Ive been here three times in the past two weeks. Great space. Great bar. Good music. Friendly staff. A real first-class experience and a welcome addition to Denvers gay bar scene. And its an easy place to bring your gal pals, too. I mean, youd have to try really hard to dislike this place, or have a axe to grind.Theres seating at the bar, high-top tables, and cozy booths with bottle service available. I wish it had a dance floor and a big outdoor space, but instead its got a full restaurant kitchen (formerly Vesta Dipping Grill). I havent tried the food yet, but the menu is top-notch. Its like a gaySTK.EDITED to add that the location is not dangerous, as another review stated. The city shut down the str8 druggie dance club that was across the street from Sir and now the block is back to being normal and safe. I live down here; I know.

The cleanest and classiest gay bar in Denver. The food is amazing and the staff is great. Sounds like there have been some of the usual speed bumps involved with opening a new establishment but I think all in all this is an excellent addition to the Denver LoDo area

Fun new gay bar in the downtown area. Bar is large and has a cool vibe. Staff was friendly and the drag show on Friday was fun and interactive. Altogether a good time.

Feels like you are in hell with the obnoxious red lighting. There is a difference between setting a mood and feeling like you are drinking at the bat exhibit at the zoo. This might be in the financial district but still does not fit the vibe of Denver at all.Was not open at midnight on a Friday? Doors were locked but people were inside drinking….Glass door also had a large crack.Drag queens refusing to perform in mass due to owners public bigotry.Last time we were there is was dead at 1AM on a Saturday…I got a free drink because the bartender made me a rum and soda??? Instead of a rum and Coke…If they need examples of a welcoming vibe and atmosphere Pony Up is right next to them and is 3X better!

I was highly disappointed. My experience was sub-par, and overall I have no desire to risk experiencing again.I read several of the reviews and articles. I was super excited to experience Denver’s new gay bar for my birthday. I purposefully waited for the hype and crowd to die down before checking it out.The music is awesome and could be a fantastic club. it’s more of restaurant bar scene than bar nightclub. I was hoping it would transform into a more nightclub as the evening progressed but seemed to stick to more of a late night bar that serves overpriced drinks. Not even a hint of a gay pour. Very weak drinks for a gay bar.I made a birthday reservation and it was not recognized or celebrated.Service was SLOW! It took just as long to received drinks as it took to receive our food order.Food was over priced for the “family style sized” portions we received. We all could have ordered individuals meals and still have plenty of room. I was actually still very hungry afterwards for a $35 pork steak and fries plate with Brussels sprouts. Our server seemed to be the slowest in the entire establishment. Took forever to place a drink order, and by the time we were able to we were ready to order food. Our server didn’t seem knowledgeable about the menu, and sides were forgotten. I had to remind him they were missing. When we are ready to order a second round of drinks and he was no where to be found and I don’t believe he ever checked back in.Finally when he did show up we were ready to leave and grab drinks elsewhere.

SIR is a great addition to Denver’s gay bar scene! Creative cocktail menu, friendly bartenders and good seating options for both large and small groups! Also really enjoyed the music which was a mix of 80s/90s and 2000s pop, R&B and dance. We’ll definitely be back !

The sign says it asking for Vaccination cards and I was not asked for one when I entered on Saturday. No one was wearing masks. Fun Idea to have a new gay bar in Denver. This definitely isnt a Denver bar. Walked in and the line to the bar awful. They need to learn to put the bar stools away at night to make more room. Especially if they only have one bar open. The bartenders were slow. We were lucky to have found a server walking to pick up drinks, and we were able to order with him. Drinks took over 45 mins to get. My group just said we were all bored and left.

The staff was very friendly, Great space could be a little more intimate. The drinks were average to fair. The food was awful, We ordered the crab cakes, *dry not much taste; almost like a rice potato chip with crab like bacon bits; ordered the Berkshire pork, extremely fatty (more fat than meat; should have sent it back) and the bacon steak, VERY fatty as well (odd looking) all the dishes were EXTREMELY SALTY.. our table of three all agreed it was very cheap meat covered in salt and odd sauces to cover up the lack of good ingredients. Wouldnt go back for the food.

The vibe, music, and look of this place all 10 out of 10. Went for drag queen brunch and loved every minute. Lacey and Felony were such great queens and the mimosa towers made everything better. If you are going to get food though the only thing I can truly recommend was the burger, it was delicious!

Went on opening night. It was crazy busy but you can tell the bartenders and staff really cared and were doing the best they could and made the drinks strong. It was a cute space and good music, I think it’s an awesome addition and welcoming for the LGBTQ+ community. I’ll definitely be back, I’m excited to see this place succeed.

