Arrived to a beautiful location on the lake! Inside the buildings, however, are a bit dated and in need of a refresh. Front desk staff seemed overwhelmed with our arrival... There were quite a few people all coming at the same time. Banquet rooms were on par with the rest of the buildings. When it rained, lots of leaks noted on our wet tables. Air-conditioning struggled in all rooms. Room on 3rd floor had a small balcony with a nice view; mattresses need to be replaced. Bathroom was tiny, but everything worked. The carpet everywhere needs to be taken out ASAP.... please. Pool areas were nice and inviting. After staying here, Id probably go elsewhere if coming back to the area especially for the price.
I’ve come here twice to speak and have been equally disappointed. The rooms smell, the carpet is disgusting and everything is old. The mattresses are worn out.I just left and am staying at a nearby Holiday Inn Express and it feels like a hotel - it’s clean and has a cool, refreshing vibe. I don’t know how much the rooms cost because my clients handle it but they need to charge half of it until they renovate.Prayerfully the consistent reviews of the state of this property will prompt renovations.
Very friendly and helpful staff, clean beds but dated room. Tons to do on the property but I still found it a bit pricey.Pet Friendly and kid friendlyBring good walking shoes, ear plugs, a cooler and use the map they give you. There was ice and vending in my building and I saw a microwave in the lobby.
Id say this is a 3.5 star review. I stayed one night in a condo suite with two others. The kitchen and living room is nice, and each room had its own private bath. The condos are farther from the water, but the view was still nice. The tiles in the bathroom and entry way really need some attention. The tile was cracked, several tiles would move when you walked on them, and the grout was wearing. The bathroom is roomy but outdated, and our towel hanger was trying hang on the wall itself, let alone our towels. In the living area, the smoke detector was hanging down from the ceiling by the wires. The fridge was clean, which is a big deal for me.Like others said, the lodge lobby is really beautiful! I wish we had that carry throughout the complex. Also, the bed gave us a good rest.Would I stay here again? Sure. Would I recommend it? Also sure.
We stay for 3 nights in the Avila on the hill. The rooms were nice. There were some maintenance issues that needed to be addressed. They seemed to be short staffed, but all the employees were very friendly. The huge hot tub and indoor/outdoor pool was awesome. They have four pools. We ate breakfast at the Breeze Restaurant and had a nice family dinner at the HJ Restaurant. The entertainment was a live saxophone player. They had live music on the roof where we watched a beautiful sunset over the lake. We had a great family vacation.
I’m only reviewing the experience we had watching the 4th of July Fireworks. They advertised their show on the visitor guide and our hotel, Camden on the Lake, had a list of places to watch fireworks. The Four Seasons Lodge was listed. No information other than the address in both places I found the show advertised. We got here around 7 pm to find very few patrons but all areas reserved except one seating area that could fit roughly 15 people. Who advertises a show and only has seating for 15 people??? There were two bartenders trying to serve about 100-150 people. The people were ordering several rounds and food. The line to order was very crazy. I wish in the advertisements it was mentioned that you can reserve seating. Finding only 7-8 first come seats when we arrived was flabbergasting! People who arrived at 7:30 or later couldn’t sit anywhere. The sun was a killer at 7pm but there was no shade to be had unless you had reserved a table. The fireworks were great! The experience, not so much. We’ll probably go somewhere else next time.
As others have noted the rooms are dated. It’s fair for what you pay for, Margaritaville is twice as much and rooms aren’t that much better. Beds were comfortable, rooms were cleaned. The breakfast buffet is very basic, i would find another place for that. Robert at the front desk was professional and courteous.
A gentleman cleaning rooms named Tom was very polite, helpful and thoughtful.Rooms were spotless and comfortable.Front desk clerk was friendly and informative. We had a lovely stay. We look forward to coming back through on our way home 😁
This is an older lakeside Lodge resort hotel. I have to admit the room had a little bit of a musty smell to it but it was very large The view was excellent and I was comfortable. I did not realize though that they do not have made service every night as a lot of hotels have gone to this I do think it sucks and I didnt see it mentioned anywhere so I was surprised that my bed wasnt made after my meetings that day. I think this is a big shortcoming of hotels these days. But overall I would surely stay here again but I would ask for a daily maid service.
Let’s start with the cons so we can end on a good note.Cons: rooms are nasty! Carpet needed replaced about 20 years ago, it’s disgusting. Upon check in our room was not ready until well after the 4pm check in time. Room was not the room I reserved so we had to settle for one on a different floor. Beds had so much hair and even fake eyelashes stud to them! We did get all new bedding but we were so grossed out we tried to find another place to stay but nothing was available. Smells of mildew and stale cigs. Food is not great and WAY over priced. Main inside attraction (large water fall) was inop due to a huge leak but they left all the standing water so now it smells and is stagnant. O and guests shooting fireworks off their balcony. Anyone and I mean anyone can get into the hotel as no doors (other than you room and the spa pool) require a key card. PARKING IS HORRIBLEPros: location to shopping and the views from the grounds are great. Nice pools although the vent covers at the bottoms are covered in hair, kinda gross. Very interesting decor and interior. Somewhat friendly staff. Live music was nice. Pet friendly and not many places around there are.In a nut shell, I would not stay here again. The room was just way to nasty and the place is just way to outdated and smells of a nursing home.
The lounge at the Four Seasons Hotel is truly a hidden gem! The views from the rooms are absolutely breathtaking, offering panoramic vistas of the city skyline or the beautiful surrounding landscape. The lounge itself is elegantly designed, with comfortable seating and a relaxed ambiance. One of the highlights of the lounge is the steam bath, which is perfect for unwinding after a long day of sightseeing or business meetings. Additionally, the hotel offers a number of restaurant options, each serving delicious cuisine that caters to every palate. Whether youre looking for a romantic dinner, a casual meal, or a quick bite to eat, the Four Seasons Hotel has you covered. Overall, the lounge at the Four Seasons Hotel is a wonderful place to stay, with its stunning views, luxurious amenities, and exceptional dining options.
This is the first time I gave a hotel a one star.Tonight was our first night at the hotel and it was a disaster. We had a suite booked a month in advance and when we show up they say they can’t give it to us because the kitchen is being remodeled. They moved us to two bedrooms but we needed a suite for the kitchen. After complaining they sent us to a suite with no AC. They’re trying to get us a a new suite now and it’s past 11:00pm. I’m so tired 😪. The customer service makes us feel like we’re at fault and aren’t willing to be flexible.
The staff was top notch! It is clear they are all well trained on how to deliver the BEST customer experience. That was much appreciated and necessary given that the rooms lack so much luster. They are in desperate need of not only an update, but a deep cleaning! The bedding was stained. The carpeting was absolutely deplorable! One could hardly move your bags down the hallway because of all the lumps and bumps in the carpeting. Then the room carpeting was stained and grimy. Never not once would I have dreamt to have been without shoes in my room. A lot of the amenities are just terribly outdated. I suppose it is tolerated because of the location of the lodge with being on the lake. Parking wasn’t always convenient either and some of the features throughout the resort weren’t operational or open which was unfortunate. The views were beautiful. The landscaping was amazing. There is an actual koi pond. It is a kid friendly environment but can also be seen as an adult only atmosphere as well. Kind of a mixed bag. For the price of the room per night, I did expect it to be a lot nicer. Did I mention, while staying for 3 nights , we weren’t not given any room service ? I’ve stayed at less expensive resorts and had a classier room with more amenities and a free breakfast. This stay also did not come with any meals at 225.00 a night for a 2 queen bed room.
The Lodge of Four Seasons was a last minute trip for my family and I. It was our back up resort as our original resort choice was fully booked. I booked it without looking at the reviews and then looked - eek, I was nervous.Several of the reviews about the property and rooms being outdated are absolutely spot on. We stayed mid-June and it was definitely hot and sunny. We were disappointed by the lack of shade options at the pool. There were 2 cabanas that were available for rent and 1 umbrella of a 4 person table. While I understand lots of folks come to the pool for sun, not everyone wants that. There’s no shade provided by the trees or other structures of the resort. So be aware. Our first room (we stayed in the condos) had the vents shut and was 80°. After setting the AC temps down, we hoped for the best and went to bed. But the AC never worked correctly and we woke up with the temps still at 80°. After speaking with the front desk, Robert called us to apologize and was very understanding. He told us he would move our rooms, put a rush on cleaning so we could get in quickly and offered a discount for our inconvenience. I felt he did a great job quickly responding to our issue. So thank you Robert for your service! The view was great from our balcony. The service at Fire and Ice was wonderful. My children were not phased by any of this and had a great time.
I will start off by saying this wasnt a terrible experience. There are a few things alone that could have made it a good experience, though. When we arrived, the gentleman who opened the door was polite and friendly. Seth at the front desk was also very friendly, and let us check in early. We get around the building to where our room is in the atrium. When you walk in, youre instantly hit with the smell of musty stagnant water. The used to be fountain feature still has standing water. You can literally see the layer of scum that is smelling the whole place up. The part that blows my mind is that we saw at LEAST 5 workers driving around on golf carts basically doing nothing. Youre telling me you cant afford a pump and a garden hose to get that nasty water out? That in itself is the reason we wont be returning. Put some bleach in it or SOMETHING the smell is terrible. The pools were nice, but they could also use a cleaning. The room was clean. I didnt have any bathtub horror stories like some other reviews. Overall, for the price, it was fine. Would I return? No. That smell alone was just too much.
The hotel room was quite outdated, and dirty. We found pieces of old food and candy under furniture, and our room had to be cleaned after we moved in. The food within the hotel was not good. My partner found a dead insect in his food, and at the outside bar, the drink I was given had dead insects too. The cheese platter we ordered was a complete health hazard. Overall, it was tolerable and the people working there were nice, but definitely not planning to come back after our experience.
I paid a $200 incidentals fee and was not told of at charges extra until I saw the charges on my account after leaving and I called.I used a 3rd party to book. The hotel said their “resort fee” and “pet fee” weren’t included so they’d be charging me $159.00. This was not told to me upon check IN or check OUT. I feel like that is shady business as those are not incidentals that they held my money for.On top of all that, this hotel isn’t anything above a motel, so the resort fee alone blows my mind. The ice machines are now fixed but don’t use the cubes for your drinks as there are mosquitos and other bugs in it! There are no refrigerators in the rooms either and the sink is in the room, not the bathroom. The water faucets are junk and you can’t get cold water at any of them. The housekeeping which I did myself because it doesn’t come at all during your stay. So to do my own cleaning, trash, going to get towels and new bed sheets etc and then I get charged more money than the 900 I already paid, is insane.
This hotel has seen better days. Paint covered water damage in the bathroom, not repaired. Peeling paint. Rippling carpet in the hallways. Staff was courteous and helpful. Large cinnamon roll for breakfast in cafe was hard as a rock and needed a steak knife to saw through the middle. My dinner was good in the evening. We had a great experience on a pontoon ride with Richard as our captain rented through the hotel. The hotel needs a reno.
I stayed July 4th. When I arrived after a long day, the indoor swimming pool had food all around it and their bathrooms were unclean. The parking was awful, I arrived at 4:15 PM, there was no parking available and I as a paying guest had to park on the grass half a mile away. The food was good overall but they were out of a lot - > jello shots, milk, etc. Overall decent, I would not recommend during a holiday
I struggled writing this review. The property itself had some gorgeous areas and views. The problem is I stayed in the Jr Suite at the atrium and it gave motel vibes. The room area was large and open but the bathroom you can’t even close the door. The first room we got had not been clean. Every surface had dust and lint. And a huge red stain on the curtain. Mold was in the shower. The water in the building fountains was not running. Someone had thrown up in the water and it had not been clean. Even after staying all weekend it was not cleaned. The carpet had evidence of flooding / water damage. We brought up all the to the front desk and was moved 2 doors down. There was not evident stains but still mold in that shower and dust. We had very limited options being it Memorial Day weekend. The ice bar and pool area were great so we tried to spend as much time offsite or outside as possible. I would be open to staying here again, for a discount in a more modern and clean room. Nothing was offered to us to accommodate the issue we ran into. Even after asking for the new room to be service. They made the bed, replaced towels but didn’t change the sheets
Upon arrival, there were clear crow bar pry marks on the door, indicating someone used one to open the door at some point in time. The room was extremely outdated, and DIRTY! There was a Zyn Tobacco pouch stuck to the wall, a previous guests hat on the floor next to the bed, and a water bottle cap on the floor. The room was clearly not cleaned well between visitors. We also found a pair of someone else’s DIRTY UNDERWEAR on the floor in the closet. The room also did not have a fridge or microwave. The room was extremely disgusting and I would never recommend this place to anyone.
Where to start. Lobby is cool and that’s about it.The carpet is stained, bunched and looks dirty. There are bees on the balcony - do not go outside to sit. Water stains covered up in the bathroom on the walls and the ceiling. TV didn’t work first day and a half. The bathtub is so disgusting looking you don’t really want to use the shower - forget about a bath.Elevator and windows looking outside from hallways filthy. Almost forgot - walls so thin could hear conversations and a baby crying for hours last night.I’m grateful I’m only here two nights and leave tomorrow. Was supposed to be a relaxing two days and I can’t stand the rooms.I wouldn’t stay here again or recommend.I notice the manager has a canned response to all of the same complaints. My suggestion- show this to the owners. The ones who are on the tv video (saw after my tv was fixed this am) talking about the history of this place. Maybe they need to spend a few nights in some of these rooms to see why people are complaining, especially for the prices. I’m sure this place was great in the beginning, but now it’s gross.
