, this place is your best plug!
IF I COULD GIVE ZERO STARS I WOULD!!!! The WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER. Sadly I choose Aso Rock over this place everytime. The African lady waitresses do not like to serve women. And Im not just talking about me and my friends. Ive seen it done to other girls too. The only time I have been served is if I sit with my male friends. If your a WOMAN dont come to this place.
The Best food. The drinks are up in price even during the day time. The food is the bomb tho. I travel from fort worth to get a plate at least once a week. If they start happy hour with half off drinks Im moving to Dallas. Lol
Pretty consistent with the food.Have had the Carribean, American and West African dishes. Greens and Jollof rice was too greasy for me. Red Snapper with rice and peas was good. Fried catfish pretty good.. Nothing fancy. We have the same bartender every time and shes always awesome... Forgot her name! Love the atmosphere.. Chill place.
Murphys Mansion is a comfortable, friendly, clean and safe place to be.The food is very authentic, tasty home made cooking done in a very clean state of the art kitchen. The bar is a huge filled up one with all kinds of drinks and the bar tenders very prompt in mixing and serving drinks. What i really Love is the music, it keeps you happy till you leave.
Worst experience ever! Please for your SANITY do no go here!Waitresses with extremely HORRIBLE attitudes, They do not give a damn about customers.Extremely POOR customer service,Unnecessary LONG WAIT TIMES for food & drinks,Extremely STALE and COLD food,Missing orders,90% of the items on the menu are not in stockVery UNSANITARY with flies flying around the food.To crown it all we got OVERCHARGED with food we did not even order!Yet another failing business that needs to be shut down ASAP.
It took forever to get the food over 35 minutes for Catfish & the price for it was too expensive. The food was ok & not all of that.
Good DJ playing afro beats , great atmosphere all around and the food was on point. As far as the 4 star rating, the music selection by DJ seemed to focus on crowd infront of him next to entrance but there is another bigger dance floor inside which if DJ had view of would have accounted for type of music. It was a good song everyone hyped up then followed by ok song, needed that flowing rhythm for the whole crowd
Came from Boston and was looking for some great Nigerian food. A friend recommended this place but then, it turned out to be the MOST horribly tasteless thing Ive ever had! The goat meat pepper soup is nothing to write home about. The vegetable soup was just some salt, knorr, and water...dont waste your dollars here folks
The service was horrible. Our server took our order and then gave it to another server without and explaination!! The food was ok. I ordered jumbo shrimp curry and when the food came it was not jumbo at all. The music wS was the same no variety.
I went there for the first time and vow not to return. In addition to the extraordinary loud raucous they call music the place had not opened very long before I noticed my table was sticky and unsanitary. In addition to that, some of the comedians were funny while others shouldnt have bothered to appear. However, what bothered me the most was the inferior and incompetent customer service. I sat in my spot for over two hours and not a single person asked me if I wanted anything: not even a glass of water. Contrarily, one of the waitresses managed to take the time to meet and greet a few ladies who sat across from me as well as my company who arrived one hour late. She served them and made frequent visits to the table without giving me the time of day. Ok, lets just say I was ignored, therefore I will ignore the establishments existence.
I went in on Monthers Day and was advised by the manager, who had an attitude, I believe she said her name is Tunica they Do not accept service animals!!!. I will be contacting Ada & anyone else to file a complaint. She refused to look at my service dog documents. I advised her that what she said was ILLEGAL & a violation. She didnt care
I star is only for the food. We waited 20 minutes and were never approached, even after flagging 2 waitresses. As we were leaving the manager stopped us and aaid we shouldnt leave because we couldnt get service. He got a waitress and after 40 more minutes received luke warm food. Had to flag the waitress down once we finishes for the check. She added a 20% gratuity to my check and when I called her out she said that I should have noticed before giving her my card. I was livid, after back and forth she reimbursed the gratuity. A month before I left because I couldnt get served. I know now it wasnt a fluke, will never patronize this eatablishment again.
This Place is Wow!!! 100 Stars for it. Very nice Staffs. Great music. Delicious meals. Even have pool boards to chill off. If you visit Dallas or live here and don’t make it your favourite spots. Then I don’t think you’re in Dallas. Lol. 😍
The service is not too bad if you dont go there on friday and saturday night. But in all good food, drinks decent and a good atmosphere. I love to go there when its not crowded.
Stephanie A. was very nice and courteous. I had a problem with my food but she did an awesome job at correcting it. She was extremely customer service friendly!! Because of her I will be back!!!! Oh yea, and the building is nice.
This is a place with authentic African food the food was amazing the ambiance is to die for really good food I suggest this to everybody you just want something different and authentic it was worth every penny.
Murphys Mansion is the place to be, for your finger licking experience. My hubby and I went in for the first time, and was almost deceived by the reviews; but glad we were not disappointed. We ordered Isi ewu, Fish pepper soup, Edikaikong, and Nwkobi. Believe you me it was tasteful and delicious. Thanks to my lady, Kelanie and the entire crew that made our visit worth the whole ❤️
My favorite place for good music, great food and a relaxing atmosphere UNTIL the party begins! Ms. Regina and the staff are great. The owmer Mr. Murphy is a real cool guy who actually talks to his customers! NOW thats customer service.
Reggae music slow and unorganized stood for 20 min at the bar for a drink and food bartenders made eye contact with me several times and never came spoke or acknowledged me. Im 64 cant miss me and there were several bar tenders I walked out
It is 10$ cover now, drinks were 6$, there is a lounge with pool tables, then a dance floor in a separate room. Great west African music on screens.
