We had actually been to the other location in Downtown. The food is completely different, regardless of the fact that the dishes and chefs who prepare them may be different. Something as basic as chicken fried rice was horrible, we tasted it raw, and the sushi was too disgusting, with no consistency of good flavor with the ingredients. We would definitely not return and would not recommend it
First I apologize for not taking pictures presentation was awesome as usual clean and precise flavor was wonderful 💯 beautiful color to the fish and the vegetables. If you are a sushi lover this is definitely the place! Also a great big shout-out to their cocktail menu they have some wonderful and unique mixes. Some great wines to choose from and they have good flavors of sake!!
Its always beautiful to sit outside at Blu sushi. This place has delicious fresh sushi 🍣 however I feel like its a bit expensive. The drinks more than anything ( & while they are on point) they are very expensive. I paid 17$ for a wine GLASS of lemon sake, expecting it to be the bottle. While I have had good service in the past, our waitress this time seemed a little more than bothered to come to our table. Sushi and atmosphere always good here.
We used to enjoy their lunch specials but they dont have the same value anymore. The food is good, but not worth the cost. Its a shame that their menu has had to change so much. Last time we went, we decided to go elsewhere for lunch for a better bang for our buck. Service has always been decent though.
Came here after a science meeting nearby. Since we ate at the meeting, we were only ordering drinks. We sat together at a high top, and the bartender was top notch. She was very attentive and kept up with our drinks if they were empty. Great service and she didnt seem bothered at all that we were just ordering drinks.Great atmosphere, tasty cocktails, and good conversation with friends made this a fun night.
Amber was my server and Benny created my sushi. She made my bloody Mary just the way I liked it and Benny was so creative with his sushi and it tasted out of this world! If you’re ever in the Fort Myers area you definitely need to stop in for all you can eat sushi until 2 o’clock on weekdays. Highly recommend!!
Friendly staff great food! Its all you can eat before 2pm 19.99 or luncheon specials 14.95. I usually have Salad with Ginger Dressing, Clear Soup with Mushrooms, Salmon Sushi and a cooked dish called Lava Drops. They have a good variety of sushi rolls to pick from also! You get to pick two things at a time.
Does not seem like owners care about the place anymore. I have been a patron for over 15 years. Food quality has gone down over the past year. Upkeep has gone down over past year. ATM machine installed to make a few extra bucks in the hostess area, like a gas station. Staff has admitted the same sentiments as i do. A lot less people are going , its a shame. It been a staple of the area for sushi for so many years.
I had the drunken noodles which was excellent. the spicy Salmon and spicy Tuna roll, I have no complaints on the freshness and taste, the rolls were pretty good. However I believe that the restaurant can improve on the packing. The food arrive with no safety seal, so if my delivery person wanted to toy with my food, they made it very easy. I paid for sauce that I did not received along with no receipt attached to the order.
My go to for sushi. I’ve been here pre, during and post COVID. Same great staff. Quality is consistent and fresh! Drinks are crafted perfectly! Get a martini. New style is one of my favs but ask them- they won’t steer you wrong. Indoor and outdoor with entertainment sometimes on weekends. Go! Classy but casual…
They have changed management and or owners. This place used to be the place to go back in the years. Now it still serves great food and is trendy but there is no one there. Used to be everyone knew everybody and it was a fun and exciting place to go. Dont know why everyones abandoned this lovely place. The food is excellent the wait staff is good. But there is still something missing, cant really put my mind to it but there is definitely something missing. Maybe some advertising or something?
Love the sushi here too we always come here it’s open late and lunch time .
Visited Blu Sushi recently with a friend. We enjoyed the happy hour ( pictured). Tuna Tower(pictured) and the Zulu Shrimp was delicious. The server/bartender Casi was very nice and attentive. The bento box Korean beef was so so. Sliced beef, not what I expected. I would definitely return and enjoy a full sushi dinner.
Came here for my daughter’s 21st birthday, she loves sushi and we tend to frequent the same sushi restaurants, so decided to switch it up for her, we had a great experience Katie “aka 19”was amazing, definitely went above and beyond, so starting from the service with her, we were already happy, the food came out looking amazing, she recommended a few rolls that were top notch! Thank you for making this special night a success! Katie keep up the good work!
Had a great lunch with my friend, excellent drinks and really good sushi. It was very cold in the front bar, but a lot more comfortable at the sushi area.
Very delicious and the bartender was so nice. Id definitely go back.
Ive been here multiple times, theres good food and vibes when you sit inside. I gave 4 stars because its a little pricy but its a nice sushi spot overall. The pics below were for takeout and it was 💣The speciality rolls were spicy salmon with crab, avocado and fried tempura things on top. The other one was a roll with something fried in the middle I dont remember what exactly but I think it was fish lol! But it also had tuna slices on top with eel sauce. They both were amazing and I recommend them!
