Room was beautiful. Pool was very clean and 9 feet deep. Housekeeping comes in every day for making bed, getting trash and exchanging towels. Bed was very comfortable and had down pillows. Nice deep Jacuzzi type tub. Kitchen had all the necessities. Small Oven, 4 burner electric stove, full size fridge, microwave and dishwasher. Cant wait for the next time Im here.
The resort was very clean and everyone was really friendly; especially an older gentlemen who helped my husband and I with our bags the first night. He really made sure we were taken care of, telling us about the free transportation, price-friendly places, and just offering hospitality. I was told they just remodeled and it looked like it. Everything was REALLY modern in my room; looked very up to date. The appliances (big and small), pots, furniture, even with the rain head shower - everything was perfect. The only thing that sucked was the people in the room above me, sounding like everyday they were constantly running miles in their room and banging on everything they could find. That is not a reflection of the resort though. My phone in the living area was having some issues, but I really did not care considering there was another phone in the bedroom and I wasnt getting any calls. I am really happy with Westgate and will definitely go back sometime in the future. For the best experience, I recommend staying on the third floor, where you will not hear anyone above you.
I’m going to preface this review by saying that I’m very picky when staying in hotels so these issues may not bother those who aren’t too picky. My parents were once Westgate owners so I’ve been staying at Westgate properties since I was a child. When I found out there was a Westgate in South Beach, I decided to book here. I did read a few reviews first. Upon walking in the front door, the lobby smelled like a freshly cleaned bathroom. Once we checked in and walked to our rooms, I noticed the carpet wasn’t very clean and the hallways didn’t smell fresh. We were traveling with our minor and adults kids so we had two rooms. Our adult kids’ room looked fine upon walking in. When we walked in our room, the first thing I noticed were the popcorn ceilings. I also noticed that there was evidence of several prior ceiling leaks. Our room was kind of muggy. The air didn’t feel fresh. The lighting through is very dim. I like bright lighting. Also the carpet wasn’t visibly dirty, but we wore white socks when walking in the suite and our socks were filthy by the end of the day. In our kids’ room, the air wasn’t originally turned on and the temp got up to 86 degrees. They were told to turn it on. After turning it on and waiting for a few, it only got to 80 degrees and they were told it probably wouldn’t get much cooler. Then their toilet began leaking and wouldn’t flush. They were moved to a handicap room because they were told it was all they had at the time. The handicap room was much smaller and it just wasn’t a good fit for them. The next day we went to the lobby to prepare to head to the beach. Someone by the name of Maria (i think that was her name) approaches me and asked if we were a family waiting for a timeshare presentation. I told her that we weren’t. Then she asked what room we were staying in. I asked why she needed to know that. She then asked again and i asked her the same question and she said it was because we need a pass to go to the beach. I then walked away from her and went to the front desk to inquire as to why we needed a pass to visit a public beach. The manager told us we just need our key to get in and out. Basically Maria didn’t believe we were staying there. She was totally out of line and i didn’t appreciate her singling us (a group of African Americans) out. Later that day our kids were moved to a different suite. Everything was fine until my stepdaughter looked down and found a flying cockroach by her foot. They were terrified! Someone from the front desk came to look for it and it wasn’t found. They were moved to another room that we were told was upgraded. It was ocean view. I spoke with a young lady who was very helpful. She contacted the manager and said we could get a refund for our last night. Hector processed our refund the next day and we ended our trip to Miami a day early. With the exception of Maria, the staff was very friendly. The pool was cool. Unfortunately our stay put a damper on our vacation.
My family decided to take a beach trip during new years vacation to this hotel. Overall the rooms were very nice but the front desk service was not very good because everytime we called no one answer. Also BEWARE OF THE VALET PARKING SERVICE!!! It takes at least 30 minutes for the valet to come with your car and my car along with many others had damages from the awful parking service. Our car had deep scratches on the side of the car as well as a huge crack on the back right headlight. Overall do not recommend, there are most definitely better hotels with way better service in the area.
Wonderful resort...clean and staff and very helpful. Parking was an issue. Only options are valet and a public lot next door that you have to fee the meter every 3 hours. Valet drives the car several blocks away to park in a garage. Parking is at a premium around here but we found a garage walking distance away for $1/hr with $8 maximum cost at 400 West 42nd St, about a 12 minute walk away. Once we found the garage, our trip was perfect!
For anybody is booked to stay at this hotel I would seriously consider canceling your booking IMMEDIATELY. Being called a 5 star hotel is a laughable. First off, the front desk rep. Was Extremely RUDE her tone of voice and body language. When speaking she there was absolutely no eye contact the hotel was full from the hotel hosting timeshare there. The lobby restroom was horrible. The restaurant was nasty. The pool was okay however really loud music Overall the poor service I will never return EVER......Oh no parking either lol
The building is older but quite nice. They do have a pool and are very close to the beach. You just have to walk out the back door and across a path and you are on a beautiful Sandy Beach. My only complaint is that the walls and ceiling are quite thin and it is possible to hear people in other rooms. But Security will ensure people keep their noise level down during quiet hours if you let them know of course
Older resort, but a friendly service. Beach behind the resort is clean and family friendly. Parking is the only pain. Either pay Valet for the hotel or pay every 3 hours in a parking meter...but hey its miami beach what do you expect? The rooms are adequate for a week or two stay. Overall good experience
Location is fantastic, rooms are clean, and staff is very friendly and accommodating. Only downside is the constant touring of clients. Beach is beautiful, my kids have a blast swimming in the pool. Reina, the activities coordinator is awesome!