Atmosphere and service was amazing. Clean, quick and prompt. Only complaint is the menu.. It was a reach, some onion rings and mozz sticks would take you so much further.. if you wanna keep it “fancy” which seemed like the idea maybe truffle fries..Not letting it affect the rating but seriously I would’ve stayed longer if I wasn’t starving.

I had a lovely time at SIR. From start to finish the experience was INCREDIBLE. When we arrived the doorman was professional and checked our IDs and vaccination cards, as expected. We noticed the bar was quite busy, but this was what one would expect on the opening weekend at a well marketed bar.We got our drinks after a short 15 minute wait, compared to what some places are like when theyre this busy. With only 4 bartenders they did a wonderful job! Plus, the drinks were pretty STIFF. And DJ Boris was creating a memorable vibe.I cant wait to return!

Tried this place a second time to see if it was opening wrinkles. The cost of drinks is far too much in comparison to any other gay bar in Denver and the pours feel lacking for sure. The service is still incredibly slow and appears like its just a bunch of people trying to appear busy but are not. It took 10 min for the person Infront of me to get a drink with 5 people behind the bar doing nothing. (Bar was pretty empty at this time). Gets a 2 for Having a constant drag presence which was fun, and the DJ seems pretty good. Sorry but I cannot wish this place upon anyone.

I visited Sir for the first time with a large gay social Meetup group on a weekday evening. This new gay bar/restaurant occupies the space of the former Vesta Dipping Grill that fell to Corona. Sir has creative drinks and a large, handsome facility with a mixture of standing, bar stools, and booth options. I have not tried the food but the menu looked appealing so I will do so next time and update my review accordingly. Denver is lacking in (and has historically struggled to adopt) upscale gay venues, so I am glad to see this latest attempt, but the Ballpark location seems a tragically odd/unlikely/inconvenient location for a gay venue, upscale or not. It will be interesting to see if they can succeed, and I hope they do and I am proven wrong! As others also mentioned, my first impression is that Sir seems to be more of a superficially gay-themed venue than a traditional, serious gay bar. The OG Denver gay crowd is notoriously hard to win over with such concepts that are easily replicated in the larger markets, however with all the emigration to Denver from those larger markets, that may be changing. Sir is ostensibly targeting that hetero but gay-affirming segment as much as it is the gay demographic itself. They are understandably new and working out the kinks - I was impressed to see their humble responses to some of the critical reviews, it is a good sign they are engaged with the customer and pivoting based on feedback. Hats off to anyone taking the risk and opening a new business, and I look forward to visiting again.

I’ve been coming here since they opened and I’ve read all the reviews and of course everyone’s opinion is validated but I don’t agree with a lot of them.I actually like the location. Denver doesn’t have a “gay district”. So I like having a space downtown. I think the drink prices are the same or comparable to other places in Denver (that isn’t a dive bar). The music is always FIRE. I like that it doesn’t feel overly young like some other lgbt bars/clubs in Denver. I do enjoy the full atmosphere. The staff is always great and welcoming.

This review is from Saturday 2/6, We had a reservation at 7:30, we departed at 10:30, Upon entry we were told we had to wear masks (mind you the city order expired). no a big deal i suppose. However, the the thing that bothered me the most was that all of the staff were masked up but the owner was going around to tables maskless. Rules for thee and not for me.We were sat at our table, about 15 minutes after a person came by and asked if we had been helped, and we said “no” he said i’m not sure where your server went, he disappeared. He then took our drink order and went away. Not sure how long it took for our first round but it was more than 30 minutes. Finally our drinks arrived and he asked if we wanted any starters, so we ordered the Olives and Brussel sprouts. The food came out fairly quickly, roughly 20 minutes. The olives, 5 of them to an order (about $7) were soaked in vermouth and olive oil i believe, they were just ok, certainly not work $1+ each. The Brussel sprouts were charred and looked great, had peanuts in them and i believe a balsamic vinegar, which was way over powering, too much of whatever it was. When the food came out we ordered another round of drinks, this round took a very long time, so long that the server even made a comment about how slow the bar was. When he went to check on them they appeared. Considering the number of staff behind the bar and the small crowd I am not sure why it took so long. When they did come, they were well made, they nailed my old fashioned, 5 stars on that.We then decided to order entrees, our order was the Pork chops ($55) and the bacon steak ($24). The food came out very quick, but it did not seem many people were ordering food, so kitchen was probably not busy. The food…. The pork chops were an amazing cut of meat, tender and juicy, however they had no salt or seasoning on them so very bland. The honey sauce was good and helped it, but on its own not so much. The other item was the bacon steak was a long slab of pork belly, that has some weird crunchy coating that reminded me of the hard fake bacon bits in a bottle at grocery store. The dish was decent, not much to take care of your appetite, should have been a $12 appetizer in my opinion. The food was pretty lackluster, and the price was too pricy. As for the drinks, as i mentioned, they mailed my old fashioned, the pours were decent, a bit pricy on some things, tito’s and soda $10. We did get different glassware each time, one drink came out and was wrong, took 15 min to get corrected.A couple other notable mentions, it was their grand opening, and there was a decent crowd. In the crowd was a couple of birthday parties, to which the staff came out of back yelling and carrying sparklers through the crowd and then launching confetti, they also got on microphone and screamed over it, the whole thing was obnoxious. The DJ’s were good, kept the mood right, not too loud, great loungy feel.At about 9:30 the place was fairly busy, no regards for masks (which i’m good with, but they had a rule). When we were ready to end the night it took us about 20 min to get our check, as wee were leaving they had a small line outside, it seemed like they were trying to create the appearance of something it wasn’t.Overall a decent place, i hope they may get the kinks out over time, i might return for a drink sometime, but as for the food, it was WAY overpriced, and just did not deliver for me. Was still hungry when we left.

