Oba Massage

Came to get a massage this past Sunday because I have a lot of prior injuries from the military. I called this place for a chair massage for an hour and the lady yes. When I go there it wasnt a chair to be seen but rooms. I was already far out the way so I chose to stay and get a regular massage. While I explain again that I only wanted an hour was asked for an additional hour during the massage and I said no.Now, I get massages quite frequently, so much that i tend to fall alseep so time management is on the professional giving the massage not the customer. That is part of the problem. While the massage was good I just checked my account to find out I was charged double the price. The price was repeated back to me but my fault for not getting the receipt.She ask for tips and I felt bad for not having any cash on my I went to the gas station next door to grab some cash to give to her. Now, not only was I charge more than what I asked for I added a tip on top of it which is messed up. I will not be going back and I do not recommend anyone to go unless they get something in writing what you are getting upfront. Shame, it seems you have to get a contract to get a massage these days.

The most unprofessional and no work ethics by Judy who was the massage therapist on May 01st at 6pm that I went to. I suggest the owner to look into this as she is very unprofessional and I paid for an hrs massage which was $70 but since she thought I was not enjoying the massage said better do it for half an hr and charged me $50. What a rip off. Will never recommend this place.

Honestly such a horrible experience I actually was so shocked at how unprofessional Judy was I absolutely think she deserved to be fired. It was such a painful massage. She only served me half the time and I had to pay full price. Absolutely disgusting!

I am a loyal customer who started coming here because a friend suggested them and Ive been back every week for over 1.5 years. Ive read many comments about the place and the negative ones I feel are because of the language barrier between the staff and customers. If you went to a county where the people dont understand your language but still provide good services should you critique them on the language or the service? Anyhow Ive had all the massage therapists and the are excellent and use the amount of pressure you want. I dont care that they dont speak my language if they can understand enough to give me the service I need!

Massage was good it was just the place is a little run down but clean and needs some air conditioning circulation. Has a musty smell, I suggest they get some aroma therapy. She took me right away and was able to get my back massaged really good and she got the knots kneaded out from working at a computer everyday I had lactic acid buildup in my shoulder blades. Afterward she did my foot massage and it was nice. Don’t forget the Tip they will definitely remind you when you pay.

I made a cold call to inquire about an appointment, graciously they had an opening and I arrived within the hour. I was met by Sofia and escorted back to a very relaxing treatment room. I must say that I received the best reflexology/deep tissue foot massage ever. Sofia had strong hands that reached all of my problem areas, relieving my pain and tight tendons in my feet. I have one more week left on my vacation and will be returning before I leave Jacksonville!

Love this walk in massage therapy place. Reasonable prices and nice staff. You can call ahead to see if they have any therapist available. They are very good at massage therapy not great at speaking English but I was still able to communicate where on my body I needed her to focus.

Woke up with such tense muscles that I could barely turn my neck. Oba was the only massage place that could take me in same day. I didnt get her name this time, but I definitely will next time because it was one of the BEST deep tissue massage Ive ever gotten.Yes, theres a language barrier. But, she knows enough to ask if the pressure is okay and to increase it when its not enough. You wont get an authentic Ashiatsu massage (where they walk on your back) from someone with perfect English. She did an excellent job and Ill be back for sure.

Im typically on my feet 60+ hours a week, and have been going to Oba for years, purely for the pleasure of a nice foot massage. Today I went to Oba because my left foot has been very sore these last few weeks, probably due to standing on an uneven surface for an extended period of time. A few folks have asked me Why are you limping. Today, Sophia went to work on my foot, and I walked out pain free. Sophia did a great job in fixing my foot. Highly recommended!

One star bc yes it was a last min ideA and was the only one who had availability so I tryed the lady out . She made me pay first which was fine. When she was giving me massage was hurting like she was going over bone and not muscle. And now the next day I’m hurting sore not a good sore and I’m extra tight. I understand that she tryingTo make money but there should be a littlemore tight on regulation to make sure they are licensed. Dont recommend, take your money and spend else where . 73$ dollar down drain

Professional is a description and review within a single word. The staff both male and female are extremely well trained. My shoulder was stiff and very sore before my first visit and it was much relieved after. I have also had the foot massage and it was excellent. I recommend this place.

