We were in the area because last November, my stepdaughter was in a Marching Band Championships called the Bands of America and this was the very first place we visited for something to eat and drink after we got in and got established. Good Service, Great Atmosphere, & Delicious Food. If were ever back in town for whatever reason. Were definitely come back here.
The music sadly sucked bigtime.Alot of the history and most likely the vibe of a cool bar left long time ago. I really hope the experience at our visit was just an mishap from our side regarding the choice of mysic. Nashville tennesse set a tone that we had very good memories from. So rub it off,and we do it again. We all can have a bad day at work, all if us.
Quaint old building houses the bar and restaurant. Good pub food and selection of beers although they didnt have the pale beer my daughter ordered and substituted another, darker beer, from the same company without asking, bringing it popped open. Service was very slow to get our initial order, about 30 minutes to even order a drink. But the food came out quickly after that, although one of the entrees wasnt correct. We ordered the evenings special crabcake sliders listed on the sign at the entrance, but the waitress brought the burger sliders by accident. When the error was pointed out, she checked and the crab cake sliders werent available, which was disappointing. Would have ordered a different entree, not burger sliders if we had been informed because one of us had already ordered a different burger for his entree, and we wanted to try a variety of food. Luckily, all the food was delicious. The live entertainment was really good and helped us forget the food service.
Go here because It’s the oldest bar in the state and that’s cool. Go here because It’s got live blues musicians all the time and that’s cool. The food is bar food, the beer is cold, the service was friendly and attentive. Easy to walk to and close to the stadium and monument circle. Definitely worth checking out.
RODNEY!! What a legend that guy was! When we walked in to the Slippery Noodle based on a recommendation from a friend who is a colts fan, we didn’t know exactly what to expect! What we found was a server named Rodney who showed these 4 Canadian guys a great time!! Even though we weren’t there for a long time it was a good time as we grabbed some drinks and Rodney even showed us around the areas of the bar that weren’t fully open during lunch time! I tried the Slippery Noodle Stcks and they were awesome! Think giant Mozzarella Sticks with a generous portion of Marinara! Would highly recommend this place and can’t wait to come back and see a concert here someday!
I went here for lunch and ordered the French Onion soup and the Vegas Burger, which was so delicious. Then, I went back later that night with some friends, and there is a cover charge because they had a band, the cover charge to eat in there for dinner. Its great food, but I wouldnt go back when there is a band in there for that cover charge. We just wanted to eat dinner. So, I would stop by again for lunch but not for dinner. The Vegas Burger is very delicious.
Great place to listen to music and hand out with friends and family. The band is always great, 3rd time visiting and this time was the greatest. Got a tour of the underground passage under this beautiful historical building. Authentic bones to this building and the tour guide gives you great history. I will be back again... great service, friendly people. Great atmosphere!
If you didnt already know; oldest Bar in Indy; Hallowed n eclectic crowd. Have a free lot to park in as Ive found it can be tricky to find parking in the area and downtown indy in general. Im from Detroit so I love historic and proper dive/hole in the wall vibes. This place is huge and confusing if u ever the back of the place and make your way to the main bar. I didnt get to catch a band but.. I was served a yuengling in a frozy mug.. bought a shirt.. Definitely a proper bar and worth a stop for a seasoned drinker. Heard they have jazz bands all the time lol. See ya soon 🔥
We went here to see the band Higher Standards. The server was less than enthused to be there, but he got the job done well, so cant complain lol.Our food was all good.I will say--- the buffalo shrimp... is not buffalo. Dont order it. Youll be disappointed to received kids meal quality popcorn shrimp. The Bosco sticks were good, as was our food. I got the Mahi sandwich. My husband got a burger.Atmosphere-- the stage is elevated and the room was greatWould definitely go back!
Great history behind this corner bar. The oldest bar in Indiana did not disappoint. Right downtown across from the stadium. Met a local friend for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the food, service, and ambiance. I had the shaved steak sub with the onion rings. Our waiter was the excellent and friendly. Food was perfect and quick.