Great little sushi spot! Everything tasted really fresh, and I really enjoyed the service, and the vibe
Amazing best place ever my favorite restaurant in the world my whole family loves it
We used to absolutely love this place but had the worst experience tonight. Took our daughter here for her birthday, and everything seemed fine - for about the first 45 minutes. Then we waited for over an hour for food. We were already three rounds of drinks in, and the restaurant was starting to clear out, so I sent my husband in to ask if our food would ever arrive or if we should cash out. They immediately brought out our food, and the sauces on it had completely solidified. It was legitimately disgusting to eat. The manager walked by about four times to stare at us because we had complained but never stopped by to talk. The waitress acted terrified to come to our table and was sending other women out instead. I told one to tell her it was okay and she came out and told me to watch the Snickers commercial about how no one is themselves when they are hungry, like its somehow my fault that I want to eat at a restaurant in something less than two hours. $200 later, and all I can say is I will happily tell everyone to never eat at this place again. Hardest of hard passes on so many levels. About a million better places to patronize in this foodie town.
I wish I can read the food, But I’ll Rated zero distributable don’t even have tap to be able to pay for your meal. Come on man go with the.
Extremely disappointed as a local to find out the endless sushi lunch has been discontinued. I would drive over an hour just for that.
While I love this location I was extremely disappointed in the experience today! There was a bone in my sashimi and the tuna was warm. The sushi chef tried arguing with me that bones were okay. What the .. there also was a guy in the back just staring at me while I was sitting at the sushi bar. If not at me then just staring which was very uneasy to eat watching the worker from the back staring and just standing there looking. The waitress wasn’t around even though the restaurant was empty to suggest a wine refill too. Oh she finally came around when I was done eating though to ask if I needed a refill. At that time I said no because I was done. I would’ve ordered more if the experience was better. Wow such a disappointment!!
Top notch sushi, the California Dream is especially good. The sushi is unique, fresh, and good.
Went in for jalapeño poppers, order was incorrect, went following day for refund and same order, manager from the day before gave a gift card. Gift card was only for $12.00 and 72 cents was owed. I let the manager on duty (a different one) know this was a refund to my previous order from the day before, she was SO RUDE and even raised her voice at me. Kept saying how I had to pay the 72 cents or she wouldn’t be able to give me my food.Long story short never going there again. And it’s not about the 72 cents they messed up my order the day before, they were trying to gain a customer back but lost one now.
The salad with ginger dressing was five star! My guess is the dressing was homemade, not the orange stuff you get at every other sushi place. Lava drops were OK and novel. You should try them. Ahi Tuna appetizer was very good. The main courses were a let down...Shrimp Tempura was overcooked, and the breading, yes breading, tasted like standard fried shrimp. I had Sashimi...portion sizes were above normal...the quality and species selection was below normal...first time that I didnt finish my plate...The service was great...attentive and friendly.Prices were high relative to quality.
The service was exceptional and stands to reason as to why I give it four stars instead of three. The sushi leaves much to be desired considering it is their specialty: rice needed more of the vinegar for seasoning and it was a little bland and overdry so you needed to use the sauces to actually flavor the sushi which rule of thumb for me is..very good sushi doesnt need any sauce added to it. Also will see their presentation of the volcano roll was very strange I prefer the hot crab shredded and mixed with the spicy mayo and put on top of the Roll they instead chop it up very finely and roll it up into balls which was just a weird texture and overall presentation in my opinion. Dont fix it aint broke you know... But again the atmosphere was awesome the restaurant overall was extremely clean and the service was exceptional so may return to give them another try maybe it was an off day.
Had the Pb& j roll & clear soup; they was delicious!! The bartender ladies are definitely friendly & The sushi chef knows what he’s doing. ❤️
My Husband orderd chicken Teriyaki. He was served a bowl with with rice, raw veggies and pre cooked frozen microwaved chicken that was cold.Atmosphere wasnt nice in there at all no music and the bar was super loud.Wont recommend and will not be back.
Trust the one starReviews, because this place is disgusting. The staff, food, customer and management are all so horrible. The management are high school dropouts with attitude. The guests are trashy drunks that will fight you because you’re not as drunk as them. Stay away from this place, the last year this place has gone downhill by 100%. The sushi is warm and will make you sick. This place is very bad and please trust this review because we’re just trying to help.
Pricey but good food and drinks. Happy hour menu was good. Tuesday 5pm the place was pretty much empty. Pre pandemic this place was always crowded.
I have been a loyal customer for years, both in person and via Uber eats. I regularly order the Tuna Tower. Today was a huge disappointment. There were unidentifiable pieces in with the tuna, and the tuna was not its usually quality. I will not be ordering this again, and will think twice before frequenting your establishments.
Waitress was annoyed we even sat down. Place was un welcoming. Then just never served us. Waited on every new customer before us and barely even acknowledged we were there. Disappointing
My wife & I really enjoyed this spot. The atmosphere was pretty cool, and had nice lighting to give off a calm lounge vibe. There was a large bar at the front once you walk in, and the perimeter was lined with smaller tables. The sushi was great; all of the ones we tried were very fresh, and the tempura rolls were really good. The Lava Drops are a great choice for crab lovers. The drinks were pretty good, but we only tried 1 ea.
I was in here yesterday and I witnessed a Karen that was very rude to the manager and staff. She was giving them a hard time about 73 cents! Anyway, the food was delicious and the service was great! Thank you to the manager and staff for giving us a good experience!
