Best staff in downtown Macon! Drinks are beyond fairly priced and the atmosphere is perfect. Dart tourneys, trivia karaoke live music this place really does have it all. If Dahlia is working behind the bar then you’re guaranteed to have a kickass night!

Great place to grab a beer and listen to some of the best music in Macon. They have darts and cornhole to play if you dont care for great music. The bartenders are great mixologists, listen well, and are fun to cut up with. They have no food here but you can order from nearby restaurants like we did. Overall, they book some great bands and they have drink specials throughout the weekdays.

I love the laid back atmosphere of this bar! Its a great place to meet friends and Co-mingle with other folks of different races without anyone judging. There is always mixed groups of folks hanging out here .

Cool place for a cold beer. Lots of old memorabilia in the place, on the walls, everywhere. Friendly staff. Havent tried the food if there is any but the beer on draft was cold.

We were there during the day. There were only about 5 other people there. Music didnt start until 10 pm I love the historical building and copper beer tappers. I tried to ingage the bartender about the age but she either didnt know or care to discuss the history. She was friendly but not engaging. The outside of the building was interesting. I would have loved to hear live music but parking meters are limited time, and very hard to find a spot.

Went to emo night, just got back from it actually. It was a great time besides all the cigarettes being smoked and blown in your face. I kid you not, they just let everyone smoke it down INSIDE no issues, you just light up and blow it in everyones faces. I used to go here all the time when I turned 18 thru 21 and it was never like this. People would go outside to smoke or even vape. Now at 29 they just dont care. Employees behind the bar smoke cigarettes, guest smoke cigarettes. Id give them a 0 star if I could

Eeeh, drinks are good. Could be a bit more clean if u ask me. Especially bathroom. Bartenders are nice and professional. Cleanliness is big for me. I understand it gets busy, but that means there is enough revenue to hire ppl that constantly clean throughout the evening.

Service and Drinks were great. Band was ok. Hard to socialize when you cant talk to the person next to you. Need to have a more control environment with drinks, live background music and food. If your young its probably a better environment for you.

Always a good time with friendly people. Just know that whatever you wear is going to smell like cigarette smoke when you leave. To me its worth it once in a while to enjoy a local watering hole.

Horrible!!! Tried to call owner several times!! Was pushed down to the ground on concrete in heels and dress on my birthday waiting in line to enter by people breaking the line !! Has the class of people changed? Security should have found them and put them out! Really sucks, been going there for years as traditional event because it use to be such a nice place and nice guest, hope owner sees this and helps the next lady that gets pushed down trying to enter business. PS— I was not the only 58 year old in the place either!!!!! BUSINESSES TAKE CARE OF YOUR PATRONS.

Update: I still go. I like the staff. They are always friendly. I feel safe there tooI like the ambience. Service was excellent, people were nice and the drinks were strong. They have kareoke on Wednesdays and its very fun and the crowd is encouraging. All ages and races mingled together.

Bartender was super nice, knowledgeable and on her game!! She knew a lot about the different drinks they have available including a variety of beers!! Clientele that night varied in ages, races, and enjoyed talking with several other patrons.

First time here with my wife, great place. It is a bar with hard wood floors and the prices for the drinks are priced right. This is a place to stop and have a drink. The live bands are great, came here when Hill Country Revival played. Great time, I hope you enjoy the place and give it an honest try.Went back with some friends to just enjoy a place to drink and mess around.

I cant go here but maybe you can. It is a great bar. The atmosphere is very cool with live music. The crowd is diverse, drinks are good, and the prices are reasonable.The only problem is the smoke. It was really heavy the night we visited. I guess all the smokers hang out there because they allow it. I tried to stay because I really love this place other than that. I guess it has been a lot of years with clean air and it is too hard to go back. It is disappointing.If you can tolerate smoke, this place is great. The owners should open another just like it for non-smokers. There are a lot more of us these days.

Worst service I’ve had. Waited over 20 minutes for a drink. And never got one. People came in behind me a were served quickly. Worst place I’ve ever been to in that area.

You go to a Library to find a book; you go to The Hummingbird to find a good time. And if you cannot find a good time; you werent looking for one in the first place.

Great place, great bands, great people. Ive never been disappointed. This place is often packed but the wait times on drinks are 1-2 minutes tops. All the staff are very friendly and they have the best drink prices in town. It can be standing room only and the atmosphere is still laid back. 10/10 will visit again.

Owner was super rude, tried to charge me incorrectly, and wouldn’t listen when I tried to tell him what I was asking for. He threw all my drinks away in my face. just lost a well known regular due to not knowing how to make a drink. Do better. The Customer is always right! Update: To the rude person who responded check your employee telling people he’s the owner not me. Love how you didn’t comment on the rude employee or anything else I complained about.