Ive been coming to Indianapolis for more than 30 years. Ive probably driven by this place a million times. Is very unassuming but when you walk inside oh my gosh. It was such a fun and lively place and it wasnt even during the time when they had their bands planned. The food was awesome and everybody there was extremely friendly. This is a definite Make it on your to-do list when you visit Indianapolis.
We had a great night at the Slippery Noodle. They have an excellent beer selection, very friendly and helpful servers, and just the sort of vibe that makes you want to hang around for a while and come back. I couldve listened to the band all night (even if they got too loud for my taste the longer they played). They also have a fantastic bourbon selection, but stick to a neat or rocks pour.Im looking forward to returning soon.
In my opinion my favorite bar in all of Indianapolis. Prices for drinks are good. Ambiance is great. Bartenders are nice.
I love the music they have at this venue. I got a burger last visit and it was so so. The patty definitely was a processed frozen patty. Tasted okay. My sons wings were great he said. Tots were good. Service was good. Pretty good drink prices also.
This place is a locals spot filled with amazing history and equally amazing people. The food offerings are really good and pair well with the beers on tap! They also have various spirits on hand. The spirits on hand are both of an alcoholic nature, and that of a supernatural variety. If you happen to visit at a non-busy hour, some of the staff are knowledgeable on the history about the structure and hauntings within! If you ask nicely and politely, perhaps they may give you a brief tour. Of course, if its busy, probably not a good time to inquire. If you discover yourself in the area, and want the company of good people, good food, a good neighborhood vibe, good spirits and great history, this is the spot! Or perhaps your significant other is working remotely from their room, and you find yourself wondering the area, this is definitely the spot! Either way, stop in, have a beverage along with a meal and enjoy!!!
Went here with my boyfriend and had a spectacular time! He really loved the live music and seeing him happy made this place even better. The food was quite delicious and the staff was welcoming. The inside however felt like a dark, neon lit maze! Lots of tables to sit at and the bar was located in a good spot.
The oldest bar in Indy and a downtown staple. Perfect bar for a Colts pregame as it’s in walking distance to Lucas Oil Stadium. This place is rich in history and has a great vibe.Bar area isn’t huge but there is a ton of seating in several different sections throughout and a small bar in the upstairs area.Food is decent and everything is reasonably priced but I would recommend going to for the bar and not necessarily the food.
I had the 11 piece wings. It’s a lot of food. Thick meaty wings. Great flavor. The waitress was awesome. Always checking on us and getting our drinks quickly. The music was amazing. It was a great place to hang out with friends, Eat, Drink and listen to Blues!
Ive been meaning to visit the Slippery Noodle since I started working in Indianapolis and today was finally the day! I was not disappointed. Even though I ate by myself at 5 pm and the bar was far from full there is a vibe about this place. I had the breaded tenderloin (i miss those not living in Indiana these days) and it was awesome! I think Ill be back soon.
Driving cross country last month and decided to go about 45 minutes out of the way to hit this classic Indianapolis bar that I had heard good things about. I arrived around 5:00 p.m. and just plan to sit at the bar and have a burger and beer. I got stopped by a bouncer at the door who told me Id have to pay a $20 or $25 cover. I asked him if there was a band or music playing and he said there would be at 7:00 p.m. but I had to pay now. I told him I was literally going to be there for 30 minutes sitting at the bar right next to him to have a burger and beer and would be heading out after to continue my drive, meaning I wouldnt have a chance to enjoy the music that they were charging a cover charge for. He gave me a nasty look and said, I dont care you still have to pay. Needless to say, I didnt pay the cover charge and left. Cant comment on the food or atmosphere but as someone who has lived in both Boston and New York City and traveled extensively, I have to say this was one of the most absurd and rude doormen I have encountered. Maybe a great bar and an institution in Indianapolis but I wont recommend it and wont be going back.
Cool bar. Online menu is what we looked at because we didn’t get a menu or a server for 15 mins. The online menu wasn’t accurate to what the actual menu was. It’s Indy 500 weekend so it’s busy but you would assume they would prepare for higher volume of customers. Service was insanely slow. Food was decent besides the menu just not being accurate. Also for a place named after noodles they only have 4 different noodle plates. Super thrown off. Noodles also were not slippery.
