I was here for a party that someone hosted from Facebook. Personally I don’t smoke so the hookah thing was a con for me. The food portions were very large my shrimp still had some excrement in them and the outside section was not that friendly because the sections didn’t coincide with each other. But the servers and the bartender were nice. I don’t drink so I asked for ice water with tonic and lemon and they were very accommodating. And the other thing was that the bouncer didn’t allow me to take my water with me when I was ready to leave, I thought that was out of the ordinary.
I cant even to begin the express my disappointment with this place. We reserved a table for my daughters surprise birthday dinner. I bought a cake with me which they promptly took from me and put in the kitchen. Everything was going fine until it was time to bring the cake out. I watched them bring it out from the kitchen, take it to the bar and then take it back to the kitchen area. I thought that was a bit strange. Then they head to the table with the cake. The cake was a mangled mess. I asked the server what happened and couldnt get a descent response. I asked to speak with a manager and they took forever to come speak with me. When he finally came to the table he was very rude, dismissive and wouldnt even take ownership of the fact that they messed up the cake. He was argumentative and wouldnt even apologize. He stated it wasnt his problem. We spent over $1700.00 and I would NEVER go there again or recommend anyone else go there. It ruined what should have been a great time. Absolutely the worst communication and customer service.
I got a blackened salmon salad and it was delicious!! 😋 I just loved your holiday decor! Our bartender was super nice, attentive and knowledgeable about the menu items. ⭐️ Good place to watch sports. So many different booths, rooms and areas makes this the perfect gathering spot for all size groups. I can’t wait to come back and partake next time n the hookah and outdoors area.
My first time here a few weeks back and all I can say is I love this place! The food, drinks, service, music and atmosphere is a vibe. Me and my friend went before night life hours and when we left the parking lot was jammed packed with people trying to get in. There weee three events that night, it was definitely the place to be. I dinned inside on the first level but they have a outside area and a upper level where you can dance, drink and party. I loved the dj that night and the food was really good. The waitress we had was so pleasant and reminded me of what great service is. We will definitely be back for more!
My 2nd time here I came years go for my cousin’s birthday celebration. Came here this weekend to celebrate 3 lady’s birthdays. It was supposed to be free before 9, Unfortunately I got stuck in traffic coming from North Jersey but made it to the window at 8:58 pm and they charged me $30 to get in stating they were having an event. Annoyed I paid and went inside. It was fairly empty but the dj was playing music that we liked. Our waitress was great I hate that I don’t remember her name. We were ordering drinks from the bar instead of at the table so that when it was time to pay the bill wouldn’t be too bad. There was about 14 of us. The menu on the table stated that a patron margarita was $16 however the bartender charged me $20. Our bill for the table came up to over $600 for the food and one round of shots that were $16 each. Gratuity was included. The later it got the younger the groups were. Overall good time just way too expensive.
General manager working 7/26 was very rude & denied entry after we pulled up and my friend had a sip of JUICE before getting out the car. As soon as we got out the car we were told we can’t come in because we’re drinking in the car??? She had 1 sip of JUICE out of a clear plastic bottle. We even offered him to come search the car to where he will find no liquor. He says no & that he’s in charge & can deny entry if he chooses. He said he didn’t care that we come here every weekend, & there was no one else we could speak to. The other gentlemen working the doors heard us out but he would not! VERY poor customer service!! He then comes over to the car as we’re getting ready to pull off & says he needs to smell what she was drinking??? After he confirmed it was cranberry juice & he didn’t smell any alcohol he let us go in. There was NO line, we came early, and were not sitting in the car just drinking. We got out as soon as we pulled in!!! The way the situation was handled was very belittling & dismissive!!
We went for my sister birthday to just celebrate and have a good time lol and we had a time that night😂 the Dj definitely had us dancing even my mother was on the dance floor. The food was good came quick we also had hookah and the price we paid at the end was very reasonable. Only thing I can say is I wish I didn’t have braces because the food was gooood and I couldn’t really enjoy the wings like I wanted. Staff was very friendly and nice.
We went on a busy bike night event, and they were busy. Our waitress was polite and doing her best to keep up with the high demand of clients. Surprisingly, the food came out quickly and it was very good. The appetizers were a share amount.
I am delighted to share review of Vera in Cherry Hill, New Jersey, a place that never fails to impress with its food, ambiance, and impeccable service. Having been a loyal patron for years, I can confidently attest to the consistently outstanding experience that awaits at this establishment.Lets start with the food – my fav dishes are the mussles, burger and lamb chops. However, its not just the food that keeps me coming back time and time again – its the entire experience. The vibrant music and inviting ambiance create an atmosphere that is both lively and welcoming, setting the stage for memorable dining experiences with friends and loved ones. Whether youre celebrating a special occasion or simply unwinding after a long day, Vera never fails to deliver on ambiance. One of my favorite aspects of Vera is the owners warm hospitality, which is evident from the moment you step through the door. Their dedication to creating a welcoming environment where guests feel valued and appreciated is truly commendable, and its one of the many reasons why Vera feels like a home away from home. And lets not forget about the outdoor deck – a true gem during the warmer months. Theres nothing quite like dining al fresco on the deck, surrounded by good company and breathtaking views. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Vera to anyone seeking a great experience in Cherry Hill.
I went to Vera yesterday this was not my first time here! Me & my partner had 1 drink the drinks were strong and was only $10 which was strange because I never paid $10 for a strong drink at Vera! We decided to get a bottle instead but we both started feeling sick after the mix drinks. We were dizzy, shaky, nauseous, and felt a tingling feeling. My partner was stumbling walking to the bathroom. We literally had to force our self to go outside & vomit up whatever they gave us. I believe they cut their liquor when getting mix drinks and that is very dangerous because we immediately felt sick! We had to give away our bottle because we were too sick to finish drinking !! Also they now use the small heads for the hookah which makes it burn out faster to force you to buy a refill faster! They pack it with two coals which also make it burn out faster. We paid $35 for the first hookah and was told the refill was $44 how do a refill cost more then first one ?
Please be aware!!!! Do not order drinks from the bar!!! The liquor is not right and cut with something dangerous !!!! I had one drink from the bar and my head was spinning and my body started shaking bad!!!! Like I got drugged smh And I drink bottles!!! So I can drink, two girls in the bathroom fall out and saying the same thing they only had one drink and they fall out and head hurt and body shaking!!! Please do not drink the liquor at all somebody is going to die or end up in the hospital behind them cutting the liquor trying to make more money!!!! And a lawsuit is coming this is very dangerous 🙏🏽 please don’t become a victim… and I been going there for 8 yrs I can’t believe them
This place has a small pond where large fish are kept and forced to listen to horrible music at earth shattering volumes while people jump and dance around their small enclosure. I was told that the pond and neglected fish are for the ambiance, the Feng shui, well I’d stay the Feng away from this establishment until they can properly take care of their “property”
Had a day party for my dear friend who is Turing 50 and the professionalism was completely lacking. While dancing or eating there breaking down tables and balloons and the floor was sticky as hell. I’d never use this place for a party or dinner.
Great atmosphere for outing with friends, day or night. Three levels, indoor and outdoor seating, bar, table service, nice decor, but no vegan menu offerings.
First time and the atmosphere was nice the service for door was great and the food was good overall excellent service and great place for girls outing or date night or just wanting a different scene
Urban tropical atmosphere .. Great place ... Food is top notch... Drinks are great ! We bought bottles and an amazing margarita that came in a mini bucket wit an actual shot of Grand Marnier sticking out of the top of the drink... Hookahs were on point .... The service was great... They have beautiful waitresses ... My boy Wes will take care of you at the door if you want tables... On weekends I recommend you try to call ahead to reserve your table... Deposit is required ... They have bar sitting ... Patio sitting .... Restaurant setting and A Vip even more upscale causal gear setting as well... I went twice in one weekend... They have great DJs.... Highly recommended place if you in Philly or in Cherry Hill Nj...
Its a nice place; the music is great, but the fact that you have to pay $20 to $ 40 to get in and you cant even get a seat is crazy to me. Even females have to pay to get in. You have to order a bottle to get a table; not fair at all. Greedy.
Went there yesterday to celebrate my birthday, They messed up my birthday cake and management was very rude about the situation and didn’t have any sympathy about it. I wouldn’t recommend going there to celebrate your birthday. Vera you need to do better with your service
We went to Vera on a girls night out last Friday and the ambience was superb!!!!! The food and the dining experience was lovely. It was a nice break. The music the place the service was very good . Would recommend this place for a girls night out , birthday parties 🥳. We tried the Margarita fishbowl and the drinks were so good 😊. It was not that crowded .