Didnt sit inside so I cant rate that part. The happy hour is good but its just rolls. I would have to try it again and sit inside to rate it higher. My drink was weak pineapple martini tasted like straight pineapple juice. Our waitress was good.
It was my first time in this place and I fell in love!!!! The attention from our waitress was excellent, the sushi one of the best Ive ever eaten ✨️
Great all you can eat sushi! Lava drops were the absolute best, service was great but price did go up to $20. All you can eat is until 2:00. Has adorable inside and nice outdoor patio! Will be back
Had some traditional sushi rolls. The fish was fresh and it tasted great. Outdoor seating was nice and calm.
I love this place!! the atmosphere is great, a great mix of bar-sushi restaurant. My number one spot to grab some drinks or so amazing sushi!
I would rate this place lower if I could. The sushi was awful, salty and it tasted like canned cat food. The service was not the best, I only saw my server 2 times. The only good thing about this place is that the manager was nice.
I hate to write this review as I was visiting for the first time. We were greeted and served immediately. I was So excited to try the tuna roll. However, my stomach was not. I received food poisoning the next day. Be careful of what you order!
The sushi was delicious and fresh, fun atmosphere, and a big shout out to Dom ! She was very friendly, and super efficient multitasking ie serving, bartending, clearing tables on a holiday evening! Was a great dining experience! Would return!
The service was very nice. I love the whole blue and water theme. The sushi was fresh and the drink was not watered down. The Blu Special was amazing and so filling. The Aloha Mr. Edison was very good also. I look forward to going back.
This star would’ve been half, but it’s not an option. The sushi was HORRIBLE. The salmon was lukewarm and the rice was not even made like sticky rice. If you want a place that is “off-brand” sushi come here. Not many dietary options, there was one roll that was too salty. The low-sodium soy sauce was salty as well. Went here with the family, would not recommend. If you’re someone that doesn’t know what sushi is or never had it. I would not recommend this place being your first experience. The Publix sushi was better than this.
Love this place. Great service, great sushi and just plain fun. Nice people. Visited several years ago and again recently. It did not disappoint.
Outstanding, a hidden gem! Went during happy hour, and prices were incredibly reasonable. Sushi was very good! Well definitely be back!
Food and drinks were great but our server Alyssa was incredibly rude. Completely ruined the whole evening for my family and I... We will NOT be coming back!
The best sushi spot in a Fort Myers! The fish is always fresh. My parents go religiously and they love their server! I believe her name is Leah. We are not easy but Leah takes care of everything! The all you can eat option is the best! They offer it during the lunch hour! We were there on a Sunday and they had the special even on weekends! Can’t wait to go back! Thanks girl!
Awful lunch experience with waitress Olivia. She was pleasant at first but everything quickly went downhill. I came in on my lunch break and expressed that I was in a time crunch, could I please order my next batch of sushi before I finished my first. I understand there are rules but she didnt even offer to check with management. About halfway through eating I asked her to come back in one minute at which point she smartly remarked are you going to be done in a minute?. Which yes, I was, and no she didnt come back in a minute. After placing our next order we had to go inside and ask for water refills from the manager and our dirty plates still sat on our table. When she came out to refill our drinks we both thanked her and got the cold shoulder which I found extremely rude. Good service is paramount to any business. If your wage depends on tips I would at least expect a simple youre welcome or any kind of acknowledgement in return. We were also never asked if the meal was going okay. Overall this was a terrible experience at what is marketed to be a social, fun, eclectic experience, instead it felt more like we were a burden.
I come to enjoy life and atmosphere on a weekly basis.
We take our dog and sit in the patio. We always go for endless sushi and bottomless mimosas. You really can’t get better sushi for that price. The service is always awesome and the quality of the sushi is outstanding. We love this place and go back often.
Every time we visit from out of state, we come here. The service and sushi are consistent and great each and every time! I ordered predominantly pieces of sushi (which is my opinion shows the quality of a restaurant because you cannot hide freshness in pieces of sushi) and every time they have been VERY fresh and delicious. Service is wonderful. Dominika was AWESOME! very attentive and informative and just altogether friendly and good vibes. Will be back next time we are in town!
Apparently I went to the wrong location because it doesn’t look anything like the downtown location. I’ve been eating sushi a long time and I would give this place a C at best for their sushi. There are plenty of other places I’d rather spend my hard earned money. Sorry but that’s just a fact. There is some nice eye candy here but other than that it’s just average. I might consider giving the downtown location a try at some point but I have too many other places that I prefer.
First and foremost Im from Miami and have been spoiled with the best sushi on the planet at a place Ive been going to for 20 years. So with that said its hard to eat sushi any where without comparing it, but recently bought a place on the water in Cape Coral, and the family was craving sushi. Lets just say this place is named correctly, because the sushi here blu. Although I must admit I ordered the Tower and the tuna was very fresh. I also ordered a spider roll which was awful smelled fishing salty 1 bite and I was done. My sons sushi was also terrible as that of my wife, niece and nephew. As for me and my family I have a rule we dont send food back nor do we complain to the waitress, I simply just dont visit the place again. Service was good and tip to the waitress(20%) does not reflect on the quality of the food. Stay clear of this place.
