Jouvay Night Club

Been here a few years back came back recently & if it wasn’t for my having a new born beat believe this mad spot would’ve been closed down with maybe 2-3 bodies left there don’t waste your time if you want to go out and have a good night! Security is soft alway mad & trying to intimidate individuals he had the right one ! All for a miscommunication & I’ve spend over 1k but disputes works & received every last dollar back except entry fee & they needed it more then I did never ever come here ! Disappointed! Horrible! DIARRHEA! NOT A VIBE ! Bad energy ! DONT GET ROB by these clowns ! THIS SPOT need to be closed down ASAPP

We went to a social distancing baby shower at Jouvay. I really didnt know what to expect but it turned out marvelous. There was security at the door doing their due diligence with temperature checks. The place was large enough to hold multiple tables which we did not need, but were able to space out the tables appropriately. Drinks were served at the table, no standing at the bar. We also had a dinner menu and food that was served to us tableside. The bathrooms were clean. Wheelchair accessible. The DJ booth to hook up the music was awesome. The parking was not optimal for someone not living in Queens, who could uber. It is on a busy street and the industrial area is behind it. All in all great spot.

This was not lgbt friendly at all. I loved the bottle girls service very beautiful but the security guards & guest are horrible nasty behavior & actions . I couldn’t believe I got called outta my name so much & paid $800 for a section & everyone else was smoking even with the security guards there was smoking with but kept coming in my face saying I can’t smoke but everyone else was & I really couldn’t believe that Jouvay was like that . Then guest started to fight I would never return nor step place in a low budget club like this ever again .

Probably the worst club I’ve ever been to, and only because of the security staff. All other staff were pleasant but almost every security guard was mean and standoffish for absolutely no reason. Spent money on a section/drinks/food to be treated like they’re doing me a favor when I’m paying to be there. Never had an experience like that before in my life and I’ve been to many clubs. Go somewhere else. There are so many better options

Terrible I will never set foot on they soil again in my life. To start I got tickets on event bright that was supposed to be ladies free till 1 they didn’t check our tickets so we had to pay $40 a person. Not to mention the tickets came with a free hookah that we didn’t get either but people who came in after us were getting in free and getting free hookah the security was so rude then gon ask us for our instagram when we was leaving. Paid another 40 for hookah that was not hitting at all. At this point I’m annoyed so my friends buy drinks for $16 the cup probably can fit two shots of liquor in it. So now I go use the bathroom and I see mints I took one and some skeleton in the bathroom told me I had to tip her ?!? At this point i was done here I did not enjoy my night at all😭😭😭

The place was very disappointing! My Best friend I showed up around 11pm, a few crowds were already there. We ask for a hookah then was told to find a table to sit at. We ordered two drinks which were over priced for the size of the cup! The girl brought us our hookah which was weak! Anyone who smokes hookah would know what I am talking about. The place had NO HEAT, had to go back to the mandatory coat check-in and demand for our coats which they refused to give us back our $4 each But w.e! After an hour at the place while enjoying the music a hostess came up to our table, told us our table was reserved so we had to else where! I ask her where can we go with our hookah and she responded with an attitude “ i don’t know ? Anywhere over there which she pointed to the corner railing where the bottle girls sit at or to place our hookah on the stage which I found very odd to do. My friend and I were told two more times after that to move from the section we kept being told to go to from different workers. So basically if you don’t have bottle service you won’t have a place to sit regardless if you bought a hookah. This place will have you holding your own hookah in hand all night.

They charged $30 for me and my friend last night. People were barely in there even after 12am. Ridiculous. Drinks were overpriced small size. Wanted to try the place for myself but the reviews are right. Also some racist workers in there. There were one hookah girl that were very nice. Djs were good with their music. But the crowd is young & the vibes just didn’t feel right; especially after what I paid. Not coming back here

Got tickets on eventbrite that didn’t mention you couldn’t bring anything inside. Got there they like you can’t bring weed, lighters etc inside you gotta throw it away or leave it inna car, again there was no mention of this before. 10 mins later I check my friend snap and everybody in there smoking a spliff

I mean I had fun with the crowd I was with for Halloween- however the Halloween event ticket said 2 for one drinks and the club did not honor that all. One drink was 16$ in a little cup and the shots in a little shot glass was $16 dollars. I couldn’t use my debit card to pay unless it was $25 and up for the tab. So boom- false advertisement right there. Number 2, hookah was nasty- when I asked the hookah girl to change the hookah because I didn’t taste the flavor I purchased, she said no unless I’m paying for a refill. I paid for refills so my friends can enjoy the hookah and vibe. I also had to show proof that I paid for the hookah via cash app, not like they didn’t see me press the send payment button. The security guard snatched my phone to verify my identity on my ticket. Like what the hell? But the DJ was good and I danced.

