Phenomenal shows at reasonable prices! the atmosphere is very tasteful, and they do a great job of shielding out the downtown noise/chaos. the cocktails are creative and well-balanced; food is on the pricy side but good. staff are super courteous and went above and beyond to make me comfortable as a solo attendee! highly recommend :)
A great venue for a live performance. Not too loud, mostly under 100dB, meaning you can carry on a conversation with your partner or party and with your waiter. The early show has the possibility of a dinner. The menu for drinks, wine, appetizers and entrees is diverse and everything we had was excellent. Recommended!
This was the best part of my entire Seattle trip. It is a MUST visit when in Seattle. One of the longest running jazz clubs in the nation. An amazing and cozy layout. I didn’t have a ticket or reservation for a very busy show. The host found me a great spot and wasn’t snooty about it. I didn’t really eat there other than a Mediterranean snack platter(which was great) so I can’t comment to the quality of food. But my server was amazing. I loved every minute of it. They had Karrin Allyson featured and she was amazing!!!! Will for sure be back.
Beautiful place and atmosphere. We sat at table 142 and had a good view of the stage. The audio engineering and acoustics were perfect. Everything sounded so natural. The price of the drinks are reasonable.Though, I would rather eat at another place if you considered ordering food here as I would not justify the price for a mediocre selection. If you appreciate jazz and want to treat yourself to a fancy night out, I’d recommend coming to Dimitriou’s Jazz Alley.⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Jazz Alley has been a Seattle staple since 1980. It is a place to enjoy concerts in a very intimate setting. The name itself would imply that you try to dress as though youre going to a place from olden times. Like your stepping onto the set of Cotton Club or Harlem Heat. However, sadly, a lot of people in Seattle havent left the grunge Era yet. There was a person there in P.J. bottoms & crocs. CROCS, I say! However, thats not the clubs fault, so lets focus more on it. Upon entering, you have a commanding view of the stage & most of the restaurant. It is nearly half moon shaped, which only adds to the intimacy. If you dont want to eat in the dark, Id advise you to get there an hour before showtime. My calamari was good, but my pork chop was a little disappointing. Good but small. The band had to make its way through the crowd, which was VERY cool & if youre a fan, it will make you starstruck. All in all, it was a wonderful night out.
This venue is absolutely stunning! It just feels cool and luxurious and the sound is crystal, very impressive. A gem of Seattle for sure.Ive had the pleasure of seeing my dear friend Darliene Parker sing with the legendary King of Sax Maceo Parker here on two occasions and it never disappoints. We usually have dinner somewhere in the area and do drinks at Jazz Alley before the show. This means you might not be as close to the stage but when I say no seat is a bad seat at Jazz Alley I mean it!THE BEST PART: FREE PARKING in their covered parking garage right around the corner. Bring your parking tickets for validation.Easy entry, no refunds but easy transfers!Hot Tip: The Bar Stools facing away from the stage have no backs and low feet rungs for short people so keep that in mind. Otherwise its a fun place to sit.Late April 2024 We took in an incredible night of music with The Willie Jones III Sextext, they tore it up but when Christie Dashiell came on to sing?! Woo, we couldnt EVEN!! Shes incredible. I Love celebrating Black excellence/culture.
Went on my birthday and got a cute card as a souvenir! Think this will be my tradition moving forward. Gorgeous venue with intimate seating. Dinner and wine menu was stellar. I sat right next to the stage and it almost wouldn’t have mattered because the sound quality can be heard from the bathroom! High quality jazz and a vibe that can’t be matched. Plus, parking was close and validated. I love this place.
We enjoyed ourselves at the Jazz Alley in Seattle. My wife and I were in attendance at the 7pm show for an Acoustic Alchemy concert a few weeks ago. The room is well designed and I wouldnt think theres a bad seat in the house. Its a Jazz Supper club, and though we had eaten a hearty afternoon meal we werent too famished and ate lite fare. As the menu was enticing.Ill be looking on their schedule for other opportunities to come to their fair city again in the cool of their summer to see a performance again. We Thank the staff for their courteousness as Our server was very helpful.
Absolutely amazing!! Chris Botti concert blew me away! Everyone gave me goosebumps!! Lord have mercy!! It had variety, it embodied all emotions from sad, to happy and laughing, to chill and all the artists had me in awe! Every. Single. One. And as always, Jaz Alley is the place to be and the food was fabulous!! ❤️❤️❤️
Good price for event, expect to pay $40+ additional if you get the dinner reservation and drinks (mixed are $15+). Food tastes good (seafood gumbo & cornbread )& liked the drink (old fashioned house styled).Amazing show - Mindi Abair and group were super engaging+ looked like having so much fun themselves
Food was too fast I wouldve preferred to eat during the meal. I felt rushed by the wait staff to hurry up and order and hurry up and eat.The prices were expensive but the food not up to quality expected for the prices. Also we put the order in and the food was there in less than 5 minutes.Atmosphere was great. Really appreciated the view from seats in the ticket purchasing matrixStaff was amazing from from door to wait staff and bussers were amazing
Absolutely loved it! Was my first time going to Jazz Alley and as a 20-something I was nervous on what the atmosphere would be like, but was met with a wonderful (and not uptight) waitstaff and energetic crowd. It was a good mix of casual and a fancy which made it approachable but special! Can’t wait to go back.