The sushi here is top of line, always fresh, and not just the everyday kind of fish. Service always good with a large staff at hand. Prices are fair for an upscale sushi place.
Food was very good. However, service was terrible, no one wore a face mask (only one employee was), and our waitress gave us a refill on our drinks at the last second, after we were done our food. My siblings and I were treated like trailer trash. :( Will not be coming back here, and was not worth the amount of money that we spent. Especially when youre young and dress like a real Floridian.
This is not a review that I enjoyed writing. 5 of us ate here last night. service was excellent. dinner i ordered which was supposed to have kimchi had no kimchi whatsoever. eel sushi was overcooked dry and shriveled up. rice used in sushi tasted like hard paste. you could not even spot individual pieces of rice. sorry for the bad review but these are the facts.
The service was terrible. We had to get up from our table and find an employee just to get a drink refill. I didn’t get any fresh ice for my iced tea, instead she brings over a small glass filled with ice, after she filled my glass to the top with warm tea. Our server came to our table once after taking our order and that was to clear our dishes and bring our check. What a disaster! The downtown location has better service.
Every time I get takeout from here, my order is wrong. Didn’t get any eel sauce on the roll I ordered tonight. Last time the spicy salmon Oscar had only plain salmon on it, absolutely no spice at all. There’s only about 3 rolls from here that I like because of how Americanized the menu is, and I almost never get them the way they’re supposed to come. I’m willing to pay a high price for a great meal, but it’s not fair to charge an arm and a leg if the quality is frequently under par.
Love coming here for lunch. They have a great lunch specials menu. I like to get the as much food as you want option. It is well worth the money. Lava drop, volcano are their best in my opinion. The seaweed salad is a good starter as well. It may seem a bit pricey but the amount of food you get its worth it.
I took my wife to Blu Sushi last night for a date and we had an incredible time. The hostess greeted us immediately. Our server Jordan was AWESOME‼️ Our cocktails and sushi had excellent presentation as well taste. Thank you for a wonderful evening!!!!
I placed a pickup order Monday morning the in which the black-haired hostess, which I sadly did not catch her name, was very accommodating to my modified order (due to allergies) which I greatly appreciated the sushi was delicious and knowing that the staff cared about my restrictions I appreciate more than anything will be coming back and bringing some along friends with me!
It was my worst experience ever! We came on Thursday , it was very busy! I loved the place- beautiful, live music and I was so exited to try their sushi.... Then we were waiting like 40 minutes or more and I ordered just 2 sets of rolls - Spider and Philly , and when they finally brought to our table and we tried ...Oh God ! Rolls were cold, thick layer of rice, absolutely tasteless, just yuck!!!!! They were in a fridge couple days??? So if you want enjoy real sushi --- nope, not there!! I dont have any desire to ever come back there
We are from Fort Lauderdale and were looking for a good sushi spot! Thank God we read the reviews and noticed that the bad stars are just because of “masking”. The food was amazing!!! Really well done sushi the lobster roll was really yummy and our favorite was the “say what baby” something like that lol. Well balanced flavors, size of the sushi was great and freshness was all there. If you are not okay with servers not wearing a mask, not the place for you. Stay home and order take out. Really good sushi!
Wonderful experience, great service, great drinks, fair prices for great sushi, great prices for unique drinks, definitely a lovely date night spot to go to, service was very relaxed, didnt feel rushed, and also enjoyed the atmosphere, thank you BluSushi! This location specifically is so well hidden but is one of those smaller hidden gems to find 💎.
By far this is the BEST sushi that I’ve had in the states!!! The staff if freaking amazing! The noodles were on point too.
Had an awesome dinner. Sashimi appetizer with cilantro salsa was amazing. Drinks were good, wife had a specialty drink and I liked it too but, I quickly went back to my Stella. The place is nice and upbeat. Exactly what a 30+ year old is looking for before a night on the town. Pricing was not bad, but I am from NY. In NY I pay almost double. Honestly, I will pay good money for fresh fish. I rather be partying the night away with my wife and not the toilet. Thanks.
Decor is nice and the happy hour prices are decent. Unfortunately, the sushi is uninspiring and the service is poor. Bartenders are more interested in talking to each other than making drinks, even in a mostly empty bar. Sushi was decent, but bland. Definitely not worth the price they charge. Especially for mostly imitation meat and white fish based combinations.Come in for drinks, but be prepared to wait and skip the food.
Ordered for pick up. the lady on the phone was mean and the lady at the counter was rude. they filled up our soups halfway.
Stopped in for lunch. They offered a great lunch special. I got the Lava drops and some eel sashimi that I really enjoyed. It looks like they offer a all-u-can-eat menu which looks pretty interesting and I hope to try out one day!
Alyssa gave me the best service Ive ever had here. She always refilled my drink and brought out my food quickly and was very kind. The food here is the best in town I refuse to go anywhere else for sushi! Do the endless blue if you can eat two or more sushi rolls its worth it!!!
We used to enjoy going here for Sushi, it seems like the last couple of times we have gone there have been issues. One time there was a plastic wrapper in our food. Lately the service has been less than desired.Update: We have been back since we originally wrote this review. Still less than impressed. There are much better options available.