This was one of the nicest hotels Ive ever stayed in. The staff was amazing at the front desk. Super nice and accommodating. They also arent nearly as pushy with timeshare sales as other Westgates (Im am owner but most places they still push for more). The hotel is small and boutiquey but the rooms are huge suites, nearly as large as my apartment with a full kitchen, jacuzzi tub, walk-in double-head shower, a king size bed, and a pullout couch. The toiletries were luxurious and the towels were actually soft. The room was cleaner than any room Ive ever been in, ESPECIALLY for being on the beach! The pool was heated at night but the ocean is too lol. Literally a one-minute walk to the beach on the same side of the street AND they have free bike rentals (at least for owners) to ride on the bike trail during the day. Also beach rentals were reasonable. The location is perfect too. Less than 2 miles from most of the cool places in South Beach. I also liked the deli downstairs. Not only can you get sandwiches but you can also get meat and cheese (I just wish they had some crackers too!). Also on a side note I really liked that they allowed an UberEATS order to go all the way to the room and not have to just wait in the lobby. I also appreciated the valet parking... Do know that its off-site though so you need to give ample notice to get your car (they told me this when I checked in but is just good to know). I dont think Ill be staying anywhere else in South Beach when I go back. 🙂
We loved it. We stayed there before and after our cruise. The first night there there was some renovations on our floor going on but it didnt bug us. After our cruise we stayed there again and this time there was no renovations on our floor. We loved it. Everything was updated and new and fresh. The staff was very helpful. We like the little deli shop beside and we liked the cuban sandwiches. Yumm. The pool was great and we loved the little area by where the kids could play. The beach was right out our door. The boardwalk was right behind there too. We are definitely going back.
Really loved staying here, the room was beautiful and the kitchen had everything I needed. It has a separate bedroom, and the living room was very spacious. The pool was 9 feet deep and clean. There is several grills to cook on outside, with a playground for the kids within eyesite. Volleyball is available also. Cabanas are also at this location. Snack bar with alcohol drinks is open during tourist season. Easy beach access. Parking is valet parking only. There is not a store or snack shop inside at this time, due to some renovating. There are some restaurants within a short walking distance. Several restaurants deliver right to your room. I am looking forward to my next stay here.
It was a pleasant stay, but the rooms need updating. The sofa bed was very uncomfortable and the floors creak loudly. The master bedroom is very comfortable and the spa tub is a nice touch. Parking is a problem. Overall a nice place.
We won a raffle off a boat tour after a double decker Miami tour for a 8day/7 night vacation and was told we need to attend a presentation in order to redeem. Upon arriving at Westgate Miami Beach, we were bombarded by sales people pitching us “deals” that were clearly not in our best interest. A total scam! They are not affiliated with the people who gave us the raffle or offered the vacation package at all. When asked they said they were marketing agents that were paid to incentivize people to listen to a timeshare presentation. Even after listening to two very aggressive sales associates, the resort was pretty much abandoned, out of date and incredibly small. It was also clear that upon becoming an owner there was no guarantee on the quality of the unit you would be able to book or if any of the available getaways would be accessible at any of their “sister” properties. You are better off doing your own research on google or booking each vacation separately through a third party site or rewards driven credit card. This is a total waste of time! After we made it clear we would not sign, all of sudden everyone disappeared and left us out in hallway waiting on our driver. Complete change of tone and lack of customer service!
Beach front, price is okay... Hotel is very old. Single pane which means more energy and higher noise levels during the day. Light switch in the living room is connected to the one in the bedroom so both are on or both are off, same for the fans in both rooms, they can not be operated separately. Hallway noise is fairly substantial most hours, even enough to wake some of our guests one or twice, thin walls. No included breakfast, no free WiFi. The wifi Im using to write this will choose $10/day. High pressure sales tactics for timeshare purchases. The TV is 1080i super old no parking nearby, valet parking is $42/ night with a 20 min wait to get your vehicle.. Positives are location and price... Pool is nice but small... On-site bar, that we havent seen open yet this week. In suite kitchen is updated and nice. Games area near the bar are pretty cool
Between Guillermo who took care of us at check in and anything we requested and the Activities manager - Luisito Palencia who catered to anything we wanted from volleyball, pool, cabanas, outdoor grill, and my favorite - outdoor movies with fresh popcorn and hot chocolate..... it was amazing!! The biggest downfall is the price of parking. For valet it is $42 a day. In top of that, if you are not an owner you have to pay $15 for each chair and $21 for an umbrella on the beach. It would have been nice to know that beforehand... we had the chairs for an hour b4 the attendant informed us that she was wrong and it wasnt $5...For the amenities, I give it 2 1/2 stars because of all the money you have to pay the resort to be on the beach. So many other places that dont charge for these misc. Things.... should be included...
Its a nice place, theres an open pool, a small cafe, and many other things. A big problem i had to face was the people next to us, they were screaming, slamming doors and playing music very loudly at 2 am. The people at the front desk did not help at all. Then, just outside our window there were people arguing very loudly and nearly about to get into some sort of physical fight. It seemed like something out of a horror movie. The walls are super thin so you can hear basically anything going on upstairs or on your floor.
The rooms are really nice and its right off the beach. You can watch to the beach from the back door of the resort while holding your breath and survive. Its that close to the beach. But if you want Miami night life you will have to travel far to get around. I was not impressed with the grounds of the resort. This is a nice place if you want to chill and sun up at the beach.
