Eclipse Nightclub & Bar Riverside

Absolutely Love Eclipse. Such great people that frequent this bar on the Westside. Special props go out to Rae, the beautiful bartender that has the Best personality, sense of humor, and truly cares about her customers. Only been there a few times, but probably going to be a regular. The owner came over and talked to me for almost 20 minutes. Great guy, wants all his customers to enjoy themselves. Eclipse has karaoke on Monday nights, and other cool things pretty much every night. I highly recommend it, so give it a try.

Went for the Summerween event and it was a ton of fun. Felt very welcomed and included for being a newcomer. We really enjoyed the vibes and will def be back.

Went for a comedy performance and I felt overdressed for the establishment. The acts were enjoyable so that was nice. I don’t understand why they charged for the show when I know the regulars that showed up and sat at the bar Did Not pay for the same entertainment!

It was good. Went to Pineapple Night and had a good time. It was hard to socialize at times because the music was too loud. But, next time I know to come early. Yhey have the beers I like and an interest crowd. I will visit again.

Went for the first time on new years eve, Im new to the area. Had so much fun. Drinks were great priced. Husband and I spent like 50 dollars overall plus cover fee. The music was great. The people were nice. It was alot of fun.Sure you had your two idiots that tried to fight eachother, but security got in the way instantly and made sure it didnt crush the vibes.Theres people of all ages. And even in the bathroom they were clean and the girls were nice who helped make sure I wasnt looking like a wreck.I would definitely come again.

Food took a good minute to come out and was fine. But you shouldnt be there for the food anyways. Was an awesome time.*edit since the owner got some sass. I believe the food was at the place attached to eclipse. It was also 5 years ago (lol)

Went to a comedy show that they have some of the comedians was funny and some was strange but it was all enjoyable so if you are looking for something to do and get your funny bone tickled at a reasonable price then check them out

We had a fantastic time! All the staff are super friendly and accommodating. Drinks are delicious and music is a blast! Love all the fun and different events!

This place is our home away from home. We have been going here for years. We even brought our parents one night and that was the first time they partied in over 30 years. Last night Holland went above and beyond to make sure that I had coffee so that I could stay awake and alert as the designated driver. He has always been good to us. He also makes sure everything is clean and is on top of any situation that needs to be controlled. The other bartenders were amazing as well. This is our go to place with amazing staff and great music. We even got plans to hire the band Perfect Strangers for our anniversary party as soon as we find a venue as they were spot on every song and the lead singer Vito personally came to us to conversate and introduce himself. I hope This place stays around for many more decades. They treat everyone like people should be treated and everyone is accepted. The manager is one of the nicest men youll ever meet.

If you like the local spot that says it has events then chooses not to... every. Single. Time then this is your best bet. Theres games like jenga & connect four but someone has cut holes in the jenga block so its all but impossible to actually play a game. The locals are thrilled to sit next to you then proceed to yell random sounds for the next 3 hours...On the plus side the bartender (Kimberly?) Was quite friendly... easily distracted but friendly none the less. Possibly needs to be re-educated as to when someone shouldnt be served anymore

Good service, bartender was fun. My partner and I went for a pineapple night and it was underwhelming, just felt like a normal bar.

Thanks for letting all the Bengals fans take over this bar for the day. The DJ was amazing on December 3rd. The bartenders were friendly and the drinks are reasonably priced. We would definitely hang out here again.

My partner and I went to our first pineapple party. The place was full of so many friendly people and there was lots couples to mingle with. The drinks were great. Our bartender Doug was very accommodating. Which is surprising given how many people were there. I’m looking forward to our next pineapple night and plan to check out karaoke nights.

They had Christmas and pineapple party. The three bartenders very nice and personable. My bartender was a beautiful young lady, Kirrian. She pulls a fantastic drink.

