Selah Salon & Spa

Went in on Monday with very high expectations as I thought this salon won Best in City- I’m not sure if it was just a big miscommunication but I asked a stylist who specializes in blondes to update my overgrown balayage and give me some bangs that I could push to either side or split down the middle. She unfortunately did not ask my preference for length and I now have very tiny, thin, uneven bangs straight across my forehead. I made it 20 feet to my car when I looked in the mirror and noticed how bad my hair actually was. I’ve been upset all week and when I reached out to Ángeles the only thing she offered was to recut my bangs and stated “they don’t give refunds”. I understand the impact Covid has had financially on everyone but I also received color AND paid $172 and am stuck with a very bad haircut. At this point a partial refund wouldn’t do anything to fix the situation and recutting them is not going to make me look any more presentable. The photos attached are from right after receiving service and then going home to try and style it on my own.EDIT: Thank you for responding to me review. Unfortunately a “tip” or “trick” isn’t going to fix the situation. I didn’t want to be rude to Ángeles that’s why I immediately left and messaged her privately but so please don’t mistake that for being happy with what she did to my hair. At this point the color has even completely faded out and my bangs are still choppy and unmanageable. It was a bad job, plain and simple.

I had the best massage of my life by massage therapist Masse today—1 1/2 hours of full body massage combined with full body sugar scrub. Thank you Masse !

Selah Salon is so wonderful, I’ve been frequenting this salon for almost 5 yrs now and have enjoyed almost every service. I wouldn’t go anywhere else! Shama is my hair stylist and she is truly an artist who loves her craft. My hair has never looked better. Kristy is my ride or die nail tech that is always health minded and fun to be around. She works around your schedule and will always fit you in, love her! Lashes by Victoria, what a Queen this young lady is, professional and caring. Quality over quantity, she is the most knowledgeable lash tech in El Paso. I could go on about everyone in this lovely salon, but I saved the best for last…Cathy, the owner is the glue that binds all this together. She is a sweetheart and will always go out of the way to make your experience a great one, match you with whatever your needs require. Bottom line, Selah is a one stop salon of expertise!!

I get my hair color here and my mani & pedi as well. The pace is gentle, calm, with care and professionalism. I leave feeling better than when I arrived because Im not a number Im handled like precious cargo. ❤

Asia did my cut and color all I had to do was show her some inspo photos and she took care of the rest. I love my hair and it’s exactly how I wanted it!

Hair was supppperrr long. Just got back from a year long deployment where I didn’t cut it at all and so I really needed this. Got an appointment with Asia and gave her some pictures of the type of style I was looking for and what kind of color I wanted for my balayage and she worked her magic. Cut off about 8 inches of hair and I am very happy with the result! Hair feels so much lighter (obviously) and much healthier!

It took me a while to find a good hair stylist after mine left town. I found this place and decided to give it a try and thank God I did, Evie is my person, she is the greatest! Very smart, provides feedback, shows me how to style and upkeep my new do! Evie is the best! The other ladies are friendly, the environment is great, the Salon is beautiful.

For the salon itself it was clean and offered many different things. Everyone was very nice and greeted me very well. I got my hair cut by Megan she was nice and friendly. I came in to cut my very long hair at that point my hair was at about my waist. I communicated that I wanted my hair a little bit past my shoulders. However when we started she did not wash or wet my hair she took my hair and grabbed it in the back and started to cut because in her words so I dont have to wash all of this I believe because she took these steps that it resulted in my hair being much shorter than I wanted. This technique may work for different hair types but definitely doesnt work on mine.

I had an incredible experience at this salon. I had last been to an incredibly expensive New York City salon, and I can honestly say my experience at the Selah Salon & Spa was better for under HALF of the price.I had Asia as my stylist and she was absolutely wonderful. Not only was she friendly, knowledgeable, and personable, she helped me go from the partly blonde I started with (from the first salon) to a full ash blonde with babylights and a smudge at my roots. She even noticed a discrepancy in my haircut from my previous salon and fixed it for me. I was blown away by the quality of what I got and nearly teared up when she showed me at the end. This is everything I was hoping for from my experience in NYC so I was incredibly happy this time around.I thoroughly recommend not only Asia but this location in general!They also proved they are also working hard to keep up high health standards during COVID, so you will definitely have a safe and professional experience.Thank you so much, Selah Salon & Spa!

