Country Line Dancing is the best at Charlie’s! Such an amazing community of people and so much fun to learn something new! The drinks are super affordable too! This is my favorite spot in Chicago, hands down. I haven’t partied here late night though, so I can’t speak to that. Once the club music turns on and the smoke machine gets going, that’s my cue to leave haha

Love that this place has stayed true to its self. I used to go to the one Denver years ago and last time I went there it has changed soo much. And it has lost its western theme that made it unique. But the one in Chicago has really stuck to its guns. It’s smaller but it makes the atmosphere more intimate. And they still keep those lovely disco boots around 😍 a must stop for gay rugged boys and bears and their fans

Depends on who the bartender is that i walk up to is. Most of them sit and ignore me and take care of everyone else who walks up after me. I have been ignored a few times i went to a different bartender entirely.

Brandon “Torta”’ made sure me and my friends were taken care of and really showed professionalism despite all of us being too wild. IF I COULD RATE 1000 STARS I WOULD!!!!

Went to the bar twice on my visit. Had an amazing time both nights. If you love country music please go to this bar on Wednesday and Saturday nights.

Im visiting fr Utah and thought this place would be fun and friendly but right when I walked in, I got the rude looks from one of your workers and as I was dancing, that same guy comes up to me and says I had to leave because Im dancing too wild and I was too drunk. So I asked what did I do and he said I bumped in to people. (Oh ok cause thats a lie and another cust of yours Video proves different . ) all I wanted to do was dance and have fun, but I got treated like I didnt belong in that club. My only bad experience here in Chicago and all the other bars were fun and friendly treated me with respect so thanks to them, I still had a good visit. But this was the video ur customer sent me saying she dont know why they kicked me out I was only dancing harmlessly. 😤 So I just saw 3 video clips fr 2 different people showing how I was dancing and thats the reason why Im posting this!! Yes Charlies ruined my night...please teach your employees some manners , hospitality, and customer service. Thats what this bar lacks. If there is a way to post these videos fr my messenger on here, lmk how.

Great place. I’m a line dancer from CA and while some dance steps are different it all worked out. Bartender gave my 12 dances list to DJ and he played many of them. You’re never alone on the floor because others want to learn your dance if they don’t know it. If I come back to Chicago I plan to check it out and dance again.

Love it here, the staff always make sure to treat everyone amazing. Strong drinks too!

It’s a bit of an odd bar but is also quite fun. We went there late at night on a Saturday when it turns into a late night gay bar. They music was good and drinks were cheap. There was a $5 cover (cash only) to get in but you could use card. Drinks were really cheap. The bathrooms were really odd, there is no privacy at all and they’re very cramped. Overall we had a fun night.

Normally have fun at this place with my friends, and spend a lot of money here.... But yall need to get your drag queens under control. Rude and disrespectful when checking on a friend, then started drama outside of the bar near the food truck. Super trashy. Makes us gays look bad. Be better.

Charlie’s was one of the best late options out there. Always had great respect for their Friday and Saturday reasonable cover charges. Now they got greedy and doubled it and on top of it, they now charge on Sundays. Loved this place but losing its following due to greedy covers, shabby broken-up uneven, cement floors that every one trips on by dance floor and upper deck area. Compare the dance floor esthetics and polished wooden floors of their competitors, night and day. Not to mention the regular 20 minute lines to use bathroom on a weekend because they are too cheap to modernize their restroom infrastructure, or enlarge, or remodel them. It’s kind of sad. I don’t how that place and bathrooms are even conducive to a person with disability or wheelchair. Add the 300+ customers, and literally only 1 closed stall to use in women’s. Embarrassing. Lots of clientele going elsewhere due to their increase in prices and covers, and basically horrible valued specials, if any.

This is a fantastic bar, awesome events, and incredible staff members! The staff members are the nicest people I have met in the bars in boystown! I come here very often for the dance portion when it starts at 1:30am and I even boast to people about how great it is. I even recommend to others that its one of the bars they have to experience.The karaoke is super fun, go go boys are always sexy, the hosts are captivating and create a super fun night!

Loooove this place! Especially for Queeriod on Sundays (5pm) and drag queen led karaoke on Tuesdays and Sundays at 7pm. Also definitely check out Monday Drag Bingo and Open Mic after bingo! For the gaymers there is a drag/game tournament on Thursdays!

This place is the essence of entitled white culture. Imagine this: myself, a POC, is waiting in line to get in. There are a few Caucasian gays infront of me and security watches 7 people join the caucasians in the most dismissive way. As I try to mention something security tells me that if I’m causing problems I can go. Micro aggression central. Not to mention the inside of this place is a dump. Sticky tables and chairs, vomit on the floor and a bar staff that tends to serve the people with lighter completions first. This place would be well suited for Arkansas or Mississippi

What can I say. I love this bar!!! They have done a lot to improve their image. This is a safe place for all people. Dont believe it, go take a look for yourself. Great Shows. Huge cast of wonderful entertainers. Hot Go-go Dancers. The bar staff care!

Warning. Everytime I go here I get pickpocketed. However I have nothing in my pockets. That doesn’t stop people from sticking their hands in my pocket. Do not carry Wallet orPhone in your pocket here. I only go here bc other bar closes at 2:00. They have good $3 shots. But it takes forever to order. The restrooms are disgusting.

