Im honestly shocked that theres only 4 stars for this location! I will admit that obviously since Massage Envy is a chain its bound to happen that the massages and services will be inconsistent from location to location.. thats just unfortunately a side effect of being a chain.However I visited the J-Town location this past Monday for my birthday and I had hands down the best massage experience ever! The receptionist who checked me in (I wish I got her name but it was a 2:30appt and she was the only one working the counter) was amazing! So pleasant and truly just a gem!And my massage therapist, Peter? I will never go to anyone else for a massage so long as Im in Louisville. I was in HEAVEN. Seriously I havent been that relaxed in years. Peter is magic! I went in with a migraine and within 5 minutes it was gone. I can not recommend him enough!The only con is yes the price, I do wish it was slightly more affordable without having to commit to a 12 month membership because Id definitely go more often but I also understand thats business and it gives me something to work harder for..Seriously you wont regret going to *this* location.
Has anyone had the hardest time ever canceling their membership? Ive called the front desk and they cant help me. They say I have to talk to a manager, so they leave a note for them, but I never get a call back. Every time I call the manager just so happens to have left for the day. Now when I call it goes to voicemail. I leave a voicemail and no one returns my call. I filled out a cancellation form a month ago and called today and was told my account is still active. Why is this so difficult? Can someone please respond?
I had a scheduled appointment for 10 am. I arrived at 9:48 and sent the required text to let them know I was there. I was told to come in at 10:10. It was another 10 minutes before my massage got started. It stopped at exactly 10:50. I got a 30 minute massage but they charged me for the full hour. There was no one else waiting so Im not sure why they did not at least continue until 11:00.
I do not like giving negative feedback but I feel compelled to say something. I joined Massage Envy while on vacation in Panama City this summer. I had one of the best massages from a man named Andrew. I came back to Louisville in hopes of finding a therapist that could equal up or come close and after 4 or 5 different people have been highly disappointed EVERYTIME!! I have symptoms of fibromyalgia and I am in need of a good massage therapist. I honestly feel like my therapists basically put lotion on my body and sent me on my way. Two of the times I have been there they shorted me on time where you actually do not get an hour. One therapist showed up 15 minutes late and assured me that they will make up my time and they did not! At this point I just want to be out of my contract. I have not said anything to anyone yet but I might give them one more chance to find a good therapist then if not I expect them to let me out of my contract! I did give it more than a fair try!
Great deals as a member. Some great massage therapists. Many choices in therapists. Find one you like an stick with them. Sometimes they mess up with the schedule, has happened to me 3 times over last 18 months. Always double check.
Felt like the person was using one finger to rub lotion in my back and seemed to be rushing through the session. When I told him the front desk recommended him to me because of his deep pressure he rolled his eyes and sighed in annoyance which made me uncomfortable. Also was offered lavender aromatherapy which I accepted but was not told that it came at an extra cost until after the session was over. I was really looking forward to this because I’ve had a lot of stress lately but this just left me irritated more than anything. Disappointed and will not return. Good thing the massage was given to me as a gift and I didn’t actually have to pay for this. Leaving two stars instead of one because the receptionist was nice.
I walked in to purchase a $70 ($55 massage and $15 tip) gift card for my mother for her birthday. The THREE receptionists never told me that my mom would have to give them her credit card information in order to schedule her massage. So when my mother called and was asked for her credit card info she was not able to give it to them at that time so she was unable to schedule an appointment. The same day she went into the office with her gift card in hand to see if there were any appointments available. When she arrived and presented her gift card the receptionist told her that they still needed to have credit card information on file. What is the point of selling gift cards if someone is still going to have to give their credit card information? I could have just given her 70 bucks and avoided a trip out of my way. My mother was willing to pay with the gift card on the spot or leave the gift card with them to come back for her massage one hour later and was still told that she was not able to do that unless she presented a credit card to put on file. Again, what is the point of having gift cards if you still require personal financial information to use it? So then my mother asked if she could get a refund for her gift card and again was told no. So I would like to know how you expect someone that may not have a debit or credit card to get their massage? Even though they have cash or a gift card readily available. Money is money. The gift card was purchased at that same exact location just a week before. And why would you not tell your customer that info when they buy a gift card? And dont let the sign on the window fool you. You do not get a one-hour massage for $55, you are required to have a 10-minute consultation before your massage regardless of your preference. It does say that online but that information is not posted on the store advertisement, which was where I got the idea. My mother has been a victim of identity theft twice in her life, so pointlessly giving away her financial information for businesses to have on file is not something that makes her too happy. Thanks for the stress and inconvenience! We wont be giving this place any more of our business. Ive been to other similar businesses for gift cards and never had this issue!
Visiting from out of town, my sweet husband bought us a couples massage. Earlier this spring I had a major issue with my SI joint, it still bothers a little. Callie, my massage therapist, worked wonders on my hips, si joint and lower back area. I would highly recommend!
Good center for wonderful backpain massage, Nikki was the staff who was very helpful and understand my health issue and she did really good service in that spa center. price was bit high compared with other guys compared in Louisville..due to price only i give 4 star rating.
My massage was heaven, and the girl that gave it to me was awesome, so much so that I will ask for her specifically for the next one. She got all the knots and kinks out my neck, shoulders, and back. Massage Envy rocks!!!!

I seem to always leave here in worse pain than I came in. We always ask for a masseuse with a training in trigger point, went schedule they say they do but once we get in the room they never do
