This place rocks when Just Gio is DJ/VJ-ing! I love how he hooks up TVs with the music videos, it really sets the vibe! The place itself is really cool, decorated all the way to the ceiling! Drinks are good and priced fairly - shout out to the bartenders!!!

No menu. no cocktails. smells like cigarettes. bottled beer only. tiny as hell. why am I here? has a live band I guess? even if a good band played, theres 4 chairs besides the bar and room for like 20 people standing tops. good luck.best suited for the newly 21.

We had such a great time! They had some great rock bands, and the place was packed. It was such a good vibe. The bartenders were fabulous. The drinks were delicious. They were pricey, but thats the norm on Miami Beach. Parking can be a challenge, but we will definitely be back!

If you are looking for a bar with a fun, playful, funky vibe. This is everywhere you want to be. A few friends & I stopped in here late during Happy Hour. They had $3 beers! You really cant beat that. The decor is very eclectic! You will enjoy looking at everything. The band they had in that evening was absolutely great & kept the joint jumping. Definitely recommend a stop here!

Entertaining dive bar with interesting decor.The Draft beer selection consisted of one offering which wasnt recommended. Service was friendly and a good selection of well drinks available.

This little bar just off Collins Ave has the best god dam music playing every time we go there. And we go there a couple times every year after ultra music festival and Mismi music week. Sound system is banging. DJ’a off the hook. Drinks are good value. Staff are cool. Crowd here are great.

I popped in for karaoke while on a business trip and Im soo glad I did. The bartenders were friendly. The crowd was a lot of fun. The atmosphere was chill. If I ever find myself in miami again I will be here for sure.

Thought this was a really cool bar, we were there during the curfew for spring break, wish we could have hung out here longer! It was really fun to see live bands versus all the clubs that arent my scene.

One of the better places on South Beach, a proper bar, great music, you can smoke inside- proper civilized! Its a very good crowd here super chill good people lot of cool tourists mixed in with a solid local crowd. Will definitely come back again. (Check out CuisineQuest on youtube, you wont regret it!)

We ended up in this bar by accident and I’m so glad we did! It’s a dive bar but I definitely loved the atmosphere and the music. Karloz, the bartender made us delicious drinks especially his Bloody Mary’s. He was such a vibe that we ended up coming to the bar again the following night.

Best low key bar, slightly separated from the main area of Española way. The bar tender Karlos lives up to his reputation, made everyone in our group laugh and knows how to make a great drink. Overall loved the atmosphere of the place and there are plenty of places to sit and stand even for the size of the place. I cannot wait to come back for karaoke night

This place seemed cool but I felt immediately uncomfortable. The bartender passed my drink to men before me and wouldn’t give me a new one. I threw it away and left.

Karloz!!!! That’s it, that’s all!!! This bar was such a vibe, but Karloz made it 10474849 times better!! He had the most wholesome stories to tell and was so funny. Made us out-of-towners feel so at home it was literally torture to have to leave 😆 Just “wish he played more dance music.” 🤣 (inside joke). Seriously go see him, bartenders like him make the best memories.

Came to Miami Beach for a little vacation. Stumbled across this place and it ended up being one my favorite bars of all time. Excellent service and drink prices. The DJs here are the best!

What happened to Friday’s Drag Night? This was a great way to start my South Beach weekend, but we walked in and no show and the bar was pretty empty. We had one drink and left, we saw a few others do the same. New owners? :(

They are so kind and fun and the environment is TOP NOTCH, artsy and cool, definitely a hole in the wall you don’t want to miss!!!!! I saw the bartender using gloves to dispense pre-cut limes into the garnish tray… which tells me they used gloves to cut them as well. This is SO IMPRESSIVE and important for cross contamination. It tells me how clean they are and how much they care for their clients! And that was just the start of how awesome they are. 15/10, definitely recommend!!!

Went for the first time on a karaoke night and it was amazing! I went alone but didnt feel alone. Carlos was an amazing, fun and helpful bar tender and Auntie was the best MC! such a great time!

So much fun! We went for Drag Friday and had a blast! It’s conveniently located and had awesome drink specials. The drag performers were incredible, and Karloz, the bartender, was honestly a performer in himself! He was amazing, the drinks were great, great music selection, and awesome drag. Couldn’t have had more fun if I tried!