Manager was rude af. Mandatory coat check and you can’t them back till leaving. Super overpriced. Djs didn’t take requests. Bartenders and servers super nice. Bathroom has no locks. Paid for a section and they put us in a corner on a round seat all our backs were facing each other and we had no table. The next party was literally 2 feet away from my section. 5 out of 10

Great place to celebrate your birthday. Definitely great that they let ladies in for free with RSVP on Saturdays! My friends and I come here all the time and the staff is always extremely friendly. They have great bottle packages, the vibes are always on point and the music is really good. I love how attentive the bottle girls were for our VIP and the coat check staff brought our jackets to us at the end of the night. I definitely recommend getting there early because there was a line outside but it moved quickly. The bartenders are so friendly (I get that’s their job, but not everywhere gives great service). I’ll definitely be back soon to celebrate my best friend’s birthday.

If I could give it 0 stars ...This place is the poster child for why people dont support black businesses. Just getting through security is such a hassle that itll damn near ruin your night. They are very rude and nasty especially the lightskin dyke. I only enjoyed myself because the people I was with. 0/10 would not recommend.

If you don’t rsvp get prepared to pay 30$ for females 40$ for males to walk into the wackest party in town. Hookah stick smelled like an old wet towel.

If i could give Jouvay a 0 I would! It’s unfortunate because the events all seem to be fun but everytime i go its a misleading experience. The first time i went they advertised something completely different then what was actually going on. Went there last night and one man in security told my friend and I we were “ too lightskin to get in… there was enough of us inside already.” Then calls us High yellow… Im sorry what?? As we go inside the ticket man was extremely rude and didn’t want to honor what was promoted on social media. He basically called his stupid saying “i’m sorry that you guys don’t understand” second red flag. We understood why we couldn’t get in however we rsvped had our tickets and you still didn’t want to honor whats being advertised. Extremely bad vibes! As a patron this is extremely disappointing, I promise i will never go back there! Please conduct your business in a more professional manner.

Went there last night for the first time.Paid $20 and it was soo empty inside.It is a nice venue, very spacious, nice bartenders. But It seems they are just trying to make money without worrying at all about good customer service.

Paid $600 for a section and they put us on a couch where literally anyone could sit. People were walking pass, no barrier to separate us. We were smacked in the middle of everyone and everything. You want to support businesses but when they want to rip you off, they make it hard. Do better.

Went there for carnival Saturdays expecting soca and dancehall because thats what I wanted and what they advertised. All they played was hip-hop and 2 old dancehall songs. So disappointing and misleading. Wasted my night. The security and staff were great but the DJs suck. There is way too many soca and dancehall songs to even have to play one hip hip song.

I didn’t want to believe the reviews here since they are a but old and I thought maybe it would have changed, but it sure didn’t. Went to this Club on 06/11/22 and it was dead for sure. Not a lot of people and the security was a bit weird about hiding the amount of people who are inside. The drinks were insanely overpriced, $17 a drink for a little gin and coke, the size of a half cup of coffee. I pay that price in Manhattan, wouldn’t expect it in a small club in Queens. We ended up leaving, the music was a bit off too. Wouldn’t recommend unless you are into the quieter clubs and overpriced drinks.

Did a VIP here had a bottle package waited outside for over an hour on one host available when I finally got club wasn’t that busy so didn’t understand for the long wait also waited an additional 37min for bottles to come out would not go back

Very pricy, dead place. The dance floor is completely empty. Not upfront about their cover charge ($20 for ladies, $30 for guys). It was not advertised anywhere, and it is impossible to get in touch with anyone to reserve a table/booth/seats ahead of time. l have listed some costs below:Standing table with 1 bottle: $190Hookah: $40 to $46Beer: $6

Reggae and Soca Fridays is misleading. They played more dancehall and hip hop than anything. This was disappointing as I was celebrating a birthday and paid money for reggae and soca.Also, the drinks were weak and a waste of money. In addition, the fact that nobody was on the dance floor until 2 oclock and then the DJ was very inconsistent and his set did not flow together.Songs went from dancehall to old hip hop to reggae to random soca songs. I would only recommend reggae and Soca Fridays for people who predominantly listen to hip hop and dancehall.Reggae and Soca Fridays is not for Reggae and Soca, dont waste your money.

This spot was DEAD!!! Before I even went in security started acting up. They keep the doors closed, so you cant see whats going on inside. Once someone went in and they open the door it was empty. Go figure! No clienteleand bad attitude. Thats not a good mix. Stage left exit right!Went up the block to ELEVATE SKY Lounge and it was jumping. Much better crowd and less BS

Trash. Did my birthday here and the service was horrible. I booked this event over a week in advance and when i get there , not only did they make me and my guests pay entry fee, they claimed I never booked a section and a birthday list and my name wasnt on the list. I had to show the waitress the full length text message thread between the promoter and I. And mentioning the promoter, he stopped answering the phone and text messages when I got there. The waitress honored the birthday package, which shouldve included 4 bottles , a hookah and 6 shots of tequila. We got the bottles , but no hookah and no shots. Seriously disappointed with this establishment and the janky promoters that represents them. New York club scene is falling off.

