Cool space, sound was good but the bar sucked. Paid for two expired beers. Gave the first one back to the bartender after two sips said it was old. (From a brewery that Im pretty sure shut down so thats not that surprising) Then I got a different one. Had an expiration date of that day. Made my partner try it to make sure I wasnt crazy: it was old and off.Switched to liquor after that, but it was genuinely a bummer to pay for 2 beers that I didnt even actually drink because they were old.Stick to liquor and its a fun night for sure. Management should take better quality control of their stock. Even if theres no date: try them sometimes and make sure they arent stale and sour
Nice intimate venue for a concert. Nice area upstairs. The parking lot is a bit confusing since it is shared with a pizza place and signs says towing if youre not there for pizza and a small section for the club, however attendants for the club said we could park anywhere in contradiction to the sign, worked out fine in the end (not towed).
Originally a bank in the 1920.’s. Now lobby a seating and stage. The vault backstage and dressing rooms. It closed as a venue in 1997 to be a wedding and private events hall and started hosting concerts again in. 2016venue is great good acoustics. Full bar and intimate experience only a small venue can provide. The staff is great the drinks are strong.Ample parking directly behind Rockefeller’s
2nd Post Rona show. Came up from South Padre Island to get our much needed Vallejo fix. This venue is nice sized and allows a up close and personal experience even with the authoritain Communist flu mask requirements. Drinks were full strength and only $5 bucks! The staff were attentive and Fully Texas Friendly. Weve been listening to Vallejo for decades, although this performance was on the gritty side, the boys played their hearts out and they left it all on the stage. There was nothing left to question! With several guest appearances during the show it just added another dimension to an already hard rocking band. Thank you for the Highway to Hell cover. It pays to advertise!! Although not our forte, Black Heart Saints opened the show and definitely got the crowd enthusiastic and energetized for the main event. Needless to say, we will be waiting for the next iteration of Vallejo. Gentlemen, Thanks again.. Plotted. Scouts Out..
Poetry night was amazing!!!! It’s small in the inside, but it was actual perfect! It was a whole vibe. Had great seats and all of the vendors had some great merch.
Great view from the balcony. Elvis and the Doors tribute bands sounded great!
Folklore selected bands performing in a cozy oldish place reflecting a wonderfully friendly and lovely atmosphere.
Went to hear live music on a Sunday. The Bayou City Soul Band was AWESOME. The Band and Singers were having so much fun. They were very engaging. Motown Classics, R & B, Aaron Nevilles, Soul Classics was non-stop. The atmosphere was so hype and it felt right. We will be back... every 1st Sunday 6pmYou gotta be there 🎶
The building was beautiful it would make a great place for a wedding graduation party anniversary. But the band was probably the worst band Ive ever listened to. They need to go back into their moms garage. No food, you can order from the restaurant next door but even that was made difficult.on the bright side if you wanted to just use the venue the parking was good, its easy to find, there are several restaurants in the vicinity.
Rockefellers was the perfect venue for our wedding reception! Mike was extremely helpful and always answered our emails and calls promptly. He was super open to all of our ideas and really helped us make our vision come to life! All our guests thought it was such a unique venue and had an amazing time. We had about 170 guests and it was perfect. There are 2 bars, one upstairs and one downstairs, which was very convenient. The balcony is lovely, and the venue rental fee and bar prices are super reasonable compared to other venues in Houston! Thank you Mike and Rockefellers for an unforgettable night!
Great venue for live music. Genres that perform here are diverse so it cant just be Jazz, Blues, Indy, etc. Parking can be a struggle sometimes, but I always get there early!
Great venue. Experienced a live-music show here, when a buddy rented the place and booked this particular singer & band. This spots atmosphere was very conducive to the whole live singing, live music, open mic type set! Too, it was VERY clean & appealing
No restroom for the upstairs balcony area, but they charge more. Bar upstairs is ok for beer but not mixed drinks. Bartender was horrible, cant mix a simple drinks. Overall a smaller venue great place to catch a show. Parking is very limited get there early to get a spot otherwise youll have walk a couple of blocks.
I really enjoyed the intimacy between everyone, the venue is a little smaller than others but it brought everyone closer together and people were packed. some might not like how much contact theyre making with others, but there is plenty of breathing space if you go upstairs while still getting a good view of the stage.
Beautiful historic small venue which hosts small concerts. Small parking area but staff help you find a spot and parking was free. There is no kitchen so eat before you go. (There is a big pizza place next door.) Staff at door were exceptionally nice. Clean bathroom. (Great vibe in this place - a friend said he saw Stevie Ray Vaughan play there many, many years ago.) We went to see some 80s tribute bands (Radio Duran and Lectric Eye) and had a great time!