Perhaps this place was great in its day, but its really showing in age. For the price of the rooms, they should be able to afford some basic upkeep and maintenance. Theres chipped paint on the walls throughout the hotel, the carpet is old and rippling, and the whole place just has an odd smell. In my room alone, pieces of the crown moulding were missing, there was a random 2x4 on the floor, the tub faucet was rusty and had stained the rim of the bathtub, and the carpet was fraying.
I visited friends staying here so I saw the lobby and interior but didn’t personally stay in the room, but none of them had a great experience. From wet floors in room (from ceiling leak) to coffee maker not working, this place is aged and falling apart. The restaurant was nice enough and the live music on Friday night was cool, but the lobby seemed stale and old, ie 1970s with a few areas upgraded in their attempts to make it looks newer. It just looks weird. It’s very vintage and old school. The views are great tho. The gardens and outdoor pools looked decent. I can’t recommend to my friends based on my experience.
PLEASE PLEASE READ Everything from beginning to end was horrible about this hotel. The lodge of four seasons is a rip off, customer service is horrible, my room was filthy and disgusting, definitely no way close to the $900.00 I paid for. This will have to stop. First of all I booked my room with the hotel directly, I asked questions and was lied to so bad! My room didnt have any of the hotel amenities that the representative told me that I would have. It was so horrible that I cannot stop at just writing a review. This is just the beginning. $900.00 wasted. For $900.00 the room was super small, I paid for a king size bed and a pull out. I did not get that, no complimentary breakfast that I was supposed to get. Bugs 🪲 in the room, blinds filthy, bugs on the blinds, in the ice machine, trash at the front door with tracks of ants.....I can go on and on and I am! As I stated I cant let this keep happening and I dont have money to just give away. Im embarrassed that the not hotel but motel would have any human being stay in such an out dated, bug infested, over priced room. The lodge of four seasons is definitely not The Four Seasons! Never again! I really dont want to give the hotel a star but I have to see ppl can see this warning! Dont choose this motel!https://photos.app.goo.gl/aurpXLFN8XxmPv48Ahttps://photos.app.goo.gl/noHTgs
Link to full video below. The Memorial Day fireworks display is always spectacular. We find great joy in living near the Lodge, and witnessing the magnificent fireworks from the sky was truly astonishing, and very enjoyable to capture.https://youtu.be/zA-qmHyixL0?si=IrYXaI7LDO6OU7M9
There are certainly some redeeming things about this place, but as many have mentioned, the hotel rooms are a disaster. Upon entering my room, I found that all of the electronics were unplugged, the blinds were broken, mold was growing in the bath, rust spots were all over the bathroom ceiling, dead insects were in the bathroom lights and the carpet next to the bathroom had some sort of waxy substance coating much of it. Luckily, my daughter and I did not stay in our room very long so these things didnt impact us much, but you would think this place would be much better for the price. I, along with anybody I know, will not be back as there are too many good hotels around Lake of the Ozarks to put up with a place that simply doesnt care about its customers.
If staying in their condos, be prepared to do alot of walking or waiting on shuddle rides. Access to the pools require a process to get to unless you stay right in the pool courtyard. Not at all a good place to stay if you have someone handicap or small children. Even getting to the main building for breakfast we had to drive our own vehicle. As shuttle doesnt run till 11.
First things first, for everyone making review please be honest and don’t sell others a DREAM! My 100% experience and honesty. To be completely honest hotel location is perfect, beautiful (outdoor) sight, lake,(outdoor) atmosphere is wonderful. Hotel rooms are awful no words could explain to sum everything in one. Don’t have the time nor the day to go fully into details😒 But please beware if you’re reading reviews “DO NOT” book here guys I’m warning you especially with children! I’m begging😩 but hey, go on ahead only if you’re desperate!!!! Horrible, very much sickening. All the money you spend and rooms are terrible. I will be contacting corporate definitely. Unbelievable, was definitely frustrated and started to cry after viewing rooms getting my hopes up!!!! The bay rooms deserves a 0 rating no type of lies here! Really wish I took pics but walked out room so fast due to disappointment and unbearable room sight! Torn and stained blinds, pillow cases stained, bed sheets unfolded, balcony stabled, bathroom looks like a motel (no lies) bedroom floors carpet stained and smells, door paint peeling/chipping omg etc; Vacation was definitely ruin😞 Blood sugar dropped tremendously low due to my frustration and stress. I’m done here! PLEASE BEWARE travelers!!!!!!!! 100% honesty
This was my second stay here. This time its been a nightmare! Got here yesterday after extensive drive from IL. Checked in with Rachel. Went to my room exhausted, opened the door and the room was trashed. Hadnt remotely been serviced yet. Put all my stuff back in my car including my dog, drive back up front from back side of property. Walk in the lobby 4 people in line now. 2nd person in line making 8 reservations. I wait 30 minutes in line she gives me another room. Go to that room, take all my stuff in, turn on the TV and leave as I had a reservation at HK. Get back hour and half later, TV still buffering. Call Rachel and she sends maintenance. Maintenance said the box is broken and has been since Friday and he told them to take the room offline at the desk. So now move number 3. Get to that room maintenance tells me theres a problem with the air but hes working on it. As the night progressed my room got to 80. I go down and talk to Rachel. I said why cant you move me to the room that simply needed cleaning to begin with. She never requested the room be cleaned. Its Tuesday morning and she hasnt called yet about moving me. Nathan from maintenance rocks and he did fix my air. I was supposed to have a room over looking the pool by the way. Now Im in a room overlooking a gazebo roof. They rank with a Baymont or Motel 6 at this point. I dont pay $260/night for piss poor rooms and service. I didnt realize how horrible the building looks until this 2nd stay, plus last time I was in a Lanai room. I would of made this a routine, probably would of gotten a condo next year, but nope. Im stuck here now 3 more days! Totally sucks to be somewhere you dont want to be.
We love Lodge of Four Seasons- it’s our tradition to go several times a year. Checkin staff is amazing along with housekeeping, maintenance and the Fire and Ice crew (pool bar).Thank you for making us feel at home. Coffee bar lady rocks I believe she has been there for 20 years and her son works as manager or up front. Oh I cannot forget most important the marina staff their manager she is a staple there 😎. Don’t forget to take cash so u can tip them. Thank you to all. You will never be disappointed staying here.
The service was great- Danielle at front desk was super nice. I was excited about staying at a 4 seasons hotel and was disappointed about the actual hotel. Very old and outdated, lukewarm water in the very old shower. We had dinner at the hotel restaurant which we enjoyed our server Chelsea was great. It just did not feel like what I thought the 4 seasons would be!
The lobby is gorgeous and I’m sure the rest of the hotel was too at some point, but is currently VERY dated. The carpet in the hallways is bunching all over and looks terrible! The paint on the doors to the rooms is scuffed, stained and rubbed off in a lot of places. The pictures the hotel displays on the Internet are very deceiving and don’t really portray the hotel in 100% true light. We have stayed there 2 times and both times have had SOMEONE ELSES black hairs all over the beds! GROSS and NASTY! Whoever is cleaning these rooms needs to do better! GROSS! We had drove 6 hours in mostly thunderstorm type of weather with monsoon rain, and were ready to go to bed, however after the nasty hairs were discovered, I contacted the front desk to get CLEAN sheets (clean sheets should’ve already been on the bed BEFORE checkin - JS) and almost an hour later they were FINALLY delivered! I feel like Sponge Bob Cartoon - 1 Hour Later (She was super nice!) The next issue - we checked into a Non Smoking room and there was a slight odor in the room that smelled like lingering cigarette smoke. As the night went on it got 100% worse - like make me sick to my stomach worse. I have no clue if it was coming from outside, the room above, the room below or either rooms beside ours but IT WAS TERRIBLE! The cigarette smoke finally tapered off around 1:30am. The water pressure in the showers are bad, we had to turn the shower head from the normal setting to the pulsing setting in order to get the soap and shampoo rinsed off. The parking situation is terrible, no place to park especially when the front desk tells you to park in the back because it will be closer to your entrance. My one compliment is how nice the staff is!! Every person we encountered that night was super nice!
The hotel and spa staff were kind of snooty and seemed annoyed at any questions i had. The heated pool and outdoor pool was amazing and i loved the firepits. The food was good, and the drinks at the bar were better. The bartender was so kind and she did really great with the drinks. The rooms were really nice but the shower head was kind of broken and made a really awful sound + had barely any water the whole time. Overall 3.9
DO NOT STAY HERE! THEY ARE CONARTIST AND WILL STEAL FROM YOU. I booked this room only to read the most awful reviews. When I canceled the reservation a week before the reservation date, I was told my credit card could not be refunded and they would mail me a check. When I refused they offered to apply it to another card? Thats when I realized I was dealing with a con artist.I had to call my credit card company and get a new credit card. We still have not received the almost $500 bill and we never stayed at the hotel. DO NOT stay at the this hotel and DO NOT give them any credit card information. They will steal from you. Worst customer service ever and not to be trusted.
We wouldnt stay here again. The good:1. The beds were very comfortable (we had 2 double beds)2. The grounds outside are beautifulThe bad:1. No housekeeping! For $250+ per night, there should be daily housekeeping! The sign in the bathroom says, If you choose to reuse your towels, hang them up & if you want new towels put them on the floor. That implies housekeeping would be coming to see where I put my towels and replace if I needed new ones. We put our towels on the floor since we had taken multiple showers (after being in the water that day)...AND because there are NO TOWEL RACKS to hang a towel on! (Only 1 hook on the back of the door... not enough for more than one person.) Want us to reuse towels? Then provide somewhere to hang them!! AND LET US KNOW THERE IS NO HOUSEKEEPING!When we asked at the front desk why no one came to make up our room, we were told that it was due to covid. ARE YOU SERIOUS?? Covid was FOUR years ago. Sounds like a greedy company using an excuse to not hire an appropriate number of staff, yet charge grand fees and pad their pockets. No hook near sink either, to hang even the hand towel on.2. The coffee maker in the room didnt work properly. PLUS, they only put 3 k-cups in the room... so no more coffee past the first morning since there is NO HOUSEKEEPING to replenish. But hey, you can go downstairs and PAY $6 for a tiny cup of coffee to help pad their pockets!3. The stairs from the main level to the 2nd floor were never vacuumed while we were there (and they were gross), and it was obvious that its been many, many years since they have used a carpet cleaner on the hallway carpets.4. More pocket-padding-- on our first evening, I witnessed a couple try to get some water from the complimentary fruit infused water dispenser, which had ice, but no more water in it. When they asked the front desk for more water, instead of refilling the water dispenser, the staff member gave them a bottle of water, then proceeded to CHARGE them for it!5. Peak season, and they didnt staff the bars properly. We couldnt get a drink without waiting in line for 30+ minutes at 2 different bars.So disappointed in the nickle & diming at this luxury resort. We wont return and we will never recommend it to anyone.
Overall give it about a 3.2. Great service, needs some TLC, not handicap accessible. The service 5 stars: staff was amazing and friendly, even when kids were prank calling the front desk Danielle was professional about it.The hotel 3 stars: 60s themed which is nice. Only issue is there is rotted wood everywhere you look outside, its not new rot either been there a few years and is getting worse, some yearly maintenance would solve this. Paint peeling over the place and some panels of wood missing. The Japanese rooms are beautiful main issues is the door needs blinds on the door, as when you leave the room the curtains are open and anyone can see in your room.Handicap accessible 1 star: from the main lobby you can go to the normal rooms which have 2 elevators which one was out. But to get down to hallway with the pool, spa, movie theater, and bar you need to leave out the main lobby and go in thru the pool doors. However there is no way to the pool, spa or movie theater. The pool has a handicap into the pool, but only way to the pool is down about 20 feet of stairs. There is a closed up door that use to have a spiral staircase that went into a family space. This space has been turned into a bar and the door boarded up. The simple solution is to redo the bar unboard this door and add a service elevator for the handicap. From this the spa is right there on the other side of the pool wall. Could add a door to both the theater and the spa. The movie theater is a nice touch but the only microwave is across the whole lodge.
We weren’t lodgers only HK diners here. The service was slow which was ok since it gave my spouse and I some time to connect. They happened to have live music the evening we were (Starla and Steve maybe?) which was excellent and made up for the otherwise lack of ambiance. We were sat at a table which seemed to be an old lobby end table and chairs meaning you’re essentially eating out of your lap. The onion rings were the best thing but overall the food was just overpriced Applebees. Overcooked fish, stale/store bought desserts in the sense of canned frosting and fruit filling. The view from HKs was so disappointing! The little lookout over the lake was overgrown with trees while all other windows gave views of building walls and air con.
Very outdated. The carpets were all bunched up. I called to ask if the facility was handicap friendly and they were not. Could not get to the hot tub or indoor pool. None of the doors have a button to open the door. The room was disappointing. The parking is awful!
This is just the same old Lodge of the Four Seasons. It has not been signifacantly rehabbed in years and the layout is not good. Parking is terrible and on the back side of the building dangerous. The views of course from most rooms are great because it is the lake but that alone will not win more votes. Their resturant option are overpriced and underwhelming. When I am there I try not to eat at the hotel because the choices are not good. Most of their ice machines are always down and if you want Ice for your drink you have to wander the hotel to multiple floors to find a working ice machine. The walkways from the lobby to the conference rooms all seem to be getting more and more bouncy every year. I can not wait until our groups multi year contract ends for this location so we can get away from here. Unfortunatly the Lake of the Ozarks just does not have a great place for large events. So many groups are stuck here.
We were very surprised the room didnt have a refrigerator or a microwave. Couldnt really watch anything on TV as it would buffer constantly. Room was clean and nice water view. Wont stay here again .