Karaoke Thursday was SO fun! You need to check it out!! The people there dont judge you for being not the best singer, everyone is welcome there. I did really enjoy the vibes.

I went to this bar last night. I think it would’ve been better if I didn’t open a tab. After ordering our first round of drinks I asked the bar tender if I could open a tab. He took my credit card. Nothing uncommon. When I went to close the tab he claimed he gave my credit card back to me. Then belittled me and treated me like I was stupid. He said “I’m not the one who has been drinking you are”. He claimed he only had one card with a tab and it wasn’t mine. Once he could see I was coherent and not backing down that he had my card it appeared out of thin air. I just wonder how many people come in and get their card stolen from this guy when they’re intoxicated. The take away from this. If you go here make sure you don’t open a tab.

Small but FUN! The performers are good, but the decor and the bartender, Carloz, will blow your mind! He is the king/queen of multi-tasking! Sit tight honey, even though he doubles as the show host, you will get your drink fast. It was fun just watching him. His wit cuts like a well sharpened knife. You cant tip him enough, hes worth so much more! Dont miss this FABULOUS bar!

Out of towner who felt right at home! Carlos is AMAZING! One of the best bartenders Ive ever seen on the job. No one had to wait for a drink. This is a great dive bar with all different kinds of people. Prices are what they are in South Beach, but the specials are always an option. Wednesday night was ladies night and they drink for free 10-2. If I ever come back, this is the only place I will be going to. Such a great bar.

Karloz is the best bartender. Great drinks for cheap, late happy hour. Always popping, cool drag and burlesque shows. Even have events like gaming competitions/art shows. The upstairs is usually a bit quieter if you want to talk.

I love Kill Your Idol! It’s right next to Lost Weekend so the fun never ends! I love getting away and just spending the night with friends and great beer! I love ladies nights on Wednesday’s! Karloz has to be one of the coolest bartenders I have ever met. Cool place that is more dive bar and less Miami club. No cover and half price from 8-10pm.It’s also connected to another bar that has pool tables and you can take drinks between them!

One of the best karaoke nights I’ve been to. The KJ and the staff are incredibly friendly, the drinks were decently priced. The vibe is a little hole in the wall I’m the best way possible.

Good Place and Cheap Drinks. They have happy hour on everyday till 10PM. the place was pretty much empty by 9PM. Drinks are half price. You can actually get a drink here and walk over to Lost weekend bar which is next door where they have some games.

The Karaoke is amazing, Carlos the bartender sings with heart and keeps the party going, besides he’s Great and provides the best attention and customer service ever. He knows what you like and always takes care of us.

Great beer selection and great djs! Breaks Yo is one of the best events they have and their bartenders have so much personality! The only thing that would make the place one thousand times better would be to not allow smoking. The place is so small that it would be easy for people to step outside to smoke. It is not 1994 anymore!

I couldnt believe this was the Kill Your Idol dive bar that has been around for some time! I have always heard of this spot before from so many people! It was pretty cool that we stumbled into it and got to check out the venue! They have a pretty large selection of drinks available and the karaoke is always fun to hop on with friends. The design, decor, and the vibe has definitely an old school variety feel to it. Very unique and very far away from your mainstream type of places.

One of my fav places to go when we are back at our old stomping ground in Sobe. We moved away years ago but this is the most fun place to go. I have always said if I was opening a bar there is only ONE bar manager I would consider and that would be Karloz. He MAKES this place what it is. Great drinks, great atmosphere and that is all mostly all down to him. Do yourself a favor and go and see what I mean, He will remember you every time you visit I promise! Youre welcome! :D

Super fun time. We came to Miami for vacation and found this bar. The happy hour was super long and really good beers. We stayed for the drag show and it was bomb. I would definitely recommend for someone coming here and not trying to club and stay out until 7am. Super fun and super cool bar!

I came into the bar because it looked like everyone at the bar was having a great time, and the bartender Carlos was incredible. I didn’t have to wait long at all for anything even though he was hosting a show and seemed to be running the music too. I forgot to ask for his playlist! The locals told me that every night is a good night when Carlos bartends so im going to have to come back!

