Dear Folks at Carpe Diem,A Very Belated but no less very heartfelt review! My husband & I stayed here in June of 2020 & celebrated our 30 year wedding anniversary. (Sorry for the delayed review, life happens.)Carpe Diem made our stay so memorable. We loved the overall design of the place, each room having its own theme, comfortable bed, clean rooms, fantastic massages, delicious & fun wine & cheese event & then a yummy breakfast as well! The staff were all friendly & knowledgeable & just beautiful souls. It was really magnificent! Thanks again for making our stay so memorable.I hope to visit again! :)
This is a great location. Near Commercial Street with all of the activities, but far enough away were you will not hear noise. Everything is walkable, so a car is not needed. They treat you with a wonderful cooked to order hot breakfast. They have a wine and cheese social hour with wonderful selections. The spa is part of this in, so the guests have access to the steam room, sauna, and jacuzzi. Your room has high quality sheets and linens. Its an old house, so expect the charm and nuances that go along with that!
I had the pleasure of staying at The Carpe Diem in late February 2022 and was blown away with the amenities and quality of the establishment. Starting with the Inn owners Paul & Stephen making you feel at home the moment you walk in the front door. We had arrived later than expected and were starving. We were pleasantly surprised with the Wine and Cheese spread that was unlike any other place I have stayed. There was high quality wine, a variety of great cheeses, vegetables, fruit, nuts, olives, etc. I have been to plenty of hotels that offer a similar service, but Carpe Diem brings it to an entirely new level, I would have gladly paid extra for a spread like that. That is one of the many “complementary amenities” that they offer. You also get access to their amazing SPA where you can use their outdoor hot tub, steam room, sauna, and locker room all of which were extremely clean (there were always people around cleaning everything). They have beautiful gardens in the middle of the inn that I can only imagine how nice it must be to sit there when the weather is warm. Guest rooms were very nicely appointed with more space than expected, fireplaces, refrigerators, and more in room coffee, tea, and infused water options than I have ever seen. This inn is also extremely close to commercial street so you can use their complementary parking and walk to all the popular spots in town. I can’t say enough nice things about this place, I would highly recommend it and look forward to staying there again soon. Also make sure to check out the owner’s store Helltown right down the street from the inn for candles, clothing, and other keepsakes.
Full disclosure, this was our first-ever B&B experience. To begin, the staff at Carpe Diem made it very easy to check-in late as we did not get in to Provincetown until almost midnight. They made sure to leave our room key in a secure location and there were no issues there. The staff throughout our stay was diligent at providing a friendly, clean and upscale environment. Everyone we encountered from the front desk, kitchen staff, and breakfast/happy hour hosts were friendly and willing to provide what we asked for.In particular, my wife and I wanted to check out the local beaches/shoreline and wanted to know if Carpe Diem had some beach towels we could rent for the day and the gentleman at the front desk handed us a prepared beach bag with towels and bottled water ready to go. That stood out to me as going above and beyond what was expected. The daily breakfast spread was very good. Along with the normal pastries/fruit/granola/coffee/tea, the Carpe Diem staff also had made-to-order eggs and a different breakfast item each morning. Really great way to start each day.The daily happy hours were fun to look forward to. The staff provided two white and two red wines to choose from as well as a decent spread of meat, cheese and crackers.I would definitely recommend Carpe Diem Guesthouse to anyone who wants a welcoming, relaxing B&B getaway.
Absolutely fantastic stay. The rooms were very clean and well kept, staff was very friendly, and the place really made us feel right at home. The location couldnt be better since it was a short walk to Commercial Street. There is also a great general store across the street which is definately a place to try for food. Carpe Diem did an overall great job in delivering a soothing and relaxing environment during the early spring season. Their outdoor patio area was also very tranquil, however, due to the cooler temps, we were unable to fully enjoy the patios. Thankfully, the room we reserved had its own small deck with a view of the monument! We would definitely recommend stay here, we know well be back for sure!