We went durning gencon at around 1130pm. The place was busy but still easy enough to find a seat to play some board games and get some food/drinks.The mixed drinks were less then 10 dollars each!
Great historic bar. Good food, fair prices, great servers. Chicken Philly sub was delicious. Stop by if in Indy. Its a local institution.
This historic site is not only famous for its rocking blues tradition, but the architecture as well. The interior maze of rooms offered cozy bars areas and a massive venue with balconies. When the Bands jams, its impossible to not move to the enticing grooves !!The food was generous in portions and in variety. If you like the Blues, dont miss going here, its always a good time !!
The band I play in, Another Fine Mess, or AFM for short, had its debut at The Slippery Noodle Inn on 3/9/24. The entire experience was awesome. Superb staff, amazing atmosphere, really super clientele. We were stoked to play there now anxious to return. Despite a huge amount of people, the service was fast, with delicious food, great drink prices. Thanks to The Noodle for everything.
Really great portions and a unique interesting atmosphere. The bosco sticks are truly to die for. Vegetarian options were also pretty solid.
Got to watch a jam session on Thursday night. Stayed for 3 hours. Food is kinda greasy American but in the best way. Mozz sticks, fried mushrooms, and a Ruben all were excellent. I really stayed for the beer and music!Seems like a tight knit local spot and Im grateful for being able to sit in and listen to all the musicians who played. All of the sets were strong and had me tapping my foot all night long
Super cool spot, easy to get in and out of. Good pours with cocktails, usually a cover charge later if there is live music so keep that in mind.
Terrible customer service. I called and asked if they can hear me okay, they asked me to repeat (so I was right), I repeated myself, then they said in a very rude tone Yeah what do you need were really busy. I hope they improve and eventually achieve basic human decency.
My husband was initially excited to visit this bar during our Indy trip. All I can say is it was a HUGE disappointment. The bar itself, as far as the building goes, is pretty cool. The food was terrible. We ordered the Grande Nacho dish to share. When it arrived, we couldnt wait to dig in! After all, the menu says house specialty . WORST NACHOS EVER. The plate piled high with chips, lettuce, tomatoe and onion but HARDLY ANY MEAT OR CHEESE. For 15.99 I could make this at home much better. The drinks were so stiff I couldnt drink it and left it nearly untouched. We left and went for pizza.
Without a doubt coolest jazz joint around anywhere! Lets not forget to mention the history and longevity of this establishment. Man, you have it all here. The atmosphere engulfs you along with the food and spirits, yeah real spirits. Dont pass by Indy without cruzin by for a Cool one.
Fantastic place if you like old school and blues bands Thurs half price drinks all day yahoooooo great atmosphere and good people go there before st elmoes and warm up in the bullpen so 5hat you drink bill is not so high at dinner...than hit it again o. Your way out ...great time
I was here 15 years ago and loved it. We werent able to get a tour this time, but if you go you should try for the tour. They used to do ghost tours but it doesnt look like those happen anymore
Great old blues bar. I was there for lunch. The food was good. Sever was friendly and helpful. Loved the vibe even though it was the middle of the day.
Man, I hate to update my review... this has been my favorite place to go and I talked about it all the time. The atmosphere was awesome for music. However, during the summer, they dont use the main stage, which is what made the atmosphere awesome. Now they use stage 2, which has all the charm of watching live music played in a hallway with a sun room. So I drove 200 miles to be ready to leave 2 songs in. Next time, Ill head to Louisville or St Louis. However, kudos to the staff, the food and service was excellent. The atmosphere is a let down. I understand summer is less people, but you are closing the wrong section. Close the hallway, and use the amazing room that is a blast to visit. The photos show the comparison between amazing experiences and nothing interesting.
Wow. I grew up here but have never been in. I missed out. This place is great! Dont let the small entrance area fool you. This place is large and often has multiple bands playing. Its great!
Wings are big portions, but salty....most flavors. Very tight setup...seats are closely placed, very little room to move around. Locate restrooms before seating...not marked very well in this old building. Music is very loud...be prepared.
The service was fast , very considerateFood was excellent, the music was a super bonus. Didnt ask but wondered if they give a military Discount
What a great place! We held our welcome reception for our companys 50th anniversary weekend here and everyone had a great time. Good food, great service and a unique atmosphere!