Had a wonderful time the staff is amazing. My wife lost an earring, the staff went out of their way and found and returned it. So grateful. Will visit againToddPittsburgh Pennsylvania
This place is not a four star anything, dated grounds and rooms, filthy carpets with ants everywhere and I do mean everywhere. Check in is at 4 we didn’t get checked in until 6:30 was told they would wave the resort fee but wouldn’t not give me a print out because they would later charge that fee. Over all not a good experience, do yourself a favor and avoid this place.
Ive heard about this place most of my life but had never stayed there. Unfortunately we were really sick shortly after checking in and left early and werent able to enjoy the beautiful location and all it offers.... next time!
We prebooked rooms they switched them on us last minute and everybodys room wasnt ready when we arrived. Had to wait 3 hours for some of our rooms to be ready. Other than that the rooms are nice staff was nice.
The beds were super small. My room was supposed to sleep five. It was arachnophobia around their spiders and spider webs all over
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. People need to remember that it is at the Lake of the Ozarks, not Lake Como. Service was good, pools were great, location is excellent. 3rd time staying there and will stay again!
The Resort was built in 1964, and while the common spaces in the main lodge have been updated, the rooms seemingly have not. This is not to impune the other rooms, only the ones in the main lodge. It appears that they have never been fully renovated (i.e. gutted and rebuilt) and there are still plenty of design elements from last century. For example, a telephone in the bathroom is completely unnecessary and screams outdated. The resort itself is self-contained with golf, a spa, a marina and more, located directly on the lake, and is very good. If they only bothered to reinvest in the rooms, it would increase in value in my estimation.
Terrible wifi, place is outdated and dirty. Definitely not a four star or luxury experience! Pool is nice but bar is overpriced ($14 for a pina colada)
I do not recommend booking here! They give up your room without even calling to see if you’re coming?! Absolutely will never be staying here ever again!!! Don’t book here!!!
Could not figure a way to take debit card as credit card and I was over limit and declined. Front desk not equipped to handle non-credit card customer. I had a pre-authorizatuon that she released. If she had not done that, credit would have been approved. I had plenty of funds for transaction. Then screwed my card up so bad could not use until went to bank on Monday, not even at an ATM. I was moneyless for three days except cash on hand, luckily $300 and asked a colleague to pay for my room. EMBARRASSING!!! Never again. Sorry. Management was not called or interested in a cure since they got their money.
This was the most disappointing hotel experience Ive ever had. I thought I was treating myself to nice accommodations while in town for a conference. The tub was dirty and had hair in it, the sink was leaky and flooded the bathroom counter with water, the heater was rusty and loud; it woke me up numerous times during the night. The water in the shower went back and forth between scalding hot and freezing cold and would never stabilize. Some of the towels were dirty like they had been dropped on the ground outside. The outdoor area leading to the rooms is carpeted. Since it had rained, it was very musty and dirty. I honestly probably could have tolerated some of that. However, there was a door to the outside patio area that was the reason I had to cancel my three night stay after just one night. The blinds were cut or broken around the door handle and anyone could have seen into my room. The lock was also not secure. It would lock but you could still open the door about an inch. It was absolutely not okay. I checked in late and it was already about 10:00 PM at this time, and I had to be somewhere at 6:00 AM the next morning so I honestly did not have the time or energy to deal with it then. Luckily I was able to find accommodations elsewhere the next day in between meetings. The person who checked me in at my new hotel commented that she knew all about how bad Four Seasons is and that they are apparently closing down. I guess this means they arent even trying to fix basic safety issues. Stop booking people, or at least be honest with your pictures of rooms and dont charge people more than $40 a night for something worse than I can expect at a roadside motel.Worst hotel experience of my life. The ONE redeeming quality was the staff at the front desk. They were nice. But that is it.
We checked in and our toilet wouldn’t flush! The chain was rusted and broke inside! The mini fridge would not get cold. It took to 11:30 pm for the toilet to be fix! We spent a lot of money for two nights! I ask for a roll away bed and was told $20.00. All the money I am spending this weekend this is not ok! We are here for gymnastics and my kids had to stuffer
Expected more “wow” for the price. Took care of the basics. Hot tub in repair, no room service and no continental breakfast. They did not advertise room service or continental breakfast. I just hope they consider the gesture. Staff was exceptionally courteous and responsive.
Rooms not being cleaned. Had to ask for towels. Had an ada room and no pull bar. Took me 15 minutes to get my wife out of tub. Food was good and service in HKs was good. Carpet needs replaced badly. Lucky to have discount from conference and still over priced.
Its a wonderful location, however the place needs some serious updates. We hosted a large group event here and found the staff to be difficult to work with and unprofessional. I think with the right owners or management this place could be truly remarkable.
Stayed for a conversation last weekend. Not impressed. Balcony and view very pleasant but as far as the room goes thats about it. Heat vent was covered in dust, desk was sticky, mold in the shower, Jacuzzi tub blew out mold when the pump was on and walls where filthy, towels where thteadbare. Now to the beds..first night I could not keep the sheets on the bed. The mattress pad was on inside out. Blood stain on the side that should have been out. Mattress had stains on both sides (yes flipped it), pillow cases where super yellowed. Found candy and chips on the floor around the beds. No ice machine in Avila. Staff was amazing but severely short handed..main lodge was beautiful, I personally love the vintage feel. Would have been nice if the coffee bar was fully staffed and had a few more options..my group meets here every year but think I will look at some of the surrounding lodges next year..the room I had was right up there with motel 6..rm was 15116 and it needs alot of attention.
Warning! This is not Four Seasons, ITS Motel 6Its a fire hazard. They have hidden fees that they dont tell you and will not clean your room, they said it due to Covid. I said we are past covid. If you go into the dining room its seats like 500 and you will see at least 3 people. I walked out after food poisoning and no wonder they have food expired. not enough revenue. Complete dump and will never return to the STATE
My husband and I enjoyed our off-season stay because we loved all of the history of this resort. The photos of celebrities in the restaurant were great, as well as the holiday decor. The staff was so accommodating also. I’d say the rooms and hotel overall could use some TLC as far as upgraded bedding and touch-up paint here and there. Lots of steps-so it may be difficult for those who need ramps.
Its always a fun, relaxing getaway. Love the spa and theater. Was disappointed that the lobby bar was not open for breakfast or lunch, although HKs was good. I have always liked the casual option and ability to take food to the room.
Imagine a hotel from the 60s that has never been updated or renovated. Its only one day away from being on a show called abandoned resort explorations or something like that. The buildings are in such decay with gigantic pieces just rusted away and missing. That cant be safe.It has creepy vibes throughout the property, like your being watched by a creeper the whole time. The pool has big windows on the first and second floor with one-way mirror glass, and cameras pointed at the pool and hot tub, but not the outdoor pool? Disgusting. Nobody was comfortable swimming here. Pool was clean, because a green pool makes it harder to creep on people I guess. The stairs down to the dock/fire pit area feel like they are made so people sitting down there can see you from every angle, as you walk down the stairs. The layout is a nightmare, it seems to be designed by someone who was very high. Impossible to find your way around with random locked doors. The landscaping is terrible. Rooms have tubs separating from the walls. Room numbers are painted different colors of green. Lots of keep out dont do this dont do that, rusty and cobwebbed closed for maintenance signs everywhere. There was a nice dock for sitting on and overlooking the lake, but the gate was welded shut. And the dock boards were falling into the lake. The restaurant was claimed to be 5 stars, not even close, they serve frozen vegetables and instant mashed potatoes. It feels like something out of the back rooms. This place is creepy. This would make a great episode for Kitchen Nightmares with Gordon Ramsay. I would pay to watch that, as long as I never have to come here again. Most awful hotel experience I have ever had. Its like a motel 3 with a theme. Im sure it was used for some crazy wild parties back in the 70s, its just gross. No thanks 👎
Very honest review. It is worth it to go here. The pools are great and there are 3 of them. The poolside bar is nice and the drinks were good. The place is beautiful, if you get a room with the lake view it’s beautiful to wake up too. on the other hand the rooms were very outdated. The carpet and furniture is very old. There is no fan in the bathroom so after showers it smells like water has been sitting in the room. The beds were not uncomfortable and everything seemed clean. But if the rooms were updated it would have been so much nicer to stay in. So yes id come here again, but don’t expect luxury in the room aspect of the stay.
Just stayed there off season 10-27-2023. Staff was amazing. The room had an amazing view of the lake and absolutely loved the clean super comfortable beds. Fell in love with this place and its charm. The only thing I would .like to see is an update with the bath shower/tub. Tubs just arent my thing. I like walk in glass/tile showers and thats just me probably because Im old at 60, :-). Thank you again for an awesome weekend.
It is one of the more senior locations, but it is still a great place to stay. The location is amazing, but the staff were outstanding (just like in their HKs Restaurant)! Special shout out to Katie, who greeted us so warmly we felt like we were truly welcomed there. Highly recommend this location.
(The main entrance, balcony, and bathroom doors of the room were very hard to open and close. If you got them çlosed all the way latched, it was incredibly hard to open back up. The bathroom did not have a fart fan. That was a big Con.) PRO: The lake view was awesome. The main lobby and restaurant area was very nice. I personally did not spend a lot of time there. I just walked through to get outside to the pool. The pool was nice, and it had a bar close. Didnt have to go far for food or drink. And really nice landscaping all the way around the pool. So other than the room doors not working properly and no fart fan In the bathroom, The place is very nice I would suggest staying.
The room my husband and I are staying in is a joke! We paid 209 before taxes and during the downtime of year, this is our Anniversary and we were so excited until we opened the door to our room. Our room is called the Lanai more like lajoke! We have one chair to sit in unless you roll over the desk chair. The room is so out of date and needs a face lift more than I do. The bathroom looks like a mobile home bath, very small and not clean. The toilet lid sits off to the side so you better hold on! I wont even walk on the carpet with my socks on. Holes in the lamp shade maybe its a new trend? And thats just a few things I saw. I will not be back, very sad to see a property go down hill and this one looks like its about to have its final days.
I love Lodge of Four Seasons. The restaurants are good and the pools and activities at the hotel are great. I love the style of the hotel and the Japanese garden. The hotel is also left but loved, clean and solid. I stay here about every two months when I come to the area. Never unhappy with this hotel.
We are staying one night at the Four season lodge in Lake of ozarks cause we saw the price was almost identical as others hotels in the area, so..a four season seemed so much better! But no. The hotel needs definitely maintenance and an updated URGENT. Beds are old and making noises, floor seems dirty, idk looks like and 70-80’s movie. Im sorry but it is. If you can go to a Holiday inn or la quinta and you’ll get breakfast at least. Im sorry to say this cause the best thing so far was a great lunch we had in the restaurant and the staff seems nice. But not worth the money. Everything seems like it needs maintenance and a deep clean
Interior: Definitely needs updated. The 80s kept calling me!! Carpet in hallways was loose, definite trip hazard. Layout: Very difficult building to navigate for a conference. Amenities: Coffee throughout the entire hotel was the worst. I was told the little coffee bar had good coffee. I PAID $3.25 for a cup. Exact same terrible coffee they gave us in meetings & room. Restaurant: restaurant was ridiculously understaffed. We waited about 2 hours for our food. It was excellent food, but there were only 3-5 other tables occupied. So restaurant needs help. The waitress was excellent and professional.
This hotel is in a great location with very nice & genuine staff. However, the website is very deceiving. The hotel feels dirty, and it is dirty. Our room was on the 4th floor, one of the elevators was out of service, the working one felt very unstable - it would shake and is likely due for inspection. Our room was very 1970’s like, the bathroom was honestly gross. We had to lay a towel on the bathtub floor to take a shower bc of the gross dirty stains. The bath towels that were supposed to be clean, smelled like wet dog. The shampoos and soaps provided are gross, I’d recommend bringing your own.The room needs a serious renovation make over. Our small patio required we law down a plastic pipe as a locking mechanism (I cannot make this up). There is a A LOT of opportunity for this property if they put Private Equity or Investor money (several millions likely) to overhaul and renovate this place. The doors to the rooms are old, our keys stopped working on two occasions - that needs to be updated. They have a garden that has beautiful views of the lake. The rooftop bar was interesting, again a lot of potential if they added some better lighting, gas fire pits etc.Again the staff and property location were great, the hotel itself is not as nice as it appears online.
Was first put in seasons bay the rooms that are not attached to the main part of the hotel. The room was kind of like it was in the basement and had zero cell service or WiFi. Phone in the room also didnt work. The decor was outdated. I went back to the front desk and asked to be moved to a better room in the main building. I was upgraded to a suite in the third floor. The decor in the main building has been updated some and looks much better than the other building. Over all the stay was good once I was moved.
I absolutely agree with other reviewers when they say this place is OUTDATED! I felt like I was stepping into an episode of the Brady Bunch when we arrived. Just the whole vibe of the place including the stuffy air inside just kind of put me off from the moment we stepped into the lobby. On the outside it appeared decent at most. The location is really what sold us since it’s right next to the lake. The price of the rooms couldn’t be beat but after arriving we could clearly see why.The hours for their restaurants and shops were weird. Everything was open for only a specific time. They had one restaurant that was basically only open for breakfast/brunch but closed around 3pm. Then their steak restaurant was open for dinner only. We had originally planned on trying the steak restaurant but after reading the reviews of the subpar food and service we decided to try somewhere else off of the hotel grounds. We arrived early and tried checking in but they’re advised us that our rooms were not ready yet and they took down our names to give us a call when they were ready. We didn’t mind that, we ended up walking around the hotel to see the resort. Honestly everything was just so outdated and it felt like a complete ghost town. The hotel is huge, I know they have way too many rooms that aren’t being occupied. The resort feels like it was popular about two decades ago but now it’s just sad. When we finally got to our rooms it was exactly what I expected at that point. Yes, it was larger than any other standard hotel room but that’s really where the positives ended. I was honestly scared to walk on the carpet, it felt so old. Everything about the room screamed 70’s. It’s like they hadn’t updated anything since the hotel originally opened. The bathroom was a bit questionable for cleanliness too.But our view from the room was nice! We had a partial view of the lake. The patio furniture consisted of two dirty plastic chairs. The way they have the patios set up is a bit suspicious too. The bars to the rooms next door are very wide so almost anyone can just walk onto your patio. I didn’t like that aspect because of safety issues. If you’re looking for a cheap place to stay in Lake Ozark then The Lodge of Four Seasons is it! Just be expected to be transported to the 70’s and stay there until you check out.