Cool spot. Good food. Cool music. Nice bartenders all female. Out patio smoking area. A lot of seating and stages with poles. Pool table, ping pong and dance floor. 2 djs on friday and Saturday. Party bus and limo rental. Hookahs. This place has it all.
They serve local African delicacies which is good. Had a bar server using his bare hands to pick up lime for my drink and in my presence tried to force the lime slices down into the bottle of Smirnoff ice drink i had ordered. When i asked why he was using his bare hands and also not just serving the drink with the lime in a cup, he replied that his hands were clean. I smiled and just asked him to keep that drink for himself and get me another one. He dumped the drink in the thrash angrily. Was surprised that he didnt see anything wrong with his action. The hygiene standard there is questionable
Lol tbh this place was the highlight of my trip. Our Uber driver recommended us to visit and so we did on our first night in Dallas. Despite it not being very full, the atmosphere was still fun and the staff was friendly.
Nice ambience. Been here couple of times. They have different events weekly like Karaoke Tuesdays. They have several table games like table tennis, pool. Assorted meat like Suya, Asu, and Pepper Kpomo are some of my favorite and theyre quite an attraction. Decent service.
Waitress was awful and rude.and they include upto 20% gratuity in your bill without giving you a chance to decide what you want to tip.Asun and suya were really hard.
Brought my family to try some Kenyan food from out of state and we all loved our meals. I had Goat dry fry with Pilau, and the rest had Matumbo and Goat choma. The food was amazing!! Perfectly spiced, good portions and excellent service. I will defined be coming back :).
The food was okay but the server was grace. My server was Grace
Murphys mansion is located on Whitehurst rd in Dallas. Went to the location with 2 other girlfriends. The atmosphere is fun and the drinks are strong. I did try the food but it was very salty. Also, please dont trust the waitresses!! They will over charge you. Our bill was about $60. We asked the waitress if we can split the bill and she said that was fine. When we got our bills, she charged each of us a $10 gratuity. I asked why was she charging us a gratuity when it was only 3 of us. She said because yall are a party. Wait, what?!? I didnt know 3 people was considered a party. I was pissed. I dont mind tipping but let me tip my own amount. Needless to say, our bill was $60 that came up to $90. So the waitress ended up get a $30 tip for providing us half ass service. If you do visit this establishment, definitely be careful!
Horrible Service. The meat was disgusting. It took forever for the food to come out. The only thing that was decent was the jollof rice. Our waitress asked us after 40 minutes of sitting if we wanted water. That should be the first thing you bring out. I don’t understand this place. I have so many questions for the manager.
I paid for everything with one and waitress and another waitress came again charge me over $45 for a small portion of suya and the charge came up at synergy’s global auto on my account I don’t know if Murphy’s is in out but I was scammed by a waitress.
For this to be my first time, I had a blast. The culture is so different and the staff was nice. Please order their food...the curry goat was AWESOME!
Love it.. but they need more contemporary song. Try to ask dj if he could play current song. He was very rude.. did not even bother replying just waved me off.But other than that love it
Great music but the service is horrible, the waitress are not friendly thier bar tenders are very so theh look over u when u are trying to get a drink. They false advertise their events. Said that they had 3 rum ponches all night but lied about that. I wouldnt recommend to no one.
Some bar lady or sales lady call Ashlee pick my call after I was frustrated by the first person the first call but the second time Ashlee pick it and was so professional talking to me and when listing food that was ready and how long it will takes to prepare the freshly made one and she is awesome
This is the best Naija spot to hangout in Dallas. I have never come across a restaurant that has a combination of Carribean, Soul food, and Nigerian food on the menu. Its like 3 in 1 package. Literally the best of both worlds.
I’m here right now on thanksgiving, you would think they’d be prepared but no. Come to find out I been waiting here an hour without my greens. I had to eat my whole plate of rice witch I didn’t order. I had to take in place of fufu. Totally disappointed in the way I was treated. I feel it was because I was black American an not there kind. That they didn’t take truth to me really wanting stew an Spinach and fufu.
Very cool hangout spot. With friendly faces. One of my favorite spots in Dallas. Its a African/island music vibe. With African/island food. Its great
I went there looking for their East African food and they told me they do not have it! Why keep it on the menu if they don’t have it?! They charge veeeery high mandatory gratuity fees ,,it should be voluntary .The dj plays only nigerian musics,,sound quality should improved
I gave 3 stars because the food was great but the service was SUCKS! the waitress was very nice but just very slow, when i first arrived there was no waitress or bartender around so i waited about 10 mins or so but as soon as i was about to leave she comes out , i ordered a drink first while i was looking at the menu, and it took her a loooooong time to even bring it to me and there was no one else she was tending too i was the only there at that time, im not sure that im going to dine in ill just do take out because the cook is great.
This business is very unprofessional i came to order dinner and after waiting 45mins my order was wrong but instead of fixing it the owner told the workers not to take me and friends order. What type of customer service is that its 12:15 am im hungry. The food was cold so it was not fresh so I dont know why I wait so long for my food to be microwaved.
A regular hangout to listen and dance to African music and sample their menus as well. The servers work hard for their tips, which is ok for guests.
The most terrible place to lounge in Dallas Tx.they charge you entry fee den impose gratuity fee on you when leaving. The gratuity fee is automatic charge on my card without my consent. The bartends are sausy, very rude and disrespectful .This place should be shut down. Please don’t come here, you will reaped off completely!
Very nice food, great music from their DJ. Their Jamaican jerk chicken and rice and peas is very authentic. Their suya too is amazing.
We enjoyed every moment there. 4/5 cause most of music was Nigerian. It will be great if they mixed it as African
Nice big space but the A.C. situation needs help. It was super hot. Maybe add more fans. Bar service was slow. Either they need more bartenders or a more efficient way of service.