We had a great long Labor Day weekend at the guesthouse. The staff was friendly. The rooms were overall great (although the bathrooms were a bit small, but it is an older place so expected). Nice hot tub and steam rooms. The wine happy hour was a fun way to meet the other guests. We will definitely come back!
I’ve stayed here many times. This was my most disappointing stay. This beautiful property has fallen into serious disrepair. The new owners simply are using it to generate cash but will definitely lose the loyalty of repeat business without investing in it. Peeling paint, furniture fabric was torn, on last Saturday, the whole property lost hot water and no one bothered to let us know via a text or email. This morning, there was no hot breakfast… coffee machine was empty. For such an expensive property, these sort of failings are just not acceptable. I certainly hope the new managers and owners get their priorities straight.
Very good service, cozy room. Though the pillow cases were very dirty with stains and some maintenance can be done in the room.Having said that, its a lovely place overall , with jacuzzi and saunas (plural) , cheese and wine (red only 😄) offer at 4pm . Cute dining area , smoking balcony (yay 😅) and charming place and stuff :)
We recently stayed here and was a little disappointed. Upon arrival the staff was very friendly and accommodating for my larger vehicle to park on the property. The first disappointment was when we learned the hot tub was not working due to a couple reasons and for a few days. The property overall needs attention. Koi pond was nasty with multiple dead fish, accent lighting in shambles and most exterior doors need repairs. Inside the same story, soaking tub / jacuzzi tub did not work, the toilet paper holder was missing the piece that actually holds the toilet paper, the air vents were pretty gross, the cushions on the chairs need to be replaced as well as the mattress. So I was not really impressed. On a good note, Kevin was great at breakfast time offering to cook up what was on the menu and the location was perfect.
Beautiful LGBTQ friendly guest house. Room felt upscale and very clean. Gorgeous linens and bedding. Fireplace was not working was my only complaint. Free wine and cheese hour and free breakfast!
… for 500 USD we felt campground-atmosphere; in any aspect. Whereas the room was nice and clean (but small) this property is a disaster and needs more than just a bit attention. Hot tub not working, no OJ for breakfast (“we ran out …) … etc — needless to say that this price is just ridiculous for what is offered. But - unfortunately - the homepage nice and promising.
Abysmal feels a bit of an understatement.I would recommend staying at any Airbnb nearby over this place as that is what the new owners aspire for the property to be without actually saying so. Looking right at you, Sawyer Realty Partners. After calling and emailing several times, someone finally responded so I could make a booking. I wanted to confirm rates as it seemed they were no longer offering off-season adjustments, which seemed odd for a visit in November. I let it be known when I made the reservation that I would be arriving past business hours. Despite acknowledging this, when I arrived no key was left where noted. While annoying, things happen and bars were open so was able to roll with it. The thing I cannot look past is that after calling the “emergency” number noted in the business voicemail repeatedly, no one responded to any call, nor the text sent. I also sent an email to their info@. All forms of communiqué remain unanswered three days later. After hopping down into the basement egress well to tap on the window of the employee quarters, Kevin was nice enough to show me to a room. I asked politely and he confirmed that he is indeed the only employee on site at any given time. He also confirmed that the number I was trying to reach in the emergency situation was incorrect. Can you imagine!Once daylight broke, the shadows of what used to be a charming bed and breakfast lingered clear over the property. I arrived late on Friday and I have not seen a single breakfast or wine hour which was noted as happening on the website (with the exception of Monday through Wednesday during the off-season). As noted by another reviewer, there was a $6 voucher to use at Farlands across the street. No one has made any attempt to clean the room or make the bed. The bath products appear to have just been left over from whenever the change over in ownership happened. Even the tissue box appears to have used tissues shoved back into it to make it look like there are some available. New owners could not splurge for the two small complimentary bottles of Poland Spring water that used to be left in the refrigerator in the room. The spa area appears to be 24 hours now because no one has locked it up (I am actually not mad at that, it’s nice to soak under the stars though I’m pretty sure that’s some violation of safety). I stopped by reception mid afternoon to attempt a small administrative task to no avail because no one works here. There was a laptop sitting out on the desk for anyone to take.I wanted to keep an open mind when returning here knowing the change over in ownership is likely never easy. However, please heed the warnings of other reviewers of late, they are not misguiding anyone. For the price to stay here, I could’ve stayed at a Airbnb or a proper bed and breakfast which could have provided the most vague sense of community.I hope the new owners lose as much money as possible on their new venture for so blatantly ruining the wonderful business that used to reside here.Thank you for attending my TEDTalk.