I liked my haircut, and I am satisfied with it. However, Samantha my stylist was not friendly at all. I came in before my appointment and waited for twenty minutes before somebody asked me who I was getting my haircut with. There was nobody at the front desk and Samantha came to the lobby after twenty minutes. When she sat me down she wasn’t very nice. I tried to make conversation and she interrupted me and she said I waited for that long because she didn’t see me in the lobby. She had to call me to even find me even though I was standing at the door. She left me multiple times for a long period of time, and left my hair dripping on my shirt. I don’t recommend coming here because she was rude. I was recommended her services from a friend, but I’m not coming again.

I came to Selah Salon to get a facial and Im glad I did. Karla is great, she is very professional and asks questions about your skin and any issues you may be having. I noticed a difference in the first month. My facial will be based on the condition of my skin. I have been coming for months now.If you need a hair cut and color then you should ask for Samantha. I appreciate her knowledge and how she will always give me her professional opinion when I have questions about hair color.And if you want great nails then Ceci is the person to visit. I love how she takes her time to make sure your nails come out looking great.

I recently turned the big 40 and wanted to do something different with my hair. Samantha Sapien was recommended by a friend and she did an amazing job with my hair. I went in with blue hair that had washed out into green and now have a beautiful red color. I havent had red hair since my early 20s! Thank you so much Sam!

Had my appointment with Asia and she was absolutely the best! She turned my long boring brown hair into a beautiful purple ombré! Just what I wanted! The salon is very comfortable and everyone is so nice! I had a wonderful experience and I will definitely come back to keep my purple vibrant!

The stylists here are always very up front about prices, the health of your hair, and their ability to get to your hair goal. I like their honesty, and I wish more salons were like this. I dont feel pressured to talk if Im not in the mood, I dont feel forgotten about, and Im always offered a beverage during my treatment.

This review is for eyelash extensions!I was a bit skeptical about paying an arm and a leg for eye lash extensions especially after being told certain places only charged $60. However, I ran into a friend who got hers done here and I fell in love with it. I got my full set done months ago and on my fifth return for fills. Victoria is beyond amazing and extremely efficient. She makes me feel like a brand new woman each time and the amount of confidence it gives me is beyond words. I absolutely love her work. The time she takes to clean and fill each eye lash really shows how much she loves what she’s doing. Thank you for being so great and so accommodating!For those considering but skeptical because of the price, the QUALITY shows it’s worth EVERY penny.

Karla is AMAZING with brows! She was SO meticulous, and she was very careful to make sure she got it perfect. I cant wait to try her other services. And Kaycee was so great with my hair! She explained everything she was doing and was great about making what I wanted a reality. It only took me 2 years, but I FINALLY found my salon!

Scheduled a same day appointment for a hair cut with Angeles and she did amazing! She was friendly and professional, wish I found this place sooner! My hair feels great and looks super cute, definitely recommend! (Also the establishment was clean and even other employees seemed really nice)

This salon is a gem! It’s been 2 years since I’ve gotten my hair professionally done and what I wanted was something only a true hair professional could achieve. After a lot of searching I was lucky enough to find this place. I schedule a consultation with Angeles and showed her a picture of my desired color. Boy let me tell you she did more than deliver my hair looks and feels amazing! She transformed what I wanted to fit me and I love it! I can’t get over how pretty my hair looks and will definitely be back!

I sent my wife here because of good reviews I read on Google. All she wanted was nails done. Nothing fancy just solid color and some glitter like medium in length. She made the appointment and I dropped her off. Unfortunately I had to pick her up within minutes because the staff member was unable to do nails like that. My wife explained to me that the place was nice but wish we would have known this when she called so we wouldnt have wasted the trip. The staff member did call us back and I spoke with her and was very apologetic, but told my wife another staff member could help her but would take another hour. But I just wanted to let others know to ask before you go what they can and cannot do. My wife cant say anything else about the about the salon because she didnt get to experience what else they offer. But unfortunately they lost a first time customer. It may not seem like a lot to an employee but to a business thats revenue over time because I assure you my wife would have been a repeat customer. Fortunately she found another nail salon and paid $30 for her nails exactly as she wanted. We would have paid the prices at the salon anyways because we would expect better service for a higher price. Im sure the salon offers a great experience but just make sure you let them know exactly what you need before you show up. I rated 2 stars because my wife said the salon was very nice and comfortable to be in. No offense to the staff member but maybe management should add to their online menu that only certain staff can do certain nails so to lesson the confusion. Again this is our review of this salon. Im sure other customers have been going here for years with no issues. Just trying to leave a helpful post.