It was absolutely positively amazing. Honestly cannot wait to go back, especially with the crowd that was there. It was so welcoming and to be my first drag show it was perfection, the food, the drains the ambiance. I loved it 10/10.Amazing girls! Much love from Philly
We came to a dinner party, where food was provided in the package asa buffet style but drinks you had to pay for at the bar. The food was not worthy of $1100 bill, which consisted of boneless buffalo tenders, regular tenders, pasta, and some cheese steak egg rolls. The party was suppose to be private, but someone else was in our space having a party watching the game right next to us.The party was for 25 people but others who previously couldnt attend started to show up and not knowing of course this would happen we just continued to enjoy ourselves ordering drinks, until an hour into the party the staff took the food away, stop serving us stating that because the party was only for 25 people and more people showed up they wanted us to pay more money, but nothing extra was being provided. We were paying for drinks and we didnt ask for extra food we were actually buying food from their other menu, because the food provided just was not good enough. The manager never discussed that this would negate the contract we already had in place, nor that it was an issue because he let them in, and he was making money off them since they were buying drinks from the bar. He assumed that he could just make us pay an extra 600 Dollars plus just for bodies when they are paying for their own drinks. So of course we refused to pay extra. He didnt even honor our original contract which is supposed to have food for 2hrs. He tried to get over on us and waited until we were having a good time to manipulate the situation. We spent a good $1500/$2000 with the party and drinks we had to buy separately and the food that people also ordered but he wanted to be greedy. So when he didnt get his way after shutting the party down and ignoring us, he then proceeded to call the cops trying to say we didnt pay our bill making out as criminals, spitting lies saying he gave us extra food and we needed to pay more money. I was so disgusted by how management handled this, the greed is real and I will never give this place another dollar of my money. Oh and they tried to charge the card days later which is crazy, I know next time I will just do a dinner not a party because they really got over on us. SMH
I had so much fun great host and the food was good. We was lit lol. It can get pretty expensive so be prepared when you go there and make sure all yall can split the check. Our bill was $900 we brought 2 bottles and paid for a section, plus the food of course and hookah. You must make reservations up to 8 people for the table and they make you buy a bottle if you reserve a table or you will wait in line for 2 hours and not guaranteed to get in.
The vibe is always nice ..the security team are always professional and make you feel safe..the food is delicious and the drinkssssssss are great.
Vera is a Top Notch Night Club. There is nothing like it in Philadelphias Nightclub Scene.I have had a wonderful blessing to video tape The Cintron Band last year and some of those show were at Vera. Why a great venue and what a great group of musicians. Thank you Vera and thanks to myBrother from a Spanish Mother, Edgardo A. Cintron.
I went on Thursday, Dec 14, for the first time. Had a wonderful time. I would recommend this place to everyone. The service and the food were great. They are having another show around Martin Luther kings birthday and I cant wait.
Food was good. DJ was amazing. Definitely week return to party outside when the weather warms up.
It was quiet for a Friday nite when I went but the food was amazing and waiter was always available and I ordered 2 additional plates and my bill was reasonable for me to have paid for my date and drinks and additional 2 other plates lol This guy below the bucket drink was so delicious and worth the 20$ I paid for it.
The atmospere was nice, I had cheese steaks rolls they werw bland, and the drink was overpriced.
First off the place is a rip off. To make any type of reservation you have to order bottle service or a section. Bottle service/table is a minimum of 250$. But they take a 100$ deposit from you over the phone when you make the reservation and it does NOT go towards the 250$ minimum. They claim they’ll refund the 100$ a couple days after the reservation. It’s been 2 weeks and I still haven’t gotten my deposit back. I called last week about it and was told the accountant was sick for two days and my $ would be refunded in a day or two. Another week goes by, still no $, I call again and I’m told that when we went I never gave them my name for the reservation so they didn’t know that I showed up. So they just kept my deposit. That made no sense bc I was there and I did give my name. Without giving my name, we never would’ve gotten the table that we got when we were let in.Not sure if this is a scam they try to pull to pocket an extra 100$ from people, but I didn’t appreciate being told that I never showed up or I didn’t give my name after being told a week prior that the accountant was sick. The table that you pay 350$ for is a rickety small little 4 person table that was unstable and uncomfortable. We saw the waitress ONE time. She never came again. Had to flag the bartender to order and then refill a hookah twice. For the amount of money that they demand, the service is sub par at best. Then the issue of the refund of my deposit was the cherry on top. Felt like I was getting scammed. Still haven’t gotten my deposit back either. It’s supposedly finally refunded and will be in my account in a day or two…I guess we’ll see. Not happy.
My first visit and I already cant wait to go back. Let me first say that the gentlemen at the door set the tone and from there I felt appreciated as a customer. I will definitely be back. Food was on point, service wait times were minimal and I got seated right away!!!!! Galentines Day was a success for me and the ladies. Ps. Get the lamb!!
We had an event there last night and it was so welcoming and the music was on point. Fast service behind the bar as well!! Cant wait for next months visit. Next time I plan on getting some food.
The ambiance ALONE is worth the ride from Philadelphia. The food, drinks and service were first rate. The pricing was more than reasonable and the variety of their menu was impressive. Theyll be seeing a LOT of me. Great environment. A nightclub....merged with a great restaurant. A win win for everybody.
Have gone here for the last two years for multiple Drag Shows to support them. I love each show and the food is delicious! Staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is (strangely?) cozy.
This was my first bar experience since turning 21- the bar had a friendly crowd and great queens. Very accepting environment. Excellent service and menu, food was wonderful. Being from the Midwest, this bar was completely above my standards for the comfortable atmosphere. Can’t wait to return the next time I’m on the east coast!
Drinks are worth every penny! Believe me youre gonna love them. They have hookah at the enclosed bar with a nice dj. Staff is attentive and swift at the bar. The food could use a pick me up. Had the salmon and it hardly had any flavor, Bone in wings are huge and I dont like that, nachos lacked flavor, however, the jasmine rice is excellent and so are the boneless wings. If this review helps you please follow me for more local guides.
It is a great bar, the bartenders are wonderful. I love their happy hour
They swiped my cards 3 times too many. I guess they thought I was drunk. Jokes on you. I DONT DRINK
Went to this place for Big Scott production. Normally his affairs are at very classy locations. This place was ghetto. We had to wait outside in the cold to get in. You pay for your ticket and you cant go out because there is no reentry. Cold air from outside was flowing the entire night. They are saving on the heating bill. The drinks are over priced. You have to stand the entire night. They have ghetto girls dancing upstairs on a platform. Trying to create an atmosphere like the a strip club. Big Scott affairs are normally dress to impress, classy. It was young girls in the middle of the floor the entire night twerking in short skirts. Killing the vibe. The DJ was awful. The bar maids down stairs acted like they didnt even see you standing at the bar waiting to order. Dont waste your time going to this place you will be pissed at yourself. Big Scott, huge mistake on this location.
The environment was awesome, music was on point,FOOD WAS DA BOMB!! DRINKS NICE TOO!!
Its good atmosphere. Nice lighting. Customers Can still eat in but inside close at 10pm. Making a resrvation for inside consist of deposit and you have a 2hr window timing. Waitress Gabbi was friendly, pleasant and nice. Food was amazing and delicious I qould def recommend dining here. I also cant wIt until things are better from Corona because they have a club lounge that rocks
Great Place. Great Food. Hookah. Music. Overall great place. Will Return.
I came on Saturday night. This place is vibey and attracts a good looking crowd, but there was barely any dancing .. possibly because the DJ wasn’t really all that good *yawns*the drinks were weak unfortunately and overpriced..the watermelon hookah had barely any flavor.. it was just harsh..the staff weren’t very helpful (the bartenders or hookah/bottle servers)they charged $40 at the door after midnight for both men and women .. that’s expensive even in comparison to NY clubs.. I’m assuming it depends on the night and possibly because it’s one of the only “lit” spots in the areaa fight broke out inside and made its way outside …Thankfully there were police posted up outside the place..It’s a very spacious spot with a nice ambiance(a fire place, the layout.. there’s 3 bars inside..)It has potential to be better
Nice club with a nice vibe. Extremely crowded. Was told by the security staff that entrance fee can change daily ranging from $20 to $75 per person after 9:30pm. Before 9:30 is free. VIP is $250 per 4 people which includes entrance fee and a bottle. Brought 2 mixed drinks, 1 with a double shot and 1 with a single shot and it was $53. Food and hookah were good. Nice place but I wont be returning any time soon. For the price I wasnt to amuzed with the vibe.
