OYO Hotel Douglas GA US-441

I was on an overnight solo trip so I could recharge. I drove five hours so I could enjoy a local state park day. Upon pulling in I was very anxious I had made a mistake. There are a lot of dirty and neglected areas. Trash. Unkempt. The desk clerk was very nice. He was friendly and welcoming. The lobby is very unkempt and messy. Upon leaving and realizing my room is right in front of a group of workers I was a little uneasy. They were camped out right in front of my door. One worker had to move her phone playing music off my window sill as I was swiping my room key. Then the room…🤦🏼‍♀️😭everything is dirty. Everything. The door didn’t properly close so I could hear everything they were saying. The bed was dirty, tables were dirty, bathroom was dirty- also 1/3 roll of toilet paper. No extras. Smears in the toilet. Dirty footprints on the door. Dirty shower. Dirty carpet. Cigarette burns on the bedding. The adjoining room upon inspection I couldn’t get the lock to fully engage. I didn’t feel safe. I left within ten minutes and just cried. I would not stay again… and pay attention to the “no refund” sign in the lobby. 😞 I’m out 67$.

Harry is an absolute LEGEND. He assisted with our booking in the middle of the night, on CHRISTMAS, and booked us into a clean, comfortable room. So impressed. Surprised at any negative reviews as our experience was perfection. 5/5 would definitely recommend. Exceptional service and excellent accommodations. If going through Douglas again, will absolutely stay with pleasure. Cannot say enough good things. Well done!

This place is disgusting. I am experienced in hospitality on being an assistant supervisor in housekeeping. And Ive seen my fair share of rooms in various places. The false advertisement should shut this place down automatically. I wouldnt come here if I had to get out of bad weather. It smelled like cigarettes. There were BUGS in the window seal, bugs in the bed, and shower. The toilet wasnt clean. The blanket on the bed was completely dirty with stains as well as the towels. Shower curtin had moldy mildew and stains on it. The refrigerator was nasty as well as the microwave. I understand that this isnt a 5-star hotel, but please please please please dont use false advertising to get peoples money. Because this was the worst place Ive ever seen. NO STARS AND NO LIKES. JUST VERY DISAPPOINTING AND HUMILIATING 🤢🤬🤯🤮😡😡

My friend and I stayed there in Oct. The location was good considering it was in the middle of town but I will never stay at this place ever again there was no toilet paper and the place smelled like weed never ever stay there again.

Awful— the sheets had cigarette burns in them, the mattress was disgusting, the water was brown when we turned on (we brushed our teeth with bottle water), the tub was so bad that I would not even bathe my granddaughter (my daughter showered in flip flops bc she didn’t want her feet to touch the tub lol) We arrived after midnight, and unfortunately had to stay or we would have kept driving and found something else even tho I booked in advance. I wish I would have taken pics of the mattress and sheets

I stayed here for extended stay, the staff is very lovely. Haresh and Ginny are very personable and great! I love the fact that they take care of their guests. The room was beautiful and very clean. Not at all what I was expecting for a hotel this cheap! I was much better then I thought it would be. The parking lot was clean and very well lit at night. There was not any noise there that is annoying personally to me, so that was great. They had stocked soda machines. The office was beautiful with the curtains and fish tank. All around a very pleasant experience for me! 5 Star from me! A lot of these people giving bad reviews cant spell or use proper English. Maybe lets not listen to them. Just saying. Maybe they are mad they got thrown out. 🤷

STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY from this place. The building is completely runned down, building looks in unsafe conditions. This place should be demoslished by code enforcement. Checked in and this place was a total mess. Had to leave right away and find a room in the holiday inn in town. Toilet was dirty and sprinkled with $hit from previous visitor. There was mold in the shower. The shower was completely dirty. Towels were dirty. Bed sheets and pillow cases smelled bad and hadn’t been replaced from previous guests. The carpet in the rrom looked filthy dirty and full of old stuck bubble gum. TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE place to stay. I ended up loosing the $70 that I paid to online for the booking amd went to the other hotel. All these reviews stating that the rroms are freshly done amd that they are new and clean, must be reviews that they write themselves or have friends or family write for them because the whole place is a total $hit hole. I wish I would have read the reviews before I booked the room. I’ve been through out the whole united states and stayed in many many hotels and motels on trips and by far this is the worst hotel ever. Everyhing people write on the bad reviews is true. None of it is false. My little daughter who is only 5 years old started crying as soon as we walked into the room saying that it was dirty and that the hotel looked haunted and it was scary. Even a 5 year old noticed how dirty the place is. STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY STAY AWAY TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE TERRIBLE and they won’t give you your money back

Dirty rooms, there is moldy mattresses sitting around outside. You have to walk around broken down old appliances to get to your room. Everything is covered in mold. No towels or toilet paper in our room. Walls and ceilings are falling apart. RUDE Arab owner told us we could park a trailer in the back lot, and then woke us up at MIDNIGHT to tell us he was going to call the cops on us for it being there. Save a few bucks and stay ANYWHERE else.