I loved this place from the moment I walked in!1) Its smaller then the other hotels, which means less traffic and the pool and backyard wasnt crowded. And that is a plus for me2) The rooms were very clean and organized3) The suite has a full kitchen and every utensil you need from pizza cutter, can opener to measuring cups for baking a cake. They thought of everything! So we went grocery shopping for the week. This was very convenient because we had our 3 children with us and it was easy to just serve them breakfast while they watch their cartoons. Makes you feel right at home.4) The staff were so friendly. One of the workers (I wish I got his name) brought ice cream out for me and my children and he even took time out of his day to play soccer with my boys.5) There are bbq grills that you can use, so we had our self a nice little BBQ supper6) The beach is literally right there, and the staff provided us with towels7) They have a nice size pool with comfortable chairs8) If you walk a couple blocks south, there is a small grocery store on your left where you can buy groceries instead of driving around trying to find a place to shop.If I ever come back to Miami I will definitely be staying here again and recommending my friends and family. This is more of a family hotel and I love that, we literally felt at home here. I also recommend using the Valet parking , I believe it is $42/day, but its worth it. You drop off your vehicle and when you want to leave, call the front desk and they are very quick at grabbing it.
This is my third year staying at this resort as an owner. Its in the good part of Collins ave and connected to the beach/boardwalk. This property is literally the smallest building in the entire area at three floors high (this is considered a good thing for me as it means less people in the lounging areas, pool, and beach). If you are looking for parking, you are better off parking in the big public lot to the left of the hotel on 36th st. I was told handicap parking is free but cannot confirm this. The property does not have a parking lot and you must valet it if you wish to do so at $30 a day. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted by some of the nicest people who always seem to remember my family and I. We own a two bedroom apartment here and have been assigned a different room every time. They are generally all the same. Very spacious and modern. My only complaints with regards to the rooms are that the pillows are absolutely terrible. The beds are somewhat better but not the best. Housekeeping can be a hit or miss. There have been days where I receive multiple towels and there are days where my towels dont leave the bathroom floor. There is also no vent above the stove top so the room may fill with smoke at times. Unfortunately, there are no balconies for all the rooms, nor ocean view two bedroom apartments but this is no big deal as there is a beautiful backyard that connects to the boardwalk where you can lounge and relax all day, enjoy a nice private bbq, or play volleyball and table tennis. There is even a bonfire you can use until 10pm! Before reaching the backyard there is the small pool area with about 15 cushioned sunbeds and pool up to 9 ft deep along with a few tables and chairs. The following is what really ticks me off the most: On the beach there are sunbeds and umbrellas but you have to pay for them everyday that you want to use them even if you are an owner! I can accept the fact that parking is so expensive, I can even accept these minor complaints I have about the room and whatnot but what I cannot accept is that I have paid so much money to own this timeshare and even pay a lot of money for the maintenance every time I visit and still have to pay for beach chairs and umbrellas? It is Miami so you have to be ready to blow money but come on now. Westgate isnt just a resort, it is a timeshare and it should cater to its owners as such. In conclusion, Pros: location, staff, pool/backyard area Cons: paid parking, paid beach chairs, terrible pillows
I’ve been a Westgate Owner for over 20 years. I bought and pay every single year for a 2 bedroom villa (suite). When I booked this location, they downgraded me to a one bedroom because “that’s the policy” even though they have 2 bedroom suites and that’s what I paid for. In addition they charge you $30 per day for parking (no other options, even for owners). The rooms are very outdated and small. There are no amenities. On top of that, they hassle you the entire time with phone calls and meetings about buying more timeshare. Really need to be more accommodating to your owners!
-clean hotel- courteous staff anything you need it was with in reach-convenient beach access-activities the have daily activities from movie night to free barbecue on Saturday for lunch-bicycles available to rent if you are not an owner if you are owner it’s complementary-beach chairs and umbrellas available for rent owners $5chair and $8 umbrella for the entire day-parking fee per night that has to be paid upon check in for owners $20 per nightbeing and owner has its perks-Kids love the poolAnd we loved the fact is a small hotel its very relaxing and not crowdedYes we love westgate and we are owners !LUISITO is the Best he is the Life of this location always preparing all activities and making sure all the guests knows everything is going on during the day !!!
I was invited for a timeshare presentation cause I won a free vacation. It was supposed to be 90 minutes, but instead was over 2 hours. They didnt accept no for an answer and continually kept pushing their timeshare on me. They acted very accusatory and treated me like a child when I explained why fiscally it was not a good investment for me. The staff then treated me poorly and rudely. The resort itself is lovely and Im sure the people are if you are an owner. Otherwise, they couldnt care less about you.
I have booked Westgate resorts for June 30th to July 4th thinking that my experience and stay will be present. I have reached at Westgate resort on June 30th night around 11:45pm. The front desk girl Penelope was very rude she had assigned us the handicapped room which I did not booked online. When asked for the better room she was very arrogant and unprofessional. I had to book another hotel on June 30th night. I have asked for the refund and I was refused the refund by her as well as the manager too. Penelope refused to call Manager for the better room and in fact she was rudely left the front desk. I never write review on any hotel but I had a terrible experience at this resort and I still haven’t received my refund of $420. I hadn’t stayed here at all, I had a too much inconvenience, I had to find another hotel at heavy rainy night after paying this resort $1700. Absolutely big no to this resort. Not worth your money and the worst customer service in whole world. Never stay at this resort
Horrible!!The shower had tile coming off the wall, and what made it worst was the shower door was mounted to this broken tile! (Serious safety hazard)I found a dead insect on the shower wall someone killed and the resort maintenance didnt clean, and on top of that when I reserved the resort they told me that parking was 30.00 dollars per day it turned out to be 42.00 per day. They ended up changing my room because of the hazardous tile/shower door situation but the room was just as worst. It was a horrible experience!!I wouldnt recommend this resort to anyone until they renovate the resort!
I would never recommend this place to anyone. This hotel is comparable to a cheap motel. The rooms are sub par. The staff is nice but clueless. The beach access feels like an alley way. There is absolutely zero parking. The valet service is horrible. You can call ahead an hour before you need your car and youll still be waiting. We witnessed a valet worker take 3 very drunk girls for a ride in one of the cars he was supposed to be parking. The staff/security at the hotel didnt care at all. Save your money and pay extra for a real hotel. All they want to do is sell you a time share here anyway....
