Truly a few of the highlights of my life. I just so happened to notice the gargoyle sitting above everyone, opposite the stained glass mural of Jesus, and everyone raising their hands to praise the music gods. I met some amazing peeps here. It is multifaceted. Different areas had different music playing. Loved the light shows too. I wont ever forget these locked in memories. Dont tell anyone, but we fed the security guard cheeseburgers to get in. 😜 Hey, everyone has to eat.
I’ve always loved the church, but the last experience I’ve had here has made me question coming back. The security here definitely has issues. After the show my partner and I were trying to get an autograph from our favorite artist playing before we took off. One of the security guards let us hang around, a few moments later he had to have us go around to the other side of the stage so we did that. Then moments later a security lady is pushing us out of the venue and her older manager is yelling at her and us to get out in the rudest way possible. This manager was extremely unprofessional and if we had stayed any longer she was looking like she was ready to use brute force on us. After this she just kept targeting us and harassing us. We were calm the entire time meanwhile she’s slamming gates and yelling in our ears. This lady should not be a manager. She went out of her way to ensure that we wouldn’t get an autograph it was such a weird and terrible experience. The artist we were seeing was even asking her to please hold on for just a moment so they could sign for us and then the lady yelled no and was rude to the artists. It gives Denver a bad look for artists visiting this night club. After going through that it doesn’t surprise me that I’m seeing lots of bad reviews on here about the security.
Very fun club, I saw Borgore. The setting was great, very busy. I love the different themes. The basement felt very pop, while the top floor was the grimy wubs we came to see. Great variety.
First off, I want to say the bartenders are always great. Ive been to a few shows but last night was really a dealbreaker for me. I wanted to give this place another chance, but i will not be going back. Entrance security has always been good, especially the women. HOWEVER, the male security inside the venue are on a power trip. They will aggressively bump into you & then threaten to kick you out like its your fault. There was a specific security guy who was walking through the crowd and harshly bumped into my friend, causing his hand fan to hit me in the face & almost stab me in the eye. He was not looking where he was going and then when my friend tried to say something, he threatened to kick us out instead of apologizing. Security does not make me feel safe. Very antagonistic. Instead of harassing people enjoying music, maybe they should be more worried about the underage people clearly intoxicated & the others tripping on drugs. This club has the potential, but they need to replace SOME of their male security. Never again.
Went to the Church Nightclub, and I must say the staff and bartenders were nice. The whole vibe and entertainment of the venue were such a delight. I loved that one chick; I think they called her Hurricane Irma. She has such a delightful aura to be around. This whole venue deserves five stars.
There was a $20 cover, which isnt too bad, thought the place would be wild on a Saturday night. It was not. I had a couple of guys stare me down and try to intimidate me in the bathroom. One of the bartenders was very rude, just stared at me after i ordered, had to ask him how much it was. I got two double whiskey cokes, well whiskey, that set me back over $50 before tip. Dont waste your time at this place.
Church is a fun place to dance and party. I like the multiple levels with different types of music. However, some of the bartenders are extremely rude and made my last experience very bad. I understand that the job is busy and stressful, but that’s the job.
Good looking venue, but super expensive! I attended 4/5. I paid for four mixed drinks for me and the boys. It came out to $128 damn dollars. That left me with a terrible taste in my mouth the entire night. Price gouging at its best. Never coming here again.
I don’t remember there being food, but the cocktails were delicious. I really had a good time. Plenty of places to dance, and the whole place was just vibey. Great music venue!
5 STARS TO THE EMPLOYEES - The Church venue is beautiful, the staff (including security) is so so awesome. Those reasons get 5 stars. I’ve gone maybe 10 times and my experience is always the same in regards to atmosphere: It gets flooded with under 21 (some are rude but not all) and you’re just trying to dance when all of a sudden March of the penguins barges in your group trying to cut across the venue. I wish all the 21 and under could just stay in the lower part of the venue. That sounds so mean lol but it’s true! Some of us go to see artists we really admire and it sucks to have some rowdy kids in front of you.
Don’t go to this venue regardless of who’s playing. I went here twice for EDM shows hoping the atmosphere would match the music, but the crowd is extremely young. It wasn’t until after the show that we realized it’s a 16+ venue, so the majority of the people there are 16-20 years old kids clubbing for their first time. I think this venue attracts the teens because it’s the only nightclub they can enter, so they don’t really care who is playing that night. They can’t control their alcohol or drugs and it’s reckless, sloppy, dirty, and an overall terrible crowd to be around. Drinks are also overpriced and they don’t accept Apple Pay which was annoying and inconvenient.
Love this place. Only problem i have as if last night is that my boyfriend, our friend and I got kicked out for intoxication because i apparenrly was unable to walk and was stumbling everywhere. Haha. I had one drink, we were all chillin trying to have a good time, my boyfriend picked me up and kissed me, I was sitting across from him and there was a small round black table infront of me. When I asked why we were kicked out for intoxication and asked to speak to the security supervisor, some Hispanic guy working security (who I heard speak fluent English to his coworker) turned and said he didnt speak English. Supervisor came. He asked the guard who kicked us out why he did so because it was clear I wasnt intoxicated like we were told. He told me we made the security guard really uncomfortable. Security also wouldnt let a girl get her jacket from coat check even though she had the coat check ticket pulled up on her phone. So. Whoever reads this that works here. Show your security supervisors boss. They need to better tain their staff to pay more attention. I worked security at a club before. Its dangerous. Be aware of everything. Not just little details you made up just because you have power
God what a beautiful venue ran by terribly aggressive staff. I understand that it’s 18+ so they have to be strict but my god the pat down to get in is so violating. They touch your breasts, go into your socks, and look through each pocket in your tiny wallet. They even opened up my friend’s diabetic testing strips and had no clue how to handle medical devices, and almost ruined them. They were aggressive toward my brother when he went to a punk show there, and we’re pushing people out of the way on the dance floor. The young people who go to this club are just a hot mess, and the creepy dudes are waiting for their chance to take advantage.Raise the entrance age to 21, focus on an older crowd and I’d be happy to pay more for entrance and drinks.
The Church Nightclub in Denver, Colorado, earns a resounding five stars for its utterly unique and exhilarating nightlife experience. Housed in a converted church, the venue blends stunning Gothic architecture with a modern nightclub atmosphere, making it a visually spectacular place to spend an evening. The music here is exceptional, with top-notch DJs spinning a diverse array of genres that cater to all tastes, from electronic to hip hop and everything in between. The acoustics, enhanced by the churchs original architecture, create an immersive sound that is hard to find elsewhere. The lighting is thoughtfully designed, complementing the stained glass and stone arches, which adds to the mystic and vibrant ambiance. Friendly and efficient service ensures that each visit is smooth and enjoyable. For those seeking a unique twist on the typical club scene, The Church Nightclub is a must-visit destination in Denver.
The only reason I took two stars away is because the music was trash for the entire venue it was so weird. It felt very 2016 with the music, but the venue is dope! When you first walk in, its obviously a church. You can go upstairs if you think its too crowded on the dance floor. They have 3 different dance floors with different styles of music each at the building next door. I will say those DJs wasnt hitting either. Would definitely come back again if I knew who the DJ was. I went on a Saturday night and the main dj in the church was playing 2016 edm and some random Spanish music (I say random cause none of them were bangers. Strange.) Then next door downstairs was playing your usual radio music and next door to that they was playing salsa and cumbia.(once again not the good cumbia which to me is crazy) point is this place gives you high expectations especially when you walk in and see how big this place is but the music 🫠👎
How are we supposed to feel safe when the own security team is drinking while on the job instead of making clients feel safe? Its own security sells the wrists bands to minors on the side. One of their own security has had multiple fights with clients and it’s still there working. Instead of getting better it keeps on getting worts. This has to changed for good. Videos are going around of security fighting with customers nothing safety about that.