Its a vibe, plenty of space to move around. Indoor and outdoor area, and Two floors. The food is good and the drinks are strong. They also have hookah. The DJ was on fire as well, every single song was good
In general this is a cool place to go. I am not a fan of automatic tipping at a bar but I usually justify this by having the bartender do more than one drink at a time. The food has been good everytime Ive gone. The only time I had an issue was when I was double charged and never issued a refund. So I recommend that you dont keep a tab open or pay with cash. Honestly, I spend less when I dont leave a tab open so maybe the error helped me, lol.
Terrible experience here. This was my first time back in years. There were 11/12 of us at the bar and only 25-30 people around the bar total so service should have been pretty good. First they tried to make us sit at a table without asking us. Then when we did get to the bar it took at least 20-30 minutes to be served EACH time we tried to order. They never told anyone about the automatic gratuity added to EACH of our individual bills. The servers were nice but slow slow slow slow and they kept changing them. At one point the girl didn’t know how to make the drinks. The food and drinks are ridiculously overpriced as well. I spoke to two different managers. The first was dismissive and the second was just downright rude and condescending. I am sure they don’t care but that’s 12 people that will never return again. The food was also pretty gross. I do have to give credit to the one young lady at the front. She was very kind and tried her best to get me some help. So thank you to her. But the men managers need to work on their customer service skills. They also did not give me an itemized bill at first. I had to hunt someone down for that too. Just overall awful service and experience.
Only negative IMO is the cover. A bit ridiculous, especially if only staying downstairs. Wife and I went to listen to music from our youth 😅 as they play a lot of great hip hop and r&b from the 90s/early 2000s. Two of only a few white people and totally comfortable and fun crowd. Bartenders and the main bar downstairs were very friendly and attentive. This venture we did not hit the night club upstairs or outside bar.
I hadnt been to Veras in over a year and now I remember why. We were celebrating a childhood friends birthday. We were eating. Drinking, dancing and laughing when a host walked up and said You guys have 10 minutes at this table . We still had food on our plates, drinks in our glasses and a full hookah. We all arrived at different times so we were continuously ordering. She brought security to our table and he looked so uncomfortable explaining that we had to leave. There wasnt a line waiting to get in, the parking lot wasnt full ..were all over 40 so we werent loud or wild ...it was disgusting. I wont forget theyll never get my money again.
Bottle only after a certain time 250 per bottle .we got 2 bottles: Titos and Rose, we were seated outside at a picnic table, took forever to get our drinks and music was not good. They did not play a variety. Also after 2hrs few of us left and few stayed and the few that stayed were told by the manager that another reservation now has the table and it is a 2hr limit . Like wat? We werent told that from the beginning. We paid 700. Will never come back there again. Terrible
I have came here on many occasions and this time the service has been beyond disappointing. They charge 30 dollars at the door just to not have a seat and then it’s no reentry. There’s too many rules, very young crowd which I believe they take advantage of and over charge. Majority of their night crowd are minorities and they are very rude when it comes to accommodations. I definitely feel like they take advantage of their environment.
I was there 1/27/24 for Darrells 58th surprise party just wanted to say it was very nice you have a amazing staff everyone was so helpful thanks for a great experience
This place would be better if it didnt overcharge and treat customers disrespectfully.I cant understand why every-time we come its a different incident that annoys me.They literally treat people like trash!Madison is not friendly and needs to be replaced with a friendly person who is respectful the male manager yelled at us and treat professionals like garbage!Do not spend your money here! 1k in the last month paying forFood & Drinks entry and its a place I dont recommend!!! The manager refuse to let us come in and complete the payment on our tab. Not customer friendly at all
I usually don’t write reviews, but this has to be said. I went there Saturday night and purchased bottle service, nothing was fully explained to me and a happy birthday sign was $50 more on top with bottle service. Worst birthday decision coming there and trying to support that lounge, they would never see me and my family/friends again.
Veras is a beautiful place with excellent entertainment. We also had the best waitress in the place. It was a celebration of my daughters birthday and we all really celebrated. Love this place.
❤️❤️❤️ Awesome birthday celebration for my good friend Amir.
We were there to see a cover band. It was my first time going to Veras. The place is huge, the parking is ample. The food (bar food) was tasty. Good drinks. I would make the hike and go again.
I stopped in on Valentines Day to get 1 of my favorite dishes(Lamb chops, mashed potatoes and asparagus). I didnt stay, but the atmosphere was Really nice for those who were coming to celebrate the holiday. They did a great job with the decor.
We waited outside for about 30 minutes to dine in.On top of waiting, we had to pay $20 a person just to sit and “PAY” for our dinner as well.We waited for 30 minutes to get a waitress. Then another 30 for our drinks to get to the table. We ordered our food then waited for ALMOST AN HOUR to get it! The food was HORRIBLE. The chicken was hard and dry. The salmon was extremely hard and dry.The drinks were watered down. Finally, I had to get up and go find my waitress so I could get the check to pay so we could leave. She took my card real fast and got it back to me without a problem. Why wasn’t the service this fast from the moment we got there???
This place is pretty much a teen bar. There was nothing but young kids hanging around outside waiting to be selected from the line to be allowed in. they charged $250 for bottle service and the place its not even upscale. Its dirty and in need of maintenance. The wait staff were friendly. The so called bouncers and security were unprofessional and obnoxious. They were yelling at people and being disrespectful. Only allowing their friends in or half naked girls. The food was typical bar food. Wings Buffalo shrimp fries etc. I didnt eat much but what I did eat made me ill. Eat at your own risk. I really wish there were more classy grown and sexy venues in the area where you can have a nice drink and enjoy good music
My friend and I had a good night celebrating my birthday. That morning things got bad. The waitress gave my friend someone else debit card and she had charges on her card that weren’t hers. She contacted them and she gave them all the information. They told her that they have to talk to the waitress to see what happened. What happened she was charged $300 that wasn’t hers. She f@@ked up. It was too much for 1 waitress to take care of all those ppl in VIP. She should’ve asked for help. Now my friend has to wait for the waitress to respond to them so they can determine about her getting her money back. So Insane!!! She canceled her card because someone has her card.
Music-GREATFood-GoodDrinks-👎🏽 Definitely not the alcohol that u ask for. I stick to my usual when it comes to drinks bc i know what i can handle & i don’t like hangovers. I’m so sure they put different alcohol in the bottles (like a lot of neighbor”hood” bars do but wasn’t expecting a place like this to do it). 3times i’ve been here & drank less than what i would usually bc i notice a difference than when i purchase the alcohol from a spirits store or a fine restaurant that i would go to. Each time i’ve been here i ended up with a bad hangover with only having a couple drinks whether if i only had wine or the times i’ve had top shelf alcohol. Makes me not want to drink there at all. I would have my drinks b4 going bc i Know for sure what i’m getting. Shouldn’t play with ppl lives like that.
Always a great time to hang out and enjoy good food. The music is great and the staff is wonderful. They have the best wings and lamb chops in South Jersey!
Will never be going here again. The manager/ supervisor African American guy, kinda tall and chunky made up rules and said we had to do bottle service at the bar. He was was very TERRIBLE. He had a attitude THE WHOLE time and got mad we didn’t get a bottle so he let us yet then got more mad he had to give us a refund for the hookah. I will advise you not to come here. They bill you for more than what you get and make it seem like it’s suppose to be on the bill when it’s not suppose to be. I will say don’t come here if you want to be billed for extra stuff you DID NOT pay for. The guy there will cause you trouble! Also found a hair in my plate of food! Please spend your money else where!
This place is extremely over priced. Went with some co workers for a nice night out. Went to have dinner then to the club upstairs. We spent over $600 on dinner which was not great. The garlic parm wings were terrible. Then we were charged a cover charge to go upstairs. We wanted to bring some stuff to the car and the bouncers gave us a hard time saying we all couldn’t go outside bc they won’t let us back in even though we were going to the club. The dj was awful, did not play good music. They charged $66 for a hookah! Way more expensive then NYC. I do not recommend this place at all!
DO NOT GO HERE!!! They close at 1 but on their website close at 2 the owner/manager is very rude!!!! He spoke to us in a very discriminatory tone. I hope they they find new management!!!! Also the drinks are super watered down… disgusting. Avoid this place at all costs. They really just try to get their money from you and are very rude to patrons.