My husband and I visited this place from 7/6-7/8/23 for our 33rd wedding anniversary. We read all the great reviews online about how nice the establishment was. Only to get there and we felt like there was a bait and switch done. The room we had was seriously OUTDATED, not even a towel bar to hang your towels. It was like they pieced the room together, the bathroom was pink and didn’t match the room decor at all, there was no bathroom vent and as soon as we arrived in the bathroom sink was a huge spider crawling and one dead on the toilet. The windows were so dirty that we could barely see the lake. Dead bugs were all on the window seal, we left to go to the lake and when we cane back to our room there was a wasp that got in somehow and was trapped in the curtains, (poor thing). This hotel needs a serious upgrade, I can only assume the other rooms were the same, because when the housecleaning was there I peaked into 2 other rooms and found the same issue. The staff was not friendly at all. There were 2 restaurants, the one we finally was able to visit was severely short staffed. So much that they had a couple stand at the front desk waiting to be seated, even though the restaurant was super empty, she (waiter) said they had to wait because there was no staff. The other restaurant was only opened for breakfast. This is not the reviews or the rooms we saw online. VERY DISAPPOINTED, we felt like we were given the room from hell. Nowhere near a 4 star hotel.
Currently here and feeling frustrated. There are groups of kids (13-16) running the halls and knocking on doors. Ours has been twice. Its past midnight. For the price and upscale this lodge holds Im surprised they dont stop this. I called the front desk and was told there was nothing realistically they could do. So here we are on our engagement getaway dealing with disrespectful teens and unhelpful staff. Smh. Wont recommend to anyone or stay again. Want refund for our night 😡
Was there for a work conference. My room was great other than my bathroom floor was hairy & obviously hadnt been mopped\cleaned properly. I didnt utilize really any services, not sure if it was the hotel that catered our conference provided breakfast and lunch, but I felt the breakfast was bland & the sausage provided gave me a really bad belly ache. I heard several colleagues who are vegan\vegetarian comment on the lack of choices available to them. But as I said, not sure if the hotel provided that food or if the conference brought it in from elsewhere.
So far we are off to a bad start! Checked into my room and it was dirty! There was trash on the counter, used towels on the counter, piss in the toilet, and the floor hasn’t been vacuumed- the beds look sketch too - they are made but wrinkled like someone has slept on them. I am not impressed- I can lug everything back to the counter to get a new room or have the maid service come by and fixThe staff is amazing! Super shout out to Aiden in house keeping who went above and beyond and to Rooftop bartender Mike who thoughtfully gave me a pair of sunglasses to watch the sun set.
Every aspect of this hotel, besides the hotel rooms, are incredible! The staff was world-class. Honestly, they were some of the most selfless individuals Ive dealt with in a traditional hotel experience. The views of the lake are gorgeous, minus the construction equipment in the line of sight. My biggest issue with the stay was the hotel room. The king suite was gigantic! But the bathroom looked as if it was last renovated in the 80s; there were broken tiles everywhere, 80s style fixtures, the bathroom had one outlet not near the sink, a limited number of outlets in the room period, and the air conditioner sounded like a helicopter taking off. Luckily the room stayed cool, and the bed was comfortable! If I stay in the Lake of the Ozarks again, I will probably only stay at this hotel at a heavily discounted price or if the rooms are renovated.
It’s been 15 Days now when I was assured I would get my $100 Pre Auth back within a few days, 15+ days later and we’re still waiting, rooms were mid in comparison and the food was outrageously expensive for not even being top quality
Roof top dining is nice.. food is good and priced according..
While most of the employees are very nice, not much of the resort was open & some places were open at odd times (the Cafe offered a to-go lunch from 2-3 pm). Many of the rooms are in need of updates, but they are clean & spacious.
Property in need of updating but nice. Location excellent. Most interactions with staff were pleasant except for the food/breakfast staff. The breakfast was mediocre (and vastly overpriced) at best. Both order and/or buffet. However the breakfast staff was horrid. Obviously customer service was not a part of the plan. Based on the service and quality we never ate there during lunch or dinner hours.
I am furious right now. I called the property to make a reservation for 3 nights. I asked the woman specifically how much they would hold for a deposit and she said one night. Okay, great. Gave her my credit card info and asked her how much she was putting on my card. She said “I can’t see it on my end but you will get an email in a minute.” Okay, but only one night, correct? “Yes.” I open up my email and they charged the ENTIRE stay! I was still on the phone and told her what it said. She acted shocked and said she had been there two years and it was always a one night deposit. She said she would cancel my reservation but it might be a week to 10 days before I got a refund! I asked for a manager and was told someone would call me. 3 hours later, no call. I called and asked for a manager and was told there wasn’t one working. Seriously? And she didn’t even cancel the reservation. Such dishonesty and/or incompetence. What makes this heartbreaking is we were going to the lodge over thanksgiving because my son died of an aneurysm last year the night after the holiday. This year we just need to be somewhere different, not with the same traditions and we have good memories of being there as a family. This is not something I wanted to stress over.
Beautiful place, but be prepared to walk. The staff are extremely friendly.I cant count the amount of machines that have been out of order. Elevators, ice machines on all floors (except for main floor, outside on the otherside of the building) but if your looking for cold, the showers will provide! (I didnt get any hot water) 🥶🥶Do not bring microwaveable food, they do not provide microwaves other than (as far as Ive seen) a single microwave on first floor.Carpet on multiple floors are coming up, causing trip hazards, so carry your kids if they are younger.Other than all of this, and the rotting wood on some of the building outside that seem to be neglected, this place was nice. Also, smokers, be ready to walk 2 miles to smoke. I have been told there are designated smoking areas but never saw any. Which resorted to me having to smoke beside my car, across the street.
I visited for a big convention and this place is absolutely beautiful and peaceful! I most definitely will be coming back for more of a personal pleasure trip to visit their beautiful koi pond and to check out the views of the lake straight from the room!
Location and amenities are great! Carpets in the hallway are wavy and old, elevators are sketchy, bathroom shower had mold and no fan to help prevent that, and the ac unit sucked. Toddler parents beware, every railing in this place has enough of gap that a 3 year old could EASILY fit through. Think stairs, balcony, etc. I could probably fit through them if I tried.I will add that I would return if the price was a bit less than the nightly rate. The location truly is great.
I’ve been to this property several times and it’s always exceeded expectations until this stay. The hotel needs repairs and updating, but that aside the service, especially at the Breezes for breakfast was an absolute disaster. We ordered and it took one hour and 10 minutes and we had to get it to go because our sale meeting started and we were late. It was horrible service. Our room was run down. They haven’t been updated in 20+ years and we heard a mouse in the room. This property is definitely in need of help!
Just spent the weekend here with my daughter, niece, and sister for a girls weekend. The hotel was very nice. Beds were comfortable and the staff was super nice. The gym was great and the indoor/outdoor pool was the most awesome swimming pool we have seen in that area. The water was a very comfortable temperature and consistent when you swam to the outside portion. Beautiful views from the rooms. Walls are kind of thin as in you can hear anytime someone is in the hallways and you can hear people talking in other rooms. We had a great time nonetheless. They also have a movie theater that guest can enjoy movies at two different times of the day free of charge which was nice and something fun for the children. The restaurant HK was horrible and way over priced but did not ruin our trip we just know to never go back in there. We will definitely be staying here again.
This has a great mid century vibe! Sunken lobby with real working fireplace to hang. Rooms are also unique and fun, loved our fireplace in the lanai rooms. Everything was clean and well kept but the bathrooms are a bit dated. Restaurant had a great vibe, good drinks and food. Service overall was just average to be honest. Would recommend.
I gave the Lodge five stars but it is need of some updating with carpets, etc. But overall The staff are great. The bellhop delivered our bags to our room free. He was great. The cloverleaf pool is really cool and has an outdoor bar where you can also order food that is prepared at the restaurant. The first night we ate at HK’s resale which is on site. The food was very good but kind of pricey - $$$$. We had breakfast at Breeze’s restaurant which was very good and reasonably priced. Played golf at The Cove, ate at some other really good restaurants. Overall had a great stay.
I came here for a court clerk conference. A little outdated, but still nice and clean. Really a beautiful property. I called the front desk asking about the thermostat...it wouldnt go below 65. I like my room cold at night. They told me that because of stress on their units, that the thermostat was locked and couldnt go below that. They did, however, send up a box fan...which helped tremendously. The room was large, with two double beds. I only had two washcloths for three days . Not quite enough for me. Im sure I could have requested more. The carpet was worn and dirty. The walls were paper thin and I heard way too much...including my neighbors conversations. Everyone did seem very kind and helpful, which was a plus.
This was by far the worst experience Ive ever had away from home. The place is a run down old place with new paint, channel running as long the walls for new wires that couldnt be put behind the walls. The blinds were in disarray and broken, tub didnt drain, kids running through the hallways screaming all night, my girlfriend fell down on the Sandy walkways, the heat was all or nothing, as well as sounded like a train when it came on. Our TV didnt work, so we called the desk. They did send a guy who came and got it going, but after he left it just would freeze up. I didnt call again, Id had it by this time and just wanted to wake up and get out of their. It was a miserable experience and reminded me why I always use air bnbs.NEVER AGAIN!
We did a retreat at the Lodge and the service was top notch! If I could give the service 6 stars I would!
Nice relaxing stay, comfortable beds, nice lobby and restaurant, only downsides ate rooms a little noisy and the parking is not good, sometimes you have to walk a ways.
First off checking in was such a breeze. The lady at the front desk was so kind and very helpful (I didnt catch her name). We stayed in the Lanai room and it was absolutely stunning. Me and my boyfriend are already talking about booking a room to stay down here for our anniversary. Highly recommend staying here, you wont be disappointed!
Room dirty. No maid service dailyWaterfall in atrium not running had stagnant water. Ice machine brokenIn atrium. Carpets in hallway waterdamaged
The Loge of Four Seasons is awesome! I came here twice on my Married Couples Strong Bonds trip back when I was in the Army Chaplain Corps and they were both good experiences! The interior is decorated beautifully. The outdoor areas are beautiful. The food was good. The Lodge of Four Seasons is one of the best hotels I have ever been to! Without doubt I recommend this hotel. Have a great day!
Location is the only thing not getting a bad review. Dont waste your time or money nothing is as advertised. The employees are completely rude or lack knowledge except debbie who was the only one who seems to care or actually understands customer service. I dont know how the restaurant gets good reviews, they literally microwaved my wifes steak when she ask for it to be cooked medium. If they promise a refund for the terrible experience please make sure to get it in writing because once you leave its a completely different story. You couldnt pay me to come back to this place and not only will I not recommend but I will be sure to let everyone I know traveling to the area to not stay there. Also management please dont reply to this review to make it seem like you care you clearly dont.
I went to a wedding for my God daughter here, it is such a beautiful place..top to bottom and all around. Waterfalls, views, walking trails a very nice restaurant and bar. The do need better access for the handicapped, that would be appreciated. My BIG complaintHowever is Rob the wedding coordinator there, he was terrible, never helped just walked through..was nasty to the mother of the bride and the bride for running late..never checked on a thing unless to criticize and be rude and try to look important. We did all set up no help offered. He simply disappeared...The staff however who did food service and clean up were fabulous. The bar provided was sufficient but the bartender was not friendly and seemed overwhelmed. It was a smaller wedding but he needed help and since the wedding was at the rooftop bar location they shouldve opened up the bar space instead of bringing out a small podium bar.The wedding was wonderful regardless. We will be returning for fun the place is breath taking. Over all experience was TOP NOTCH. But they need to find a better coordinator for weddings. Rob was TERRIBLE
This lodge has clearly put a lot of work into the outdoor area: the main pool, gardens and patios are absolutely beautiful and very resort-like with beautiful views of the lake. Also liked that they have the Fire & Ice pool-side bar and you can order food from there. This outdoor space is the best part of the lodge. The rooms are the worst part of the lodge. The photography on the website is masterfully done to hide how outdated the rooms are. You’ll notice there are not really pictures of the bathrooms (with the exception of one suite bathroom I think). The bathroom of standard rooms have not been updated since I’d guess the early 1980s and they are not pleasant: missing grout, water and mildew stains, drain too slow to shower without standing in water. After seeing the photos online I was pretty disappointed to enter our room. It was motel style and we were on the ground floor so we had to keep our blinds pulled for privacy, there were constantly people walking by our window. We also never got our room serviced in 3 nights. Maybe they only service if you call and request? I tried but the in-room phone presets did not work. There was no fitted sheet on the bed (only 2 flat sheets) so my husband woke up each morning to find he was partially laying on the bare mattress which was discomforting. One of the biggest inconveniences was the WIFI was horrific and our phones did not get service there either. We couldn’t even get the lodge’s WIFI to load long enough to make dinner reservations or check area business hours. We had to drive up to the main road and use cellular to do anything (so book reservations in advance and don’t plan on working from this lodge!)Only positives on the room: the bed was comfortable, I didn’t notice too much noise form neighbors, and the AC kept up fine despite 100-degree weather.I really hope they have plans to renovate the rooms in the near future (and improve the wifi) - this lodge could be incredible.