I went in as a joke last week with a couple of mates on a trip but had an amazing time great staff especially the girl at security, all around its a good time.
DO NOT SUPPORT THIS VENUE! 😠This is the only music venue of its size that requires 2-3 active law enforcement monitoring the exit every night it operates. They recently installed a void sound system but cant pay a qualified sound engineer so it sounds horrific. They constantly break the city sound ordinances and are very poorly managed. They sweep all their patio trash onto the sidewalk and leave the surrounding area filthy. The people that frequent the venue are extremely ratchet and destructive. Their age limit is 18+ so you constantly see teenagers drinking excessively in the surrounding area and breaking glass bottles. People leave the venue parking lot extremely drunk and I have witnessed multiple collisions of various severity within the past year. Just last week I found a shirtless kid in my building that was roofied and had his phone stolen at the venue. Living next door Im typing this message as my windows are shaking from bass and I can actively see a dude pissing in the middle of the street.-sincerely someone who works in the music industry and goes to shows multiple times a week
Seeing other negative posts on this place was a ponder on my brain. My kiddo had a recent a birthday, she wanted to check out church..so I brought her, her friend & my wife.. it was a breeze getting in.. no issues at front entrance..no gropings, situated ourselves..got a margarita.. utilized coat check services.. then danced the main floor nonstop. We stuck to our inner group circle like a lot of others do.. The girls totally enjoyed the music and all aside from the creepers who try to no avail but then absorb the hint.. bumpings or a slight unintended push is a given in a packed place of young ones.. a fight was inevitable as per usual in these settings. But other than that when girls say they’re here for the music.. they’re here for The 90’s 2000’s throwback mixes blended with reggaeton. Prolly return..🫡
Its a nice place to go have fun but they dont have AC so is like an oven inside there but good music.
First time visiting this venue, generally poor experience. Had a cartridge confiscated. My issue with this, is ive lived in CO for years now and have been to multiple music venues around the state, and anytime there is an outdoor area for smoking, i have never once had an issue with being allowed to freely use vape cartidges on the premises outside. So i therefore, genuinely didnt think there was any issue , or that i was breaking any rules as a result of multiple past music venue experiences both in and outside of denver within CO. Its worth mentioning that they also had zero signage of any sort indicating these guidelines. Seems several other people have had this issue as well. Unfortunate. If i had known about the rule, i obviously wouldnt have tried to use it. One of the security guys told me in a very (unwarranted) abrasive and patronizing way that this wasnt allowed, and implied i must not be from here if i didnt know this rule. As this was my first time at this venue/ first offense, and my first time hearing of this rule in general, i think a warning would have been more than appropriate given i would have had zero issue with complying and putting it away for the night once knowing, since it was an honest mistake and i didnt have any malicious intention.Meanwhile i could see and smell several people throughout the rest of the night vaping without being reprimanded. The larger issue here is it seems this rule is not enforced consistently at various venues throughout the state, nor does it seem to be enforced consistently within the venue itself. Signage is harmless and would help to educate people in a preventative sense rather than confiscating peoples belongings after the fact. For a weekend show- the advertising of this venue was also misleading in that it mentioned multiple music acts occurring at the same time in different rooms, however this was not the case. There was only one performance happening in the main room. Misleading. The crowd was also noticeably very young. As in college age at most. I have heard this from other people in the past as well. Would be nice to see a more diversified age mix of people. At the very least, more than a bunch of kids (who acted like kids) that appear barely of legal drinking age. Other venues of this size in denver seem to draw a more diverse crowd which has a noticeably better feel to the venue vibe. Speaking as someone in my mid-late 20s.Was looking forward to this venue being of a similar (ish) caliber but Denver version to a couple former favorite Brooklyn venues such as Elsewhere Hall, the good/bad rooms, the Basement, all unique venues also known for creating multiple experiences in different rooms. But i was sadly disappointed due to the inconsistent rule enforcement/ lack of signage, the misadvertisment of music experiences, and the type of crowd that seems to be drawn here, which frankly felt juvenile.Did i mention that even venues throughout nyc (or other local denver music venues) dont have as rigorous of a security pat down process to get In but are still perfectly safe and more enjoyable? Its excessive. A woman really took her time looking through my tiny purse twice over to memorize its contents. Needs a better system. One could say theyre being super vigilant but they come across as a-holes. Mean while they dont seem to thoroughly check ids, so im confident there was plenty of underage drinking which frankly carries significantly more risk than vaping ever could. The only part that was enjoyable (however, greatly affected by the factors mentioned above) was the music itself, but the artists (who we got tickets months in advance and stayed downtown overnight to come see) get credit for that. Not the venue.I think i would only come back for the relevant artists we listen to, if applicable. but frankly the monotonous age range of the crowd was a bit of a turn off. Long story short, this venue absolutely has the potential to be fantastic, but it very much fell short for my first impressions.
I come here for the house music shows and they never disappoint! Great atmosphere and multiple rooms for different artists. The staff is friendly and helpful too!
Worst security ever they’re way too strict but also super sus. If anyone’s on a power trip it’s the security at church.
I went to this nightclub the other night and this guy name salt or sal did such an amazing job I love his energy and he was so nice and careing i was new and he helped me alot and hes such an amazing guy this place was fun and amazing and the staff helped alot and did a really good job deserves 5 stars
EDM night is awesome!! Just moved to Denver and I am so happy to have this place so close to home.
We went on 7/6/24. Alot of fighting and security doesnt do anything about it. My husband got slapped and two girls kept shoving everyone and yelling. There was even a shooting nearby due to a fight.
Security is pretty cool most of the time. It gets EXTREMELY hot (obviously).. dont know if they have AC or not. Biggest complaint I have is their bathrooms. You would think that with all the money they get every single weekend they would at least fix their bathrooms. There was a huge gap in the ceiling and it was dripping heavily. So gross and unsanitary.
Went out to The Church Nightclub with some friends and let me tell you we absolutely LOVED it! This historical building was a great place to host my 21st birthday party. We decided to splurge an get bottle service, which is something that I would absolutely 100% recommend. The server was very nice and explained everything to us very well. The VIP experience was also something that is absolutely unmatched. They also do a great job of limiting the crowd to a comfortable size. It was the perfect balance of a populated, yet not to claustrophobic dancefloor. The energy in the building was electric as well. Drinks came quickly and fun was had all around.10/10 would absolutely recommend!
Looking for a great time? Ive been attending shows at the Church with my friends since it opened from the Covid shutdowns and its quickly become my favorite venues. Theres a good variety of music here and we always have a fun time. Special thanks to Chris (our favorite bartender) for always having the best energy and customer service!
Like everyone else mentioned, the security is insanely crazy. Has a habit of stealing weed products for sure. They will go through your wallet. Wouldn’t even come here again tbh even if there’s an artist I like. That threw the whole vibe off for the night.
So during the purse check they took my tincture bottle, which Ive never had an issue with before. We went into the alcove to pay cover but decided not to go in because we didnt wanna spend $20 a person. Asked to get my bottle back since we didnt even go inside and they told me no. After reading the reviews, they apparently have a habit of stealing peoples weed so I definitely wont be coming back.