Good old fashioned supper club for jazz 🎷 🎺 🎶. I am so grateful there is still one around. These guys manage to attract great artists (big ones) who love to connect with their fans in intimate settings the old-fashioned way, and this place is the spot. We drive up from Vancouver BC to watch all our favorite artists and have never been disappointed in 20 years. The food is good, the staff are great. Parking is free and there is not a bad seat in the house. Go on their website and check out their calendar for the lineup of artists coming up. Its incredible if you love jazz.
The space feels so cozy and moody, it compliments the great musical guests perfectly! The food and the drinks are also very reasonable and delicious! Such a great date night location!
This is our new favorite venue! Gorgeous, intimate, and welcoming! Weve attended 2 events and have a 3rd scheduled - the food is very good and the pricing is comparable with other downtown restaurants. The staff are really wonderful and attentive, and the venue itself is clean and comfortable. We love an opportunity to get dressed up and experience new types of music.
It had been a while since I had visited this place, but my friend suggested we attend a jazz night last Friday, and Im so grateful she did. I had forgotten how delightful and charming this place can be. The ambiance was delightful, the service was excellent, and the venue was simply fantastic. Additionally, the food and drinks were scrumptious. While it may not be an inexpensive spot, it is undoubtedly a perfect place to spend a pleasant evening with friends or have a lovely date night.
I love Jazz Alley! If youre on the first level, you are at the same level as the band and it feels great to experience the music in this way! The food is excellent and I believe all seats offer table service for food and drink. Theres not really a bad seat in the venue, but if you spend a little more, you can get right by the stage! Nearby Amazon parking is free on the weekends and in the evenings and theres a lot nearby if you want to grab a drink somewhere or just stretch your legs. The staff at Jazz Alley is really nice, professional and yet still down-to-earth. I highly recommend catching a show and a meal here!
I am really sorry to write this review but this was our experience at Jazz alley. I love to support local businesses but our experience wasnt great here. We came during back to Chicago tour in end of November. We came 1 hour in advance since it was recommended but we decided not to have a meal there because this is not healthy food that I am used to. Most of dishes were heavy or deep fried. Coming from California this menu looks like 90s to me, I looked photos of food prior coming which had lack of presentation to it and very simple options. Everything looked very outdated the seats, the decor, the stage, including the food menu. Also crowd in their mid 50s I would say. Which is not bad but its not exactly what I expected. We ordered 2 chardonnays that we couldnt finish it felt like some house wine. Our seats were at the balcony high boots with good visibility. Unfortunately, we didnt like music at all, lead singer couldnt pick up high notes as a person with music background from Europe this was difficult to listen. However, I like local trumpet group that was invited, also pianist and Saxophone had a great solos. Overall I dont think I would come again I dont think that younger generation like myself in the late 20s would be interested. They need to do some serious upgrade including the menu options to attract younger crowd if they want to stay in business.
This place is absolutely amazing! Our first time here and we saw Kenny G and he was breathtaking. Jazz Alley has two great options for parking which is a plus, and to make it better, they validate your ticket so your parking is free. Walking up, I noticed the great food rating on door (huge plus for us!) Walking in, they ask for your name, give you your dinner receipt (if ordered dinner) and tell you where your table is. Its dimmly lit, warm setting, soft music playing. Some tables are tight but it works - definitely not complaining! The waiters/waitresses are great at being attentive to their tables. The menu was perfect - had plenty of options for each : Appetizers, salads, Entrees, desserts, etc. Menu is well priced! I cant even begin to describe the food!!! Hands down, THE BEST!!!!! I recommend the chicken! Melts in your mouth! Veggies and potatoes were perfectly cooked. I cant stop bragging about the food! I definitely want to come back more often to see other performances now. Thank you for having us and sending out such great detailed instructions.
We went to see Kenny G . I was not expecting much in way of food or service, boy was I pleasantly surprised. We both had the, steak salad. Cooked perfectly. My only complaint was the meat was not as hit as I expected. Our waiter was very attentive without being overly hovering. The sound system is amazing! I will definitely be back!
We love going to shows at Dimitrious Jazz Alley. The atmosphere is amazing and the food is delicious. We were pleased to see that they had vegan options available for some of the members of our party. The staff are friendly and accommodating. They do an amazing job. Wonderful venue for a Saturday night out or special event.
My husband and I love to attend shows here. We’ve seen three to date and have enjoyed great cocktails, desserts and ambience each time. Boney James was incredible - Jazz Alley gets amazing guests. In my opinion, even if you don’t love jazz or know jazz music well, you’ll enjoy yourself. Conveniently located in the heart of downtown Seattle with easy parking and access to bars and restaurants before or after shows as well.
Great jazz in an excellent venue. The 3 piece band were outstanding delivering intricate piano, double bass, and drums jazz. The service is highly efficient and the food is served very promptly. We attended on a Saturday night for the 6:30pm session. The food was of an acceptable standard however one suspects that the speed of delivery had an impact on the quality. Be sure to finish your drinks by the time the band finishes. You are expected to leave immediately thereafter to enable the next sitting! A nice touch is the complimentary parking at Westin Parking. Have your parking ticket stamped at Jazz Alley and it’s no charge when you leave the car park. All up, a most enjoyable evening.
