Extremely mismanaged and chaotic! Excited to go to see the Beatles cover band, made reservations on line. We were sat at a table in the corner on the grass with no umbrella in 87 degree sunny weather, and pretty much the only table without an umbrella or a table number! They claimed they would get an umbrella but had no bases. So if that wasn’t bad enough, we sat there for 40 minutes with not one waiter apparently assigned to us! Wait staff walking by us constantly but Nobody came to take our order!! I went to the hostess 2x and still no umbrella and no service and no food! Poorly run event. Now I’m sure I’ll have a problem getting my money back. Because you pay for the reservation beforehand and hostess claimed she’d refund me… let’s see?? Just extremely disappointed… what was the point of making a reservation and then be treated like someone who walked in .
Anthonys on the Lake offers a stunning lakeside view that sets the stage for a memorable dining experience. The attentive staff adds to the charm, providing impeccable service that enhances the overall ambiance of the restaurant. Its a perfect choice for anyone seeking a delightful combination of beautiful surroundings and excellent hospitality.
We went to Anthonys on the Lake for the first time last night, it was a wonderful experience all around. First of all, the views of the lake are gorgeous, and the tables are spaced out well and nicely set. There was a live band playing, who we wanted to see, an acoustic trio called Pet Rock who we have seen perform at other venues, and they were excellent as usual. The combination of live music and exceptional food and service cant be beat. Our server, Marilyn, was very sweet and personable, and after introducing herself, helped us with recommendations based on the menu items in which we had shown an interest. I told her I was a vegetarian and she recommended The Hotel California Salad, which was absolutely delicious. She brought out some very nice crustless garlic bread before we got our appetizers which was tasty and enjoyable. My son really enjoyed his Calamari [a very generous portion] which I believe is a specialty of this restaurant -- and also his Passion Fruit Martini - it was hard to choose only one cocktail from an enticing list of very innovative concoctions - a great selection! My Dad and I shared a lovely bottle of Pinot Noir, and Marilyns wine presentation and service were excellent. She made sure our glasses were kept filled and was very attentive throughout the evening. We were made to feel really comfortable and not rushed in any way. If I could give more than five stars, I would. We will definitely be returning to Anthonys again soon!
Perfect mix of dinner and dancing. Delicious food, great staff and beautiful views. Will definitely be attending more events this spring!
We purchased tickets for a show and were told we had a reserved table for 12. That reservation was confirmed by the venue before the event. When we arrived, there was no table for us. This is the third time I have been to this establishment and had a problem. Last year we were there for this same event, and it took two hours to be served our dinner. The year before we were charged a 30% service fee over and above the tax and gratuity when celebrating a friends birthday. The owner is rude and condescending. I will not be back.
I have to say… I am so pleased with everything about Anthony’s on the Lake. We originally went there because they had live music and knew they are following all precautions with the virus. The tables were well spread and there is a plastic barrier between the music and the people. I was quite surprised at how delicious the food was. I have been there two or three times now and every time the food is just better and better. And I have to say the cocktails were fabulous. They have some special cocktails that are really special. Worth every penny of whatever the price is. I love the views and the service was good for how busy it was. I recommend Anthony’s on the Lake. I know you will be writing a wonderful review just like I am. Thank you Anthony and Ellen for making a place that we can go to to listen to music and have great food and drinks.
I found out that this gorgeous location is taking dinner reservations and I live locally so my boyfriend and I decided to treat ourselves. We arrived at Anthony’s on the lake and were pleasantly surprised with the views of the lake, it was so beautiful lined with the snow. The food was great!!! We enjoyed the baked clams for a starter and shared both our main dishes. I definitely recommend the steak Au Poivre and the Lamb Shank . There was just enough room for the both of us to share the New York Cheesecake which was delicious . I must say everything was perfect, from watching the sunset in the intimate ambiancet, to the attentive staff and even my Love martini was made just right. My boyfriend and I will definitely come again very soon .
This last Friday, my wife and I celebrated our wedding anniversary and attended the Face to Face event. What a waste of time, it was one of the most horrible experiences we both shared. Here is a brief summary of went wrong: 1) we arrived at 7:00, the waitress did not take our order until 7:45, 2) We received the salad thereafter...very small portionS and tastless.3) As we both started eating the salad, the waitress brough outour main course. Everyone on table 6 was so surprised!! It felt like we where in a cafeteria...no organization whatsoever!! We both ordered the stuffed chicken,...once again very small portions and nothing to rave out, very bland...I found the venue very unorganized, very cramped(overbooked), the customer service was horrible...every time we asked for a drink it was a long wait.THE STAFF SEEMED CLUELESSWE WILL NEVER ATTEND ANY MORE EVENTS AT ANTHONY ON THE LAKE..HORRIBLE FOOD, CHEAP PORTIONS OVERCRAMPED SEATING,HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE, THE ONLY SAVING GRACE...THE BAND WAS VERY GOOD.. QUESTION FOR THE OWNER...HOW COULD YOU HAVE LIVE MUSIC WITHOUT HAVING SOME SPACE FOR FOLKS TO DANCE.ANTHONY ON THE LAKE NEED TO GET THERE ACT TOGETHER OR CLOSE THERE BUSINESS. WHAT A MESS!!