I was here for a comedy show. We were seated out back on the patioVery nice vibe, staff was awesome, everything was very clean!! We ordered typical bar food.. nice sized portions for the price. The garlic parm wings were great!! The drinks couldve been a little stronger. Gratuity is added automatically. I personally dont mind but some folks complained about that. Definitely will be coming back.
This place seemed like the right idea for a birthday dinner until they wanted to charge bottle service just for us to be able to smoke a hookah at the bar section. The security was so extra for no reason claiming we needed to pay for a bottle to STAND at the bar to smoke a hookah. They literally picked on our party the entire night and did not kick out the other parties who were smoking hookah W/O a bottle. So they will definitely pick and choose who to let in and who to kick out. Take your money elsewhere, and the food was TERRIBLE!!
First time going here and when we got in it took them like 20 mins to get our order taken and then when we did order we ordered in to go trays. So we checked out all the food and then tried the lamb chops and they were good just needed some type of sauce on them. We also tried a lil of the sweet potato fries and they were okay thought they were gonna be crispy or crunchy but they were soft. The drinks we had we good didn’t really taste the alcohol but I sure did feel it tho lol. We end up paying and leaving but when we got home that’s when everything changed we tried the rest of our food. The wings we got were plain didn’t have any flavor, still didn’t really like the fries anymore, the mozzarella moons were okay it’s like mozzarella sticks but ok, the mashed potatoes was good only cus I put my own cheese in it, the quesadilla was okay too. But overall I don’t think we would go back for how much we paid for it
Everything wrong posted on here is absolutely true ! The bouncers act like prison guards cause they are told to treat everyone as if they are guilty of an act or mannerisms. And it is true about the type of patrons That come here weather on fri night or sat there should be a dress code . spend those $5 to go across the bridge cause this place sucks!
This place is the the worst, low end place in all south jersey. Went there for a 50th birthday party in which $150 deposit was put down to reserve a table. We went outside for some dancing and was told that we had to purchase bottle service if we wanted to dance out there otherwise we would have to stand by the bar. They want you to get bottle service served on a picnic table, what a joke.Besides all of that the staff was horrible, not friendly whats-so-ever. Also went to the bar and got 2 drinks which came out to $21 then they took it upon themselves to add a $4 tip to my card. Funny thing is my friend bought us 2 drinks and gratuity wasn’t added to her card. I’m confused why it was different for me????? This low end place is a joke and I will never be back there again along with others who attended this party. This place used to be a nice place to go to but obviously management went down hill. Get it together Vera or you will lose a lot of business!!!
Security and owner are very condescending, disrespectful and dismissive they really only care about you spending money on bottles and it shows. There was no line and yet the security guard tried to make us walk around a rope to take a longer route to get to the entrance, owner also made a snide remark, Very rude. The food is good the music is typically hip hop, afro beats ,rnb. Crowd is mixed, generally much younger. Overall this is an ok experience the low rating is really the quality of service. Waitresses are friendly but they do take forever to attend to you. This is often a hit or miss but the food makes up for their shortcomings service wise.
The food is ok. I came here before the pandemic and was able to sit outside, eat, drink, smoke hookah & enjoy the ambiance. After pandemic, they charge you a cover, then force you to do bottle service in order to go outside and sit. It’s overpriced and it’s a clear money grab. There’s nothing to do in south Jersey so they take advantage of that and overcharge. 1 bottle minimum is $250/$300. What a joke…. Save your coins.
Maybe 4..... The live band biz something was good. The servers or hostess were nice. A lot if space to be comfortable with your group or party. Expect to pay here. Drinks are top dollar and food is pricey. The food is good but pricey. The atmosphere was pretty good inside, a good mix of people who seen too enjoy themselves. The music or DJ was for everyone. Parking was good. A clean place. Not a bad experience here, will probably go again at some.point.
I will NEVER go here again!!! Their website says one thing but their staff says another and in order to enjoy the outside apparently you have to purchase bottle service of $250 minimum!! The website or staff does not tells you this when making an reservation!! We made an reservation 4 weeks prior based on the website stating for parties over 5 is recommended to make an reservation so we contacted the restaurant to do so. Upon making the reservation, they advised we needed to make an deposit of $100 which would go towards the final bill. Mind you the website states the same “deposit will go towards final bill”. No problem at this point!! Moving to the day of our reservation (6/25)..we get an confirmation call for our reservation & was then informed that there is an 2 bottle minimum which cost $250 per bottle & our $100 deposit will be taking off the $500 bottle service. 1st off we never made a reservation for VIP table which includes bottle service ..our only request was to be outside. We spoke to a girl name Madison who claimed she was the manager when I requested to speak her boss after she told us if we don’t get bottle service our $100 deposit would be forfeited & not put towards our bill. Madison then told me the owner was not there & she didn’t know the email address without looking on the website. We decided to keep our reservation since we’ve been planning this for a month & would speak to them again in person & to the real manager & hopefully the owner. After about 30 minutes, Madison called back stating they could accommodate us by moving us inside & then putting the deposit towards our final bill. We were expecting an classy yet comfortable environment but we got much less..more of a hood spot!! To sit outside or to go to the club on the 2nd floor you have to purchase bottle service ($250 minimum) which is ABSOLUTELY ridiculous!! This is Cherry Hill not Hollywood!!
So happy dance floor was back opened. One of the best spots to go in south Jersey. I. Went on Friday night which was Latin night. They still played a mix of music. Saturday used to be good too. I have not been back since the re-opened. Also 2 dollar Tuesdays was always good too. And 2 dollar Tuesdays is also hip hop night. Best place in south Jersey right now.
Sooo my husband and I visited as soon as they opened at 4pm. I didnt expect to have such a fantastic time so early! Great food and great music. Will definitely return.
Best girls night out ever! The drag queen show was fun and interactive.
Really nice venue. A step up from normal bar food. The ahi tuna appetizer was amazing and the Funnel cake fries are dangerously comforting and delicious! We went for a show, and the soundsystem, lighting and floor were amazing! The staff was courteous and did not nag us to death, although our food took longer than expected. Prices are very reasonable!
It’s disappointing that this place has so many great reviews. I gave Vera two tries and unfortunately I will need to find another bar.The first incident was with an over easy brunch, our group paid about $250 for the VIP. We arrived on time and they sit us at picnic tables, we asked for one of the lounge outside cloth seating. They advised we had to pay for bottle service which at the time there cheapest drink was $450 PLUS TAX AND GRATUITY. We paid it. We were expecting to move seats and than they advised us that we were sitting in the VIP section. I was utterly disgusted with Overeasy and Vera. The miscommunication of information was incredibly inconvenient and morally messed up.Today, I attend Vera with a few friends hoping to utilize the outside seating with hookah service. We were advised bottle service was required tonight and the cheapest bottle was $250. Im from Philly and I have been trying to find a fun place to hang out in south Jersey since moving here and I have had nothing but the worse experiences with Vera. There service from everyone is completely ridiculous as well. Long wait times, rude, not attentive at all, and very arrogant and entitled since they already tack on the 25% gratuity when getting bottle service. However, if you go just for there dining, they still charge 25% gratuity no matter the number of your party. There service and level of professionalism is very low.I don’t know if it’s a race thing or an opportunity to manipulate newcomers. Either way, please beware and call before to see what they are offering.
Had to stand outside in the cold to get in for a while. Security is very strict. $20-$30 cover charge but not much fun left kind of early.
Yesterday was my second time visiting Vera great location and vibe. The deck is very nice especially for the nice weather. The food is amazing and the fish bowls are a hit. The only thing that has to improve is the hookah I smoke hookah and I know what to look for on both occasions I had to tell the waiter that it barely pulls and to charge 35.00 and the hookah isn’t top notch really needs to be address because everything else is perfect so if your going to have hookah have to come correct.
It was a very nice environment. The food and music was great. The only issue that I had was when the check came, it wasnt pointed out that the tips were already included. The waitress received double tips from everyone because we received individual checks instead of a group check. We were under the impression that the tip wasnt included.
I will never go back here. The little bartender are extremely rude. We went there wanting bottle services to be seated outside and was giving so many different answers that did not add up. If your whole party is not there you can’t be seated for bottle services. If your whole party is not there you can even sit n eat at the restaurant and have anyone join you once your seated. They seem like they do not like outsider. We seen them treat the regulars like kings and I guess since our faces were familiar we were giving the cold shoulder. Well I’m glad they show their true colors because I would never go back
Will never be going back, emailed the establishment in advance to see if the outside deck was available for non bottle service they told me yes when I got there it was a different story, every employee gave me a different song and dance. The bar inside is actually one SMALL section at the end and the sides are designated for table seating??? Had plans to go upstairs to the sky lounge but for some reason THAT too was only bottle service. I went outside to talk to the manager who was already talking to a group of upset individuals having similar issues. When it was Top Dog I didnt experience ANY of these problems. Never again 0 stars if I could smh.