Stayed here with a group of 23 family members of all ages. It was our first time at this resort. My feelings toward it are neutral. It’s a very old facility. You can tell they have put a lot of effort into updating certain areas. The restaurants are ALL VERY nice. The grounds are absolutely beautiful and well kept. The service was friendly in every aspect, especially the front desk and Bell Hop. On the flip side, there are ALOT of areas that need updates or leave a lot to be desired. The elevators are very slow, so I used the stairs a lot. The carpet on the stairs is oddly completely different from everywhere else, and completely stained. They looked pretty gross honestly. The carpet in the hall ways is an ugly mustard yellow and it’s bubbles up a lot. The rooms were ok, no real complaints other than half our party got stuck with I would say probably the worst view, we were at roof level and had awkward balconies where we could go out and kids could probably climb onto the roof if they wanted to. I don’t know what to suggest to make this more pleasing- but I’d at least discount the rates of these rooms. I would have rather stared at the parking lot than this.Ultimately it was ok. I think our family enjoys our experiences at Margaritaville a little better. But we did have some family members who enjoyed how peaceful this facility was better.I would definitely recommend completion of updates in the areas where it is lacking. And one more thing I would recommend, is having one facility serve food a little later. It is kind of a bummer that they all close at 9.I don’t have many pictures of the facilities but I’ll share the couple I do have.
I have always stayed at places closer to things within walking distance, but after staying here, I will reconsider that thought process. This place was in a super location, looked great and was nice & quiet. It was nice to go outside and not hear traffic, or deal with it. About the only thing you would hear, was boats on the water. Peaceful area for sure. Room was nice, enjoyed the balcony and the amenities the lodge offered. Would definitely stay here again.
Super terrible experience. We stayed at the three buildings to the left of the main area. All of the ice machines were broken. The phone in the room was broken. The room was grimy and way outdated, the beds must be the originals woke up in literal pain. AC unit was so loud and the walls so thin you could hear every boat that drive by. There wasn’t a fridge or a microwave, so we had no way to keep our stuff cool. We went to the main restaurant waited 20 minutes standing, they told us it was reservations only so they basically told us to leave after standing there forever mind you there was plenty of open seating. We didn’t have a do not disturb sign, the maid knocked on our door super early each morning. The maintenance guy was out blowing leaves at 8:30 on a Saturday. Wow, this is not a “resort” it’s an ancient relic that’s not reinvesting any money back into itself. They need to get it straight if they want to keep up with the times. Way too expensive for how cruddy it is. Much less the grounds are crumbling and the tennis court laughable!!!
The rooms are AWFUL. Bathroom disgusting, carpet dirty, beds have previous guest hair all over them. All night/morning long can hear people in the hallways and rooms next door. We actually debated driving 6 hours all the way back home we were so disappointed. Changed it from a 4 night stay to 1 night. Lobby is the only updated area of the hotels. Update your hotel already, way overpriced like it’s a higher end place.
On our way back to Tennessee I wanted to treat the wife to a few days of relaxation at nice resort in the Ozarks. I picked this resort based on reviews and pictures but it turned out to be a disappointment. We did visit off-season and knew that the facility would be operating at reduced capacity. The staff, overall was absolutely great but the facilities are in desperate need of remodeling/repair. As as you walk around the grounds you can see the age of the facilities and the state of disrepair in missing ceiling tiles, broken floor tiles, squeaky doors, and dilapidated windows. Their is a new addition that was either added or remodeled that is very nice and modern but all the other areas reflect a 1970s feel and have had little upkeep since. The areas that have been patched up display absolute poor craftsmanship and look like a band-aid repair.Wanting to splurge for the wife I selected their signature Lanai room and was immediately disappointed upon arrival. The price of the room did not include resort fees that were never disclosed until arrival and cost $15 per night. The extra cost of the room was not worth the price and, in retrospect, wish I would have taken the cheaper room in the remodeled section of the hotel. The Lanai room design is great but needs serious help. The curtains were torn, door hinges rusted, walls chipped, missing paint, windows with paint applied from last painting, and a 1970s style bathroom that needs attention (see pictures). The indoor swimming pool and hot tub are also very nice until you look up and see the rusted ceiling that could fall at any moment. We could not figure out what all the small specks were in the pool and hot tub but then identified the problem when we saw the ceiling and all the rusted portions. The ceiling has rusted particles that are flaking and falling off into the pool/hot tub as well as on the relaxing chairs along the pool. Not too sure how this has passed local inspections but it needs to be addressed. Recommend you wear eye protection if you are relaxing in the chairs as you could get a rust particle in your eyes. The resort food was very good but you will pay resort prices. HKs is worth visiting and has a lot of history displayed and the staff was great. We only had drinks and appetizers and the food was quite good. Breakfast in the small coffee shop was also very good and the portions quite large so show up with an appetite as you will not be disappointed. All in all the experience was disappointing based on reviews and website design and the resort did not live up to expectations. If visiting during the summer your experience could be quite different when the resort is operating at 100% and all facilities are open. If visiting we would recommend you book a room in the new atrium section of the hotel as it will have a modern look/feel and with a beautiful (man-made) stream flowing through the center of the building.
Definitely more cons than pros. Because we lodged here we were able to golf at porta cima which was so so amazing and the only pro to this trip. I know the ozarks is run down but I thought staying at a four seasons we would be okay. Boy was I wrong. Our room smelled really bad and the toilet kept running at all times. The bedspread had yellow stains all over it. Breezes breakfast was okay, our server was very nice and the only good service we received. The fire and ice bar is absolutely terrible. It’s the only place you can get a drink or food during the day but good luck because the bartenders take 35+ minutes to even acknowledge you and get way to stressed out when hardly busy. Went to dinner at HK’s, our server had 2 maybe 3 tables max, the restaurant was not busy and we didn’t get waters till after we had finished our appetizers. We also sat and watched our cocktails at the bar water down for 20 minutes which we received half way through dinner. Understandable if the restaurant was busy, but it wasn’t. Take in mind this is the only dining option for dinner. Everything was run down, which you can read from all the reviews before me. My fiancé who is under 200lbs sat in a lawn chair and it quite literally snapped right in half. I had low standards and didn’t expect a whole lot but definitely worse than I thought it was going to be sadly. I would look the other way before booking here.
We decided to get a room for a quick get-away on a Saturday. I placed the reservation online but then had questions about bringing my dog and if there was a place to park and/or launch a boat. I couldnt get anyone to answer the phone unless I chose the new reservations option. When they answered they transfered me to the front desk after barely speaking to me and they didnt answer again. So I called back again and finally someone was able to tell me that yes there was a place to park and launch a boat. If I wanted to bring my dog there would be an additional $70 charge and we would have to have a 1st floor room. Then a few days later I called to make an appointment for a massage in the spa and again, no one answered. I gave up and figured I would just ask when I got there. We checked in all went smoothly. We told them that we didnt end up bringing our dog but we were put in a 1st floor room anyway. For those wondering why this is a big deal we were at a lake. Our view was mostly the parking lot. So then we ask where can we park the boat and we are told about four parking lots up. I ask if there is a shuttle to get back down as I saw golf carts parked around the front. The front desk guy says sure, let me call security. He cant get them on the radio so tells us just to call and they will send someone. Given my track record of getting someone on the phone we decided to unhook the boat and drive back down, hoping the gravel lot was secure. We drove down to look at the boat launch and it was a very narrow road to get down to it and not much room to turn around. We ended up launching at Grand Glaize because it looked safer. I was honestly suprised they didnt have a better launch access given the reputation of the Four Seasons Resorts. While there we ate at Breezes for lunch and breakfast the next day. The food was good but service was a little slow. Our waitress never came back to see if we wanted anymore drinks etc after our food came except to bring us the check at lunch. Breakfast was a buffet and was good. We made dinner reservations at HK for our evening meal and it was lovely. I asked for a window table and the hostess graciously rearranged a table so we could do that. We had a great view of the Japanese garden and even got to see some fireworks off in the distance. Service was a little slow on drinks as I would have liked to order another one before finishing my meal, but our server was super nice and comped our dessert without me saying anything. I honestly wouldnt have even noticed service was slow if I hadnt finished my drink. In our room that night the bed was comfy, room was clean. We settled down to sleep, then about every 30 minutes when the air conditioner turned off the metal duct work would make a very loud popping noise that made it hard to sleep. Overall it was a nice experience but fell a tiny bit short of the reputation that I had always associated with the Lodge of the Four Seasons.
We really enjoyed our stay here. The building is so beautiful. Staff are very friendly and so helpful. I just wish they were to install handicap I just wish they would install handicap push plates at all of the double doors. Also there should be a way for someone in a wheelchair to get to the pool area easier. If you were in an electric wheelchair be aware that someone will have to lift your chair up the stairs while you are out of it.
Very nice place came for a conference but didnt stay at the hotel. Lobby is gorgeous and smells wonderful while the fire is going. Wonderful food that was catered by the hotel, very nice facility, comfy chairs, all rooms good temperature and I am usually hot most of the time.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ My husband and I spent 5 nights here with our small dog. This was our first trip here, but we would highly recommend it! We had the most incredible vacation! The staff was friendly and helpful, especially housekeeping. The views are amazing from about anywhere. The restaurants had great food and excellent service. The Cloverleaf Pool (main pool) is amazing but always buzzing with people, there are 2 other small pools if you want some quiet space which was totally amazing! The Rooftop Bar was the best to end the night with a sunset and a cocktail. If your ever at the Breeze’s restaurant, maybe you will get lucky to have our amazing waitress Emma! Only feedback we would have — PET STATIONS are a must need!! The Lodge of Four Seasons has been here over 55 years, yes, this resort is older, but it holds charm and character that one really has to appreciate and respect! As for my husband and myself, we will be returning for many years to come! Thank you Four Seasons!!
The photos online are much nicer than the actual hotel. The AC in my room did not work, the room was very old and outdated, the hotel had a dust smell, yet expensive. I was on the Second floor with a roof view of the HVAC systems. I was so uncomfortable in my room that I left early, though I paid a little over $500 for 2 days.
This is my first time here and I must say Im not impressed. If you plan to bring your dog.... dont. Your dog is pretty much not allowed to be anywhere but just your hotel room and some sitting areas in the hotel. The lake dont allow pets. Not only is the hotel over priced, the website states theyll charge $50.00 for pet deposit and yet in person its $70 something....so they really need to update their website. The hotel has only ONE working elevator. The ice maker only works on one floor. The refrigerator is outdated so dont expect for it to be cold at all upon arrival. You ask for a set of towels theyll bring a towel. The toilet seat is damaged/loose. The room next door to me are loud with a bunch of kids running around loose. They are loud. So, bring a headset or something for the sake of some sleep. Speaking of sleep ... you are not allowed in your hotel until 4pm... thats like... soo.... annoying. You basically paying a lot of cash to just sleep and not really hang out in the hotel.... what happened to hotels letting you in at like noon or 2pm?...is like they pushing you to come in as late as possible and kick you out by noon.... breakfast cost extra.... I dont think is worth it... find an all you can eat instead. The beds are uncomfortable and I mean ... uncomfortable... the GPS doesnt take you to the right location so that was annoying to find the building.... the balcony I got is facing the roof of another part of the building lol.... so the view of the lake is tad far. Not many outlets to plug your phone in....... so bring an a long cord! The tub... disappointed me it wasnt draining out properly...clugged up or something. Maintance here are a bunch of teenager looking young man who dont really seem to know what the heck they were doing when I told them about the refrigerator so that was disappointed. They could have at least swipe it out for one that is more updated and actually working.... Ill stop here but my point is.. it aint even worth it.
Service was great! Everyone was so friendly. We were able to check in while we were on the lake. We just called the front desk and Chris came down with a van to pick up our group! He was super friendly and the pick up was really nice. The grounds are very big. We stayed in a villa and that was perfect for our group! It was very spacious for us. Gabe, who is a gem, would come pick us up in the golf cart limo and take us where ever we wanted to go on the grounds. He was super friendly and had great customer service! We ate lunch and breakfast at the restaurant there and it was good. Tasty bucket drinks down at the pool bar. We loved staying at this resort! Thanks for a good time! 😁
Overall this was nice and relaxing. Absolutely love the pool by fire&ice. Beautiful scenery. Friendly staff. Just wished they offered a complimentary continental breakfast but since I knew what to expect, that was minor. Main reason for the lower rating is it took 3 trips to the lobby and four sets of room keys to get into room. Thanks to Jared Letos doppelganger working there, he got us in our room. I will be back... and not just to stare at Jordan Catalano 😉
The Lodge appearance is old and tired. Nice to see that they are working to make some improvements but there is a long way to go. Our bathroom had a hole in the wall by the tub. The room was clean except for someone’s old swimsuit on the shelf in the closet. The small table on our deck was broken also.
This hotel is not at all marketed accurately. The photos show clean, updated rooms and “luxury” style amenities. The opposite could not be more true. Our carpets looked like they haven’t been cleaned in months (I’m not exaggerating at all by this). Our one year old kept picking up dirt and crumbs off the floor, including a dead worm she found in the bathroom. The windows looked like they might not have ever been cleaned, smudges and stains all over them and the curtains. Throughout our stay we heard other patrons complain & express their shock. The reason I did give two stars is that overall the staff was friendly and the food wasn’t as horrible as it appeared (although the menus are extremely limited). There is so much potential in this place and we were really hoping to enjoy our time. We made the best of it, but I cannot recommend this place to anyone expecting a comfortable stay at a “luxury” resort.