43 Years! Ive been coming to Dimitrious since I was a high school senior because it has always been the epitome of NW classy cool. I almost always come early, enjoy the dinner before, sit close (theres really not a bad seat anywhere) and FEEL the artist. My latest visit was Jon Cleary & the Absolute Monster Gentleman. Damn. What a great show of funked-up NOLA all wrapped up in an English package. I could go on, but a few pix tell the story 😎👍
Excellent experience at Jazz Alley to see Leo Kottke. As always, the customer comes first at Jazz Alley. From the easy parking arrangements, to the easy, friendly check in and seating, to a perfect dinner menu and excellent food. On top of all that, seeing any act here is an intimate experience no matter where you sit. Five Stars isnt enough!
My first time at Jazz Alley and my first time experiencing Meshell Ndegeocello and her band perform live. Justin Hicks from her band was also the opening act. His voice and music is absolutely lovely. Beautiful romantic venue and amazing performance with good food and great service. Didn’t eat dinner, but really enjoyed the NY cheesecake with Oregon strawberry sauce and whipped cream.
Went here for the first time to see blood sweat and tears. Parking is validated at a nearby parking garage on 5th. We went to the 930pm show and it was mind blowing amazing. The food, the music, the service and atmosphere. I’m kicking myself for not going here sooner. We had the bread, house salad, ny steak and shrimp and grits between the two of us. Sooooo good! Service was impeccable, not a bad seat in the house! What a great night!
I saw Kenny G for new years and was definitely awesome. The venue was perfect, small but definitely not cramped, and provided a great view from all seats. The food was excellent too, I would actually go back just for it, regardless of the actual event, it was that good!
This place is such a gem. Surprised my husband for a date night and he had such a great time. The veggie lasagna is a must try. The drinks a bit pricey but tasty. Rob was super nice and welcomed us back anytime.
This place is PHENOMENAL!!! It was my first time in Seattle, and I was looking for fun things to do. I like jazz, and I decided to buy a ticket at the last minute to see the Bob James Quartet. Let me tell you... I am happy I made the purchase! The waitstaff is friendly, the food is delicious (I ordered chicken piccata, the soup du jour, and molten chocolate lava cake), the sound was top notch, and the band was amazing. I give extra kudos to the saxophone player and drummer. Stop by. Im sure you wont be disappointed.
Love love loved the place. Great music and good food. The ambience was decadent and waitstaff friendly. Try getting there early so you are done with dinner by the time show starts amd you can be immersed in the music. A great girls night out or date night place , and dress code is casual to dress to the nines, your choice.
It’s a fantastic venue that is so much fun and has delicious food! We had the yummy calamari, steak and prime rib *chefs kiss*. The atmosphere was welcoming for young and older folks. Kind and attentive staff too. José Feliciano is such an impressive performer and really knows how to make a crowd feel right at home. Can’t wait to come back.
Great atmosphere. Tables are small for dinner, but the intimate setting is nice. Just remember to pay attention to the website about what parking garage to use. Its NOT the garage at the Westin Hotel. Its the Westing BUILDING garage off of 5th Ave.
We went for the performance of Ranky Tanky and Lisa Fisher. The performance was great, but that aside, the whole experience was wonderful. From very pleasant conversation with front desk when reserving, to easy parking, to good food and good wine - all of it was memorable.
My husband booked the Tower of Power online six months ago. The show starts at 7:30 pm, but we wanted to eat dinner, so we went at 6:00 pm when the store opened.I encourage everyone to enter early. The service is very good and I like the atmosphere. We ordered a lavender cocktail and a Tom Collins.Cocktails were delicious. After that we ordered Fresh petrale sole parmesan and Chicken piccata. We tried eating and comparing, but the fish tasted better. The accompanying vegetables were also delicious. It was about 7:00 when we finished eating. By that time it was almost full and the staff was busy coming and going. Again, everyone should come early! We enjoyed Tower of Power live music. It was a great performance and good music. Finally, lets all dress up a bit.
Classy! Great food! Great service! Every seat is a good seat. We took our young adult kids and their partners and they got it on how special the experience was.
A rare jewel - great place with great ambience. Very intimate feel. No cover charge (at least when you buy dinner). Dinner was good (not great) and a bit overpriced if you were just getting dinner. But when you factor in the free entertainment, its a good deal! We need more places like this in the world!!
The music is always five stars. But the food is more like two. It may taste ok, but it has made me sick every time I have gone. I have to stick to tickets that dont require eating. The one time I went and didnt eat with my group because I was feeling nauseous, I was treated very rudely about it. I get that the tables are for dining, but people do get sick and dont feel up to it. The management that day was seriously unprofessional!
Really enjoyed GoGoPenguin on the opening night, shows themselves (sound, layout, service) are always excellent here. Just wish food menu & wine list were better, would be nice if they were more interesting, to match the quality of the music
This place was freakin COOL. The atmosphere was exquisite, and that gorgeous Steinway piano on stage is to die for. Not to mention the outstanding food. Even my wife, whos not super into jazz, had a delightful time. Cant wait to come back.
Walt Wagner Trio was incredible!Food was good, a little pricey, but that’s SLU for you.Great atmosphere.