We; stayed at Carpe Diem from July 16 to July 21 and paid $3,000 to stay here. I have stayed here many times over the years, including in 2020 during Covid. I have always had a wonderful experience. Since my first stay, I have never considered staying anywhere else. I always stay in the Robert Frost room, and I plan my stay in Ptown based on its availability.I realized something was amiss immediately upon check in. The front desk clerk asked for information about my car (a small coupe) and then she told me that parking was limited and on a first-come-first served basis. She said they no longer double parked cars to fit more, because the new owners (first I heard that the property was under new corporate ownership) perceived it to be a “liability issue” (an email I received a week earlier said they still double parked cars). She said if there were no spaces, we could walk half a mile down the street to CVS and park there for $30 a day! Odd as well, they ran my credit card for payment before we arrived at the inn … I got a notification from Amex on my phone about an hour before we arrived. On the walk to the room we started to see things had changed. In addition to the monosyllabic conversation from the clerk, that included no talk of amenities and a casual wave at the spa area, we could see that they had done no planting for the common areas. When we got to the room, there was one key on the bed and when we asked for a second, she made it seem like she was doing us a favor to provide another. The room was worn, there was a whole it the ceiling, and two lamps were broken and another reading lamp that had been there for years was gone.As we settled in, we realized we had no hot water (not fixed until the next morning) and the toilet made a loud, annoying, but somewhat comical wailing sound every time we flushed it.Over the course of our 5-night stay, they cleaned our room only 3 times. Unfortunately, their idea of cleaning means making the bed and replacing towels only if we piled them on the floor. A couple of nights we had to take some towels from the spa to take a shower. They didn’t replace any of the dirty glasses or provide new soap (those little bars must be very expensive!). Breakfast, usually a joy here, was fair at best, and one day they didn’t cook anything (“we are doing continental-style today”). The fresh cut fruit looked and tasted like it was left over from the day before. Pre-made bags to take to the beach with towels and water, an amenity from before, were nonexistent. There were no robes or slippers in the room as before. The nightly happy hour was fine. The spa area was somewhat clean and functional, but unless you are handy-man type, good luck because there are no instructions on how to operate the spa, steam room and sauna, and there’s no one around to tell you how.The only friendly person on the staff was the cook. The rest, and there weren’t many, were cold and non-communicative and avoided guests, including eye-contact, at any cost. I did hear one team member talking to a guest, she said Carpe Diem and several other properties had been bought by a big corporation and the new owners were trying to figure things out because they weren’t used dealing with gay people (Really? In Ptown? Shouldn’t the property condition and customer service be the same for anyone?).If any of this sounds whiney to you, please keep in mind that we paid $600 a night to stay here. In the past, I gladly paid the price because it was a wonderful B&B and Spa that was beautiful, friendly, comforting, and inviting. NOT anymore.Upon checking out, I went to the front desk and I told the General Manager, who was manning the desk, that I had left the keys on the bed. He tentatively looked up and said, “OK.” That’s it. No “Thank you,” or “Did you enjoy your stay,” or “Have a nice trip home.” Just “Ok.” He, like the new Carpe Diem, have the personality of pet rock.
We had a wonderful experience with Carpe Diem from the time I called (Christmas morning) for a reservation that night and right through check out. There are so many great reviews that describe Carpe Diem and the best way I can explain our experience homey and intimate with wonderful amenities and service. The service was terrific from the moment I called throughout checkout. At the front office sherry and wine are waiting for you, the rooms are immaculate and plush, the B&B has a outdoor hot tub (a treat in the winter), sauna and steam room. The rooms have two terry cloth robes that we used to cover up on our few steps to the hot tub. The kitchen was available 24/7 and in the morning an egg dish was prepared to our request along with a buffet of fresh fruit and other goodies. Definitely will return! Thank you Paul and Steve.