This is one of the cleanest restaurants I have ever seen. The food is FIVE STARS AND MORE. If I was getting married I wouldn’t have to think twice about where I would have my wedding. They also are very diligent with social distancing and sanitizing every table for the next guest.. Our first experience at the new Anthony’s on the lake was extremely pleasurable.
Went for Valentine’s dinner. Was expecting live music which was advertised with no start time. The music didn’t start until we had finished our meal. By then it was over our 2 hour time frame that the cdc allows. Service was very slow. It took 2 full hours for a 3 course pre fixed meal. Food was very good though. The atmosphere was very nice and would be great for a wedding. Seating was very awkward for dinner. No tables faced the lake like advertised. They had everything faces the entrance to the room with the lake behind us. When getting our check we were charged $75 more then it should’ve been. We were charged for 2 pre fixed meals $54.95 each then charged for 2 steak dinners and for dessert which brought our total to $196 instead of $125. Wouldn’t go here for dinner again.
Went for valentines dinner. The menu had enough choices and the music was entertaining but the food was awful!. My appetizer California salad was fine. Dinner I had the bow tie pasta with seafood in Alfredo sauce. The sauce was good but the shrimp was mushy in the middle. Ive never had shrimp with that texture before. And the crab was imitation crab meat that tasted fishy.if your advertising yourself as an upscale Italian restaurant frozen mushy shrimp and imitation crab meat is not the way to go. Then on to dessert, my husband and I shared the lava cake for 2..it definitely was not a shared size. There was no lava middle and it was bitter. It was made with baker chocolate and not enough sugar. The bill comes and there is an up charge on my husband steak for $6, not on the menu at all. The only uncharge listed on the menu was for shrimp cocktail. Will never go back. Awfuk experience. Could of had a better dinner T red lobster and for less.
Attended a wedding the views and overall beautiful. Cocktail hour was in 3 diffent places but if you wanted a drink/coctail it was only in one place so depending wbere you were it was a hassle to get and carry drinks back to your table. Food main course wasnt great. Good variety to pretty much cover all different diets. Three people at my table ordered the chicken dish .No one ate it. Yet the filet mignon was very good. Unfortunately I had to leave early so I wasnt able to try or see the dessert hour was told they had an icecream bar now thats different. Music was awesome. The DJ had the place rockingall age groups no wall flowers !
I had reservations for 2 weeks for dinner for my spouses birthday. Yesterday they sent me a text asking me to confirm we were still coming. I did confirm.Tonight, the night of the reservation, I get a call from the restaurant an hour before going stating it was going to be at a different location due to a wedding and there wouldnt be dinner but rather a buffet and wed have to pay a cover charge.HOLY BAIT AND SWITCH! How unprofessional. We lucked out on a Saturday night and got into a fabulous restaurant in Smithtown.GO ELSEWHERE for food and weddings than Anthonys and Windows on the Lake. SCAM!
A great meal and awesome waitress, she was very attentive and accommodating. There was even music while we ate. We were introduce to the owner and was give a tour of the catering hall. A++
We went to see Face 2 Face a Billy Joel Elton john cover band and it was amazing! The staff was attentive and the band was incredible !!! So much fun!! Danced like it was 1999!
I went to the restaurant on Friday night expecting to have a great night because of the location being on the water had great feeling about going to a new place but as soon as we got there it will started to go downhill the waitress didn’t know how to take our drink we had to get the bartender to come over to take it we only wanted two drinks it was embarrassing. something that you Can not change which I understand is your clientele but it was like we were at a rock concert people dancing around with bandannas on their heads drunk out of their minds people outside from the wedding doing drugs on the side of the building and the food was pretty bad hate to leave a bad review but I have to be honest and say what I saw it was very unpleasant.
Great music, good, atmosphere and the owners are just the kindest people. Give it a try. Last night we saw Randy Jackson of Zebra. Amazing buffet.
Went to a show 2night. The food was good. The music was excellent. First time seeing southbound. Excellent