No photos! I like traveling incognito when I review Saloons and Restaurants of friends Ive known since in this case before he was born. I made a small fortune in the Bar business in forty years. Enough about me! I noticed the crowds on four separate visits. Very attractive younger crowd, not afraid to spend money and prone to enjoying their night out. I attribute this to an excellent staff who are at ease entertaining their nightly guests. One big plus is the entertainment which is always changing and seems to captivate the energetic crowd. The one partner I know has assembled like minded partners, that is they solved one of the most difficult problems in group ownership, I observed they all bring strengths the others dont have. Keep it up you young guys and continue to have fun and reaching for the stars and before you know it you might be running the Food and Beverage Department at the Bellagio in Las Vegas!!Gregory Schriver

Love the atmosphere at this place, the outside area has plenty of sitting and has warm heaters during the winter time. The inside bar is spacious with different areas for standing. Like the way they moved the stage around from the back wall and onto the side wall. Definitely enjoyed my Ice Cold Michelob Ultra thanks Keith! Definitely moving in the right direction with the upgrades. Enjoyed the club!

I like this place its cool. I have been like 4 times. drink prices are reasonable, the atmosphere is good, wish it played more well-rounded music and its a great place for black men to find wanton YT women that are past their prime and have no clue. The DJ Doug is whack when he is on the mic but gr8 behind the bar. Also the owner is so cool. I kinda love this place. A lil seedy but just the right amount for a bar. Gr8 crowd

Last Night Show was Epic, The Boys, were amazing Good Looking, and put on a Hell of a Show, Bartenders were Awesome. Awesome atmosphere, will return over & over. Blast !!!

I loved this place, i really did and still do but someone needs to do something about that bartender with the superman tattoo... douglas if Im not mistakenNot only has he acted aggressive towards me for bringing a date when me and this bartender have no past knowledge of each other besides his unnecessary comments in my previous visits , its been very hard to come and enjoy the place when i never know if Im going to spend a uncomfortable evening being borderline harassed by this guy.Im not the only one that has experienced this either, i have other female friends that have been treated the same way if not worse by this guy! Definitely not the kind of environment you want from a bar..especially not the bartender!!

Attended my first pineapple party here with some girl friends and while the people seemed really friendly i was appalled by the staff. this self proclaimed alpha male bartender who wore a cap and suspenders doesnt seem to understand what no means! absolutely ruined the evening for us, not only did he make constant remarks about what he wanted to *do* to us he wouldnt stop trying to force our DD into drinking and buying her shots.Completely unprofessional and disturbing behavior, save your money and go someplace with a respectful and safe staff.

Wasnt much going on, on Friday when we went. Could have used some better music. The bartender was amazing!

I was waiting to go a few times before reviewing but after a few visits my thoughts havent changed. This has been the most fun and welcoming bar/club Ive been to and its been where Ive met amazing people! Will definitely keep coming to events when possible. Also, the game decor is awesome but I may be biased here since I love gaming haha

This is hot spot club. it has a very friendly staff.The overall cleanliness of the bar is great. I have never seen the place remain dirty. All the workers clean super all through the working hours. The bartenders are constantly serving the customers their choice of drinks. They are quick and efficient. The cost of drinks is very good. and reasonable. It has a variety in the range of age of the customers. The music is great as well. Karaoke is always a fun time. I highly recommend this bar.

If you pay attention you can see which reviews are honest and which ones are from people who got shot down by a bartender. Ouch.....but, posting fabricated lies about a fun place because of that, is not only lively but fatuous.

Nice vibe...amazing staff(Pixie) was my bartender and I loved her drinks and conversation. I felt so at home with everyone (customers and staff) having a great time. Definitely recommended for a fun or chill night.

While visiting friends in Jacksonville decided to bar hop on a Saturday night and landed in this bar/hole on the wall kind of dive bar that had ok music, good drinks but had no clue that it was more of a LGBT bar. This place does have a good pool table and darts machine that we played all night. Prices are inexpensive for drinks and games.

Love this bar! It has such an awesome vibe to it and attract such an eclectic crowd. We have many great bartenders, Rae is by far one of my favorites. We’ve followed here where ever she has worked, since she’s always welcomed us with open arms and has quickly become our extended family. I highly recommend this bar. You won’t be disappointed.

I only suggest getting a shot girl . Sometimes bartenders are busy and I could use a shot while waiting . Besides that it was a blast . Beautiful atmosphere. Great service 😎

First things first. Love theme nights. IYKYK. 2nd drinks were reasonably priced. 3rd great atmosphere. 4th Dj was on fire. Now the only real negative thing I have to say is this. Consistency is key. I should order 3 house drinks from the 3 different bartenders and each one make it in 3 very different ways. Over all great experience. We will be back.