Just be careful to go outside and te entry people there are more than guardian dogs, they are starving
The worst security of any nightclub Ive ever been to. TSA is a walk in the park compared to these guys. Never has anyone felt me up like that or went through my wallet in 10+ years of clubbing. Didnt even know they were allowed to go through my cash like that.Wear ear protection because the sound system is not tuned properly. Gets insanely hot in there so youll be going outside a lot.Venue has been around for a while so thats cool, but honestly its a below average nightclub.
I literally go to this venue like every Thursday and am always told I am on a list as a promoter there is one guy at front desk who is always just SUPER rude or mysteriously misplaced my name on the lost but then when I call my team it always gets resolved. They make me run through this dumb rigamarole every single week its lame. Love the bartender Chris and the girls upstairs the artists otherwise tbh I wouldnt go at all. Ive supported this venue for years and they treat everyone like a perp I tend to have a better experience other places but the artists are good. Best spot is the balcony.
I got free tickets and came here, 10/10 DO NOT RECOMMEND. Security was awful and so rude, place was empty even with a big performer, inside we had issues with people left and right and took us having to talk to security twice before they would actually do something with obscenely intoxicated people screaming and ruining our time, drinks were $16 a piece and extremely mean bartenders. SAVE YOUR MONEY AND GO TO MISSION BALL ROOM FOR ARTIST OR TEMPLE, it’s sad because this place has so much potential but unfriendly staff and terrible atmosphere ruin it for everyone.
We went during halloweeked, we spent $40 per person to get in, and we were pat down before we were let in. We had a fun the music was great and I felt relatively safe (well as safe as you can feel with strangers surrounding you). My only complaint is the that the floor was disgusting 😭, there were cups all over the place that I had to keep kicking away from me and at some point I stepped on liquid that had dried down so I was sticking to the floor.
THEY CONFISCATE NARCAN!!! DO NOT SUPPORT THIS CLUB! IF THERE IS AN OD, THEY WILL BE LIABLE SINCE THEY ARE THE ONES TAKING IT AWAY!Update: I guess they’re allowing it in now. But we will see. I still rate this place as is.
I have always loved going to the Church. The staff is fantastic and the security always makes sure the people inside the venue are safe, cared for, and secure. I have always felt comfortable going into the venue due to how well the security watches over the patrons!
The place is very cool. Sound system is on par with other clubs this size. Weird mix of dubstep faithful and frat bros. But $30 for a cocktail!!! Ridiculous. Would go again for sure to see an artist I like. Will pre-game next time.
Fun place but I cant believe you guys had a tip page pop up for the cover charge. Tacky.
The Church is a great venue with awesome artists but the security is a joke! They pat down ladies who are already not wearing much, they are extremely aggressive as-well. Last night I saw one of the security guards basically tackle a girl to the ground out of nowhere because she was smoking weed inside. Not okay at all and security needs to keep hands to themselves.
LOVE the security at this place!! They are friendly, polite, and make me feel very safe! Thank you Legacy security!! Drinks are always bomb! Music is fire!!! Club is poppin!!! If you’re in Denver visit Church Nightclub for a night full of great times and feeling safe with your girlfriends!!
The most packed night club Ive ever been to! Bartenders are nice&friendly! 3 dance floors- 1 being entirely devoted to salsa - 4 bars- and a rooftop to escape to for a smoke and a GREAT view of Denver and the Rockies - and all of it wrapped up in a authentic BEAUTIFUL GOTHIC CHURCH with the ORGINAL STAIN GLASS WINDOWS Youll never want to miss Church again.
Super fun! Beautiful space and the vibe is just immaculate! I loved it in its entirety!
Security is more like entering prison than a night club! I was invasively gropped while wearing leggings and form fitting top. I felt violated! The security guard took my friends wallet and starting going through each individual bill, which is 100% illegal!!! We wont be back, and I would strongly recommend literally any other venue in Colorado!!
Cool old church building. nice venue. not too small but it was pretty intimate on the Thursday night i visited. kind of a goth crowd on thursday/edm night. i was told to go for the dance music but it was a little harder than I expected. young crowd. the security pats you down at the front. you can bring a vape but no drugs or drinks. its a little pricey to get in. i paid 30 under 21. not really my cup of tea. i like other places downtown for a more friendly and relaxed vibe. just a little too grungey for me. if youre looking for head banger music, this may be your place.
Women typically pay $10 cash. Be ready to have your bags SEARCHED. As a venue that allows 18+, it’s just a precautionary measure. They WILL open all zippers and touch everything. It has three floors and usually super packed! Don’t bother wearing elaborate make up or doing your hair up too nice. It gets so steamy and sweaty. People are constantly dropping drinks so prepare for that too! It’s all in the fun. The music IS mostly Spanish music mixes.
The venue itself is super cool! But they have a team of security that have no identification on them so theres a bunch of dudes wearing all black with hoods up, its super sketchy and unsafe. If youre a woman Id avoid this place like the plague.
All types of music. Great DJs. Friendly and attentive service. Many bars, many different rooms for dancing. More than enough seating areas.
Went here to see hot since 82 last night. Awesome club and lots of security. Felt very safe and well managed. The speakers sounded great and the lights made a good show. They also spray some sort of fog into the crowd once in a while which does a good job at keeping it cool.My reason for 4 stars instead of 5 was towards the end of the night about 45 minutes before closing it was very hot on the dance floor and I needed water and some air. Felt like I was genuinely going to pass out. The bar was crowded so I tried to go to the top floor outdoor balcony area and was rudely told to go downstairs by security. Like whatever I guess It’s closed but it shocked me how rude they were about it demanding I go downstairs.
Eeeeh, only go on Fridays. Can be a real hit or miss. Saturdays smell like piss and old weird men fill the space.
Don’t go here unless you want to be nearly cavity searched at the door and feel like you’re at a high school party. Saw multiple kids get thrown out within the first 5 minutes and there were two chicks yelling & banging on doors in the bathroom. Super weird vibes, felt very sketchy and uncomfortable. Go ANYWHERE else, most Denver clubs are great and don’t let children in.
Bizarre establishment. Security looks like they are trying to conceal their identity with full face coverings. You will be accosted in the bathroom if you dont tip the attendant who demands to dry your hands. This place is only worth going to if they book an artist you like; if you come here for any other reason you are doing yourself a disservice.
It was horrible! it felt like there was no air conditioner!
Everything is amazing, very great atmosphere, only downside is they dont have gingerbeer, however thats such a small issue its almost not worth mentioning
It’s a nice club with good sound and some nice areas to sit. Overall I like it better than Temple but as others have said, it’s like a SAUNA in there. I understand it’s an 1800’s church but how bout installing a fan? There is NO AIR FLOW. I literally left the club early because I NEEDED FRESH AIR. There is no excuse. I can’t imagine what it’s like in summer.
We hosted a large event for clients for a national conference. The event venue was great and everyone had a blast. We had over 500 stop by and the dance floor was packed until closing time.In addition, the event staff were great and friendly. Everyone raved about the food and I’d highly recommend this venue for people that want to have fun!
A lot of these reviews are complaining about the lack of AC. Its a renovated church- of course they dont have it. I also dont understand why people are surprised that in a large crowd of dancing people, it gets hot. Yeah, duh. When I went the other night for my 21st, it felt perfectly fine. The ONLY issue I had personally as someone else pointed out is the bathrooms in there could definitely do with a little more upkeeping. Other than that, I had an awesome time there. I met this LOVELY bartender named Allie. As it was my 21st, I had never been to a club before, and I dont really know my drink options. Allie was quick to give my friend and I all the details about the club, and when asked for drink recommendations, she did not disappoint. I spent more than I intended to because of her (in the best way). Super sweet bartender, I hope everyone that goes here gets a drink from her at least once. Overall really good music too, great vibe, beautiful place. Definitely want to go back. I also see a lot of bad comments about the security, but I guess I lucked out because security wasnt nice, but they were friendly enough. and they were ON TOP OF IT. Some guy getting too handsy with some girls was immediately removed. The also had one posted right at the bathrooms to keep an eye on everyone there. There were focused on there job, and it genuinely made me feel a lot safer seeing them so focused on doing their job.