Great Pub meals!! HOWEVER, it took entirely too long to get soup.Waitstaff should refrain from calling people honey and sweetie. Its of poor taste. And, definitely dont call a persons spouse or significant other, honey.
Food, music, & history in one location! The oldest continually-operating bar in Indiana (established 1850), expanded and serving a variety of American-style foods. Nice serving sizes, and we had good service for our group of 14. Check out the history of the place, which includes things like a brothel, a murder, the Underground Railroad, and tons of celebrity visits. John Dillingers bullets can still be seen in the wall. Would return!
Good food, but be aware there may be a cover charge for live bands
This place is great. At first glance the appeared to be one small pub within the first room, but once we walk past the first room the building opened up to a labrynth of additional rooms and bar areas. Stage inside for live music. Loved the building, loved the food, loved the drinks. The staff was extremely busy but kept up with the flow well. Chicken Quesadilla was a great choice!
Fantastic food and our server was the best. Such a great vibe.✨️
After arriving and sitting at the bar I asked the bartender how old the Business was as I could tell it had age on the outside he told me the business is 176 years old. No longer an Inn, you have to find another place to lay your head but you can get a absolutely delicious burger and a very wide variety of beer and almost any type of liquor you desire!Cool thing about this historic business is that they have bands almost every night of the week they play rhythm and blues, soul and classic rock ‘n roll.Looking for a place to enjoy the evening with some live music, a bite to eat, some cold drinks and not break the wallet… this is it!
First time there and will definitely be returning. It would be nice if they opened the doors to the patio seating when music is playing inside.
Such a fun place! We were visiting from out of town and a friend from Indianapolis suggested we check it out! Food was great, service was better, music was fantastic!
The Noodle is an institution. The Yeagy family saved it and took it to new levels and to have this iconic place in Downtown Indianapolis is truly amazing. The new owners are keeping it going and kept a lot of the staff and all the good things! It is a must visit for out of towners and really needs to be a frequent visit for locals - where else can you hear Blues, Rock and other music live for such low $ and get great Booze and Food. And Hauntings. It is so haunted. No wonder since its been there since 1850! #disisit
Customers Beware! This place is dreadful and standing on shaky legs. One would think live music and high prices would make a place at least somewhat enjoyable. That is not the case here. The breakdown:Service was nonexistent. Dont expect to be checked on, also I couldnt chase down a refill to save my life. Ordered several things, none of which were WORTH the cost or bad service. In particular, the chicken sandwich (pictured below) cost me $10.50. Please note that it is slightly bigger than the burnt chips it was served with. For an additional $1.99 you can upgrade chips to about 10-15 fries. What a joke this turned out to be.I would not recommend this place and I believe it has many fake reviews.
Not bad, not really my kind of place, but I can see the appeal for a younger crowd that has a lower standard. The pajama flip-flop, go out to dinner crowd!
Ive been coming here since the early 80s. Still great music, food and atmosphere. You always make new friends. If in Indy and like to have a great time. Stop in at the Noodle wont be disappointed.
Got stuck with a layover here. Cute bar. Nice live blues music.
We visited The Noodle during National FFA Convention. We had arrangements made for dinner, they set up the BEST taco buffet for our group of 18, this also included the BEST carrot cake and cheesecake for dessert! Our waiter was very helpful and aware at all times. The staff went above and beyond to make our experience for our group of FFA members an experience they wont forget! Thanks for hosting Tri-Village MVCTC FFA!
My server was outstanding. I ran into him and his girl at a benefit for Gene Deer....not only was he an outstanding server, him and his gf was adorable people. Good genuine people. Love the Slippery Noodle
Stopped in during a work trip. It was a Tuesday night when the place was busy.Staff and food were great. If you visit, ask for the guided tour of the old building. Several very interesting stories.