Update:I went back to Michell this year. This time I booked a hair cut for myself and three daughters. Sent her pictures beforehand to ensure she knew what we were looking for. I knew that it would be silly to expect the same exact product, but Michell surprised us! It may not have been exactly to the T, but it was damn near. My children look beautiful, I left there feeling beautiful. Michell has skills AND PATIENCE! Love her and I wouldnt want anyone else to do our hair.September 23, 2019Back in May of this year, I went to Paul Mitchell on post for a hair cut. The women completely messed up my hair. I made an appointment with Michelle. I was so scared that my hair would get ruined again, but I had to get it fixed. Michelle did an amazing job fixing it. I looked like a completely different person! I loved it and the Hubby loved it! I would totally recommend this business. PLUS the front desk lady is so sweet and pleasant. Loved it here.

Selah Salon & Spa is incredible! It is obvious that the owner, Cathy, puts her heart and soul into her salon. Her team is professional and client centered. I have been going to Selah for years and have never been disappointed with a cut, style or massage. I highly recommend Selah to anyone who wants to feel beautiful!

I made an appointment to get my nails done with Kristy. She was patient while I selected my color, even showed me some samples. We had a nice chat while she did my nails and the gel polish has lasted very well without chipping. Im excited to go back and find out about their other services!

Had my hair styled and colored with Beth. Did an amazing job understanding what I wanted, and was very honest and detailed in explaining how my hair would end up. Made sure I walked out with a hairstyle that looked great then, and now, weeks later. On top of that, she was great company. Im eagerly awaiting my next appointment.

Ive been going to Selah Salon since about 2003 and everytime Im very pleased. Beth is my stylist and she is wonderful! I just love her! Their overall staff service is great, everyone is so nice. The envirenement is very comfortable and relaxing. I am ALWAYS telling people where I get my hair colored and cut, as I always get complimented on the style or on the color. I will continue going there. Theyre excellent.

I thought that this salon was the best. It had a lot of good reviews. I wish I had just waited until I went back home to see my stylist in New York. I went in with a gorgeous blonde balayage with depth and my natural roots. It had grown out in a year and I wanted the blonde brought up higher. Thats it. I had an appointment with Megan and was really excited. My husband is deployed and Ive been stuck home with an infant. This was my one thing to do for myself. After SEVEN HOURS in the salon, I left in tears. I had shown her pictures of what I wanted and even one of what I didnt want. I literally just wanted it brought up. After the first bleach session, my hair had a bunch of brown spots( they looked like big splotches of brown on blonde hair. About baseball sized, some of them) and my roots, which I had asked to stay my natural color(meaning not bleaching or coloring them), were orange. After bleaching and re coloring, she was able to fix it some. But it was not even remotely close to what I wanted. My hair is now solid blonde with little to no dimension. It was closer to what I wanted before she touched it. After telling her that it wasnt even close to what I wanted, she immediately got angry and told me that it was what I had shown her in the picture. It definitely was not. I gave up arguing with her and asked to just pay and leave. She wanted to charge me $140. She had told me $120 when I had made the appointment. I would have zero problem paying that if I had gotten what I wanted. The manager was almost no help. She did offer to have Megan come in and try to fix it again. I had been there 7 hours and just wanted to go home. She had already tried to fix it once, when she corrected the dark spots in the blonde. The manager said that I should pay the $120 that she originally told me and that she would pay the difference and Megan said no thats not necessary and put the credit card reader in front of me. I paid $140 for a dye job that I hate and am going to have to pay someone else to fix. She treated me so badly once I said that I didnt like it. What a degrading experience. Theres no reason for how unprofessional and rude she was to me.

I went and get Brazillian wax for me and bikini wax for my daughter .The lady was very rough and rushing the whole time, I feel like a pig that getting butchered, my daughter was crying the whole time when she was getting her bikini wax she got traumatized that day, and it was her first time. The room was dirty and look un sanitized, and she charged us extra $15 of what prices supposed to be. I had rash and very itch for a weeks.If this website letting me I would put zero star about my experience that day. That lady didn’t deserve any star of what happened to us that day.

A friend recommended Samantha S. to me she made some arrangements and was able to squeeze me in on a busy Saturday. The place was clean, immediately greeted, offered water or tea, and staff was very friendly. Sam was awesome did my highlights, hair cut, and style, I went out that night and was complemented all night. Thank you Sam. Will definitely be returning and recommend to all my friends!!