I just ordered take out from here and I have never had such bad sushi in my life. I don’t know how this place stays in business. Literally the grocery store sushi is better. I threw away my order after trying one piece of each of the three rolls I ordered. The presentation was great… the sushi tasted horrible.
Been several times and this time was no different. Very limited selection of fish. Salmon and tuna dominate the menu with American ingredients like fried shrimp, cream cheese, and the usual others. It took quite a long time for our small order with three chefs on the line and less than 15 people to serve. There were two servers and one bartender for the front and our glasses were filled twice with water in the first ten minutes, none for the last 45.This was the final trip to Blu Sushi, the overall experience falls well short of the asked prices.
Great sushi and beautiful outdoor eating area.
Not good at all. The restaurant is overdone as is their menu. We were unable to sit outside because everyone was smoking. Inside, club music was blaring. The menu lacked basic items that one would expect to see when ordering Japanese cuisine. Our food was overpriced and paled in comparison to other sushi places. We also received much less sushi than is typical. Also of concern is that the raw fish in our meal did not seem to be sushi grade. Overall, it was an expensive and disappointing experience.
The service was fine and the sushi was good but I highly recommend to NOT get a bento box... Or at least not the Korean beef. It was basically sandwich roast beef with some sauce on it and neither the beef nor the sauce really had any flavor. I literally ate one bite and couldnt tolerate any more.
Food is tremendous. Service even better. Best martinis in the area . Jesse and Dominikka ( sorry for spelling if it’s wrong ) were 2 of the best bar tenders I’ve ever had the pleasure of being served by and there’s been millions. I like Going out and this is my favorite spot thanks to them and all the people that work there
This was probably my worst experience with a sushi/sashimi restaurant bar. It was definitely the WORST octopus ever; barely chewable! So glad I didn’t order sea urchin as I would truly be disappointed if that little delicacy had been bad! The Blue Sunset Roll was good. The seaweed salad had something spicey in it; fresh tasting otherwise. The menu was limited for such a nice case. Lastly, drinks are not worth $11.Live and learn!
Fresh Sushi, wonderful atmosphere, and incredible service from Dominika. I would highly recommend this location for any sushi lovers. I ate the “Fish your own” Roll with salmon and a Philly roll. Had the delicious chocolate lava cake for dessert. They have “Endless Blue” everyday from 11:30am-2pm: unlimited sushi from a menu with variety for a fair price (varies between $14.95-$16.95 depending on season).
Food was good but the service was sub par. It took nearly 35 minutes for our first order of sushi when there was only 3 other couples in the restaurant at lunch time. Sushi was fresh and PB&J rolls on point. Just super disappointing to wait forever in between rolls and for refills. It took almost 2 hours for lunch just waiting on service and most staff is not very friendly.
A few of us from Southern Technical College were there today for lunch and had Olivia as our server. She did an awesome job with the level of service she provided. Not to mention, the food was good too!
Really good food, service wasnt the best. Waitress came & went. Gave us our drinks & waited 10-15 minutes to order. Wasnt even busy. Supervisor gave us food. Not waitress. Sushi was amazing not long of a wait & ordered three. Waitress took 2 minutes to get us out of the restaurant though. Gave us check & brought back change in short time.
I do not recommend this place.I ordered a volcano roll and it was hard as a rock that I couldn’t even eat it. I called asked to talk to the manager and he told me that I had to order another one and pay again, I did. The same sushi volcano roll but at this time without crab it had just rice on it .... ugh I paid for something that I did not ate it . I do not recommend it
Sushi was delightful. Customer service was friendly. Restaurant is clean. Prices were great for the portions offered. Environment was kid friendly, and they do offer a kids menu.
DO NOT GO HERE if you are from outstate. The waitress wanted to verify our I.Ds because they look different, obviously we have Arizona ID. 10 minutes later the managertold us they were fake and he didnt even have ascanner. Horrible service andRUDE manager.
So disappointed. I love sushi and have favorite items at a handful of restaurants. I frequent this establishment and always order light rice & slice thin.Tonights order is heavy on rice. When you get delivery, you cant send it back. Way to ruin my stay-at-home Friday. There are a lot of great sushi restaurants that deliver....I suggest you dont use a delivery service with this place, because the food is really good, but they are not consistent
If I could put zero stars I would. Order was wrong and food was bad. Called to let them know and was transferred to Jason the manager who accused me of lying about the order being wrong and he said that I obviously wanted a discount even though I never once asked for one. I said that I only wanted to let him know and give him the opportunity to address it. He immediately said he was going to call and report Me lol and continued to chant this like a monk over and over whenever I tried to say anything And just kept yelling it over and over until he hung up on me. Absolutely insane interaction with someone who apparently is a manager. The worst customer experience I have had in a long time and not good food do not go!
Was there on Saturday, May 27th with my girlfriend while on vacation. The food was great, very fresh tasting. The service however, that was PATHETIC at best. Had to listen to a server talk about Fu***ng some dude and dropping every curse word in the book while sitting at the bar behind me. Watched the hostess and another server sit at the sushi bar and stuff their faces while talking with full mouths and coughing all over the glass. Then got to watch our server walk back and forth from the kitchen to another area stuffing her face and drinking while we sat at our table for 10 minutes or more with no drinks as we waited for our entrees. Great food horrible service and even worse attitudes.
