Came here for a few events while visiting La. I can honestly say the food they serve is absolutely incredible. The chicken tenders are the best I’ve had. Big juicy and crispy. The staff are all friendly and professional. The lady who took my food orders on both days was an absolute credit to this place. Prices are very reasonable and the shows put on are well worth the money. There is some lovely pieces of art dotted around the venue and the mural in the smoking patio is incredible. Well worth a visit to anyone wanting to support LGBTQ+ venues.
Decided to go on my last night in Los Angeles, and it was very good. Johnny was great, he was attentive without being much. He made great drinks! But when his shift ended the next bartender, I didnt get his name, he barely looked at me when my drink was out, he kept talking to someone though. I had to move into his eyesight for him to get me another drink, twice. I was standing maybe 3 feet away. But let me tell ya, the chicken tenders are amazing! Johnny recommended them and hes right. He said they arent the frozen kind but actually home made. So so very delicious!
If you want to see hilarious, edgy, and creative performances unlike any other in the LA area at a crazy affordable price then Precinct is the place to go. Queens performed unique numbers with plenty of audience engagement. A group of friends and I went to the first installment of She’s in Parties (a now monthly goth night) and had an amazing time. All of us frequently go to other goth nights/clubs in the area and unanimously agreed that Precinct is now our top choice for dark night life and entertainment. We’ll definitely be coming back!
RACIST BOUNCER!!!I am a Korean trans man and gave my ID to the bouncer earlier tonight and the first and only thing the he said was “One child policy? Only child?? China!! CHINA!!!” I told him that was racist and he said nothing - just laughed and waved me inside. I immediately alerted the staff taking the cover fee upstairs and the manager happened to be present. He later asked me to identify which staff said the racist comment and gave me a gift card and a free drink (which my friend had to request.)I have been a patron of Precinct for many years and never in my life have I experienced such blatant racism. A younger version of myself would have said nothing and carried on with my night. But NO MORE. I stood up for myself and my community. I’m a Los Angeles native and will never stand for racism or bigotry of any kind. Since management attempted to remedy the situation I stayed to support the wonderful drag performers -but I am disgusted by the behavior of the bouncer and no longer feel safe at Precinct or would recommend this venue to any of my Asian American friends. Truly despicable behavior and utterly disappointing coming from a gay bar.
Precinct is my favorite queer bar in Los Angeles. I’d say it is the most inclusive and diverse spaces in the area. They have a bunch of curated events that cater to different members of the community. My only complaint would be the cash-only cover. There is an ATM for convenience, but I’d prefer to not have to do that. Eclectic go-go dancers, good music, sufficient number of bartenders, and better-than-average quality bar food. Precinct really has it all.
Shady bartender that charged $10 for a tequila ginger beer one time then charged $24 for the exact same drink 24 minutes later. Drinks were both after happy hour. Checked with other staff members who seemed concerned when I asked them if that was normal. Food was delicious though. Chicken tenders, onion rings and jalapeño poppers are well worth the price
I enjoyed this nightclub. The staff members were nice for the most part. I enjoyed the dancers a lot. I blew off all my cash on four male dancers, LOL that’s how great they were! One even gave me a hug before he got off stage. I’m from the Bay Area, and I think this is a very nice, large bar. Lots of space to go hang out in if you need some air or place to sit. I would come back.
The staff are fantastic, the service is great, shows and DJs are always amazing! I am partial because like Helen Harris, I know the owner but until recently I have never given a good review. I had pause the other day, I go in like twice a month at least, thinking of all the great times and amazing memories and I thought I need to show some LOVE! Wear whatever you want and be who ever you are, you are welcome here! Except for a sloppy drunk, bad tipper or bigot of any kind. Love the bouncers for getting rid of that trash!lol
The number one gay bar in LA if you ask me. Everyday of the week offers something fun and exciting. Also the food is delicious
If I lived in LA I would be here ALL the time. Such an awesome and cute gay bar! Wished we had something like this back at home! A must stop visit if youre in town!