Carpe Diem is absolutely amazing! Joe was a fantastic host- he made sure that our room was perfect for our anniversary getaway, he gave great local recommendations and was so friendly! We loved the spa and the daily apertivo before dinner. The courtyard is so welcoming, too! We can’t wait to come back. Thank you!
This inn was bought by a management company in 2022. It has lost its charm and hospitality. No more hot breakfast served family style. No more wine and cheese in the afternoon. No more freshly brewed espresso and treats all day. No one loves this inn any more. It is no longer our go to place in Ptown. It shouldnt be yours either.
Stayed two nights and the service was incredible. The room had its own fireplace. The owners and chef were always around and extremely friendly. I felt as if you were at home. The chef made amazing eggs Benedict as well as eggs any way you want. He also made deserts like cheese cake, cookies, and pie. The hot tub and souna was great as well. Its worth getting the better rooms because its in a better location in the house. Please come here, its worth every dollar spent.
Great Location, lovely breakfast and beautiful shared areas. The room was cozy with a gas fire perfect for the cold winter night but a few areas need attention. The bathroom was tired with a hanging basket for shampoo and water stains on the ceiling. None of the sockets in the bedroom would hold my travel plug - they just fell out and one even had a gap behind the faceplate that didnt look very pretty. Evening cheese and wine was great.
Been going there for 15 years wont go again. New corporate owners have taken away the all the best reasons for the wonderful stay. Fired all the staff, breakfast was incredible now it is terrible. Hot tub cloudy . Spa towels changed to paper towels. Very impersonal staff and grumpy owner. Save your money very expensive and completely downhill
RUN AWAY! This is just a bed - there’s no longer breakfast served and there’s zero hospitality! It was sold and as we arrived for Holly Folly, we were told upon arrival (without prior warning after booking months ago) that there is no breakfast, no wine hour, the spa isn’t working, there’s no Christmas tree up, and no coffee or treats available around the clock as were previously. Additionally, the slippers in the room are mismatched, some lightbulbs in the common areas are dead, our TV wasn’t plugged into the power outlet, and after 5pm the ONE person working the entire property is only available for emergencies and was upset when we called about the TV not working. The soul has been sucked out of this place. It’s simply a bed. More so, a complete fraud. The worse experience I’ve had in more than a decade visiting PTOWN. This town needs to be saved. The post-pandemic erosion is picking up its pace and quickly wiping away all the things that made this town so special.
My own experience predates the current ownership. We stayed here multiple times and it was wonderful. That incarnation of Carpe Diem I gave 5 stars on Yelp and Google places. New ownership changed the room decor from unique and themed to straight up luxery. Its lovely in pictures however it no longer fits the character of the place I loved and I havent been back since. If I want a straight up lux spa with no uniqueness, there are plenty of other choices along the cape.
I consider myself to be a jaded traveler and usually am underwhelmed when staying at bed and breakfast inns.Carpe Diem is hands down the best b+b we have ever stayed at regardless of location. The owners Steve and Paul are truly amazing and down to earth gentlemen who make you feel like you are staying with family. The manager Eddie was wonderful and Nick was astounding. Now that I have run out of adjectives, let me describe the resort. We stayed in the Ruan Ji room which has an Oriental theme and was quite roomy. It had a gas fireplace that came in handy at night and actually warmed up our room quite nicely. The breakfasts were always tasty and freshly made each morning. Their coffee is really good!We had their signature spa service on our anniversary and Jay was our spa therapist. He did an amazing job .Usually when our vacation is over I am looking ahead to getting back to work but I really really wanted to stay an extra few days but it wasnt possibleI will definitely return next year and look forward to seeing everyone again.I tip my hat to Steve and Paul for truly running a remarkable resort.