Bartender in the basement in the bikini SUCKS worst bartender i’ve ever had she’s extremely rude and does not care about her customers
So crowded peoples lives were at stake Halloween 2021, I damn near called the fire dept, then on a dead night like tonight me *and* my friend got roofied. All I had was water. Awful place, bad crowd, no dedication to safety.
Cool nightclub that boasts some bigger talent. Awesome aesthetic and feels roomy with the giant vaulted church ceilings and glass windows. The sound system is far from the best in Denver or even within COClubs arsenal, but the total experience is enough to justify a lack of audiophile sound if youve got a DJ youd like to see there. Its a fun time! Dont expect huge thumping bass, crisp highs or extremely modern visuals. This place is an old church and a wonderful place to have a spiritual experience with your favorite DJs... No frills, just dance.
It was good place to go but I had a DD and got pretty tipsy and completely forgot some of my belongings upstairs there is no re entry so they wanted me to pay $25 to get my belongings back. I asked if someone could get it for me or some way I could get my belongings back but they refused.
This was the worst experience at a club ever. Me and my friends tried to get in and they got charged extra despite being 21. The drinks are outrageously overpriced, $11 for a cup of ice juice. Security is unnecessarily rude and pushy. They publicly padded down my friend and it was very uncomfortable. I would not recommend at all if you’re trying to have a good time.
Good sound. Lots of places to hang out and a downstairs area with a couple of music rooms. You can also go behind the dj in the main room which is pretty cool. Also amazing people come to this club (in my limited experience haha)! Immaculate vibes!
The security guard was extremely inappropriate while patting a few of the girls in our group down last night. Pulling dresses straps down, touching our breasts, way too handsy. The entire establishment is over priced and not worth feeling uncomfortable for.
The show and the club are amazing! My only issue are the security guards at moonboots who decided to steal from my boyfriend and I. Granted yes, i had a weed pen on me that I had forgotten about in my bag, but the lady security guard decided she was going to put my pen in her pocket right in front of my face when she was standing directly next to the trash can and the guy who found my boyfriends cartridge told him he can have it after the show if he paid him for it. The church needs better security guards. I honestly cannot believe how crooked you all are, like go buy your own weed. There are so many dispensaries around town.
Interesting nightclub. Its a refurbished old church. There are lots of interesting rooms and decor
If I could give it, zero stars, I would. They did the pat down and checked through my bag I mean entirely everything, “threw out” some weed. I had quotations over, threw out because the security guard definitely kept it. The trashcan was not even 4 inches away from her hand, and I never once saw her with even the slightest intention to throw it out. After handing me my purse back and saying she was done she just kept holding the joints in her hand as I walked in I never saw them get thrown into the trash. Very sure she kept them for herself. Also, they charge for something as simple as coat check. They sold tickets online and they said they sold out but inside it looked kinda empty in every room…. I thought it was a nightclub.
Security went out of their way to steal my pepper spray after I walked over.
Honestly, it was my first time going here and I absolutely loved it! Ive loved edm my whole life and it has always held a special place in my heart, so The Church Nightclub hit the spot for me. At first appearance all you see is this old Episcopalian church with Gothic features inside of it that gives it an ambiance you wouldnt expect until the music starts playing and you realize that you just stepped into a unique world of electro dance music. What makes it so intoxicating is the wave of different people who you would never expect to see there (including myself,) come together to feel the music pulsing through each of us as we unite and enjoy the music. EDM is a magical form of music, and The Church Nightclub is a wonderful place to express those emotions onto a dance floor connected with like minded people.
If you want to suffocate from all the humidity and heat generated on the main dance floor go here. This nightclub has no air conditioning and doesn’t seem to have any intentions of adding one anytime soon. Been the same last 3 times I went…Temple is right around the corner yall. They actually care about their customers comfort.
Last night I went to Church for the first time and I had the worst experience with security. I’m under 21 for the next 4 months so obviously I couldn’t drink and wasn’t going to try as I was DD for my group. After only an hour of being in the venue security INSISTED that they had seen me drinking out of a clear cup multiple times. The only thing I had in my hand the entire night was a Red Bull. When I asked to see security footage and for them to check the cameras knowing I had never drank, they just yelled at me and continued to throw me out without my phone, wallet or coat. They stated that I could come back another night but I will not be returning. It was extremely disappointing how disrespectful the staff truly were. Until they have new security, you can count me out.
Currently staying at the Warwick and definitely want to check out this cool and unique venue. I’m giving 5 stars to the management for their responses to the reviews, whether positive or negative. It shows they listen to feedback from patrons and truly want to provide the best experience possible for their guests. Hopefully I get to visit the venue before heading home to Austin and will follow up with a review if I do :)
I had an enjoyable time plenty of bars throughout the Club. 3 dance floors. Main stage upstairs. 2 downstairs. It was a actual Church at one time. They kept it a lot like a church. They added nightclub lighting. It was an enjoyable time.
Last minute visit. Nice club with different theme areas.
No more moshing. Regardless of how good the vibes are.Security was cool about it, but were massive buzzkill at a system where the majority of the fun is goin hard in a loving way.
One of the worst nightclub experiences Ive been to in a while. Management doesnt turn on AC in there. We first walked in to a blast of humidity and it honestly felt like we walked into a rainforest. Not cool. Definitely dont go here, especially if theres a popular DJ playing.
This place is definitely a hit or miss. If your a pretty girl be ready to be harassed by the female security. The manager Limey definitely needs to do a better job of hiring good people. This would be a great time if the staff was better. The cover charges for this club are overpriced for what you get. Definitely hit Beta, or Purple martini for a better atmosphere. -you cant have a good company without good people behind it.
Has to be one of the coolest venues in the US. Drinks are a bit pricey. A must see
What an exceptional venue!!! I cant rave about this place enough. The bartenders are friendly and make great drinks! The music is always banging, the bathrooms are clean, and there are plenty of places and floor to explore and relax in. A must visit for any night owl.
Such kind workers that go above and beyond! Love going here
Security has been known for kicking out individuals on Thursday rave nights. Staff has been extremely creepy to my young female friends 18-20. Staff is judge mental- do not come here. They will also kick you out for seeming to be “too intoxicated” when you are not intoxicated at all.
Very disappointing with church nightclub. they kicked me out for assuming I was part of a big group of asians because I’m asian? I went to meet some people and next thing I know I see a staff member pushing me out to the exit because they said I was giving a minor a drink when I clearly wasn’t. (they said they can check the cameras, BY ALL MEANS, GO AHEAD) They kicked me out because they said I was asian and couldn’t TELL THE DIFFERENCE. Never seen much of a racist security staff.
I went here the other night with my friend, it was our first time going to a club just trying to have some fun. I didn’t even get to stay more than 30 minutes. I was underage but my friend wasn’t and left her drink outside so I was just walking literally across the hall to give it to her when a security guard grabbed me by my wrist. I had not had a single drink and was completely sober. She grabbed me so hard it left a pretty nasty bruise on my wrist the next day even though I wasn’t aware of what was happening or what I did wrong. Give me a refund please!!