Good sushi, authentic ingredients. It is a bit costly, there are more reasonable sushi places, but Blu has been very reliable and has gotten our order right every time, that makes it a solid 4 stars, maybe 4.2. Parking can be a nightmare depending on what time of day you go and how far out you are willing to park. Not their fault, all of the places there have this problem.
This place was fantastic. We bought 4 rolls (PB&J, SugarDaddy, Lava something and then one more I cant remember.) The staff was very nice, the décor was great and we had an awesome time. Probably the best sushi place in Ft Myers.
Always delicious and great service!! Our server remembered us from the previous visit which was nice. Friendly staff and fresh sushi! Also the bartender Dominika is awesome!! So friendly and very attentive!
Wasn’t much of a fan of sushi until I came here. After ordering, and eating the fare served here, I have become a solid fan of sushi. Great menu and delicious food. Would definitely recommend this unique specialty restaurant!
If you come here for lunch, expect to wait forever for your food. They tell the servers to drag out when they bring your food to you for the all you can eat special so you dont eat too much before its over. The food itself was mediocre. The spicy tuna roll was disgusting though and tasted like cat food, so I wouldnt suggest anyone order that.
Super disappointed...my fiancé and I frequent blu on McGregor for the delicious and creative rolls as well as our favorite server Leia. We stopped in last night for dinner and waited inside to ask the hostess for a table behind another party doing the same. When I got to the front I was greeted by “yes?” and when I asked for a table for two she said “it’s a 20 minute wait” we said no problem and asked if we could wait outside to which she replied “no one is going to be serving you for 20 minutes but sure”. Once outside we were “greeted” by who I assume was a manager, bussing tables. He said “it’s a 45 minute wait!” I told him we had been told twenty and would wait outside, he told us we could if we wanted to but said “we’re really slammed, I have 3 chefs working as fast as they can, I guess you can wait if you want to”. It was apparent that no one working could handle the “rush”(the restaurant was maybe half full). We go to blu maybe 2 or three times a month but might rethink that now. I guess if you’re going to go make sure they are in no way “busy”.
Ugh, such a disappointment... Bland sushi, overpriced cocktails and servers who dont seem to care. We sat at a mostly empty bar and werent served or refilled for a long time. A little too trendy with loud electronic music even in mid afternoon, it definitely attracts a young professionals crowd but it almost feels sleazy. Give it a try but dont be surprised by the disappointing service.
We visited Blu. Was very busy. We loved the atmosphere and the service was fast and attentive. The sushi was fresh and delicious. They have alot of fun cocktails. Definitely recommend
A place of Cutting Edge Cocktails, Incredible entertainment , gorgeous ladies, and food that makes your mouth water and Jaw drop. I highly recommend going here for anything from Gathering, Drinks with Friends, Big Events (Birthday, Anniversary, ect). They always have something new and fresh!
Ugh. Just left without eating anything even though we had a coupon for a free appetizer. The hostess didnt know whether or not they had a full bar. Lol. But far worse was just the dingy, unclean feel of everything. The sushi bar was kept like an old deli counter. No presentation, no art, no love.We avoid eating uncooked fish in a place where every subtle sign says We dont care.
Food was delicious, very slow service. The thing that ruined the experience for my husband and I was staff sitting a table away complaining non stop about the job. At one point our server actually sat down with them while we were waiting for our check. If it wasn’t for the food and drinks being great it would have been a 1 star.
I Loved this Place!! We ate at the bar and the ambiance worked well with the Blu motif blended with a traditional sushi bar function. Our pre-entree cocktails were gracious in strength and accurate to the recipes. I had an Old Fashioned and a Vodka Tonic.I ordered the Salmon Oscars and it was awesome! One caveat, which by no way was a deal breaker is that the outside was wrapped in a generous layer of fresh crab that made my eyes bug out when it came..But, the only salmon in the Salmon Oscars was a little dab at the center of the roll. Other than that, it delivers on flavor, visual appeal and spiciness that wasnt just a word on the menu description. The crown jewel of the night was the chilled milk saki (around $32 for 330ml) was both creamy in mouth feel and had an excellent booze kick that made you aware that this was serious saki. A great meal, great drinks and a must try
Great decor. Average pour for overpriced martinis. Service was slow even tho there were only 3 people at the bar. We were there early so maybe service picks up once the crowd arrives.
Fantastic! 5 stars… Fresh, delicious, and great service! Blue fin sashimi and the summer rolls were my favorite!
Pretty over-hyped in my opinion. The sushi is okay, but not worth what they charge for it. Service was good from the waitstaff, but waiting on food took quite some time. Catchy atmosphere, but sorry, the food is more important to me when it comes to dining.
We were really looking forward to their food. I had called 2 days prior to check if they were opening on Monday, and if the staff would be wearing face masks . They assured me they would. When we arrived Monday evening- no one had a face mask on. I asked- and was told no one had said anything about it. We went elsewhere, as I dont want someone without a mask in my face.