Can be loud but its a dance club so what do you expect? Nice variety of shows & events. Has a great neighborly vibe.
We had so much fun playing bingo here! All of the staff were so nice. Good drink selection + mocktails. Large selection of bar food. Highly recommend!
Came here to watch drag race. It was a really fun vibe and I had a good time. The bartenders were super quick for how busy it was and were friendly. Drinks were well priced. I know times get really busy but the only frustration for me was that 4 of the bathroom stalls wouldnt lock and most of them were out of toilet paper so I found myself in a situation lol. Wish that wasnt the case but has a good time anyways.
Love!! This place.Only thing unfortunately the service and kindness are not equal between the bartenders. Same for the prices they ask for the same drink (in the same place 🤷🏻♂️) . happened to me several times.
I just want to say that this place always plays the same music on Latin night, the DJ plays the oldest and most boring music, everything is fine except the music.
A lovely LGBTQ bar with great music, wonderful community, art events, performances, and a crowd that is very diverse and unlike any other LGBTQ bar in Los Angeles.
I’m happy others here had a better experience than I did. I went to Precinct for the first time a few weeks back and immediately got off to a bad start. The woman at the front was incredibly curt to me, as I was trying to clarify given the time and sign in front of her whether or not I had to pay cover. She treated me as if I should have known better to even ask and was very short with me. I was still confused if I had to eventually pay, and I saw it was cash only, so I asked where the ATM was just in case. She pointed wordlessly to the machine behind her and gave me a look like I was a total moron for daring to ask. I felt incredibly unwelcome.I got a Beyond burger, clarified I needed it vegan without dairy and the person who took the order confirmed they put it in as fully vegan, while I waited for my friends. After waiting about 20 minutes I got a burger with mayo on it. I have a dairy intolerance and had to get it remade, which took another 15 minutes. The tots were great and the person working the counter was much more pleasant, but the burger and food overall was not worth the time nor the price. Bar staff were fairly neutral as far as demeanor.Maybe it was just the crowd and the night, but I got a very “mean girl gay” vibe from almost everyone and ended up sitting on the patio by myself until my friends showed, didn’t stay much longer after that. There was one pleasant group of people who briefly sat at the table with me, an oasis in an otherwise sea of weird stares and just a general aura of unpleasantness, as I was alone, scoping out the unfamiliar space, and not drinking.I’ve followed Precinct for a while and was excited to go to an event there, but it was one of the most uncomfortable experiences I’ve had at an LGBTQ space in LA — and I go out often to other queer events and spaces alone with far different results, often with new connections and friends. I don’t often leave reviews but I was really crushed that I had such a poor experience after looking forward to finally checking this place out. I won’t be returning.
Precinct is awesome! The performers are great, the staff is wonderful and the drinks are good and strong. They also have a terrific drag brunch. I want to go here every time I visit LA!
Love it! Great bartenders and a good atmosphere. My favorite spot in LA.
I left very madly because I come from San Bernardino by metrolink and public transportation and always have my backpack water and snacks in to get in the mind time I’m traveling and they always make me troqué my water and this time my snacks toSo stuped to do that never ever come back again 😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡😡🤬
Bartender was so rude. Asked to speak with a manager, none of the staff would help me, nor were they able to direct me to them.7/27/2024: Haircuts to match? Lol! what haircut should I have? Enlighten me.What I did witness tonight was your security assault a pedestrian. Refusing someone entry for whatever reason is one things, but shoving someone to the ground and punching them over and over again is another.
They will only like you if you are a fat leather with attitude. No thank you. 👎👎
I love this place,, the drinks, the atmosphere, the bartenders and other employees. It has such a nice vibe compared to pretentious WeHo. I love the djs, music and drag shows, all 5 stars and top shelf! Excellent place for dancing and they have a nice outdoor balcony area overlooking LA, truly magical in my experience.