Drinks are way to expensive, quality doesn’t match the price point. We had two shots, Both not even full shots. Like maybe 1/4 of a shot. On top of the bartenders being so slow. After waiting 20ish minutes for a drink, with one bartender ignoring half the bar. Comes to take drink order, had to tell her three times what I wanted. it wasn’t even busy. It be one thing if you charged that much and it was good drinks and proper shots. But to charge 10 bucks for a 1/4 of a shot. Not cool. Hire some good bartenders. Everyone looked like it was day one bartending.

I didn’t actually get to experience SIR. An 11 AM reservation was made for the Sunday drag brunch to celebrate my birthday. Upon arriving we found the place completely closed without a soul inside. There was a second party looking equally as confused. Upon doing some online investigation we discovered that the drag brunch doesn’t start until 12:30. I don’t understand why I was able to make an 11:00 reservation for a place that isn’t open until 12:30. So much for that birthday celebration.I won’t be returning to SIR and most certainly won’t be recommending it to anyone else.

I wouldn’t come here again. This business is located on the same block on Blake St where there is a ton of shootings and stabbings going on. Very sketchy area. The Denver Police recently shut down two bars last month in January alone on the same block (Beta Club and Cabin Tap House). This place has a very weird vibe, like demonic / satanic vibe with its red color. I don’t know why the owner chose this color scheme since there’s already so many evil in this world. They should also hire more talented DJs because their music is not good I Google their names and nothing pop up. And their sound system really leave a lot to be desired. Every club/bar owner knows that good sound system make customers go back. I’m really glad there’s a new LGBTQ bar, but it was so poorly executed. The bartenders there look like they are there only for the paycheck, and the clientele there seem like they are there to escape reality and to drink to numb the pain of life away. Very weird, sad, depressing, vibe inside. If that’s your thing, then you’d enjoy this place. But it’s not for me.

Second time in, wanted to give the place another chance. My first visit was when they first opened and it was just ok, Ill chalk up the lackluster service and less than prompt service to the newness.Tonight i visited with several friends, the service was quite a bit better, and overall better experience..My reason for 2 stars is the overall experience, i just am not feeling it, maybe because I am not gay? Not sure, seems a bit pretentious,I can say one thing is certain, THEY HAVE REALLY BIG PLATES for little steaks. Definitely bring your credit line to eat, and save some money for Mc Donalds on your way home. :)

Two stars because the space was cute, and the DJ was good. The bartenders were very, very slow. Waited over 45min and still didn’t get a drink, my bud and I just ended up leaving. I hope that in the future when I go back, because I live so close and it’s walkable they have this all worked out.

Absolute ship wreck of a place. Rude staff. Awful watered-down expensive drinks. We ordered 3 vodka sodas and it consisted of a splash of vodka and about a gallon of soda and 10 pounds of ice. Basically, we paid $30 for three glasses of Club Soda. Oh, and the restroom had no working sink and instead had a giant jug of hand sanitizer. Yeah, during a pandemic they have no working sink. And why was there always someone in the stall going #2…? What’s in the food here? I’ll never go back. I just don’t see this place lasting.

Arrived just after 2pm Sunday (1/16) We were asked for IDs and vaccination cards. There was no one at the door to handle/check this for the patrons arriving after us. The space is nice with bar seating and large tables for groups. The service and drinks are just meh. For opening weekend there were very few, if any, promos.

Cute idea and concept, however I think they will learn quickly that Denver Queers are about cheap well cocktails and beer. The menu looks like something from a French Bistro, another thing that will certainly not be appreciated by the Denver Queers. The space wants to be cool, but is just missing something, the TVs are so high in the air you get a neck strain, but no matter that, appears its just for logos.I almost feel like someone is trying to do a cheap copycat of a Lisa Vanderpump venue, while cool, it could only survive in California.I hope all your dreams come true in the Denver Market. Best of Luck, See you again soon!