Just Meh.. we are locals and have frequented the place on multiple occasions.. there are typically fairly lengthy waits for drinks for some reason. This past time, we went and waited > 10 mins for a drink, and ended up just walking back out when we couldnt get service.

I LOVE this bar. The staff makes you feel so at home. Rae was one of the first bartnenders I met and one of the main reasons me and my girlfriends come back. We’ve gotten to know all of the weekend bartenders and you couldn’t ask for a better group of people. Very alternative crowd, it’s definitely different but a great time. A breath of fresh air, really 😍😘

I tried this place for the first time last night and had a lot of fun. It had a diverse crowd of friendly people, and very attentive and pleasant staff. The music was good and the place had a causal ambiance. It was also nice to see the owner (who was very friendly) talking to patrons and working happily alongside the staff.Do yourself a favor and check this place out 🙂

First time visiting! I was looking for karaoke but found open mic night instead. I sang two songs while accompanied by a keyboard and guitar. Nice outdoor area! It reminds me of some bars back home. Everyone was friendly too! If I come back to Jacksonville, Id stop through here!

Update: 2/5/23: Looks like Eclipse is the new hot spot for Sunday Funday! Great drinks, great music, great crowd, great bartenders and ample parking, unlike other places.Update 5/31/22: The owner issued a sincere mea culpa for what happened. The co-owners who objected to the LGBTQ crowd are gone. We look forward to seeing what happens. Ill be updating again after our next visit.This review was being updated to reflect the fact that the management of this club has decided to cancel the DJ on Friday nights because they dont want that type of clientele meaning the LGBTQ community. This is not the 1st time they have done this to a DJ or event sponsor. This is however the 1st time my community has been singled out.I guess our money is good enough for them.The only reason this is a 4-star and not a 5-star review is that right now, with all of the construction of the new roundabout at Riverside and Herschel, it can be a bit complicated making your way over to the bar. After multiple failed attempts to sneak through the neighborhood to get there, we finally found a route from Roosevelt via St Johns, coming in from the west.Mike B. played a great mix of current, old -school and electro-inspired dance music accompanied by hypnotic videos. He managed to inspire several patrons to stop taking selfies and come out to the dance floor and actually dance. I havent seen that in a while.Pixie and the guys behind the bar provided fast, friendly service of well-made drinks. Between customers, you could tell they were having as good of a time as the patrons. The energy was friendly and inviting, not at all standoffish as many of the few remaining nightclubs can feel. The expansion of the Super NES systems to multiple games on the side tables is a nice touch.If youve never been to Eclipse, Friday night is a great introduction (or reintroduction) to a Riverside staple that has survived dating apps and COVID.

Always a good time, whether its full or kind of slow. Randy is a great bartender - he makes sure to make you feel right at home. I have lost my licence here and gotten it back. Great music and feels safe in the parking lot. Smoking is outside so good breathing air. Just good in all regards.

I gave it a 4 star because os the drinks. Our bartender was on point and knew how to make a strong drink. The only downfall, was they squeeze us in there like a sardine can lol

I love this old club. Not sure who is managing but the place has been renovated and kept very clean. Some walls were torn down so it does not appear to be so small.The soundsystem is great and not overly loud unless you are on the dancefloor.So happy someone in Jacksonville has been able to keep one of our little jewels relevant.

It was very nice and laid-back. I was visiting from out of town and a Woman from another club suggested it,and it was really very nice! The atmosphere was great and adultish,very friendly. If Im fortunate to get to Jacksonville Florida again I definitely will visit this place again,No Doubt!

I’ve been to Eclipse multiple times over the past 10 years and it’s most recently evolved into something more amazing than I would have ever dreamt it would be! They have outstanding staff—I mean Rae is my favorite—ask her for a Cucumber Watermelon Crawl! Other than the staff—the bar is updated, clean, has smoking outside, has karaoke, and is super accommodating all around!

Went for their male revue night. Small space. Get there early if you want seating. Strong drinks. Fun time.

This is a good social local. Especially on Saturday nights are packed with plenty of room on the dance floor.

Went there for a private party last week. Staff was attentative and friendly. Drink prices are reasonable and the song selection by the DJ had the party going well into the night! Overall a good time

A great club to spend your night at. My wife and I found this club and have yet to need any other hangout in the Jacksonville area. Go and experience it for yourself! Theres no cover on Friday nights, and no cover before 10 on Saturdays. Great drink selection and fantastic absinthe. See you there!