The entrance has a cost that can only be paid with cash. The bartenders are very delayed and negligent with their service, the place smelled 🤮
Friends and I traveled from Florida to come here and see our favorite Drag queens perform. We stood in line for almost two hours. When we got to the door security wouldn’t let us in because my ID was expired. A bit of context; I am not a citizen and if you know the system you know it can take up to 6 months to get an ID back. I tried to present other ID to explain the situation but I was shut down. I understand rules but to every rule there’s an exception. I just think if TSA accepted my ID and I was able to travel from one coast to the next then security could have at least asked a manager if they’d be willing to make an exception. I’d even be happy with a no if there was some proving done.Edit: (because the person from the establishment who responded didn’t really read to understand) I presented alternate ID that wasn’t a driver’s license or state ID that was not expired but was shut down. I’ve worked in hospitality and restaurants for almost 10 years. I understand liquor licenses and laws. A better response would be admitting that you and your staff don’t feel comfortable accepting other forms of ID. Don’t be passive aggressive in a feigned attempt to sound “professional”. Just say you’re salty about the review girl.
Absolutely love this bar in downtown, and always recommend checking this place out for newcomers and visitors to LA. Great bartenders, fair prices, awesome events and entertainment, and a gem for queer nightlife outside of WeHo. The drag events that get thrown here are top notice.I wish the music on the dance floor was a bit lower though, as a few times Ive forgotten my sound dampeners, Ive left with ringing ears for several days. Definite hearing damage for everyone :(
Favorite bar in LA. Only thing that bothers me is that, theyre okay with cigarettes on their balcony but not marijuana even though marijuana is way less deadly for you and legal in California.. dj is always great and the bartenders are amazing. They make great drinks and you should definitely take whatever recommendation they offer you if they offer one.
First time here with my friend and we really enjoyed our night here, it was my birthday and I felt so happy with the ambiance, music, people and the dance floor. It was memorial weekend so it did get very packed but over all a fun experience! I hope to be back soon.
Definitely my go-to spot on Friday nights. The drinks aren’t overpriced, and the DJs are always on point with the song choices. The bartenders are friendly. People that are drinking tend to like cutting in lines, but I’ve noticed the bartenders knowing exactly who got there first lol
Always a great time at Precinct! From generous drink pours to exceptionally welcoming crowd to vibrant shows, Precinct is the place to be. Highly recommend if you’re not sure what type of night you’re looking for as they have different sections with varying vibes. Definitely my favorite spot in LA.
Had a terrible time on a Friday night. It was my first time there and I didnt know there was a cover charge for the drag show happening inside (which was a total letdown btw). The front desk person stamping peoples arms was rude to me as if I was expected to know all the rules of the place The crowd was okay and the beer was okay too. Bartender was good and the beer was cheap at $5. Dont know how it is on other nights of the week.
I had a great experience 😃😃😃😃 iand enjoy my experience.happy happy happy enjoy pride.also included in this also happy birthday to me too enjoy yourself have fun and been having dinner a review since Mickeys dance company! Ill be going back maybe this weekend again back please and I loved it enjoyed myself downtown LA
Love going to the place once in awhile when I find time to, the bartenders are a good time very social group of guys Damous was one of the guys I met sweet guy and welcoming. I tend to do things alone but having somebody be open to chat and.introduce you to his group of friends is refreshing. Thanks guys I will definitely be returning
My favorite gay bar in Los Angeles. Drag queens, and dancing, and bear nights, oh my! Strong drinks, large dance floor, open early enough to hang around earlier in the day. They serve food too. Best times with my friends are dancing and drinking here. Always cute guys here too, dont know how that works.
My first time here was Saturday. Theyre open early and serve regular bar food. They have puppet go-go dancers, which are funny and creepy, depending on where youre standing. Good music selection and awesome location. Huge space. Oh and they have gender neutral restrooms.
Its a good time, but after just becoming a weekly regular I had to stop going 4 weeks ago because theyre no longer requiring proof of vaccination at the door. I work in healthcare with people going into surgery, so itd be immoral for me to attend. The place was becoming a weekly favorite, so Im pretty disappointed. I guess its back to the crawl and Ill eventually find somewhere else.