HARRY KEEPS ALL RIFF RAFF OUT! NICE, SAFE, CLEAN, AND QUIET PLACE TO LODGE FOR FAR LESS MONEY THAN ANYWHERE ELSE IN TOWN! I came from East Tennessee down here for business and Harry has been nothing but excellent the whole time absolutely accommodating to me and my fellow crew members, just simply one red blooded American running a business the way it ought to be thank you Harry for the wonderful stay! WE WILL MOST DEFINITELY BE BACK HERE! GOD BLESS YOU HARRY AND KEEP CARRYING A HEAVY STICK 😜!!!

Clean, safe and friendly staff. It was busy with several guests hanging around outside, which concerned us at first glance because we have our two children with us, but then we realized most are farm workers staying here during the season. Room was clean and very roomy. Could use an upgrade on the number and quality of towels received, but for the price, it was a great place to rest after a long day of travel.

This place is disgusting! Do not waste your money. Rude customer service, Indian or Arab dude will not give money back. Building is ran down. Mold in the pool, mold in the hotel. Disgusting! And the housekeepers steal out your room! Pathetic place.

Very filthy hotel...I advise you to sleep in your car if its your last resort because this hotel is unsanitary and owner is rude...has 2 big great dains that he expects you to not be scared of...very worse hotel ever...cockroaches Nats other unidentified bugs crawling everywhere, when asked to exchange rooms. Owner says you get what u paid for...very nasty attitude towards a new guest who paid for 6 nights stay...it was closer to my boyfriend job...Thank God we was up and out of there after 1 night stay....glad to be back home in atlanta....Coffee Coffee is not a friendly place. Save your money and gas and proceed to the next closest town.

Looked nothing like it did online... The wifi didnt work. Room had no iron only half roll of toilet paper was in it wen I checked in. Lobby smelled like dog. Big dogs just running around. Wish I could get a refund

Was nothing close to what it looked like online trash piled up outside everywhere no parking people coming and going all night long music loud as can be even the woman working there told me to allways keep my deadbolt locked because it was a bad neighborhood. I travel the country for work and by far the dirtiest nasty rundown place Ive ever stayed there staff was very friendly that was the only positive thing I can say for my stay

Scam ! Scam! You call the number pay for the room ! You get there and the front desk says you didn’t pay then they tell you that they don’t have any room available to call the number. Then they just walk away! Okay I will call the credit card company and stop payment!

Not only was the gentleman at the office friendly, but there was an issue with the TV in one room he was quick to fix it so I could enjoy the TV offered! The Rooms were not expensive with all the amenities they offered!! Huge Breakfast choices from eggs, sausage, English muffins, Danish, fresh made Belgium waffles, coffee!! Would Definitely recommend this motel 10x over!!!!

Stayed at this place back in Oct 2021, Walked in and it looked clean, until I walked into the bathroom and seen two dead roaches. There was no toilet paper in the room. There was only two nasty looking towels and one washcloth. Paking spaces are too small especially if you have a full size truck or SUV.I later found out through locals that the hotel is in a very rough part of town. I wouldnt recommend this hotel to anyone.

They went out of their way to fix my reservation and worked with me to get in a room in the middle of the night they are amazing!! (Was traveling with disabled person too) 10/10 would recommend

I love staying at this hotel, the owners are wonderful people and I love their dogs. When I go to Douglas GA I always stay here. Great place with great people.

Room was worn and metal was rusty. Freezer in refrigerator needed defrosted badly. Most of plug sockets were in such bad shape that chargers for our cell phones would not stay plugged in.This motel needs to be shut down. Worst motel we have ever stayed in.

This is the worst place Ive been. The hotel requires major renovation, the walls and roof are collapsing. Where the city authorities are looking. The descriptions on all sites of the photo do not correspond to reality. Bedbugs and mold attack you all the time you are in the room. This is Worse than a homeless shelter.

THIS PLACE IS RUN BY THIEVES!!! My fault for not checking my booking dates before arriving a day early, but when speaking with the man at the window he said that there was nothing he could do, so I asked him to cancel the PRE-PAID reservation, because the number he gave me was not working...he ASSURED me that the cancelation was being done at that moment and that I would receive a full refund in two days, BUT HE LIED!!! I got a email that said I was a no show (he marked me as not showing up at all) and was not eligible for a refund!!! PLEASE DO NOT GIVE THIS COMPANY YOUR BUSINESS!!! THIEVES and LIARS!!!!