My goodness!! What a sweet slice of happiness this spa is. I came in today for their Deluxe package, and from the moment I walked in, til I left, it was such an amazing experience. During my facial, Karla was so knowledgeable, gentle, and made me feel immediately at ease and relaxful. My massage was next and it was hands down, THE BEST!! I am really picky about massages and have always been left wanting more.... Well, I was left wanting only more of Masses hands and expertise. Her pressure was excellent!!! Firm and perfect to get out all my trigger points. My day was finished with Kristy who gave me a blissful Mani/pedi. She was sweet and gentle with all aspects of this!! Loved everything about this!! Will do this again, 💯.

Samantha is amazing. I am a blonde and she does a great job on color. The salon is friendly as well with a warm atmosphere.

I personally love this place, but you need to know a few specific things before going. No kids allowed, pretty pricey and extra grief if youre ever late. But! The ultra-high level of hairdresser skill is more than worth it. Also do eyelashes, nails, massage and more. They do rotate multiple clients at a time, so it can feel like youre in a herd, but again the skill level of the hairdresser is always A+.

ABSOLUTELY LOVED GOING TO SELAH SALON/SPA!! My hair, hands, & feet were done better than I expected! Definitely recommend going there, I know I will be going back again!! For booking an appointment ask for Kristie for nails and Michelle or Samantha for hair! Id give this establishment 1,000 stars if I could! Always friendly, very mannerly, and customer service was outstanding! Thank you guys for doing such an awesome job!!

I am pretty disappointed with my recent experience. I have never been to this salon before and I called a few weeks ago to set up an appointment for this past Thursday. I was really looking forward to this appointment, as I havent had my hair colored since December. An hour before my appointment, I received a text and a call from the stylist letting me know that something came up and that she would call me later in the day to reschedule a new appointment for me; it is now Tuesday and I havent received a callback. I understand that things come up and life happens, but what a lack of professionalism and a poor way to do business.

I love the way I felt as soon as I entered the front doors! I was greeted immediately and offered a beverage. I visited Selah for eyelashe extensions. Let me just tell you, Victoria does an amazing job and is extremely professional. Preservation of the integrity of my natural lashes was her main concern. She knows what shes doing! I highly recommend trying out Selah Salon!

Kacee is the absolute best, she has done my hair 3 times now, one color I had was a little too vibrant for me and she got me right in the same week and corrected it to the PERFECT shade 😍 shes so sweet and the work she does is amazing! 10/10 recommend!!!

Evie has done wonders for my curly hair! I love how sweet she is while very professional and is a maestro of curls! I’m sure the other stylists there are just as sweet as they are beautiful

My hair was botched. Not at all what I ask for very uneven a shame to pay $60 and come home realizing how MESSED up my haircut was…. As a tired mom who was jsut happy to get a haircut I didn’t realize how bad it was until I got home.

I searched and searched for a stylist who could actually give me an excellent haircut. I have not had good experiences pretty much during my entire time in El Paso. Im from Madison, WI and I could never wait until I could have my stylist, Mitz, fix my hair. She could never understand why it couldnt happen down here. So I read all of the Selah reviews and decided I would give them a try. My daughter and I went in last month and met with Beth. She totally understood what we each wanted and was able to do so successfully. I waited to write this review until my hair grew out. To me, thats how you can tell a great cut. And it still looks great. We will definitely be seeing Beth again. She charges a bit much, but if we can wait longer inbetween cuts, its worth it!

Kazmira has been doing my nails for over 3 years. And her work is just beautiful and of the highest quality. I also really like the way she makes booking an appointment so easy online. And her prices are really fair when you consider what she does.

French has cut my hair numerous times and styled once for a formal occasion. She has done just what I asked for and it looks great each time. Professional, clean, friendly, relaxing environment. Would definitely recommend.

This is a wonderful place! They always welcome me with open arms, offer me a drink, and make me feel very special. And for years I have come here for Shama to do my hair... And she always knows what to do with it, just what I like; she always knows what looks best! And Kazmira is my go-to person for my nails. She is awesome!

After an experience with a new stylist at a completely different salon (in which the new stylist butchered my hair), I came to Selah to fix what had been done. Samantha S. is phenomenal! After 4 years in El Paso, I have finally found a salon, and more importantly a stylist, that I can trust and continue to visit! Thank you!