It was disappointing! we are a starwood owner, & we always get excited when it comes to having a vacation as we called it in a RESORT. But this is so opposite, the pool was really small considering its called resort, the carpet is gross & if you dont put your ac in coldest all the dust mites start crawling around & start biting you,I even took a picture of a huge cockroach we killed,( if anyone wants to see i)t. the glass coffee mug is awful, my husband & I did not enjoy our coffee at all. The staff are so unfriendly & unprofessional, even they see you trying to open the door with baby & luggage in your hand they just look at you. There is no parking, you have to pay 10 bucks a day , but before you got your parking, you have to wait until 6pm after all the beach people leave, its a sweat to get it. The only good thing, is they change your towel everyday & the deli downstairs who does make delicious breakfast.
Dont listen to what other people say about this hotel. Its perfectly located, with a tropical vibe. The staff was very helpful and the rooms were very clean and cozy. They have a pool, fire pit, and much more. I would definitely stay again.
The location is beautiful, however, that itself does not make up for the horrendous service received. When booking the room, I was never told that there was no parking through the resort unless you want to pay $30/day. That was strike one. After getting completely unsettled and unpacked for the week on South Beach, we spent two days in a room that was nearly 80 degrees and it could not be fixed until Monday. Then it started to rain and we had a leak through our window. Again we were told on Saturday that it would not be fixed until Monday. On top of that there is construction going on in the room beside us through 9pm. I have stayed at two different westgates in Orlando, Florida and one in Gatlinburg, Tennessee and this is by far the worst service and interior that I have ever stayed at with a Westgate. Every other Westgate I have stayed at has had a washer and dryer in the room and this one has a laundry room in the hot dungeon of a basement and they charge $1.75/load for a total of $3.50 to wash and dry even though the printed material you get when you check in says $1.25. The machines are awful too so it’s more like $7.00 because you have to run each one twice. I am on my honeymoon trying to relax with my wife and would have honestly rather stayed in Orlando. If I ever come back to the Miami area, I will never stay at the Westgate.
We were there for a family vacation in June 2018. We were told we could get an ocean view room as I had requested when booking the room but up on arrival, we were told none was available even though we arrived early. The room was very outdated. Very much unlike our home resort Westgate Lakes. The staff attempted to up sale us another property in Florida but when we refused they indicated theres no ocean view room available.
I stayed at this resort for my birthday in the end of October. I always stay at a Westgate resort anytime I go on a trip and this was the first time I was ever disappointed by Westgate. The staff inside were nice and the room was nice however this particular west gate has no porch or access to the outside directly from the room. Its a very old building and the ocean view is no ocean view you still have to leave outside the resort gates and go walking to even view the ocean or get to it. Theres no parking besides the lot next to the building that you have to use an app to pay for (3hours at a time) or the valet which is 20 a day. The valet is probably the worst ever you wait 30 mins for your car each time and we waited outside once and actually saw the guy driving our car in the rain with the window down, our floor was wet on the drivers side and all. In all I give 2 stars because this is NOT worth the money you pay to stay at a westgate.
Favorite family vacation spot. Great for couples with and without kids. Beautiful rooms, views and everything is in walking distance. Not to mention the great customer service. Very friendly and helpful.
Was not impressed, first to check in an never got the room requested. But did get a room with a running toilet, no pressure shower, that couldnt decided if it wanted to stay all hot or all cold. No washer and dryer like most resorts. No activities, not even a vending machine.
Not a real resort, just a semi renovated building with beach and pool access. You can hear whenever someone is walking above your room (which woke me up this morning) i.e wooden floors and very noisy overall (cleaning/blowers/vaccuums, people walking in the corridor, etc.). Parking is costly $40 per day so wouldnt advise that you stay here if you have a car or want to move about as most of the stores/malls/plazas are on the mainland.
Do you enjoy sloped floors? Do you enjoy wore out furniture? Do you enjoy having no television in your room? If so, then this is the place for you. Like all of Westgate properties, its just plain sub-par because David Seigal refuses to spend money on maintaining his properties.... however, the staff is fantastic here. The only shiny spot at this hotel.
If there was a zero star. That is what this place deserves. We Checked in 4 days ago and that is when everything started going wrong. The place was definitely below my expectation. We are staying on the first floor. It needs a lot of upgrade. First the TVs in our room was not working and we had to call and someone came to fix it. The remote in the bedroom does not work, the light in the living room does not work. When you are working on the carpet which by the way is dirty the feel like you are about to fall in a hole. The floor is not even. The fan was blowing dust over us in the bed room. I came with 3 children and this stay has been one of their worst experience. We cannot wait to leave tomorrow. Then 2 days after we arrived we found a cockroach coming out of the outlet in the kitchen area. We killed it and called the front desk about it. To my surprise, she answered by saying it rained outside, things like this happens! What a response, so she is saying that is normal. I asked to speak to a manager and was told that the manager is off since it was 4th of July. He will be back tomorrow. The housekeeping supervisor showed up instead and asked to detail the apartment after we go out for the day. Mind you they never detailed tha apartment. It was cleaned for 10 mins. I asked for a supervisor who I was told will be in later and will come see me. The supervisor - Alex never came. I went to him. He had no reaction when I told him the issue. Then I realized that this is a normal occurrence here. The next day, the manager -Hector Perez never came to me, I was the one who went to him with all the issues. This I think is very unprofessional. All the staff here lack professionalism. The manager spoke to his superior who stated they will refund the resort fee and 10percent of my room rate. However today as I am writing this, another incident just happened and I have had it. As I was in the bedroom ironing, I felt a creature crawling on my leg, to my surprise it is a milipede. I am so furious and really disappointed at this place. I called the front desk about it and had to call twice to have someone come to the room to remove it. I wanted to speak to aSupervisor but non available until tomorrow. We are leaving tomorrow. Thank God !!! I will never ever recommend this place to anybody and I will never ever come here again or any west gates resorts.