In my opinion I think this would be a great hangout spot for people who like to go to bars have a drink and a good time. They have I large area for dancing and a big bar. They also have darts and a chalk board to keep up with the scores when you play. The only downside for me and possibly others is the inside smoking. I cant be around cigarettes due to sinus surgery so it messed up my sinuses. If you do not like cigarette smoke or cant be around it, then this place is not for you. But if you are good with it then by all means stop by and have a good time.

It was very chill and laid back. Band could have been set up way before hand but for what it was the place was pleasant and would definitely go back. Bartender was on point for making random drinks for the night!

Great bar with an even better atmosphere. I love the patio they have out back, great for if youre not a smoker like myself. The bartenders can make you any drink under the sun and if they do t know they will look it up. And on saturdays they have live bands who are generally pretty good. Its an all-around good time at The Hummingbird.

The Hummingbird is a jewel of a place in Macons charming downtown. The vibe is kinda junkyard chic, but the place is clean and well cared for. A large courtyard with tables and benches out back hosts a secondary bar for those interested in being in a quieter spot than the main room and its stage. Smoking is allowed, free darts line an entire wall. Great selection of beer as well as mixed drinks.. Didnt notice any food, but we were there for the live music anyway. Met a lot of people so it seemed like a pretty friendly crowd. Got away with some cool band posters to add to my collection. I plan on going back next time Im in Macon.

Im not really a bar person, but they make great drinks here and often have good drink specials. The bartenders are very quick even when its busy and they dont play favorites like some lounges around here do (looking at you, Recess).Its majority white, but not unwelcoming to non-white visible minorities. (I have to add that, because this is still Mid GA and race relations seem to be about 40 years behind everywhere else.) That being said, I prefer lounges and different music, but if your taste leans toward live bands and rock music you may wanna check it out.They allow cigarette smoke inside and that can be irritating to the senses.

Atlantaaaaa, ILY! SHES THE BEST BARTENDER! Srsly. And theres always a mixed crowd, mixed music and mixed vibes for everyone to find something to wiggle to here. I love that the most.

Great bar, they have excellent drink deals during the weekdays and often have live music on the weekends. They tend to play more blue grass, rock and roll, and country music. This is not a club and not much dancing takes place here, instead the hummingbird focuses more on a good comfortable and fun bar atmosphere. Wednesdays are the best, they do 2 for one shooter deals and have karaoke, both basically guarantee a fun night out with friends.

My friend brought me here for the first time. I had a blast, the drinks were awesome! The only negative is the lack of ventilation and the smoking inside was overwhelming. I had trouble breathing at times so I couldnt fully enjoy myself. I would come on a regular basis, but as a Pre- med student, I know 2nd hand smoke is just as deadly. I wish they would enforce a no smoking ban and designate the outside areas for smokers. If they do, I dont think they would lose any business because this is a popular and fun spot.

Been one of my favorite spots for 6 years. Nice college crowd, everybodys friendly, RARELY a fight (ive only seen one in 6 years here) drinks are priced great and the bartenders Cole and Mike are by far the best Ive seen in Georgia.

I absolutely love the Bird! The Bartenders are amazing and extremely friendly. Always good conversations to be had and great drink specials. My dogs also enjoy going because they get to run around out back till 8pm!

My sister and I came here for our first anniversary celebrating 25 years of familyhood. The bar was really nice and the bartender was really cool. The mens room was cleaner than what I got at home and the birds flying around in the bar were pretty darn nice. I would recommend this place to anyone looking for a chill spot after Wednesday night church service. They serve handhelds ala sandwiches, lady fingers and red velvet cake slices. They validate parking for those who were wondering. Go check it out now!

Always a great place to play and listen to music. Darts, great drinks, great people. Andrew Leidle is a great guy/talent buyer and their sound system and sound engineer is always super nice and helpful. I always have a great time when I’m here!

As far as local music venues go this place is the place. The quality has gone slightly down music wise. In the summer there is a back patio that has a bar in the winter they pretty much close down the patio though. You can go out there but theres no heating

The atmosphere was great but when I got to the bar,I noticed that the bartender would completely skip over me,and only waiting on the white customers,once he was done o had to signal to him that I wanted a drink, although I had been waiting with my money in hand to let him know Id like a drink. When I asked him was everything ok his response was, Im trying to make all the money i can as I was placing my order he walked away to other white customers and proceeded to take their order then returning back to me asking me oh what was it you wanted I ordered my friends drink and then I left. Apparently African Americans dont spend money!!!!! Ill NEVER go back to this place ever AGAIN!!!!!! So disrespectful and non professional service

This is very nice quaint little place to have fun hanging out with friends. The outside bar with seating is excellent! It has fencing surrounding it to keep passerby’s out. Bartenders were super nice and attentive.