Although I dont live in the northwest, every time Im in Seattle I try catch a show here. On this visit we saw Poncho Sanchez. Showed up 10 minutes before the doors opened without reservations or tickets. Staff is totally helpful and happy to greet us in. Fun selection of drinks and the desserts were just right. My previous experience with their food has always been positive. Awesome venue to watch any Entertainer in a very intimate environment. As a musician and sound engineer, the audible experience is Heavenly Bliss to my ears. The sound and acoustics are perfectly balanced to deliver an exquisite Studio sound over the live performance. Its the closest thing to being in a studio with a tableside dinner and a small crowd surrounding. Really is a great experience. Highly recommend.
Best jazz place in the Seattle area. The ambience of the place is fantastic and has a cozy high class vibe to it. Sound quality was excellent and the performers are not too far no matter where you sit.
We had dinner before the performance, the food was great, our server was efficient and friendly. Our seats did not have a good view, but I should have reserved sooner. The sound was awesome. Jazz Alley even validated my parking. Best evening out in a long time.
When I mentioned that I was in Seattle, it was recommended that I check out this place. Glad I did Take 6, an acapella group was performing and I was treated to a melody of songs from their over 30 years of performances. It’s a nice venue, no matter who’s performing. Dinner, drinks and entertainment night out.
Always amazing groups. Good service and food is usually good. Come here for the continuous list of headliners you’ve always wanted to catch!
The Jazz Alley brings in world class music performances, but thats just the tip of the iceberg. The food is great, service is friendly, professional, and quick, feels intimate enough and with low noise levels allowing for conversation (when the performers are not playing obviously:) ) and parking arrangements make it accessible by car of coming from out of town.Great experience all around!
Best Jazz club in the Seattle area. They mix Jazz / Funk / Blues / Smooth Jazz band appearances. All of the bands are very appreciative of the venue. Also, free parking in downtown Seattle!
Great venue to see some live music! As one of the people that bought a table directly in front of the band I would suggest getting one a bit further back so you can see better. I never thought you could sit “too close”. We followed the review and arrived at 6:30 so we could eat before a 7:30 show..not needed. The food arrived but we still had 30 minutes until the band. The food was meh and overpriced. Everything I ordered was swimming in either grease or olive oil. I would suggest getting one of the tables upstairs. You don’t have to be there when doors open and maybe just get drinks & dessert and enjoying the show. Go for the show & cocktails, not the menu.
Great place to enjoy Jazz with a restaurant as well. Only part I didnt care for is that the restaurant only serves during the show (at least the late seating), so if youre enjoying a romantic dinner, youre on the clock: get in, order, watch and eat, and leave. But still a great experience with great music.
My goodness. Seattle is fortunate to have such a fine Jazz Club as Dimitriou’s. We’ve been coming here for years and this time I just had to put in a review. The staff is organized and friendly. They move you right in and get you to your table quickly and with a smile. The room is fantastic but you need to book early to get a good view which is 90% of the tables. This visit we were both surprised at how good the food was. Make no mistake. You will spend a lot of money if you have a full dinner here but it is quite good. And Chris Botti and friends were absolutely wonderful. Beautiful performances and beautiful sound. A memorable evening. Dimitriou’s and staff know how to do it.
Nostalgia, California Transit Authority.Boy was I feeling it, they brought the energy and I fell into that layer of bliss. Saw them in Vegas 17 years ago for 60th birthday present, last year at Chateau St. Michelle with daughter. Younger couple sitting next to me late 20s, must have moved the needle for them a bit and was nice to see (Mexican, Portuguese young man and his female partner of Indian descent). Music bridges generational and ethnicity, just beautiful. Intimate setting, 3rd time was priceless!
Excellent venue for avid jazz fans. A small and intimate venue with no bad seats in the house. I sat at the bar (about 40-50 feet from the stage) for an excellent performance by Jane Monheit. The entrance is in the side alley (not the door facing the the street). This is not an inexpensive place but if you are a avid jazz fan or really want to see the artist it is worth it. Jane gave an excellent performance and met some members of the audience after the show to sign CDs and was very warm and friendly. A pretty good night at the Jazz Alley.
Talented artist, great waitstaff, the food always so good. The food is pricey but its worth it. I would have given this place a 5-star but the inside part of the building needs renovation.
The performance was perfect. However there is a brief mention at the beginning of performances here to please refrain from pictures and video that is not enforced strictly enough. Its very disrespectful to see mature adults disregard this request. There needs to be a warning about phone use at the door entry and a fine added to the tables that violate. Also didnt care for being sat near the kitchen for the performance there was a lot of disruption from dishes clanking, the kitchen and the staff talking.
Great seats, great service, and a great crowd. It was our first time seeing Ranky Tanky and they did not disappoint. We go to Jazz Alley about 6 times a year.
Beautiful, intimate venue. Not a bad seat in the house. The wait staff are wonderful. The food, corn clam chowder, warm baguette, lasagna~all delicious. Seated right next to the stage I thoroughly enjoyed nouveau flamenco Ottmar Liebert and Luna Negra. Free, covered, secure parking at two locations in short walking distance from Jazz Alley. Just a fabulous evening. Cant wait to return!
Wonderfully intimate. The food and service was better than I remembered before the plague. Kind of pricey but the music was sublime.
My birthday dinner was fantastic! Waitstaff was more MIA than I expected. Event was on time and Peabo Brysons performance was really good. There was a bit of patron drama when a guests hair ignited! It lead our group to speculate that drama may have prevented a Peabo encore--especially if the song would have been Feel the Fire.