The entire experience was absolutely fantastic!!! Huge outside area with amazing seating options!!! We had an exquisite meal!!!
No face masks required on staff and none were worn. Despite advertisements for a “OR clean restaurant” no one wore masks, as would be required in any operating room. Amazing disregard for people’s safety. Never coming back.
Awesome food, clean and nice location. Awesome drinks and Saki and beautiful attentive young ladies looking after you.
This is a great place to come for sushi, everything is always fresh and delicious and they have a ton of awesome cocktails.. They have great happy hour deals and the best lunch specials including an awesome all you can eat option that is filled with lots of options.
Dominika (dom) is the best most attentive bartender and I love coming in to see her !
I spent almost 70.00 dollars. I got 2 chopsticks and 3 little packs of soy sauce. No other sauces. Will never go back. Soup was missing. Terrible
The sushi was excellent and the drinks amazing! The staff was all very knowledgeable and friendly. Wonderful experience. We’ll be back next time we’re down
Me my sister and my husband went to get sushi to go and as soon as we sat at the bar the bartender gave us a bad look and then my husband asked her if they had the lemon drop and she said what? Then she asked for his ID but with attitude he asked her to put his drink on his check and she said what with attitude again i think her name is Alyssa i dont want to confuse her with the other woman who was there she was being so helpful the woman that im talking about is a skinny blond hair
Everything was great just the Spicy Tuna roll was a little below par.
A generous 3☆ . I was looking for good sushi not just a good show. Portion size was good but otherwise Nothing special. Flavors just didnt sing. Not a lot of variety, most dr8nks were vodka, most rolls were Krab. Seemed like there was more for show here than actual substance. Inside had a funny odor and tvs competing with lighting seemed very distracting not zen like by any means. Bathroom was very unclean.Ill pass pn this place next time.
We used to eat here every other week, that past few years it has really gone down hill. Service is still great but taste not so good any more. Still better than most sushi in the area.
My family walked in and we were going to get a table. They said that it would take 30 min. I had called before and asked if we needed a reservation, and they said we didnt need one. Then, when I went to tell them that our family was leaving, there was no one at the station. There were many people in the service line and the place was packed, but the waitresses were in the back looking up but never coming. The music was blazing loud and was abnoxious. I was very disappointed with the amount of service that me and my family recieved.
The service is ALWAYS quick and friendly. Will be our go to moving forward. Even during busy times, it is still quiet and comfortable.
What a disgusting staff and management. This place is very bad, they are under staffed have horrible service, everyone has an attitude. The manager is unprofessional and has no idea on how to run a restaurant. This place is absolutely horrible.
Always a great time! This place is by far one of the best places to go to for Happy Hour!! Tasty sushi, amazing martinis, what more do I need to say. Highly recommended!!
Terrible sushi! !!!!! Ive been eating at blu sushi for years!!! This is the second time i happen to be around the mcgregor location and the sushi is cold, refried, NOT FRESH.i finally asked the manager what was going on with the sushi....his answer was oh, yes, is refried. so i asked its always like that? His answrr was yeah.My server was excellent.Surprised they made pay 18 dollars for some sushi i didnt even liked, or ate.Very very dissapointed ..
Such a good place the best volcano rolls ever. I wish they would put a BLU sushi at mercato in Naples !!!
Great place for lunch, service is excellent and very reasonable prices. If youre not familiar with this plaza, there is a small parking area in front but plenty .ore parking behind the building.
Awesome sushi restaurant. Ive never been to a more trendy or modern restaurant in my life. The food and drinks are awesome, the music and service are superb. Its not just a restaurant its an experience. I hope they open more locations.
My bf and I went here and were very dissapointed. Iv been visiting Blu for years now every winter. Id go as far as to say 10 years. The zulu shrimp is always to die for. But this time it wasnt as good. Whatever we ordered a spicy samurai roll which is soposed to include :yellowtail, tuna and wahoo mixed with miso mayo, sesame oil, scallions, cucumber and jalapeno rolled inside out with avocado and smelt roe on top drizzled with sirracha. The roll we recieved was 1)lacking in flavor 2)had no jalapeno or smelt roe 3)had no scallions. The yellow tail roll we ordered was similarly flavorless aside from the taste of rice. Not to mention our waitress had to be flagged down for each order or drink request. Yes this place used to have KILLER sushi...maybe we came in on a bad night? Super saddened.
I love this place, especially their lunch all you can eat menu. The dinner menu is not bad, but I prefer the lunch one. However, the dinner menu has much more selections.
Staff is not required to wear face masks and don’t. This is a small thing to do so that all guests feel comfortable in dining. I went to another sushi place instead.
Awful service. Super slow, waited 10 minutes to be seated or even acknowledged for that matter. Then another 30 minutes to receive my check after i was already done. The place was not even busy for that type of lack of attention.
I always enjoy the food and drink at Blu Sushi. Staff is wonderful, food is great. Theres plenty of seating indoors and out. ENJOY!
Great atmosphere. Staff have been so friendly to my guests and the sushi selection is one of the best in SW Florida.
