Club Tempo

While not my usual cup of tea, I was here yesterday evening to meet up with members from a suit and tie Facebook mens group. As I arrived a little after 8 pm on a Saturday night, there was no cover charge but was told later by someone that they paid $10 cash to enter. The entire establishment is cash only but there is an ATM machine on each floor. There are also multiple restrooms on both floors as well. Unlike other reviewers, I found the bathrooms to be clean but this was just after they opened. The stairway to the second floor does not open until 9 pm and the upstairs patio taco place a little after that. This second floor patio has plenty of seating but on a chilly February evening there were no heat lamps present. There were, though, ash trays on the tables so I assume smoking was permitted. The little patio tacos that the nice older lady sells are $2 each; I enjoyed four of them - yum! :-) I cannot speak to the quality of their spirits as I didnt purchase any. What staff and patrons I encountered here were pleasant including the bouncer at the door and the security guard who patted me down at the entrance to check for weapons. There is a coat check station that is $3 to utilize. There are dance floors and and bar tenders on each level playing different music so if you dont like one, go check out the other. The second floor is larger and more modern with more seating but if you encounter long restroom lines, try the downstairs with less wait. This gay clubs clientele are Spanish speaking cowboys. By the time I departed at 11 pm, it was crowded everywhere. I probably wont return here but only because its not to my personal tastes for I dont frequent loud dance clubs nor imbibe alcohol . I have no complaints about my experience here but if you want to hold a conversation, your least noisy option is the patio furthest from the exits or the parking lot. This business appears to be doing a good job at serving its intended clientele. Hope this is helpful.

This place is the cutest. Great music, there’s a live music band playing ranchero songs with all the cowboys dancing downstairs, plus two other dance floors. Upstairs there’s a big outdoor area with tacos and stuff and a lil bar and another dance floor and amazing drag performances as well. Anyway. Just good things about this place. You can also get a 3/4 beer for 12 bucks.

Hello!!! I would like to express my position about this Tempo club. I have been visiting this club for 2 years, I really like the atmosphere of all employees who work tempo, including security in general, great respect!!! And of course I would like to listen to new good tracks... I wish you a good mood and positive 🤞

Every thing is wrong at Tempo. I remember when Tempo was #1at everything especially the Music 🎶. Now it just a joke and no one has the knowledge of music 💔 🎶 I wish Tempo can react before is too late and become just a lost . Memory in time.Please 🙏 change the sound of music on tip on Sunday from 3pm an8pm and if you can change DJ after the mariachi.Thank youLong time guest since Tempo was open....

I had to reviewBecause last Saturday I was at this place with friends we were in the dance floor in the lower level where the Dj jp or something was really drunk stopping the music and messing around

Spent an hour just to find parking + we had to pay a $17 cover per person 🙃

The bathroom was covered in urine and they don’t even have a hand sanitation station there. I read the reviews and thought, it couldn’t be this bad, but oh my, do not use the restroom here. Also, the door doesn’t even close. Walked in on a dude peeing and even was able to see him after the door “closed”. Please fix this.Other than that, drink was good?They have an outside area that seems more relaxed and nicer to hang out. Chips are available!

I came to this place last night (Saturday June 10, 2023), I had a gogo friend tell me to come visit him here cus he was dancing last night and during his breaks we just chill and talk. I had explained to him that I dont come to this place. Its just not my scene....I live near the West Hollywood area and I normally stick to Roccos, The Chapel, Heart and Trunks because they play more diverse music not just Mexican banda or Latin Mexican music. However I tried giving it a chance tonight and off the bat be AWARE! The 15$ charge is not worth it, this place needs a change in show coordination! The shows go on for too long...less of the same old drag queens and more alternative music. I didnt even see my friend because the drag queen show went on for a long time and I even asked a bartender who was attending the people behind the scenes if he could alert my friend I was outside their dressing room, the bartender couldnt even communicate well cus he was drunk a security guard inside the club while working was also drunk smh This is why i dont go here its very disorganized and definitely not a 15$ charge club.

My first time here coming to tempo i love it, especially since a vaquero me agarro y bailo conmigo while buzzed, i love this place ☺️

I spent more than $100 dollars tonight and the last drink I ordered was crown royal on the rocks , tha skinny white bartender gave me whiskey with coca-cola, I told him it was in the rocks and because of that he called the bass boy and told him to walk me out, and said that I was trouble, so I left Iwill not go back to this place , the worse service from this bartender, wonder why people dont go there anymore!

For our first time here this latino LGBTQ club wasn’t that bad, me and my friend had fun the night we visited, they have hot gogo dancers here and the lip sync drag queens to Mexican music was entertaining. Just a minor note they only take cash, the dance floor can get packed. They play a lot of old Mexican songs with reggaeton in the mix. Two dance floors and me and my friend had a problem with the bartender stealing two dollars from the $18 we gave him so beware and count your money!