We went there to celebrate my dadmans birthday. We made a reservation that apperantly didnt exist but we could still sit down right away because we arrived early... even for the motorcycle on Meridian event. The food came quick and was amazing! The music started at around 2000 and was so good my niece started dancing and I forgot to mention we were seated right next to the stage! We would later learn that there was also another band on the other side of the restaurant!1 star - good food1 star - Birthday boy2 stars - two bands2 stars - very happy niece-1 star - thieving niece took my ANC headphonesTotal stars: 5
Very fun place. There is a lot to see and take in. The food was fantastic! The music was on point as well.
I love live bands and there are usually bands there on the weekends. It is a pretty chill atmosphere and the food is good.
Got there late after walking from a show at Lucas Oil stadium. Kitchen was closing. Just bar food at that point but it was decent. Nachos were just ok. Club was good. Had something called fried noodles on the menu and was a bit disappointed when it was just fried cheese sticks. They were good though. Live blues band was in the back room for a cover charge but we sat up at the front bar. Staff was friendly.
Was a great night with friends the band was awesome. The staff was very friendly and busy. The crowd was singing and dancing.
Benito Dibartoli at the slippery noodle, that guy is amazing. Good thing we didnt drive because the over indulgence was in full swing. Great place with outstanding music. The food is good, but we didnt have any this time. The noodle is the place if you want live music in indianapolis, with friendly staff and good food.
Great service every time Ive been in. Always hot, fresh food. Bands are always great as well.
Such an old and interesting place. Local ghost tours claim theres spirits floating around here besides in your glass. Multiple rooms and 2 stages, with bars to accommodate the patrons. Pretty long menu, too. I think the bands only play blues which is good for me and it seems busy any time I walk in. Older crowd that behaves itself and you dont have to worry about fights or crime even though youre downtown Indy.
This is a cool really old bar oozing with atmosphere. The Blues Brothers vibe works and this is a big bar. With a bar area, larger restaurant style area and a nice offshoot room great to be away from the bar or the large area. Full bar with nice size beer options. The burgers here are great value and taste. Good size, juicy and worth the price. Had good time hanging out and a great stop. Walkable from the downtown where Lucas Oil and Gainbridge fieldhouse. Safe to walk to and from. The service was excellent as she checked in on us but did not bother us. The drinks were well made and worth the price too.
Ive been there before they have great beer selection and good food too
This place was a lot of fun. Server was sporty and sassy and kept us entertained. Bar fare was off the hook good. Im not really a big chicken wing guy, but damn these things are crunchy and spicy and meaty...perfection. pretzel bites, nachos, and slippery noodles were all just awesome. We had a great time.
Great spot for a quick bite or drinks! I love the steak salad! 🥗
We absolutely love the Slippery Noodle. The food is fine, but we go for the awesome live blues and to enjoy cold beer and the cool scene.
Great building and awesome location. Game day food is the same quality as stadium food at higher prices. Great place to drink but eat somewhere else…. Service is a 2 out of 5 maybe even a little worse.
We stopped in after our tour of Lucas stadium for a drink and appetizer! It is seat yourself so that was nice as we could go and be by ourselves since everyone was crowding the bar...we got a few drinks and highly recommend the noodle sticks! Yum! The history of the place is neat and the bar is beautiful!
Great pub! 3 different stages of live music, great ambient!
We were here for just the night. What a fabulous place! The food was fantastic! Hands-down the best onion rings you will ever have. The chicken wings were HUGE! Our waiter was better that superb! The entire staff was amazing. I love the character of this old building. I cannot recommend this place enough! And, Thursday has half price drinks!
Went last Monday night when they had a live blues singer. This was my first time listening to live blues and it was really great! Cheap drinks too, and my dinner was the Nacho Grande House Specialty. They were excellent! Not too cheesy and the chips perfectly crispy.
Definitely a hot spot for the locals. We were only in town for the weekend and stopped by when they werent super busy. Nice selection of beer and pretty attentive staff. The food was pretty typical bar food, but was enjoyable. Next time were in town well definitely stop by again.
Went to perform with Rock Garage, and had a fantastic time! One of my favorite venues so far. The staff was amazing and it must be so hard to manage orders in such a loud and lively atmosphere but they handle things so professionally. I will for sure be returning!