The resort is beautiful, especially the back yard paradise. Boardwalk is fabulous and the staff are helpful. The only bad thing is there isnt a fitness room and closest gym (Crunch) is $35.00 a day. oh.....parking anywhere in South Beach is a nightmare.
I chose this resort because (1) on my trip to Orlando I stayed in a Westgate Resort and loved it and (2) Ocean Front Suites + Jacuzzi for 2 at $200 a night you cant beat that. I was a little skeptical at first after reading the reviews but after my stay I was glad I chose this hotel. They told me upfront that a ocean view is not guaranteed however they would try their best to accomodate my request. They certainly did that! I stayed in room 305 which had amazing panoramic views of the ocean that you couldnt beat!! Every night and every morning I took a dip in the jacuzzi tub that was in our room while watching tv and admiring the views that I could still see while I was relaxing in the jacuzzi. I definitely recommend anyone going to this resort to try staying in room 305. I also really liked the backyard retreat, swinging in the hammock and catching a great nights view of the stars & moon was great and so peaceful. There was also a small store downstairs that was very convenient and the prices were very cheap too. The hotel staff was friendly & not pushy about getting you into their presentation either as the reviews stated. On the 2nd night of our stay I was politely asked if I wanted to do the presentation. I declined and was not hassled about it anymore after that. Upon our Arrival & leave the staff nicely helped us with our bags and parked our car. This place is also in a great location and beside the fountainbleu hotel which we went to eat at and is known for being a big spot that celebrities visit. - I will definitely stay here again. *And the showers water gets very hot unlike one of the reviews that I had read prior to visiting. You simply have to stay at this place for yourself.
It is what you would expect for 200 a night in Miami Beach. Rooms were comfortable and the staff was nice and helpful. There is a little market adjacent to the lobby that had decent food at a good price. We had one issue that we had to call maintenance for and they came and fixed it quickly. There is no hot water, just luke warm, which gets annoying after a few days. Parking is a pain, but that is a Miami Beach problem, not just a hotel problem. We comfortably fitted six for over a week at 200 a night, so it was worth it. Would be 4 stars if the place had hot water.
As a Westgate owner I have been completely blown away. Unfortunately in a extremely negative way! This is NOT a resort. No store, no restaurant very little old hotel. Air conditioning is out dated and cant keep up with cooling the way its designed. My room temperature stayed between 78 and 80 degrees, yet cool air did blow out of vent. Furniture very old and worn. Carpet with rips here and there. Dresser drawers would continually keep opening up, finnally just left them out. No washer/dryer in room. Had to do ourselves in a small room that felt like a sauna room. They should have had this as a service they could provide for their owners as I AM supposed to be on vacation!! And Ill finish with construction starting early and going till 6 right next door. Maybe again as a owner I should have been told this would be going on so I can decide whether or not I want to deal with it on MY vacation!!
Celebrating Birthdays and Anniversary!!! Complimentary Cable, Wine, and a handwritten Congratulations Card.....So thoughtful Miss Reyes!!! Considerate Conceirges James and Manuel. Wonderful Front Desk Representatives, especially Miss Johanna! Great Westgate Representative and Sales Associate Dan! Great Location for adventures and outgoing families...Miami Beach is your backyard! No need for a car....short walk to restaurants and a free shuttle along the strip!!! #Winning
Well our particular stay was annoying in the beginning. the cleaning service didnt clean beforehand, so the garbage was still full, no soap or sponges, no towels etc. After complaining they fixed it though the cleaners still didnt do a 100% sadly. The owners bbq is so lame, its buns, hotdog bread, some grilled chicken and beef, lettuce and thats it. The bbq is not diverse at all nor even looks like a real one. Thats pretty lame. The place itself is pretty nice. But the organisational aspects could use improvements
It was my first visit to south beach! And the culmination of my 2week vacation... from Westgate Kissimmee Orlando resort.. which was spectacular! Home away from home! Less clutter😊 Westgate southbeach was a disappointment... to start off there was no parking... and there was a fee attached.. to drop and pick up your vehicle... the oven was not working.. or it was?! And there was no instructions as to operate, big disappointment.. after coming directly from a great experience to a not so good one! The staff was helpful and accommodating.. overall it was 2 stars.. for me..
Ok, we travel a lot. I try to be fair. The room was ok. Old, but we used to live in this area, so we are realistic. Heres the thing. There is ZERO parking. I mean zero. The lot next door is a community lot. Anyone going to the beach parks there and the construction workers park there. There are about five sky cranes on the street, so there is heavy competition for those spots. Now, add in the beach goers, the hotel guests, anyone living in the area, etc. We spent most days and nights with me going back to the room while my husband drove around trying to share out a spot. Of course everyone is savvy about this, do they will steal a spot, even if you are next in line. Lets talk about internet. I work from home, so I was on a working vacation. I wasted hours with poor connection. I wont go into detail, but this was a huge issue for me as I must work as I vacation and have deadlines I must meet or lose my work. Frustrating. Finally, there is the hard sell pitch. I bought this online like a hotel. I was not notified that this was going to be a sales pitch. To the sales womens credit, when I told her that no way, no how I would waste even 20 minutes in a sales pitch, she left us alone, but beware. The good news? The Cuban store next door is wonderful. Great to buy some groceries and get a Cuban Coffee. You are within a short drive to some great restaurants (go to Havana 1957). Thats it. Our room service was spotty. I waited a loooooong time to get our coffee replenished and the room was services a couple times, but really all they did was add towels. I dont often leave bad reviews, but felt the need to make this all clear. My heart broke on our last day when a young couple checked in with a newborn and I heard the front desk clerk explain how the parking would work (Just park next door!). Yeah, right. Keep that baby cool and be careful of any groceries in the heat of the car as you drive around and around and around.