LOVE IT! DTLA!? SHUT UP! The outdoor area is so genius (above street level) and very popular. Some of the best bartenders Ive ever met in the city ended up HERE! Lots of space and the music is NUTS! I never leave the dance floor in dry clothes here! There is something for EVERYONE here- mean that!
Went this Saturday for my 1st time. Was crazy busy. Great place lots of Fun. Ill be back this weekend. Awesome shows & Music. Friendly Bartender & staff.
Our favorite bar in DTLA! Its the largest LGBT bar in downtown and caters primarily to bears. The staff is very friendly and both the staff and clientele are easy on the eyes! I usually go Sunday afternoons, but Saturday nights can be amazing. I definitely recommend visiting this bar when in the neighborhood.
“Beware before you check a personal item in”Hey guys and girls, where should I start. This venue is great, the music and the people always have a positive five. And the show is pretty great. But no warning, don’t bring a jacket coat etc. the coat check is extremely irresponsible. They lost the jacket of mine, and after the night of the incident they assured me they would replace it or compensate me. It being a brand new jacket. Of course I’ve never heard back from them I have called numerous times never to hear from them. So customer beware! You check your personal item at your own risk
I really enjoy coming to this place. Honestly. So much so that I’ve even brought my own mother and sister along on a recent trip here! We all had a great time and I love the diverse group of people that go there! A little bit of everything for everyone. The vibe is chill and the drinks are strong (our Paloma’s were fuego and we had a few)! Look forward to coming back here soon :-D
My phone (and wallet) got stolen during the Bearracuda party for pride weekend. The staff were not very helpful (ask for specific info so they can use the footage etc.) but just said they dont have my phone and there were 5+ phones missing that night.
For coming out of the closet fairly recently, this bar is a nice place since the people are lowkey and the place provides a calm atmospher in the day time. My favorite night here is on Saturday since I love dancing and seeing the GoGo dancers heat up the place. Also, they provide relatively low cost meals.
I loved this bar till my horrible experience last night 1/6/18 .My partner of one year and I where celebrating our first date anniversary ( yes we had our first date at the precinct ) so we invited a few friends for a fun night out. Later on in the night the bar manager decided to tell us to leave due to a previous failed business transaction with a previous tenant who so happens to be a bar back there . I am very confused over it since its a place of business to the public . I started going to this bar when it just opened and without causing any valuable reason the manager took it upon himself to make it personal by throwing me in my party out of the bar. This is completely discriminating.Ive been a healthcare professional serving the gay community and to the HIV community for the last 8 years and this is the type of respects and professionalism we where given last night.I am very disappointed with the Managers poor judge of character.Petty !
One of the best gay bars in LA. Its a big place which is fun to explore and its a welcoming, unpretentious crowd. The last time I went my friend and I were short the cash for entrance and the door lady put in two bucks for us. When have you ever heard of that happening, especially in LA?
If youre looking for a LGBT dive bar downtown, this is the place. Fun to stop by but maybe not spend your whole night here. It is located on the second floor upon taking the stairs (which by the way is as dive-y and dark as the venue itself). Some nights have cover so its good to call beforehand. Drinks are cheap for downtown standards. They also serve food at reasonable prices. I had the gravy fries with chicken and that was bomb. Went here to watch a screening of rupauls drag race but it was too crowded so you could barely understand a word of the episode.
My friend’s phone got stolen after 10min of walking inside and paying 80$ cover and they weren’t empathetic at all. Also it’s ALL MEN. VERY uncomfortable place for women
Its a fun bar but watch your belongings because it has a reputation of phones getting stolen, had my phone & credit cards stolen here and then used to buy drinks from the bar that same night :(
This place is always fun - good crowd, great drag shows and friendly service. The music is good too, especially all the Latino music which you can actually dance to!