Easy parking, Easy restrooms, easy orderingDefinitely danced, the drummer and harmonica-ist were shredding. The music felt special. We bought someone a flower, and he said it was the first flower anyone has ever bought him, and get bought us koozies:)Expansive. Built in 1850. Was part of the Underground Railroad. Was a brothel. Was a hotel. Its got rhythm and momentum.Rachel said the “tator-tots brought her back to life”
First time customers, the four of us enjoyed our dinner excellent food and service,Nadikah did a great job thankyou
Stopped in for lunch. The Italian sub is legit! Wish I couldve been there for live music but the timing was bad
Visited labor day weekend. INDY is actually slow on this weekend. They had two bands which were very good. Oldies type music with a laid back atmosphere. Man at the door taking up the door fee of 10$ a head, was very flat. He didnt speak nor smile nor invite. Felt a bit like he was annoyed he had to do his job. But if you get over the initial affect of the environment it is a fun time listening to music. The food was subpar , the wings were just over fried and then bbq sauce squirted on them. Just bad overall flavor. Overall experience with bands and music was good.
We go for the music, which always makes the evening. The quesadilla was tasty, flavors blended well. Cant say much about our server as she was adept at not seeing anything other than her current task. But a great evening nonetheless. If you like blues, youve got to go!
Blues at 8Drinks are cold and food is steady fare.
Extremely unique bar and restaurant!Booze is booze, but getting to learn about the history behind the establishment was by the far best part for me and my date! Seeing what it used to look like and how its changed over the years was awsome. The staff were quite friendly and helpful too.
Nice place, nice music, just not my vibe.
Went with a friend of mine from the area. I havent been here in years and had an instant flashback walking in the door! Eclectic place with a cross-section of locals/tourists enjoying themselves. Solid beer selection along with reasonably priced, quality bar food. Parking can get really tight but I was staying four blocks away, so walked over.
Must visit while in Indy. Oldest bar in the city with a rich history dating back to 1850. The goto blues bar in the city. Ive been there many times over the years. This visit for a late lunch and cocktail on a sleepy Saturday afternoon after attending the LPGA event at the brickyard golf course. We had a great lunch, relaxed and unrushed.
If you look at the bottom of this photo it references President Obama as being responsible for the price of cigarettes in their machine. I dont know the owner so I wont comment on his motivation for this. Make your own assessment, and dont patronize this place if you suspect what I suspect. This goes double for potential performers...
Great little hidden gem downtown. Food is always great and service is excellent. I have only been for lunch but have left satisfied everytime.
Have visited The Noodle three times over the years and it never disappoints. Its a rare place in Indy where there is music seven nights a week. This time we went on a Sunday night and it was a chelo player and guitarist rockin the place. Staff is always friendly and the pub fare is good too. Well be back!
Great live music atmosphere; we love the band that was playing. They played blues music very entertaining. The service was quick, attentive, and awesome! This place is a great spot for date night. Even the food was great A++. Highly recommended 👌
This is a historical place! The atmosphere is friendly and food and drinks are wonderful! This pub is bigger than it looks
We had a fun experience here. We did not eat just had drinks watching a show. If it is busy it can be pretty cramped. I love it for being the oldest bar. If you are in indy I would highly recommend stopping by.
No dr. Pepper anymore. My soup never made it out to me till after my dinner. Had the grilled fish and the taste was excellent. My friend order Irish coffee and she said it was straight coffee. Her food came way after my food.
Awesome venue! Once a brothel upstairs. Underground RR and hidden rooms in basement. Great music! You gotta go! Been here twice and will return !
First I set near the entrance from the parking lot. Terrible service. Sat there over 10 minutes. No service. Moved to bar and got 5 star service. Ordered grouper fish and 2 sides. Very good. Bread was hard as a rock. Ordered a Miller Lite draft and was horrible. Overall the food was ok service was mediocre and the atmosphere was fair. Will spend my money somewhere else.
My sister and I brought my mother(83) in and she said she had the time of her life.everyone was super friendly and she felt like a star, the musicians all indulged her and we took tons of pictures. Stacey was an amazing server. Mom says we have to come back down once a month til she cant anymore.thank you all.