Both night is on Sunday wich i love ❤️ and the ppl and atmosphere are the best in town! You cant have a bad time here unless you are bringing the bad vibes with you! 🥰🖤🩶
The sound mixing was pretty bad, but it’s a fun venue.
Queer people, go elsewhere.I was denied entry by the bouncer on 8/27/22 due to not wearing sleeves despite wearing a shirt with sleeves that covered my arms from my armpit to my wrist. Only my shoulders were exposed, which wasnt a problem for the female-presenting people I went out with (who were let into the club wearing a tube top, spaghetti straps, and a tank top).I specifically checked the dress code prior to going because I was worried about being stopped due to my outfit (aka my queerness) and saw no mention of sleeves being required. This was clearly used as an excuse to exclude me. This, combined with other comments from people of color expressing that they had difficulty with the bouncers, makes it clear that this is a space for straight white people only. Spend your money elsewhere.
A huge disappointment. This place used to be amazing and unique and full of locsl history and a place the alternative community could rely on with consistency. After the owners remodel it has now turned into yet another generic, cookie-cutter club with frat house vibes. Cause thats what we needed, right? I went once after the reopening and was pretty broken hearted. This steadfast gothic denver staple has now lost basically everything that made it special. They arent even OPEN on Sundays anymore. I used to frequent this place, mostly on Sundays but on other days too. Now I have to say I will not be back. Way to ruin a really good thing, guys.
Terrible security, am literally 1 year sober came here with friends to enjoy the club but got harassed after using the bathroom. Black woman who is “security” said I looked too intoxicated. Literally as sober as a judge. Never had a problem here but tonight was a thumbs down👎👎. Place needs new staffing
The customer service from the door guy then to Coat check then to the bar - STAFF WAYS Amazing!!Not that big of a drinker water was available at no charge at all bars.As far as the VENUE - if you haven’t been there you are definitely missing out!!
Last night (3/18/22) at 11:45pm, at least 4 security had tackled & maced a POC on the PUBLIC STREET SIDEWALK. All while shoving a woman waiting in line, where she fell to the ground. There was so much mace that it reached the people on the patio, who had to run away. The amount of security inside was unnecessary, who followed people around (myself included) & were looking to find trouble & get aggressive.Terrible environment in a beautiful venue.
When you walk in, first thing you will notice is the smell of B.O., urine, and feces. Music is a hit or miss. Throughout each floor, you will hear security YELLING at everyone to keep moving. Then, if you as a woman have a problem with someone harassing or pushing you, the security will take a photo of your license and let the person go on about their day. As a woman, i recommend other women to find a safer and more welcoming nightclub. The entire atmosphere is messed up. You’ll pay $14 a drink and still get treated like you’re in a boot camp, getting barked at and instead of an actual customer. GO SOMEWHERE WORTH YOUR MONEY!
First time here:The security did not allow my friend in. All of a sudden the security here knows how to read a invalid permanent resident card. My friend was told she was here illegally in the country. This woman is 50 years old clearly she isn’t underaged. I believe the security at this place should not be doing citizenship status checks because they are not authorized to do that. Also this place is packed no place to sit, walk, rest. Restrooms are disgusting 🤮they smelled like poo, and period. I don’t think they clean the restrooms while people are there.
I went to a concert there last night. I wasn’t there even 10 minutes before a group of woman bouncers followed my friend to the bathroom and then proceeded to take her to an alley and kick her out without any explanation. Had I not seen her with the bouncers I would’ve not known where she went. They then proceeded to kick me out to as I couldn’t leave her alone. We lost half our group and tried to get in to just tell them we left. It was 20 degrees outside and they wouldn’t even let us sit in the section at the entrance while waiting for an Uber. NOT A SAFE PLACE FOR WOMAN TO GO! Definitely sketchy aggressive staff members. Do not recommend.
Not the vibe terrible music and weird staff L club overall
Security is terrible. They follow people into the bathrooms. Security stalks and harassed innocent club goers. Their Yelp reviews are filled with accounts of people getting kicked out for dumb reasons. Drinks are way overpriced. Music is pretty basic.Don’t waste your time and money. There’s other clubs in denver to go to for way less money and way more fun. And if you go somewhere else you’ll be able to dance and have fun without feeling like you’re being chaperoned at a high school dance lol
This is a solid club. Bonus for the church venue. The line in was fast, the service was totally fine for me, the acoustics were great, and the staff was courteous. The main dance floor was totally packed but there were plenty of of chill spots all around. Also there are bars seemingly everywhere - some in the main area and others off in other parts. I would go again.
We were hesitant at first, the cover charge seemed steep but it was absolutely worth it. The music was on point and the location couldn’t have been better. Drinks were over priced but other than that, we would recommend visiting when in Denver.
The venue is in a cool location, I didnt have a problem with any of the bouncers or bartenders. The music wasnt amazing but it wasnt bad. However I ended up walking out in less then 30 minutes because of the crowd. No class and at least 65% male on the night I went. Not my type but maybe for someone else. I have yet to find a high class club downtown and I feel like maybe this place could pull it off but it would require changes. Only been once so take my review with a grain of salt.
First timers on NYE. Contrary to their policy, they were not checking vaccine cards that night-- at least not ours. Security seemed to be unclear on guest lists versus tickets and we walked both lines twice. The crowd definitely leaned under 21 and saw a number being kicked out-- unsure why but definitely quite a bit of hostility around security.Redeeming qualities were def the music, bar staff, and chill spots around to escape some of the chaotic energy. Id come back on a Thursday.
Walked up to go inside; noticed security not performing pat-downs before patrons went inside. Did not feel safe going in this venue where people are drinking and potentially bringing in weapons. Yet, they required a vax card before entering, but proof of a negative covid test is not acceptable. I feel like they only care about perceived safety for their image.
One of the most traumatic experiences being here on a Saturday night on 02.26.22 between 10-11PM. Security was aggressive and used excessive force to push myself and a friend out for no probable reason. The restroom was being used at the time and instead of throwing up on the dance floor respectful used the women trash can and was told to leave. Very trashy and appalling behavior from security and needs to be addressed for the safety of other patron who visit Church. GIVE ME MY REFUND BACK!
DO NOT LEAVE WITHOUT CHECKING YOUR RECEIPTS!!! Last night I purchased a shot of tequila and a vodka cran from the nice lady upstairs, $20 and tipped her $1.50 before being on my way. I went into the basement after a while and bought a pbr, not a tall boy, just a regular 12 Oz can. The guy bartending didnt give me a receipt and I didnt bother asking since it was loud and I wanted to return to the fun. After checking my bank account I now have two charges from The Church, one being $21 from the lady upstairs, and the other being...$20 for a lousy pbr. I know drinks arent cheap when you go out, but I highly doubt thats the cost of a 12 Oz. Pbr and considering this was my first time going to a club and buying drinks, I have already lost faith in this clubs bartenders and will now be extra careful as Im already a broke college student who rarely gets to treat herself to this kind of outing.
Security is horrible, they me and my friend into the bathroom and harassed us. I’m Underage so I had X’s on my hands and didn’t even remotely try to touch anything alcoholic. The security came over to me when I was minding my business sitting at a booth not doing anything, took a picture of my ID, and kicked me out in to the alley way. When I asked if I could talk to my friends the security told me if I call them over they’re getting kicked out too and that I shouldn’t be the bad friend. Also, when I asked what she was going to do with a picture of my ID she said I was going to have to figure it out the hard way and then pushed me out the door and slammed the door in my face. That left me stranded by myself, underaged, in an alley way at 1AM in Denver. I’m not trying to exaggerate but I’ve never encountered someone as “security” so rude and dismissive.