Ive been to Veras before but my most recent experience there wasnt pleasant. Dont get me wrong, the drinks were good with a liitle kick as it should. The music was great. But my food service was poor. My wings were soft and slimy. We asked for small customization,in which we were told could not be done to the food. Our server was rude and when we asked for a supervisor none came. Its sad because I went for my birthday to have a great time. But the customer service just wasnt there.
Was looking for a new place to dine with the family. Went Saturday on 4th of july weekend with a party of 8. Half adults half kids. EVERYONE from the managers , hostess , security , food runners and especially our server , where all awesome in every way possible. Food was great. Not one person was unhappy (even a super picky preteen). They even had a dj so it was an awesome time. Recommend trying if you want a new place to dine out!
I went there today and paid $30 for two cover charges. When we got inside there was no seating inside or outside. The place was a mess. No service at the bars, manager wasn’t around and they refused to give a refund. Stay away!!!
I havent been to this place since it was Top Dog. Im older now with kids but this place made me feel as if Im in my 20s again. There is a cover but well worth it to go with a group of friends. Very nice staff and great service. And the band had this older lady rocking out on the drums! Short of an actual celebrity showing up I dont think we could have had a better time!
The club/ lounge area was okay. It was nice that the outside and inside were open and there was enough space. I didnt like that they were charging 500.00 for a vip table outside. And the vip area had dry a energy even with alot people in it. The DJs needed to play some better music. Both needed to do better with reading the room. And they played the same songs repetitively. And then when people started vibing to song or era. The dj would cut the song short and put on a corny songs. Him doing that killed the energy. The drinks were good and were strong enough. The food was okay. But we both were sick for the next three days after eating there. And we did not drink alot of liquor. Literally for 3 days straight we were constantly in the bathroom.
This is my second time at Vera. I came again thinking it would be a different experience than my first. My first experience was pair with easy egg and they force us to purchase a bottle because we reserved a section outside. On top of that we had to purchase hookah. The second time i came. They informed us that outside was bottle service aInly and hookah is ONLY outside. Meaning, you must buy a bottle (min 250) to sit outside and purchase a hookah. The hookah range between 40-60. We sat inside and the waiter was not attentive. She took 15-20min to acknowledge us and take out order.I do not recommend Vera. However i have not experience their night life. I’m not sure if that differ from day life.
Late night menu options were good. Food was fresh and drinks were on point. I didnt like that you had to pay for bottle service to sit on the patio. Oh and they automatically added 20% gratuity. Other than that it was a good visit.
Currently here for New Years Eve and the DJ was not very up to date. The establishment lost 5 tables because they looked bored. Nobody looked like they was having a good time. Tried to ask the Dj to play a certain song and he waved me away and told me it would put the crowd to sleep. The crowd looked sleep. I know the song I requested everybody would know and would enjoy. I thought it was very unprofessional for him to wave me away. Me and my friend paid $35 to get in here tonight and was not satisfied along with the look of the other guests. Dj was not very good and the drinks was also over priced vs how they are priced on a regular day. Very disappointed.
Friendly wait staff, food was just fair and we had to wait an hour for the appetizer to be served. I love their friday night bands from 6-9. Last nights band was not so great, unfortunately. Good size dance floor. Nice deck/patio area. They should turn off the piped in music while the band is playing, tho!
Over priced entrance to go to the top part of the building. Not even a standard nightclub charges $30.00 per person, just have in mind that this is a “Bar & Grill”. The music was not not varied, but we still enjoyed the night because is not where you are, it’s the people you are with. Overall the place looks appealing (I’ve seen bigger and better places) ,bathroom wad clean and security was always around. You guys are the only “club” alike place in the area, with the amount you charge to the public I really think there is NO amazing experience you have to offer us.PS. For the ounces you pay, drinks are for sure pricey.
Stopped by on a whim. I had no expectations and didnt even know that this place existed. I had such a great time. DRINKS ✔️FOOD✔️MUSIC✔️✔️. I ordered chicken fingers, cheesesteak rolls, coconut mojitos and watermelon hookah. Planning on having a birthday party. Great time. You wont be disappointed. 😎
Went here on a Saturday night with some friends and it was a horrible experience. Why have a dj as if you can just go in to a dance floor area and then be told you have to sit at a table. Ended up going to the club upstairs and there was close to nobody in the place. We left briefly and were told we could come back in but then the rude people up front told us we could not come back in? But they stamped our hands before going in so how does that make any sense? We wasted $20 to get in there for no reason. What a mess of a place. And how are you going to charge $15 for a Long Island in a club nobody even goes to. Total rip-off and waste of money. We left and went to Adelphia instead which was much better.
I had an awesome time! The band was phenomenal! Great ambiance, attentive servers, lively crowd, and interesting drinks. This is the first place Ive encountered outside NYC that the restroom attendant was had an array of decent tolietries.Definitely worth a visit.
So my husband and I met my sister here last Friday night for my sisters birthday. My sister came all the way from Central Jersey 2 hrs up to go out near us so we could make it. She called they told her to reserve a table by getting a bottle for $250. That was steep but she said okay. They never told her that everyone had to arrive and go in at the same time. So we get there maybe 40 mims after because I got off work later than expected. They told me to call her to come get us and then they asked her where she was sitting and they told us we had to but another $250 bottle for us to get in. Vera is no way worth $500 for one freaking night. Whats worse is she called and they never said anything or we would have all waited and gone in together. The place plays good music but it aint that darn nice. Their website says walking welcome and they wouldnt even allow us to pay to just go inside it was ridiculous. Night ruined because I wasnt spending $250 on a $20 darn bottle of alcohol just to get in smh.
We visited this restaurant and the food was good. However, they are receiving one star as they added an automatic 20% to the bill. When asked why? The waitress gave two completely different answers. 1) we add 20% to all bills after 5PM. 2) We add 20% to all bills, since it’s outside dining. When asked where does it say that at? She stated it’s on our website. Ma’am, we didn’t check your website before visiting. The waitress received a tip on her performance. However, management shouldn’t force tips. Looks like they are taking advantage of customers, during a pandemic. We spoke to a manager and that went nowhere. His response, oh yeah they should tell you upon seating.
Arrived within less than 1.5 hours of closing. Our party received swift beverage service.Very cozy experience! The DJ was on point with the music and not just a typical boring record spinner. The music created the atmosphere.I have to return again when I have more time in the future.
Love ,Love Veras my husband and my husbands sister in law go on Fridays we love the food ,drinks ,music but wish they played more Oldies....Our Server Gabby is the Best very attentive great atmosphere! Highly Recommend if you just like to feel relaxed and enjoy your evening I give it 5 ✨️✨️✨️✨️✨️ !!!
MUSIC WAS FUN. ESTABLISHMENT? Need to be checked out. I wonder who I need to get in contact with to report them. Maybe the better business bureau? The management team and workers are super rude. They do not care about ANYTHING besides your card not declining. Do not waste your money. I won’t say time because again, the dj had the music lit. But you can get lit music, for half the price and better food AND better dancers ANYWHERE you go thats not here. Looks can be deceiving. And do not believe the hype.
Where do I begin. For starters Samir is “the man”, I told him what I wanted & he made sure to accommodate me in surprising my brother for his 30th birthday even w| a last minute booking of 25 people. Ian (security guard) who checked on us throughout the night & made sure we were good, even made sure we got to our cars safely. That’s greatly appreciated. Our beautiful server Sam was very attentive, polite and her energy is amazing. Sam kept the bottles & food coming any requests or questions she was right there, she decorated the section for me, made sure at midnight his cake & champagne came out as requested. I was nervous about booking w| the negative reviews. I must say! My entire party talked about how great of a time they had. My brother said “I had the time of my life”. Mission Accomplished! Thanks so much, we look forward to booking another party.
Please don’t drink here! Not safe.
Its a no for me very Racist towards African American people. We went for brunch sunday they wanted us to pay for our food before we ate and they followed us around to the bathroom and outside to make sure we paid the bill. I will never go here again.