One of my favorite places to go out in LA! Friday and Saturday nights are always lit--plus different shows/events during the week. NOT the West Hollywood scene....thank Goddess! Good ppl, good happy hour, always good entertainment!
Large space. Needs a better crowd
An excellent upstairs bar with a gorgeous outdoor patio circling the place, very awesome decor and interior, great music, drinks are fantastic and well priced, theres a large room in back home to both a DJ booth/dance floor and a stage for Drag shows and local theatre. Ill revise to include details about the kitchen on my next visit and if you come here do yourself a favor and check if Blake is in. Excellent bar tender, hell take care of ya and be sure to ask for his Acid Betty if youre in the mood for something sour but sweet.
Staff is rude and slow. Waited 20 mins in line. Then waited 30 mins in line with a slow bartender to get drinks, then they told everyone to leave at 1:45 and didnt let anyone use the bathroom. They close at 2 am and I had ample time to use the bathroom and leave by then. Take your business elsewhere
Loved this place because its big and cute . love the outdoorsey feel .. Bartenders are like whatevs ..I just hate that they charge . Im pretty sure its because of the gogo dancers(which are cocky and unfriendly) or because of the performers which i don care about . the place is beautiful tho..
I Enjoy this bar a whole lot.Its a large space. 2 dance floors.Very large outside inside covered patio.I know the owners and there really greatGo you youll have a great time.
I felt like I left LA and landed in a different gay culture. Great space. Lots of different rooms. Clientele totally not your WeHo/Silverlake crowd. Go for the drinks and the refreshing atmosphere.
Rude doorman asking for I.D. Yes one of us forgot it but we are 38 and 45! I understand there are rules, we are from Berlin so yes it’s different, but then to be told “Welcome to America “. Was a bit rude and condescending. So obviously not worth it! I Will recommend everyone stay away!
I never write reviews but my experience was that bad. Paid a cover to attend this poorly ventilated bar. Waited almost 30 mins to get a drink. Bartender served MULTIPLE people who came after me. Awful experience. Will not be returning.
The Gay Club experience in DTLA. Came on a Wednesday and it was dead. But Ive been told Queen Kong Fridays and weekends are party times with admission prices of $7+? Staff are friendly and bartenders are heavy pourers. Looking forward to check this place out on a weekend.
Clearly, this place is more suited for the cliche gays with disposable income. Overpriced cover, overpriced drinks, and overpriced parking. It is surprisingly spacious inside; I’ll give it that.
Its very casual. Its nice to see older chunky hairy men (bears) dancing in their jockstrap beards and beer bellies!!! There is a place in this diverse world for everyone. Even those going thru their second midlife crisis (lol)!)
Door nazi wouldn’t accept a photocopy of a U.K. passport as ID. Who would risk losing their actual passport on a night out?! So we went elsewhere, and fortunately other bars in town were much friendlier.
Friendly place. The bartender Johnny took time to get to know me personally in a crowded bar in a crowded city.
The cover charge is a killer but otherwise cool spot
Drinks were ok but atmosphere is fun and the music was great!
Bartenders are super nice and the price of the drinks were fairly cheap. More of a boys place but definitely worth going.
Person charging covers is always extremely rude, and didnt even tell me what the event was occurring. Often bartenders are rude as well. Sundays is the only time you should come here
Its not WeHo. Its not Silver Lake. Its Downtown... And its takes a big set of brass balls to open a gay bar in what used to be hostile territory. Precinct helps us all stand tall.
Good mix of people and the crowds were friendly. Never thought a place like this was in my area. Ill be making this my go to bar.
Gay bar at dtla. Great for LGBTQ crowds and girls night out! Has performance occasionally and big space to talk and sit.
Place was cool, but the bartender was so far muy group just walked out. Rather take our money elsewhere.
Queen Kong on Friday nights is always a good time. 80s and 90s music. Can we get a hip hop night?
Open environment and great staff. Strong drinks and good times all around!
Its okay. Nothing special, and they charge cover charges often. You might as well go to any other bar in WeHo. Parking here is terrible too.