Had drinks here. Nice bar good vibes and good staff
Good food & drinks, (standard bar fare), and the service was acceptable. But let’s face it, you don’t come here for the food. Great atmosphere, and blues! Love that they keep bringing in new, and often local, talent. But it can get very loud.If you can, schedule a tour! I’ve been here several times over the years, but this was my first time taking a tour of the place. Do it earlier in the evening, when they’re not so busy. Such great history!
I visited this bar a week ago with a coworker and had a great time. Live Blues music, great view of the stage, and good drinks. Great atmosphere!
Super busy after Colts game. Service was not good.. understand because of the time we were there. Nice place. Could not eat, but the food that i saw come out looked good!
The atmosphere was awesome. I LOVE the old building!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE that they offer a late night menu!! 1am and we were eating! Nachos were AMAZING..the chicken quesadilla tasted like it was made in microwave. Drinks were FAB!
Our server, kristin, was great and marty was also very nice! we showed up with a large party late at night but they still happily accommodated us. good food and drinks, and a very spacious place with lots of different rooms and areas to sit in.the live music is cool but it can get very loud making conversation near impossible. we decided to sit in the outdoor area where it was quieter and had a blast! take advantage of the daily drink specials for a good deal too. overall i will definitely be coming back here when Im in indy.
Did best shimmy of my life here.. food was nonexistent. Because all I did was drink beer. Murals were a bit intrusive, only during the hours of 10-11.One word to describe this place? Bar.Chair backs hurt my insides, quenched internal Fe2+ desire.Thats a pretty weird thing to say. Sorry bout that.My friends dance moves were a bit embarrassing, very white. We need diversity, not more finger pistols. Please help. HELP.PLEASE. I AM CHOKING ON WÁTER.
I only had soup here and drinks so I cant judge this place in terms of food quality fairly, but from a standpoint of just pure fun and as a hangout spot for pregame or post-game it is good...obviously it gets packed but even right after the Sunday game we were able to find a table for 6 fast.
Slippery Noodle Sticks... Uh, yes please! Dip em in the Alfredo sauce and thank me later! Service was barely mediocre, but was fine. Drinks were good. Food was good. Ill be back.
Not at all what I was expecting based on word-of-mouth and their online presence. The wife & I were very disappointed... the wings were not cheap, but they were very fatty. Those that were edible were nothing special. The endless pasta was a decent deal and tasted just fine. Not impressed with the layout/atmosphere considering their emphasis on live music.
Terrific service in a casual, friendly atmosphere. Giant appetizer and entree portions. Good beer and cocktail selection. Our table of four enjoyed our meals. I wish we could have stayed for the live music. I recommend this place, especially if youre headed to or from Lucas Oil Stadium.
$45 for lunch, one draft, and one water. Thank goodness there was a parking spot in their lot. Or I would have had to pay for parking as well.
Excellent service, excellent music, it was clear that the staff working there loved it and were having fun. The food we ordered was good and the drink prices were more than reasonable. Ill be taking all out of town guests here for a fun evening
Did not have the food when I was there. but their drink selection is awesome
We came here during DCI finals from our usual place of Tavern on South, because of their lack of menu, due to their event menu. Slippery Noodle has so much more to offer. The food was absolutely amazing and even though they were busy, we got our food quite fast. Would recommend 1000 times! We will be back for sure!
Came here after work with 3 other co workers. At first, the place was really cool and there was even live music that we listened to while we waited for our food. We all got wings, they were gooey in the middle and I asked for mine to be taken off. Our server Sean came back after and asked my friend “do you want to complain about the way your corona tastes too?”. Not only was the food gross, but we’re all hugging the toilet a little harder today :). Cool vibe but don’t order the food I guess.
If you are looking for a venue where you can listen to phenomenal live music any night of the week while enjoying delectable American cuisine, then you just might want to experience The Slippery Noodle on South Meridian Street in Indianapolis.Initially our server was LaTisha, but we requested, Satan (based on a recommendation), and yes I did say Satan. Both ladies were amazing and served us very well. Having been told about their steaks, I ordered the 10 oz Ribeye with an accompanying baked potato and tossed salad. The steak was flavorful and cooked to perfection. However, the rolls were dreadful and had the potential to damper the whole meal had I actually been interested in them. The best part of the experience was the live band. I could have listened to the band play all night. The Slippery Noodle, not your average hole in the wall. Thats whats for dinner. Bon Appetite!