The staff was so friendly and made me feel welcome. The DJ played songs I asked. Had a blast, I will definitely be back. What a great way to celebrate my birthday! The food was fantastic. I had the ahi tuna and shrimp tacos....delicious
I went last night (July 10, 2021). Get to the line. Security says “are you joining a party or purchasing a bottle service ” huh? I came to dance and eat. So apparently, there isn’t a dance floor anymore, not upstairs or downstairs. You either have to sit down and eat in the restaurant. OR Purchase bottle service to get in. The bottle service is minimum $250 plus tax which comes out to $329!!!!! And that only accommodates 2 people per bottle. Anymore than 2 people in your party results in extra bottles to be purchased. The bottle service is for upstairs and outside. This is the admission cost! You can’t even go anymore to enjoy food and dance a little. None of this is on the site. Otherwise we would not of showed up. It’s wack. Music was ok. Hookah is $44! It’s just too much and too shady. Don’t even bother. Not worth it
The vibe is good the servers are on point and attentive. Music is always good on the outside deck. The only problem is for some to sit out on the deck because of Covid you have to buy a bottle. But gather up enough people and split the cost and you are good. The food here is also on point all around good place to eat drink smoke a hookah or cigar and vibe out...
Cancelled a pride event for run of the mill dance event that is hosted by several other local and better air conditioned bars. Have stomached the food there for the entertainment events but would not recommend to a friend. Honestly thankful that the event will be changing venues so I dont have to tolerate the poor management and sub par safety conditions
Listen. I really *want* to like this place. The atmosphere is nice, food is pretty good for the price, and they have a friendly staff. However; as friendly as they are, the service is not. good. It’s... terrible. (Friendly does not equal being hospitable).I’ve come the past couple weeks with friends and they are ~severely~ understaffed. Last week it took an hour to get my drink - because it was “on its way” and then because “another waiter took the drinks from the bar” and then they couldn’t even make anymore because they ran out of an ingredient. Nothing was offered in return, I just had to order another drink and wait.Mind you, I come for the drag shows that go from 8pm-10pm. The show is half over at this point. Why only one bartender on a night you know there’s going to be a lot of customers? Idk.Here we are, another week, another drag show. Bringing a friend who hasn’t attended yet, and gave him a quick warning on the service experience last week *praying* that the staff redeems themselves.Sure enough, everyone at my table received their drinks, and an hour later I’m still drink-less. (Why me again??)When I walk up to the bar to kindly ask the singular bartender, she just says it’s on its way. Meanwhile, people have figured out that it’s much faster to walk up and order from the bar rather than put in with waiters, so I’m watching people get their second, third drinks, while I’m just trying to get started.I ask her to just change my drink to something more simple since that must have been why it was taking so long. She says sure, but the drink still never shows up.Here we are... an hour in again. My friends are all hungry, our waitress did not come back once after taking our drink orders. She eventually shows up, we talk quickly about my missing drinks/exchange with the bartender, she apologizes, and grabs me somethingFast forward, it’s 9:30, our food arrives and we have like 20 minutes to quickly eat before they start promptly kicking people out. The check comes and it’s hundreds of dollars because we are a big party. I notice my initial drink on there so I bring it to our waitresses attention (see? remember the conversation we just had? This is that drink we discussed..)She goes to check with the bartender and says “well the bartender said this drink was sent out so we can’t take it off”....Honey.We just talked about this. Also no one has bussed our table the entire time so you can just look at the drinks on the table and see it did not come. (It was one of those obnoxious bucket drinks. I figured ordering a big drink would save me the headache of trying to order additional drinks. I was wrong.)Anyways, my friends all get mad *for* me and get into it with the waitress and manager. Like we’re not trying to pull a quick one here...it’s $15 off a tab that’s hundreds of dollars.Got asked on the way out “will you guys be coming back next week?” Here’s a hint: you shouldn’t have to ask. Makes us come back through good hospitality.TL;DR —This place needs more people working and a lesson in taking care of their customers.
Went for the first time this past Saturday for a birthday dinner. The cheesesteak eggrolls were good and my waitress was very nice.-Management and front door was unorganized and chaotic.-2 of the bouncers were cool the others were rude n difficult for no reason.-They have issues with reservations n organizing them.Next time Ill just go to a bar in the hood that serves food and not waste my time on this bar and grille
Went for overeasy brunch on a Sunday and when I went outside, it quickly reminded me of FL. Even a bit like Miami outdoor parties. The inside look just as cool but gave me a old school feel. Cant wait to go back to see what else they host there
I agree with Lilly. As a male I would prefer not to so see women dress this way as hostesses. It honestly made me uncomfortable too. I felt like I had walk into a strip club. Maybe just tone it down a bit. The ladies were pleasant and polite. Many of the regulars will be former club goers from the Coastline and former Top Dog. I would think that most of them are looking for a friendly, welcoming, familiar, and low key atmosphere. I like the music and also DJ Robbie Rob. There was a nice mix of old school and new school music. The bartenders in general where slow to get drinks out and rude honestly. I waited almost 15 minutes for a drink at 10 pm while the bar clearly was not crowded. Once I got my drink the bartender did not say thank you or ask what else I might want. Im not a massive fan of a $15 dollar cover but that is about average. So long as the music and atomosphere is right its fine. It was great to so familiar faces and see new people as well. All in all, I think it will be a great place to go dancing and socialize in South Jersey. .
Bad for Business! Went out with a group of friends on a Saturday Night. We put our name on the list with a call back number and was told the wait was 45mins. An hour went by with no call back so we decided to go to the bouncers to see what’s going on, They crossed our name off the list as if they called us and did not. Apparently they let a bigger group in instead of us. Than said if we purchase a bottle table we could be seated but if not we cannot get in because it was “filled to capacity”. Their professional is TERRIBLE!! A very bias place with a lot of discrimination in the atmosphere. Club is highly NOT recommend!!!!
VIP WAS HORRENDOUS! $$$ down the drain(I told the dude not to do it though). The white couches were disgusting and the padding was collapsing. The floor was dirty. The top of the couches had layers of dust. The light fixture had wiring issues and missing glass balls. The glass that bordered the VIP room itself looked as if it hadnt been cleaned for years....zero Windex. Obviously it has been a long a_ _ time since anyone has been in that particular section. Manager shows up an hour after I requested and had the nerve to say I should have said something earlier, this dude even agreed with me and still said that bs. Since he mentioned what should have been done earlier, I mentioned the area should have been cleaned EARLIER before we slid in there. Regardless. Wheres the adherence to a MINIMUM standard of clean and appropriate accommodations? Especially after agreeing that the money paid represents a step above. VIP??? Cmon VERA, that upper VIP with the white couches needs to be renovated. Took money for an above average experience and failed at the basics. Should be embarrassed. You didnt deliver a viable product.
Had a great time. The band on the 1st level was good they even had the crowd up on their feet dancing singing and enjoying there set. The second level was amazing I felt like I was at a club in New York.definitely would recommend this place to anyone or any age group.
I’ve never had a care free visit to Vera’s. The food and music is great, but the service is awful. The wait is long. One time I waited 4 hours for a table, another time I waited so long the restaurant just never called back.I recently visited the outdoor patio and requested a heater because it’s 20 degrees outside. The hostess was refusing to give us heat. She finally gave in and threw a 7 foot gas lit heater at the table and stormed off. Very unprofessional.
I went here last night! I ordered 3 fish bowls and a jolly rancher! Total 65.00Bill came was 82.00! Wth why is my check 82.00? Because the Bartender Gina added a 20percent tip without my knowledge!! No where does it state that they will add their own tip! She was definitely robbing ppl that went to thos establishment an she was not the only one doing this the guy up stairs did as well! So the ppl running this place is robbing their customers without their knowledge! I can only imagine how many ppl got taken for extra money without looking at their receipt! I will not be going back their again! What a shame because the drink was the only thing I did actually enjoy there!
Yesterday I celebrated my 35th at Vera and had an amazing time, the food was very good, was surprised of the large portions served,Great drinks, Waiters were attentive and friendly, the lady in the restroom kept everything sanitized and was very pleasant, the crowd was great.Great Great experience, looking forward to going back
This location has went through changes over the past and I believe Vera is a winner. The place is beautiful and its a really big place. Theres pool billiards which gets fun and live band events. The atmosphere is nice too. Saturday night, there is a club upstairs and the music is awesome. Its a really great club to go with your friends. Toast!
Four of us came here to have fun and they charged us $25 each to get in but would not allow one of my friend in the club because he had sweat pants on. when we complained to a staff, he said wait at the bar we will refund you. But we waited an hour, then when we went to see the manager named Jay Beacon he rudely said we cant refund any money. I have been serving in the active duty military for last 17 years and been to many places ..I havent dealt with a highway robbery like this ever. They shouldnt have charged us for club entry if sweat pants arent allowed in the first place. Please dont go to this at all, its a money trap, everything is unnecessarily expensive and attitude of the staff is unprofessional.