Horribly overpriced admission, expensive drinks, rude, ugly, fat, bad smelling security dwarfs. If you set your drink down and go dance, despite keeping an eye on your drinks, the workers will come grab it even if it is full and throw it away without any consideration. It is 18 and up on Fri and Sat so there are minors everywhere so they are worried about them stealing peoples drink apparently and instead walk around and just take them. Not worth it. Go to any other club, you will be better off.
Security is trash. I got checked before going in per usual and i showed the security i had my nicotine and dab pen in my pockets and she let me in. Later on the night i went outside to smoke and a male security ripped the pen from my hands stating that i wasnt allowed to have it?? He literally took $70 by taking that pen when they couldve told me at the front to not bring it in or to just put it away. I told him they lady who checked me let me in with it and he obviously never came back to return it. Just sucked to get $70 robbed like that while someone behind me was literally smoking a joint.
Great sound system. There is actually places to sit unlike Temple. Security is great, they keep people in line and kept the venue safe.
Having to use my moms account bc I lost my phone at this club. They are impossible to work with when it comes to retrieving lost items. No numbers to call, just a contact form that takes half a week to get a reply from. I went in the next day to see if anyone would be there and nothing. Now im left waiting for them to open 4 days from now because find my iphone says its there. Security wasnt any help either the night of. Disappointed i paid $40 for a NYE ticket and this is the customer service.
Terrible. It was WAY too crowded. It was difficult to just walk or dance because of all the people. The venue is also incredibly hot, and they dont offer free glasses of water. If you are not going to have circulating air in a room full of hundreds of people, the decent thing to do would be to give your paying customers, since there is a cover charge, free tap water. Im very disappointed. I will not be going back, and Im definitely telling all my friends not to go. There are better clubs in Denver with decent service.
Your HVAC sucks! After all these decades and you still cant install a good HVAC system! You literally sweat while youre standing!
Be prepared to be greeted by crappy security staff some of them are decent tho. The place is just managed terribly and the DJs arent the best but once you move past all that and just have a good time you might not even care that the entrance fee is $20. Also the parking is $13 or $14, bring exact change for the parking lot cause the machine DOESNT give back change. After the club has closed and they turn off the music and it hits 2 am you might just catch a riot between the security team the OWNER of the place and the paying customers. Have fun!!!
Terrible experience , very crowded which. I can overlook, but poor management , door man was extremely rude to me for no reason and no other employees seemed to care what so ever , ruined my weekend , over priced aluminum bud lights , and pretty basic long room... also they have party’s for people under the age of 18 regularly .... I will talk trash about this venue for a long time to come , due to bad management ... don’t go, they will charge you $40+ just to go Inside ,... train your security better or have some sort of protocol , trash venue ....
I love coming here. I come here with friends sometimes to dance. But the last few times Ive gone was for the annual Denver Vampire Ball that the Chateau Cat Girl Manor hosts. The venue itself is an actual old church, so the aesthetic is wonderful. They are some of the funnest events of the year. I love the multiple bars, several floors and even the upstairs VIP area to overlook the dance floor and dj booth. It is a big venue, has decent bathrooms for a venue and they staff is happy to give you a glass water which to me is HUGE - whereas other places make you pay for bottle water.
Kicked me out with a lot of asian people assuming I was part of a group of asians sharing drinks. First time I’ve experienced discrimination from the employees like that. After this experience, I’m giving this place a 1 star for handling this situation.
I am visiting from Kansas City and came to The Church with 30 friends to celebrate a birthday and holy sh*t, this place is amazing! First, getting in was quick, even with long line, door staff were friendly, reasonable cover charge, and the best part was the atmosphere... the lights and the MUSIC 🎶 ... fantastic, and bumping big time! We had a great time.
Always have a blast dancing here. Wish it wasn’t as crowded and sweaty in main room. The basement is a lot of fun with the different rooms. Bathrooms get gross.
Just got kicked out because they assumed every Asian in one section gave drinks to underage ticket buyers because they didn’t take the time to check who did. A lot of my friends and I got kicked out for simply being in the same space
I hosted a corporate event at The Church Nightclub during a conference and it was the perfect space to facilitate conversation, mingling and a live band. Attendees raved about the set-up and friendly staff. I look forward to hosting more events here in the future.
DJs are ok I guess. Wish they had a greater variety of music. Vibe would be hype if they played good music. Security peeped under stalls while people were doing their business. Security is a joke which I can confirm. Cover charge is 30 pricey in my opinion for what it is. Definitely hit other clubs.
The asian bouncer is extremely unprofessional and does not care about the well being of any patron and will turn you away and be very disrespectful and unhelpful the entire way through. He will have no regard for any type of ID unless it’s the in person one without caring about the conditions and will leave any patron in the cold whether its the freezing cold or blazing heat, this guy will never have any sort of empathy. It is totally understandable the situation and bringing it in may be protocol, but this guy is very unprofessional and will not explain anything to you and is not an upstanding person and if you see this guy just assume he will cavity search you no matter what the circumstances are, i’d love to speak with him face to face to see and understand where this behavior comes from.
The Church is an absolute garbage can. Security is wildly aggressive and rude — yelling in the faces of patrons. The vibe is rowdy sloppy frat party. They are NOT checking for proof of covid vaccination upon entry, and the crowd is mostly maskless. Truly a terrible spot that lives up to its garbage reputation. This is the most awful, unsafe place to go out in Denver.
The music was great! However there were a couple issues. The place was hot as hell. I went to tracks before and the place was not as hot as Church was. Also it was 40$ per person to get in and with the AC not working I don’t think it’s worth the price.
Nice place to have fun 🤩 the music the service and most recommend the security I believe the name is Legacy team make my friends and I feel safe totally coming back
My friend was assaulted by one of the bouncers here. His face was pinned against the ground wo good reason. I will nvr go back here. We filed a police report. If youre attending a concert here, just know you could be removed from the venue and then attacked by the staff, without explanation, for no apparent reason. Then, when you ask the bouncers to speak to a manager, you will likely be confronted with aggression. That was my experience at Church. Whatever you do, just be careful because it really is the Wild West out there. It sucks when a great venue is ruined by excessively aggressive pwr hungry bouncers, who seem to assault pe just for fun. Furthermore, it is unacceptable when that venue is run by managers who take no action after hearing repeated stories of incidents like these.
I love this venue Im here every Thursday night ik there are alot of bad reviews but this place just hits different. The crowd can be wild and the security isnt bad just follow the rules and if you need anything just find a regular. Were everywhere.
This is THE place to go in Denver for not only amazing local artists, but big names too. Security is always super nice and the bathrooms are better than most bars/ clubs in town.
This place is BOMBASTIC. I got there for the light show and instead of boringly waiting they had tons of fun to do. Free arcade games, lil sales, hella board games. I totally recommend
DO NOT GO HERE. Theres a reason everyone has MORE than 4 stars but them. The security is awful and will find any reason to kick you out. The bouncer threaten to arrest me and my girlfriend for asking them to keep a small gift bag of jello shots from a birthday party beforehand as we were ubering all night. I understand security has to deal with tons of drunk people but this was just uncalled for and Im sure there were larger issues that needed to be addressed. Super unprofessional and I dont support such staff.
One of the coolest nightclubs in the country! The visuals and the sound system are top notch. Lighting up the original stained glass is really awesome. Got some really awesome parties here, This year I saw Pete Tong, Claude Von Stroke, and the desert hearts party and had a blast at each of them!