My husband and I just spent the weekend for our 25th anniversary. I cant say enough about this place. We were greeted at the door, the owners are so friendly. We were given a tour right away. The decor is beautiful and very inviting. Our room was spotless and very comfy! The spa is amazing! ! We spent most of our time there.Breakfast (complimentary )is all cooked on site and delicious. Complimentary wine, cheese and snacks every night. We will DEFINITLY be back!! ♡
Based on the owners response, I am changing / improving my rating as I was under the impression that the water heater not working had been occurring prior to my arrival versus only the evening I was there. Stayed in the Robert Frost room. The good: The room was nice and the personnel were very accommodating. The negative: after going for a walk on a chilly, windy 35 degree morning, went back to the guestroom to take a shower. There was no hot water and waited another hour and still no hot water. When I asked the manager, he said that something was wrong with the boiler. and there was no hot water. Apparently, this was an issue for other guests that I spoke with as well. The manager offered a shower in the building next door for a female companion that I was traveling with but did not want to have to lug ones stuff over to another building where the office is located to take a shower.
Our favorite place to stay in Provincetown. The staff is always warm and welcoming. The rooms are all named for famous authors. The rooms are spacious yet cozy and inviting with sitting areas ideal for curling up with a good book and a cup of tea or a glass of wine. Breakfast is always delicious and includes a spread that offers cold cereals, fresh fruit, muffins and breads and bagels as well as eggs or pancakes cooked to order. In the late afternoon into the early evening there is a variety of wine and snacks served as well. Carpe Diem offers great value for the price.
BEWARE Terrible new owner!!! This place used to be our favorite for the past 7 years, we’ve come every year with my husband for our anniversary. A corporation just bought this guesthouse mid June 2022 and the new ownership is ruining the hard work previews owner Paul and Steven have created. All the staff is gone, no housekeeping service, no breakfast or pathetic “Continental” breakfast with bread in plastic bag on the counter, manager’s wife verbally assaulted my husband at breakfast this morning making this place very uncomfortable to enjoy for the rest of our stay. This is really sad to see this place going down! We won’t return and really don’t recommend this place to anyone.I never write bad reviews and usually just move on, because I don’t like to harvest negative behavior but the word needs to go around that this Fantastic place that used to be the “best in Ptown” has become a nightmare that no-one should experience. This really breaks my heart :(
Since it was off season by a couple months and a Sunday the spa was dead. We enjoyed all the amenities and didnt see another guest until we were leaving. The massages were wonderful and the steam room was amazing. We will definitely return and stay the weekend!
Just a perfect location off commercial street. Walking distance to everything including land and which had great sandwiches and wine. Rosies cantina which was amazing for burritos. Highly recommend the Ross restaurant For the best French onion soup ever. The whole experience at carpet Diem was amazing. Elegant and luxurious. And a fridge in the Room which was super helpful. Even had the black makeup wash cloth which we women love.A lovely light breakfast was included with fresh fruit yogurt eggs and toast. They offer a zen like garden to sit and enjoy either wine or your breakfast. They also have a spa but that was closed due to Covid. Will definitely be back once the spa opens and highly recommend this lovely spot to anyone.
My bf and I recently returned from a wonderful quick getaway to Provincetown. I had never been to Ptown, but heard many friends rave about it over the years. It exceeded my expectations, as did Carpe Diem guesthouse, which wad an integral part of our fantastic experience. Immaculate, well-run, relaxing, and peaceful, I couldnt ask for more. Being able to use the spas hot tub was a treat as was the nightly wine and cheese buffet which was such a welcoming surprise when we arrived. Breakfast is simple but more than adequate for starting a day of fun and sun. I cant think of one thing I would change about this place. Cant wait to return to Ptown and Carpe Diem.
Very nice and cozy hotel with a great location to the town center. Friendly, helpful staff and clean rooms with air condition. Free parking on the premises. Only stayed two nights, didnt manage to try the spa but other guests we met at the evening cheese and wine(complimentary) spoke very warm of the spa and massage. We recommend a stay here.
I got a massage from Jay and it was fantastic. The staff is friendly and accommodating. The hot tub and steam room was clean and perfect. Thanks again. Mark Starnes from Charleston, SC . Visiting Ptown October 1, 2021 Weekend.