There was small talks and laugh of staffs that didnt care about customers focusing on performance near entrance. The flow was missed by tap water was turned hard to recieve water for 30sec. There always was a little noise mixed with performance, I felt rather lively. but,,Even if its cheap I dont recommand Bar stool seat at all for the performance.
First, sorry I don’t have any pictures of the meals, they are great too. But the entertainment is next level. First impression, gives you speak easy dungeon vibes, you get in and is this huge space. The drinks are great don’t think I have a favorite, but for my meal I always get the same thing shrimp pasta ☺️☺️..
We had our hotel call in advance to ask regarding the lineups for none-reservations. The information relayed to us was “show up and line up for the show at 7:30pm and we will operate at a first come first serve basis. So we head out for dinner at Le Pichet, and cut our dinner time short so that we could be at the Jazz club and form a line 30 mins in advance. When we arrived, we asked the lady at the front (Laura) and she said the same thing as we were told earlier. We were the FIRST in line and patiently waited. More individuals showed up —a father with two children and three other groups of 2 like us. Fast forward to 7:45, lady exits and asks the father and three children to enter. Even though they had come AFTER us, they were let in before us. Then we were sure we were next. No. A group of two after us gets a text saying come on in. When confronted, Laura told us these were “special circumstances”. And “the manager preferred the group of 3 to take an empty table rather than a group of 2.” After waiting some more, we were told it was FULL. When asked for an explanation regarding why we were told to stand in line and first come first serve, those others were treated more specially, we were not given an answer. We requested to speak with a manager and he immediately offers us to come in free of charge, but we must stand and watch the show—at which point half the show was over. Never asked what was wrong, did not own up or take accountability for the special treatment situation that happened, disregarded our wasted time, and immediately jumped to offering us a solution that was especially degrading to our dignity—“why dont you stand a watch the show from up here… and I wont charge you.” No I don’t think so.
The vibe of this place is unreal! We went to watch Arturo Sandoval and had an amazing time. The sound system is divine and the music more so.The service was absolutely top notch. The staff is incredible. I ordered a dessert which turned out to be different that what Id expected - I thought Id get a combination of ice cream AND sorbet, when it was actually a choice between the two (totally my bad because I read the menu incorrectly). The server clarified this, but a few minutes later, also brought out an extra scoop of sorbet for no charge. Its the little things that go a long way and this was such a kind gesture!Food is quite expensive and had very limited vegan/vegetarian options (2 entrées and around 4-5 starters). If youre vegetarian/vegan, I would not recommend the food as it was quite mediocre. But overall, it was an incredible experience. Perfect for a date night, or if you love jazz, or both! 10/10 would recommend.
BEWARE OF POLICIES: Over the years, we have always loved DJA as a favorite venue for our live music fix. Over Covid, we received a $202 voucher and were able to call and use it no problem. We received another voucher for $402 and when I called to use it for ticket purchases under $200, I was reminded that it can only be redeemed for tickets, no food, drinks, etc, and no carry over, just a one-time use. We were advised we might want to wait until a higher value show came up where we could use all or close to all of the value of the voucher. We have seen quite a few shows in the meantime but either the value was lower or we didn’t want to risk losing out on seats by waiting for someone to be in the office the next day so that we could redeem our voucher. There is no option to enter a voucher # for payment, you have to call during office hours. Fast forward to today, we went to use our $404 voucher and were told sorry, it had expired, and no exceptions. Apparently there are vouchers that expire and others that dont. Our first one said No Expiry so we didnt even think to look at the second one to check for an expiry date. I understand that they have a policy in place, but IMO when you pay for a service, if you dont receive that service, your credit SHOULD NOT EXPIRE. Money is tight everywhere, and that $404 is over $500 for us faithful Canadian patrons. We would have been happy to receive even a half credit, but nope, general manager (who weve chatted with on many occasions, a fella that always recognizes and greets us) said no exceptions. Were gonna miss you Jazz Alley. 😔
There is no doubt the Jazz aspect of Jazz Alley is top notch. They do a great job with the sound system, the artists sound great. The stage is close to the people and it makes for a great experience. My reason for 4 stars is the food is mediocre. The club sits literally blocks from some of the best seafood in the country and top notch butcher shop at Pike Place. Frankly the food is almost cafeteria food IMHO (yes, everyone has their own opinion). Would love to see the club step up to fine dining with farm to table, what a huge opportunity.[04/28/2024] - I need to update my earlier review. The food and menu have definitely improved IMHO on our last few trips. My hat is off to the club for that. The acts, atmosphere and sound continue to be top notch, it is nice to see the food improving. Keep it up!
First time at this club was for NYE to see Kenny G and Lets just say ill def be back, and not just for special events.A ton of seats fit into a small place and although you are next to someone else not in your party, it still felt intimate. The sound was amazing. The menu was very affordable. The staff was very friendly and attentive throughout.I highly recommend this place.Mr G was a star. It felt special to witness such talent in person as he swam through the entire club with his sax before even getting on stage.Dress to impress and enjoy.