Really cool spot, lots of room to dance and mingle, and the bartenders definitely know how to make a good vodka tonic.
Love it and always enjoy time and friendly people good event on Saturday night. I live in Rialto and always go there once a month.
It’s an average gay bar. Not many women. Music is pop music. The line is long on weekends .. come early. It’s ok.
So. Much. Fun !!!Definitely the best gay venue in central LA
Its in downtown LA, the weekends are ok if you dont want to travel to west Hollywood
Best Gay bar in downtown LA
Great drinks, great drag show, visiting from out of town for DragCon, great place.
This is a great place to have a great time and there food is really good too
Big Venue, lots of energy, drinks that do the job, and lots of fun.
Not so friendly staff , but great venue ,excellent spot for Sunday fun
Great staff, owners and community. Strong cornerstone for DTLA gay bar.

It’s not a bad place for a quick drink
Great place to go & have fun. Great music to dance to too.
My favorite queer/gay bar in LA. The best.
Boulet brothers are to die for!! great bar. sexy dancers.
I had no idea this place existed. Loved it, and only four Metro stops away😜
Horrible place do not recommend this place at all they do not accept lgbtq at all
The bouncer was awful and rude and didnt let me in after waiting an hour in line...
If you like manly men or manly gays perfect place my favorite place.
This is a very nice bar, bartenders are so nice. Recommended!!!
Great place to go out and have a drink, dance, hang with friends.
U need vaccine card to get in thanks for wasting my time. Sheep
YO, THE MF LOCK IN THE SINGLE-TOILET RESTROOM DOESN’T WORK! FIX IT!
The best gay club in dtla with themed nights and friendly staff
Very nice place nice and friendly people bartenders are very nice also
Soooooo. Fun. Let the gay begin.
Awesome venue. Would be cool for shows too.

Great space, but bad experience. I was watching the drag show last night when I suddenly began to faint and get cold sweats. I grabbed the pole next to me but my vision completely left, and I knew I needed to sit down. Every couple steps I started to faint again, but I eventually made it to the closest bar and sat on the ground to regain consciousness and signal I needed help. I was scared. I tried to explain to several people I needed help, i wasn’t ok, I was fainting and needed water, but by the time someone actually gave it to me, I was dripping sweat, overheated and felt nauseous. I was told that I couldn’t be near the bar getting sick, which, even though this was a medical issue, I somewhat get. (Although if I needed water, then got sick from not getting it, I’m not sure what I could’ve done differently). But there was no winning because I asked repeatedly for a trash bag so I could move away from the bar to somewhere cooler and more appropriate without making a mess, but they would only hand me the bar trash can, while yelling at me that I couldn’t get sick there. The next move was swiftly kicking me out of the bar. I guess when I explained I was having fainting episodes, they chose to believe I was probably just blackout drunk ( I only had 2 drinks all night). While being forcedly escorted out of the bar, half-fainting, ears ringing, I was being yelled conflicting things by the strange men around me (pick your head up, don’t get sick right now, it’s okay to be sick right now, you can’t be acting like this, this is inappropriate behavior). When I got outside, when I tell you it was like night and day, it’s like I was never sick. Lowering my body temperature by going somewhere cooler and getting some water helped me instantly. All I needed the whole time was for someone to listen to me. Instead I was written off as belligerent before I had a fighting chance and kicked out like an animal when I needed help. I see what they mean when they say females aren’t believed at hospitals. The bar staff was much more concerned about getting rid of me than listening to me and helping me in a medical emergency. This is a form of cruelty. I hope they can learn from this so no other human gets treated like a subhuman when they genuinely need help. We’re all very lucky I didn’t fully faint and hit my head while I was being forced out.
The bartenders are attentive, the music is good, the prices are good. The bad thing is that you hardly see cute boys, at least on the occasion I was there.
Unfortunately there is no complete professionalism in the presentation of food and drinks.
I didnt like the bartender, he behaved very badly with me just for being Latin and not speaking English.