Ill start with positive - the staff were incredibly helpful and kind individuals, especially Cara and maintenance - This whole property seems to have potential but a lack of care and devotion. The carpets are gross and distorted. I had dirty, wet towels in my room upon arrival. The iron was broken
The pools are great. Nice location. No fridge in your room, the key lost the signal on it. I HAVE TO WALK ALL THE WAY TO THE RECEPTIONIST 2 TIMES A DAY. They knew their keys are suck and no apology, jus give me another key. It s very annoying when you have a plan to do something else later.
We stayed in the spring, in the Japanese garden part of the hotel. We had amazing room of the gardens and the sun setting over the lake. Absolutely breathtaking. Sat outside our room watching the sunset. Very glad we chose this room, as our view was fantastic and it was so quiet! This is probably one of the quietest hotels Ive ever stayed at, and Ive stayed at hundreds. Now, it is off season and spring during the week, so that needs to be factored into this review.Rooms were clean, and loved that they had a vaulted ceiling that was higher. Get the better use of space. For the Japanese garden you enter through the Garden area. Rooms are a little bit older, but it has a great feel and theyre very clean. Everything in our room worked and was well maintained.A couple other things we really enjoyed. One, they have a small kids area where you can play Connect Four, ping pong, bowling, and golf. It was a really good distraction for an hour, and we had it to ourselves. The indoor pool area by the spa is available to guests, and the other two pools are closed during the off-season. It is a very warm nice pool, that does go indoor/outdoors. Was surprised how warm the water was. They do allow kids as long as they are accompanied by an adult and the noise level does have to be kept to a minimum since it is a spa like atmosphere. Very clean, and ample towels. Last, we took advantage of walking the gardens and down to the docks to take pictures. Very beautiful area. It was nice to see the lake and go down by the water. You cant reach the water to play on, but you can get close.Overall, very glad we had the opportunity to stay here. Would come back to this hotel again if we were in the area. It we need to see how active and busy it was during the summer.
This massive place could still be amazing. Unfortunately the entire establishment needs updating. The carpets in the hallways have trip-hazard bubbles, hallway ceiling tiles had water damage, the room we stayed in had a shower with cracks all over, the outside is similar. It just needs a massive makeover. On a positive note, the place is huge and fun to wonder around (inside & out).
Went there for work related meetings. It was a wonderful experience. The staff was excellent check-in went very smoothly. Rooms clean. And they had the indoor outdoor pool open spent at least an hour two different evenings in the pool with the grandkids had a wonderful time. Cant wait to go back and experience this again.
Grounds and main lobby were amazing. There were some maintenance and cleanliness issues. We only stayed one night so they didnt have a chance to correct anything. However, the Director of Rooms reached out after our stay and volunteered a partial refund as a gesture of goodwill which I appreciated.
Beautiful location on the lake, great views. Staff are friendly and incredibly accommodating. Building itself looks like it could use a remodel. The carpets were all worn out and half the numbers on our room door had fallen off. However the grounds were maintained really well and the onsite restaurants were quite nice.
The Seasons bay building is very outdated and not worth staying in for the money which was charged for the room. We stayed on the ground level and the indoor /outdoor carpet was all dirty looking and just kind of gross. The outside areas are all chipping paint and not nice. the carpet inside the room was old and appeared to be dirty. the toilet was loose on the floor which is not pleasant, especially for a midget size toilet. I did have plenty of hot water. The interior room is very dark. The worst part is that there were no working ice dispensers anywhere I could find. I did find a maintenance man who was very nice and even took his scooter up to the main lodge to get me some ice.I dont believe anyone could ever talk me into staying at this resort in the future! Sorry, but $231 dollars for a room of this quality is WAY overpriced. I would not stay there for $69. a night....room 2267
The view was amazing. That was basically it, though. The front desk person was a little rude, but I understand the stresses of hosting a conference, I wouldve been more understanding if she wasnt purposefully withholding information about our reservation to seemingly make it more difficult for us, it was a weird behavior Ive not witnessed before. Our room was rough. We came back with lice, it was dated by decades, the shower was broken, the ac was louder than the TV, and it smelled weird. I would pass on staying here until theres been some major improvements to the rooms as well as having them treated for bugs.
Hotel needs updates, never cleaned the room when we were there.
Game room removed, waterfall area locked and closed, TV didnt work, poor water pressure, hot tub closed, scheduled movie wasnt shown, instead some dumb super loud overbearing blurred Cloverfield thing. Such a sad disappointment.
Really good time great place to take just the wife and or family it a fun place.
Beautiful location and views for this resort. Easy access to town and restaurants, state park, and souvenir shops. Nice indoor pool and hot tub. Restaurants at resort too. Good breakfast was included with our stay. Fire pit in the evening is nice to sit outdoors and relax after dinner or golf. 2 things to be aware of: terrible wifi and a lot of things dont open for summer until May 12, which isnt advertised.
The room was clean and comfortable, very spacious and even the backside of the building still had a great view of the lake and gorgeous sunsets. The Wi-Fi sucks though.
The Lodge of the Four Seasons looks like it has definitely seen better days. The front facing parts of the resort are much better maintained than any other part of the resort. If you stray from the pool or the restaurants youll quickly see what parts of the landscape/ building they are not maintaining. Even the rooms could use some basic maintenance.
Had dinner at the HK Restaurant and was a bit disappointed. Even though they had reserved our table with a view which was a spectacular view, the window was spotted and had smudges which obscure the view somewhat. The food was good although very expensive and the service was so so. We had asked for some roles to be served with dinner and they hadnt arrived by the time we were finished so we told them to forget about it. Afterwards walking around the lodge property we were a bit stunned at how poorly it was being maintained. The carpets in several areas were very worn and looked as though they may have been decades old. It doesnt appear that the Lodge of the Four Seasons is keeping pace with other resorts in the area.
Robert the manager is amazing! A godsend! We originally had an issue with our room and he found a resolution quickly and efficiently and is such a kind soul! Great customer service. I can’t express my gratitude for how they handled it. He saved our vacation. Issues happen and not always avoidable but how it’s handled matters. The hotel is beautiful. I would recommend staying in the main lodge. Service is great, and they really do care about your experience. If you have issues let them know before your stay is over and they will assist you.
FALSE ADVERTISING that its a 4 star luxury hotel. It needs a thorough cleaning of cob webs, some water pressure, quieter air conditioning, replacement of hazey windows. And they need to do something about the bumps and lumps in the hall carpeting which is a trip hazard. Our Deluxe King Room had the smallest vanity area that looked like a teenager had painted around the mirror. Waste of money!!
We just stayed at the Four Seasons for a few days and really enjoyed our experience. The building is dated and seems like it just stepped outside of time...and thats exactly how we felt here - out of time...and it was perfect. Yes, they have kept some features dated, but the rooms (at least in the main lodge) have modern touches. We had a balcony with a lake view and watched the sunset together as a family every night. The staff at the coffee bar in the mornings are absolute gems of human beings.Everything was clean and the staff was generally friendly. Robert and the two late shift front desk team ladies were absolutely wonderful. We were there in the off season and had the pool to ourselves. One recent reviewer stated it was freezing...it wasnt. The pool was perfect for upper 70s weather. We will most certainly be back.
I booked a trip and mistakenly booked the wrong dates. When I got in the director of rooms got me hooked up and was able to move the dates for me to that night. He saved my weekend and I will definitely be back ... Ill skip the breakfast buffet though.
My partner and I went in early January due to the reasonable prices and wanting a little getaway from our home in KC, and while the room was absolutely amazing, not a single extra service, like the spa or pool or anything else, was open or available the entire two days. However! I can say Id like to return during the warm seasons and try again as Im sure it would be a much more satisfying experience. Even through all of that, I can definitely review the customer service as wonderful. Very professional.
My wife and I stayed here one night as part of a quick off-season getaway to do some hiking and see the area. The lodge has a comfortable feel and decor and I LOVED the real fire they had burning in the lobby. However, I wont come back to this resort again for the following reasons:- The Sleep.. The mattress on our bed was the hardest/firmest I can honestly remember sleeping on. Very uncomfortable.- The Food.. We had a promo for a free limited breakfast during our stay... After eating the breakfast I can see why they were giving it away. It was slow, mediocre, and cold upon arrival.
It all started when two years ago when emails and phone calls were NOT returned promptly. And when I say promptly, I mean we as the committee seeking a venue had to chase down the lady we were in contact with. Covid is not an expectable excuse to why emails and phone calls were not addressed promptly. We all knew this was a school yard sales tactic to keep us waiting until the last minute and pressure the sale. Shame on you!Recent stay for a small, 200 person, conference. Rooms were average and believe me I was inside more than one room this weekend as I checked conference goers complaining they could not book the rooms at price offered by The Lodge of Four Seasons. Please view contract and dont sell something you havent got available. Who ever approved final approved contract should be reprimand.Service was understaffed and overall crummy. Evening 16-20 person dinner parties for the conference invited presenters were served by one server who had the entire dinning room to take car of. Rachel our server was by far the most professional staff member at the venue. This young lady never flinched or grumbled, yet everyone knew she was a super star tending with poor management. Rachel and the big fella running the entire restraint saved The Lodge of Four Seasons reputation in my eyes. That and the lady who kept the fire stoked in the lobby.Like many venues at the lake during off season they do not think ahead to pull staff over from other areas to deal with off season conferences business. This is a professional error directly responsible to upper management (Service director) who overlooks all contracts. I also noticed this venue did not take care of gathering halls/rooms over night as many venues would do. Myself and another conference member meet each morning at 730AM to walk through gathering halls/rooms to pick up papers, cups and any other small debris before conference goers arrived. Again, who ever over looks and final approves contracts ought to think about going back to a service position and get an idea on how to run a resort correctly, invitingly and staffed properly.Location wise? I am sorry to say location and venue name sold our stay at the Lodge of Four Seasons.
My fiancé and I are returning to Missouri this summer to get married. I am a US Marine (from Central Missouri) and bragged to my fiancé about how wonderful the lake of the Ozarks are and how it would be a good location to stay for wedding planning. We decided to stay at the LO4S to scout venues for rehearsal dinner and wedding reception. We were less than impressed upon our arrival at the Lodge. First, ADA accommodations are severely lacking. My fiancé’s mother is disabled and it was like navigating through a maze of stairs and steep ramps to get to our rooms. The exterior of the building (main lodge) is old and rustic, but there is a TON of wood rot. The facility has many windows to enable visitors to take in the spectacular view of the lake. Unfortunately, the majority of the windows were dirty and don’t look like they have been cleaned in a good year. There were visible hand and finger prints on all of the exterior doors. The main doors to the lodge are not automatic and makes it difficult to bring luggage carts through the doors; especially since there are no staff members to help. I understand that we stayed during the off-season, but I rarely saw a staff member other than when I passed through the main lobby. We were planning on staying 3 nights, but the accommodations were so intolerable, we ended our stay on night 2 and immediately checked out the next day. We also decided not to select this venue for any of our wedding events. We stayed in their most “premium rooms” and paid a premium price for less than premium accommodations. The rooms had worn out carpet. The doors to enter the rooms were not working properly. The room appeared to be clean on the surface but closer examination revealed that the beds and the main dresser have not been pulled away from the walls for years and have an abundance of dust an dirt built up behind them. The chair at the desk had visible popcorn remnants from a previous traveler. The bathroom is laughable with a tiny closet sized area for a toilet and shower. The toilet barely flushed causing the user to worry about whether or not their waste would actually flush. To flush the toilet, you have to bend over the toilet and hold the flush button in the entire time (I really don’t enjoy a wastewater facial). The shower is tiny and step in and they provide a tiny little closet. This is definitely not what I expected for $209/night. The fitness center was also a massive disappointment. It was also dirty and outdated. As a native Missourian, I was embarrassed that I talked this place up to my fiancé and future mother-in-law. The LO4S needs to reinvest in their property if they are going to continue charging these types of prices. They do have a beautiful location. We looked at Camden on the Lake and 1932 Reserve. I really wish we would have stayed there now. The LO4S should consider updating their rooms to look like 1932 reserve.
The lodge is beautiful, it is very confusi to figure out, the hotel main staff is amazing! The spa staff is stuck up! Over priced! If you attend the spa please note call ahead of your stay to make sure you have an appointment, no gel nail polish they do not have the chemicals to remove, tip is included in your check out! The pools here are awesome! I loved the indoor outdoor, it also has a hot tub there as well! Fire and ice has great drinks , the pretzel bites and mushrooms are mouthwatering! Breeze makes the best fry’s and Italian rye, order the Bloody Mary it has bacon an pickles in it! HKs I was very disappointed! The onion rings lacked flavor, the burger was absolutely disgusting Their house sauce is over powered by ketchup! The jazz here is a must though! So I recommend just ordering a soda it comes faster then the beer! The roof top bar is awesome!!!! They make the best margarita! The little store is nice! They have gummie alcohol shots which is awesome! Their are so many awesome views! You can rent a boat here! It is absolutely no smoking on the balcony’s for any smokers coming! The Japanese Garden is breathtaking! The bathrooms are very outdated, as well as the carpet in the hallways! It could definitely use some interior improvements, the vending machine is drinks only! So bring snacks or buy at store before they close at 7pm! They do have a movie theater that shows two movies a night
The hotel was unable to find my reservation. Luckily they had a room available but it only had one bed and a “sleeper sofa”, according to staff. We get to the room, there’s no sofa. So we had to get a roll away bed brought up.I was irritated but thought, it’s ok, things happen. Then that night, We got in late and had multiple girls needing to shower. There was no hot water….literally none. Not even for one shower. When telling the manger or front desk supervisor she apologized but then proceeded to tell me she didn’t see my 1st reservation. And it should have been there. This frustrated me even more. She then proceeds to tell me that I should have called for the water if it wasn’t hot and that she will take the spa fee off my bill….That’s $15 dollars off.So I paid $160 for a room that didn’t have enough sleeping space ( like I reserved) and for no hot water. I’m just baffled. We will but be back
Beautiful location. The primary building/lodge is gorgeous though some of the rooms I was in seemed a little dated. When you check in verify what building you are in. They have multiple buildings to accommodate massive crowds. I wound up in thr Avilas building that had no hot water, bathtubs that spat black flakes from the jets, and cracking/hollowed out floor tile that had grout chipping. I did not interact with the marina/lake aspect so I cant comment there.