Best dive bar in all of miami. Karloz the bartender is the most attentive, quick, and witty bartender to ever serve me. He’s always got a funny story to tell you while he makes your drinks. Fridays for drag are always such a good time and the Saturday burlesque show is incredible!

Our company recently had a private party there. It was a blast! I think everyone truly had a great time and kept talking about it after. They know how to keep the party going, the staff are so friendly, and the space is so unique. I cant wait to go back!

I love the decor here. Music was very techno but enough room to at least dance. We loved our bartender and he was patient with the group of 5 I was with. Cover felt unnecessary though and bathroom were very dirty

Amazing karaoke and the best karaoke host EVER! I LOVE HER! I even found some hilarious promo videos on YouTube, like eating a steak sandwich in a bubble bath while in drag... AMAZING!(This means a lot coming from me. I have very high karaoke standards Im a karaoke host in Olympia, WA - Oly is 60 miles south of Seattle.)

Back in the 80s in the lower East Side of Manhattan there would be these hole in the wall places .There we would have great times and the music and bar tenders were all so marvelous. Nothing pretentious. And it would attract the most interesting crowds. This is that sort of place in many ways. And unlike the often violent drink prices on most of Miami Beach, they keep theirs at a very sensible level!

Kill Your Idol is always a great time. Such a great local dive bar energy amidst a lot of so so touristy places in South Beach. If you can go on Thurs-Sun when Karloz is bartending, hes the life of the party and really gets the place going

My BFF an my self had a good time at this bar.. The drinks, an music was fun.The bartender made good drinks all night long 8\8/21. Full of energy. She took care of us..Very nice person.

Nice selection of beer and alcohol. Food was really good and pool tables were great. Downside is the cigarette smole and that smoking is allowed in the bar, I have asthma so we couldnt stay past our 1 drink.

I always have a great time here. The bartender Karlos is not only easy on the eyes. He is also am incredible bartender. His drinks are so well made that you barely know your drinking alcohol till it knocks you on your butt. He is quick to fix a drink for you but even quicker with that great smile. Super funky decor & a nice vibe!This place is covered in crazy items on one wall & hosts several weekly events like karaoke and drag shows. I used to work around the corner and this was a great spot to stop in and grab a drink after work. Friendly people and fun music!!!

The least south beach of any venue youll find on south beach. Happy hour drinks are dirt cheap. Food is pub-perfect. Everyone is welcome and heels are not required. in short, KIY is basically the perfect neighborhood bar, and if Punk Rock Chris is behind the bar, its also the perfect place to learn about weird cult films youve never heard of and will likely never be able to find.

Have i really found my paradise? Live rock music on Wednesdays, karaoke thursdays, drag show fridays, great creative drinks, happy hour 8-10pm everyday, bruce lee hanging from the wall! Guys, youre the best!the only downside i can think of is air conditioning - so cold!

Awesome bar with some great deals on drinks! The bartenders, DJ, and bouncers are very welcoming. However, when googling gay bars in south beach Miami this bar popped up. My friends and I, who are gay, went 3 weeks ago and had a confrontation with these guys at this bar. They told us that we dont belong there and that we are going to hell. So yes, this is a fun and friendly bar but I wouldnt consider it a gay bar. So LGBT community keep your guard at this place.

You cannot beat the price of drinks during their happy hour (8-10pm, half off everything) especially for its location. It’s a hole-in-the-wall vibe but it’s got tv, pool, chill atmosphere, and a fun bartender!

I had a great time here. We happen to be there on a night where trivia games were being played. This was a lot of fun and the host was very entertaining. The decor is very artsy and gives you a lot to look at.

This is probably my favorite bar to chill at for a girls night out, date night, weekday/weekends awesome shot to grab a bite to eat and have a few drinks while listening to good jams and watch a game and/or movie. Overall good time with good company at this bar.

It was okay. The atmosphere and decor really make the bar feel cozy and at-home, however the fantastic location is thrown off by the overbearingly loud music to the point I couldnt have a conversation with my friend right next to me without repeating myself. On top of this, there seems to be a lack of quality security if there was a patron doing drugs in the upper floor with nobody caring to stop them. The drinks and specials are moderately priced.