As a high priority client with decades of EDM underneath my professional background, I was thoroughly disgusted with my treatment in September. I explained with niceties that I was the high-profile client due to be at the club. Thanos, who no longer works at the club during this time, had me escorted off the premises by security. After 100s of contracts with multiple artists this also became corporate espionage. I am almost in ever picture with artists on the wall of highlighted artists and I do not see any other endeavor then to move forward with lawsuits and criminal charges being pressed. Not one of the higher up of any club manager for SoCo has aided me in reaching SoCos owner. As a matter of fact, they all act oblivious when I bring up his name or disavow him completely. As this situation has progressed to extreme deterioration, it is necessary for me to begin pulling investment and equivocally place it to a club that has more respect for my investment and line of work. If the owner wishes to reach me, he can respond via comment here and we will move to appropriate means from there. I will only speak with John (GDF) or Regas.
I cant speak for the whole staff but while trying to gather information regarding the atmosphere of the dance environment. The door attendant taking in the cover charge said that women were free to a certain point in the Latin couple but her male friend had to pay a cover charge of ten dollars. He pulled out a 100 dollars and the attendant couldnt make change. His lady friend also looked for any cash but also had a 100 note. The cash attendant mentioned the use of a card to pay for the cover. Ultimately, he let them both in free of charge. I was still skiias questions about the establishment but didnt want to hold up the line so I let this African woman enter what I thought was a ladies free entry night but this guy charged her 20 dollars. I confronted him and said what happen to the women are free until x period of time. He shrugged it off like I didnt know what I was talking about. I promptly left in disgust. Not saying the establishment is racist buy that cash attendant seems to have a biased view of patrons of the church.
The Church is an incredible venue for a night out. We could literally walk around the DJ and watch him at his craft. The main room is festive and there are 3 other areas that you can hang out in. I counted 6 bars, plus places to sit.The noise level is LOUD. When we sat in the room across the hall from the main event, we could hear the music in that room competing with the music in the main room resulting in noise. My husbands impression was that it was all noise. He could not wait to leave. Plus the headliner didnt start til 12:30. There was no info posted about other DJs playing. A bit of warning would have helped.4 stars because of the venue. Id love to go again but need to find someone else to go with.
Invest in some air conditioning? Usually love this club but went to a show this past Friday and it was sooooooo hot inside! Was the A/C even on? Dont think so. Definitely needs an upgrade. The show would have been way more enjoyable if it wasnt so hot. Take care of your customers!! Its not good to have people overheating and dehydrated while dancing and drinking.
Its a fun night club to go to, especially on Saturdays Latino nights. On Saturdays is issualy full but there are more than 3 floors with outside patios and outside bar. Drinks are decently priced. They play modern Latino songs too on Saturdays . If your looking to dance this place is for you.
Really solid all around. It does get very hot as others mentioned but it’s a club. Its not gonna be perfectly temperature controlled. I actually lost both mine and my wife’s ID’s at the club and someone turned them in and the club had them right away when I went to retrieve it the next day. Thank you to whomever turned them in and thank you to the Church staff for helping me out! We’ll be back!
We love going to the church, however id like to point out a few improvements:- Please pat everyone for weapons. It’s sad to say, that in this day and age I feel incredibly uncomfortable being inside a nightclub where no one has been searched prior to entering. It’s a quick and easy thing to do and would make me feel more comfortable. I am to the point where I don’t feel safe being inside.- A/C. Man it gets hot inside. Please have some air conditioning!- Crowded we’ve been going to the church for a while and it hasn’t been until recently where we felt there was WAY too many people. It is to the point where you have no space to stand. All in all, my biggest request is please pat people down prior to entering.Thank you!
I like the venue itself, and my interactions with the staff have been positive, but the crowd makes me feel like Im at a school dance.
Security hit my friend with a chair and then continued to be extremely rude and kicked my friend out. We all had one drink, were not crazy intoxicated and just enjoying some music and talking. Very disappointed. When we asked a security guard WHY he got kicked out they literally wouldn’t give us a reason.
First time ever going to a club had a ton of fun security was amazing kept a great eye on everything made me feel very safe definitely going again
Don’t host these popular edm artists and then not expect mosh pits or jumping. You don’t host getter and boogie t and not expect that. Security guards will literally come and throw you if you are in it. Terrible nightclub
Great venue and friendly staff. Its in an old church, which is great for acoustics. The venue also has a bar behind the DJ, so you can actually see the artist from several views (in front, on side, behind or above). Really love this nightclub.
Inaccurate website faq, dress code isnt followedTook my cart at the door, site says nothing about thisIve been to over +150 shows and this was the worst crowd my gf and I have m ever experienced.
Love this place but for the love of God, let me bring in my own water. Or have good water for purchase. Tired of being forced to drink fluoride bombs.
I watched security on Friday night Mace an innocent customer in line for absolutely no reason. I watched his guy get assaulted by the workers. How can you run a business with these goons working the door.
Security took stuff of mine they shouldnt have ill never go back here again that is trash. The security was taking things from people with little to no explanation at all. I know for a fact the security was pocketing cartridges for themselves from multiple people.
Its an ok place , the main floor is probably the best and where most people choose to chill. A lot of beautiful Latinas but the issue is they dont dance, well with guys. Many of them will dance in a group and constantly reject guys , its like whats the point of coming out if you arent going to dance?
To whoever said they dont have visuals and only two small dance floors: You apparently have never been there. The Church has 4 dance floors, and 2 of them have sweet LED visuals. And the sound systems are excellent.
Security is a joke. Head of security Miguel probably has the biggest case of little man syndrome I’ve ever seen. And his boyfriend Eric looks pregnant but tries to act tough by carrying a big knife. These guys are not the real deal. Hire another company out of Denver if you’re looking for quality service.
Poor attitude of the staff, especially the bar on the top floor. Yesterday we were at the club bought a couple of cocktails on the first floor of the club. after which they climbed to the second floor, and on the last floor the bartender-woman did not work, but stood chatting with guards. and after that we couldn’t win over a cocktail, she didn’t want to serve us and called the security to get us out of the club
Eh I dont know my friends asked me to go to this place to see Gareth emery and it was packed. I dont really like how they have the DJ set up near the VIP area now facing the crowd. They used to have the DJ climb up into this pod on the other end of the club which was awesome!! They also used to have gogo dancers here too. They no longer have sexy gogo dancers which is some what of a let down. The drinks are like any other club $10+. Bottled water last night was $3 for Costco branded water. Im talking the 24 pack they buy for $4! Im annoyed of this place because I always seem to slip on something. I fell here recently down the stairs because the floor was wet. The bathrooms are disgusting like any other club. Ghetto stalls with the grossest fluorescent lighting. I think Ive outgrown this place. I dont think Im coming back and their ticket prices for DJs is outrageous. Usually $30 per person. Door prices expect $35+! I bet it was $50 last night! Going here always ends up being an expensive night. Id rather go to bottomless brunch somewhere instead of coming here again.
Place is a blast but drinks are priceyyyyy
Would leave 0 star if possible. Security was a joke, head of security Miguel was very unprofessional, and was too small to stop anyone. Eric was a complete joke too, very out of shape to be a security guard. Wondering who hired these clowns. Don’t waste your time with J&M Security.
Went on a Friday. There were 3 dance floors playing different musical and a lounge area where the bar tender, Travis, was very nice and engaging. All-in-all not bad. One exception, I casually and *accidentally* grazed a bouncers ass while dancing when he stepped in front of me. No big deal, Im not in the habit of molesting bouncers, but he got up in my face about it. You work at a club where people dance, get over it. If your only power trip in life is threatening to throw someone out, probably need to re-assess.