I went to the facility and was treated very poorly. I new a met the criteria for seeing a unit, but they refused to show it to me and said I did not make enough money. I have a six-figure salary. As I shared with the representative, this is clearly a form of discrimination.
I was lured to their hotel by one of their reps asking if my husband and I would do a survey for a $125, a boat ride and a free vacation once we arrived by an Uber that they provided and gave them all of our information we were told that we were too late and they refused to give my husband and I our information back... the security and front desk staff was unpleasant and unapologetic about wasting our time. I wouldn’t recommend staying there
We ended up here when we vacationed with friends who had done a time share points trade to stay at the Westgate South Beach.Pros:Close to a beach. The cafe/convenience store downstairs has really good food.Cons:This is nowhere near anything to do in Miami Beach. its in the middle of the Art Deco District that is full of empty shells of buildings built in the 40s-60s. EVERYTHING is a cab/bus ride away. There is one thermostat for the whole suite and theres a good 10-15 degree variance from one end to the other. The people with the thermostat freeze while the people on the other end sweat the night away... in a bad way.You cant operate two faucets in the suite at the same time. My wife was in the shower when the other couple in our suite turned on their bathtub. She instantly found herself standing there soapy with ZERO water. The building is poorly constructed. You can feel that the floor underneath the carpet is very uneven. Worse, the floors creak and it sounds like people in the room above you are STOMPING just by regular walking. Ive never had so many poor nights of sleep in a row.The soap/toilet paper/paper towels in the room are some of the cheapest weve ever had the displeasure of using. The exterior of the building was being painted when we stayed there and the crews doing the work were not at all considerate of guests. The pool is nothing special and certainly nowhere Id want to spend any time.If this is a time share Im horrified at the thought of what their other properties must be like. I dont know how in the world anyone would stay here and then agree to purchase a time share.
Beautiful room with comfy bed, Jacuzzi tub, kitchen and living room in each room. Outside has heated pool, grills, fire pit, hammock, cabanas, volleyball court and more. Friendly, helpful staff.
My family of four recently visited Westgate on Miami Beach and enjoyed mostly everything at the resort. It didnt have all the amenities of other WG resorts that we had visited in the past, but because we were just steps from the beach with all the activities there and in a great location that is close to restaurants, shopping, spas, dancing, and nightlife we didnt feel slighted. The staff at this location were professional, always polite, friendly and knowledgeable with any needed information. I look forward to visiting this quiet, family place in Miami again.
I rate this place very low. I am an owner and could not get an exchange... They said there is no availability to exchange but I can pay to stay here. I had no choice because my family from Argentina was coming. They were able to exchange after many emails back and forth... I do not believe for one minute that there are only a few number of exchanges available and the rest are for rent. I think owners deposit the condo and Westgate rents them out to make money instead of doing an exchange for a Westgate owner........Very disappointed Westgate owner!!!!!!!!!!!
The dang resort in the strip! Service was above and beyond! Front desk was great, all of them. The valet was great. The rooms were Omg!!!!!! Right on the beach. I will be back. Maria in office is a gem.
WiFi is fee accessible, not super close to beach, but does offer beach front access. Street is under lots of construction when we stayed. Decent for the price. Lots of pressure to do timeshare option.
The hotel was far away from most attractions. They were offering additional accommodation but to qualify you had to make over $50,000. Pretty evasive about it. It has a private beach but beach equipment was extra. Everything had a fee.
Westgate is a very nice beachfront hotel , pretty close to the Faena, Edition and the Fontainnebleau. What makes it more interesting is that all of those three hotels have a good club, LIV, Basement etc...Furthermore, theres a public parking lot close to the hotel. I hope youll enjoy your stay. Please, click the LIKE button after reading the review.
Did not stand up to the promise given to us. We took a boat cruise and won a trip. To get the trip we had to agreed to a Westgate tour and they would provide us with a breakfast , so we agreed. No transportation was offered to us. So we walked 22 blocks in the heat trying to fullfill our obligation. Upon the arrival at Westgate they told us We did not qualify, because my husband receive disability in the amount of $3,000 a month and my income $2,400 a month. No one asked that question concerning his disability. Westgate took the won trip back and didnt allow us to eat breakfast as promise. Seem like this should have been discuss with us prior to the scheduled tour, especially not being able to keep the won trip. No care or concern noted by the Westgate representive.
This is a great location and a very reasonable price. The only drawback is that they are very pushy with selling their timeshare, even though we are already owners. Do not go with Daniella because she does not understand the word NO.
Was looking to book with them. They claimed they were full then booked is with New Casablanca on the Ocean. The other hotel and was awful, old and needs to be demolished. We found bed bugs, rust and all around dirty. When we called Westgate to let them know they told us to leave and charged a 100$ more. Stay away from West gate they only care about your money!!
Hotel is under construction noise after 8am. They dont let you sleep. Showers are trash all the water comes out. Iron doesnt work properly.
Beautiful resort. Top notch staff. Best of All was the Beach Concierge, David his amazing dedication to making our south beach experience outstanding ,,,,,,,the best since cape cod
Service was terrible, valet is very pricey but not worth it because they never have your car out in time....Worms coming out of shower drain, shower head did not work and the front desk never answers the phone when you need them thank god nobody was dying
Very disappointed the valet parking employee stole my husbands cellphone and we filed a report and he said we will buy another phone phone for your husband and since that he has not contacted us and he doesnt answer us and that is very unpleasent to find. Rating:0.0
Great location...located within walking distance to the beach and trolly cars...They dont have a restaurant on site...they were building a sandwich shop in June(The Tarvern restaurant is across the street) grocery store is not close by...if you plan to cook, bring your own seasoning, etc...