My partner and I actually met each other here by chance nearly 10 years ago! It was a weeknight with a sparse crowd so our friend groups chatted and we hit it off. Charlie’s holds a special place in our hearts, but overall it’s also a fun place to go for a night out. Big space, fun drag nights, solid dance floor, cheap drinks. On the weekends it can be chill earlier in the night but definitely gets rowdy by late night, open super late too.

One of the top bars in Chicago! They are very innovative and know how to draw a crowd! They are always switching it up on you, so you never know what to expect. The performers are exceptional! And it’s the bar you want to be at after hours!!!

We love Charlie’s!!! This bar makes us feel at home every week from the wonderful bingo hosts to the shadow contests on Wednesday’s!! This bar has been home for a long time and the staff has always been the most spectacular especially the managers Ralphie and Adrian.

First time here from Raleigh, NC. Friendliest bar we came across. RALPH was fantastic. Completely hospitable gave us the lay of the land. Helped us navigate. Welcomed us back. One of the best gay chicago bars in the business. Great music, drinks and very cost friendly. Also the entertainment that is provided by the drag queens is one of the best in the strip. Also a big plus is they are a late bar closes at 4 a.m. Love Charlie’s Chicago!!!

I was in today (1/5/18) around 9pm and a stranger made me feel very uncomfortable while I was trying to read a book by saying very terrible things to me for a long time. The bartender working handled the situation so well. I understand my experience as a customer earlier in the night is different than those that come later on, but this is the kind of integrity I hope to encounter everywhere I go. I love the cheap drinks and I really appreciate that the bartender helped me out. Thanks y’all!

Matthew who was working the door this past Saturday is a fuckening angel! Was so sweet, kind and considerate when I needed some help from a friendly stranger getting home safely with a dead phone. He ordered me a car to my destination without any hesitation and refused to accept cash for the ride/as a thank you.Needless to say, he deserves a raise 0:)

This place is horrible. A huge place for racial discrimination! If I could give this place no stars I would. Besides us being racially discriminated against we witness two other incidents at the bar where this happened. The club owner didn’t care at all to discuss matters correctly about his poorly staffed bartenders. Nonetheless, he got physically upset and knocked drinks out of my hands before leaving the club when I expressed that his bartender had horrible customer service. If this place didn’t want proper customer feedback then quite frankly there wouldn’t be a Google page for this business. You should respect all races and run a business with the best customer service as possible. We will not be here ever again nonetheless we will spread the word about not going here to All friends, family, and strangers.

This the perfect place for after hours. It has a great mix of music and the bartenders keep you hydrated. Be careful in the bathroom boys...the doors swing inward and outward and if you are not looking you can get smacked in the face. Charlies is the place to come when you are drunk and dont want to go home.

Charlie’s is a great place to go after 2am but be careful with your belongings, my friend got her phone stolen and the staff didn’t really care (understandably). It’s very packed so have fun but keep your belongings close to you.

This bar stays open til 4AM most days, and 5AM on Saturday nights. The service is good, even late at night, They mostly play country but after 2AM they go to dance music. Its a nice blend and has a great floor plan for easy moving around the space even when crowded.

A place with good music, amazing people. All the employees are so nice, the bartenders and security. Their shows are great. More than that they helped me when I needed their help. Thank you for everything!

I appreciate that Charlies is available as an after hours option, but I wasnt too impressed with the venue. There is nothing special about the bar, the dance floor is laid out pretty well, though the music was uninspiring. Im sure Ill be back again and hopefully proved wrong.

When it comes to closing the night out Charlie’s is one of my go-to’s. I’ve never had a bad time here with my friends (except for the one time I left my card but that is my fault). I’ll keep coming back for a fun time dancing with friends I’ve known (and the friends I meet when the cheap drinks help)

Do NOT use your card here I had a hundred dollars taken from my bank account and then they tried to charge me again a full day after I left. I dont know which bartender has my card info written down but thanks for taking my rent money. I will change the review after the investigation.

I came to Charlies way late at night with some friends from work. We were let in by a super friendly dude, and when I lost my squad and wandered outside to try and find them, he let me back in.

Strong drinks and good dance floor, with tons of fog. Popular, yet not usually overcrowded which is nice. If theres a cover its usually only $5

I always go to this bar but I never imagined that tonight they were going to steal my wallet in this bar two young Venezuelans stole my wallet it is not possible that these people come to this country to steal our belongings and give us a hard time how disgusting that this type of people is in our country I have nothing against those people But who stole my wallet is disgusting its a shame that this bar allows thieves to enter its establishment this bar It is recommended but if this type of thing continues to happen I think they will lower the rating

Please educate your staff cause I was hold outside the bar in this weather because your bouncer claimed that my New York ID was fake. We had to call and waste police resources because the guy cant read ID. That is illegal and on top of that they didnt apologize and had a horrible attitude.

I know someone who went here and after they left, RIGHT OUTSIDE the bar, they got ROBBED and ASSAULTED and the security DID NOTHING TO HELP!! IT IS NOT SAFE TO GO HERE. Very fun and everybody is friendly. they have the tuesday kareoke nights and everybody sing and have fun. people are very friendly and they always have good specials on drinks. they also serve free food on tuesday nights.

A little bit of Nashville in the middle of Boystown. The bartenders are somewhat if you coax them into a conversation. The draft beer is cheap and the dance floor is huge. I hear they are moving away from the country theme with dance music at night and the weekends.

Something about this place that I feel comfortable coming back for. Maybe its the fact that they acknowledge me as a returning customer, not like the other places that Ive been to just as long and arent as friendly. Love coming here any day of the week.