Our first experience at the Lodge. First off, ALL staff we spoke to were very friendly and seemed truly proud of the place. The lodge is like a grand lady, still charming but in need of a some attention. Clean but a also bit dated. We enjoyed the bars and the pool. The grounds are well kept and beautiful.
Staff was wonderful, and the beds were comfy. Unfortunately, the place is pretty outdated, needs some obvious electrical work, and the food at the restaurant was less than average.
We spent two nights here and I was glad to leave. It wasn’t the worst place I’ve stayed, but wasn’t the best and I am sure I won’t be back.It was dirty. Some disrepair. Spider webs, cob webs and bugs. The mattress was full size-NOT a queen. Which makes a difference with two grown adults in the bed. The most uncomfortable mattress I have ever slept on. One side of the closet did not open. I am sure I won’t be back.
This is not a 4 star hotel, 2 star at best. Rooms are run down and in need of renovation. Hallways, rooms, and elevators smell musty. Elevator is barely operational. Walls are thin, you can hear every conversation your neighbor is having. Front desk staff was not welcoming. Could be restored to its former glory, but it has a long way to go.Only upside was the spa. Nice facilities, nice staff.
The check in person was Wonderful, very funny and polite.Housekeeping could use a bit more training, such as...Look and clean behind night stands, look for cob webs in the corners and in the bathroom. Also the balcony was full of spider webs and dirt.Housekeeping keeping never came in to freshen our room at all.Maintenance needs to do some repairs on items outside, it is to beautiful to let things go.We loved our vacation, and would gladly come back. Our view was beautiful.
It is a nice older hotel. There are no exhaust fans in the bathrooms and when you step into the slow draining low pressure shower it most definately is not level. There are no microwaves in the room and no continental breakfast provided. For the price per night there should be. Parking is very poor.
If you stay in Seasons Bay, be prepared to feel like you are on the bottom deck of the Titanic. Its like being at a camp ground cabin. You can stay other places at the lake for less and have a better experience. The staff will treat you like lesser people, and the front desk is not at all helpful. Also, they dont tell you that they offer golf cart rides. The rooms are incredibly small. The ac leaks all over the carpet and cant hold the temperature. There is no fridge or microwave and the beds are terrible and small - not made for two people in them. Our door wouldnt shut all the way correctly. Need bug lights outside of the rooms. There is nasty carpet outside of the rooms on what should be a deck like walkway. Place is 100% not handicap accessible. There is no DJ for the pool and though they wont tell you this, you cant bring a cooler to the pool. Not a great experience. Thank goodness I love the people I came with and we can make a good time out of anything.
Our first night here was rather rocky and disappointing. A room change and an upgrade later, I found myself wondering if it was really worth the money, and it wasnt. Heres why: the main lodge is old, a bit outdated, and poorly designed. Let me describe: the 4th floor, where our initial room was, smelled stuffy and moldy as soon as we stepped off the elevator. The balcony in the room was covered with cobwebs and looked out to the rooftop bar, zero privacy. So we upgraded to a presidential suite which looked like the inside of a conference room with two awkwad living spaces right next to each other and a large table that was neither a dinner table nor fit for a conference meeting. But, the room had a hot tub, so we were sold, only to find out later that night that it doesnt work. I cant speak for the Japanese garden rooms, or whatever its called, but Id highly recommend not staying in the main lodge.Thankfully, Katie, the manager, is a phenomenal, patient, and attentive hotelier. She moved us to the Avila lodge, a new addition to the lodge, where we found ourselves in a cozy little apartment with a fully equipped kitchenette, a dining and living space, a cozy bedroom, a beautiful bathroom with a walk-in shower and a large bath with turbo jets(?, I think), and a cozy little balcony. Everything there was new, did not smell like old carpet, functioned as it was supposed to, and was worth the money.I do have to note, a plus was the kitchen for we were not impressed with the breakfast buffet at Breezes, so we made our own for the rest of the stay. Overall, Id rate this a 5 if it wasnt for the hassle of the first night. Thankfully, the manager was able to rectify the stay and we had a wonderful time. The staff is truly friendly and attentive, nice job.
Beds are smaller than advertised. Very outdated. If your handicap, don’t expect safety bars or getting a handicap room. Was a waste of $ on a subpar motel. Can’t put that it was a resort because it was so below standards. Only good thing about this resort is the location.
I will start off by saying that I dont think I have dealt with staff as pleasant as this since Club Med. The lovely woman that checked me in turned my travel weary frown upside down. Others where as helpful and cheerful as well. Fantastic veiws of the lake ...and sunset on it.However, room-to-vehicle access is quite awkward (you basically have to walk in the street, there are no walkways, even though there is green space one could be made), the toilet in the room barely flushed and the seat needed tighten. The walls/door of our room were exceptionally thin; I could her the entirety of our neighbors phone conversation while taking care my business at our sink. And she didnt seem to be speaking very loudly. This was of course super great when the next night new guests decided they were they only people on the planet to care about and made the room a bar along a bar hopping tour....complete with people up and down the halls slamming doors and leaving doors open so the pot and cigarette smoke was leaking into our room. Seriously sounded like there were at least a dozen people...it was louder than being the the bathroom of a bar only slighty less loud than being in the middle of a bar.By a bit after 11 I dealt with them harshly, to success, on my own, without involving staff, for the sake of my partner who had survived groomsman wedding duties for the weekend but was finally succumbing to a full head cold. Being well-traveled I know most hotel walls are a laugh...but this room seemed to me might have just been painted cardboard.
Very pretty place. Our sheets had some stains but they replaced them quickly. The shower in the room is pretty sub par. The garden area is gorgeous and a neat place to hang out. The heated indoor pool and large hot tub is nice. I would stay here again, although in my opinion $200 a night is a bit steep in the off season for the size room you get. It is nice though.
Old, dirty, outdated, overpriced 90% of the time. This hotel has made billions of dollars and the greed of the owner has prevented any updates and renovations of this property. In coming years this thing will need to be sold to someone who will invest money into it. Comparable to Inn at Grand Glaize.. Stayed at the start of the season and good God was this place dirty. Cant get a good lake view bc of all the nasty spiders and debris on all the windows. Havent been cleaned in years! IF YOURE TOO LAZY TO CLEAN THE WINDOWS, HIRE A WINDOW WASHING CREW! COME ON PPL YOUVE HAD ALL WINTER! If youre bringing a boat forget it. Theres no docks bc the greedy owners rent the docks to boat rental companies that forbid guest use. For the $10k they rent the docks for, they could accommodate guests instead. The first person that answers the phone at a hotel should know everything. Pricing parking availability accommodation at the facilities, no one at the front desk knew anyting about anything. Carpet in halls is wrinkled and folded up so watch your step! These rooms should never be more than $250 on the biggest holidays. HKs restaurant bartenders are rude and will ignore you. Theres A LOT nicer places to stay on the lake. Youll be disappointed when you overpay. Flowers have been removed from the gardens and replaced with shrubs that dont need maintenance. Pools are pretty cool but thats about it. 2/5.
The Lodge is definitely iconic. Rather large property. My room was not a horror story but it was not a luxury stay. I enjoyed the view from the balcony. I did not like the bandaid stuck to the concrete. The beds were full size which apparently was a concern for my travel companions. The plumbing system was noisy and every flush was a hold your breath moment as to if the bowl contents would go. Random gurgling in the drains at night while you slept. They did have nicer lamps with plugs and a clock with UBS charger ports. They did not have refrigerators or microwaves in the rooms on our wing.Ice machines are in a small room which seems a million miles away from your room and they are in the open. Which means when I went for ice there were sometimes spiders having built a web across the area you needed to place your bucket.I stayed 3 nights. They made my bed each day. But after the first night nothing was replaced as far as toiletry items. Or coffee pods. Also never replaced toilet paper. Never. 2nd day they did replace toiletry items but they were simply tossed onto the counter. Even though they had a fancy pouch for them to be placed. Not a deal for me. But did make me feel like there might be some attitude with the housekeeping staff. Used towels were hit and miss as to being exchanged.Check in was great and the woman who helped me explained everything in detail. The supervisor over the front desk was not as nice and came up behind the 5 or 6 clerks and was very forceful if not outright rude about the fact that they needed to read their screens and not mess things up. Presumed this was in regards to several people checking in who were prepaid through their companies and that a separate card was needed for incidentals. But it was his tone and the fact that this was said in.front of guests who were checking in that took my impression to a negative one. The clerk assisting me seemed to shrink as he was speaking. A world class resort should treat their staff world class. We ate at the breakfast buffet and also had lunch there. Both times were enjoyable wait staff was awesome and the food was great. So shout out to Breezes
The staff were all very, very nice but the location truthfully has a lot of potential with updated repairs. For the cost, you would expect a bit more. The bathroom in the room was rundown (doorknob falling off, overall grungey feel), their was vomit of some kind in an entryway, lots of the amenities were still closed (which I totally understand, but maybe the cost of stay should reflect that?), the waterfall was beautiful but had stagnant water, the carpets needed cleaned. The view is wonderful. I am eager to hear about maybe future plans for renovations and updates!
I loved the bedroom. It was nice and updatedThe bathroom was definately outdated.Unfortunately the indoor pools were closed! The outdoor pool is heated to 85, but imagine getting out of an 85 degree pool in 30 degree weather Ina swimsuit and towel.....uh nope. I picked this hotel for the pools 😞The Japanese garden was beautiful 😍Staff was amazingly helpfulNo Bed bugs!!
After reading reviews I was a little nervous to stay, but decided to go for it anyway. Checking in was a little slow, so if you can hold off try 5 or 6pm when the rush is gone. The room was slightly outdated, but nothing like what some of the other reviews said. They were definitely clean and the bed was comfortable. All of the employees were super nice and helpful. I was on a solo trip, so it was nice feeling at home. The views from the clover pool and lounge area are amazing! There is a lot to do on the resort, but there is also some wonderful restaurants very close by. Try Baxters down the road for dinner and a sunset view. I will definitely be coming back!
We stayed in Seasons Bay. The room was very small, outdated, and dirty. It didn’t have a working phone to call anywhere on the property. It had broken blinds and rips in the dirty carpet. For the outrageous price, you expect much more. We tried to switch rooms and were told we would be charged more. I would stay away from this property. You’re much better off finding more reasonable, nicer, cleaner accommodations elsewhere. We took a trip recently to a resort in Branson, paid in total what we paid for one night here and had significantly larger, nicer accommodations. We will never return to the Lodge of the Four Seasons.
The rooms are not as pictured. We had booked a king suit 5 months in advance. When we arrived they only had a room with two double beds available. We walk into the room, and there was dead bugs all over both beds. The beds didnt look like they were cleaned prior to us arriving. There was someone else’s hair all over the beds and stains. There was bugs crawling all over the walls. The bathroom also had not been cleaned. We contacted the front desk and waited over an hour for security to come look at the room. Finally we went to the front desk after no one came, and got our room switched. If there was any other hotel available we would have stayed somewhere else. The only reason I am giving it 2 stars is because the food at the hotel was amazing and the spa area was fabulous.
Checked into room and discovered toilet wouldnt flush. Opened the lid and saw chain was off. Called for maintenance which arrived promptly and fixed the chain. Went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and discovered toilet still wasnt flushing even with chain fixed. Maintenance came in the morning and had to snake toilet to get it flushing. Had my sister with me and when she let out the sofa sleeper and took the bed clothes out of the bag, we discovered they were not clean.
Our room was really dirty upon arrival. We didn’t make a fuss about it at first. We ended up having to leave a day early due to having allergic reactions to bug bites from our linens. Carpets were filthy. The other guests were up and outside until 3:30 AM drunk and disorderly and the staff did nothing to stop it.
The main lodge is absolutely beautiful, you can tell they put the time and money to make it look nice. But if you book a room to stay at the seasons bay building you can see it’s not the same case. The rooms outdated, some of the blinds were broken and had yellow film, room had a basement kind of smell to it. I was very disappointed but the room did have a nice view of the lake. The bathroom needed a good clean and new tub. When you stand in it, it sinks you feel like your going to fall through. A helpful hint is If you turn the faucet to hot you’ll get cold and cold actually puts out hot. That was not so pleasant to find out. And the shower does not drain well, so you just stand in a half a foot of water. Ice machine was broken on our floor. Also big bummer there’s no fridge, the sink is in the bedroom area thought it was a little odd. Was not a fan of the placement of things, no matter where you stood in the room once the door was open you can see the whole room. I prefer the bed being tucked around a wall, so there’s a little more privacy. Everything else was very beautiful I just wish they put more effort into the these rooms.
For a much needed getaway it was extremely disappointing. Poor and limited parking, completely outdated interior, poor security, non working frozen drink machines at pool area, and had to call housecleaning twice to get extra anything. This may have been a hot spot 30 years ago but outrageous prices for sub par room and lacking amenities.
Our hotel room was outdated, the shower barely worked (couldn’t control water temp at all), the bed was so uncomfortable that I had neck/back pain during the whole trip, and the key card for our room was so finicky that it was a challenge to open the door every day. Hotel staff were all extremely nice though and the amenities outside of the hotel room were phenomenal. However, the room itself was so disappointing that it ruined the quality of our vacation in the Ozarks.