The list is long as to why you need to avoid this place. It’s trash.1) they violated their own policy and charged my card before I arrived2) there was no cleaning staff— and we were told it was our issue at check in3) ran out of soap4) it was run down— I mean disgusting5) toilet flush made a crazy noise every time6) the manager was down right rude and useless7) the morning breakfast was non existent.I could keep going but avoid this place at all costs.
Love love love Carpe Diem! Very beautiful! Immediately felt like family! The room was fabulous! Food delicious! Spa delightful! Everything you could imagine and more! Thank you for an unforgettable experience! Will be back again soon!
We had a fantastic stay here this weekend! I planned my proposal in Ptown and stayed at the Carpe Diem. The service was amazing. they really try to make your stay special. The room great and the property was beautiful.
We cant say enough about Carpe Diem....we hadnt been back in quite awhile. The owners and staff make you feel right at home and comfortable....we love the grounds and the rooms. The spa is a great retreat....you must treat yourself to a massage! Jay was amazing. Lifechanging! Thanks guys cya soon!
Omg!!! This place is perfect. Me and my husband were here in 2018 and we came back this summer. everything is extremely spectacular. Amenities, staff, food is on the highest level of quality. Eddie has been a great host. No complaints at all.See you next year, guys!Fernando Prieto
I was at the Namaste Spa and this is a review for it. The place was only a block from Commercial St and was easily accesible. I booked an 1.5hr massage and arrived 30 minutes earlier. I got checked in and utilized their spa facilities that consists of a hot tub, 2 dry saunas, a shower area, a steamroom with wonderful, sinus-clearing eucalyptus scent, and about 5 beach chairs. Overall, this place had everything youd expect in a massage spa, except that the space was pretty small. This place is CO-ED clothing- optional, although there werent any women when I went. The massage was great and the staff were all very friendly. This is probably the best full-on spa experience in Provincetown, although on the small side and a bit pricey.
The Inn was sold to a realtor company from Newton and it has deteriorated. Paint peeling, mold at the bottom of the tub and I could go on. They did not explain there was no breakfast, which is fine but supposed to get vouchers for breakfast and did not. For the money they charge it is shocking. Find somewhere else!
Very disappointed. My partner and I live in town and used to come here to get day passes for a relaxing afternoon. Apparently the new ownership has discontinued this service. This is exactly the problem when corporations purchase small town businesses; they lose their charm and hospitality. I won’t be recommending this property to friends and family any longer. 😞
A beautiful place to go and visit. They have a great happy hour for wine tasting which invites guests to mingle with each other. Very pleased with the place and would visit again. They did have a spa, which I did not use but other people I talked with enjoyed it.
In 1999 we stayed for the 1st time and we were treated with luxurious accommodations and delicious morning goodies. A walk to everything but once inside the grounds you feel a million miles away from downtown. It been several years since we have visited but dream of our next time at Carpe Diem
Me and my husband had massages! I had Gabriel and he was awesome perfect pressure and worked out some kinks! My husband had Krystal and he wasnt impressed unfortunately. If you want a great massage go with Gabriel!
Cant say enough about the Capre Diem stay. I cant imagine a better B&B in PTown. Friendly service. Nightly wine & cheese that is worth partaking in. Namaste spa is attached. The beach is a short walk away. Great restaurants nearby too. What else can you ask for?Thank you, CD staff!!
Loved This Place. Everything was fantastic. I almost missed the boat by listening to a bad review .. I will be back as I just loved this place. Everything about our stay was perfect. Breakfast , room and bedding, outside patio and spa 👍🏼
The best Bed & Breakfast Inn in PTown. The rooms, service, grounds and food distinguish Carpet Diem from all the rest. If you cant stay here, my second favorite Inn is just down the street, The White Porch Inn.
Great place. It is a guest house, so dont expect a large room, but its clean and comfortable. Everyone is extremely friendly and helpful. Its a very intimate environment with the other guests as well.