The owner smokes a cigarette in everyones face on the line to get in. The security steals all the merchandise & drinks on the job. The FOOD is saved overnight. The Bartender Overcharges if you aren’t fair skinned. They steal change at the bar. Coat check stole a womans coat. These people are savages.

The team and I went there last night to celebrate my birthday and we had an amazing time. We go to quite a few clubs and this is one of our favorites in Queens. It’s clean and spacious with an amazing dance floor. Last night DJ Young Chow had the crowd going the whole night with Soca, Dancehall, HipHop and everything in between. The hookah was great and the food was amazing... We’ll certainly be back soon!!

If u show up after 1am on a Friday ur ass will have to wait in line, regardless if u have bottle service or not. They were even telling people to go back and put their coats in their car because coat check ran out of room. 😕 Parking is also dreadful, had to park 4 blocks away. Music wasnt all that great either, I do not recommend this spot on a Friday night.

The bottle service was terrible I payed $560 to have to pay anothe $40 at the for one of my guests granted I went on a Friday which was supposedly free hookah Friday and they charged me another $40 along with my section I got to the club at 12:30 there was no line but I was not seated 1:15 and I also did not receive my bottles until 2pm the the bottle servers were very rude and the manager was very unprofessional and I payed $600 to sit on the floor with everyone else and had to argue to get a banner as if I payed $470 like you don’t see my receipt and as a paying customer who has no problem I would not recommend this club for you.

I LOVE this Place!!! Because security is on point!!!. But, due to the lack of promos and Big ups from famous promoters... My lady wants to go else where. I still think this is one of the best west indian spots in Queens!!

This place is horrible, the service suck, not enough staff and for a full crowd only 2 security guard. My friend was attacked by a man just because she refused to dance and nobody body else even help out. From the time we get in it was bad we had a table service table was not even ready other people that didnt even pay for table service was using the table and refused to give out the table it took a good 20 minutes to get a security guard to fix the issues. I didnt like it at all the only thing that I enjoy was that Dj staks was entertaining people other that bad place

Please dont waste your time going here!! This place not recommended. I only give it two stars cause I liked their staff.. But the crowd cant be changed no matter how many times they change their business name.. And change hands. Its just not the right crowd. Some of them are extremely rid and dont care about themselfs forget about caring about you. Security was rude and so was the checking in pay booth. Outside was crazy too.. Smokers all over and fights across the street. I wont return at all.

Nice spot for a club. West Indian music is on point. Your best bet is getting there early for bottle specials because individual mixed drinks are very small with inexperienced bar tenders.

This place is the gutter at the bottom of the trenches. Avoid if you’re an adult with any sense of class and refinement.

Communication sucks! How people call call call to be fwd to voicemail when trying to book a party for Liv Saturdays. All those facebook and ig pages and no one promoter can answer you and when they do ask what you want to NOT respond again. F*** this we will go back to Mazi Night Club where bottle service, security service, bartender service is ALL processional and ran like they want our money. Wish there was a half a star!

Shouldve read the reviews before going. Highly upset. Venue was not as expected and filled with unfriendly staff! Did not enjoy my time and money spent!!

For the younger crowd. Wide open space makes it more for dancing than talking. Beautiful bartenders very polite and tidy

Extremely dissatisfied!I’ve heard horrible things about this place but still decided to try it myself. For starters, the security is extremely rude compared to other clubs/ lounges in the area. They never stick to 1 price when entering and try to upcharge you and pocket the extra money. The bartenders are SUPER slow! It took nearly 10 minutes for a girl to make 2 simple cocktails. They work really slow near happy hour to ensure the people who are still waiting have to pay regular price when it’s their turn. You aren’t allowed to stand by the bar or sit at any empty couches/ tables. They make you buy a bottle if you want a table. Your hookah will be on the floor so don’t waste your time. We ended up getting a bottle of Henny Priv ($420) which is ridiculous even for a wack nightclub. Not to mention we only received 1.. YES 1 bottle of cranberry for the whole bottle. Extra ginger ale and cranberry were upwards of $10+ for 1. Keep in mind this was a slow Thursday night. This club used to be a lively Caribbean spot that played chutney, soca, reggae, dancehall, bollywood and somehow the owners let it become a jungle that only caters to the black crowd even though the majority of people would be Indian. I wouldn’t waste my time ever going back again and I regret not listening to the disappointing reviews.