We were there for a private event. Great crowd, so we had a blast. The venue was excellent for an event that included a live band. But the loss of 2 stars is due to the layout. The event included food served buffet-style. They had to split the buffet into two rooms upstairs, and the area in which to eat the food was dedicated to the balcony area, which lacked of space and only had tiny tables to dine at (they are cocktail tables, so two dinner plates didnt really even fit on one...granted, that size table makes sense for an event with only drinks and hors doeuvres, but for this event much larger tables were warranted).
Ive been here twice to see some bands place. I love this venue. I also like that you can go upstairs and overlook the who ever is performing on the stage. The staff is very friendly. I must warn, there is a regular who comes here, hes quite entertaining.
A tiny glass of wine was 13 bucks as was a regular can of bud light. No out door area or smoking area. Staff was not friendly. Really neat old place however and I hope with time they find a better balance between making a profit and having reasonably priced drinks.
I had my wedding reception here and it was amazing and my guests still talk about it 4 years later. The coordinators and staff were very accommodating to a Korean tea ceremony that I wanted to include at the beginning of the reception. I had a full house of 250 guests and everything went smoothly. There were two dinner lines and bars (upstairs and downstairs) and the complimentary valet service was quick and very efficient with no waiting ever. All the low lit lights and abundant candles made the entire place look so romantic. I cant get over how easy they made planning the reception, and it had everything to do with Lisa and Deborah at Rockefeller Hall.Lisa also did all of my wedding flowers and those turned out beautiful.
Great band! Live that you can see the band well from any area of the venue. Downstairs and upstairs bars. All bathrooms are downstairs- long night with high heels can be bummer with hiking up and down.
Went to Sugar Shack a few weeks ago. The venue still has that old feel to it but, for some reason the lights were kept on during the entire show which to me is very off putting. Drink prices are about average and at least they have an overflow parking lot now. Definitely needs some improvement.
Venue has a mature vibe, nice and clean. Solid bar and bartenders, friendly staff. All drinks, no food, but handy menus are there for Star Pizza next door. Parking guys are excellent and helpful. Free parking, should tip the dudes, though. They dont ask; just my opinion.
Rockefellers is a converted bank that was for several years one of the more personal music venues in town. Several years ago they stopped being a public venue, concentrating on private functions. Their return to presenting public events is welcome. This is an intimate space, meaning quite small. My most recent visit was for a comedy function. The staff was friendly, the drinks were strong, and I had fun. I look forward to seeing who else they book.
The crew and staff were great!...Sound out front not so much. Continuous feedback all night long. No clarity in the vocals... someone needs to re-think the speaker placement.
Love this venue. Very spacious and clean. Bar is ok but bartenders are very nice and friendly.
Really nice venue, small place though. I can imagine only a small band playing or a small party being held. It has an upstairs and downstairs, parking was a little far away for it, just across the street.
The venue isnt bad but the bands took forever to show up and when they did, they made the whole audience sit through sound check. Its like Cmon; get there early and get your stuff done. Unorganized and unprofessional.
Awesome low key venue for smaller shows!
Went to the location for a vaccine, very clean, not super spacious but well lit Venue. I would definitely not be disappointed to come here for any other event.
Venue is nice. The workers are nice. Upstairs and downstairs. Pretty Roomy space. Right across from HEB in Heights and directly next to Star pizza.
Beautiful, intimate venue! Got to see Maria Bamford live and it was one of the best date nights ever!
Rockefeller Hall is a high class, top notch, creative, timely, genuine, as well as trusting business and venue whom provides superior service. You will not be disappointed if you select Rockefeller for your event.I am so lucky to say I was married there - and I am so incredibly happy this was the venue we chose to celebrate our special occasion in.Also, there is so much to take in when you step into the building - if the walls could talk - the history is amazing.Thank you!!! - Kristyn & Morgan
It has been 24 years since I walked through Rockefellers front door. It was like being back home! Great venue...great show!!!
Had a fantastic night last night with friends and family. Staff was awesome. Learned that Rockefellers was on e a bank and Bonnie and Clyde once robbed it. 😳 Lol good time had by all
Went years ago .. Great place with alot of history. Will revisit.
1st time visiting, loved it! Great location, nice atmosphere, awesome live band, tasteful drinks. Will return
Nice location to throw an event and they have parking and a bar. 2 floors
Around about 1982 or 83, I traveled a lot through Rockefellers. Happy to report that I have survived this era, as I was employed, embedded deeply in the entertainment industry... Touring Levels. ROCKEFELLERS was our home for relaxation, when home, in Houston Texas. Relaxing it was, Friday night, catching LUPE OLIVAREZ and Friends Live @ Rockefellers. Ambience was the same quality as I remember! Drinks were liquor of quality, fewer table tops which was nice. Felt like I was visiting with old friends. Downstairs, upstairs, backstage... Its pretty much the same as the 80 days, which is good. Now feeling at home again, in a new era, for sure! Excellent evening at ROCKEFELLERS with the showmanship of Lupe Olivarez!