This place blew my mind with their food! I thought that I have had good sushi before but this place put everything before to shame!! The PB&J is great but the crab bombs are heaven!!
Always a great destination for sushi. The endless ayce sushi lunch special is an awesome deal. The quality and size of the portions are very impressive.
Excellent shoe store, Back Room.
Very nice restaurant. If you love sushi, or even if you only like it a little, Blue Sushi is a must. Prices are reasonable and the food is great.
Service was less than desirable. Got sat, waited nearly 15minutes before anyone acknowledged our presence. Food was on par with other Blu locations.
My bartender was amazing very nice. Food was great didnt have to wait long, definitely would recommend!
Frequent this place often. This time was for a going away party and they hosted about 12 of us for lunch. Great food and service.
Good food, service and atmosphere. The sushi does seem a bit overpriced compared to some other local options however.
They have a great lunch special with all you can eat sushi that goes until 215pm. Great service and the outdoor experience is nice
Quality has gone down. Used to be great. Now only fair. Wont come back except for happy hour. Unlimited lunch too slow and too much rice.
Cant beat this place for Sushi. Great atmosphere, and the service is professional and not over the top. Very comfortable place to have dinner.
This is the best sushi in Southwest Florida. I order it from Uber Eats directly to my door in Cape Coral. Its perfect every time!
Very quaint spot. The California roll and the Dragon roll were very good. The Miso had excellent flavor.
Best Sushi spot in Ft. Myers. Staff is fantasic and fish is quality. They will even build you a custom roll as long as you provide the chef the specifics.
We go there all the time for the all you can eat sushi lunch and it is absolutely amazing! The turn around is enough time to be able to enjoy your food and eat as much as you can at the same time.
Called for a pickup order.( stated that at the beginning) was told yo hold please. 15minutes later they come back on and say no pick up orders.
Wanted to place an order for pick up at 10pm was told the kitchen was closed even though they close at 11. Disgusted with the customer service. I was so disappointed not worth it. They didnt even care.
I get sushi to go from here all the time. Ive never been disappointed. Great sushi! 🍣10/10 highly recommend!
Clean, modern restaurant, cozy, and good service everytime. My personal favorite place to go for sushi. (Sugar Daddy roll is by FAR the best)
Love their Happy Hour and everything about it too!
For the price and being in Florida, I expected better sushi. It was sub-par. Wait staff was friendly but overworked. Would not recommend.
All you can eat? Bomb. I feel bad as I made money today. Honestly had a great experience with staff and excellent sushi. Great price for all you can eat and all tastes great.
Food was excellent but none of the staff wears masks - if you are sensitive to this you should probably find another sushi place
Great service with great food equals a wo derful experience. If you are looking for a great place to eat especially for lunch i highly recommended this location.
One of the worst sushi places I have ever been to. The manager was extremely rude and nasty - he refused to make any accommodation for the poor quality of the food - was not fresh - kitchen looked like a disaster - was not clean. Avoid!
Great place to eat fresh sushi. Great drinks. Super clean inside and out. Would definitely return and recommend
The desserts were delicious. Sushis are okay although for a place that only serves sushi, could do better.
Awesome, great tasting sushi and artistic presentation!Service was 5
A baseball size portion of rice in each roll, fat man you want sushi, have some rice and more rice and eat rice. Some of the worst sushi I have ever eaten. A joke, all you can eat is consisting of 99% rice and 1% fish. Stay away and spend your $$ somewhere else, unless you like rice.
Super fresh sushi. Great happy hour selections. Sushi chef was extremely attentive ... The wait staff not so much.
Don’t ever place an order with Uber Eats they can’t figure out how to read the order that comes across on their tablet, I called the manager tonight after they screwed up my order… Not only did they charge me for sushi I didn’t get but they can’t figure out how to actually deliver the sushi I paid for that they didn’t deliver to me… They have really good sushi but a terrible management team and terrible delivery team… When I talk to the manager tonight he didn’t really care that I didn’t get my sushi,
The sushi was ok. Atmosphere was nice. Staff was kind and had great suggestions for best sake for the money.
If you like sushi at all this is not the place to go- sashimi is ok, looks nice inside.
Best happy hour in town. Love this place and its servers. Food is awesome
Blu sushi McGregor is one of the best spots for sushi. Awesome staff. Awesome cocktails. Ask for the Spicy edamame.
Had 15 people at our table and the service was great. Food was excellent, everybody was friendly and very helpful
Much better than the down-town location, but Its still probably our least favorite sushi place in the area
Amazing as PER NORMAL... EMRAH SEVINCH...And BODIE...RUN A TIGHT SHIP..!!!WE ARE fisherman....SO..we KNOW FRESH....YOU WILL LOVE THERE THEIR MANGO ROLL!!
Drove down from Port Charlotte the Wife and I for our 27th year anniversary lunch. Awesome !
Sushi is delicious, and its all you can eat for lunch, service is a bit on the slower side for not being busy and having many servers working
The happy hour food and drinks are amazing! Good atmosphere and staff is super friendly
Out of all blu sushi locations this is my favorite... in a great location, always clean, always delicious, they are pretty fast getting your food out as well..