I was warned that the smoke is absolutely unbearable by locals but I wanted to see some live music while making a blues tour through the South. The band ended up once the sound issues were cleaned up being good. The kids could have cared less about the music and the smoke was horrible. Too bad as there are so few venues that show case bands.

This was the first dive bar I have ever been in. When I first walked in I was like this is what a bar looks like. The live music is hit or miss but at least they book a lot of local bands. One suggestion I would make is having then make it a non-smoking bar again. Thats my biggest complaint. The smoke will stay on your clothes for days.

Only joint worth going to in middle Georgia! Great atmosphere, nice outdoor area, good service and prices. Ive caught some great shows here! Need more southern rock, funky, jam band type shows, after all we are home of The Allman Brothers Band. My go to place for a night on the town.

Always a good time when I come here. If there is a band, it will be extremely loud, so be prepared for that. Wednesday night karaoke is super fun. Cant beat the cheap PBR (I think it was $2 on draft). Would be 5 stars, but the smoking indoors is pretty awful. I fully support smokers rights, but it does get a little too much for me if Im there too long. Always have to immediately wash my clothes when I get home after an evening at The Bird.

I dont go here every weekend, but I frequent this place maybe 2 times a month. There was a bar tender last night that I have never seen before. She has blonde hair and was wearing a red shirt and red lip stick. Thats the best bar tender me and my ole lady have ever experienced with this place. I have had experiences with some here where I have way over paid for the pour of liquor they give you or Ive even had it poured where it was way too much liquor/mix ratio. You could definitely tell that this girl had mixologist experience. Every single drink she made my ole lady and her friend was great

Popular local dive bar. Wonderful people, great music and a wonderful back patio. They do allow smoking inside, so that may be a turn off for many people, myself included.

It is an okay chill spot, they have karaoke on today. The drinks are reasonably price. I like that they have dart boards. Good clean environment.

Had our first show at The Hummingbird last night. What an amazing place! From the moment we got there, there was nothing but love from all the staff and patrons. The vibes in that place are unbelievably warm and welcoming. And we cant wait to return! Dont miss out on checking this place out if you end up nearby!

Nice bands, awesome drink specials throughout the week, cool bartenders, and occasional activities in the heart in downtown Macon. The only downside is the heavy cigarette smoke smell for those like myself who dont smoke.

I was there Saturday night to see the Selwyn Birchwood band. The band is phenomenal, high energy and great blues!!! The place had a good crowd, friendly service and nice outdoor patio in back. I had a situation where a drunk customer started to touch me, I asked him TWICE not to and then I located an awesome employee who I explained the situation to and within one minute the security guard took this man out of the bar!! I was impressed by the speed of which they responded. The Hummingbird is a fun local place, I drove from Atlanta to see the band!! I would gladly return! And kudos and thanks to the awesome employee ( I did not get his name but he had a blue shirt and a man bun atop his head LOL!!!!

The Hummingbird is my favorite bar in Macon. It has a great atmosphere, a surprising selection of beer and is definitely the best live venue in this area. Ask for the Black and Tan then finish off with a 420 while listening to live music in historic downtown Macon.

I had so much fun here. The jagerbombs were two for one. Obviously that led to some poor choices, but thats the consequences of drinking jagerbombs. Everyone was so friendly, and the bartender was quick with your drink order.

If you want to go to a bar thats loud and has nothing but a bunch of Frat Boys and sorority girls hanging around and nothing but generic bands playing then this is the place for you. It is everything panic attacks are made of for introverted people. Real Nightmare fuel. Its a college party wrapped thinly in a psuedo hipster shroud. Its as though someone tried to replicate the Jinx in Savannah but forgot what they were doing about 23 feet or so in. Its not my thing; but if youre into these things go right ahead.

Friendly environment. Workers are personable. Just wish that they had waiters and waitresses that took your drink orders when youre outside.

Ive always liked coming here for the live music and ambiance. I dont know if I will be returning. They were very unpleasant to my friend - he thinks it was because he is gay.

Great location, huge selection of alcohol and friendly servers. PA system for the band was setup perfect and the decor really tied the room together.

Honestly theres plenty that could be improved here. Theres no reason it needs to have music blasting all the time hindering communication and tainting the atmosphere. This isnt a club. Other than that I dont really have many complaints at all.

They have great drink special going through the week. Darts and corn hole offered there also. A good option for a group of close friends.

Not my kind of place because smoking is allowed. Wont be going back.