Westgate is full of you know what I wouldn’t recommend them to anybody; they just tell lies and lies and take your money and still lie and try to cover it up. If you buy a timeshare watch out for Lisa because she will lie with her manger. They are full of it. I have been giving the run around because they lie and don’t want to return my money. I wish I could give them no stars because that’s What they need.
This resort was a blast, rooms were very homey, staff was very nice. Overall a great stay, would recommend to friends and would come back
One of Floridas nooks of paradise...the staff is friendly, the rooms are clean, the beach is steps away, and the ocean is calling! Great place for a little getaway, but rooms go fast.
I stayed at this place before and we got our stuff stolen through a window despite the fact that there was an attendant who was supposedly patrolling the property all night. I was livid. The manager didnt do anything and even said that he couldnt see anything through the camera- then what was the point of the camera?? I dont recommend this place.
Allen the Supervisor was great !! I , along with other guess was upset because Westgate didnt honor their itinerary schedule. There was never the Complementary Breakfast., and the bar bque was just hotdogs and not the hamburger and chicken that we were told, other than that it was ok.
You cant beat the clamness of the area. If your looking for fun, quite, exercise, waterfront. This is the area to be at. Not to far from the night life as well. Even some things are open to the public. ✨🎉🐱
Staff is very friendly, right on the beach and a robe in the room is a nice touch.wish there was free parking but the valet service is nice.
Rooms are clean and decent but always seem to have a few issues, like the tvs, the showers, etc. Some of the rooms are a lot smaller than what they try to sell you.
THE HOTELS OUTSIDE APPEARANCE IS AN EYE SOAR. WE STAYED AT THE HOTEL WITH MY SISTER WHO AS A TIMESHARE. THEY TRIED TO UPSELL US WHILE WE WERE REGISTERING INTO THE HOTEL.WE HAD A PROBLEM WITH OUR BATHROOM DOOR 5 MINUTES AFTER ENTERING OUR SUITE. I CALLED DOWN TO THE FRONT DESK AND DID NOT GET AN ANSWER AFTER SEVERAL ATTEMPTS. I HAD TO CATCH THE ELEVATOR BACK DOWN TO THE FRONT DESK WHERE THE MANAGER & THE GUY WHO CHECKED US IN WAS STANDING IN FRONT OF THE PHONE. I VOICED MY CONCERNS ABOUT THEM NOT ANSWERING THE PHONE & THEN ABOUT THE BATHROOM DOOR.THE MANAGER RODE BACK UP TO THE SUITE WITH ME & MAINTENANCE JOINED US. THEY ENDED UP GIVING US ANOTHER SUITE BECAUSE MAINTENANCE SAID WE WOULD GET STUCK IN THERE. THE MANAGER WASNT TOO FRIENDLY WITH US WHEN WE CHECKED IN. HE WAS THE ONE THAT CAME OVER & SAID WE COULD UPGRADE FOR $50 A NIGHT. (REALLY)WE WERE TREATED LIKE SECOND CLASS CITIZENS FROM THE TIME WE CHECKED IN.THEY HAD A BARBECUE WHICH WE STOOD IN LINE FOR BUT HAD TO WAIT FOR THE STAFF TO SERVE THE SPANISH SPEAKING GUESTS FIRST WHO WAS SERVED WHEREVER THEY WERE SEATED. WE RECEIVED JUST BAD ATTITUDES!I WOULD NEVER GET A TIMESHARE WITH WESTGATE JUST BECAUSE OF THIS PROPERTY!!Teresa Carmichael-Dodd
The rooms are good I have seen them but the people that woks in here mostly the receptionist are the ones that are rude and dont care I ask for my car on the valet parking and its been 45 minutes and Im still waiting with no response I ask again to the receptionist an they just told me to wait that they cant do anything
Beautiful spot with great amenities, the pool was extremely deep which is a plus for me. It is located right on the beach. There was also a couple free guest luncheons
Was there for a timeshare meeting. Hotel and location was beautiful. The area they had the meeting was a bit rundown and cramped, but I would love to spend a weekend there for vacation.
A nice, small resort on the beach. The service is excellent and it is a free faux trolley ride to Lincoln Mall and the Ocean Drive area.
I enjoyed going to this resort. I love that it is clean. My family has never has a problem, the cafe has good food.
We got here at 3:00am after a delayed flight. They wouldn’t let us check in. Also said we can’t even stay in the lobby. Made us go on the street for the rest of the night! TERRIBLE PLACE!!! DONT STAY HERE!
I wouldnt waste my time coming back here. Horrible customer service and our room had maintenance problems that we called for help a couple of times and didnt receive help till the following day.
Unprofessional service. Terrible soundproof of rooms (you can hear the people next to you). Forced and expensive valet parking. Entrance was dirty.
Rooms Ok, service unacceptable, parking a very big issue, location good. They charged me $42 per day for parking. Staff so so.
Westgate was outstanding!! They are most definitely Five 🌟s!! My new wife and I are now new owners!! Glory to God!! This is from our spot on the beach...
Excellent place good price good staff only inconvenient the parking you have to pay a lot to park your car
This hotel is very deceiving, right along with hidden fees, bugs in rooms, stayed 4 days in 2 rooms sleepped on the same sheets & blankets, didnt clean the whole trip, no vending in building, ice machine outside near pool area, meaning had to walk out down stairs outside to get ice, smelled like sewer room was located right next to trash room without warning, staff wasnt helpful at all.