Save your money and do NOT stay at this hotel. They are falsely advertising that they are a Days Inn but they are NOT a Days Inn or affiliated with Days Inn at all. They will overcharge you and when you check out 4 days early due to the filth of this place, they will NOT refund a single day even though you CHECKED OUT. I booked 5 rooms for contractors for my company for 4 nights each. One room checked out after one day and 4 rooms checked out after two days but they still charged my card for 5 rooms for 4 nights each for a total of $880 overcharge!!!!!!!! They refused any kind of refund! I uploaded the pictures of where they expected someone to be comfortable sleeping and if CONTRACTORS couldnt handle how nasty it was, then you know its bad. The hotel refused them clean towels and sheets. It is currently under investigation by Days Inn Corporate since they are falsely using their name. You have been warned!!!! Run from this place, its GROSS and the management is TERRIBLE and RUDE!!!! They are thieves!

The staff Ginny and Harry are the most wonderful people Ive ever met all the rumors of this hotel is false its very quiet I feel safe I love being here .Rooms are all redone nice and clean the owners are really strict about who comes here i feel safe here being disabled if i was visiting Douglas i would recommend staying here the rumors if this hotel is a lie

Worst place I have ever been to in my entire life absolutely a death trap that should be demolished they have bed bugs roaches and rat’s running around in the rooms ! The board of health needs to pay a visit and shut this place down immediately before someone gets seriously sick or injured!!!

I had to wait 45 minutes for someone to get back from a 30 minute break. I have already paid for four night. I’m 5 hours away from home.

This hotel is NOT CLOSED! It certainly isnt a Days Inn franchise either! DO NOT EVEN CONSIDER THIS PLACE!!! Room stunk like an ashtray, everything was dirty, everything. toilet seat cracked in half, headboard leaning on bed, broken, no coffee in room or at office, no nothing. Parking lot was unlit and was full of shady people just walking around, hanging out on the stairs talking really loud. Didnt even take the luggage in. Noped on outta there in two minutes. Went three miles further south and found all kinds of clean real hotels for about $5 more!

Its now called the Douglas Inn and it makes the benton motel look great. It was very dirty, has bed bugs, and when we asked for a refund all they did was switch us from room to room all night. It is roach infested and they are very rude. It needs to be closed down and bull dozed to the ground. I am definitely going to the necessary people to have this hotel torn down.

I gave this hotel a five-star rating because while its not the fanciest place and not brand-new, its clean, its the only hotel within reasonably short walking distance from downtown Douglas, it has a great manager who was extremely helpful and kind, and its far cheaper than any place else in town. A five-night stay extending over a weekend from Thursday night to Tuesday morning was only $309.75 — only a little more than more than $60 per night including taxes!My main reason for traveling to Douglas, Georgia was to attend a concert at the Martin Centre. This historic Art Deco theater is only 0.6 miles away from the hotel and there was also a great restaurant along my walking route, Cow Tippers Burger Company. If you like fast food (I dont, but to each their own), theres a KFC right across the street from the hotel.Suffice it to say that this hotel would be my first choice for lodging if I have reason to travel to Douglas, Georgia again. However, if you are prissy and picky, need a fancy sparkling new hotel, and dont care if it costs a fortune you might want to go elsewhere. I say that because I am sick to death of that sort of guest criticizing perfectly nice hotels.

Owner is very helpful, room was spotless, they are really fixing up this place since the last time I’ve been here. They also have the nicest sweetest dog there. Overall I would come back and stay anytime.💯

I spent two nights in this hotel, I was completely bitten by bugs. Mold inside the rooms. There is a huge dog at the reception who is released as soon as you want to make any complaints. It was a terrible experience.

This hotel was horrible. Rooms are disgusting. Service was horrible. Indian guy behind desk was super rude towards his customers. Even also cheated a customer out of money and kicked the guy out the property.

Was awful...no remote..could only get one channel.. The towels was dirty..the pillow cases was dingy..the tub wasnt properly cleaned..didnt feel comfortable at all...

I didnt know the entire hotel is smoking. The parking isnt very good. The beds are extremely low to the ground.

Please do not use this hotel until they take hygiene measures! It is a thousand times better to sleep in your vehicle than in this place! Dont even consider it for an emergency! It is better to sleep on the street than in this neglected hotel! The man at the reception is very friendly but the hotel is the worst that my eyes have ever seen! It is better to sleep in your vehicle than here!

This place is terrible, on the page it looks very good, but when you arrive and see it it is something completely different, it looks bad on the outside and inside, it is a dirty floor in the corners of the room, I didnt like it at all, I would never return to that place .