The Bouncer was rude and probably because he was shorter than myself and everyone I came there with. Hassled us about walking out the venue to ensure the rest of our party knew where to come, by telling us there’a no more re-entry, if we walk out again, even though we paid our cover fee and received a stamp on our hand to indicate that.
Upstairs DJ had zero variety. Just the most hood music the entire time. No re entry so you cant even take left overs to the car. Unless you’re someone else ( like people mentioned before they are choosy ). Cover charge too pricey for what you get. Vera very fail.
Love Veras establishment especially the outdoor patio and bar! Bartender Santiago is A+ with service and personality as I can say the same for everyone I have interacted with over there! The food is so good- highly recommend the cobb salad and the mussels!!! Grown folk would enjoy the atmosphere early afternoon on a Saturday because the 20 something crowd pile in towards the evening. Great spot to kick it for 2 hours given the time limit due to Covid restrictions.
We had a work happy hour here. The staff was friendly and answered any questions. The food was what youd expect from a bar. The wings were delicious. While it was a Thursday, there didnt seem to be more than ten other people in the entire place. I would only go back with a group.
They have u pay at the door depending on how many people are inside we paid 30 dollars and went upstairs and back out the door in ten minutes upstairs overrated its small and they charge u to sit down its a no for me I wanted my money back. Maybe the summer is better for the outside
I asked them about having nights for older people since every night since they reopened has been a young crowd. When the business was open for inside dining/dancing, the first floor seem to cater to the older generation where the upstairs catered to a younger crowd.Who ever is answering their social media messages needs to be fired. Very rude and not even trying to see a customers point of view or keep a customer. They said older people prefer to stay home then come out. Which is so not true and is discriminating. Then they blocked me on their instagram page. I will never go back to your business again unless you can seem to care about your customers and cater to call.
They do a great job. food is good, drinks are strong, great service and a decent price. But i cant understand what going on here? is this a club or a restaurant? if its a club its boring, if its a restaurant its noisy. lol. no dancefloor?
Very unusual to not be able to be seated as a single person because I have a party coming later. As a manager in the business, there is one golden rule! Make sure your customer is happy and if it’s possible, make it to a “Yes”.I don’t feel like this establishment appreciates its patrons as it should.
We had a summer get together of co-workers. Hospitality was excellent from the door to our hostess. The band jammed and the mature crowd enjoyed themselves dancing drinking and eating. The food was superb with a diverse menus. I would rate Vera Bar and Grill a ten.
I like the spot pretty okay. Just went after work for some drinks, they didnt have anything that I could safely eat. But the bartenders were super nice and I had a great time kicking butt at pool. They do have some really good bands there on some evenings. Id recommended it.
I have had my share places to visit for a good night out. The drinks are always good bartenders are always nice. The music is a hit or miss. Do not go here planning on updated music. Definitely a place to go if you just need anything to do.
The food was good but the Customer Service left something to be desired. I wouldnt say horrible, but only one step above horrible. We called to reserve for 12 people to have dinner, the table reservation was together but we sat for over 25 mins for a server. When we stopped others who went to every table but ours, their response was the same, this isnt our table! Finally one did stop and told us it wasnt her table, but Im going to take care of you. First time here (I live in NC, but from NJ) and definitely my last!!!
I arrived early for dinner. The food was just okay. I selected the salmon entree with rice and asparagus. The salmon was dry asparagus was mushy but the jasmine rice was good. Although I was interested in gaging the music and dancing on a Friday night, I left pretty early as there was no dancing by 10:00pm and nothing else to keep my attention.
This place is horrible. Management wants you buy a bottle or a table ($350) before entering the night life club scene. I arrived alone and just wanted to party. I was told if I didn’t buy a bottle and drink it I could not participate in the night life. How unsafe is drinking an entire bottle of alcohol alone and then have to drive home. I wanted to spend about $150 that night, but since I refused to spend $350 Vera didn’t get any money from me that day. I’m sure others made the same decision(which isn’t a hard one) to just walk way and spend money elsewhere. Not coming back until they drop that rule👀🙄
Atmosphere, music, crowd, made it a four star. Food & drinks were good. But service, not so much. It was borderline mediocre...3 star. We waited for roughly an hour for our food.
I like this place... Ok so I was only there for a short amount of time, with a large group. Im talking 20+ people. They did their best to accommodate us, & the vibe was good. The menu has a great selection & the drinks are good.
It’s always a vibe at this place and the food is always 10/10.
Good food, nice atmosphere. Went with my family to get a quick bite. I wasnt expecting 20% gratuity to be included in my check, especially since my service wasnt 20% worthy. I am usually a good tipper but it would be appreciated if it was mentioned on the menu.
I came to Vera’s tonight to eat, drink and mingle. The food was okay and probably the only thing worth the visit, however I would not return just for food. I came upstairs to the club and stood at the bar for 30mins while the bartender served all around me without acknowledging me once. Then after I became aggravated was I noticed. I asked her for a hooka and she stated I can’t get it rite now. Oh really after I’ve waited for you over 35 mins. A joke. I could go somewhere else spend way less money and be treated much better! Never again.
Awesome experience! We celebrated my sisters 50th birthday here last Friday night, it was live music, which was an awesome band, great food and drinks, and people up on the dance floor, great atmosphere, mixed crowd, people very friendly and the service was excellent! Anita took care of our reservation and made sure we were happy with everything. Definitely recommend, will be back!
Fun place on a Friday night. DJ playing, drinks flowing, had dinner and drinks. The staff was pleasant and welcoming. Oh yes, you can also enjoy the Hookah bar.
Went to this venue for L.A.M.A. had an amazing time.
I went to this bar and was having a decent time, watching my Texas softball (post season super regional) game on their big TV. Less than a half hour later, the game was changed to a baseball (non post season) game. I asked for it to be put back on and the waitress said yes she would get it back on but instead I got ignored and my request was disregarded. This softball game couldve been put onto any other TV that I couldve seen and I wouldve been happy as oppose to having to go back onto my phone to watch it. But, they didnt do that. My main reason for being annoyed is because if it was a mens baseball game or mens basketball game I wanted to be put on, it wouldve been put on with no problem. I guess softball super regionals arent important? Especially when easily accessible on ESPN2? Terrible time.
The downstairs was worth it. The live band Latin music was on point. But for them to charge 25.00 dollars to go upstairs was not worth the cost. And it was not crowded at all if you wanna have good people to come charge 15.00 -25.00 dollars is to much. It was more guys then girls. But I only came to dance bachata Salsa and merengue. So I really appreciated the live band. But do charge 25.00. Only if you have and main attraction like boxing or the super bowl or the NBA championship. Not on a regular night. Unacceptable to charge that much. And plus after I went outside I have to see someone fight and argue.
Had my birthday there in September outside and it was lit-lit🔥🔥 had a really good time! Good energy, staff was nice, music was cool, and hookah was on point. Would definitely recommend this spot especially for the outside deck.
The staff do their best, but at the end of the day the club just feels tacky. The floors are sticky, the music is too loud, the playlist is iffy, the bathrooms aren’t kept clean. If you live in the area and you want a real club experience, just take the train into Philly.
Great place I dont attend often but when I go its aways a nice crowd and nice atmosphere especially on the deck. You can sèe the crowd is younger and the cigars smoke can be a little too much as well, but i enjoy myself every time I go back..
Good food! Nice friendly atmosphere! Jamming music! Was there Fri.8/25/18 and had an awesome time ! Outside deck was packed and inside was a Live band playing and singing goood music! This was my first visit and will be back Monday for Oldies night!😀
They tried to make us pay for 2 bottles to sit outside on the deck. You have to buy 1 bottle to sit outside after 8. We got there at 730 and wanted us to buy 2 bottles of liquor at $400 a piece. So we wouldve spent $800 to get.in there before we even got our food. Probably after getting food it wouldve been $1000 bill. It was only 7 of us and by the this is Cherry Hill not New York. We decided to sit in the restaurant area I stead 9f paying the rediculous tab of $800 for liquor(oh by the way we didnt tell them what type of liquor we wanted they automatically said it would be $400 a peice). So we was eating taking multiple shots of liquor and beer having a good time. Then boom 2 hrs into it we are told we have to leave because our time is over there. So we left. This place has always been on some different stuff every simce it was Top Dog. This will be my last time going there as well as well as the people I went there with. The server was good though so was taking multiple orders from 7 different ppl and she always got the order right. Round of applause for her (I forget her name). Overall experience very bad outrageous prices just to have a good time in Cherry Hill, rediculous!!!!