I was completely floored when I recently took my daughter in for highlights and it took over 4 hours and cost $150. We got to the salon and not one person noticed we were even there until I went looking for someone to check in with and that was after waiting in the front for over 20 minutes. While my daughter was getting her hair done Shama did 5 other clients. It was ridiculous because at times we were just sitting there waiting, not processing but just waiting. Shama is nice but if she is going to charge that much money for a simple highlight then she should be in LA or NY not El Paso. I couldnt even bring myself to tip her because the price was so outrageously high and it took so long to finish.

Took a blind shot at this place after having my hair ruined at a pricey salon in town. Super attentive service made me feel comfortable and Beth took me in like she had been working with my hair for years. I gave her an idea of what I wanted and she ran with it.

Friendly, takes Covid-19 cleaning precautions including waiting in your car until texting for your appointment, mask wearing, wiping down chairs before and after use, etc. Ive gone to Evie for two separate haircuts and shes easy to book with and Ive always loved my cuts! Also, the hour long massages are amazing.

Tori is the best ever!!! I have extremely long hair and was super nervous about getting it even trimmed (due to horrible experiences in the past) and i decided to come here. She is very nice and right away makes you feel comfortable and is so reassuring that itll come out fine. I can honestly say im looking forward to my next haircut!! Thanks Tori my husband is going to be so happy that I have style now!!

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I came in with pictures of what I wanted and expressed to the stylist what I didnt want. She gave me what I didnt want and ruined my hair! It used to be past my shoulders, but when the stylist bleached my hair, clumps of it fell into the sink, and of course so much damage was done to it thast it had to be trimmed. It has been 7 months and my hair still hasnt grown past my shoulders!

Samantha Shamáy is incredible. She was so sweet, and cut my hair exactly how I wanted it! She really listened to what I asked for and she delivered. I will definitely be going back to see her again soon!!

Very disappointed with my recent experience I had with a hairstylist named Shamay. She first over charged me without letting me know there was a charge to everything she was offering me while doing my hair. Then when I spoke with the owner, she spoke with her and Shamay called me saying she would give me a FREE hair coloring and style for my desired date. I have been trying to reschedule a date with her for over a week and she has yet to let me know if she would be able to do my hair. I have been texting her and she has been very rude and disrespectful and I am very displeased with this experience.

Scheduled an appointment to get hair done for formal occasion only for them to decide to color someone elses hair and have to regard for the fact I scheduled an appointment because I had to be out of there at a certain time. I had to leave and try and do something on my own. They did not even apologize. I would not give them your business

They always start out greeting customers, make me feel welcome and important. I always get the full works, hairdo, color, and cuts. Everyone is so nice and very attentive. And I usually dont have to wait long. Leysly is very prompt. Yes, its a great place to get pretty and relax. I always feel pampered. And I always recommend them. I am very satisfied with each and every one of them, wouldnt change a thing.

My toenail developed a pocket of air underneath of it, resulting in the entire nail having to be removed after I had to pay to see a foot doctor. My toe was painful before and after the removal. Will not return to this location for a pedicure ever again.Edit:I am editing because of Carla. She waxes and does facials. I am giving it a 4 stars, up from the original 2 stars only because of her professionalism and how great she does. I got a thorough Brazilian in about 30 minutes with little to no pain. She made it less awkward by talking about things other than what was going on in the room. If you want a wax or a facial, ask for Carla.

Love getting my facials with Ms. Carla, she helps unclog my pores and my aura. Also love getting my massage with Ms. Masse. They are both extremely professional and thorough.

Kazmira does an excellent job on my nails, however she makes you feel like youre a bother when youre getting your nails done. She is very rude. If she doesnt want my business I can take it to someone who appreciates it

Amazing! I had my hair done by Angeles, Im not sure if thats how its written and Im really sorry if it isnt!! She was so sweet and made me look finally more presentable than I ever been!! I feel much more confident with myself thanks to her !!

Used to be a regular customer for facials when stationed at Fort Bliss.I miss the FACIALS!! Excellent and friendly customer service. Even though I have moved, I still use their Products faithfully! Because they TRULY do work!Let me add Ms. Carla is the BOMB!!

I love this salon... Mercedez colored my hair.. I went from dark brown/black to platinum.. She gave me a nice clean up cut too.. Im definitely satisfied with my overall color and cut.. I will be going back to her, as she is now my new stylist 😉Oohhh.. And the salon is Super clean.. 👍🏼