Great customers. Amazing staff and owners.Never a disappointment.Gardening on patio makes you feel like you at a cafe with a latte....then look down and you got whiskey at hand.. Place is on point for every vibe.5✴

Drinks arent bad price or taste and it helps to tip your bartender early. Music can be hit or miss but people dance any way. I always felt safe and the freaks come out at night... :)

I Love Eclipse! Enjoy all the different music nights. Karaoke on Tues​ & Thur nights are amazing. Dance crowd on Fri nights is fun. Sat nights are different shows & always entertaining & lets not forget Wed nights w free pizza & $1 beer. Cant go wrong there & the bartenders are fabulous guys! My home away from home!

At first had a decent time, but was threatened and the part owner did not have the stones to look into the problem and was willing to do or say anything than to resolved the issue., The part owner was willing to allow to have a physical issue because of lack of responsibility even though the confrontation occurred on the establishment property. I am not here to cry about who was right or wrong but to listen to the issue at hand. I am here to warn about the cliental. If you consider your safety please reconsider this location. The part owner does not care for your safety and would rather cater to their personal friends than people who may might need assistance with a situation in the middle of the night.It is ok Keith Wilson I do not hold it against you. But you turn a small little dive bar to a small little sports bar with no sports bar. You shall not be missed

It was not what I was expecting. What a few ppl. The crowd seems to me that were the same local ppl or should I say the regular joe…. Drinks weren’t that good and music was a little out of time.

Nice, quite little place we stumbled on. Wasnt pack on a Sunday afternoon and we enjoyed a couple of beers and played the massive Jenga and the corn whole games.

We love Eclipse. We love Rae and have her for quite awhile now. She followed us from our old watering hole when we moved to the Avondale area. We love all of the bartenders and always get great service!

Staff very friendly. The clientele are wonderful. They are all very welcoming. I had a great time last night I will be coming back on my next vacation. I had so much fun.

My home away from home where everyone is welcome . Ive been frequenting eclipse for over a decade. If youve never been, you are missing out on a good time. Whether you like to dance until you drop, or prefer to be the observant wallflower, you will always be entertained.

Nice layout and usually a good show. My only complaint would be that the drink prices are very overpriced. $8-$10 shot for well liquor. $5-$6 for a domestic beer.

Always fun! They have great DJs great staff great drinks what more do you want? One of the best around for dancing as well.

22 dollars for three drinks one was a long island, the others whiskey ginger. Obnoxious bartender scoffed at me when I asked if an old fashioned was possible. Long island reeked of tequila. Over all atmosphere was good, bartender needs etiquette and experience.

Only place for goth night these days here in Jacksonville, I do happen to come here every now and then but I love it! Hoping to meet decent people in the goth scene that are friendly and dont bully other goths.

Great drink prices. Great decor. More show up for Dj Jiani, he plays some of the best Gothic industrial there is. When Dj Goodman is on, he is seriously on. If youre into ebm or industrial then everyone else is pretty good I guess. Its always an event at eclipse, and theres always something youll remember.

By far my favorite club in town. The atmosphere is always relaxed and the staff is friendly. Inside and out have been recently remodeled and looks killer!

Great facility with a huge crowd and fantastic themed nights. Bathrooms are a little less to be desired. They tend to be dirty and it sucks because the establishment is great but I hate going to have to go to the bathroom

Seems like a basic bar with some games during the day, but at night, it lights up like a major concert venue!I recommend checking out the DJS on Wednesday and Friday nights!

Tried to contact them after I lost my debit card to make sure I didnt leave it there after taking a drunk friend home and they messaged me once and then blew me off, theres a reason I cant find a phone number for this dead club .Really sketchy, be careful if you go because they do not seem to care about customer service if you arent handing them money.

Great music, as and a good, nerdy, atmosphere. Plus, decent drink prices.

Its a great place nice atmosphere, they just play music Im unfamiliar with, nothing mainstream.

This place is for a different crowd of people I am not into to those types of crowds.

Sad what is allowed to happen in this place. The owner knows about it and did nothing. Don’t go here, if you do take someone everyone with you, even the bathroom.