For some reason every time I come here my friends all tell me their butt cracks won’t stop sweating. I’ve never had this issue, but I’ve heard it really makes the night a good one. Either way, when the beat drops, so does my a$$ as it shakes in a high volume flap. 10/10 good experience. Would cum again.
Great sound, clean bathroom and environment! However its too effin hot. Saw several people lose their desire to be there due to the humidity and heat.
AWESOME! My first time here, saw Dr.Fresch and shuffled my butt off the entire night! Loved the atmosphere, the vibes and other than the rude bartender who refused us water it was a really great club! And Dr.Fresch couldn’t have been more amazing. Thanks for dancing with me guys ✌🏼
Latino night is always an amazing time. Or any other night Ive been. It has a rooftop for smoking and an extra bar. With a VIP lounge over looking the main floor. I have been so many times. Ive never had a bad experience always fun!!
Gosh, this place is amazing. Ive had some really incredible times here the past few years. Its got so much history and you can feel in the vibe. Had bottle service here on my 24 in 2016. Was in incredible! LOVE this place ❤️
This is the place to go if you are younger than 21 otherwise don’t go 😂. It is full of young kids, over crowded, and hot. You will sweat like no other not to mention how dirty and sticky the floors and bathrooms are.
The venue is cool and the art show was dope. But I got roofied. I came in sober, took 1 shot, and my boyfriend was luckily there to carry me out. Be careful, friends!
Very cool! Lots of interesting people, D.J.s and Gay-strong cocktails! Gothic/Industrial/Alternative folks are Synonymous with the most colorfully haired people youll ever enjoy talking to! Drag Queens Apparently are a bit of an anomaly but if it wasnt controversial to be a man in dress, it wouldnt be interesting, so I am. Who ever guessed Id be the freak in the crowd?! It was fabulous! 😀
The church has really stepped up their game over the last few years, with the sound and visuals. EDM nights here are always a good idea and I’ve gotten the chance to see some really amazing dj’s and producers here. The only downer I had here last time was that my beer was completely frozen and was like drinking a slushy.
I go here weekly, they have great alternative music to the norm, 80s etc. Lots of people I know on the nights I go, fellow weirdos bt what can you expect from people partying in a church? Its a good place as long as you arent an idiotic child. Sorry to all the under 21 people leaving shitty reviews, your business doesnt honestly contribute anything since you cant drink so of course they dont care
This club is Gorgeous! The amazing stained glass windows, several ambiances, amazing DJs, the light shows and Every one in d staff is sooo nice n friendly! I felt at home at Church! Im looking forward to my next visit!
This has got to be the stupidest club I’ve ever been to for the fact that they kicked me out because some girl took a drink inside the bathroom. I didn’t have my Id on me because i had a dress on and i was not going to take my wallet in there. So i gave it to my boyfriend who was at the moment waiting for me outside the bathroom. I told her i will show her my Id I just had to wash my hands so then she made the excuse that i washed my x’s off but no. Sharpie or not when people sweat they will eventually come off little by little. I showed them my Id but the blonde chick then said a bar tender said i was walking wobbly and i was drinking. When i was not. She didn’t even tell us who it was. My sister is 22 she was drinking so yes i was helping her walk. So I started walking where the security girl told me to (outside) and my boyfriend was trying to explain to them that he had my Id but a security gard ( guy by the way) literally Kicked him out. Kicked him in the back. That’s not right my boyfriend was not acting aggressive or saying anything he wasn’t supposed to. A security guard threatened us and even worse yet it wasn’t just me it was another girl with her Id too. I definitely do not recommend this club. Security staff is very rude.
We bought early bird tickets to see Roger Shah play a 3 hour extended set on July 27, 2018. Were had heard him at dream state and EDC Las Vegas, and knew we were in for a treat. We were not disappointed. His set was incredible and wove a story of love and light. The sound system and lights painted a perfect picture as we danced the night away beside a huge cooling fan near the stage. The Church employees were pleasant and provided safety and comfort throughout our journey. We even got to stay a few minutes after closing to meet Roger Shah. A wonderful night all around!
Hadnt been to the church in years, and was very pleasantly surprised to see the vibe and the energy is still beautiful.Only complaint. Lady at the front door at the register was super rude. All the other staff were great.Cheers thanks for an awesome evening
Disgusting service. Employees getting drunk on the clock. Blantant discrimination against black patrons. Raquelle is the most disregarding and rude staff member Ive ever dealt with in my life. This place is rotten
Great place to party, my friend lost his cellphone since they have a lost and found we went there and the person gave it to us he was extremely nice , they care about the people that is in the club and make sure they are having a great time . Thank you again for helping us find the phone
They wouldnt allow me to get my coat before I left, didnt know there was a coat service. Music and environment was fun and safe.
The worst club I have ever been to. The security were extremely rude, not to mention the security guards outside the bathrooms. Shows how people act when they have the slightest bit of power. Will not be back, and spreading the word of how terrible this place is.
Security is strict in the right ways. I felt safe and had a good time . Respect
Great for a quiet Goth theme night in the basement on Sunday nights.Same bartender on Sunday nights here is also at the club down the street called Milk. Hes awesome.Cheap drinks, great music.Went here for steampunk night a fee years back and loved the upstairs.Fun fact, while this building was once an actual church quite a long time ago, this building was also featured in a thriller flick during the late 90s/early 00s. That movie was called Strangeland. You should totes check it out.
Got kicked out falsely at the beginning of the night. The security let me back in to only kick me out again for standing against a wall. Go to vinyl or milk bar instead because the security are super aggressive and will physically throw you out if you try to ask why you are being removed.
My only complaint is that it gets really hot by the end of the night. The actual venue is fantastic with three dance floors.
Went last night and the old security with the red trenchcoat was using his palms to check my private parts, and not the back of hand. SO UNCOMFORTABLE AND DISGUSTING.
Im really upset about this place they told me to hang my hat outside because it wasnt allowed but, I see multiple people wearing hats on videos and other pictures online. I lost a very special hat if anyone has info or has seen anyone with a black on black 710LABS hat with a yellow pin please comment below or if anyone that does have it Ill pay you to give it back. This hat means alot to me.
Had a horrible experience worst one in my life do to the fact that Im not a regular customer.....my husband got into fight due to the fact that thier regular customer Marcos dropped a drink on my hair and dress he asked him polite to stop doing that. Will let me me tell you he didnt give a $#!+ and started beating him and the security black guy defend him instead of us... its the worst experience of my life you should be careful what u u are getting into especially if you not prepard...
Employee in the red trench coat that works at the front door was incredibly rude and was way too familiar when giving me a pat down. If it happens again, Im suing.
I love the churchs atmosphere. Price and quality depends on the show.
Literally took my coat last night. I paid them $5 to put my coat in coat check and by the end of the night I was being kicked into the cold and told they didn’t have my coat when I know for fact it’s there. Probably going to alert police or somebody since this is theft of a $160 coat
Loved visiting this place as often as possible. Great food, and music.Someone mentioned the rude security, that was true the last time I went. Just stay away from them.
My favorite nightclub in Denver hands down. I love the setting of the old rustic church, it just has so much history to it. My favorite nights are global Fridays because the place is always bumping.
My friend rolled his eyes at security because he was letting people cut. He then pulled my friend out of line, yelled at him while asking how high he was and if he even knows what’s going on. Friend was just standing there. Ended up saying nah you can’t come in come back I’m an our.So accusatory, and just rude
$80 to get in for 2 people, ripped drink out of my hand, surprisingly they kicked us our EARLY, we had BARELY got in.