I got there around 9:30pm. The place was empty, one hour later the place got busy. It was perfect (no crowded at all). Great environment to socialize, good prices on domestic beer & a great show performance (Rubi, Topacio, Maritza & other great performers). Place was clean, staff was super nice, the restrooms had a staff providing hand soap, paper towels etc. Loved it. I would defenetly go back again Mondays...😃

I been here a few times, several years ago..and unfortunately it had no access to the disabled community to the upstairs area. I hope this reaches to the owners of the establishment and install a elevator. I wouldn’t want to involve the ADA department.

Great place to dance. great service at the bar, fast and friendly, perfect place to be whit your freands,always have a blast .The top floor plays the best music to dance all night long.The show is always new fan fabulous...

Overpriced $15 to get in $15 for a vodka cranberry was there on a Sunday very dead. What happened to this place use to be the place to go to on Sunday’s definitely not going back.

Great gay Latino dive bar with reasonably priced drinks and drag show nightly. Only reason Im not rating 5 stars is bartenders play favorites and dont even hide it. So be warned. If your not a regular you will wait a while for your drink when it gets busy.

Great entertainment, atmosphere and levels of fun for all. Come check it out. You wont be disappointed.

Parking is expensive.Its all Latin (Which is Ok, and im latin) but it needs more party and less talking. More Comercial music and not only Mexican.

Security guards are so ignorant, rude and a bad element for the business, do they even understand what an asset or a liability is? Idts... the place is not so bad really, management needs to understand the importance of good employees.

Well, I am sorry to say like others famous Night Club closed down after many years of success, Club Tempo best years where miles of human lines to get in are gone, in the past was Faces, In the present is Club Tempo in the future I hope new generations enjoy a different Night Club like the gay community enjoyed Club Tempo. It is time to move on.

I just went to experience the cowboy music. Had a good time 2 floors for a small place you can walk up and down and an upstairs patio.

Tempo is always fun! A great atmosphere, there dance floors, drag shows, inexpensive drinks, food on the upstairs patio...The outdated, tired sound system needs replacing, though

The atmosphere very good. The waiters were very attentive but the security, some of the securitys, were very bad-tempered. It is understood that you cannot drink at 2am. But the way they ask for it by shining light in their faces and shouting is not the way. A complaint was made to the head of security and he replied “if you dont like it, dont come” thats not the way either.

We love to go dancing and have fun, it is the place we always choose to spend a nice and pleasant night. the music, the atmosphere and the interaction with the waiters who are always very friendly and smiling. The drag show is another madness. The imitators always give their best, their outfits and their impeccable jewelry. you spend a very happy night in the company of your friends

The dance floor downstairs is my favorite, I went for many years and I often saw fights because the breed behaves like beasts in a corral. They push intentionally and you feel it, they follow you to provoke you. When its accidental they apologize and you accept it, but these beasts dont. I didnt go for a while and less than a year ago I went again and had the same experience with these animals who dont know how to dance on a dance floor with people. Civilize beasts!!! My recommendation is to report these types of incidents immediately and remove these uncivilized animals.

I dont recommend it $18.00 entry a show ends and you have to vote for your beer or drink it lightly thats on the top floor. Dont go to the end Mexicans

Great dive bar for Latino dancing and drag. Great crowd and decent drinks. It’s shabby set up is what makes it authentic and cool.Its a good bar for partying and looking for males and passives. Good drag shows, dancing, and decent drinks. Both are very Chacalon but authentic

A nice place to have a few beers but the only bad thing is the security staff, they are super rude people and they treat you badly, apart from being homophobic, there are already several who hit the customers and still laugh, they are drunk and on drugs, what a bad experience but The atmosphere and place are acceptable.

It is an ugly and ordinary place. A horrible show and the security had terrible service and over the years this place has gotten worse. I do not recommend it to anyone, there are better options in Los Angeles where they treat you well and treat you with respect. Better dont come to this place. My only recommendation to the owner of this place is that they change the manager of this place because they need to improve otherwise they will go bankrupt.

I have been coming to this place for 23 years. And today the Show is the worst.They charge $15.00 for a cover and for a Crown Royal. $15.00... They need to make a campion with the Coordinator or Director.. They need to return to Cecil..

I havent been to that place for a long time, years I can say! I had a good time! My guest really liked it!! It seems to me that the staff who work there are friendly regardless of other experiences with other people. If I have a good attitude I expect the same and it was. Thanks tempo!

TERRIBLE PLACE. THE BARTENDERS AND SECURITY AS WELL AS THE MANAGER, VERY BADLY EDUCATED, VULGAR AND DESPOTS, THE DRINKS ORDINARY AND VERY EXPENSIVE, SHOWS WITH OLD TRANSVESTIES, BATHROOMS DIRTY AND STINKY OF BASE AND URINE AND THE JEANS VERY EFEMINATE. A horror!!! I was expecting something similar to a regular gay disco with electronic or pop music and I find pure Mexican atmosphere and rancheras and older guys with hats. I felt cheated, I came searching on Google but bad bad bad. I do not recommend to anybody