Vera was everything. I had a ball for it to be my first time attending. This most definitely will be my go to spot when I hang out
I had amazing experience at Vera cherry hill. Great vibe. The crowd was very diverse. I love the music. Bartender drinks were worth the price. over all great customer experience. I do not typically post a review but for this experience I had to share !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Made reservations for their outside seating due to COVID-19.We were seated right away and informed that we had 2hrs due to limited seating outside. We began vibing immediately with the music that was playing and the energy in the place (think a lot of people are just happy to go out). We ordered a hookah and a Hennessy bowl (fruity drink w/Henny). The drink was good but had entirely too much ice.I came for some drinks with friends and good music. They did have food but I can’t remember what was ordered.Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and would return.
For a bill for one person that pays a cover charge 🤔🤔🤔🤔 an auto tip in my bill is not necessary. Most places places charge that to a bill with 3 really 4 or more guests without them paying a cover charge ….. it’s 2023 we can do better
I was at Vera lastnight the waiter was rude I had a party of 11 and spent over $500. She had a attitude every time we asked about the food then the food came out it was not right overall it was just a mess lastnight. I’ve been here before and it was no where near as horrible as it was yesterday.
Great place to party, with rock, reggae or Latin music. The issue I believe is not cool, is charging of additional cover charges if you want to check out the Latin music side. It didnt make any sense to me other than taking advantage of the more trafficked area. Seems like the management is being greedy for additional $$$.
The service was horrible to say to the least. Our food took over 60 minutes to prepare while we were the second table to be seated after opening. My selection was not prepared to my satisfaction and when asked to speak with a manger, he stated that he was a vegan. Upon speaking to the general manager, he advised me that there was nothing he could do. Perhaps adequate training in cusomer service is need to ensure all management has the proper training for the restaurant industry. As a solution, we were offered shots, however what he failed to realize was that we were not millennials and we have a certain expectation when dining. I look forward to hearing from Samir as his response should be interesting.
Chill but fun atmosphere the food and drinks were good. The music was good too. A lil expensive. Also they add gratuity, not a problem just a heads up.
Theres always a good crowd here. The cover charge was $5 or $10 but its gone up to $25 which sucks but it is becoming a more popular venue. They have downstairs which has a deck and people usually chat and watch sporting events down there ...I think they offer hookah down there as well... they have an upstairs which has the dance floor and 3 or four TVS for those that still want to watch sporting events... the floor is kinda small but it isnt too bad... the dj is hit or miss but I believe they rotate djs as in on a nightly basis.... its a pretty cool place.
Bartender(black female during Superbowl) awesome!! Ordered Granny apple dessert, it had refrigerator taste like it had been kept too long & I asked for it very hot it came out refrigerator cold!!Ordered wings extra crispy, they came out room temp as though they had been cooked earlier ( no wings come out in less then 6mins fried xtra crispy)!!!! Atmosphere was great, but you have to be able to keep patrons eating/drinking to wanna stay!!!
Great place with amazing food and a spectacular atmosphere!!!
For Mother’s Day, I surprised my mother and her mother (my nani) with the Mean Girls Show! My mom has always loved RuPaul’s Drag Race, when I tell you she’s watched every season. I told them to wear pink, but they didn’t know why lol. When we sat down at our table I told them what we were here for, and my mom started crying! My nani says, “I don’t know how you’ll top this Mother’s Day!” This was all our first time at a drag show, and we had such an amazing time watching all of the Queens absolutely KILLLLLLL AND SLAYYYY that performance of Mean Girls! So funny, so talented, so personable, and absolutely gorgeous. Our server was wonderful as well and the food and drinks were sooo delicious. Thank you all so much for making this day one to remember for my mother, my nani, and I.
Good food. However, watch when getting drinks and paying Any type of bill. With one drink... The bartenders add a tip automatically. If you get a round of drinks, the tip is automatically in the bill. I didnt think that was allowed unless you had a party of 8 or more. These bartenders did it with one drink for one person. Its unknown if the establishment knows this is going on or not. I dont think that is right.
Great food, drinks and our waitress was AMAZING! I was there for my brothers birthday party on April 12th.There were several disappointments. 1 . The areas my brothers girlfriend reserved for his party werent reserved. Creating friction with patrons who were asked move from the areas. 2. Veras should invest in black patio cushions or have theyre current ones professionally cleaned before putting them out for the season. They are DISGUSTING!! 3. The deck isnt safe for women wearing heels. The planks are separated and ladies were getting their heels caught. Were considering coming back for cigar Sundays. I will be wearing jeans in order to sit on those dirty cushions.
Me And my girlfriends went to Veras Bar and Grille on Saturday night to have a good time and a good time is exactly what we had. There was a lot of people there and the dj was playing the best music all night long. Everyone was dancing and having a great time. Although it seemed crowded, the bartenders still made sure to keep up with the crowd and get drinks to us quickly. All of the bartenders were smiling and friendly and seemed to enjoy working. We danced all night and we will be making this our new spot for the weekends! Finally we have a great club to come to in our area.
I didnt like that I could only have a table outside if I did bottle service. Not everyone drinks alcohol when they go out. My food took a long time to come to the table. This is a nice place they just have to work on some things.
I went here to celebrate my girlfriends birthday. The bartender on the deck was awesome. We enjoyed the pomegranate hookah which was great. We also had the bangin shrimp which is delicious. Great people find and party atmosphere on the 2nd floor after 10:00 p.m..
Would give no stars if I could, this place is gross. When we were walking up, the parking lot smelled like marijuana and there was a girl throwing up in the grass. Once upstairs (which was at 30% capacity on a Saturday) the bartender charged me a different price for the same drink every time. The upstairs bathroom was smaller than most diners and smelled like a sewer. The downstairs had a band playing but there was only 2 wasted couples dancing. My girlfriend got groped while walking to the dance floor and when we looked at the bouncers (who were watching the entire time) they shrugged their shoulders like they couldnt do anything. On the dance floor, we got pushed all night by drunk people (trust me it was not packed) while we were in a secluded corner trying to dance. At the end of the night while we were leaving, there was 3 different groups of people yelling and trying to start fights with each other outside. If you are into sleazy establishments, then Vera is your calling.Edit: This place tries to be upscale but their patrons are all either little college kids on drugs or from the gang signs being thrown up on the dance floor... Gang members.
The place was dead but they still charged 10 dollar cover to me but not the people who went in a few minutes before me. If I wasnt meeting people there I would have left. Only reason for 2 star is the waitress was very nice. Crowd there also pretty shady. Go to Adelphias.
Nice crowd but the staff is horrible and the food was bad. We had bottles so I cannot comment on the drinks. The DJ was good and had the place going. Nice outdoor atmosphere.
Saturday night outing, food was average. Upstairs club was crowded, overall played ok music but not to everyone likeling. First floor after life entertainment played good dance music. Asked kindly one of the stuff guys that was on a floor to up volume a little bit . After two kindly requests he Ultimate ignored customer by not doing anything. Not coming back to this one for sure. Too may good clubs in Philly to waste your money on ignorance.
Dont try to use a Localflavor voucher! Apparently eating at the bar does not quality as dining in. I guess I was dining out?? No manager on site to talk to, the bartender had to call him on the phone. I even called on the phone later and asked to speak with him and was told um hes in a meeting. I said I would call back later and was told hed be unavailable until the next day. Very unprofessional. The voucher specifically stated that you must dine in, not valid for take out. I did just that and was still not allowed to use it. Maybe it should say that you can not sit at the bar!
They are LIARS AND THIEVES AND WE HAVE THE PROOF! And instead of lying and stealing, they covered it up- POORLY. Then when I spoke out about it, they blocked me. 9 of us, each having MULTIPLE pages and TONS of viewers/supporters? We’ll get the word out. My legal aide said to speak out about it as much as possible because it’ll show A. They’re being informed and just ignoring B. They did in fact lie and will not face the music without the proof & C. Will have lawyers to get them out of their “minor jam”. Good thing lawyers can get you out of a jam, but social media gets you in one. The loud outcry on how we paid more than what was EXPLAINED TWICE OVER THE PHONE, jipped, lied to and stolen from… once it reaches a certain number of people, they’ll see and know Vera bar is just in it for the money. The overpriced EVERYTHING. We went to support and have fun… didn’t expect to walk away being robbed twice.