Staple jazz club in Seattle. They do a great job keeping the calendar full, always something to look forward to! I saw several shows here over the years, with an increased frequency over the last two. Are all the shows mind-blowing exciting? No, but theyve got such a wide variety trying something new is easy and encouraged. Try something you arent familiar with, Ive walked away satisfied, and sometimes wowed! The food is good, not a huge menu or my favorite restaurant or anything, and the prices are on the high end, but its not bad by any measurement.Go to Jazz Alley. Listen to music, all different kinds! Do it, and then plan your next trip to Jazz Alley!!
We had a great time seeing Judith Hill at this venue. The atmosphere is great. The food was good but our waitress seemed to have an attitude from the moment she came to our table.
The bar and door staff were amazing. The vibe in here is just grown and sexy. The surround sound makes the music even more enjoyable. The food is good but extremely over priced.
Wonderful, historic jazz venue with a top notch sound system. Drinks prices are fair, the food menu looked high but, we did not eat. Plates looked yummy. There isn’t a bad seat in the room. Service was excellent. Steven was a good server who offered good small talk and quick service. I had a frull drink before my current drink was ever empty.
I always have a great time at Jazz Alley.I love that its kid friendly, and they bring in the best performers! The Emmet Cohen Trio was amazing!!
Visited with my wife. Great atmosphere. Will come back on our next trip to PNW. With love from Greenville, SC!
Great venue and free parking. I usually sit at the bar as you are pretty much guaranteed a good view.
I found out that i am probably not the biggest fan of jazz but the ambiance and food were such an incredible experience. if you decide to go to a show i would really go all out and eat dinner as well!
The Con Funk Shun 7:30 show was amazing. There is notba bad seatbin the house.. dinner was greatbtoo.
My wife and I have gone to Dimitrous twice now and both times were wonderful experiences. Five stars for the terrific environment and selection of jazz musicians. We most recently went to their Christmas jazz concert with Bobby Caldwell performing, and it was spectacular to see him perform live and up close. The food served here is average at best and overpriced. Weve dined here for a full meal once and just had dessert the second time. Both times we regretted ordering anything. Its clearly a venue focused on the music, so if youre interested in good food, Id advise you to go out to eat and then catch the shows at 9:30.
Dinitrious Jazz Alley is not a place you want to skip over when you visit Seattle. We experienced a night that will never be forgotten. The food, service, and performance by Omar Sosa & Seckou Keita SUBA Trio featuring Gustavo Ovalles was top notch. I will make it a point to visit Dimitrous any time I return to Seattle. I cannot recommend this enough!
Please go ONLY if youre going to make your attention available to the musicians. They serve a nice meal there (I had the grilled shrimp and grits with a side of cornbread and was very pleased with it) and the enjoyment of the environment and the fun and fancy feeling can cause some to think that this time is just about them and voices, like the sound here, will carry. You owe yourself a night out here! Do it.
Truly a World Class music venue. Worth a special trip to Seattle. Also very excellent dinner and drinks.
Love coming to hear some music and chill. I like to sit by myself at the bar or bring a friend. Dimitrious food is incredibly good. They have recently upgraded the menu, and they have outdone themselves. I recommend the Crab ragoon for a delicious appetizer. The wedge salad with bacon and blue cheese is addictive. The NY steak is cooked to perfection with high quality and reasonable price tag. Martinis on point🍸. If you want a night alone or with a group, they can do both. Its intimate, fun and didnt break the bank. Customer service 5 star. Thank you for making me a regular patron❤️Ill see you soon
OMG whenever I’m lucky enough to share such an evening of magical showmanship, friendly people, good food and beverages I feel so blessed. Love love this man’s extraordinary amazing talent. Must find a way to do Botti at Sea 2024. Thank you Chris and all your crew for giving us the courage to live outside the box. Widow for five years and the brilliant talent you have gets me out of the house !!!!!!Thank you thank you thank you☀️⭐️🌗💕💕💕
One of the best experiences I ever had in my whole life very fun and interesting new thing to do. I never experienced jazz music before and it was so good will definitely be back with other friends and family to show them so they can check it out. They also serve dinner and the food was really good definitely worth the money and very affordable.
Saw Kenny G. First jazz event here. Service was good. Our table was very small so there wasnt much room for food and drinks. I did have to put my clutch on the floor. It seems like wherever you sit you will get a decent view. Unless you are right new to the side of the stage. Ambiance was great. I do have one complaint.. The cushions on the chairs we sat on were very thin and hard so I had to shift around a bit to get comfortable. Also the seats were bolted to the floor so we didnt like that too much. I would come back for sure. Right after this concert we went online and bought tickets to 2 more shows in August and October.
We visit here every couple months, they have the best shows. Sound is great, the food is fabulous and the atmosphere is relaxed and dressy casual. Shows can sell out super fast so its best to sign up for their advance notifications, the Alley Cats. Jazz Alley is one of our favorite places for dinner and music and its a fabulous place for a date night!
Great venue, wonderful music, terrific service. We had a nice evening listening to jazz.
It is an amazing venue. Comfortable and cleanThe staff is very friendly and accommodating. The Spinners were awesome and went out into audience afterwards to greet people and take pictures. They are a very energetic and humble group. I would definitely come back to another show.
Outstanding music venue. Every seat is close to the stage with only a few tables on either side that have suboptimal views of the stage. Excellent HVAC system so it doesnt get hot or stuffy even on the balcony. Very good menu, but a bit pricey. You should go.