Fun bar, friendly staff. Went for the karaoke but was disappointed when the DJ just kept calling up regulars, even if they’d already had a turn, and skipped right over us despite being literally the 3rd people to put our names in. Oh well. Very vibrant atmosphere though!

This is attached to Lost Weekend bar. Kill Your Idol is more secluded, dark and intimate. Come here if you want to get away from the crowd.

Go for Karlos, stay for Karlos. Also a bit cheaper than the rest of the area and a whole lot of fun. Amazing happy hour deals, plus they were playing the movie Heavy Metal (1981) when we went so thats always a plus.

Hands down the best bar in Miami Beach. The prices are unbelievable for South Beach. $3 PBRs? Ladies drink free on Wednesdays? Theres the standard row of draft beer and any cocktail you want. Every weekday there is a fun activity or live music here. This is the place for alternative locals to go. The decor is out of this world, e.g. spaceships, Mr. Potato Heads, alligators, an airplane; you can spend hours looking around. They show cult classics on the screen. Great place. Miami Beach wouldnt be the same without it. :)

The decor is an explosion of curious drawings, pop art, posters and pieces. 5 stars for happy hour til 10pm, 5 stars for Bruce Lee jumping out the Wall, 5 Stars for unpretentious staff and crowd. Not a large space, but sister bar next door is much more expansive.

Judging by the karaoke the bars name lives up to the promise. Sunday night was heavy on the rock music and very heavy on the out-of-tune crooners...much to everyones entertainment!

Place was pretty straight. Kinda small on one side, but I think you can go into the other side no problem. I didnt venture over there, so not sure of a cover. I was doing a club crawl so I just stayed with the group.

SUPER cool spot. We are from Ohio and wanted to do something less touristy. Very... different! When we walked in - first thing we saw was the infamous Bruce Lee statue coming off of the wall, there was a stand up show going on - loved it! Weird side note - there was some kind of 70s soft core porn playing on the TV above the stage, on loop. Haha so that made for an interesting night! Full of every type of person with great stories! We met someone from Morocco, Pakistan, Miami, England, Israel, Puerto Rico, and Georgia! Bartenders are super cool and easy going! Highly recommend!

The best bar on South Beach next to Lost weekend of course. The bartenders Brik and Holly seriously are the best hands down and and even the GM Mr. Carey is by far the coolest down to earth dude. Security and Door staff (Benny) are doing their best to make you feel safe and keep the riff raff out. Fun place and the djs play the best music.

Stopped by yesterday with girlfriend for a drink and waited for about 15 minutes and was never attended by the bartender, she took care of everyone else but us so we left to the other side of the bar. Other side of the bar was alot more busy and we were attended right away. It was okay experience service sucks on the bruce lee side.

Great vibe and cool dive bar. Only caveat is the SMOKING. Come on its 2017, no one who cares about their well-being wants to smell that when they are trying to have a few drinks. Save the smoking for outside...

Hey so the only thing I don’t like here are the bathrooms. They are Unisex and there are stickers plastered all over the mirrors. I get these horrible flashbacks of Churchill’s and Las Rosa’s bathrooms. I mean some of us care about the way we look and may want to brush our hair and apply lipstick. Plus the toilet seats are always up!!

Loved this place. Music was high energy. Everyone was dancing. Great place to get away from the stuffy stuck up mega clubs of Miami and just have a good time dancing and drinking with some down to earth people.

I have been a regular here for a few months now. They usually have a live band or comedy show for upcoming people. Its a friendly vibe and everyone is welcomed. I higly reocmmend just for a chill night or drinks and conversation.

Ladies drink free on Wednesday’s ! Alternative music mostly in the area with the Bruce lee statue but the Area with the pool tables had more popular music

Great bar if you want to spend time with friends away from the expensive bars on Ocean Drive. The alcohol is affordable and theyve also got ladies nights as well.

Bad experience, the guy at the bar was thinking about singing and didnt need people, we waited almost an hour, without receiving anything. Avoid this place, especially if there is the blond guy at the bar

Music not that good and they allow smoking which I find really bad. Not everyone wants to sniff others smoke. Therere bands that go and play and thats nice, though.