I wish I could give this place more stars, it is truly lovely and we had a great time there. Breakfast was amazing, and 5pm wine and cheese was a fabulous addition to our day. I would come back to this B&B every time I was in p-town!!!
Wonderful place. The nicest most judgement free waitstaff. Delicious food and free port after your meals. Wonderful spa and comfortable rooms.
This place is about as close to heaven as a sentient being can find. If anone has a complaint, they must be very quiet people as the owners are attentive to every need and wish. Dont go there only if you wish to leave a room for us. Its like finding a treasure and not wanting to share.
Carpe Diem Guesthouse is great for wedding ceremonies, romantic stays and relaxing. Lovely property and nice staff. And close to Commercial too!
Elegantly designed rooms, each of which carries its own characteristics. Free use of sauna, hot tub for guests are enjoyable!
Overall great experience. Staff were accomadating, wine and cheese hour was a plus, and the breakfast was great as well. For sure coming back
RELAXING both in atmosphere and massages. Beautiful surroundings and comfortable sitting areas. All staff friendly and professional. Will definitely visit again.
Lovely atmosphere. Staff could have laid out more coffee and tea for overnight guests to consume by the fire and in the courtyard.
Beautiful place, comfortable with congenial hosts. The sauna, Turkish steam bath and hot tub make this place entirely wonderful.
Amazing, LOVELY place and more the staff. How can you not love Sophia, thanks for everything. Hope to be back soon.
Incredible spa, the owners are so sweet & the perfect location! We will definitely be coming back
Breakfast is amazing! Staff are really nice! Will definitely be back soon!

Wonderful staff, very relaxing environment. Spa is amazing!
Excellent location, comfortable and full of character, friendly staff, good facilities, excellent breakfast
This was truely a wonderful place that I would recommend to anyone. Booking directly with the staff is better for anyone.
The amenities and hospitable staff made our stay in Ptown extra special!
Had a great stay. Everyone I encountered was a joy!
Wonderful experience, great food and wine and friendly staff.
A beautiful guest house, wonderful spa and delicious food.
Absolutely gorgeous gem of a place in P-Town!

I got the guesthouse as a tip a few months ago - the Google reviews were still top. Luckily I didnt check them again before booking.First of all: yes, the guesthouse is getting old. The plaster is crumbling in one place or another. Its also a shame that theres no breakfast Mon-Wed (not even coffee in the morning) - although there is a voucher for a great café next door (which could be a little more than $6 - so youre guaranteed to pay extra). The wording from the website (“Carpe Diems evening Wine and Cheese Hour is renowned for the opportunity it offers guests to relax with different wine choices, a wide selection of finger foods, and the ability to meet and mingle with other guests”) is something euphemistic. It was actually a type of wine, cubes of cheese and slices of sausage + crackers (and a few olives). But: I met the friendliest hotel employee in a long time. Warm, cheerful and interested. I got an upgrade and good tips for my stay. I didnt use the whirlpool or sauna, but everything was working and looked good so far. Furthermore, the location is really fantastic and the bed was very comfortable. So I would come back just because of the great service.
Several regulars of the place told us how wonderful this place had been and expressed their sadness at seeing what it has become. A new owner who lets the place deteriorate at speed V (stained armchairs, no hot water when we arrived, interior garden in a pitiful state), deplorable quality of service despite the good will of very young staff who are clearly outdated (barely cleaned, mediocre breakfast)...To be avoided without hesitation.
Very romantic! We went to visit one day and we had a great time! There is a jacuzzi and Turkish bath and they dont force you to be dressed, which we liked. They had breakfast in the morning, snacks in the afternoon, and bottles of wine. They had to park the car. The bathroom was a little small but the room was very good. I recommend it for couples if you are looking for something intimate or for friends who want to meet in a good quality and low price place in p-town.
An extraordinary experience, starting with the kindness of the hosts, through the hearty breakfast (delicious and healthy at the same time), the wine and cheese served every evening at 5 p.m., and finally, the magnificent spa facilities! If I could, I would give them six stars...
Great location, pretty, clean and attentive.