Jazz Alley is a great venue to go and enjoy a great Jazz gig in a very nice club. 👍The menu has a great selection for your favorite flavor and a VERY good selection of wines. 😋I really enjoyed seeing and hearing the Heavy Hitters in person and Eric Alexander playing the new ax hes been playing.Im looking forward to seeing and hearing The Cookers in person in February.
Despite the size of the venue, the feeling is intimate. Sound management is extraordinary and sightlines are excellent. We also had dinner and its excellent. Delicious lasagna and calamari appetizer. Prices are high, but it is in a city. Service was great! The photo is from The Blind Boys of Alabama set before the show. Three of the originals are still singing, but theyve added a guitar/vocalist, drums, and a bass-guitarist/vocalist who is a fabulous counter-tenor. It was a great show, a great venue.
Jose Felicano tonight!Awesome performance. A mix of his music and many other artists we all love including Dylan, Santana, and Bee Gees! Wonderful connection to the audience between songs. Loved his comedy. So grateful to see Jose tonight.....hey man, hes a good guy for sure.Jazz Alley: great room, gracious staff, good food and drink. Wonderful evening. Cant wait to go back.
This place is just pure magic!!! Every musician sounds amazing, and the seating is very intimate and setup for listening and enjoying a dinner at the same time. We recently saw a jazz saxophone played perfectly and the sound was life changing. Do not pass up a chance to eat and enjoy any show here!!!
Always a great experience for people who are new or old to jazz! Isn’t really a spot if you are expecting to have a full conversation during your meal. This place is about the music!
Nice venue to enjoy jazz.Food and drinks were just fine and we enjoyed our evening there.
Even though every table was filled, the service was excellent! We ordered the dogmatism for the appetizer, Acadian salad and shrimp and grits, and requested to be served in 3 courses. Our server, Kim, was awesome. Friendly, and yet, when it got busy, and I mean busy, that place was PACKED, everything rolled out perfectly smoothly. Spinners are excellent entertainment. We had an amazing night.
First time going. Absolutely wonderful! Loved listening to the music and the food was delicious. My husband and I both had the ny steak, cooked perfectly and loved it. Also had the calamari, also really good although I did prefer the rings over strips (personal preference) but great nonetheless. Wonderful date night.
We seen several concerts here over the past 20+ years. In my opinion this is the single best music venue in Seattle, and one of the best anywhere in the country. The roster of jazz acts they draw every year is amazing. Every seat in the house is good, the acoustics are excellent, the food is good and the service is first-class. Wish theyd open a sister club down in Portland, since Jimmy Maks closed their doors.
What an amazing place! A must do in Seattle. We have a dear friend who works here so we thought lets check it out. We will officially make Jazz Alley a family holiday tradition. Our son loved it. The Christmas decorations were beautiful. The staff are all extremely friendly, service is out of this world and the food is very delicious. The music was over the top! Thank you Jazz Alley for a special evening. Happy Holidays to you all and hugs to our dear friend Rachael!
We go to Jazz Alley often as our date night. It was the first place we visited for entertainment when we moved from East Coast about 10 years ago. Jazz Alley never disappoints us. They are even more exceptional, as they help to coordinate two different show dates, combined them into one where we could dine and enjoy our friends. By the way, this was super short notice and they looked to see what they could do. I LOVE the entertainment, the FOOD and the STAFF! Thanks for bringing wonderful talent to us here in Seattle in an intimate environment.
A great array of artists. Go see what you like. Sound is great. A great venue. You get best seating if you go for dinner. Food is good, price is reasonable for Seattle. Try it, youll likep it. If you dont have a good time, its your fault.
Absolutely horrible -- do not recommend. Upon arrival I found out our seats could not accommodate my disability. I asked if we could be re-seated and was told that we could pick any open seat 15 minutes after the show started. We arrived, as stated on the reservation, 1.25 hours early for dinner. Btw, it is Not necessary to arrive even 30 min early to eat, but we didnt know that. Anyway, the show started late and we waited the 15 minutes to check open seating, as we had been advised to do upon arrival, and moved to a booth where I could get the head and neck support I require (following 17 spine surgeries). By this time my pain levels were quite high. The Jerk that was apparently in charge came over and yelled at us -- during the show -- claiming that table was for someone and we couldnt move there. He was a complete As* and briskly walked off after yelling and telling us off. I then went over to his stand to discuss the issue and he yelled at me again saying no one gave us permission and we couldnt just up and change seats. I explained kindly that we had asked and been told we could move. He yelled again saying No, you cant do that. Again I explained why and that I had numerous spine surgeries and needed my head supported while sitting for long periods. He refused to allow us to use the booth, even though it remained empty and we had been given permission to choose it and re-seat ourselves. He said we could only sit in a half booth. I kindly tried to explain that doesnt support my neck and head like the full booth would. He didnt care. This is a Gross violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act -- denying an accommodation that is available, requested and needed. Never again!! Worst staff / head as* whatever you call him EVER. And did I mention the table remained empty? Complete liar.
The venue is clean and classy, fit for more than alley status. I loved how I could book the tickets through the website and there was not a ticket that I had to print out. They also quickly answered a question I had by email about dinner and what time we should arrive. I arrived at 6:30 for a 7:30 show, and had a starter salad and an entree. The entree was delivered 15 minutes before the show started, which was enough time for me to finish, right as they played their first song. The lasagna was incredible (I would expect as much, considering the price tag). I loved the bechamel sauce that it was plated on. I had such a great time and dont regret a thing.