Decided to just get away for the weekend and enjoy some peace and a different atmosphere . When you first walk in you’ll notice the amazing fire place and surrounding area. When we checked in we were told how everything was updated in the last few years and how our suite would have a nice relaxing tub to enjoy. What they failed to mention is the tub paint was cracking! It was not very appealing and I barely wanted to shower in it let alone take a bath. My bed also didnt have a fitted sheet but a flat sheet tucked in around the bed. So it would never stay on properly. They also had buckets all over the place because it was raining and leaking. It’s very run down once you get past the front entrance and needs some major love throughout the rest of the hotel and not just a band aid. This also wasnt a cheap place to stay. We definitely feel like we over paid. Everyone we encountered that worked here was nice, but sadly that doesn’t make up for the rooms.
We came to Four seasons at Ozark Lake for an overnight stay. At first glance, it is beautiful. The lobby, the area around the hotel - all are very well maintained. We loved the view from our room as well. The amenities were okay, not great (the bathroom was average). We had a long road trip ahead of us the next day and really wanted to be well rested. But the walls are paper thin! We could not get any rest as the people next door were too loud (or the voice carried through the thin walls as well as beds adjacent to the same wall). This was a terrible experience, we endured all the way till 2 am when we finally had to give a call to the front desk. The issue was resolved a little later. Our stay was not comfortable and we would certainly not recommend this hotel for stay.
Mike at the rooftop bar is the best and most professional bartender! My boyfriend and I became friends with him on our weekend vacation. The hotel staff is also nice and we had a great trip.
Definitely not worth the price. Our first room had two tiny twin beds, very outdated, and the porch was rusted and covered in bird poop. There was no mini fridge even though we were paying about 200$ a night. We asked if we could get a room with a mini fridge and they gave us a room in the main hotel. The hotel rooms are VERY outdated, our room and shower were straight from the 70s. There was spoiled milk in the mini fridge and someone has very clearly used the toilet and didn’t clean it when we got to our room. We were so nervous sleeping in the bed with how dirty everything else was. There was a small balcony which was nice but the table on our balcony was completely broken, you couldn’t even set your glass on it.The property and pool area is very outdated and they turned a few abandoned tennis courts into parking lots which gave it a very neglected and kind of creepy vibe. All in all it was definitely not worth the price tag, and the pictures they use on websites for the room are from their brand new section and not the rooms you actually stay in which was another disappointment. Would not stay again
Problem 1...went there for the fourth of july took our brand new jeep got there with 218 miles on it one of there workers rammed into the bumper and they refuse to pay to fix it. problem ..2the breakfest vouchers we recieved where not any good because they was not doing menu orders due to the holidaynever explained to us.problem ..3 during the fourth of july fireworks they let the the whole city park there for them so there was no parking for customershence why we had tp park where we did get our vehicle damaged. was my first and my last visit there very disappointed in the service and staff trying to repair my vehiclethe place is old and run down but nice obiance.
Rooms, stairways, elevator doors are all outdated! I’m sorry, but at $250 a night, I expect better! We stayed 3 nights and on night one wanted to run away and go somewhere else. The marina there is even a worse deal! No other business requires you to send an email request to find out prices. And they do that because they charge 3x what other marinas charge. So we took our business elsewhere and were completely satisfied with our choice! The room we were in didn’t have one single towel bar to hang a towel. Yet, they have a sign to hang towels if you will use again or drop on floor if you want them replaced. How does one do that with boy one single towel bar? Only had one trash can, which was by the toilet! It filled up quick since it was all in one tiny trash can. I asked the housekeeping staff if that was normal, he said a lot of rooms only have one trash can. The bathtub is definitely from 1990’s off white brown color!Gave the restaurant The Breeze a shot. They were doing buffet only. No big deal until the potatoes were cold, what they put out as “French toast” was actually cinnamon swirl bread not even dipped enough to be considered French toast! Ended up paying $15 for a box of cereal and coffee! Our server was very nice though! Front desk staff was friendly! I just didn’t care for the room, marina, or restaurant! Finally, the hotel sent me an email asking me to take their survey. I gladly filled it out. Must not have given them a good enough rating because the survey would not take with my answers! That had to be the icing on the cake!
Mrs. Lennie K. and Carly made our stay feel so personalized. They took such good care of us and actually took time to get to know us and pamper to our needs. Havent experienced guest service like this in many years at a Resort. This was a very special time and treated extremely well. Very impressed with these two and their crew!
The people here are incredible. However just like everywhere else they are understaffed and it shows. This is a fantastic facility but its run down and in need of updates and maintenance. Smoking is a problem- people are allowed to smoke anywhere- including right outside our room. For the price I feel like these things should be improved. The walls are paper thin and you can hear everything- our neighbors didnt seem to care about that- up until long past 1 and up early too. :(Overall- we enjoyed our time here but there is room for improvements. ❤
My wife and I stayed here 3 yrs ago and loved the property. The resort was was a lot cleaner. There were spilled drinks on sidewalks for days that did not get cleaned up while we were there. Toilet in room leaked on floor the entire time. We loved the place before but left a lot to be desired this trip. Had to ask for fire pit by Fire & Ice bar to be lit every night, we kept being told that it had to be dark to light, but the fire pit in the pool was lit by 7 every night, we waited till 9 and still had to request it lit. The pool could have been maintained a lot better as well as the flies and bees around the bar and firepit. The staff were very friendly and the overall property is beautiful. We especially were ecstatic that we did not have to west mask. That in itself is worth a star!
If youre from out of town, this is the place to stay!Killer service, great atmosphere, and the location was a good distance to all restaurants.Played some golf, little overpriced for the quality of the course (the ridge). Pretty course though!
This was our second time back and we stayed a week this time. There were 5 of us and we got a suite in the Avila section of the resort. They have shuttle service to pick you up and bring you to the main lodge. The suites are perfect for a family, they have connecting rooms, huge kitchen and two huge bathrooms, one was wheelchair accessible and the other had a huge shower and tub. Nice living area and two balconies. We rented a pontoon boat as well at their marina. The Fire and Ice bar was fun, kid friendly and the drinks, food and service were phenomenal! The HK restaurant was fabulous as was breezes! Great location and close to everything around! We will definitely be back again. Do yourself a favor and book over 4th of July, hands down the best fireworks Ive ever seen, over 20 minutes and to music! We also rented pool cabanas!
Customer service severely lacking with front desk and some on maintenance staff. Lifting a finger to help meet a need was just too much effort. Expensive hotel for outdated rooms and poor customer service. Could be a great place if they could serve the customers needs. I hear the ‘newer’ resort in town has excellent service.
We have been attending workshops here for 20 years. We are always placed in extremely outdated and dirty/smelly rooms. Upon arriving we noticed that both beds had linens that had not been changed after the last guests! Both beds were filthy with stains and TONS of hairs on the sheets and pillows…There was even makeup/mascara on the pillow cases on both beds. The carpet looked like it hadn’t been vacuumed in quite some time. We asked for fresh linens. The linens we were given to change out the gross ones had blood stains on them.
We reserved a king mini suite for 2 adults, 2 kids. It was described as having a pull out couch. It didnt even have a couch, just a small chair. They did bring in a roll away but it was only big enough for one child. The hotel was booked so no other rooms were available.
This resort is NOT as advertised! The room photos look nothing like the rooms. Dated and filthy. How anyone can give this place even one star is beyond me. Wish I would have read more reviews before we booked. No way can this be marketed as Luxury 😂. What a joke. My guess is it’s headed to foreclosure. Deterred maintenance many amenities not as represented no room service wish we stayed somewhere else! The windows are filthy cobwebs everywhere weeds everywhere I could go on and on. Don’t bother stay somewhere else. So disappointed 😞
The amenities are beautiful and taken care of, we loved having few different pools and restaurants on the site. Staff is nice and friendly. We were checked in within few minutes. But the room we stayed in was extremely disappointing! The beds are almost a twin size, and not even a queen, very small. We stayed in a family room and it was very outdated, especially the bathroom. No fridge in the room-deal breaker. We usually stay at Margaritaville , and wanted to try this resort out, but don’t think we would stay here again.
We will never stay at the Lodge of Four Seasons again, especially in the Seasons Bay building, which is described as a comfy, private location with lake/pool views just next to the main lodge. There wasn’t anything cozy about this out dated, disgusting room we stayed in. Carpet outside leading to the room was soaked and stained in front of our door, so about slipped and fell on the tile with wet flip flops when entering the room. Dead bugs in the bathroom. Mold on the tub/shower. Horrible water pressure and constant change in water temperature when showering. You had to be prepared to dodge scorching hot water and then freezing cold water every 15-30 seconds. It didn’t matter where we had the knob turned. Also in the ad it says Seasons Bay has a private pool for building guests only, too bad for some reason the pool gates were locked when we were there. Other pools were open. Also would’ve been nice to be told at check in that the card reader on the back door in the room that led to the patio didn’t work at all, so we ended up getting locked out because we had the latch locking the front door when we walked out the back door. Had to walk up to the front desk and explain the situation and instead of receiving an apology for our inconvenience while on vacation, she gave us a smirk as if we were stupid and this caused her an inconvenience to have to call maintenance to meet us at our room. When he finally arrived, he didn’t have the correct tool, because she didn’t explain to him what I specifically told her, he thought we just left our key card in the room. Not the case, I showed her our key card at the front desk, so we had to wait yet again for him to go back and get the tool needed to finally get us back in our room. As if all that wasn’t enough, we couldn’t get on the Wifi I was told about at check in at all. Definitely not worth almost $200 for one night stay here.
Always a great time. Front desk is polite and helpful. Bartenders did amazing in the lobby bar. Room was nice and spacious. It said balcony view in the room description no balcony but a huge window to see out with great views. Spa was the best we have ever encountered.
I could have easily given 5 stars but we had a water issue in our room and so I cant. The staff was excellent from Chris and Case at the front desk to Logan and Cassidy at the pool side bar.The rooms down the hill which are the lesser expensive are dated in first appears but they have been refreshed and since we didnt come here to be in a room they were clean and all we needed. The food and drink was very fairly priced as well.I 💯 would stay here the next time we came through town.
This was told to us to be a luxury room. The carpet in room look dirty, furniture was old looking. Bedding was not soft and fluffy like you would except it you paid a total of $292.00 a night. Towels were rough. The elevator did not work my mom was 84 years old and had to walk up the steps. Only good thing I can say is the view of the lake was nice.
We saw a few bad reviews and were nervous to stay here. Ended up liking the place a lot. We stayed in a pet friendly room and thought it was pretty decent. The restaurants and bars werent open very much which sucked but covid is a B. Pools and hot tub were nice. Would stay here again for sure. Dont listen to the bad reviews, those people must be pretty snobby because its a nice place!
The dirtiest...old...unkept...no fridg..lumpy bed & pillows...ceiling tiles broken...moldy tub/shower...just plain filthy!! 2 neighbors said the same. Never again!! I know it was last minute & for the fact that it was almost dark I would have never stayed...oh..I was told no cancelation refund...
Its a older property and outside needs wood beams and garden bridge beam replaced. Inside however is clean and fresh! Bed was the most comfortable bed EVER!!!!;) we were in 5106 and it had vaulted ceilings and was so clean and smelled great. We had a porch with chairs to sit outside on. The have a couple fire pits, a massive one by our room and we enjoyed chocolate cake by it till 1130pm. The breakfast was amazing at breezes in the am and the waitress were so kind! The front desk dude, ( tall , blond hair and glasses) helped us with late check out and was so sweet! Also the asst. Front desk manager was a great man and very helpful!!! Beautiful lake views!!!! We will return!
Its an aging hotel. They are renovating. I loved it. It has character! When I checked in the front desk young man was professional and friendly. The lobby was beautiful and inviting. My room was really very nice I loved the colors and ammenities. It did take a little while for the water to get hot in the shower but once it did I had a long hot shower. I had a spectacular view of the lake from my balcony and still felt I had my privacy. I plan on many more stays here and look forward to making this hotel my get away for relaxation.
It was just ok. Not impressed. Old hotel with many issues on plumbing and air quality. We both ended up with sore throats and allergies. We were put in anaccessible room without requesting one and the room manager said we had been upgraded. That was not true. We requested a move. Not impressed at all.
Most of hotel is quite beautiful. The rooms are updated but certain features are dated. The door on our bathroom was painted and the veneer was chipping away as the door was running on the frame. The baseboards were not dusted behind the bedside table. The bathroom walls look like they need to be cleaned or touched up with paint.Staff is welcoming, the breakfast was great. The pool area is nice.We would love to come again when its warmer but the price is hard to swallow.
The hotel and surrounding property are just beautiful, but the rooms, service and price not that great. The room seemed old, bathroom wall had cracks in it and it was a little cramp. We checked in after a long drive but was offered no help and not even carts to help get our luggage to our room. If you want a place right on the lake and will not be spending much time in your room but to sleep, might be right for you if you can afford it.
If you’re considering your “getaway here , first and foremost consider this do you have tattoos ? Do you have a child who is autistic ? Well imagine being a grown man with both and your job tells you “they don’t like you cause of how you look , they don’t like your hair they don’t like your tattoos etc well that’s exactly what happen to my relative today . I will never spend a dime in this place again , I will make it a point to make sure everyone knows how sad and disgusting this place is for discriminating against my relative based on how he looked. I hope the lady who treated him the way she did realizes what a sad person she is for treating someone like that . It’s not 1930s anymore ppl are unique that look different they have tattoos get over it . So again think befour coming here and getting judged.