My bride and I had a great evening listening to a live band on a Saturday night. We enjoyed some appetizers, a great cheeseburger, and drinks. We had two servers when we dined in. The first, Gail, was attentive but seemed annoyed to deal with us so we ordered half as much from her as we did the other server. Our second server, Nadikah, was amazing! She was fast, and incredibly nice. We’ll request she wait on us next time we’re in town.
Seemed kind of chaotic while we ate. But a large conference was in town as well.
Highly recommend! The food and beer were both delicious, service was excellent, and the live music was great! Hats off to Marty and his crew for an awesome and memorable experience! If youre looking for a fun and unique place to visit, look no further.
Great time! Group of eight of were there during 500 Race Weekend..busy place, but Carol and Alex did a great job! Had some great nachos and cold beer 🍻!!
Oldest bar in Indiana. Staff is amazing. A must visit for downtown Indianapolis
Loved the music and the food was great and the service was excellent
Came here for an after hours work meeting. Had my eardrums busted out by a live band 10 feet from us. No fore thought on the staffs part in seating this group in a more appropriate location considering this was planned in advance.Wings, burgers. and Nachos were good. The garlic wings were awful. Garlic was way too strong. All the rest were excellent. Fries which you have to pay extra for ware soggy and not great.Overall a mixed bag but I can certainly see if your goal was melting your ears with live music this place is great.
Spent a lot of time there for the B1G Football Championship. Marty, the GM was all over the place making sure everything was running well the first night. The staff was efficient and courteous. 2nd day, the lady waited on us for about 4 hours and never missed a beat. I would recommend this place for celebration, the music and the staff. Go Blue!
Was part of a large group outing planned months prior and confirmed noon that day. They were overwhelmed, understaffed, and rude. 30 minutes into the event we were told that they could not honor their commitment and we had to leave. Cant comment on the food, as our order never came. Cant comment on the drinks, as our order never came.We took the party to Nevermore, across the parking lot. and the 100 or so of us spent another 5 hours eating, drinking, and having a great time. They were also understaffed but hustled their butts off!
Ive been visiting the Noodle for 30 years and part of its success is the good food and entertainment. Its also the oldest bar in Indy so...atmosphere.
Had the chicken/sausage jambalaya and some of the cheesy noodle sticks. Friends went for lunch at Gencon. Interesting side entrance. The service was very good and the food had good ratings from everyone at the table.
Performing as a musician there was a very good experience. The band housewas very cool and the service at the club was very good, although the prices were a little steep for a struggling musician, but all in all, a great experience.Lots of love to everyone....
I loved the atmosphere and the food. My order was slightly wrong (I ordered the Cajun chicken in a wrap and got the Cajun chicken philly), but it was delicious so it turned out fine. Maybe just make sure you speak clearly if your order has some adjustments. Overall nice place! Also, the home fries were delicious!
They have amazing, friendly staff and great drinks. The Manager, who has a heart of gold, is on top of his game— making this place a well oiled machine stocked with VERY talented musicians on a main and front stage. Go here!
Oldest bar in Indianapolis an must stop if youre in town. Live music on weekends.
This place is the quintessential night out place. Great food; Pickle spears and Jalapeño Poppers are perfectly textured and breaded. The staff was incredibly attentive and on top of everything. Finally, the vibes were on point.
Great bar that had live music play and great selection of food. The best thing is you can have different bands playing at the same time because this bar has two different stages!
Great live rock and jazz bands!
Ate here tonight with the family, great place, super friendly workers, awesome service, good food, reasonably priced. We had the cheeseburger, Rueben, kids chicken strips, and grilled chicken salad, and everything was great. Will definitely come back when we are in town. Server #331 was fantastic.
Best bar food EVER! The tenderloin and mushrooms are OUT OF THIS WORLD! Fresh veggies topped it out- WOW is all I could say! Well worth the money!!
Love the entrance greeter, hes a sweetheart! We had a treat time Friday night when a blues band was playing. Everyone including the other patrons we super friendly and chatty. We loved our visit and hope to go back again soon.