Nearly Dan was wayyy better than the Really Steely Dan. We had a blast!
Food was excellent, service was excellent, music was excellent. Just be prepared for steep costs!
As a group of 6, we saw Victor Wooten on March 21st with a nearly stagefront table. I try to visit jazz clubs in every city that I visit.Dimitriou’s is a beautiful venue. The ambience, service, food, and wine list are amazing. In terms of food, the use of genuine parmesan reggiano is particularly appreciated. If you’re looking to order the prime rib, arrive early! The seafood options are also fantastic. The experience, however, was frustrating to enjoy due to the two stagefront guests constantly recording video for both Instagram and Snapchat. No action was taken to enforce the venue’s rules despite bringing this to the attention of our waiter.I’d love to return, hopefully without the presence of those constantly recording short clips.
I had an incredible experience at Jazz Alley! The food was fantastic, and Kirk Whalum’s performance was simply outstanding. The audio quality was perfect - not too loud, but just right to immerse yourself in the music and appreciate all the intricate details. It was a night to remember, and I can’t wait to go back!
Ive seen many artists over the years at the jazz alley and its a world class music venue with great staff, wonderful ambience. I would easily give it a 10 star.
Loved it! Always a good time. I wish they had a bigger stage. But that will not keep me from going back. Great food and drinks!
2nd time here. Wow, what an experience! Food is upscale too.
We were fortunate enough to see Cherry Poppin Dadies here the other night. The food and atmosphere was wonderful. The entrainment was exciting for me, for I have been a fan of theirs since mid 1990s. Had a great time, and the prices didnt break the bank. I will suggest this as a night out with my friends.
10/5 for the music and ambience3/5 for the food and service- The server ghosted us after we ordered our food. We had no cutlery save the soup spoons to eat our food with. The music was great so we didn’t really care for the food but she came back at the end of the meal with the check without coming back to ask for dessert or another round of drinks or the missing silverware . All the tables around us had the servers coming back, except ours.Maybe it was that they are short on staff or maybe because we were the only south asian table in our section who knows.4/5 for the cocktailsThis is one of the few places with soul and charm in the city, and if you are someone who appreciates music- the intimacy and charm of the venue will result in a great experience despite the terrible service and average food.
Take one-of-a-kind performers, throw in delectable food and beverages, efficient servers and staff, along with the warmth of a softly-lit intimate venue where every seat is great and you have Dimitrious Jazz Alley in Seattle. I just celebrated my 4th visit there Sept. 29th for Sergio Mendes and it was sublime! Canadians simply dont get to see acts like this at home. Back next April for Tower of Powers 50th anniversary and cannot wait. Praise all around!
We saw Nearly Dan for my father-in-laws birthday. Nearly Dan were amazing.Food, drinks and atmosphere were great and the staff were very polite and helpful. We will be returning for sure.
Must go!! Great everything... food, service, venue. Cant wait to go back!
My favorite entertainment spot in Seattle. However, their offerings are getting a little stale. Id love an opinion from someone else whos visited them over the years. Also not sure about their sound system it could be my age and hearing but seems to be off. But great place well worth a visit.
We came without a reservation and got lucky. This was an amazing experience. Recommended to get reservations for best seats. We only had dessert and drinks but everything was fantastic. Joey Alexander trio was on, and boy, were they on! Amazing show. For a first time visit, I will be back next time Im in Seattle.
A very special place, like stepping back in time to the 1960s very cool vibe with good food and great music, we try and go to at least one show a year
My opinion is very biased, I was the Chef there years ago. In my opinion a great intimate venue to see first class jazz music! To enjoy great music and food in one place is truly an experience from better times! The Dimitriou family always endeavors to deliver a great product in everyway!
If you have never been before, this is a must if youre in the Seattle area. The venue was perfectly placed. Staff was Johnny on the spot, and ever so friendly. If youre looking to celebrate something special, this would be the place to go. Note that there is a cover charge to get in. So totally worth the price. 10/10. Thank you for a lovely experience. Cant wait to go again!!
The best acts have always come to Jazz Alley and I am grateful theyre still here. My favorite show was Joshua Redman, Bryan Blade and Christian McBride. Solid drinks and food. Service is excellent. Good sound here, and never had a bad seat.Note that they validate parking for a garage just adjacent to the club.
Fantastic music acts and a long history of having award winning artists very regularly. Theres a nice ambience to this intimate venue - suitable for the kind of performances that are on. The staff generally provides great service. The one downside are the food options could be better given the price. Theirr prime rib is the best thing on the menu and very limited. Get on early if you can to order the few available.
While the event was wonderful ( Thursday Almost Dan), being out of prime rib at 7 pm, switched to the New York and ordered it medium. Lights were super low so I didn’t see that it was well done. It tasted fine, but def over cooked. Also, please clean the lighting pots on the lighting desk and replace a few gels please :)Well done generally
Great place to see live music. Went here to see Bob James and his quartet. Wow. They were on fire. Would love to come back and see other musicians. We had great seats, but could see how view would be obstructed from some of the side seats. The salad was really good and my partner had the chocolate cake which looked amazing and he said tasted great too. Drinks were tasty and nonalcoholic versions were available.