Great spot. Excellent bartenders & staff. Fantastic place to host a party.
Beautifully restored theater excellent for intimate live music performances. Very cool vibe, with a well-stocked bar and a pleasant staff.
Very nice venue to see live music. I dont think there is a bad seat in the house!
Small intimate venue, great for bands and comedy shows. Upper level is great.
Rockefeller was an awesome venue and we had an awesome time watching local bands! High Desert Queen was an awesome show!
Rockefeller Hall is a special place because I had my wedding there in the Norma Zenteno band played...and Norma sang...this was in 2012.... so this past Friday they had a zenteno spirit playing to raise money for a statue of Norma Zenteno..An absolutely amazing houstonian that lost her life to cancer and has left a lot of sadness behind absolutely amazing Spirit wonderful person, friend , mother, sister... I pray that they do raise enough and I know that she is dearly missed and definitely one person that really deserves it
What a great historic venue for a concert! This place is definitely on my radar now, we cant wait to go back.
Small venue makes it feel personal for concerts. Staff is very nice and the cost of drinks are reasonable.
Always loved attending concerts here.
Cool venue, was cooler in 1979 when still had old bank vault behind band, but still cool 1920 bank turned venue.
It was actually pretty enclosed and a lot smaller than I thought. The parking was great though; they had two people guiding everyone where to go.
We had a friend in a power chair with us for a show recently, and the staff here could not have been more accommodating, friendly, or helpful. Rockefellers rocks!
Great place to see live music. Great staff. Upstairs surrounds floor for overhead viewing of stage.
Great venue. Old 30s bank.
Nice setting. Good for shows and evens. It can be a small venue though.
Great location for live music! This was an old bank and converted to a small music venue.
Good venue for small-medium shows. Personal feel without sacrificing good acoustics or space.
Well its about time ! I had WAR on my talk show back in the day then went to see them in person. As PD for KPFT FM 90.1 the S.A. based band The Krayolas played a benefit there for the station. I did a wimp butt intro but the band blew it out.Sent Stevie Ray back to KPFT on what we used to call the Marties. Microwave signal relays that plugged right into the mixer up on the second floor. Because the sight line ran downhill to Montrose the pickups up on the short tower at the station got a great stereo mix. Very cool.Rockefellers nights baby!
Perfect size for this event!! Will definitely be back!
Went here for a concert. Small venue, good bar with stiff drinks, really cozy and intimate atmosphere.
My husbands dads band played here a few weeks ago. Cool little place to liaten to some music and have a few beers.
Arrived just in time to see Daniel Franzese! Very nice looking venue
Smaller venue but very controlled. It 2as good.... no complaints!
Went here for as event. Great location for a venue, however, it could benefit from some updating.
Beautiful spacious venue, perfect for a wedding or a rock concert!
This is a perfect place for a wedding or Communion/Bar Mitzva. Gorgeous historic building with good parking.
Super cool venue with an old school feel to it. Great for any event!
Always a great venue with great sound!
Awesome venue to do concerts, my daughter was there to support her School of Rock classmates..
The people are really friendly, rooms are clean, beds are comfortable and I love the pillows!!
An amazing facility for whatever your dreams want to make it into
I took my son here to see a led zeppelin cover band. The crowd wasnt managed well. People bully to the front without any action from management. No food for sale here either.
Beautiful venue. Theyve done a superb job in remodeling. This is vintage Houston!
Ive loved this venue since the 80s and glad to see it come back to life. Long live Rockefellers!
And absolutely amazing experience had a wonderful time we need more events that help our people invest
Amazing location for any event. The inside of the building has so much characters.
Great staff especially the bar tenders.Mike helped us with our wedding reception greatly!
This is a nice place but the layout of the balcony is odd. Investigate before choosing your spot.
Great bar from what I remember havent been there since they reopen Im sure its still Rockin Little Joint
Very interesting place. Great for private party or corporate event.
The Certified Funny Comedy Show was absolutely amazing.. Great Venue.. Great Night
Great small music venues - but sound could be better.

Great music venue! Not a bad seat!
Went for the Whiskey Brothers Review and it was great! Good bar staff as well
Attended a private Halloween party. Not sure how much of our experience was Rockefellers and how much was the host.
Beautiful venue, close to Star Pizza too!
Great place to see a show
Beautiful wedding celebration in this beautiful building.
Cool venue for live music in the middle of the city!

Not a bad place for some live music.
Great old venue. A real piece of history!!
Very nice venue for a private party.
One of the most historic, storied music venues in H-Town.
Venue is in great shape, too bad the ambient noise drowns out the performance.
Great venue to see live shows.
Beautkful venue, small but intimate. 18+ only beware