Best vacation place ever....staff was so nice and kind all the time, definitely a memorable place to stay!....thank you everyone!!!
Not a very luxurious resort. They are mainly trying to sell time share and the selection of places to stay are 2-3 Star. I dont recommend it.
Nice rooms, nice beach, good hotel, except theres no driveway up to the hotel, and that makes it difficult and frustrating to arrive and leave. Friendly staff.
Terrible experience. Facility poorly mantained and staff very rude (e.g. sales people). Also, never buy a timeshare deal, you will regret.
Great quick access to the beach, good pool. Fireplaces werent working when we were there or else I would have given five stars
Beautiful Resort!! However, the prices for daily parking is kind of expensive... The little cafe downstairs was fabulous!!
Good quality apartments best used as a base for exploring all of Miami beach area. Free trolly stop just up road 2 mins covering all of the beach area
Horrible. They had a power outage for two days and would not explain why. They were the only hotel on Miami Beach without power! No refund or explanation. Horrible service would not recommend to anyone.
Is a time share ownership, people are great all around, I think you can also book here like a hotel, the place is been remodel room by room at this moment.
Invited us for a free tour and 100 bucks we didnt get because they failed to mention we needed photo id
Great location clean updated rooms friendly staff. Luisito was awesome!
I was supposed to do a tutor here waited for a hour with no help they did not end up taking me back to the beach where they picked me up I got a Lyft I will never stay at there hotels or recoupment
Changed our plans for a tour to get free cruise and although salesperson was told we had a dog and said it was ok....when we arrived they wouldnt allow pets in. They did refund the deposit but a wasted day!
Excellent accommodations, upgraded room & next to the beach!!! Ill definitely be back again next year!!!
Very confusing to have your Uber driver pick you up here. Because they have to go to the back entrance. And they have lots of cancellations with Uber drivers.
The room was nice, the staff were amazing, the pool was enjoyable, overall it was a great stay
Nice remodeled, contemporary fully stocked rooms. Only thing missing is spa, sauna and breakfast.
We had a good time geocaching at their beach with an amazing earth cache. Their staff seems very helpful
Very busy store, specially during boat show. Barristas did an excellent job of keeping up though.
I had a meeting there. The rooms were great. Great vibe and atmosphere.
Beautiful property. Had a great time and the staff was very professional and friendly.
It was a great place to stay at overnight. One of the best hotels in town!
Great location! Volleyball, firepit, pool and bar all in one place. Love it!
Miss the convenience store. If you want water, soda or beer, or food you have to walk a few blocks. Otherwise I would have given an extra star.
Aside from the traffic from the construction the hotel itself was amazing! The food, the beach and general location was 5 ⭐!
Nice rooms. Smaller hotel and somewhat off the main strip but decent.
Love this place. If this resort is available where we are going on vaca I will only stay here.
Was a really nice girl but they try to sell you a timeshare before you even check in. Wasnt happy about that!
Beautiful place with ocean front view and a private walk out beach.
What an amazing time reina was an amazing young lady reina makes that place she is the absolute BEST and Lisa was just as amazing.
The rooms are very nice, but the WiFi and key cards have been finicky.
This place is great for family outings beach within walking distance and staff be polite
The staff is dedicated to their customers. The visit was very nice at the Westgate.
Its okay if you just need a place to lay your head. Ive stayed in resorts much better than this.
Westgate Resorts. The staff that answered me on the phone has very bad manners and in the end it costs you the same, they charge the same for Theme Park Disney tickets. IS A FRAUD.
Beautiful resort. So glad my husband and I became owners
There was a small issue from the overzealous and shiesty sales team but, it was an overall great time in the end.
Beautiful well maintained place ame excellent staff very pleased.
BEWARE THERE IS A $42.00 PER DAY CHARGE FOR VALET SERVICE FOR VISITORS AND $36.00 FOR OWNERS!!!!! YOU DONT FIND OUT UNTIL YOU GET THERE.
Great staff, private beach and nice resort!
I Love WestGate it was so nice in side and out the room was so big and the tub was my chill spot
Very impress with the staff there,,, awsome place to stay for your vacations,,
Great location right on the beach. Nice rooms
Having a good time..... but they need to improve on the parking situation 4 the owners.
Very nice venue for my daughters 30 bday bash

Low end resort. Filthy. Trashy crowd. Low quality and rude staff. Avoid
Very nice staff and very cool rooms.

Miami is beautiful... I aint have no problems.. I loved it!..
The staff was very helpful and I felt so welcomed... It almost felt like home...
We had so many questions for Johanna. She had an answer for all or got back to us. A+ customer service.
So welcoming. Unimaginable comfort. Where youll want to be when away from home.

Very nice place to stay and nice friendly staff
Lice location near the beach, clean and comfortable bed
Wonderful day and I hope back to the same place. Thanks for your time
Ocean front. The building is a bit old. Strong smell.
Beautiful facility. Quiet part of southbeach
Lovely oceanfront which is kept clean and pretty all day long
Nice location but they push you to buy timeshare really hard
Boutique resort on South Beach. Lovely pool, friendly staff!
Miami South Beach best kept Secret. Staff, Location, and rooms are the Best!!!!!!!!

Really crappy place. Este lugar no vale la pena.
Construction noise inside and nobody speak englishNice room and location
Clean resort and friendly staff!
Very Clean and well maintained property.
Customer was rude but the director corrected the issue
One of the best hotels around
Ridiculous to have to pay $42.00 a day to park
Wonderful location and great service
Right near beach....not much nightlife or things to do nearby....noisy road construction....
A great place. Will be back, definitely..
The Vacation Ownership Suites are really nice!
Friendly staff. Needs to be cleaned better
Excellent place, beyond my expectations.