I was skeptical at first, but I will definitely be coming back. Very relaxing experience and the masseuse was talented. She gave a good strong massage, which I wanted, and was attentive in asking if it was too much at any point. Head to toe massage, 90% was while I was laying face-down, finishing with a light face massage and hitting a few key frontal points. The price was very reasonable, the service was great, and I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Not only that, but the hip pain I came in for was alleviated, a true blessing

I have been here twice for the 2 hour sessions and it is out of this world. Problems I have had with my knees for over a year due to a bad fall were massaged away. This lady just felt her way around the edges of the knee caps, detected irregularities and in the first session, worked it back to 80-85% strength. It was amazing. On the second visit (I go once a month now), she got them working and feeling even better. What months of physical therapy couldnt accomplish, this lady did in 2 visits.Both times I let her run with the deep tissue techniques, now that I am pretty much restored, on future visits I will have her ease up as my body is now reset. That is the nice thing about them. They will start out with the the deep tissue. However, if it is too rough, you can let them know where to apply pressure and where to go easier. On different parts of my body, she checks to make sure it is not too rough.I very much recommend this business as it is extremely clean, friendly and reasonably priced. Give it a try, seriously doubt you will be disappointed.Luc

Went in last week and as usual got an awesome pain-relieving massage to right rotator cuff. LMT was very polite, professional and accommodating. For the past couple of years, Oba always has been my go to place to get myself straightened out. Never disappoints!!!

Absolutely amazing! This place is clean, professional, and the atomosphere is very relaxing! The massage I got here was the best EVER! It was a unique massage experience that included hot stones, moist warm towels, and other amazing techniques! The ladies here are so sweet and kind and do a great job at making sure the pressure is to your liking! Im a dental hygienist, so my back, neck and shoulder muscles always are sore and tense, but every time I get a massage here I feel completely rejuvenated and my pain is gone! Thank you!

Best Foot & Body massage I have EVER had! Fantastic massage for the price. The lady who did my foot and body massage did wonders on my muscles and applied great pressure throughout the entire session. Super nice place and staff. Looking for a deep tissue massage and this is what I got! The masseuse asked how much pressure to apply and checked with several times to see if the pressure was too much. Granted, there is a language gap but I am very pleased with the overall massage and my back, neck and legs thank her too! Outstanding!!

JUST get a foot massage. I had the worst body massage of my life but the foot massage was nice. she pulled my hair and folded my ears in and pressed them (and they STILL hurt) and got on top of me and I thought my spine was going to break. I do NOT recommend body massage. Foot massage was good. Just want to make that note.

While visiting Jacksonville with my best friend, we knew to get a foot massage with all the touring we did. We stumbled across this gem.Wow we were so blown away with the foot massage. It was the best in America! I mean THE BEST. Even from the time u walk in to be created by a friendly smile, to how clean the place was.Now we are trying to find how we can bring this business to LA.LA has nothing like this on this scale. Its either Ritz Carlton or Chinatown no in betweens.Thanks for the best foot massageWe will be back.

Wonderful place and so affordable! We stopped on a whim while killing time before going to the JAX airport. So glad we did! I was a massage therapist and trained reflexologist for 7 years and these women are well trained and GOOD! My mom said it was the best foot rub she ever had. Do yourself a favor and go there!

I almost dont want to write a review because this is one of the best kept secrets in town. First off, theyre open 7 days a week. I dont know of any other place you can get a massage on a Sunday. Second, theyre affordable which wouldnt even matter if the body work wasnt amazing! They offer a full range of services but I generally stick to the 1 hour reflexology session. I always feel so well rested and refreshed when Im done. The only itty bitty down side for me is that most of the therapists are not proficient in English so its hard to convey sore or tender areas. That being said, Ive only had an issue with one therapist and I dont see him there anymore. The nice thing is even if youre not satisfied youre not out $100 so its not such an issue. (Plus, that means I wont have to share lol.)

My boyfriend and I had a great experience here. Recommended this place! After I expressed my stiffness of my neck and shoulders, the guy put extra time and effort on my problem area. I feel real good after the session is done.

This place was a Huge Nope! I went based on reviews. Big Mistake. Was told to be there by 1230. Only 1 lady there for me and my partner.Had to wait until 1:20 until the lady decided to show up. Place smells like Urine. Massages hurt like heck.Oooo and they charge a 5% extra for using credit cards. Wont be back.

I went for the 60 minute reflexology foot massage and it was wonderful! They do a little extra massage all over your body (scalp, arms, legs, and back) so you get so much more than a foot massage. I will definitely be back!

I just scheduled my second appointment at this location my first appointment was last week for a couples massage me and my husband both enjoyed our massage also that place is very clean

Pedicures just werent cutting it anymore and decided to give this place a shot. Very, very pleased with my foot massage. The customer service was well beyond what I expected and the environment was very relaxing.
